Scott's drew me in as I walked down Carmel Indiana quaint downtown area. The menu seems to have plenty to choose from. And the photos make the dishes look great. I decided on the Blackened Tilapia over Dirty Rice. I must say it was perfectly prepared - nice portion of fish / rice was tasty. Only issue I had was as I continues to eat it was hotter and hotter! Wish it came with a pineapple mango chutney to help offset the heat. Got a cup of chicken & rice soup. Came out too hot and wasn't 'knock your socks off' stuff but was not bad. Also got side of mac n cheese which was huge portion and once again average. Turned to a pile of mush after 10 minutes... Now the beer..,. Good prices and yummy. I got the 3 beer sampler for $6. Each glass is 6 oz and allows you to try several. Problem came with waitress and my bill. She was friendly at first as if it was a big focus of the chain. As time went on she seemed to get bothered & you can see the fakeness shine thru. For example- the entree comes with a side (Mac n cheese) then it said for $1.99 more you can get soup! I read that as an add-on but it really isn't Nuff said. Not too bad. Would go back. Get something that not so spicy hot

As an IU grad I have a soft spot for Scotty's. I've been to most of the Indy locations, and I'm always very happy with the food, but some locations have better service than others. This one doesn't have the best service. It's not all their fault because it's constantly packed at night. When we go in there is almost always a wait, but the problem comes when the organization isn't great and wait times aren't accurate. Service has been slow the last couple times we've eaten here. It's hard to get in and out in under an hour. Also, last time I was there I ordered the BBQ nachos, and they brought me the regular nachos. When I complained they asked if I was sure. Luckily the food is still pretty great bar food. They have some awesome, not so healthy, salads. I love the bbq salad and the buffalo chicken salad (can't remember the name). They have some very creative burgers. If you haven't had the schuman special you are missing out. It's a cheese burger with peanut butter, bacon and jalapeños. It is soooo good. Their waffle fries are excellent and get even better when they are loaded. Even their beer is worth drinking. The stuff Thr3e Wisemen (the brewery owned by the same company) is putting out is good and pretty approachable for people coming in off the street. I will probably always be a fan of Scotty's but this one needs to work on its service levels, especially in such a competitive market as Carmel.

Not one to complain, but I've had some pretty spotty service every time I've come here. I love the location and the place has a great patio spot on the Monon, but the service has shocked me several times. I went to eat one evening around 9pm and there were maybe only two other occupied tables in the whole place. We sat down and got drinks and then the server came over and announced that it would be about an hour until we would get any food, then stared at us. We were confused because not everything on the menu requires cooking and even if everyone there had ordered at once it still could not have taken that long. We finally just said "I guess we should leave?" And the server didn't respond... So we left- drinks still on the table and all. Maybe he just wanted to leave, we will never know. The food is alright and like I said, the patio is great and in a very prime spot. All of this aside, just know you will probably get weird service but you will get your food eventually and maybe have a story to tell.

It was ok, The flavors were a little off on the bbq. Great drink selection and beers.

My husband went to school at IU, but that was like 10 years ago. When we started dating I would hear him and his family raving about Scotty's and had no idea what they were talking about. Well, now I know. I just started a new job and they are based in Carmel, IN. Lucky me. I have been able to experience Scotty's not once, but 3 times! Every time the service and the food has been wonderful! We were there for the 4th of July and it was the perfect spot to watch Carmel's fireworks and the $5 house margaritas weren't a bad touch! Also, get the waffle fries, they're the bomb.com !

Meah. Food is way below average. I ordered spicy steak sandwich and tater tots, it wasn't good, but it wasn't terrible either. Would never want to eat there again. Great location though. I enjoyed the drinks, but this is not the spot that I'd be eager to go back to.

There are many opportunities for a good buger, beer, and spot to chill in Downtown Carmel, but Scotty's meets (and exceeds) a lot of these requirements better than most places. Let's review: The Food: I have never had a bad burger from Scotty's. There are so many different selections, that everyone is bound to be enticed by something. Every bit oozes with juicy meaty goodness and they are very good at pairing all of the meat with various spread. My only complaints are that there are too many choices and the food is a bit on the expensive side for what you get. I have found myself confused at times and totally usure what I want to order, which is very off-putting. I have, at times, been so frustrated by the menu that I just ordered a beer and split. Hopefully, an increase patronage will only serve to increase my confidence in my orders. The Beer: I love 3 Wise Men beer. It is brilliant and local, so I have no complaints. The growlers are well priced, so I highly recommend going for at least the beer. The locale: There is no better place than off the monon on Main Street in Carmel. The inside is very comfortable. The bar has great space for large groups or intimate couples and the restaurant seating is nice. It's a place you can lose hours in. Overall, I really like this location and I recommend trying it along with the other great restaurants in Downtown Carmel.

Big fan of Scotty's Brewhouse. Fridays have several drink specials including $25 3Wisemen 101oz towers. I recently split a 3Wisemen "The V" which is a blend of their Golden Zoe IPA and the Martyr Double IPA and it was awesome! One of my favorite items on the Scotty's menu are the wings (I really like boneless) and their MoFo Thai Peanut sauce. They finally brought it back this fall after what seemed like a decade of it being removed from the menu. The sauce is out of this world. The only thing that kept this from being a 5 star review is the staff. The service is good but not excellent, and it always seems that our table is being served by someone in training or someone who has been at work for 12 hours.

Went with a friend and her boyfriend! The food was delicious. The frozen sangria was gross though, so skip on that. Yuck. It was so bland. Anyways I enjoyed my food. I got a wrap with some fries and my husband got a burger! So yummy. I'd be happy to come back here again if I was ever in the area since I was visiting my friend. Sad though she wasn't allowed to have her dog on the patio with us, but thankfully she lived across the street so she could drop her dog off! Good place though and nice service.

Visited this Scotty's location last night for the first time. Would say that in the future we'd be more inclined to go to the 96th St location instead. Arrived around 9pm, it wasn't too busy, and we were seated outside; they have a really nice outdoor seating area. I had the Mofo cluck chicken lite sandwich with waffle fries. The grilled chicken and sauce was delicious. The bun was terrible. Realizing I got the "healthy" sandwich option, I thought that just meant I was getting a grilled chicken sandwich rather than deep fried. What it also meant was I got a bun that was not even a centimeter thick in total and fell apart when I cut my sandwich in half. Essentially it served as nothing more than a chicken holder so that my hands didn't get covered in sauce. The waffle fries were great. My wife had a mofo chicken wrap and ordered it with no tomato. Instead she got a wrap with no lettuce and TONS of tomato; she's not a complainer so she just ate it. Further, she didn't think it tasted right. She'd had the same thing at the 96th street location a few weeks ago and found this version of the wrap difficult to eat. She had tater tots as a side, which in my opinion were junk. Not as good as the ones we make from the freezer occasionally. Granted, these tots were probably from the Scotty's freezer. Overall, a fine meal, just nothing worth returning for. The beer list at Scotty's in general leaves something to be desired too. When we lived in Indy 4-5 years ago, Scotty's always had great craft beers. Now they have 4-5 rotating taps and fill the rest of common swill and a bunch of their Three Wise men beers, which are nothing to write home about. Too bad.

I'm a huge supporter for local businesses but I can no longer invest my money and time at this particular location. I've been to this Scotty's 10 times and have yet to be satisfied with my experience and food. When I'm given a pick up time of 15-20 mins for to go orders and I have to wait an additional 7-10 mins it is very frustrating because of my limited time for lunch. 6 out of the 10 times I've ordered food there's been something wrong with it whether it's missing ingredients or wasn't cooked properly. It would also be a good thing to hand out the to go silverware without being opened and missing 2 of the 3 utensils in it as well. I will not be returning to the Carmel location again, I've never had any of these issues at any of the other Scotty's locations!!!

We stopped in while visiting Indianapolis for the Final Four. The staff was amazingly friendly and attentive and made us feel like old friends. We truly appreciated just how friendly they were and the food matched the service as top shelf. I tried the Burger of the Month: Indiana raised ground goat, blue cheese crumbles, red wine onion reduction with Garlic Parm Fries. It was very tasty! The goat was lean and flavorful and I would definitely order it again. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend Scott's Brewhouse and the terrific staff!

Went in on Saturday. Our waiter was so bad I actually thought I was on a hidden camera. I had to ask for every item at least twice, sometimes three times, and a few I had to get up and get myself. I'm confident our food order was lost since it took 45 minutes and watched several groups rotate out who came in after us. I brought out of town guests in and I was completely embarrassed.

Well, I picked it as you can park under ground and severe storms on their way. It's been many yrs since I visited a Scottys, DTN or 96th as my last visit I returned my meal. I had a cheese burger med rare, it was pretty good, for a side I guess I ordered the tots, as the only other things was shoe string fries.. Which I don't care for... So they weren't that good. Over all, it is not screaming at me to return anytime soon

Perfect atmosphere for friends to hang out for some drinks and good food. Plenty of TV space to watch your favorite game, table space is good, excellent for sports junkies. Friendly staff and great service. Had the 1-LB Garlic Teriyaki and it matched perfectly with a 16 oz Bud Light Draft!

Took forever for our server to come out. Took forever for our food to come out and she it finally did, it was barely warm. They did have a kids play area which was nice but they offer no compelling reason to eat there.

Ordered a gluten free sandwich. The server brought it out and said, "this may or may not be gluten free" well it was gluten full! Not cool Scotty. Not cool! I will be sick as a dog tomorrow as I drive across the country. #frownface

It's your typical Scotty's. The one thing I can't get past is how you get a rag as your napkin. I liken this to a gynecologist. Everyone thinks it's a glamorous job because beautiful, err well-maintained (?) women come to the gyno. Sadly, not the case. Although I know these rags are washed and likely more Eco-friendly, to be honest, I really don't care. I can't eat wings and wipe my face thinking about the last person that used that rag. Thankfully it's Carmel so I'll sleep tonight and assume it's a super hot Carmel House Wife, the same one going to the gyno on the regular. The food is good and above your average sports bar. I get the buffalo chicken wrap which is neither here nor there. I generally think the food sounds tastier than it is, but definitely the best option out of Stacked Pickle and Pint Room. The real winner are the pickles and the breadsticks. I don't understand why you can't upgrade to have the pickles as a side item. The waiter told me its a better value to just order the appetizer. No sir, it's just more expensive. I see through this Ponzi scheme. You can pretty much upgrade to anything else (and many for a cost), so why not pickles. WHATS YOUR PRICE SCOTTY? Drinks are weak. Take your drinking pants to Woody's down the straight. I once spent $50 here and left sober. If I spend $50 at Woody's, I'm en route to the Carmel hospital drunk dialing Toppers. All jokes aside, the ranch is pretty fantastic. As are the tots. But show me ranch and tots you don't like, and ill show you an idiot.

Food was just ok. Chicken Cobb Salad all lettuce very little chicken or anything thing else. The Servers was nice but the food took way to long for lunch.

Very nice experience. I had the pork tacos, which were fantastic. The restaurant was very clean, and although we didn't have time to really get into the large selection of beers & drinks, I was impressed with the depth of the menu & bar items. Our server was also very good.

Love the food. Love the beer. Done with the lack of service there and we walked out after ten minutes of not even a hello or water. This is the last time we will go to this location. Four times in a row we have been seated and ignored and even once got a comped meal because of inattentive service. Goodbye Carmel Scotty's. UPDATE - Scotty's has been very prompt about responding to this and trying to make it right - Good on them! We will just stick to the other locations for now.

We dined at Scotty's during a time when it was not very busy so we were seated quickly. The food was tasty and came out quickly. Brews were delish. But I can't give it 5 stars because the area where we sat was close to one of the computers and a lot of the staff would hover around there and chit chat. It was very distracting and pretty unprofessional. I understand if the place isn't busy enough for everyone to be jumping around but having them huddle up in the middle of the dining area made it very awkward, is there no where else they can hang?

Great menu and the service is spectacular! I tried the Buffalo Mac and did not like it at all: drowning in wing sauce and ranch dressing and hardly Luke-warm. But my husband liked his grilled cheese and the beer selection was great. I'm giving this place 4 stars because of the service, the decor, and because I LOVE Three Wise Men. Having that said, I shall return and stick to my comfort zones of fish tacos or black bean burgers.

i'M GOING TO ONE STAR.. THESE PEOPLE NEED TRAINING, THERE'S NO OTHER REASON THAT SERVICE IS SO POOR.. EVEN WHEN SLOW. FOOD RUNNERS DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO, FOOD SEEMS TO TAKE THE LONG ROUTE TO A TABLE AND GETS COLD ENROUTE. IF IT WASN'T FOR THE BEER.. HA, I'D NEVER COME BACK. Oh... I'm so unimpressed, this Scotty's acts just like the downtown Indy store. The food was decent while the service sucked. (well.. One server that couldn't be bothered) Came in for my lunch hour today at 11:45.. requested my favorite booth by Main St. It was available because the place was nearly empty. Hmm.. wondered why for a moment. Kyle was going to be right with us (I was told my by the girl from the front desk). 10 to 12 minutes later I passed Kyle as we walked to the bar for service. WTF? the place was dead, less than 12 customers in the place. Had the crab cakes, I'm still passing gas... they tasted good but I'm hitting my CVS Flavor Chews now for relief. Scotty's... I love ThreeWiseMen's beer, it's the only reason I come back. I promised I'd never go back to the downtown Indy store.. I'm not coming back to Carmel either. I just realized... I did go to the bar but forgot to mention my VIP card... that server didn't ask either. I'm a VIP frequent flyer but honestly I was not in a great mood at the time... my bad. (Scotty's you can figure out who I am for sure... can you add the $36-ish dollars to my VIP?? )

Came in at 1 o'clock today, and yes, I'm still here & waiting so I'm passing the time. (I should have stuck to my vow to never come back, but unfortunately it's close to home) To any Indiana native this is an exciting time of year. The tournaments are starting, not THE tournament, but the division games have started. The game I wanted to see today with my fiancée started at 1. I was pleased that we were able to get seats together at the bar. The poor guy bar tending had 5 different parties at the bar & the booth section. Again on a Friday and the start of tournament games. It took 18 minutes till he was able to get my drink order. Unfortunately, he is only one persona DJ again was moving the entire time, but inadequately staffed. He was back in 5 minutes for my food order. Luckily my salad arrived a minute ago, 43 minutes since I sat down, but unfortunately I don't have silverware so I guess I will keep waiting.... I did finally see a manager on the floor about 5 minutes ago, but he helped a group of two new guys and left again. I suppose he's not a fan of the team I'm rooting on today. Being in the industry I am befuddled as to why he wasn't out here when the kid was really weeded. Furthermore how can you expect a bartender to work a bar top this large, three high tops, two booths, and a device well alone on a Friday? Again, it's unfortunate this place struggles so much, I would love to be able come here since it's so close to home, but in the future I'll just wait for a spot at the pint room or even the basement at Woody's.

So I have never been a fan of Detour, so I was glad Scotty's moved into here... I went a few weeks back, setting my buddy up for a double date. The atmosphere was pretty much identical to the Detour that was in before, so that seemed a little weird. The staff seemed nice, and our waitress was nice as well. From the 101oz beer tabletop thing we got, to the food, though, everything seemed pretty spot on. I liked my 2lb burger, the appetizers we got (buffalo dip especially) were great. Why is this not a 5 star? It wasn't over-the-top great. The food was pretty good though, and the experience was nice, but for some reason I prefer the 96th street Scotty's.

I went here for the final four. Scotty's is your typical sports bar with a good selection of beer's you would expect and ok food. I guess a lot of people headed downtown for the game because the bar was not crowded. When I sat down at the bar I was ID and I asked for a beer menu. The woman to gave me the menu was very nice but never returned to take my order. It took almost 15 min (I was timing for my review) for me to catch someone's eye to take my order. Even though the staff were very nice, they were not busy and still not attentive to me. I ordered take-out food (hamburgers) that were decent. The special burger I had was lamb and very good. Often burgers will just taste like burgers, but this one still kept its "lamb" flavoring. My side salad had way to much cheese.

I like the atmosphere, food was good and lots of selections. The staff could be a little more friendly but they did have open interviews going on the day we were there. We had kids with and some of the waitstaff didn't seem thrilled which they might want to work on because they do a lot of marketing for kids. We went on Tuesday and it was kids eat free. All in our party liked the food and beer and I would definitely go back .

The food is mediocre. Not particularly bad, but nothing special. The Three Wise Men beer that they specialize in just isn't that good. Of all the truly excellent local craft beer in central Indiana, Three Wise Men just doesn't hold up with many of the others. So-so pub fare, not-that-great beer, I can live with that, but the problem with the Carmel Scotty's is the service. And it is a big problem. It's terrible, simply unacceptable. Everything that they do here, several other places in very close proximity do better. Better food, better beer, better prices, better service. Seriously, just skip this place and go to Bub's or The Pint Room or Muldoon's or several others all within walking distance.

Good place to sit and have a beer and appetizers after a long bike ride from broadripple, food was as expected from a pub.

We've been to Scotty's several times since the switch from detour for drinks while watching football. We finally decided to try some food. Right off the bat, seeing the quantity of offerings on the menu I was worried the food would be mediocre. I don't think any kitchen that is offering that many options could do many well. We got wings and a wrap and both were fine... not the best thing I've ever eaten but certainly not the worst. No complaints on service! Love having Three Wisemen (especially $5 growler fills once a month) closer to home!

Oh Scotty, you have a high standard to live up to, especially in downtown Carmel, where the "high" in "high maintenance" is raised ten more notches. I want to start with the GOOD. We were seated quickly despite it being pretty crowded a week after opening on a Sunday afternoon. We had our two kiddos and they happily accommodated us with the child's menu and a booster very quickly. It was Sunday so "kids eat free" was VERY appealing. Our toddlers hate to share a meal and yet, never finish a damn thing we order for them, so this is a HUGE score in DT Carmel. Star added. Our server was sweet and very helpful. I loved that our kids were top priority to keep us all happy, bringing out their food before ours and getting them a pre-meal snack of ranch and carrots. It's a great way to "hold them over". VERY smart, Scotty. The meal would have otherwise been $10 more bucks if we paid for the kids, b/c the meals they chose were expensive. Down a star. I don't get the overcharging of kids' meals. But anyway - moving on (it was free). They had LOTS of great kid meal options; where most people only have 3-4, I felt Scotty took it to another level with the multiple choices. They also have gluten free options and unique fun kid foods. I can get into that. More good - there is a little toy chest the kiddos get to choose from. This was a big hit while I was attempting to finish my meal. AWESOME - the tater tots. Um....really good. The tenderloin was large and impressively breaded. I enjoyed it a lot. I tried my daughter's cheeseburger and it was delicious. It was big enough for a 20 year old vs. a 2 year old, but I suppose that's the appeal. I don't generally eat that kind of thing but we were in a sport's bar so I gave them a go. Fried food at its finest. Downsides - I was unimpressed that nothing was updated since becoming a Scotty's. Detour's decor was a bit drab to begin with and I am not a fan of the bar area. I tried to peak around the corner (my daughter was holding my hand) and one of the high school gals working the welcome counter, scolded me stating "that is for those over 21". Um....yes, I know. I wasn't trying to get my 2 year old a beer. I was just checking it out. She really needs to slow her roll and maybe I will too. Generally, there was nothing special about Scotty's in Carmel. We will go back if we are taking the kiddos out on a Sunday but otherwise, I doubt we make our way this direction very often. It is going to do just fine in the location, but it's not blowing my mind in any way.

Some day Scott Wise is going to have a Scotty's Brewhouse in every city in America. If not we can at least dream. The world would be a better place if that was the case. Important factors here. Order a wrap, or a burger or a sandwich. Anything with buffalo sauce in it is going to be great. Lots of drink choices for pint night and some pretty cocktails that I have yet to try. This place is amazing. The downtown one is amazing. So are the muncie, castleton, and Bloomington ones. Good for kids, great for adults, good food, relaxed atmosphere and did I mention good food?

The portions are very small. The burgers are practically kid's meal. Wings are just oven baked with store bought buffalo sauce. You need to spend a lot of money for lunch or dinner.

I cannot believe this place is only rated 3 stars?? I dream about this food (I visited on business). Let's start with our appetizers, we had the fried pickles, which have now spoiled fried pickles for me everywhere else, because they were SO AMAZING. Perfect fry! The sauces that they brought out in addition were absolutely amazing, we really liked the horseradish one. I ordered the Schumann burger-the one with peanut butter. I did this with anxiety, I don't normally order things like this, but I was pushing out of my comfort zone. It was the best burger I have ever had in my life. So good. I had to take a few of the jalapenos off because they are super fresh and burned a bit, but oh my god. I wish I could have it shipped to me once a month. Service was fantastic and it was pretty busy.

Excellent food, outstanding service, kids eat free Tuesdays and Sundays with free VIP membership, and great community involvement! What's not to love?! I recommend Scotty's to everyone: friends, family, tourists, and strangers at the grocery store. Try them out, you won't be disappointed.

How can you not love this place? It's local. They have a wide selection of beer. They offer a huge kids meal. They have delicious gluten free options. Make your own crazy burgers. Calorie conscious food options are available. Crazy shakes such as the twinkie shake. The list goes on and on.

Kudos to manager Richard Norris. He followed up with me by phone after my review and listened patiently to the concerns I had. He asked that he have some time to rectify the issues and then he would like my family to come back for a lunch on him. We had a lovely lunch today. The waitress was fantastic. The food was great. It came out of the kitchen quickly and the presentation was wonderful. Everything tasted fantastic. We all enjoyed ourselves. I am most impressed that Richard cared enough to really fix the issues. No excuses were made. He acknowledged a problem and worked to eradicate it. That type of work ethic is to be acknowledged and commended. Well done sir!

I've been eating at Scotty's for years and have had a lot of great meals, burgers, pasta, salads, wraps, grilled cheese. Heck, I've ate at a Scottys twice in the past few months. Sadly, I think this location is cursed. While I loved detour and liked their food, many other people didn't and that's why they're out of business. There must be some kind of ghost here haunting whatever restaurateurs dare to claim this piece of real estate. I went here with some business clients and everything was fine until five minutes after we ordered, the waiter said they were out of fish and chips and only had enough for one order. Mind you, they were specifically advertising a special menu for LENT and there are a ton of Catholics that live on the north side. How do you run out of fish on a Friday, in the middle of LENT at 11:30 in the morning? I insisted my client take it and I ordered something else. Mine came out first, ten minutes later we asked where the other orders were. The expediter said that there was only one item on the ticket. Then one of the orders showed up. My client insisted that the 2 of us start eating. By the time the second order came up, my food was cold. Her order arrived a whopping 20 minutes after ours and her fish and chips were burnt to a crisp. She even said, holy crap it's burnt when the person set the food down and no response from the expediter. She could barely eat her food. Our waiter never came to check on our table and after a good 45 minutes of him being MIA I asked the hostess to send over a manager. He was nice enough to take her burnt food off the bill but I was pretty disappointed. Plus it took our waiter another 15 minutes to bring the bill and my clients were late to their next meeting. We arrived at 11:30, didn't leave until 1:15 because the service was seriously that slow. If I was the manager I would have said "Let me take that off your bill" and then I would have brought the check myself. Perhaps he ignored the fact that I told him that our waiter was no where to be found the entire time we were dining there. I'm so used to have quick and friendly service and our waiter was completely clueless. In his defense, his entire section was full with at least 8 tables all at the same time. He probably had more than that which is why he kept disappearing. At lunch time during March Madness, you'd think they'd have more people on staff. Not happy, bad food, slow service, and the staff seemed indifferent. I didn't pick the place, but I was pretty embarrassed. That was not something I wanted to have happen during a business dinner with one of my most important clients. I mean, I get it, I'm in hospitality, and sometimes your place just has an off day, but after years of always having great service, I was really shocked. Update 3/31/15 I reached out to the customer service email directly and did get a response from the GM. I'll be going back to give it another shot and when I do, I will update my review. I'm sure they were just having an off day.

The staff were friendly and I appreciated the Thr3e Wise Men pitchers. The offer a light and gluten free menu so a great place if you are taking a group. It has a corporate restaurant feel and agree with other comments doesn't look much different than Detour. One HUGE difference is the service and wait time is greatly improved. The appetizers were very salty (to point not appetizing inedible, which kept this from being a 4 star). The Luke's Cajun Steak Ranchero wrap was delicious with the Sriracha mayo. Unfortunately, the garlic parm fries were ice cold.

Came in on a Thursday night for a relaxed dinner with my wife. Greeted and seated immediately by a friendly hostess. THE FOOD: Excellent as usual. We ordered the house salad, tenderloin sandwich, steamed broccoli, rosemary chicken & dumpling soup, black & blue salad, and Hubbards & Craven's decaf and everything was very flavorful and served at the appropriate temperatures. Portion sizes are generous. Hated to leave half of the excellent coffee in the French Press when we left, but we were told the restaurant was out of to-go cups. Oh well. Still a great meal. THE SERVICE: The wait staff was very friendly, but my wife could not eat for 10 minutes after the house salad arrived because we had no utensils or napkins. We did manage to flag down one of the servers from another section to give us utensils and napkins. There is room for improvement in the service area, but fortunately we were not in a rush tonight so it didn't bother us so much. Also, everyone we observed was giving forth effort, so as people get more experience under their belts the level of service should improve. BAD NEWS / GOOD NEWS: At the end of dinner we were initially told that our $10 anniversary gift from Scotty's eClub did not apply to the promotional special we ordered. The manager came to our table and apologized that the system did not accept the discount which was very good customer service. That was the bad news. The good news came a few minutes later when the waiter said the system automatically took $10 off the check after he entered our phone number registered in our eClub account. So we learned something more about the eClub and how the rewards are automatically applied without any extra effort from the restaurant staff. That's nice to know for future reference.

Just left this restaurant we waited at a table for 15 minutes to not even get drinks. We went to the host desk to wait for the manager for another 5 minutes and all she said was sorry for the miscommunication, what does that even mean? We will never go back to this location again.

Absolutely horrible service-in the restaurant and bar for 10 minutes-not even an acknowledgement when we sat down at the bar. Disappointed.

My husband and I came in before a play down the street to get lunch and we were hoping for a nice lunch. However the food took a long time to come out and was very cold and half our order wasn't correct. The waitress seemed flustered and air headed. Wasn't the best experience...

Nice bar, I stop in occasionally to have a beer and watch a game. On my last visit the place, including the bar area, seemed more like a Chuck E Cheese with all of the kids running around. The playground and toys in a corner of the dining area probably created this. Great for parents who want to let their kids run wild while they eat but bad news for adults wanting to have a cocktail and relax.

A perfect "pig with lipstick" analogy comes to mind. Still Detour look, feel and service (horrible) with Scotty's name on it. Showed up a little after 10. 3 bartenders on but the bar was only 25% full. Took 8 minutes before the bartender showed. Ordered Miller Lite and a three wiseman amber. She said that there is no amber..I said how about a citrus based...she rolled her eyes and gave me the drink menu. I ordered a brown and she gave me a pale ale. At least it was brown I guess. She brought back the beers and said "this is the last Miller Light"??? Who runs out of Miller Light going into the weekend?? I asked when they close and a bartender said whenever we want....they, at that point, meant it as they put down everyone's tabs and turned the lights up. I'm not sure what time it was but the SA playoff game was still on and it was definitely way before midnight. Can someone in Carmel train bartenders to be hospitable?? Just amazing

The last few times we've been here it's just gotten worse and worse. We ate at a table in the bar the other night with some friends and the bartender/server was completely rude. After running our credit cards twice incorrectly and reprimanding US because he got it wrong, I'm kind of over this place. Bad attitude and the food isn't what it used to be. It's too bad, I was excited when it opened, but this is the second time in a month we've had bad food and service.

Wow, check your take out orders! I ordered 4 items and 3 had major problems. And the 4th item had sub par tots. On the menu it states that the Pulled Pork Sandwich has Slaw and the Buffalo Breath Salad has dressing. My pulled pork sandwich had NO slaw and the dressing for my Buffalo Breath was an extra side of hot sauce. I asked for Ranch dressing on my Black and Bleu salad and I got Blue Cheese dressing. On top of that, I called and was directed to the manager. It took the manager about one minute that he was talking to one of his customers. He thought I was an employee. Wow. Maybe the issues are from the top down.... But the salads are good, when done right

Update: long waits are over and beers are back in stock. Food and service still need a bit of work but things are getting better. Going from 1 to 3 stars for now. --------- This location needs a lot, I mean a LOT of work: - Cold food - Long waits to sit - Very uncomfortable booths - Long waits for food - Chips and salsa recipe used to taste fresh but now seems like it's from a can - Out of stock on beers and wine C'mon Scott you can do better. And bring back the Red Hots!!

Servers are friendly, the food is awesome and the drink specials are hard to beat. They are very accommodating to food allergies as well! I will definitely be back!

Went to Scotty's for a pre-show dinner before heading to the Palladium to see Jim Belushi. We were greeted and promptly seated in the bar area and then our super friendly waitress Courtney came by. She quickly picked up on my beer indecisiveness and offered to bring me a sample to help me choose. Ended up with the Snow Bunny Blonde Ale. Solid. Courtney made note that we were on a show schedule to make sure our food and service was timely. She suggested the bourbon chicken tacos on the "limited time only" menu. I took her suggestion and they were fantastic. Also had the shoestring fries which were perfect. Think steak and shake fries but truly perfected. Also had broccoli as a side and normally broccoli does not warrant any more mention than a garnish but this broccoli was magical. After scarfing down the tender and tasty florets I inquired about their prep. Courtney claims it was just salt, pepper and butter. Maybe... My wife had a salad that she thoroughly enjoyed and a margarita that she described as just average. Small downer in what was otherwise a delightfully surprising home run experience. Great food, great service. Did I mention that upon sitting down Courtney genuinely complimented my wife's outfit? Always gets the evening off to a great start. Go Scotty's.

Living really close, I was excited to try out one of the many new restaurants in the area. My family decided to give Scotty's a try - especially with the special on appetizers. Strap yourselves in - here we go Chicken wings - mild. - The quality of the wings were good (actually, they were all drumsticks)..but the sauce was like drinking vinegar. The vinegar was so overwhelmingly strong, you could smell it across the table. Then came the mini-corn dogs. These were probably the highlight of the meal - that's not really saying much. We had a burger - Im pretty sure the meat was frozen and just tasted like inexpensive meat. Of, and we ordered it completely plain, yet it arrived with pickles on top. According to my wife, pickles are pure evil. Unlike lettuce..they leave behind their pickle residue. We opted for the shoe string fries - meh, pretty much your garden variety frozen fries. Next, the kids quesadilla - ok..as you would expect - cheese and tortilla. This came with waffle fries - and those, like the shoe string fries, were almost no better than something from Kroegers. Out last hope is the chicken nuggets. Oh-My-God..gross. I am one of those people who hate to leave food on the table..and that was it..I think the fryer was overwhelmed with every meal coming from it... Also, this came with the steak fries. No, just..no. We were pretty early - so no issues getting a seat. Service was fine, not bad, not exceptional..a little mistake on the bill, but that was quickly fixed. So, there you have it. At this point, there is no hope of a return visit...even if it was free.

I do not understand the negative reviews. Is it busy? Absolutely! Because the food is inventive for a sports bar, and the beer is excellent. The wait staff is kind and considerate. Join their VIP club for free and get some outstanding benefits. Look, you're here for burgers, sports, beer, and more burgers. You will be very happy with those things. I'm excited to have Scotty's in Carmel.

Such friendly waitstaff! Plenty of choices on the menu for everyone in our party. Nice casual atmosphere and great beer list. Fish tacos good, pork tacos even better. Steak sandwich was awesome - just the right spicy.

I'm not a fan of the atmosphere at Scotty's. It feels too much like a college bar. However, the food is usually pretty good. Service can be hit or miss.

We had a great server! Chris was one of the best servers we have had in a long time! He was attentive, knowledgeable, and offered us choices we didn't even know existed! Best service in a while & We eat out A LOT... Make sure you ask for Chris the next time you are at Scotty's! Oh & my husband says"try the peanut butter burger! It's Devine !" Lol

I was never a huge fan of Detour so was extremely happy to see the change. Detour reminded me of a college bar with bad food. Personally, I am not the biggest fan of Brewpubs but Scotty's Brewhouse has been a nice addition to Carmel. Great beer selection and you "gots to get some tots." My wife and I took my parents here just this past Sunday and even though the Colts were playing we did not wait long and there was an exciting energy with many of the games on. The food is better than expected and fun place to hang out. Our favorite is the parmesan garlic shoestring fries and we will be going back soon for the all you can eat wings on Mondays. Cheers!

We have long loved Scotty's on 96th street and were excited to see one open down the street but no way does this match up. The food was awful, the tossed salad had wilted, chicken like rubber and the cucumbers were bad. We will stick to the 96th street location.

This has become our regular Friday night, occasional Saturday and usually-stop-in-for-one Sunday place and we love it. Now, in all honesty, we come for the $6 mugs (or gallons as I call them- they are quite large) - we get the Three Wise Men beers, which are great. I never used to enjoy beer, but I like these ones. In fact, I don' think I've ever had a cocktail here... But I digress.. Anyhow, we like the beer selection and pricing and we've only ever sat at the bar and have had the tortilla chips and dip trio, buffalo chicken dip, steak salad, fiesta salad, boneless wings and a few more things, which have been great. Pretty standard bar fare, but it doesn't all taste frozen or loaded with preservatives. At least if it is, I can't tell! They have gluten free options and a low fat menus, too. Not that I order from them, but it's good to see that people with dietary needs or preferences have that option, too. It's a pretty social bar crowd as well. We've met some great people there, which is great for us since we're new to the area. Thanks, Scotty's!

Best drink specials in town every day of the week! The bar is next to a garage door that opens to the patio when it's nice out. I highly recommend going here if you're in downtown carmel

Always have had great service. I have been to the bar mostly but the staff already knows my name. I just moved in across the street and I'm glad some place like this is right around the corner. Good food & good drinks.

Wings are fantastic. The garlic teriyaki are the best. They have a fairly good variety of beers and cocktails. I also love the fried pickles and the Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich (on pretzel bun) is RIDICULOUSLY GOOD. The servers have always been incredibly friendly and efficient. However, the food takes too long to arrive at the table and is often luke warm when it arrives.

Been waiting for an hour-and-a-half with a large group. Was told one hour wait. Now there are empty tables to seat all of us but restaurant is refusing to seat us because the kitchen is backed up. Just told food service would be another 45 min. We had kids with us. They should have given us information on wait period and food. If I could give service a negative, I would.

We had a party of 9 last night for my birthday. # 1 they were not busy at all at 6 pm. our server obviously had NO restaurant experience. We waited and waited and waited. Our food finally came out only to find it overcooked and burned and taste like crap. How do you screw up a grilled cheese sandwich. We had two hungry kids who had waited for their food only to find they couldn't even eat it. Out of 7 adults 2 orders were tolerable. **** The server wiped his nose with his hand after he put our plates down then I watched him go back in the kitchen and come back out with someone else's order.. GROSS........................... the manager came over and I explained to her how awful everything was and about her server. She apologized and gave me 20.00 to spend on my next visit.. Trust me sister, there won't be a next visit to your place. I will go to the 96th street one. They have their act together. We were there 2 hours for crappy food.. People.. go somewhere else, don't waste your time and hard earned money on this place. Put a big damper on my b'day dinner.. Which I didn't even eat.. I could go on and on about other things but will leave it at that.

Went here for an early dinner on a Friday night. Our server was knowledgable about the drinks and daily specials. Service was prompt. My husband had the mofo chicken salad. He thought it had too much sauce. I had the sweet chicken wrap. It was delicious. Perfect temperature. My fries were cold, and my server noticed that I didn't eat most of them and offered me something else instead. All in all, it's a good place to stop. They are a new place and have some kinks to work out, but we would go back. Ask for tori! She took great care of us.

Sat at the bar had Katie taking care of us she was awful very rude and impatient. They were by no means busy. The Pacers game was starting and not on a single tv but instead on some movie channel. The food was no presented like I'm used to seeing. If you want to visit a Scotty's I suggest going to the one downtown. Never coming back!!

Great breakfast option for Saturdays at new Scotty's. Patio is in shade in the morning so bring a jacket to see and been seen on the monon. Great food options. We had breakfast tacos and southern skillet. Generous portions and hit the spot. We wanted to have the Bloody Mary bar but it wasn't set up so ordered well bloodies - skip them as they are built from scratch and bartender was angeneu . Service was rough but until they are up and running it may take a while. If you want good servers patronize and tip well. I did. Good servers follow the crowds.

NOT READY FOR PRIMETIME Ordinarily, my wife and I like Scotty's and their brewery, 3 Wise Men in Broad Ripple. But their restaurant in Carmel, Indiana is not ready for customers. We've tried several times and all but one have been unpleasant and befuddling experiences. They have this tendency to hold people in the waiting area even though there are tables aplenty just because the kitchen isn't efficient. So, they'd rather tick customers off rather than seating them and at least letting them order a beverage or two? This inefficiency and ineptness is something we experienced three our of the last three times we went there. It's not like we didn't give it our best shot. The last time, last week, we were seated outside right away, but eventually left when no one came to our table! We went to The Pint Room at the end of the block and had a delightful meal. Scotty's doesn't seem to realize they have competition. It's just as well we left, the music they have piped outside is SO LOUD YOU CAN'T CARRY ON A CONVERSATION. It's going to be a while before we go back to Scotty's in Carmel. Too bad. It's within walking distance of where we live. But there are too many other places we can walk to without experiencing the idiocy managed by Scotty's.

I love the location and the nice variety of food on the menu. Food quality isn't bad. Service is very poor though. The first time i visited, the new bartender served someone an un-opened can of beer! It was mind boggling! This past week I was there with friends, and the hostess was not friendly to start. Then our waitress was very poorly trained and not so friendly either or accommodating at all. Plus rude to my friends. Luckily the manager stepped in and smoothed it over! Some training would help!

Multiple empty tables ready to go close to the entrance at 2pm on the Saturday before Memorial Day and they aren't seating people because "they are pacing the kitchen". I have eaten there before and the food is pretty tasty albeit a tad overpriced but they need new management. Very disappointing.

Save your time and money and go else ware. On weekends you will wait an hour to get a table then another hour just to receive your food. If the food were good it would make up for the wait but my chicken wings were extremely undercooked and the people I was with had extremely over cooked food.
