Adagio Teas

Reviews:
This place is amazing! The staff there are super friendly, energetic and know SO much about their product. It is super fun to hang out there and sample teas, chat with friends and learn about the products. We went to a tea tasting there and they couldn't have been more fun and helpful - best experience ever! Shout out to Elliot, who is awesome!
Love Adagio teas!
Bad Service. Walked in and wanted to buy some tea as a gift. Picked out 5 bags (~$35 worth) and I could not get anyone to check me out. Frustrating, cash in hand, wanting to buy the tea and no one wants to take my money.

Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream

4041 Dempster St
Skokie, 60076
Reviews:
Excellent ice cream from Wisconsin! Made with all natural ingredients. Its cold fresh very flavorful. I had Fat Elvis, banana ice cream with real peanut butter and shaved dark chocolate pieces. My friend had the Butter Pecan, fresh pecans with creamy ice cream. Yum Yum Very clean interior, many cone choices and chocolate bowl choices. They also have a self serve frozen yogurt station with four flavors and your choice toppings. Simply the most delicious ice cream I have eaten this Summer. They open at 1pm. A nice lunch break stop:)
Out of all ice cream places I have been to, this feels like a creamery. Their flavors are unique and they even have fudge! Also they have self serve frozen yogurt with rotating flavors. Definitely a place worth checking out and as a bonus they happen to be kosher too! Enjoy!
This place isn't selling ice cream. There selling a way of life. The ice cream is so smooth I'm drooling just thinking about it. The place needs more costumers to stay open. People just need to find out about it it's in a little corner and needs more marketing or something. The only thing I don't like is the price it's a bit expensive in my opinion. If they came down on the prices it would be more realistic to get and cut out the big box brands and replace it with this. But everything perfect besides the price.

Our family has been coming here for years. Love this place. The guys here are service focused and serve up the best bagels and complimentary stuff like like lox, cream cheese and more. They take cash and CC. They make lots of flavors. This place is New York quality here in the Midwest
they don't take credit cards, they won't slice your bagels, and they don't give you paper plates if you're picking up to bring into work. but, they are one of the few places around here that has great, authentic bagels. i supposed that's what really matters.
Egg bagels and lox spread!!!! (PS this branch is better than the one of Touhy.)

Kabul House

4949 Oakton St
Skokie, 60077
Reviews:
I eat at Kabul House almost every week (close to work) and it's always the same wonderful experience - delicious food and great service at a very fair price. If you are heading there for lunch, they have several lunch specials that aren't listed on the current menu. My regular is the vegetarian special (even though I'm not a vegetarian), but everything I've had is really good. And the beef mantoo dumplings are amazing! Every customer I've brought here for a business lunch has loved it, too. They are always pleasantly surprised at the culinary offerings of Skokie!
Really fun place. Love Fresh Food. Enjoyed every bits and pieces of it. Even though I didn't got the window table but it was enjoyable experience. Love the authentic black tea, Almond Harrisa, Three Combo Platter. Loved it. Will go next time pretty soon and going to try new stuff.
Don't even know where to start. This place is amazing. From the amazing soup to the insanely tender and moist Murgh kabobs, Kabul House is the best. We take all of our family when in town and they can't believe how good it is. Oh, the Afghan rice is insane. The service is impeccable and BYOB! Do yourself a favor and hit this place up.

This place is fantastic. Very comfortable. They always have "the game" on. Food is hot, fresh and delish! Some of their new offerings are amazing, too.
A very casual diner with very solid diner fair. A wide selection including all the Chicagoland basics from Italian Beefs, to sausages, gyros, Reuben's & hot pastramis. The large selection can be daunting to the indecisive but it's inexpensive enough where you can try several things without worry. There's a lot of seating and a few arcade games in back to make it a popular place for families but also still enjoyable for the general public. Nothing fancy here, but it's true no frills diner fair done right.
My family from Chicago suggested this place because they know I love my Greek style food. I came here and had a very good conversation with the owner. Opened for 40 years which is just amazing knowing how hard it is to open places like this. I tried a couple of things and that we're all amazing. The service is fast and the arcade section of the place is just nice knowing how old they have been opened. They have so many choices to choose from. This place reminded me of home. Can't wait to come back in town to try this place again. I suggest this over all those other bad Greek places.

Sparky’s Snack Stop

3624 Oakton St
Skokie, 60076
Reviews:
I tried it several time and the cook doesn't want to prepare your meal as requested. I like my eggs cooked not runny but the cook does it his own way. Personally I think he's racist.
Sparky's is a little breakfast place I never would've found if it hadn't been for my dad's business nearby. I'll say this now--I am VERY glad that we discovered it because the food is delicious. I'm the biggest fan of breakfast foods and if you're looking for delicious pancakes, bacon, and eggs, I will not hesitate to say Sparky's is my go-to. The place is a little small-looking and you can miss it if you aren't paying attention on the road, but it's got a bar area and then seating further into the building. Service is always very friendly. This last time I went here, I got pancakes, eggs, and a side of bacon (as always). My brother got the ham and cheese melt. My mother got the corned beef hash with toast.
I have never been here before today...but that will change. This place is the kind of place I love, the kind of place that can't be replicated, the kind of place that never remodeled because they never needed too. Let's break it down... Ambiance--It's the kind of joint landscapers hangout at on break. It's working class and fast. Stools that have served thousands still work. The menu is on the wall with those letters that fit into the sign. As you enter a sign that states they support state workers greets you before you either sit down on a stool or go to the fancier room attached. Food-Fast. The Special had a ton of potatoes, eggs, and three links of sausage with white toast. It's really nothing but a ton of food. Go here...support these people.
