My husband and I tried their combination pie (peanut butter and brownie) as well as their coconut cream pie. Both were good, but I don't think either was worth the $4.95 per slice price.
Bought a coconut cream pie for my wedding anniversary. Although the pie looked pretty, it was disappointing. It had 4 inches of meringue and about an inch of filling. I hate meringue. A cream pie by my definition has whipped cream on top. The filling was tasty, but for $20 , thought the pie should have had a lot more of it..
Chocholate cheesecake is amazing.

First off, I would like to say that I am only giving it 4 stars because of the long wait time. This is the perfect place to go out with a group of friends and have some amazing chicken. The Texas toast is great and the Cain sauce is the BOMB!
One of my favorite, "cheat meals" They are always hot and delicious! It may take some time to receive your order but it always hot!. I noticed they always call out how many people walk in and are in line, which to me shows some urgency.
Canes is the perfect place to prove the point...if you do something good stick with it. They offer chicken fingers and fries plain and simple. You can get it on a sandwich or with garlic bread on the side. They have a spicy mayo based sauce that is addictive. The staff are fast and friendly. The place is itself is very industrial and clean. Great place to take the kids or people who spend too long looking at the menu. They got 2 options, Fingers or Sandwich.

Mr Kabab

Reviews:
I went in for a late lunch at Mr.Kabab and was totally famished. I considered ordering a platter, but settled on a lunch special of their beef schwarma with a side of tabooli. I figured I would try to be good and not go completely overboard. Boy am I glad I didn't order the platter. This place absolutely loaded with me up with beef and rice, forming a small Mount Schwarma on my plate. I opted to eat the tabooli first, simply because it seemed a easier goal to set for myself. It tasted pretty fresh, but had sat long enough for all the flavors to marry. Which is good, because I'm not a big fan of cucumbers otherwise. Once getting to the schwarma, I noticed a few things. The beef, while overwhelming in quantity, was a little dry. That did help it soak up the garlic yogurt sauce a little better, but I'm not a big fan of anything well done. Also, it needed salt. Oddly enough, that was the only seasoning available, so they may omit it for people trying to limit their sodium intake. Not sure. I did appreciate that the rice was half white/half yellow, just to make the schwarma a little less uniform. Overall, this schwarma is not bad. Although I would probably give the chicken a shot next time. The atmosphere was clean and long brighter than I recall, and it was kind of funny because you can stare at the customers at Dunkin' Donuts next door through a glass wall (if you're a people watcher, that is). I did enjoy the Arabic music playing, but I'm about 83% sure they had the same 3-4 minute track on repeat the whole time I was there. Overall, not the best and not the worst. Definitely a solid three.
I like Mr. Kabab, I really do. I regularly get hummus to-go, just for snacks at home. It's so much better than anyplace Ive tried in town, and far superior to the prepackaged stuff. The last time I went, however, the hummus wasn't quite as tasty. Hopefully just an off day. One improvement I'd love to see is made-to-order felafel. They heat the cold felafel in the microwave, which doesn't leave it with the best texture. I love the pickles and onions that come atop the meals. So tasty. These guys really excel at presentation. Every meal I've ever ordered is picture perfect. The staff is hit-or-miss. If really depends on who's working. Most of them are super nice. A couple of them are icy and abrupt. However, I've never noticed that they're downright rude, as other people have mentioned.
I'm updating my review to 4 stars instead of 5. After trying several other Mediterranean places in town, this one doesn't measure up to the others in regard to freshness and quality of the food. It's decent because I love Mediterranean food, but there are other better options in Lexington.

Normally I'm not a soup and sandwich type of gal, but I was in the area and wanted to try something new. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a nice man working by himself for the evening. At first I was the only person there but about ten more people arrived during my stay of about thirty minutes. They have a few salad options that I considered, but since they are known for their soups, I decided on a small soup and whole grilled cheese. The Wednesday soup of the day is crab soup, if you love crab and cream cheese, you will love it. You can try as many soups as you want, but I was steering clear of tomatoes. Up next I tried the white chicken chili. I decided to order the white chicken chili, which was good but a bit less than what I would call warm. I couldn't really tell that from the small sample... oh well. After I paid, he served me my soup and then made my grilled cheese sandwich. The grilled cheese sandwich had a strange, almost soggy consistency. I will say that there was plenty of cheese on it though. I was tempted to ask him how much cheese he put on it, but I didn't want him to think that it was a bad thing. I couldn't finish the whole sandwich, so a half sandwich combo would've been plenty. Oh well, it was good as leftover for my lunch today. I will say that that it's comparable to Dad's and I actually prefer Soup Kitchen over Dad's.
One of my new lunch spots for those days I don't pack a lunch to bring to work with me. I really enjoy a good hearty soup. After reading some of the older reviews, I was a bit worried about the flavor of food here but the ones I have tried so far were really good. I heard from one of my friends that their cornbread is really good but I haven't tried any of their breads or sandwiches myself. I have been getting the TSK Souper Spud, which is basically a soup of your choice poured over a baked potato. Who knew it would be so tasty?!?!! The place isn't anything fancy but has some of the friendliest people working there. I overheard them explain to another customer that customers can purchase a loaf of bread of their choice if they give TSK a 24-hour notice. I might have to do that!
I returned here for lunch today and remembered why I quit going. While the soup is pretty good and the accompanying grilled cheese is good, I just don't care for the apathetic, "don't give a damn" staff I've encountered. I'm sure some of the folks who work there are perfectly helpful. I just haven't come across them yet. Today I ordered vegetable soup and a grilled cheese. I am not exaggerating when I say that the soup was not even close to warm. When I returned the soup to the counter and said pretty much what I just wrote in this review, I didn't get so much as a simple I'm sorry. The gal grabbed the soup out of my hand and slammed it into the microwave. I was then told rudely to "sit back down." When she returned the soup to the table, it was indeed hot, but she had an attitude that was really uncalled for. Mistakes happen, I get that, but I cannot accept being treated rudely for requesting that the soup I ordered and paid for be served hot. Again, the food is fine -- good, even -- but they really need to lose the 'tude if they want to keep my business.

This is a great place and friendly staff.
So in all fairness, I'm not a huge seafood person and from what I understand, Clamatos is a Mexican seafood specialty spot, so it may very well deserve all 5 stars, but I didn't eat any of the seafood dishes. Take my review with a grain of salt. As an all-around Mexican spot, I wasn't hugely wowed, and I didn't eat anything that I would want again, but that is not to say it wasn't totally great! It's just there are a lot of Mexican spots in town to check out and a place has to really blow me away to merit repeat visits. That being said, the next time I am feeling in the mood for a fish taco, I will definitely come here and let them have a chance to shine. I had some enjoyable chile rellenos, I got the impression they were in fact made on the premises, so that alone gets this place on my good side. My friend had a burrito and we discovered nice char marks on the vegetables, which was another mark of distinction. If I had kids, I would be more inclined to come here. They have an under-the-sea sort of theme going on, with lots of underwater murals and fish tanks and netting hanged from the ceiling and filled with fake crabs and stuff. I bet small kids would be super entertained. Also, some of their chips are fire engine red and that seems like another thing a kid would really dig.
I don't know why exactly, but the menu surprised me. Maybe because there was ton of saucy seafood options. The place is not for those who immediately judge the decor before trying the food, or maybe it is. For once the decor was actually a disclaimer of the food and service. For starters, the chips and salsa started out good and then halfway through the basket I noticed a waded up paper napkin holder... with a piece of waded up used gum! We had already ordered so I decided to follow through and not be too grossed out. I ordered nachos and they turned out good, but nothing to wow me enough to come back. The service was strange. It was as if the waitress wasn't even striving for a tip. Even the guy at the register acted strange. Um, no thanks. There are too many Mexican options in Lexington to even give this place another thought.

This was my husband's favorite sushi place that we've tried so far in the Midwest. It's really a hole in the wall and run by a Korean family. My husband ordered the Jeannie roll and the North Carolina roll. He loves cooked rolls. One of these was made with eggs like a tamago roll, and that's what got him hooked. Their miso soup was tasty. One of the best I've had. I ordered their tofu soup. It was spicy and did the trick for me. Satisfied my Korean food craving. The side dishes weren't the best, but the diakon was delicious. The sauces on the sushi were yummy. I think that was the thing that made them stand out the most.
I can't believe my luck!! If I am feeling down this atmosphere and food SO Pep's me back up!! I can have my pick from comforting Japanese cuisine or invigorating Korean dishes. There is an Appetizer you simply MUST TRY! The Salmon Skin Appetizer!! Crispy oily deliciousness!!! Wow! Can't go wrong baby can't go wrong!!!
I liked the Korean options much better than the sushi. The sushi is over priced and not very good. I did have a Korean soup meal that I really liked though and I would come back for that. Beware if you have a restaurant.com coupon - they are hesitant to accept it.

We love Joe Beth booksellers and want to support this cafe, which we do a few times a year. It used to be one of our favorites, but some of the menu changes have not been positive. Nevertheless the quiche is always a great choice for a luncheon while you are shopping.
The service was soooooo slow! The food was nothing spectacular. I had a half tuna sandwich and the pear salad, it was alright. My daughter had the lasagna and it was pretty yuck! My son had a cheeseburger and it was okay he didn't complain, BUT his French fries were good. What was supposed to be a quick bite to eat took over an hour!! Our waiter was beyond terrible, he was slow and it just took forever to get anything! Prob won't be back. The food was not worth the price, $47 for what I just told you we ate. Nope!!
We came here during our visit to Lexington from a recommendation at the hotel. Very disappointing. The coffee is the worst I've ever had, the restaurant is filthy so is the wait staff and they are not friendly or helpful.

Second time here in 10 days and I honestly don't see why they are rated so poorly. The food was good and our server Cashie was prompt and courteous. I upgraded my rating to 5 stars based on service, quality, quantity, and value. Breakfast 10:45am.
Food came out quick but there were very few people in the place at the time. The ones that were there were very undesirable. I could not only smell their cigarette smoke stank bodies but alcohol as well. They were loud and all had meth teeth and I'm not joking. I ate my food and left as soon as possible. Bill was $7 something before the tip. Server was nice but had not been trained properly on good customer service skills and how to great someone ect....
We came here on New Year's Day and got no service for like a hour, we were lucky to get water. The staff were obviously overwhelmed and short plus they probably didn't prepare what would be the only one or two restaurants open during overnight of New Year's Day. We told the servers, that we were taking off after no food and they were like all right, whatever. This location need to either CLOSE for the holidays or beef up more staff to handle the masses.
