It's been years since I've been to the first Chill that opened about 10 years ago on dempster. My fave combo then was the chocolate covered strawberry. I like that they continue to offer combo options, and allow you to make your own concoctions. I got almond, chocolate, and coconut. I requested more almond less coconut in my combo, and the server didn't give any fuss. Although powdered usually isn't ideal, this was blended real well without any chalky texture. I also don't usually like tapioca, or the bubbles, due to frequent inconsistencies. But I tried my sister's stawberry taro, and the tapioca was very soft, smaller in size, mild chew, and carried a sweet buttery flavor. Perfect bubbles! Subconsciously I've always opted out of chill over the years... But after this trip, I think I'd come back more often

came here a couple times because we were on the waiting list for bdubs and had time to kill.. the service was ok.. the drinks was eh.. taste very generic.. most of the drinks ive tried is overly sweet and that kills the flavor of the drink.. there was also a drink ive tried that i think it was the almond milk tea.. it was bland and seems like i can only taste the almond flavor and nothing else.. not a place that i would come back to..

I spontaneously came by Chill Bubble Tea when it was super hot the other day and I want to say that it was a pleasant experience overall. First of all, the interior is nice and there are plenty of seats and tables. I never knew Chill had frozen yogurt options as well and the drink list was pretty diverse. I've been to another location before at Woodfield mall and they only serve bubble tea. I ended up getting a milk tea with boba and it was okay. I probably will end up getting something fruitier next time.

They definitely change things around the last time I've been here. No longer icy bubble tea. Last time I had the Thai ice tea bubble tea and it was icy I wasn't even able to enjoy it. This time I tried something else and it was great. Had the cool blue raspberry bubble tea with tapioca and it was great.

Decided to try a new bubble tea place on a whim and I'm glad we chose this place! The flavors are mind blowing! What I loved the most is the purple Oreo flavor- it is purple, but tastes like Oreo! The orange cream is also good :). Another thing that I liked is that they have a wide variety of popping boba to choose from- not just tapioca. Lastly, the staff is friendly and I loved their tip jar- it had a drawing of Tina from Bob's Burgers. Don't forget to take a seat on the swing chairs before you leave!

The employees behind the counter are really nice, and answer all questions about the drinks. As they have tons of new modern flavors, it makes the boba tea experience enjoyable. Having a ton of popping boba is nice too. Come here for a quick drink as these guys are quick.

I used to love this place. My last two visits have been such a disappointment. There was absolutely NO FLAVOR! At first I thought it a specific person but today's visit proved otherwise. Don't bother with this place. Take the extra time to go to Joy Yee's in Evanston (or any other Joy Yee's in Chicago).

We ordered takeout sushi from next door and I thought I'd get drinks as well. My daughter and I love this place, and I wanted my husband to try it. The girl behind the counter was working alone so it took forever! There were several people in front of us and the poor thing was taking their orders and making their drinks too...all by herself. Makisu (the sushi restaurant) was going to close before I picked up our order so I went, left my daughter in this line, came back, and we STILL hadn't ordered! But apart from this experience, the drinks are made to order, healthy and tasty! So we keep coming back. We just won't on a weekend night!

We used to live down the street from this place and would come get smoothies whenever a craving hit. Oh my goodness do I miss it! They have awesome combinations of flavors and weird ones you'd never think of. Purple oreo? That's smoothie talk for yummy. Thai tea? That's smoothie talk for just what the doctor ordered. Bottom line: check it out if you're in the area A little extra: sometimes they have cupcakes from a local bakery - Le Sucre, which are delectable.

I'm from the West coast and our drinks are way better than what they serve here. I tried Chill Bubble Tea for the first time ever and I highly disliked their tapioca balls (in Southern Cali we call it "boba"). The tapioca is bland and has no flavor, and does nothing to help the poorly flavored drinks (smoothie/shake/etc.) I ordered the Orange Torpedo and I could only taste the textured powder of the flavors combined. It wasn't appetizing at all. For all you Yelpers out there, come to San Diego, CA and try Lollicup or Tapioca Express! The best variety of these types of drinks you'll ever experience. Sorry Chill Bubble Tea :/

Ordered an avocado shake with tapioca and it tastes like all milk with ice and a very small hint of avocado. Not sweet as well. Doesn't even compare to Joy Yees.

This was my first time having a smoothie from this place. I got the Mango one and it was amazing! I loved it. It was very fresh!

smoothie was way too sweet full of sugar and no real fruit just flavored powder. not worth the price. i would rather go to jamba juice.

This place is yummmmmy. Best bubble tea in Chicago, hands down. I recently went with a friend after we went to dinner at the sushi place next door (review to come). My friend is not a bubble tea fan (i know, it's a shame) but oh my goodness, they now have FROZEN YOGURT too! I must be out of the loop, I haven't been to a Chill since they changed hands over at the Dempster location. I've always been a fan, always loved their fruit smoothies. I had an avocado bubble tea which was just heavenly. The smoothie was creamy and delicious and the tapioca .. soft and chewy, everything I remember Chill to be. My friend got the froyo with a strawberry, blueberry, and mochi combo. Yum! We sat on the famous swing chairs and felt like a bunch of teenagers again! It was a great time. What sets this place above others *in my opinion* is the service. They were so friendly and helpful, they took the time to explain everything on the menu. They say hello and goodbye, and the loyalty card is a nice touch!

Oh bubble tea... how I adore thee. I agree with the other reviews that the tapioca here is very soft and not popsicle textured like at a lot of other places. I enjoy that they carry cupcakes from my favorite bakery here. The decor is nice and they do have the wooden swings near the door, but it's not as fun as it seems... they're secured to the ceiling and floor so it's not like you can actually swing on them. Great place to stop if you're having a bubble tea craving and are in the area.

  • Mas I.

Good stuff (although I never get the tapioca, which basically makes my drink a smoothie rather than a bubble tea). My only complaint is that they have a rather limited number of flavors for a store that deals almost exclusively in bubble teas. Most bubble tea places I have been to have a larger selection of flavors. Although more fresh fruit flavors would be nice, even more powder flavors would be fine. They carry various hot chocoate selections during the winter months. I have always found the people very nice. Added pros: free wifi and they give out cards of the buy-six-get-your-seventh-drink-free variety.

Craving some bubble tea on this warmish day. Chose the almond milk slushee, going away from my usual mango. Good choice! Almond flavor, creamy but light. Nice amount of tapioca pearls. Guess this will be my flavor of choice for this bubble tea chain Service quick, decent parking in this mega strip mall

  • Andrew K.

I'll admit it. I like fake bubble tea smoothies (not real fruit). I was excited to find this place at a friends recommendation. I'm a big fan of the honeydew flavor and whenever I get real fruit its always a disappointment. The tapioca is always good and soft. Can't stand hard and dry tapioca. They have a decent selection of flavors. Staff seems new though. A couple times I have been there and some of them don't know what to do which I find funny since it seems like their gig is automated.

  • Danny M.

Stopped by here with my friend because we just finished eating around the area and we were thirsty from our food. I ordered the classic milk tea bubble tea and it was way too sweet for my liking. With so many good bubble tea places by me, there is no reason for me to come here again. Service was a bit iffy as well.

    (3)
  • Dawn G.

I truly enjoy coming here. It is a hike for me to drive, but worth it. We are usually there at night, so it is not busy. There is usually only one person behind the counter, but we don't have to wait too long. Nine times out of ten the are super friendly and fun. I am always with my family so it's a large order. Our drinks are always done right and taste yummy. I love the variety! I wish there was one closer to me in Will county. Whenever I am in the general area, I make sure to make a stop at Chill Bubble Tea! (On a side note... the Chill Bubble Tea at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg is a whole other story. It is the WORST!)

I've had my share of Bubble Tea's to know what's good and what's not and, unfortunately, Chill Bubble Tea doesn't cut it for me anymore. It's close to my work, so I've come for lunch numerous of times and I must say that the bubble tea's I get here are all very bland and are "uneventful". I usually get my fav - green tea with tapioca, but last time I was here, I went for the mocha bean with tapioca and it was a pretty gross "mocha less " bubble tea. I am also very picky when it comes to the tapioca balls and these don't do it for me either. They are soft at first, then become hard, making it difficult to finish the drink. Their selection is pretty limited, with very few combinations to pick from. The inside of this place is just as bland and boring as their drinks - all white and very little decor. The service is fairly quick, but I've only seen two people at the most whenever I am here. The only upside is if you check-in through Yelp, you get 10% off your order. After my last visit, it is highly unlikely that I will come back here, especially knowing a few options that are much better in the area - sorry!

  • Adam W.

One of my favorite places for bubble tea. Clean, quick service, and the employees are nice. I'm a big fan of almond and lychee. Not a place that I come frequently, but the first one I think of when I'm in the mood for bubble tea.

    (4)
  • Allison H.

My daughter and I go here when she needs her bubble tea fix. Super friendly staff and great bubble tea. Taro is my favorite.

    (5)
  • Krunal P.

I went there to grab a quick bubble tea since this was the only place near by. I had Taro and Mango flavor teas with tapioca and lychee.

  • Jack N.

Came here on the coldest day out. Luckily it was not too busy so that the only employee there took time to make our drinks and was very welcoming. We got honeydew bubbletea, milktea bubbletea, tropical day dream, and the piece of mind. The two bubbletea drinks tasted as other bubble locations. The two looseleaf teas were great - the aroma, body of flavor, and temperature was well crafted. Wouldn't mind coming again but there are many bubble tea places to choose from as well.

    (4)
  • Jennie T.

The store is really cute. They have swings inside, but you can't swing... I feel like the design kind of defeats the purpose, but I suppose it's pretty. The drinks are okay. It's pretty average. The service was quick, which I liked. They even offer free wifi here, which was one of the main reasons why we checked it out. Unfortunately, the workers there didn't know how to explain their drinks, and my boyfriend ended up doing it for them for a few of their customers who were unfamiliar with the concept of "boba" or bubble tea. Strange.

    (3)
  • Derrin S.

I noticed that the loose-leaf teas that are on the shelf behind the counter are being stored in what appeared to be clear plastic containers, which I don't think would be a good way to store and preserve tea. One of the employees seemed less than respectful. While talking to a co-worker, the person was making rude comments in front of customers.

    (2)
  • Gianmarco P.

The drink is good. The service is terrible. We got here for a quick drink before a New Years party, and it's been 20minutes...(still no drink )

    (2)
  • Travis L.

This is a decent place to go for your bubble tea fix... BUT it's a bit too sweet and lacking the "tea" flavor one would expect. The bubbles were a good consistency and the drink tasted good. In the end I wouldn't go out of your way to come here but I'll at least be giving it a second try.

    (3)
  • Hubaab M.

Been going here for awhile but they seem to have fell off really bad. They use milk now and I believe some of the fruity drinks are actually really just flavor. They have a milky taste instead off the actual fruit and the texture of the fruit isn't really there at all. Going to go to outdoor cafe from now.

    (2)
  • Peter H.

I got a Thai tea from here. They were heavily understaffed for the time of day which made for a 10 minute wait. The drink was way too sweet and they charge extra for boba/tapioca.

  • Steve M.

I am always hoping that a lollicup will open in Illinois but until then this is the only place that is similar to what I have found in California. This shop has plenty of options of fruit to blend together. The last time I ordered the orange torpedo which was mango, orange, and peach. It was very good and I would order it again. The store is always clean and the workers are always friendly. It's in an odd location or set least I think it is odd there is plenty of parking.

    (3)
  • Michael A.

The only thing great about this place is the half asian girl that was working that took my order. Pass on the oreo icee no matter how tempted you are, trust me. The mango is soooo unbearably sweet so if you do decide to order this one, make sure you tell them less sweet.

    (2)
  • Rebecca E.

Ordered a milk tea bubble tea, blended. The tapioca balls were delicious, and so was the drink. It was a one woman show when I went, and she got an order wrong but gave it complimentary to the girl, and redid the order. Just felt bad that she was alone with no help. Would go again if I wanted bubble tea, but wouldn't go out of my way for it.

  • Cindy L.

I'm a bubble tea purest. I always get some kind of milk tea or thai tea with boba over ice. This place is just blagh. The tea itself was okay - I could tell it was from a powder mix instead of a liquid concentrate. The boba was awful - no flavor at all - if it doesn't have flavor, I don't eat it. The original size was way smaller than average and it was definitely 75% ice in the cup. Also, the place was completely empty on a hot Saturday afternoon, which to me is a red flag. When my brother and I walked in, the 2 people working there looked up, didn't say a word, and went back to counting their tip money. Definitely don't go here.

  • Katie T.

One of my favorite places to go for bubble teas... Found out about it because its not far from where I work and so far I've only tried the taro and green tea bubble teas but both were completely delicious. The vibe of this place is trendy and very cute. Service is always super fast and usually really nice. Becoming one of my fav's!

    (5)
  • Cynthia Y.

Coming from LA, this place is very average in my eyes. If you're from California, I guess you can say this place is equivalent to Tapioca Express/Quicklys. Not a lot of selections. Everything is too too sweet. Boba/bubble was average. Cute interior. Friendly young staff.

There's a reason "Chill" is in the business name. This is a calm, relaxing place with friendly, helpful staff that will make your experience great whether it's your first time trying bubble tea or you're a bubble tea veteran. Chill Bubble Tea will please your group even if there's indecision in your group. Their froyo is varied in flavor and very delicious and hot tea is available for those cool summer and fall nights and winter days. This makes Chill Bubble Tea a great spot for quickly popping in, hanging out with friends, a date spot, or even great for the family. Those in doubt: just try it!

    (5)
  • Amy L.

Not a fan of places that use powder as flavoring for every drink especially when the Thai Tea comes out bland and tastes like sugar water. Kudos to the staff though because they are all super friendly.

  • Laura N.

I was SO thrilled to find out this opened recently nearby my house. Now I have a place to go and get this delicious, strange drink. Finally remembered/had a chance to stop by today and try some - a Pina Colada bubble tea. YUM! AMAZING! I LOVE IT!! The tapioca balls are softer than I expected but they harden a bit after sitting in the chilled drink for awhile. DELICIOUS!!! (The swings for seats in the place are pretty neat, too.)

  • Linda L.

I like the decoration. It's so friendly. The bubble tea is good. My favorite is original milk tea. Recommended!

    (5)
  • Andy S.

Love it, not sure why. Much better bubble tea than what I can get in Wisconsin, mango strawberry is my favorite. Purple oreo is good too, but something about drinking a purple smoothy that tastes like chocolate makes it less enjoyable.

    (5)
  • Nicole S.

More icy and sweet than other bubble tea drinks that I have had in the past. Not bad, but just not my preference. I prefer my drinks subtly sweet and creamy.

I looooove Chill! I make my boyfriend drive out here every week or so to fulfill my Chill cravings. The decor is so cute -- I absolutely love the swings and the clean, spacious feeling of the store. Chill seems like the perfect kind of place for whatever you need to do, whether it's studying by yourself, reading leisurely, or hanging out with friends. I also love the staff here. Everyone is really friendly and I usually get to chat a bit with whoever is there while they are preparing my order. Although I do like the froyo too (on par with Red Mango), I come to Chill primarily for the bubble tea. My favorite flavors are purple Oreo, taro, green tea latte, and I just recently discovered green tea milk tea -- it's a combination of green tea latte and milk tea... TRY IT! The tapioca is pretty much perfection, not too sweet and not overly chewy. I actually like how they become a bit frozen toward the end of my drink and I always make sure that I get the last of the tapioca in the cup. The best thing about Chill is that they pretty much have a flavor to fit my every mood. Sometimes I'm craving something sweeter and thicker, and that's when I go for the purple Oreo or taro. Sometimes I want something a bit more refreshing, and then I get a strawberry shortcake (combination of strawberry and almond) or an orange starburst. LOVE!

So after passing by about a thousand times, I took the time to go into Chill Bubble Tea. I have three words to describe my experience: Cute, Yummy, and Quiet. First of, who ever decorated this place knew what appeals to the eye. Such a pretty setting, and the swing-chairs were a great touch I've ever seen anywhere else. Yummy because I've had millions of Bubble Tea flavors and I've never had a better watermelon than here. Also, I recommend the Strawberry Cupcakes. Quite because when you go anywhere on a weekend, especially a place that sells bubble tea, you'd expect to be filled with obnoxious teens or other annoying patrons, but I wasn't bothered as I ate and drank with my Fiancé. So looking for a place for a quick bite and an out of the ordinary tasting drink, Chill Bubble Teas is #1. And the service was also quite great.

Hello Mr./Ms. Indecisive! Not sure if you want a bubble tea? How about a hot tea? Oh no wait, you want fro-yo? Aw heck, just get them all because Chill does a heck of a great job on them all. Chill has two options for their bubble-teas: ones made from flavored powders and ones made from real fruit. The thought of only getting "fake flavoring" makes me make the best of both world - Coconut and GreenTea Latte... also Strawberry and Green Tea Latte. The staff is pretty cool. Just like your neighborhood coffeeshop where you can joke around with them as friends, the Chill employees are very friendly and overall fun people. I can easily come here to study, relax, or (sorry for the bad pun) "chill." The prices are a bit on the higher side, but it works for a once-in-a-while treat. Bubbleteas/Hot-teas average between $4-5. Plus, with their "reward card", get a free drink after 7. Great for a drink before the movies, date nights, hanging out, bumming around, studying your butt off, post-exercise, and just being thirsty.

Finally a place I can go to nearby for milk tea (other than Joy Yee's Evanston). All other places us are terrible for milk tea! This place makes milk tea in 'freeze' form not liquid but it was good! Reminds me of how Boba Bee in Lincolnwood (now closed) used to make it but less sweet and no lavender flavor. This is better! Such a cute place too! Has swing seating haha. They also have other fruit smoothies, teas, froyo and cupcakes. Saw other people order froyo, looked alright. Only thing is, it is expensive!! My milk tea was almost $4 (incl tax) for the original size (maybe 12oz?). Two sizes are avail: original and large. I have been to the Woodfield location before but this one is better.

Awesome Green Tea bubble tea, although I think it is a expensive for what it is but it is really good and can't get enough!

Hey there neighbor! I see you. I see you and you are taunting me. I love you. Whats that you say? You love me too? A bit of background on the beginning, I am a recovering bubble tea addict. My love for the stuff grew in the early '90's. A friend of mine told me to try it because it had a unique taste, texture (tapioca), and flare. It was good! Real good. Too good in fact. The addiction started of small much like other addictions. I would only go get some after some dinner with friends. Then after every time I past Chinatown with some friends. I knew it was bad because I was going by myself and researching on the Internet on how to make it at home. I was a goner. Luckily for me, I snapped out of it. Or so I think. I frequent Village Crossing for all my basic needs and almost immediately, I saw the signage coming up. I STALKED this place until they finally opened up. First order of business, Bubble tea. Watermelon please. To my surprise it was creamy and frozen and delicious. The tapioca balls were soft and pillow-y. At that very moment...it got nostalgic for me. I might or might not have teared up, nobody will ever know. It was fantastic. Then I snapped out of my daze and looked around. "This place is pretty snazzy", I said to myself. They have a little drink bar facing outwards toward the window and swings for seats. Modern booths and chairs. The service was good and the location is VERY VERY convenient. This might be a problem. If you catch me in there, DON'T LOOK AT ME!

I like this place more for its cheesy name than I do for their drinks. The ambiance: Really bright. They have some quirky furniture. Check it out. The drinks: I had the Taro Milk Tea. About average. No chalky taste that some major chains in California have, but the flavor was still a bit chemical-y. Cheap enough to warrant trying other flavors, though. The service: No complaints. TL;DR - Decent. Not worth writing home about.

Cute place and great Taro Bubble tea, I also got just an iced tea from their loose leaf tea they carry and it was really pleasant.

I never realized how actually spoiled I really have been by Chill until yesterday. I visited a Vietnamese sandwich shop (which shall remain nameless) that had by far, the WORST tapioca I've ever had in my life. One could say it was...Ba Le-ony! (ha ha ha, I hate myself.) Tapioca, after all, is what MAKES bubble tea. Anyone can make a smoothie, but it's the care that's put into the delicious, chewy pearls that define good bubble tea. Chill makes great bubble tea.

    (5)
  • Nicole H.

I love this place! They have about 20, maybe more flavors of bubble tea on their menu, but you can mix any to create your own flavor. When it comes to variety, I would say other people are over exaggerating when they say there is not enough. I have only gotten their fro-yo once, and they were generous with the toppings. On one occasion the girl made to little of my bubble tea, and she offered to either make more or top it with more fresh fruit. They DO use fresh fruits in their bubble tea, and on occasion you may end up getting chunks stuck in your straw. Sure they use green tea powder and other flavored powders... however the powders are not artificial they are just a ground version of the real thing. I don't know about you, but I don't want tea leaves in my bubble tea. Their workers are extremely friendly. My only complaint is that they do not open until 11:30, when I know several people who work in the area with me that would love to be able to grab one for breakfast.

I've only been to two Chill locations and one review about their bubble tea recipes is enough. They're great. There are a ton of options for mixing or stand alone flavors. This particular chill has a better consistency than the one at the Woodfield Mall, and the tapioca doesn't have that 'just out of the freezer' taste to it. It's also a very clean place, and always VERY A/C-ed during the summer, making it wondrous to walk into. What really makes this Chill shine is the customer service. Not one employee that has ever served me has been rude, or inattentive. Once I wanted to try a certain flavor before I got it if it was possible. I'm not sure if it was because I was a regular at the time or they were just very generous, but the guy there made me AN ENTIRE regular size drink! This is ASIDE from the one I had already ordered. Another time, they were out of tapioca (which isn't a normal thing so don't go grumbling) and the girl that was working there said she really liked the lychee even more than the tapioca, and recommended it. I love it when people make recommendations. It means they're not robot zombie slaves and they actually care about their job or myself, the customer. I wasn't sure about having something so sweet in my drink, but she gave me a LUMP of lychee bits to try and see if I wanted them, no extra charge. The only thing I would redo if it were my own little cafe is the seating area. I think the chain swing idea is very cute, but it's built so awkwardly that everyone can hear your conversation, and it's just not a cozy place, even for a family, to stay and sip drinks. In fact, the only people that are ever hanging out there are teenagers (little cliques of them, and honestly if I was a teenager and had nowhere else to go, that wouldn't be such a bad hangout) and friends of the employees. Mind you for those people who are looking for freshly prepared all natural bubble tea, this isn't the place. It's a chain that has a recipe for flavoring their drinks, and some drinks yes, have more natural recipes than others. I don't hold that against them whatsoever because if I wanted bubble tea that tasted more homey I would go down Devon to the Elephant. Which is a great place, by the way.

The interior is cute with little swing seats. However, This place is terrible in terms of taste, which is what a restaurant should be delivering. The drinks are terrible! My friend got a coffee flavored bubble tea and I got green tea flavor. They were extremely tasteless, it almost tasted like water. Furthermore the tapioca is absolutely bland and even bordering on bitter! Spend your money elsewhere on better bubble tea.

  • Baba D.

Bubble tea is not hard to come by in Chicago (almost every Thai place offers a version of them), but GOOD bubble tea is a dificult find. This place delivers. Their tapioca pearls (bubbles) always taste fresh and chewy as they should. Their green tea is actually made with matcha green tea powder. Chai tea is sweet and spicy. Thai tea is smoky, spicy & rich. You can get them in a slush form or iced (traditional). I'm liking the blended version more because it lasts longer. I have tried bubble tea in China town (Joy-Yee cafe) and this place outperforms in quality/consistency. Price? It is what it is, but I think it's right in-line with other bubble teas. I hope they start opening some in the Chicago neighborhoods!

This place is my guilty pleasure. And, its not as bad as a milkshake from baskin, so the guilt isn't nearly as guilt-like. my personal fav that has become a permanent member of the menu, is the horchata bubble tea. soo deelish! service is always A+. friendly smiling faces, but not that over-the-top fake stuff. and they crank out your drink super fast. i'm not going to be snobby and say, "I've been coming here forever since before it got popular" - however, I'm just going on record saying I've been a longtime fan of this place, and it will get popular and i'll grumble to myself saying it was nice while it lasted. This place is great, and as of right now, whenever i go in there, there's no line, and the place is not packed. this will be short lived however, my senses tell me so.

This place is just okay. I've been here twice, the first time was when they had their promotion around their opening day. It wasn't too bad then, but I was pretty sure that they were using frozen fruit. This time, I ordered their special, I think it was called orange starburst...or orange sunburst--it's supposed to be made of orange, strawberry and watermelon. Anyway, the price is decent and the service was pretty good. They also have a stamp card, if you buy 6, you get one free. That's a weird number if you ask me, but I'm not complaining. Well I actually kinda of am, when my boyfriend and I received our drinks (he ordered a strawberry watermelon), and we were highly disappointed. You could definitely tell that the watermelon in both drinks were powder and the taste was so artificial it made the entire drink taste terrible. The tapioca was decent, it was perfectly chewy (it later froze a bit), but it had no sweetness whatsoever. Their decor and store in general I have to commend. I love their nostalgic swing chairs, and because majority of their store is white, it gives off a clean feeling. I have to say that their bubble tea is average, if not, mediocre--but their store is cute and clean.

Great frozen yogurt! not too tangy and not too milky..just right! the swings are a great addition. not too sure how packed it gets during evening and night hours because i usually go in the day and it seems pretty dead

I've had bubble tea once and was pretty torn on how I felt about it. I decided it was time to give it another go...enter Chill Bubble Tea. Don't let the location fool you...this is a very cute little place and perfect for meeting a friend or date for a sweet treat. Love the little swing seating in the front area! I got one of the classic creations - green tea latte while my partner in bubble tea crime went for the taro. We were both happy with our choices. The gal behind the counter was helpful with suggestions. The establishment was clean and we were taken care of promptly...but that's probably b/c the snow put an end to the bubble tea rush that I'm sure would have happened if it had not been snowing! I would come back and give it another whirl. I liked my bubble tea experience a bit more than I did the first time around (at another establishment). I'm curious about their frozen yogurt...and the other unusual flavors they had up on the board....

My boyfriend and I had gone to the mall to run some errands and by the end I was dying of thirst, so I dragged him to Chill Bubble Tea just to slake my thirst...and it was so yummy! I wished I lived closer so I could come here more often! I really want to sit on the swing seats at some point. When we first drove up, we thought it was closed, since there was no one...and I mean no one inside, just the two lonely employees just waiting for the likes of me to ask crazy questions and stare at the menu for 5 minutes before finally deciding on the orange creme smoothie bubble tea drink (I call it a smoothie because that is what i was told) with tapioca. My boyfriend ordered the coconut bubble tea. MMMMM, thirst begone!! Orange creme was flavorful, tasty, quenched my thirst, and those tapioca beads were pure yumminess. Coconut....not so much. I am not partial to coconut to begin with, and that tasted odd and was too watery. But I was completely happy. This is why Chill gets 4 stars and I really wish I could be a regular here.

can you say "YERMEH!!" Chill always hits the (froyo) spot. Their froyo has just the right amount of tanginess and the fruit toppings are always so sweet and ripe. The place, just like its name, is very 'chill', clean, and chic. I've been pretty much a regular ever since they opened up, and will continue to be even during the cold days. =)

I've many a bubble tea, smoothie, etc, and Chill Bubble Tea is a good place to get one. We were recommended by a friend to try this place, and disappointed we were not. I ordered the Mango Tapioca Smoothie...which was good. If you're ever in the Village Crossing Mall area, and in the mood for a cool smoothie, you should try this place. Overall, good smoothies, good service, okay prices.

Yuck....any place that does not use real fruit for bubble teas...instead uses milk and/or flavored syrup is low-class, gross, cheap, poor and disgusting and should be shut down.....ghetto bubble tea shop

They have pretty good bubble tea, but not as good as Joy Yee's, Quickly (a chain in CA, NYC, ATL) or Snow Mountain (ATL). I'm a usual customer here and my fav is the taro freeze with tapioca. It's a bit pricey at near $5 for a large after tax but that's expected around Chicagoland. My other complaint is their hours. I always seem to have a hankering right after they close (9pm some nights, 11pm on weekends). As a result, I go to Oh Bubble Tea in Morton Grove as an alternative. They're not as good, but they stay open late.

I've loved bubble tea since I lived in China in 1999-2000. I'm used to it served hot like I had it in China. I was a little disappointed that wasn't an option here. I had the lychee bubble tea and my daughter had vanilla. Both were good. They do have other hot tea drinks, so that's probably what I'll have if I go here again.

I frequent this spot because it is so close to my home and I enjoy sitting on the "swing set" and drinking my bubble tea. I always get a mil tea bubble tea smoothie, but lately I have been having complaints about it being a bit thick to the point that I could not taste the milk anymore, so my advice, tell the employees to make your bubble tea with less ice to keep it at a nice consistency. They also just started to serve yogurt as well which gives me all the more reason to visit. The people are nice, very young employees, so at times it can be a bit overbearing with their younger high school friends making noise and taking 1 million pictures of themselves and their peers, but I don't really complain because I used to do it too. Their tea selection is very, unique to say the least, but good regardless. They had chocolate tea which kind of makes you go "huh?" Tried it for sh*ts and giggles and ended up liking it, but trust me when I say that it is an acquired taste. All and all, quaint, yet kind of unwelcoming with the muted and small furniture. Unique that it provides a person with different kinds of teas and convenient enough that I could get my bubble tea fix in a jiffy. Ooh and dont forget to ask for stamp cards. If you get stamped 10 times you get a free drink, hooray!

Basically what the rating is says, I've experienced better. I had the french vanilla, it was a bit too slushy, not as smooth as I expected. I'm curious on the fruit smoothy, but that was my only time around there so I gave it a shot. The store front is very clean, really hip furniture, and nice design. The drinks are a little pricey for what you get, but then again your not in Chinatown. They had some interesting other named drinks maybe worth trying the next time I'm ever there. Good luck to Chill ~

My wife happened to stumble on Chill Bubble Tea a few days ago. We shop at Village Crossing all the time but Chill is in a section that is off the beaten path. We never even realized it was there. I had the cotton candy bubble tea which was delicious. Chill is definitely a great addition to the area and I will be going back soon.

I'm disappointed to say I still haven't had the opportunity to actually try a bubble tea from here. So instead, I'm writing about how annoying it is to specifically drive here two separate times only to arrive and hear that they are out of tapioca. Any bubble tea enthusiast understands that tapioca is the highlight of bubble tea. So --- "annoyed" and "disappointed" pretty much sums up my two experiences here.

FANTASTIC BUBBLE TEA, but there's this one guy there who acts like he has better things to do than to serve you bubble tea. Don't let that get to you, because the drinks are fantastic, and it is such a cute little place.

the very first time i tried the place, i think the owner took my order and since it was my first time she took the time to explain to me what was bubble tea and what they served... i decided to try the mocha bean which tastes like coffee shake and it was pretty good! ever since then we've been back soooo many times.... it kinda got addicting for awhile! love their tapioca cuz it's soft... but just be careful eating this cuz it's a choking hazzard especially to little kiddos! There is one server there that's not very friendly at all! but whatever... i just go for the shake!

when i come here i swear its the highlight of my day! watermelon smoothie with extra tapioca mmmmm deee_licous! the people are nice its a young staff so u see teenagers in there alot but no biggie really looove the swinging chairs by the window.

  • Phillip M.

Stopped by here with my friend because we just finished eating around the area and we were thirsty from our food. I ordered the classic milk tea bubble tea and it was way too sweet for my liking. With so many good bubble tea places by me, there is no reason for me to come here again. Service was a bit iffy as well.

One of my favorite places for bubble tea. Clean, quick service, and the employees are nice. I'm a big fan of almond and lychee. Not a place that I come frequently, but the first one I think of when I'm in the mood for bubble tea.

    (2)
  • Peter H.

I got a Thai tea from here. They were heavily understaffed for the time of day which made for a 10 minute wait. The drink was way too sweet and they charge extra for boba/tapioca.

    (4)

One of my favorite places to go for bubble teas... Found out about it because its not far from where I work and so far I've only tried the taro and green tea bubble teas but both were completely delicious. The vibe of this place is trendy and very cute. Service is always super fast and usually really nice. Becoming one of my fav's!

Not a fan of places that use powder as flavoring for every drink especially when the Thai Tea comes out bland and tastes like sugar water. Kudos to the staff though because they are all super friendly.

Love it, not sure why. Much better bubble tea than what I can get in Wisconsin, mango strawberry is my favorite. Purple oreo is good too, but something about drinking a purple smoothy that tastes like chocolate makes it less enjoyable.

LOVE!

They ALWAYS skimp on toppings!! Red Mango at least fills each 3 sides with toppings! I come here because of location, but it annoys me so much on how they are so stingy!!

the very first time i tried the place, i think the owner took my order and since it was my first time she took the time to explain to me what was bubble tea and what they served... i decided to try the mocha bean which tastes like coffee shake and it was pretty good! ever since then we've been back soooo many times.... it kinda got addicting for awhile! love their tapioca cuz it's soft... but just be careful eating this cuz it's a choking hazzard especially to little kiddos! There is one server there that's not very friendly at all! but whatever... i just go for the shake!
