$1 Domestics on Wednesdays? SCORE. I ended up ordering a buffalo chicken wrap which was pretty good (boring, I know). The place was empty - apparently no one else felt like taking advantage of the dollar bottles like we did (cough *losers* cough) - so service was good and no complaints. I'll be sure to get a steak next time.

FAVORITE RESTAURANT!! By far has some of the best food in the area. LOVE the casual/friendly environment. Peanuts are a + !! GOTTA TRY THE RIBS!

This is a typical chain restaurant with high school or college kids working there. The food is less than average, usually a bit dry and the service is nothing to brag about either. I usually go with a group of 3-7 and someone always has to send back their steak because they don't cook it correctly. The prices are average, a dinner costs between $12 - $16. They offer shelled peanuts in a bucket at every table and you throw the shells on the floor when you're done so watch your step!

It was very close to the hotel I was staying at and I didn't expect much when walking through the door. I'm happy to say my expectations were met. Typical chain like restaurant, although I wouldn't even put it at the level of a Texas Roadhouse. It has a similar menu though. My server, Dallas was excellent. She was attentive, friendly and showed up at the right times. Food was slightly below average. The Mesquite grilled chicken breast was a tad dry and not very flavorful. I had a salad which had WAY too much dressing applied prior to serving and a baked potato. The best part of the meal was the huge mason jars which was good for the server because there was no way I was drinking all of that.....I'd be up all night. Anyway, I didn't see many options in Schererville so maybe this is the best they have to offer. If the Outback or Texas Roadhouse decides to build here, this place is in trouble

It has been around a lot longer than Roadhouae, but it just has lost of lot of food quality over the years. The chicken was dry and the all you can eat ribs were simply not good. It is sad to see that a place I once really enjoyed has just gone downhill this badly. The service was great, but that doesn't make the experience much better. Eat your rolls, grab a beer, and head out.

Things i liked: -big huge mason jars for glasses. I wanted to steal one. -strawberry lemonade. its made with strawberry syrup but it was still decent. -warm yummy rolls things i didn't like so much: -ribs, the sauce was good but the meat was NOT tender enough to my liking. -cinnamon butter, good but i've had better they had some interesting entrees, maybe i should've tried those instead!

I've wondered what the appeal of these places were around the area, and I still do. With Route 30 full of the amarillo/Texas/roadhouse/steakhouse/corrals popping up all over the place, you'd think that they have a recipe for success. Unless you like recipes that call for two heaping scoops of mediocrity, you should look elsewhere. Quantity out weighs quality and that hasn't been more abundantly clear than here at amarillo roadhouse. When the best things you have are Lipton raspberry ice tea, and giveaway peanuts, it's no wonder your restaurant is almost empty on a Friday evening when the two previous places we visited both had minimum 45min waits. Ordered the BBQ ribs and chicken. It's the kind of BBQ that makes you wanna go out and have good BBQ. Chicken was bone dry, and ribs were meh at best. You want good BBQ? Go to big daddy's in Gary and don't you ever look back.

Food is not so good. Rachael was an excellent server though. Chicken was dry. Potato was not hot. Peanuts are good.

This place looked like it was gonna be great. It Was not!!! I ordered the ribs and chicken. The ribs were soso, but the chicken was jerkey. Totally dry. I asked for the manager but walked around the whole restaurant and did not see a single employee. Not even at the bar. When I found someone they sent the manager over. She replaced my dry quarter chicken with a dry half chicken. The person I was dining with ordered a ribeye medium. What she received was a well done steak. The manager replaced it with a well done steak!! Skip it!! No reason to pay for terrible food!!!

AR first appears kitsch and contrived, but it gains an air of Tex-Mex authenticity when you hear the crunch-crunch of peanut shells beneath your feet. Why peanuts evoke Texas I do not know, but it's still fun. Beyond that however, the place is kinda dead at night and even on such nights, service is inexplicably slow.

Great dinner reasonably priced. It's a knock off of Texas Corral and that's not a bad thing.

My dad was constantly hinting to take my family here for dinner and we went along with him one night. It wasn't bad but not as great as he described it. The peanuts were good but not unique to this place, The steak was really good and they did have a large variety. The ribs though I felt were very lacking especially after a previous review raved about them. Not a bad place but it would take a lot to convince me to go again over some other places in the area. If I did go back it would be for the Texas Chocolate cake, huge and delicious.

Decent steaks, mediocre everything else. If you're allergic to peanuts, avoid this place like the plague. If you get a decent waiter, all should be okay. Last time or two that I've been to the Roadhouse, it's been nearly empty. Save your money. Go to Outback for a good steak, and pick up a pack of peanuts on the way.

My Amarillo Roadhouse gift card has been burning a hole in my pocket for years, so my sister and I decided to give it a try tonight. And after all these years, the original value still remained, so that pleasantly surprised me. Our server promptly came to the table after we sat down, and had our drinks out in no time. The menu variety was lacking, but my eyes were fixated on the black bean soup with chopped onions and sour cream, so I ordered the soup and combo fajitas. I had a lb. of fajitas left over, but that was probably because I devoured the black bean soup and couldn't resist the bucket of peanuts at the table.
