Great Mexican food at a reasonable price! I miss good Mexican food now that I live in Denver. Their fajitas are pretty good. I used to go quite a bit when I lived in Goshen. This is much better than Hacienda and I'm shocked that so many actually would pick Hacienda over authentic Mexican. Go to El Camino if you are in the mood for a burrito, fajitas, or tacos. Also, you can practice your Spanish-speaking skills ;). The servers appreciate that.

I love El Camino ... their Pollo El Camino is my definite favorite, but there are too many runners-up to list them all. I live in Phoenix, where Mexican food is available on every corner, but long to live closer to El Camino!

Great place to get authentic Mexican food. The prices are quite low as well. Best meal for the money by far.

While San Marcos is probably the more authentic choice, El Camino is the popular place for mexican food in Goshen. College students flock here...and at times, so do the Conservative Mennonites. Depending on which waiter you get and the level of sweet-talking at your table, the margaritas can get pretty strong.

El Camino has a solid selection of very satisfying Mexican food. The food is reasonably priced, the servers are friendly (even helping my wife & I brush up on our Spanish), and I always find myself leaving happy & full. Now that San Marcos is gone (so sad!) El Camino is my favorite source of Mexican food in Goshen.

Had a great fajita here....size was well above average, and quality was top notch....asked for some cheese and they brought out some authentic chihuahua cheese!!!! Located in a strip mall but don't let that fool you!!! Great food, great value!!!

Great Mexican food, nice big space and very clean. We really had to look at Yelp to find a place open on Sunday night but when we did, it was a winner. Plus, our server was such a great guy. I had Shrimp al Mojo like I do at nearly every Mexican restaurant I go to. It was just great plus the salsa was outstanding. If you're in Goshen, make sure you visit it. Tell them your Amigo Cliff sent you.

This is a personal call - do you want 'Americanized' Mexican? A lot of the choices seem to fit this category. I did really enjoy the tostada de camaron, which was fresh and tasted much more authentic. I enjoyed the meal and the service was excellent. If it were my Mexican preferences, I'd give them 3 stars, but considering what most people like, I'll give them 4 - because they seem to be able to walk the line between the authentic and Americanized crowds.

Not impressed with the food nor service. Only came here because our friends wanted to eat there. I ordered taco asadas and beef nachos just to hold my hunger. My food all came out at the same time. The server seemed more anxious for us to leave. If I had wanted mediocre food, I would have gone to Hacienda.

I like all the flavours of Mexican food but yet I don't really care for meat. This is one place that has a pretty sizeable vegetarian menu which I love. The place is large and often busy. I like the wall decorations and the music. Very good salsa. Even if you aren't vegetarian, try the vegetarian wet burrito dinner/combo. It is heaven. The burrito is the size of your face and full of rice, beans, delicious mushrooms, zucchni... mmmm. It is hard to even consider ordering anything else now.

The other reviews are fairly accurate: this is American Mexican food. It's not the best, but it's not the worst. What is the worst is that they charge for drink/chip refills. I think this is the only place in town that does so.

This is your typical Mexican restaurant that are popping up all over the Midwest. The one thing that sets this one apart from the others is the salsa. It's a little but spicier than your typical, which is a plus in my book. The menu does say 1.65 for an extra bag of chips, which is a bummer....they lost a star for that crafty maneuver.

I think this may be one of the best restaurants in Goshen; nestled in a little strip ball behind Bob Evans. The food cannot be beat. The prices are super reasonable, the portions plentiful and the margaritas are cheap (by Chicago standards). The service is always attentive and always consistent. Many people would prefer Hacienda's taco bell style food and there full of sugar frozen flavored margaritas, but really this place is where you should go! I always go for the Fajitas and the Margaritas and their chips and salsa cannot be beat! It's the first place I want to go whenever I visit the big city of Goshen!

Solid. I think this place would serve you something more authentic if you went in and asked--in spanish--for 'comida verdaderamente mexicana'. I was with a big group and it definitely tasted like the American version of Mexican (which can still be tasty). Nonetheless, the servers are a ton of fun if you are in the mood to joke around. Also, this is the place to be for Sunday lunch if you are looking to run into Mennonites.

El Camino is great if you value good food and value over atmosphere. Their grasp of the English language is not the greatest, but that is not unusual in Goshen or Elkhart. I highly recommend the Pollo El Camino, but you really cannot go wrong with anything on the menu so long as you enjoy Mexican food.

This place is the best Mexican restaurant in town. I wouldn't say it's authentic, but it's still crazy good. However, they don't have the best chips and salsa.

As far as authenticity El Camino definitely leans more towards American Mexican than traditional Mexican. The salsa while much better than Hacienda's is still a pureed mixture. On my last visit I ordered the Chile de Colorado platter with pork which, said it was a spicy item. While the dish was well seasoned it lacked the heat I had expected. On previous visits I have enjoyed the Burrito de Barbechos which is good and very filling. I've never had a bad meal here but for some reason I always go in and expect it to be better. The service is always good but they don't always read your ID the best. I have been told I'm not 21 a couple of times which is kind of annoying. Not a bad choice but not the best choice for Mexican in Goshen.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
