You walk in and see a sign that says "must be 21 or older." Then you see a swanky restaurant behind the sign and think that the place might be a little pretentious, but nice. Then a server comes over and you realize that this place is anything but pretentious. Never have I had such friendly, welcoming staff. The owner walks around singing and greeting people and the servers are the same. There is a great porch area that overlooks Rangeline Road and offers a lot of seating and umbrellas. The inside has a main dining room with high top, big group tables and booths. There is also a back room, closed off with a curtain that can be used on busy nights or private events. The food is interesting and delicious. I ordered the Berry Nice Salad, Jalapeño Corn Creme Brûlée, Chicken Minis, and S'mores Brûlée dessert. The salad had a vinegar based dressing that matched well with the sweet berries and nuts. The chicken sliders were smothered in barbecue and served with homemade pickles. The Corn Creme Brûlée is what this place is known for and can only be described as a "fiesta in your mouth." And obviously, the s'mores dessert was ooey, gooey, and delicious. The only complaint is that the dinner menu is difficult to read. It would help if all the words lined up on the left side on both pages and if the meals were labeled more boldly. Besides being confused on what to order, this place is great and I will be back.

I am giving two stars because the food has generally been good; I am removing three stars because of the nonsensical age policy and the poor communication about it. Divvy is not a bar, but you can't dine here unless you're 21... unless you're 18 AND with a parent, then sure. None of these policies are posted outside the restaurant. Not realizing that only the person who gave birth to a young customer can vouch that he or she will be able to behave in a totally empty restaurant during the weekday lunch hour, I recently erred in taking a summer intern to Divvy for a congratulatory lunch. We were seated on the patio, then a moment later the same employee came back and decided to check IDs before quasi-graciously offering us the opportunity to have lunch somewhere else. While I assume the idea here is to provide a place for nice meals where there are no screaming kids and high chairs, Divvy is certainly not so sophisticated that this type of policy about young adults of legal age is justified. I find it silly and distasteful, and I most likely will not be back. And by the way, this whole situation arose when the intern asked to go to Divvy for her congratulatory lunch- because she had been served there in the past and had really enjoyed it (evidently with parents). That certainly won't be what she remembers the next time someone suggests Divvy.

I love tapas bars and tiny-plates restaurants, and Divvy is kind of like that: each plate you order is meant to be shared between two people. It's a great date place for that reason! It gives you something to talk about because you're experiencing a new dish at the same time. We ordered the beef empanadas, corn creme brûlée, and the lobster quesadilla. It doesn't sound like much, but each dish was super rich, so we ended up stopping after three plates. Our server was awesome and suggested that we order one or two things at a time, finish those, and if we want to order more then add it to the tab. That was a smart move because we probably would have ordered six or seven things, then regretted ordering so much food! On a side note: The chairs on their patio are super comfortable! It's like they want you to linger and talk and stay a while here.

Divvy is a small-portion, tapas-style restaurant that really impressed us. This was my first visit to Divvy - not sure how I missed this place for so long, being that I'm a big fan of the City Center area. Divvy is 21 and over, even in the outside seating area, so maybe that's why we hadn't tried it. Our son usually comes with us everywhere. This is a trendy place in an upscale area, so be prepared for a higher than average bill. However, the quality of the food is outstanding. The porterhouse steak was unbelievable, served medium rare and seasoned perfectly. The other standout was the lobster quesadilla, which was nicely presented and made me want to order about 3 more. The cucumber-infused table water was interesting, as was the "New Fashioned" cocktail. I highly recommend Divvy for a fun and different dining experience. We'll be back with friends next time.

Always a great experience to visit here. The food is adventurous and creative. I started with some sort of brie and apple on a crusty bread. I liked the individual ingredients but altogether did not. On the other hand, the mac n cheese was to die for even so I don't usually like that dish. This made a believer out of me. Crusty cheesyness on top with gooey cheesy macaroni underneath. Omg We sampled the Buffalo chicken, beet salad, steak bites, scallops, and pork egg rolls. For dessert I devoured the creme Brule. .. yes I licked the tiny bowl to make sure I get every bit of this yummy dessert. I washed it all down with a divvy politan, a smooth but potent concoction with fruit juices and vodka, heavy on the vodka. Service was impeccable as always.

Overall, I really enjoyed myself last night. I'll just point out a few things that stood out to me- The menu is a little intimidating at first. I think just picking 2 or 3 items per person is just perfect. I was relatively full after 2 dips and 1 app which was split between 3 people but we still ordered 2 more dishes because we wanted to try more. On Wednesday nights they have half off carafe cocktails for $7. I got the sassy sangria which was great. For dinner, we got the feta dip, olive tapenade, goat cheese truffles, smokey fries, shrimp dish, and a warm brownie for dessert. All were excellent and had a lot of different flavors. Our server was super attentive. Maybe sometimes maybe a little too attentive. I know that sounds super picky but we constantly were getting interrupted so she could give us a new plate or see how the food was. On the other hand, she was really knowledgable about the menu and had a recommendation for every page which was super handy. I also took notice that it was all women in the restaurant. It's definitely a great place for a girls night out but I was a little surprised that more men in general weren't there. Kind of funny. Overall, I'd really recommend it for a more pricey dinner option. It was fun trying different dishes and splitting the plates.

First of all, the service was nice. But major points off for the food. We came here for lunch and everything we ordered was absolutely saturated in oil. My pork chili was inedible... It's pretty clear to me that the chef didn't remove the grease from the pan after frying the meat. Our waitress apologized profusely for the chili and took it off the bill, however, everything else at our table suffered from gratuitous use of oil, which is really unfortunate.

One of my favorite restaurants to go to during the summer months because of their great outdoor space overlooking downtown Carmel and the delicious selection of food and drinks. The menu is made up of small, shareable items that spans around 18 pages and are filled with categories such as Ooey Gooey Goodness, Rabbit Food, Fowl, Swine, Ocean, Comfort, etc. The menu is pretty extensive so everyone should be able to find something that they like. Their drinks selection is also extensive with many beer, wine, and mixed drink options and flight samples. I've always found the servers to be prompt, upbeat and eager to help you decide on drinks and food if need be. My must-haves include the beer cheese fondue served with pretzel and pita bread and the Crispin with Blackberry. Whatever you order, I doubt you will be disappointed! This place can be great for a date night or with a group of friends (including well-behaved pups), so add this to your summer to do list and go!

Oh where do I start? What a horrible experience. We had a group of about 16 people who went to Divvy on 7/16/2015 to celebrate a birthday. It seemed the waitress must've decided that since 20% gratuity is automatically added for large parties, she would not have to provide good service or even be polite for that matter. They sat us at the back where the entire wall is a bench seat - they pushed several tables together in front of the bench seat. We immediately separated the tables ourselves so that we could get in and out during the meal. The waitress was outwardly enraged that we moved the tables. They expected us to all slide behind the tables so that we were eight people deep up against a wall - meaning there was only one entrance and exit. One person has to use the restroom - all 8 people have to move. We were not having that. This started off the evening badly and it never recovered from there. Let me be clear, our waitress was very very rude to all of us all night long. She did not even attempt to be polite. She was angry and rude. Unacceptable! It took me over 20 minutes to get my first alcoholic beverage. I had to order my second drink THREE times and that one took about 30 minutes to get to the table. She wrote it down but kept asking me - what did you order? Seriously. My friends all had the same issues - took forever to get drinks. She could've upsold our table by hundreds of dollars if she could have just served us some drinks. The food was subpar at best. The "bruléed" brie was NOT bruléed (brulée means burnt from the verb bruler to burn) - not even warm - it was 4 pieces of brie on 4 pieces of bread with slices of apple and fig jam. BORING and overpriced at 9$. Then I had the Stonefruit Salmon which per the menu is BROILED... um, yeah, NO. It was maybe poached - no color to it at all. It was not good. Again BORING and overpriced at 13$ for a few bites. So as far as the food goes - false advertisement. Good notes: my friend really enjoyed the wine tasting - probably because she was all content with her three glasses of wine while we were all waiting for liquor drinks. The pimento puffs were the best thing I ate all night - the Fresno pepper sauce served with it was yummy. Yeah for 8$ fried cheese!

Great place to go with a group of people to share food. If you're not sure what to order talk to your server, he/she will give you some recommendations. Suggest starting with appetizers, then go to veggies and meat together. It's more of a food experience and you should take your time, drink wine and enjoy the meal. I normally am not a Brussels sprout fan, but those were the best I've ever had. Steak bites and Mac and cheese were very good as well. Not a big fan of the bacon dip but we ordered that at the end and were full.

This restaurant looks good, with very good servers, and fine food. But I failed the reading comprehension test and they failed my internal value index.

Made a reservation for a booth for two, celebrating a special occasion. When we checked in with the hostess she showed us to a table for four. The wine flights were tasty and appropriately priced. Being this is a small plates dining experience and we started with white wine, we ordered cheese fondue and cream cheese wontons for our first course. The cheese for the fondue tasted like a very floury béchamel sauce given no attention. As for the cream cheese wontons... Head to your local Walmart and steer towards the frozen appetizers and you've got Divvy version.

"Over 21" put a picture of a wine bar in my mind. Yet when I was finally able to shed my "under 21"s and check out Divvy for lunch I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of the offering on all fronts: snacks, lunch combos, "fowl food", seafood, red meat, pork (all have at least a page on the menu)... and that is before you even start browsing through wine, cocktails (Ederflower looks like a spinach health drink yet is so much happier in reality!) and local brews (Sun King, Upland). Corn creme brûlée has been praised by reviewers for a good reason (robust burned sugar over sweet and spicy creaminess). I am here to sing the praises to yogurt cucumber soup. Dill-infused freshness on a hot day! Lemon-cucumber water helps along the same lines. Cherry cloud desert was good, but more standard than the rest of the meal. Solid quality coffee. The patio space is well protected from the sun by multiple umbrellas and overlooks well groomed Carmel City center. Can not wait to come back for more extensive tour of the menu.

Good; service, decor, noise level, bianc even, shareable plates. Healthy-try Brussel sprouts. Unhealthy/try cte brûlée corn with rustic bread, pimento puffs, beer float, awesome cocktails, shareable carafes, great place to impress clients, share l, sip, savor and have low key fun. Nice staff and one anger or owner always goes above and beyond. Staff is also honest about what's great and whTs not Bad: rustic bread has a little much salt and often a little too cooked. Quail is eh, and things are a little pricey-but many worth it Great little escape place and usually can always get a table-it's dead during the weekdays/but I like the special service and lack of wait times

The 3 stars I give are for the phenomenal dishes (there's not a single one you won't like) and the nice service from the front desk and our server. The 2 stars I do not give are for the bad bar service, and on a springtime Saturday night. We waited far too long for drinks in which I could not seem to taste a drop of alcohol (making the drinks' price seem steep). Perhaps it was just a one-time occurrence; I hope so. If not, though... As a popular weekend spot, Divvy needs to get more bodies behind the bar to crank out stronger cocktails. I still highly recommend going for the food and atmosphere, though! Great for a celebration in a group.

It's always a great meal at Divvy, I have yet to find a dish on the menu that I'm not a fan of. The menu takes a couple minutes to get through, but be sure to not over order on the front side, there is something fantastic on every page. Fair warning, it gets really busy before events at the Palladium, but service is always fantastic.

We visited for the first time on a cold evening and the dining room was full already at 7:30pm. Good sign... Pros: Great service, friendly hostess, classy decor and ambience. Sports channels were on all tvs. It's semi-dark, so perfect for a romantic dinner date. They have a great outdoor patio on the side of the building. The dessert trio was delicious! We chose the chocolate puff tarts, brownies, and key lime pie. We both basically came short of licking the plate. Tuesday drink special was half carafes of wine for $10. I had the Reisling and it was sweetly delicious. They offer a small menu of local craft beers as well. Their Divvy water is infused with cucumber and it was delicious. It's complimentary upon being seated. The calamari and pulled pork sliders (order of 3 each) were fantastic and worth every penny. Cons: Small plates = small portions for a high price. Two of us shared three plates and a dessert trio and it was enough to make us full but at a high price. Cocktails were not well blended. Very strong. I had the bourbon one and it was not good at all. I didn't even finish it. *3 local beer drafts + 1 half carafe of wine +1 cocktail + 3 small plates + 1 dessert trio = $90 before tip for 2 people.

Service was good, food was alright but too pricey for the quality. A two tablespoon portion of creme brûlée was $3 and considered something to share. Would not go to with a large party.

Divvy is under-rated. The small plate format is fun and allows sharing and sampling a variety of dishes. The wine selection is limited but decent and the prices are reasonable. Parking is easy with the complimentary valet. We particularly liked the fried hominy, which was unexpectedly tasty. The grilled bok choy is also good.

Great evening with a couple small plates! We had chorizo meatballs and mushroom polenta cakes. Will definitely return as we enjoy small plates.

I am a bit torn as to give 3.5 or 4 stars, but I'll round up. Reasons to like Divvy: + They have an expansive menu, even for Gluten Free dishes + The menu notes which items are Gluten Free, Lactose Free, and/or Vegan + No kids allowed in the restaurant! You must be 21+ + Small plates, so you can spend as little or as much as you want and easily try multiple dishes + Complimentary Valet Service offered at the Carmel City Center Tuesday- Saturday Evening + Modern and separate bar area + Personable bartender Thoughts on some of their offerings: - Dark Daquiri- smooth rum drink - New-Fashioned- very sweet and you really didn't taste the bourbon, which can be a bad thing -Apple Brie Salad- The ingredients were fresh and the dressing was good. It wasn't overpowering. There was a lot of brie wedges on the salad if your a fan of cheese. Overall, it is a good mix of flavors; however, I would have preferred feta instead. - Potato Hash- Hands down the best dish during my dining experience. The balsamic and bacon combo is hard to resist. - Chorizo Balls- A surprisingly sweet and enjoyable dish that was hard to resist - Grilled Strip Steak- Some what of a let down -Dueling Devils- A interesting take on deviled eggs. The Thai chili pepper was a bit more understated in the taste when compared to the southwest jalapeno, which packed a mighty punch.

We were visiting friends in Indianapolis when they suggested we go to Divvy for dinner. There were 6 of us. I like that there are no kids allowed-- although if you have kids, you may not love that. But I think it gives it the ability to remain upscale and sometimes you just want an adult atmosphere... so sue me. The cocktails were great-- creative and delicious. The location is nice but parking is a little difficult-- luckily, they have valet parking. The waiters/waitresses are very well versed in the menu and the food so they were able to explain everything. I would say we got like 12 dishes? And I would say I would have ordered 11 of them again they were that good. And the only reason I didn't say 12 is I believe that we ordered something that just ended up not being my style. Everything was delicious, well seasoned, well thought up... seriously... I was impressed that this restaurant was here in Carmel being that I have lived in New York City. I haven't been to many restaurants that can successfully pull off this tapas style of eating without you either being hungry afterwards or feeling like you've paid a ton of money for not a lot of food. We were very happy with everything. I would definitely go back the next time I am in Indy.

It's date night. Where to go, where to go? I was thinking tapas and since Sonya A. has reviewed all the local options and gave this place a thumbs up, I made a reservation. We arrived at 7:35, 10 minutes early for our reservations. First highlight of the night, free valet parking on the weekend. The place was completely full because Kenny Rogers was playing at the palladium at 8pm. Even still, we got seated immediately. Obviously the kitchen and wait staff was tapped out, and I love how the waitress, Jen, handled the situation. She stopped by our table and welcomed us, but told us it would be a few minutes before she could actually get back to us. She wanted to close all the open tables that were trying to get to the show. No big deal, because the menu is like 20 pages long and each page is full of a different category of tapas. Not traditional, Spanish tapas. But more like a tapas portion of eclectic new American cuisine. This level of amazing service continued all night. Drinks: they have a few local beers on tap, but tie best bet is the carafe if sangria. Round 1: beer cheese, tapenade, potato buns, and grilled rustic bread. All was delicious, but the grilled bread was much better than the potato. Round 2: corn creme brûlée, shredded chicken minis. A lot of reviews mention the corn creme brûlée. You must get it. It is life changing good. Packed a huge punch combo of savory, sweet, and spicy. Easily the highlight dish of the night Round 3: brûléed tofu. Meh. It was very bland. We would have been happier skipping that round. Round 4: blondie bites and s'mores brûlée. The waitress convinced us we needed more than the blondie bites. Although it was a small portion, the blondie bites are delicious and would have been a perfect sweet taste to the end of the meal. The s'mores were over the top. Next time we will stick to one dessert to share. Ambiance: it was loud when we arrived, but once most people left for the show we could comfortably have a private conversation. My wife insisted that give a shoutout to the music selection being played during dinner: I'll categorize it as modern eclectic. So much better than listening to soft elevator music for a couple hours. Overall, it's a great place with delicious food and superb service. Just know going in that it'll take a while to eat tapas and that you are going to spend double what you had in mind. We will definitely be back for a future date night.

I have been to Divvy several times since my original review. I really enjoy the feta whipped spread with garlic oil bread. It is so good with a touch of cucumbers. I also love getting wine flights for $12. It's a great way to enjoy wine. Nice touch. Recently though on both occasions (once for lunch and once for dinner) our service was just "meh". The most recent was last week. My gal pal and I wanted a midday late lunch with wine. No kids on our hip = true freedom! Divvy calls my name! The bartender initially started our service ten minutes after we arrived. She was going to bring us the infused water but somehow this task escaped her bc there were two "regulars" at her bar. Our actual server was incredibly uninterested in us and while she was friendly she certainly was forgetful (wine, side of ranch, refills). She was like "oh silly me" throughout the experience. I have about "thismuch" patience for this when a restaurant is practically empty and we are trying to drink our lunch! The grilled cheese was too sweet with the jam and the salad was ok. I don't know what to think. I hate when I get excited about a place and then generally am turned off by the littlest things. But it's just how it goes. Too many choices to keep dropping hard earned commissions on hit/miss. You know?

Went to Divvy for my second visit last night, like the small plates and sharing different tastes. They offer inside and outside dining, luckily we were under the awning when the thunderstorm broke out, if the weathers iffy get under the awning next to the building not one of the other tables where people had to bolt for cover. The staff did a good job with it. The arugula apple salad was severely lacking in taste, but the corn brûlée( staff calls it corn crack) made up for it with some nice spice and creaminess. The lemon zested raviolis were an excellent choice, but the barbecue sizzling shrimp was overcooked and too much sauce. Will get the corn Brûlée and ravioli on the next visit but will try some different dishes, which is one of the great unique things about Divvy.

Dinner club with 14. This place was new to me. The small plate order process was challenging but I just went with the flow and followed those who have been here before. Everything was delicious, you can really explore the menu and try different stuff. Service was par. Will be back to try more.

A single visit to Divvy made me a Divvy-believer. My friends live really close to this place and after dinner, we were all up for some drinks and desserts. It turned out that there was no better way to wrap a weekend night. My friends had told me that their desserts are small so we went for a trio of dessert and some sassy sangria. They were delicious and the sangria hit the spot perfectly. Now I understand why my friends like this place so much.

I attended Divvy during the Northern Light Nights special they had going on. We were able to enjoy a 4-course dinner for only $30 a piece so of course I was immediately lured in by price alone to try this place. I'm so glad I did. I did a white wine flight which featured 3 wines, and my friend did the sparkling wine flight. I have never been to a restaurant that offered a sparkling wine flight so they got major bonus points for that! For the first course I had the pork belly bites. These were like eating french toast and bacon all in one bite that was drizzled with maple syrup! A must for any breakfast/brunch enthusiast. My friend ordered the beer cheese with pita bread. This was also excellent. For the second course I had the corn creme brûlée. The waiter said it was their most popular dish and I could immediately see why. The red sea salt torched crust was a delicious balance to the naturally sweet corn. The portion was pretty big on this so I couldn't make myself finish it so I could save room for the other courses but my friend happily did. She had the salmon with whipped avocado for her second course. She liked it enough but didn't think it was very dynamic. My third course consisted of the steak bites and potatoes. These were good, but pretty average. My friend ordered the duck quesadilla with mango salsa and we both thought it was delicious. For the last course I tried the brownie bite smothered in fudge with fresh strawberries. This was the perfect sized portion and a tasty end to the evening. My friend had the creme brûlée which was also tiny, but after 3 other courses it was all she needed. I liked that it was 21+ and I would definitely go back.

We were the only people in the restaurant, we were dining at around 2pm. The service was excellent. Unfortunately they didn't have the salmon, which is what I was most excited to try. The corn brûlée was an unique approach to corn, we loved it. We also had the beef tenderloin and the pimento puffs. I would give the food 3 1/2 stars, but the service and the servers recommendations (because of the complicated menu) made the experience so much better. I would definitely go back.

The concept of this restaurant (small plates) is fun and all, but not ideal if you want be full after spending a decent amount of money. Everything I tried was good. The service was good. But I shouldn't be hungry after spending $30 or more per person.

We loved everything about this place! The decor is clean and modern, but could really do without all the TVs. The half carafe wine special was a great value. We started with the corn crime brûlée and grilled strip steak. Both were delicious and complemented one another well. The pimento puffs were light and rich at the same time and lobster dumplings wonderful as well. We ordered the Brussels sprouts as a lighter option but they may have been the heaviest dish we tried. Save room for dessert...we ordered the trio with the pistachio tiramisu, key lime, and home made marsh mellow s'mores which wasn't far the favorite! Great spot--can't wait to go back.

Such a disappointment! Divvy had two warning signs we ignored in the name of trying a new independent restaurant and being really hungry. 1) a neon sign saying "open." Upscale establishments don't have neon signs. 2) A menu so wordy and so filled with a zillion different dishes that it was almost unreadable. Lesson engrained: The more dishes a restaurant has, the worse the food usually is! We visited at lunch on a weekday and were the only people there. Nevertheless, we waited at the hostess stand for a long time before finally going around the corner to find a single waiter in the entire place on his phone. The quality of the food was the worst we'd had in a long time. You could eat better and fresher at a bland chain like Applebee's. We ordered an arugula, beets and goat cheese salad. The arugula was all wilted -- looked and tasted like week-old bagged lettuce you'd get a Walmart. We also ordered the Fiesta Favorites trio -- which should have been a beef, pulled pork and chicken empanada. What arrived was 3 puff pastries with the tiniest amount of meat. Worse, THEY WERE CLEARLY FROZEN AND RE-HEATED. Our waiter was very nice and informative. We showed him all the wilted arugula and he said he would inform the chef. Nothing was done. I know that wealthy, white, conservative cities aren't known for their culinary innovation. But Carmel deserves better restaurants! To the City Councilman who owns Divvy: give the people good, fresh (even local!) food!

I came here after a performance at the Palladium because it's open late. Had a "New Fashioned" (which, like most modern bars' takes on the Old Fashioned, was too sweet), the potato soup, and the mac and cheese with lobster. Both food items were delicious. The soup was thick, smooth, hearty, and flavorful, good for a winter night, topped with some bacon and shredded cheese. The mac and cheese was rich and out of this world for flavor, though I couldn't detect any actual pieces of lobster. I had been a little skeptical that, with the dozens of items on the menu, the food would look and taste fresh, but it did. No taste like something had been sitting in the back of the refrigerator. Note that portions are small -- it is indeed a small-plate place. The place isn't much on ambiance. Going for a dimly lit, modern vibe, but sort of on the cheap, apparently. The only real snag in the experience was the drink price. Menu said $9 and just said it was made with "bourbon," no specific brand. Waitress asked if I wanted it made with their special private-label, made-for-them house bourbon. Sure, why not? Only problem was that she didn't inform me this was a $3 up-charge. She offered to adjust it when I complained after getting the check. I'd give 3 1/2 stars if that were possible.

Excellent experience!! We were able to try several things & loved them all! Corn brûlée is a must-try. Our server was sweet, helpful, and knowledgable. Divvy is a bit pricey, but it's perfect for a special date night.

The small plate sharing was an enjoyable way to try several dishes and relax over conversation. The menu offers a variety of choices. Hands down duckadillas were absolute favorite surprise. Every dish was petite but packed gargantuan amounts of flavor. I found the seasoning never overpowered the flavor of the dish and preparation was skillful. Our server was knowledgable, friendly and paid enough attention that we never felt neglected or pressured to hurry through our meal. Port taste tour rounded out our meal and was a nice finish to split. Ordered: Bok Choy, crostini fig Brie, duckadillas, pickles, deviled eggs, and pot de creme. If you are interested in trying new flavors add divvy to your list of places to try.

My experience at Divvy was okay. First, I'll lay out the facts. Our reservation was for a large group (fourteen people) on a Saturday night at 7:20 pm. The restaurant was busy, but we were seated prompted (which I DO appreciate, especially when there is a large group because that can be difficult on a busy night even if you have a reservation). Our server was very nice, and she explained how ordering typically works; small plates...everyone shares...there are typically four rounds of ordering...start from the front of the menu and work towards the back. That was fine but it's difficult to coordinate that amount of organization with a group of fourteen. Nevertheless, we tried just the same. The food was good, but I felt (and I sensed other in the group as well) rushed to get it on my plate and pass it around to the next person as quickly as possible because there was so much coming out of the kitchen at once. I can't say if this was because we were ordering and passing it around like the server told us to for sure, but I think that was probably the reason. Had we been able to order for smaller table sections (groups of four or five - having discussed what that set of particular people wanted) I think it would have been less pressure to pass so quickly and we could have just enjoyed the four courses of small plates within smaller groups of our large groups. Anyway, the decor and setting is very modern. It's a pretty hip place. It lacks acoustics and it was pretty noisy. I struggled to hear what the person across and two seats down was saying. After an hour or so, I stopped trying to engage in conversation because I was getting tired of talking over the crowd. So, all in all, it was okay. I will go back. I may have just had an off night. I may have just been because our group was so large. The food was good, and there are items on the menu that I want to try next time. I do recommend the bacon wrapped apricots, beer cheese fondue, olive tapenade, and calamari. The coffee and beignets were enjoyable after dinner as well.

Loved this place. Came at like, 3 for my lunch break when it was super dead. Bartender didn't have that normal "It's 3:00, I thought I was done" attitude I've come to expect at lunch break. Food was great and clearly inspired by a talented chef. I got the empanadas and the potato hash. The empanadas were good, nice and flaky and the potato hash was the best potato side dish I've ever had. The downside, in my opinion, is that it was a $25 lunch with no alcohol.. but you pay for quality, I guess. Will def be back.

Came for lunch with a bunch of friends. We sat outside - nice and shady with lots of cover despite it being a hot day. The cool infused water was so good that I chose not to order drinks. There weren't tons of selections for a vegetarian like me but I did choose the grilled cheese combo and crime brûlée corn. The sandwich was okay - kind of small with plenty of apples and no discernible cheese. But the creme brûlée was AMAZING! Never tasted anything like that before. Service was good, and they didn't shoo us out even though we sat there for two hours, chatting. I'll be back for the creme brûlée alone. For the price, I'd have liked a more substantial sandwich.

I adore tapas. I am a tapas-holic. Divvy does not disappoint.. for the most part. Dishes weren't all 5-stars but of course we all have varying tastes. This is a great date night restaurant. Impressive, but have patience for the lack of service and be ready to sit at the community table if private tables are not available. Food: 4/5 Location: 5/5 The interior is amazingly chic and close to the Palladium for a great after show bite and drink Service: 3/5

This may be my new favorite Carmel restaurant. A co-worker recommended it, and I came here with my dad (who likes meat sometimes) and my step-mom, who has both a gluten allergy and dairy intolerance. Unlike most restaurants, there was plenty for both them and me (the vegetarian) to choose from, because divvy has a huge menu of small plates. My favorite was the sweet potato fries with maple bourbon sauce, but I am especially in love with sweet potatoes (and often dream of having a well-roasted sweet potato's babies) so not super surprising. I also enjoyed the sunburst squash, tomato bruschetta, and tasting and sharing both the red and white flights of wine (we always drink plenty of wine, and flights are the best). The atmosphere was trendy and new and the service was fantastic and quick. The finishing touch of the night, before we left, was the complimentary homemade caramel - but I hear sometimes it is another morsel like homemade fudge. And it comes in a cute little divvy box. Somehow it made me really happy.

My boyfriend and I have been to Divvy several times since we relocated to Carmel three months ago and every time has been a great experience. I've spent the last 15 years in NYC and San Diego, dined all over the world and this is one of my favorite places. Have I been in LOVE with every single thing I've had? No- some I didn't care for, but that's because of my own personal taste. The selection is wonderful and if you like shared plates, so much fun to look through. The only downside is "what" to choose because it's all so interesting. As for price, I think they are fair- dinner for two without being shy about food or drinks is usually under $100- For the experience and ambiance, adventure of trying new things and never getting bored of the menu, it's WELL worth it. I've been in the hospitality industry for almost 20 years and it's hard to create that kind of experience for your guests at that price point. As I read (the few) negative reviews, I almost want to respond personally to them because they are kind of ridiculous! First of all, if you're starving and on a budget, don't come here. Go find a Golden Coral. If you're idea of innovative menus is Buffalo Chicken Dip with Sriracha instead of buffalo sauce, don't come here. You'll just complain because you don't understanding culinary inspiration. And, finally, if you're of the ilk that "too many things on the menu is a sign of a bad restaurant", then definitely stay away- first of all, it's ignorant to compare anything like a dime-store diner where their goal is to serve up one huge plate of fried garbage to shovel down your gullet as you guzzle endless soda and cups of burnt coffee. This place has so many things on the menu because you're supposed to order several- the concept is based on variety. Don't be ignorant. If you don't get that, stay away. Finally, I'm sure I'll go to Divvy at some point and they'll have an off-night and I'll be less than impressed, which is probably the case with some of these reviews that have complaints. No one is perfect. Not an excuse when you're footing the bill, but it happens. Barring and atrocities, I'll still be a fan and appreciate that there's somewhere in Carmel that offers more than burgers and salads for those times that I want something more creative.

We came in here after being tired of the regular spots. It was a Tuesday night and it was fairly quiet but there was a steady stream of late arrivals even at 10pm. My fiancée and I ordered five separate dishes: Crab cakes: good Olive tapenade: good Chicken Chips: so-so Corn brûlée: not for me Tenderloin: not for me I'm conflicted by this place. On one hand I appreciate that this place is not another chain restaurant on the other I think the dishes were not executed to my satisfaction. I will possibly try this place again but it might be awhile.

Divvy seems to be more style than substance. I went for a friend's birthday celebration between Christmas and New Year's Eve and it was disappointing. The ambiance is lovely, however the server wasn't very friendly or prompt. He wasn't unfriendly, just distant and cold. There were seven of us and the general consensus was that the best dish was the popcorn crawfish. I would not recommend the fried pickles (too greasy!) or the beer cheese (very bland). The desserts were the most consistently enjoyable; we ordered six of the desserts among the seven of us and everyone was generally pleased, except we could skip the banana wontons in the future. The s'mores was great and the pork belly dessert was good too. Overall, I think that I would prefer to spend my money elsewhere in the future. I simply wasn't impressed.

A little of this...a little of that. When I first walked into Divvy, I was greeted promptly and offered to hang my coat. That was a great way to start off my experience at Divvy. We were quickly seated and quickly served. The bar area is a great space to gather with a friend or two while drinking and eating. The wine and cocktail list is fairly unique and should have something that will appeal to everyone. The dishes range in size but the small bite sized selection is pretty extensive. You're likely to find a number of amazing dishes that won't blow your budget...or your diet!

Wow! Great for a large group. Everyone will be happy. Comfort food galore. Bacon specialties that will make you swoon. Corn brûlée thing is incredible. Lobster Mac and cheese is a must. For dessert you must have the chocolate mousse although the s'mores dish is amazing!

Free valet parking in the rain is a nice touch to start the evening! We were quickly greeted by the hostess who offered to hang up our coats and then seated. We were brought two types of water, regular and Divvy, which was flavored with cucumber and lemon-very refreshing. The menu is a bit intimidating, but our server, Kermit, was superb at explaining everything and making suggestions. We tried so many good things! The calamari was a stand out, very fresh and lightly breaded. The apple brie salad with the champagne mustard dressing was a flavor explosion in my mouth. The potato hash was salty and comforting. The corn brulee was hot, hot, hot and I loved it. There were so many things that I didn't get to try so I will definitely be back and will be sure to order another Chocolate nut! The pistachio liqueur is what caught my eye, but it is mixed with a white port. A WHITE PORT!! People, this is a rarity and Kermit even brought me a sample to try on its own and it was amazing. I have to say, Kermit definitely made this dining experience better for me. I would hope to get him as our server again the next time we go. I might even request him!!

Carmel could use more restaurants like Divvy (or divvy, stylized)! Inventive, daring, playful, intimate. Not every small plate on the menu is a success, but sampling everything is the fun part of ordering and sharing with a group. From personal experience, here's what to order and what to skip. The HITS: Roasted pepper artichoke spread with grilled rustic bread Pimento puffs (!) Carafe of Sweet Pablo if you like tequila Potato hash Shrimp cocktail Creme brulee The MISSES: Fried pickles Chorizo balls Beef empanadas Chocolate mousse (unless you love extremely salty chocolate)

What a great find. We had dinner for five -- late dinner on Sunday night before Christmas. Decor is modern and trendy and great. Small plates dining is really good -- with five of us, we got to try lots of different things. Even good stuff for the vegan in our group. Waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. As we ordered along -- with three carafes of sangria -- I was anticipating one huge check. But it wasn't bad. This is a fun place for a small plates dinner.

We made a last minute reservation here for a Saturday night. We were told when we made the reservation that they were doing dual seatings that night and we had to be out by 8:30. Neato, fine, okay. We were then called two hours later (3:00ish?) by someone reminding us that we had a 6:00 seating and needed to be out by 8:30. Okay - my exact words to the person calling were "We understand that we made a last minute reservation, are very appreciative that you took us, and we know we need to be out by 8:30." This reservation was made to take my husband's mother out for dinner. We were told when we sat down that we had to be out by 8:30 and again about 30 minutes into the meal when our 4th (she was not sure she could make it within the timeline) had not arrived yet. Imagine my excitement when we were told at 8:15 that we needed to be finishing up. But a last minute piece of luck at 8:20! Someone cancelled and we could stay at the table as long as we wanted. A $120 meal for my MIL to feel guilty the entire time for eating. This place has really good food, but the service was questionable again and the constant reminders to get out were really obnoxious. If they were that worried about it, why did they take the reservation? Instead, they took it - put us on edge all meal - and ultimately lost some customers in the process.

This place is REALLY good!! We did reservations for our 17th anniversary date night on a Friday evening. Everything we had was wonderful and easy to share. Keep in mind these are small plate dishes so you can try a lot of really yummy food! We ordered cream cheese wontons, beer cheese fondue, duckadillas, and buffalo burgers and we were quite full. Only dish we struck out on was the taster tour of desserts with baked Alaska, sweet bacon, and bleu cheese ice cream. The baked Alaska was good but we personally did not care for the sweet bacon (huge chunks of fat) and the bleu cheese ice cream (too much bleu cheese). Other than that, every bite of all other dishes was FANTASTIC!!! Oh and we shared a half carafe of pleasure punch, too. Yummy! MUST GO AND TRY THIS PLACE! And they have free valet parking! (Don't forget to tip!) LOVED IT! Great service from Eric, too!

Like a Tapas Bar but oh-so-much more!! This menu consists of an eclectic and apparently very high quality eats sized for sharing. As wonderful as our selections were, I was left feeling like I could have tried all the selections. The amazing flavors and presentation and well prepared waitstaff ensure a great time for you and a friend or a crowd!! Reasonable pricing on most offerings- we had a dinner and drinks. I especially try to find places that do not have TV.

Here's the thing. Everything hinges on what you order. There were some misses and some mind blowing food served to us. DO NOT GET the lobster cakes that come served in a pool of syrup. It was bad. Really bad. Also, the Worcerstershire steak bites are accurately named. That is all you taste, which is overwhelming. YOU MUST ORDER corn creme brulee (side dish not a dessert). I ate the WHOLE thing and would have licked the bowl if I weren't in public. Also, the beer cheese fondu is the BEST dipping sauce I've ever had in my life. Paired with that soft pretzel bread. Get out of here. We also ate the brie, green apple, crustini concoction, and it was OK. It tasted good, but I would order a second beer cheese fondu before I order that again. We also got mac n cheese with bacon...which was good. BUT if you have the cream corn brulee, it makes the mac and cheese look dry. It's not dry, but that's how ooey and melt in your mouth the corn dish is. So if you MUST try the mac and cheese, get it as your "appetizer." Then get the corn cream brulee. The bignets were just OK...fried dough...the sauces didn't taste good to me. This could be because I was full beyond capacity and wanted to die at this point. I'll definitely get a different dessert next time, though. For the record, donuts and cinnamon rolls are my favorite food, so I'm a little dough snob. The best drink I've ever had was their sweet sparkling red wine. It was SO GOOD. Give Divvy a try!

Met friends there to try something new but found the menu a bit mundane. It didn't help that our server was condescending and rude. We've been to Spain twice so we really didn't need someone telling us how to order our food and what we needed to drink with it. With all the good restaurants in Carmel we were sorry we hadn't gone some other place.

Wow! What can I say about this place. I was a little skeptical going in because I had read some of the previous reviews, but those fears washed away. We hit up this place for the North Side Nights menu. There were 5 of us, which is awesome because you get to share so much food! Here is what I ate below, yes I ate all this Thai and Curry devil eggs, beer fondu, honey whipped feta spread, crispy pork belly bites, grilled bok choi with lemon, bacon jalapeno shrimp, grilled boneless pork chops, corn creme' brule', mini lamb chops, new York strip tips, sesame tenderloin ends, duck drummies, plus every dessert they had. I did not have a single bad dish. No exaggeration, it was excellent. Comparing it to Barcellona Tappas, I really can't. Two very different styles of cooking, but I was very happy with this place. Excellent drink selection, cozy atmosphere, would be even better in the summer out on the patio. Well done!

Really enjoyed lunch here, but the menu was entirely overwhelming! During lunch, they provided us with the full dinner menu plus a pared-down lunch menu. Great to have options, but a lot to look at! The jalapeno corn brulee is a must-try! The portions were generous, so we were too full to enjoy dessert, but cute little cookies came out with the bill. Definitely worth trying.

I will have to say I was a little bias going to Divvy because I work at Architectural Brick and Tile and we supplied almost every hard surface for the restaurant so I have been dying to see the installation. The atmosphere there was wonderful! It's a little on the smaller side but the layout was great! We had a wonderful waitress and the services was wonderful! I felt like there were plenty of people checking on us and we were well taken care of. Now for the food. Phenomenal! We tried so much! The dusted fried olives, steak bites with potatoes, lobster, frizzled soy beans, the warm bacon jam with horseradish mustard and pretzel bread, bruleed brie, sizzlin shrimp, pecan triangle and the chocolate mouse. I loved everything and so did everyone else! My favorites were the lobster and the chocolate mouse. We did have a little surprise when my friend ordered the ostrich burgers and I have to say I really liked it and I didn't know I was eating ostrich. She decided to keep that a secret. I would go back in a heart beat!

My friends and I wanted to try a fun place for a girls night out. We love the idea of small plates and wanted to give Divvy a try. The food was okay, and we were happy about everything until they rushed us out the door 30 minutes before closing time. We were told they were closing soon (the sign says 9pm) but they started asking us to hurry up and finish around 8pm. They wanted us out the door by 8:30. I've heard people complain about this happening to them here on Yelp, but thought it was exaggerated. It wasn't. We will never visit that place again. There are too many restaurants who would treat you a lot better who deserves my patronage.

We went here for Valentine's Day and it was really nice. We appreciated the slightly larger portion sizes and therefore the lower cost for eating a meal! Bad news was that it was late at night and some of the food we ate tasted "old." Also, our waiter was new, we think, because he really didn't know how to answer any of our questions. I'd go back at an earlier time and on a less busy day before giving this a final grade.

A solid addition to the Carmel dining scene. Hubby and I stopped in on a Friday evening. Thought we might have to go somewhere else for dinner. Thus was just appetizers, right. They are small plates but priced So that you can easily enjoy enough to get full! Bacon steak, pork belly was delish. Calamari done just right. Fondue plate ok. Hubby loved pretzel bread. Sausage was tasty. They had my fave beer, sun king, weemac, in can but that will do. We will be back.

Had a really good meal here. Maybe we just chose well but all the small plates we got were delicious. The owner (Woody of Woody's Library Restaurant) also came over and was very friendly and found us a better table than we initially got.

This place has a ton of fantastic dishes and I've always had really good service here. It can add up quickly and end up being a pretty pricey evening - but that's ok if the food and ambiance are good. Check and check. I like the outdoor seating here, the fire pits are a nice touch. Food-wise, I love the bacon jam and the whipped feta. The corn brûlée is great. Also - they have an AMAZING lunch menu, which I didn't realize when we first started coming here last year. The desserts are very good too -- bring back the Baked Alaska!!! The menu is super comprehensive. I like the champagne flights as well--fun for a little something different! Sometimes the portions are a bit small for the price (I realize it's tapas = small plates, but think that some of the items are a little overpriced for what they are). Not going for the full 5 stars due to the pricing of some of the items, but overall we've always had pretty consistently good food and service here.

In a nutshell, I am never going back and I only gave it two stars because of the dessert. We had been anxious to try Divvy for a while. Who wouldn't? Trendy Carmel hot spot with small plates and cocktails? Sign me up. My first mistake was bringing our out-of-town guests to a place we've never tried. It was only my mom and grandma who are subjected to supply me with unconditional love so I guess it wasn't completely embarrassing. Here we go... Our server, Lola, who actually referred to herself as "the crazy Russian" was HORRIFIC. First offense: she must have the memory span of a flea because she introduced herself and gave her "spiel" TWICE! Verbatim! Each and every time she came to the table, she referred to us (Two 24 year olds, a 52 year old, and a 77 year old) as children, kids, young ones, or some other variation of the word. I honestly took offense to that. She spoke so quietly that you could only say "WHAT?!" so many times before you just nod and smile like you pretend you know what she said. Not to mention, Lola was training a new server who didn't open her mouth once. The decor is an attempt at hip and modern. But the tables end up cafeteria-like, the green paint is not right, and the music is too quiet for the ambiance they are trying to portray. The wine list might be good, but you would never know because they make it known that every one on the list is only available through wine distributors and not in stores. Ok cool, but could you at least provide me with the country of origin? NO. Would you care to list a description? NO. Could you at least train your servers to be able to explain or recommend your wines? NO! We ended up ordering a Shiraz knowing we were taking a chance and Lola the crazy Russian actually told us that she does not recommend that wine. Alright Lola, what do you recommend? The $68 bottle, or course! Taking half of her advice, we scratched the Shiraz and ended up asking for a moderately priced Merlot. When I ordered it, she gave me a look like she was hex-ing me. To no surprise, she didn't know a thing about wine service and poured my mother a sample of the bottle that I ordered. The food was below average but not atrocious . We ordered the Balsamic Bruschetta, Goat Cheese Cakes, Corn Creme Brulee, Steak Bites, and Beef Carpaccio. Everything was presented poorly, the bruschetta was bland, steak bites were tough, ugh. The food was so unmemorable that I am having a hard time recalling just 2 days later. In a last ditch effort to save the meal, we ordered dessert. OMG, the Beignets were good. Warm, doughy, fluffy donuts, dusted with confectioners sugar, served with three dipping sauces: Strawberry, butterscotch and dark chocolate. I don't even care that I ended up eating that dark chocolate sauce with a spoon like soup. I deserved it after the failure that is Divvy.

We always enjoy places serving small plates like divvy, barcelona tapas downtown, chinese dimsum, zing downtown when they were still open. Its fun and you get to try, experiment, mix up, and share several dishes, normally between 4 to 6 for us depending on how hungry we are. Went there for lunch break a few saturdays ago during our bicycle ride along the monon, and then last saturday evening for a late dinner. Service is good, food is good (pork belly and beignet for me), place looks good with outdoor dining option and fireplace. And then they give you as take home after meal treat those small choco brownie in a box, quite fancy but its a nice. Plus they sometime offer a complimentary flavored water (if you dont like plain tap), we got cucumber water the first time we went, though not on the 2nd time maybe they were out. Price wise, it really not that bad at all and very much comparable if you eat at any decent place in Indy.

Eh. The food at Divvy is pretty good, although a little on the sweet side (particularly the smores brulee, which tasted like pure sugar). Some highlights for me were the grilled bok choy and the tenderloin tips. The service was pretty good as well. I would have given 4-stars, but I found it incredibly obnoxious that they were playing Fox News on the TV right above our table. Regardless of your political persuasion, it's quite annoying to have politics shoved in your face while trying to enjoy a relaxing dinner. Hopefully this is not the norm for Divvy.

Last night was our second visit to this trendy Carmel small plates bistro. Our first was with a much larger group, and last night was a 4 top. Dishes are served progressively, so you order a little bit at a time, and then order more until you're done. The recommendation is one order per person, per round. We found that this was probably a bit much, and didnt order quite so much. We started with the balsamic bruschetta, simple Mac N Cheez, Bruleed Brie, and French O'Dumplings. The Bruschetta was fantastic, lots of flavors. My parents dont normally like feta, but ate every bit heaped on this dish! The bruleed brie had a sweetly delicious fig jam. Our next course was sweet potato fries, corn creme brulee, and duck drummies. I love the duck drummies in the Thai chili glaze. Its probably my favorite item on the menu! Simple, but tasty. The corn creme brulee had some heat, but the cheeses and sea salt tempered the heat a bit, and left a surprisingly full flavor aftertaste. Our final course was both sets of sliders (turkey and buffalo) and the braised beef. The braised beef was not my favorite. There wasnt anything wrong with it, but it just didnt excite me like so many of the other dishes had. But thats what makes this place so inviting. Since its all small plates, you can share everything, and if something isnt a winner, thats ok because you have plenty of other options to enjoy. Service is laid back, and sometimes feels a little too slow. I also understand that the kitchen can get backed up as each dish requires a certain attention to making sure the presentation and all the unique parts are present. All in all, an enjoyable dinner. I like the concept. My wife and I like to try lots of different dishes, and find ourselves often trying to decide what to order in a restaurant because so many options sound so interesting. So Divvy gets 2 thumbs up from us, and we will be back with friends!

Recently had a nice experience at Divvy. Not perfect by any means, but I will definitely be back, which tells me that they must be doing something right. The rights - Nice ambiance and decor. Sure, there might be a few people that look like they are auditioning for "Real Housewives of Carmel" but........it's Carmel, so just roll with it because you should have expected it. Good drink menu with a nice beer selection. The hard cider with an optional added flavor was sweet, but good. Small plates. Everybody shares! The steak bites and the grilled strip were very good. The wrongs - Understaffed on Tuesday, July 3rd. The next day is a national holiday, of *course* people are going to go out since they don't have to work the next day. Service at our table was confusing* (see below). We got there on the early side of dinner and the bartender waited on our table. The place proceeded to fill up with patrons rather quickly and it was obvious that our server/bartender was slammed. He came back by and we *thought* we placed an order for another round of drinks. 5 minutes later another server came by and asked if we wanted more drinks. She was not sure if the bartender had actually taken our order or not. 5 minutes later, she was back to take our drink order. The bartender dashed over to apologize and then dashed back behind the bar. We had yet *another* server take our next order 20 minutes later, but by then we realized that the place was hopelessly understaffed for a full house and we went with the flow. Chicken nachos were very average. Not much flavor and overall a disappointment. I would not order them again. The sausage that came with the beer cheese fondue was greasy and unappetizing. Very doubtful that I'd order it again. So, sort of a mixed bag in terms of the menu items we tried and the service was not great, but sort of funny until............. *The bartender came by towards the end of our dinner and apologized (for the 2nd time) for the uneven service that we'd gotten. He couldn't have been nicer or more sincere about it and offered to buy us a round of shots. We laughed, thanked him for his offer, and said "no thanks" to the shots. 2 minutes later he's back at the table with a round of shots, insisting that we try them. Nope, no Kamikaze's or Jäger Bombs. He brought us shots of pistachio liqueur (Verdenoce), vodka and Bailey's. Tasted like a slightly sweeter version of a White Russian and was very smooth. So the bartender pretty much turned this into a 4 star rating from what would have been a 3 star rating. Very nice to see that some people will go out of their way to make sure that guests at their establishment leave feeling happy.

I debated between two and three stars for this one. I had such high hopes. I love tapas, and the spin with American tapas was definitely fun! there seemed to be a major inconsistency in quality though between the dishes. the atmosphere is fun and trendy with a touch of class. nice outdoor seating area available, and a couple of very cool large tables in the bar area, along with the requisite 4-toppers. fun lighting. overall, nice atmosphere, especially for a girls night! the menu is large. too large. it so needs to be trimmed down. the waiter did an excellent job walking us through, course at a time, so we did not get lost. now, let's talk about the food. the food was fun, but some courses and items definitely out shined others. and some dishes were total bombs. the first round was ok, with some items that were light on flavor, such as the roasted pepper artichoke dip. the dueling devil eggs were good, but just a little odd. the cheese options were by far everyone's favorite that I was with. the beer cheese with homemade chips and some pretzel rolls were great! and the pimento puffs were soooooo yummy! definitely two of the winners of the evening. veggies and such: squash was just so-so, light on flavor; the shitakes were very good though! the corn brulee was good, but a little too runny. until desserts, the rest of the items were bombs. do not order the cellophane noodles. they were sent back. it was a lump of overcooked cellophane noodles that were drowning in some sort of sauce, suspected to be the same thai flavor from the dueling devils, maybe even some mustard. one bite and it was immediate repulsion. blech! the turkey burgers tasted old or bad or something and were not good at all. again, one bite and it was a turn off. how can something with brie be bad???? but alas, it was. the chicken chips, which is a cut up tostada with shredded chicken and cheese and other toppings was ok, just weak and not very flavorful. the desserts that we had were very good. frozen chocolate mousse with a peanut sauce and a sprinkle of red salt. tasty!!! and the key lime pie square was oh so yummy too! the coconut was a great touch! I almost feel that divvy should trim down the menu, cutting out 2-3 items from each section and then really focus on quality for those items. this would greatly improve the consistency of quality, not overwhelm with options, and really allow divvy to shine like I know it can ;-) if we go back, it will be cheese, drinks, and desserts!

Very nice trendy syle of lounge and restraunt. Went out there with my newly organized "Cocktail Club" and it turned out to be a great place for drinks and appetizers. Unique assortment of appetizers. R

Divvy had been on my list of restaurants to try and today we decided to give it a whirl. I don't venture to Carmel often, and today left no better impression. An empty parking lot, dark uninhabited boutiques, church bells ringing in between a murmur of instrumental music, all combined, left an eerie feeling in the air. Isn't this the way horror movies begin? ... Anywho, we were greeted at the door and sat in the dining room. Right off, I have to say that I enjoyed the interior decor. The simplicity of their table settings were comfortable and modern. Loved the pencil cup silverware holder and the wood tiled wall in back. Skimming through the leather bound menu I was excited until I began noticing that many of the small plates had identical sauces or accompaniments. The only real choice was whether I wanted fish, beef, or veggies with my pineapple salsa verde, creamy horseradish sauce, or teriyaki. They really must have purchased creme fraiche in mass quantities also, because it was everywhere! Looking past that, we ordered the smoked chipotle pepper jelly and bacon jam to start. The jelly was paired with small cornbread muffins and butter. The cornbread was tasty, but the jelly was unimpressive, with no distinguishable heat. The bacon jam came with pretzel bread and creamy horseradish sauce. The sauce had a nice level of horseradish, but the bacon tasted more like shredded dry jerky than crumbled bacon. For the next course we ordered the seared tuna, lamb latkes, and corn creme brulee. The tuna came out a very dismal gray color, served with teriyaki, and glass noodles. The teriyaki was extremely bland making the whole dish forgettable. The latkes were drowning in a pool of chipotle pepper jelly (again) and drizzled with, you guessed it, creme fraiche. They were overcooked and dry. I took one bite of the sweet corn creme brulee and I was ready to go. After spending a decent amount of money on dinner, it's disappointing that what I liked best was their cucumber and lemon infused tap water. BUMMER. The concept is there, the decor and atmosphere a plus, but they loose it with the food. It's tapas people; if you only have two bites to make an impression - give me flavor!

It seems that this restaurant lives and dies by its wait staff. Our server worked very hard to guide us through the menu, and we had a good if not perfect experience. When we deviated from his advice, we were disappointed. Leapfrogging from another reviewer's comment, perhaps they should use the advice of the competent service staff to trim down the size of the menu.

I've been to divvy four times since they opened (twice for lunch and twice for dinner). It was fantastic every time. At lunch, I'm addicted to the turkey burgers. At dinner, it would be hard to list everything I liked but I did particularly enjoy the ostrich burgers, the Duckadillas and the lobster macaroni and cheese. The blondie bite was a delicious dessert. In addition, I was pleased to see that they had some great non-alcoholic drinks on the menu. I'm currently pregnant so I sometimes feel left out when dining out with friends. However, the tropical soda spritzer at divvy was delicious and fun!

Tried divvy for the first time on Saturday evening with 2 other couples. Great location, easy parking and immediate seating at our reservation time. Amanda our server was great and was able to explain the menu exceptionally well. We had a wide variety of menu items and a couple of the speciality drinks. The "New" Fashioned with Makers Mark made me feel as if I were drinking this in small bar in the 70's. This is a must go if in Carmel, IN

Divvy is an interesting place, there is no doubt it has unique characteristics. I can't really compare it to anything else I can think of in central Indiana. It reminds me of Vegas with the modern building and decor. I have to give the look/feel/ambiance 5/5 stars. I had higher expectations for the food however, mainly because it's owned by the same people that own Woody's Library restaurant, which I love. For the record, I love the tapas/small plate concept. The menu is divided into veggie/poultry/seafood/red meat, etc... so it's easy to find vegetarian options easily (as well as gluten-free or vegan). I still recommend this place to friends even though I think their menu is sub-par to it's potential (details below). It's located in the new Carmel city building, next to the Palladium. So... moving on to the food. You start with your choice of water or cucumber-water. We got the house cucumber water... very good if you like cucumber (so I hear). I elected to go with the Founders Porter instead (which I enjoyed). Expect to pay $5.5 per bottle for craft beer. They have 6 drafts, which don't think rotate out. I originally wanted their draft sampler ($5) but they appeared to be out of a few of the choices so I got a bottle instead. We enjoyed about half of the plates we ordered. The ones I really liked and recommend are, Corn Creme Brulee and Bruleed Brie. I read good things about the Tempura Tofu but personally didn't like it at all. The waitress noticed that we didn't care for some of the options and offered to substitute out for other plates or a dessert. Since the food was not very good as a whole, I gave this place a 3/5 star, but I really recommend trying it out for yourself. It's a perfect place to go with a small group of friends.

Went in last night after seeing a show at the Tarkington. Two Southsiders looking for a well made drink and a late night snack hit the mark when we popped into Divvy. From the outside, the patio looks like it's going to be a hit in the spring and summer. Lots of space and well laid out. On the inside, the reclaimed wood floors and minimalist style made the place cozy and welcoming. Cool menu design and layout. Simple with selection for most tastes. Drinks: I had a "New Fashioned" (a take on the classic bourbon drink). The blood orange juice made what looked like a watered down cocktail interesting and worthwhile. She had the "Pear-rita." I enjoyed my sip of it. The tequila made it through the very sweet Pear juice. Food: I had the $6 Mac and Cheese with the $4 Lobster add-in. I was very impressed. Well portioned and very creamy with a white cheddar cheese and Parmesan bread crumbs. The lobster helped create a sweet/salty component but I would have liked to have more for the price. (Who doesn't want more lobster?) She had the "Thanksgiving Balls." They were the only true failure of the evening. Imagine a very wet turkey and dressing meatball with no salt. They were smothered in cranberry chutney (way. too. much). I'd love to see the concept work but it needs a complete overhaul. Otherwise, it simply needs to go to make more room for better executed dishes. Overall, I was really pleased to find Divvy. I think they accomplish their mission of providing "sharing space" where new takes on the classics can be found. I will be sure to stop in the next time I'm on that side of "the loop."

As a general rule, I usually eat at the same restaurants and order the same dishes over and over. Although I am "adventurous" with certain foods, the bottom line is I know what I like. My boyfriend and I ventured to Divvy one night, after I had recommended it go a guest at my work place. It not only hit the spot appetite wise, but also visually (and no, I'm not just talking about the food!) The restaurant is modern, new-age(ish) and has a certain metro flare to it. Classy and cool. Going into the experience I was skeptical because I am quite particular, and when someone tells me, "Mediterranean Style" tapas, I immediately think.. hmm. Not sure about this. I was blown away at the extensive menu, and to make it even better the list of gluten free, vegan, and dairy free options! Everything was fantastic, and very well worth the little amount of money spent! - that's right people. Divvy is very reasonably priced! The only thing I would change, is the waitress was a bit overwhelming (quite the chatter box!)

Really disappointing. Mixed drinks were too strong, not well mixed. The concepts were good, but the taste was not. We tried the Manhattan and the Elderflower Gimlet. The waiter couldn't identify where the lamb came from. His eventual answer: off the meat truck and probably from New Zealand. The "chef" is a nutritionist. What kind of conscientious nutritionist buys mystery meat? The corn creme brulee was very overrated. It has potential, but the execution was bad. The smores brulee had potential, but it was burnt and the marshmallows weren't thoroughly warmed. The chocolate mousse had far too much salt and I like salt with chocolate and carmel, but it was all dropped in one spot like some sort of red salt bomb. The scallops rockafella was smothered in cheese among other things to hide the quality of the scallops, which wasn't high. Most dishes we tried were just one flavor note. The pretzel rolls (from Costco) were average. The mustard and bacon jam served with them were just ok, but nothing great. The duckadillas had one of the worst tortillas I've had. Wal Mart purchase? The "braised beef dish" was a mushy mystery meat smothered in some kind of bland sauce. The decor is probably the best thing about divvy, but not worth the price or the trip, and I live right down the street. $100 of my hard earned money and came away with nothing except a stomachache and a little bit of a buzz from the strong drink.

So out of the 4 or 5 times I have been here I have really had incredible service except for one time. I had been contemplating a negative review for about a month. I was prepared to write one of the most brutally honest reviews that I ever have. It was in regards to a certain server that my yelp counterparts also had horrific experiences with. I pondered over this storm brewing inside me as I wanted to share with yelpers how truly shocking this experience was. I just could not understand how a restaurant could be so incredibly spot on! So incredible in service and in food and then with one visit nearly knocked me off my feet. I decided to write a letter first to the owners because I believe that if they didn't know about the situation how could I expect them to address the situation. Excellent service recovery by the owner Kevin! He called me personally to apologize about my experience. I was so impressed with his heartfelt and sincere apology that I will return. This could have been a one star update, but Kevin completely turned this experience around. Kevin, thank you for being so hospitable! Your establishment will continue to be on the tip of my tongue to recommend as a local Carmel favorite.

Went with friends and sat on the patio. The patio faces west with umbrellas to offer shade. However, the umbrellas cannot be angled easily to shade tables. We sat in a semi-shaded area. As the sun set guests at another table requested adjustment of the umbrella. This change put us directly into the sun. When we commented the owner told us 'he was not God' and could not change the direction of the sun. He mentioned in a week or so he will be putting up more screens. There was nowhere else for us to move nor did he offer to seat us inside the restaurant. He really was not interested in our comfort, dinning experience, or overall impression of the restaurant. It felt like he really did not care if we ever came back. The food was just ok, but on the more expensive side. The best was the free cumber water. The décor on the inside and outside is unique.

One of my favorite lunch & dinner spots in Carmel. Love the unique and inventive take on small plates. Been there a couple of times in a large group and we were able to ask the waiter to bring out his top few dishes. Everyone I take there always raves about the food. Love the atmosphere and the drink list. My only complaint is the menu is a bit confusing and overwhelming. It could use some shrinking...

What an absolutely refreshing addition to the restaurant concept. We enjoyed all aspectsof this unique place: hospitality, atmosphere, service, menu choices, presentation, preparation, but most of all the quality of the food. We will not only return, but recommend it to any and all who want a fabulous place to eat!!! and yes, the mango sorbet is heavenly!

I wrote a long post that was lost. It blows me away this place has more than 2 stars. Really bland food and over priced. It is a good concept but the food is just not good. We had 6 menu items to share and it was 90 bucks for two. The Duckadillas were horrible, and if it wasn't for the sauces on everything, like the Thanksgiving Balls, there wouldn't be any flavor to the food. Very amateur cooking but a good atmosphere. The wait staff is bad as well. Our server interrupted my wife four times while she was asking questions about the menu so she could answer the questions of the guy next to us. I won't be going back or recommending it.

It was a lovely day so I decided to take my mom here for lunch so we could sit outside and have a lovely mother-daughter meal and a few laughs. The outdoor patio is really nice because it's not only shaded but they also have fans going so it's breezy as well. I was surprised that not many people were sitting outside, though it was about 85 degrees it was quite comfortable under the awning. I really like the lunch menu because it has a diverse selection. Actually, their entire menu is great for anyone because they have a ton of vegetarian, lactose-free, and gluten free goodies to chow down on. The lunch menu isn't really tapas-style as they offer sandwiches, salads, and combo meals and everything is under 10 bucks. I had the Mediterranean Tofu Sandwich with a garden side salad as my side item. The sandwich was really good but I could only eat half because it was gigantic and since I am not exactly a huge olive lover, the kalamata spread was a little overpowering for me. Side salad was...a side salad. But the champagne vinaigrette dressing added a nice burst of flavor. Moms had the chicken gyro with the orzo pasta salad as a side. I really liked the orzo but she thought it lacked flavor. It tasted very lemon-y and refreshing but to each their own. At the end of the meal you get a sweet treat to nibble on. I think the little treat box said something to the effect of "a treat to thank you for coming to eat!" It's a small one or two bite treat but a nice way to top off your meal. That particular day it was a super moist and chocolatey rice krispie treat. Service was great, our waitress was very helpful and sweet. I have to get back here soon so I can eat some of the sweet potato fries I saw on the menu!

Very good small plates. I got the cormnbread and chipoptle pepper. Ahi tuna on seafood was the best. Lamb litke was amazing. Chocolate mouse was a great small desert. Owned by woody, of woody's library restaurant in carmel. Ostrich mini burgers were great. Pineapple and jalapeno peppers were hot hot. Overall reasonable price, however be careful, like any restaurant with a bar, you don't get carried away with drinks or the price can be high.

First, the restaurant itself is done very well. Second, the drink I had was really good, the Pleasure Punch, which was a Prosecco cocktail. Third, the two appetizers we ordered were not that good. The first was a white bean Baba Ganoush served with toasted focaccia bread I didn't taste anything other than white beans in the Baba Ganoush, which was disappointing. Second, there is a thin line between stale bread and toasted bread...it tasted more like stale focaccia bread, also disappointing. I know that judging from one appetizer isn't enough, but considering what I've heard about the place, I had pretty high expectations. I would consider going back when I visit though.

This is a must go for anyone who is into great food and drinks. Parking is easy, and our server Amanda was top notch. The number of choices were amazing and i can't wait to go back. I would recommend reservations and plan on spending some time because the menu seems endless.

Not sure what all the fuss is about at this new trendy Carmel eatery. Lots of silver and black make for a chic interior, and the space is well laid out. I came here for lunch with a friend on a weekday, and the place was fairly empty. The waiter explained that the large tasting menu was filled with small dishes meant to be shared and ordered at different times during the meal. A stack of plates and cup of silverware were waiting on our table. To start, I sampled the cucumber water and found it to be just that: water with slight cucumber flavoring. The lunch offerings, located on the last pages of the small plates menu, included an interesting mix of flavors to tease the palate. I decided on the gourmet grilled cheese with a side of ginger soba noodles; my friend had the mini chicken barbecue sandwiches with fruit. Unfortunately, the fig spread just didn't mix well with the melted cheese and sliced apples and gave the sandwich a very odd flavor, despite the crusty bread. The ginger noodles weren't much more than a pile of vermicelli sitting in a watery, overpowering sauce. My friend's meal consisted of two mini chicken sandwiches made of minced chicken, which she said tasted good. The fruit was fresh and plentiful. House-made sweet pickles accompanied the lunches. Wait service was somewhat lacking, considering the restaurant was practically empty. For $10 a piece for lunch, I considered it a cheap venture to see what people in Carmel are buzzing about. While I'm sure there are good dishes to be had, one might have to spend a bit of time and money before finding the ones that are worth eating.

Cool environment by the bar. Great concept but poor execution. Drinks are good but the food didn't impress at all. The menu looks great but when you get the food, it fails to impress. It just not taste good. I've been there twice already and out of the 10 things I tried, I only like one thing.

First off, the address is 71 W. City Center Drive. It is not on W Carmel Drive. I love the small plates concept and this menu is amazing with a wide variety of dishes. The vegetarian and gluten free options are marked on the menu. I went there with my husband and his parents. My husband and I will definitely be back to sample more of the extensive menu! We shared the mac and cheese with lobster, goat cheese, tempura tofu, corn creme brulee, scallop rockafella, frog legs, and tenderloin satay. Everything was delicious and easy to share! The service was very attentive. The decor was gorgeous with options to seat two people up to a large group.

Fantastic environment and location, but not long after being seated could I tell that this was run by the owners of Woody's Library. It started with our orders. We were a group of six and ordered 8 small plates. Remember they are SMALL PLATES. Our waitress informed us that there wouldn't be enough of room at the table, so she would bring them in two stages. This made no sense. We said we were going to share (the whole point of this place) and we would make room. She rolled her eyes and left. If we let her have her way, we would have had a few members without food. Not a good suggestion. When she came back with our food we had no silver ware. It was later delivered in a little box, which I guess was cute. Too bad it only had place settings for 4. Whoops. I then had to ask for napkins. I didn't think serving food was really this complicated. After we received our napkins we never saw her until we left. Never came to check on us, offer more drinks or food. One of my friends never even received their beer. The food was pretty good, but often fried, with sauces and presentation as the focus. The whole experience made me miss Zing which was a similar mod-tapas restaurant downtown near the canal which has since closed. Prices were a little high considering that there wasn't much to any of the food in ingredients or volume. A cute place for a date or to try out, but I wouldn't make this place regular. Service stunk.. don't know why I would have to ask for napkins or silverware.. I'm don't think I've ever had to ask for both.. and then not even receive enough. The Woody's owners spend plenty on the decor, but again miss the point. If I hate the person serving me I won't be back. And really.. get some fresh ingredients and stop frying everything.. FRIZZLE apparently means FRIED by the way. And don't order the FRIZZLED soybeans which were like edamame converted into mushy roasted peanuts.

We came to this place because Shapiro's, a well known deli, had closed. The setting is nice, surrounded by other cute shops and with a hip modern edginess. The waitress was extremely friendly; we almost asked to sit down with us but we are not sure we would return. The menu was so confusing, pair this with that, this is vegan, that is vegetarian, get this as a small tapas style plate or bigger one. We were exhausted trying to decide what to eat when we were starving, two Ivy League grads and one with a fancy MBA. We had to ask for help to choose and figure all out. We finally decided on the great appetizer of cucumbers with smoked chicen and bacon bits. Yum, but then our little tiny tiny salads arrived with four separate shrimp and shredded chicken; we gobbled them down and were still starving but because we are trying to be wheat and dairy free we couldn't have any of the desserts! oh well. We hope this place succeeds since it's a bit different than your average burger, boring salad joint. But please try to simplify the menu. And by the way, we went afterward for coffee to another place around the corner for great lattes and espresso--Hubbard and Cravens....delicious and by far better than Peets, STarbucks and others.

Really not all jazzed about this place after our first go around here. Atmosphere was great and trendy and all, but food was a big disappointment. Service was very average. We waited about 15 minutes for a table in the bar and got a cozy booth:) There was a private party in the restaurant portion. Duckidillas were good and was probably our favorite, ground duck with brie. We also, had chicken nachos-very bland chicken, tasted like something you would give an infant starting to eat meat for the 1st time straight from the food processor. A brie, apple pretzel crostini that was tasty. We were trying to decide between the lamb and bison burgers and waitress said definitely the lamb, taste like meat that soaked in a cabernet sauce too long, very rubbery. Only ate 2 pieces of the lamb. Seared Tuna was our next favorite thing we ordered We were still hungry and I wanted something warm so I ordered the vegetable bisque soup that had a ton of basalmic syrup poured on top of it. This had to come right out of a make your baby food at home recipe book. 5 small plates two cocktails = $90! Ouch. At least we can say we tried it.

Had a great first time experience at Divvy. Our waitress, Lola, was very helpful in explaining the menu and making recommendations. She was very attentive and brought in a food in a way that our table never felt crowded with all of our small plates. Highly recommend the queso blanco, steak bites, and Sweet Pablo.

The only reason Divvy gets 2 stars from me instead of one is that the food and drinks were actually very good! Our delicious food was however, greatly overshadowed by the blatant rudeness of our waitress Shay for no apparent reason. My only guess is she was displeased we came for drinks and a few snacks to test out the place instead of ordering enough for a full meal and thereby ensuring her a good tip. We would have tipped her well enough for decent service and even left an albeit modest tip for the near offensive service that came with our food. I would be willing to give them another try if I'm in the area (and have a different server) just for the food but will not be recommending this place to anyone! Perhaps the restaurant needs to reevaluate their customer service practices or at least one of their employees.
