If you're looking for a quick bite in Bethesda this is the place to be. Generous portions of meat on the sandwiches.

This little shop, tucked away in an unassuming little shopping plaza, is an absolute treasure trove. From its self explanatory but fairly generic name, you'd never know the extraordinary awesomeness contained inside. From exotic foreign chocolates to an impressive wine selection, from the prepared foods area and the lovely seating spot tucked into the corner, this shop is one of those fantastic finds that is a never ending source of delicious new discoveries. Absolutely worth stopping by!

Good selection of beer that is nonetheless a bit over-priced, though that is somewhat of the norm for beer in Bethesda. Sandwiches which are okay, but nothing remotely special. As another Yelper noted, they're not any better than you'd find at Whole Foods and I'd go even further and suggest thaey're not any better than you'd get at any grocery store. If you're a sandwich fiend like me and hope to find something special here, then I'd suggest you look elsewhere.

This is a wonderful spot that has been around forever. The people are friendly, the food is great and there is a great selection, and the place is clean and well organized. They do great sandwiches at their deli and for dessert they carry sweets from the pastry shop at the Watergate, which is fun. This place is a true Bethesda staple.

While they have a few great ideas for their sandwiches, those great ideas are under-executed. If you order a hot sandwich, you'll get microwaved meat & cheese, served atop toasted, so-so bread. Bottom line: The sandwiches are good, but nothing special -- especially for the price. The people are alright if you're a regular. Otherwise, you might wait 10-15 minutes in the amorphous blob by the counter for someone to take your order. There's no take-a-number system like you might expect in a busy and competent deli. Ultimately, BF&B is a sub-par deli that serves over-prices sandwiches that only rarely deserve praise. While it's better than anything else within a couple blocks, it would greatly benefit from some serious systematic improvements (read: buy a flat-top grill or two, and get rid of the microwave).

Bradley Food & Bev singlehandedly saved me from having to explore the dusty depths of my kitchen cabinets during this past week of snow-induced misery. As I braved the icy sidewalks, taking penguin steps to avoid slippery patches, I knew what awaited me: - my favorite deli sandwich (the Great Smokey, rightfully namedropped by a previous reviewer) - rows of microbrews (now featuring Blue Moon grand cru!) - Ciao Bella gelato (graham cracker key lime being my raison d'etre) - Wine, wine, and more wine (including Big Fire, a ludicrously drinkable white pinot gris) - Desert Pepper Trading Company's peach mango salsa - A 10% "happy hour" discount (which the cashier always says is just for me, even though there's a sign posted in red letters by the register) What I didn't know? They had BACON CHOCOLATE BARS. Game over. Five stars. I don't care if I have to pay $7 for a Vosges product -- I have never seen that combination for sale outside of Yelp's elite event at Agraria. If you can think of a better incentive to leave the house during a snowstorm, please let me know. On top of Great Smokey (har har), the staff are five star-worthy all on their own. They have helped me locate cheap champagne, barbeque chips when it looked like they were out, and made suggestions about superior sandwich combinations. Needless to say, I am proud to have BF&B as my go-to store for all things delicious. Now, stay away from my boutique chocolate bars and no one gets hurt.

I keep wanting to like this place more than I do. The wines are priced high, they have a lot of grocery items that look nice on the shelves, but are not the things I would buy, and each of the several times I have ordered a sandwich for lunch I have been disappointed.

I recently got married and wanted to put a pair of Berger's cookies in each guest welcome bag at the hotel. I called around to several stores seeing if these cookies were sold in pairs (they aren't) and Charlene at Bradley Food and Beverage offered to individually package them for me. I was delighted! I am someone who pays for conveniences and at only 50 cents extra she tied each package with black and silver ribbon. It was waaaay better than anything I could have, or would have, done. Such personalized care has earned this store a loyal customer.

I was a regular here for three weeks in June while on rotation with a nearby business. Everyone at work told me to try out the sandwich place, so I decided to give it a go. First impression was that the lines at lunch time were long and therefore made this place worth it. The store is actually a little food store and they have wine, beers, snacks, etc for sale. The gem is the deli. With a very expansive selection of sandwiches, I never found myself getting the same thing twice. The club, great smokey, italian combo, turkey panini -- they were all great. Every single person that came up to order seemed to get something different from the previous person -- that's another reason I knew this place is good. Their menu board also has a daily special sandwich which, for a fixed price, will also come with a medium fountain drink. Now, for the actual sandwiches. When you order, everything is customizable. If you don't want your sandwich on a kaiser roll and want it on wheat instead, done. Gouda instead of provolone? Done. Mango chutney instead of mayo? Done. When you give your order, one of 5-7 hustling employees pulls the deli meat from the display rack and cuts it fresh for you. They go on to pull the bread and neatly assemble all of the ingredients in a large foil wrapper. A slice of pickle is not always included (you have to ask for it)! Although as they got familiar with seeing my face on a daily basis, they knew that I wanted a pickle slice and gladly put it in my order without me asking them. My only deduction comes from the fact that I feel the place is a little over-priced. If I were to grab a sandwich, a bag of chips and a drink from the fridge, I'd usually be over $11-12. As mentioned previously, the daily special would be a good way to go because it's a bit cheaper and you get a medium fountain drink thrown in all for about $8. If you're in the area and hungry for a delicious sandwich, give this place a go!

Best dehli around! Beats Wagshalls by far!

I love the shrimp salad, at $18.99 and they use large shrimp. Also like their tomato, onion feta salad. Occasionally, food seems a little old, as in aging past its prime.

Do you find yourself hankering for pickled herring? Vosges chocolate? Yummy but moderately priced wines? Other bizarre foodstuffs that are hard to find? Then come here. They will probably have it. It's far enough away that I don't frequent it, and I haven't exactly been there looking for anything specific (besides picked herring once, with a friend who is obsessed). But you can easily wander around and pick up a delicious array of food you never knew you needed, and what could be more fun?

Great deli, friendly staff, gourmet items - an ever-growing wine selection. Nothing is cheap, but know that here is where you can find "the good stuff." Not so great for 'bread and butter' items such as flour. However, it's a great place to find a housewarming gift or classy party food.

Just walking in here makes me happy. The expansive beer section alone could keep me occupied for a long time and is, in my opinion, the best in Bethesda, especially now that they do growlers. I don't drink wine but that section seems extensive as well. The deli sandwiches range in quality from above-average to outstanding (love Annie's Special), and are very reasonably priced considering how big they are. There's also a good selection of specialty gourmet packaged foods, making this a one-stop shop if you're going to a dinner party at someone's house. BFB, a longtime occupant of a strip mall on the edge of downtown Bethesda (it used to neighbor another stalwart, Bruce Variety), finds itself a rarity in an environment now dominated by modern mixed-use developments, and governed by Maryland's insanely restrictive liquor distribution laws. I have no idea how a place like this even exists, but I make sure to get there whenever I'm in town.

I stop in here when I go to Strosniders, next door. They have a great wine and beer selection, but unfortunately you can't buy liquor in Montgomery County unless you go to one of the really crappy county-owned liquor stores. They also have good prepared foods there and you can get and some stuff for more exotic dishes that you want to cook. The staff is helpful and polite.

I'd have to say: why bother? The sandwiches are no better than Whole Foods and probably just as extortionate in price. I much prefer Wagshals in Spring Valley, and certainly Vace over on Miller Ave in Bethesda as superior alternatives. Some of the food in that case also looks aged and crusty. Oh, and did I mention that the beer is overpriced? They have a great location and coast on it with the Bethesda crowd that doesn't go off the main roads and likes free parking.

I was kinda shocked this place only had one review, and no one even mentioned the sandwiches. Apparently all the people that eat here are trying to keep the place a secret, because there is always a line, even with 4-5 guys working behind the counter. Yes, this store has a large selection of gourmet foods (wines, sauces, spices, etc) but the thing that keeps me coming back is the sandwiches and prepared foods. If you're ever planning a tailgate party, this is a great place to stock up- they have like four kinds each of potato salads, chicken salads, tunafish salads, etc. While you're there, treat yourself to a sub. My favorite is the Great Smokey- it's got a pile of smoked turkey, smoked gouda cheese and a spicy honey mustard. Also a great bet is the roast beef treat- hot roast beef with havarti cheese and horseradish spread. They also have an excellent chicken salad sandwich- it's got lots of goodies in it like chopped celery and onions. All in all, I wouldn't make a trek to Bethesda to get a sub here, but if you're in town, you're not going to find a better sub in the area.

Friendly staff, fresh food, good selection of wine, chips, and hot items along with sandwiches. I go there often. I just wish they had better salad and more hot food selection. Other than that, I enjoy the place daily.

Bradley's is a pretty straight forward deli and beer store, with decent deli sammies, soups and salads, some interesting gift baskets and specialty food items and an OK selection of beer (they only carry 60 and 90 Dogfish Head, booo) and other beverages (but only 7 pound bags of ice-- what gives? 16 lbs is the way to go). I'd give them a 3 star rating, but for the fact that they are one of only a few local places to carry Bergers Cookies-- Baltimore's FINEST cookie. For that, Bradley's gets an extra star.

sandwiches are good. sometimes its awkward ordering because you feel like such a nuisance to the employees. just about everything is expensive in the store but it is located in Bethesda after all. Kosher style sub is the best, I usually swap muenster for the swiss.

I love this place! I always get the same sandwich (turkey and lettuce on a sub roll), and it never fails to taste delicious. Additionally, several of their sides are excellent for when you don't want a full meal. I recommend the tuna salad, as well as the mac and cheese.

I'm just gonna say, there's a reason why they make an entire bushel basket of their Italian subs for the daily lunch rush. Whenever I come visit my parents, they are a must-have delicacy. As far as I'm concerned, the only sub in downtown Bethesda. It's not some gargantuan salty mess, either, which is easy on the waistline.
