Checked this place out on a Saturday afternoon. Sport bar atmosphere with many viewable TVs. Extensive beer selection and large bar. On nice evenings, one entire wall can open to Wilson street. Service and Food menu were good but background (piped) music favored much too heavy metal and was annoying - can't say I'd want to return to that!

Great local place with a large beer selection. The food is really good and they have good specials. My wife and I frequent this place because it's good and the staff there always makes us feel at home. This is a once per week (at least) stop for us. Also a great place to watch your Chicago sports games. Lots of TV and a view from pretty much everywhere in the place.

Much better service this time. Our Server Rachael was very friendly and attentive. Place was packed at 6:00 on a Friday night. Owners (or Managers, not sure) are running around and are very concerned with making everyone happy. I could see sitting at the bar and watching a game here.

Okay since my last review I have ordered carry out once and have gone back twice and have to say. I'm starting to like this place, I am recommending the cheese curds and the Chicken Caesar Press sandwich they seem to have worked out most of the kinks

Went in yesterday for dinner before taking the train downtown. Told our sever our time sensitive dinner, and with his great service we were in and out. I wish I remembered his name! But its not 5 stars because the food didn't do anything for me. I order the jalapeno burger, and the patty looked like it was missing chunks off the sides. Not put together. They also dont let you up charge your side of fries to truffle, you'd have to buy the fries separate even though you already get fries. Big bummer. The garlic aioli is amazing to dip the plain fries in. Overall good. Thanks for the to go cups server!

Good beer and good food. Bartender was a bit clueless. Waitress brought my rating from a 4 to a 3. Disappeared for extended periods of time when we needed assistance. Too busy yapping with her peers and flirting. Took forever to get us our tab. Smiling doesn't hurt either. Get the staff act together.

Having just opened in Palatine, I was excited for a new place to try. It was mid -evening on a Friday but I only stayed for one drink and an appetizer. It was way to loud to sit in there any longer. It wasn't the crowds, there was none, it was the music and the TVs all on together way too loud. Now I have to wait for another new place.

Met friends for dinner and waited about 30 minutes for a table. Not a big deal on a Saturday night, but there isn't much space to wait and the bar was PACKED. We were seated in the back-the place is huge-and checked out the extensive beer menu. Unfortunately, no one came to take our order! After about 15 minutes I went back to the host stand and asked if we could get a server. We waited another 5 minutes before he finally tracked down the person that had our table. Bottom line...we waited, and waited, and waited for drinks, for food, for everything. The food was good, the menu has lots of great choices, love the hockey on TVs, but this place REALLY needs to work on their service. Tap Room has potential to be a gold mine in that location, but they need to step up their wait staff.

The Newly opened Tap House in Palatine offers a wide selection of draft brews, however the 16 oz snifter glasses are a bit untraditional and the beer warms up faster than a the taller pint glass. Enjoyed the crispy shrimp tacos our first visit and the pressed chicken and mushroom sandwich with Brie and truffle oil tonight was very tasty. To be truly a pressed sandwich the diced chicken would be better served as a half breast. Like a true Italian pressed sandwich the ciabbatta bread would be smashed down to crisp grill marked treat. The Brie and mozzarella along with the mushrooms and truffle oil compliment the sandwich well. The French fries were lack luster, a bit cold and very dry. Overall the menu offers a variety of choices and plates coming out of the kitchen were attractive and abundant. Nice selection of appetizers not found on every other menu.

I recommend this place highly - food seems really good - we just had an app - service is really good and the beer selection is top.

The burgers are great and for a boring Tuesday night to be able to go out and get a $5 top notch burger is just the bomb! The homemade pickles are awesome too, make sure to order extra!

Went there on New Years day after it was advertised for their brunch and bloodys. Waited over 30 minutes for a server, asked for a manager several times, never came. Sent an email to Tap house, they never responded. I highly recommend if you go there, sit at the bar and then maybe you will get served, otherwise... forget it.

Decent selection of draft, cool trendy design, comfy booths but.... They need a new chef. We ordered truffle fries - got something more like garlic Parmesan fries (and not the good kind, the kind that can be eaten only when hot or it will get soggy and dreadful ) sporadically sprinkled with Truffle oil. Kobe burger - oh well, was barely Koby, heck ...it was barely burger (more patty melt). Fish tacos - the most disgusting mix of Italian seasoning and hot sauce and salt. Could not taste fish at all. Beans and rice - just as nasty... Overall go there either drunk to the point you can't taste anything or eat someplace else and go there for beer

Great bar location and spot to meet up for drinks. Came here after it has been open for a month and the service was less than stellar, low and busy. Food was what I expected- bar food- but great choices in drinks and beer

The Tap House Grill in Palatine opened a week ago and expect to have a grand opening in September as I am told. I went last night and it was packed. Glad to see a new place in a new location with little to no advertising doing so well on a Wednesday night. Arrived about 5:30pm and it got more packed as we ate. I had a crispin cider served in a mason jar and my company had a beer that he said was quite good, I will edit later to include the name. I got the Margherita flatbread. It was light and very tastey. Fresh basil on top was very good My company got the Farm burger. This is a new item on the menu. certified Angus beef topped with house made bacon jam, a fried egg, cheddar, and apple wood smoked bacon. This was $12.99 and it came with fries or you could have tater tots.Very nice open concept bar and dining area with a mix of booths around the walls and both high and low lop tables in the middle dining area. I took pictures and will post them soon. Great addition to downtown Palatine restaurants and bars. This is located across the street from Emmet's and on the same side of the train tracks as Emmets. I will for sure visit again. Variety of items on the menu and gluten free options as well. Great beer list and many items on draft. Service was very friendly, they are still getting used to the large menu and figuring out how many people to staff. Our waitress was very nice.

Terribly slow service; the waitress brought one beer at a time. It took three separate attempts to get a clean glass to pour a beer into. The saving grace is the food - it's good and there a plenty of options.

We were super excited about finally getting in with a large party of friends on Saturday night. So our expectations were probably higher than they should have been. First of all, we got a 2 page list of beer names (no descriptions at all - just the name and alcohol content) - one list for 8 people. We asked for a couple more and got one - hey, these are just word documents, nothing fancy.... So the waitress had come back already twice and expected us to make some decision off of just the names, and wasn't really into explaining any of them, just told us the name of one that we might like. OK, so most just put their finger on the page and ordered something - my choice was not available; I eventually switched to wine; just couldn't decided if I'd like what she was talking about. She said she only drinks PBR, and was pretty sure she was just repeating and pushing what she had been told to. Food - burgers were good; prime rib sandwich was small and devoured in about 3 bites - still hungry; salmon dinner was awfully small; tilapia was good, but could have used some seasoning on it - substituted brussel sprouts for the mashed potatoes and was charged (and warned ahead of time, which was nice) another $1 - again, they could have had some seasoning, but was nice to see something other than broccoli on the menu. Atmosphere - great for watching a game, but otherwise, the music was too loud and it was tremendously noisy. Hard to have a conversation. So for suggestions, add some descriptors to the beer list - the waitress said they change daily, but again, this is just a word document, so type something up - you know what you got in. Add some seasoning to the food - there's some really good restaurants you're competing with in the Palatine area. And turn down the music - on a busy night there's plenty of good conversation to be had.

Let's start - I opened a Yelp account for the sole purpose of passing on this information. This past Friday, my extended family and I reserved a table for 15 adults. I was one of the first to arrived. A waiter stopped by and asked for a drink order. I was excited to try the new craze, the Moscow Mule. The waiter then told me, great, but we will need to hold onto your credit card as a deposit for the copper mug it is traditionally served in. We won't scan it, of course, but mugs get stolen. (Yeah, just in case I pocket it in my large wallet I carry.) I questioned the policy since I am a mature adult and there to have dinner with my family and not to dance on the bar. I then told him to forget it, please just bring me a glass of water. Couple of minutes later, over comes manager Brian who, after he listens to my comments, reiterated the policy and that it is at the behest of the owners. I told him that I was sure the owners could give the manager a certain discretion to use common sense. That did not go over well, but I was fine with water. Then we ordered. OK - four different checks but so what, it happens all the time, no problem. Except here. I was served first along with one other person. So we waited to eat until all were served. It took 20 or so minutes for all of the food to come to the table. When I asked the waiter why the delay - he said it was because of the separate checks, they had to ring them up separately. Now I have been to dinner hundreds of times with companion on separate checks and this has never happened! Inexcusable! Now wait, one more thing. I had ordered a chopped salad. I had the menu in my hand and was pointing to the menu item when discussing the option with the waiter. There was another chopped salad option on the opposite page for a dollar more. When the bill arrived I verified the amounts as usual and noticed I was charged for the more expensive item. Considering what occurred during the evening, I had to say something. Called over the waiter, explained, and he said there was only one chopped salad item on menu. I said no, there are two, please bring me a menu. He did, I showed him both and he said, Oh, that's the gluten-free version. I said, I did not even care about that but that was the salad we were discussing when he took my order. He took the check to fix but never returned. We just took away a dollar from the cash and left the payment with family members to give him when he came to collect their bills. Bottom line - even if the above never happened, I would say the food is average. Way too loud. No need to go back. Too many other options out there - better, the same or worse. And any fraud expert will tell you to not let your credit card out of your sight.

Been here a few times and always found it very underwhelming. The food is way too much, not very accommodating in making slight alterations to a dish. I'm a vegetarian so I guess I'm always kind of difficult since blackbean burgers are not my jam. But my boyfriend eats meat and he wasn't thrilled either. So my main question is.... what is this place, even? If I go out for a drink, even with a decent drink selection, the atmosphere of TVs and loud club music blaring is a little beyond my age group of looking for an actual tap house. i would like to talk to my friends while going out not blankly look at music videos The last time we were there we almost left because the wait staff was standing around with 1/4 of the restaurant full and took a solid 10 minutes before even speaking to us. But regardless of all that, is this a club? no, is this a relaxed tap house? no. Is this a sports bar? no. It's trying to be everything more than a teenage identity crisis. Go to Nellies or Emmette's. At least they know who they are!

Not much to say with one star. Service at the bar was horrid. The bar tender took fifteen minutes for her to say hello. Took ten minutes for a warm beer. When I ordered my meal it took 30 minutes for a burger that should have been medium and came out well done. The fries were ICE cold. i took 2 bites and waited another 15 minutes for the bar tender to come back. She asked if eberything was ok. I said It was terrible and she waled away. 20 minutes later another bar tender cam over and asked if I was finished. I said to throw it out and explained. He said he was sorry and bought me a beer. I will never go back again and this was my third time, it was strike three, the other times were just as bad. They gave me a free appitizer card I gave to the homeless guy at the train station out side,

Don't expect service to be great. I've returned to tap house several times because it's so close and the food is fairly original and very tasty. However, I think it's obnoxious for a place that prides itself on its large beer selection to charge a dollar for a sample. I can go to pretty much any other bar and have a small sample of a beer to see if it's what I want to order and Tap House is the only place that charges for it. Pretty consistently I've had the same server who seems very annoyed to be working. She doesn't look at people as they order or ask questions and she's walked away a few times when I'm trying to ask her something. During busy times I get the impression that they don't have enough staff and that contributes to the poor service.

We've been dying to go to the Tap House for dinner and was so disappointed. When we arrived the bar was packed without an opening. Note this bar is huge. As we made our way to the hostess area we were told there's a 30-40 min wait. It wasn't easy getting a drink while we waited since the bar was not designed to have an open area. Unfortunately we had to lean over a couple eating their dinner. My husband ran off to the bathroom and when he returned he said there's about 8 tables in the back open. He asked the hostess if we could be seated and she said there's a long list in front of us. We spotted a couple at the bar leaving to so to their table and just as we grabbed their seats another hostess came by as said a table was ready. Very odd that when we were seated there were still several empty tables in the back. Their TVs were on the fritz showing the Bears game and we had to laugh when the hostess told us that all of Chicago is having the same issue with the game. What were we born in the dark ages? Cause we just came from home and our TV reception was just fine. Try next time to just say your having issues with the satellite reception and it's being looked at - don't lie. We were lucky our server was funny and friendly because so far the hostess group needed to get training on customer service. I had the root beer pot roast sandwich which was delicious. One concern was it appeared to have been microwaved. My husband had the fish and chips that were just OK. This was Friday night. My husband returned there tonight with a friend to give it another chance and it was a repeat of Friday. Empty tables and a 30 min wait. The hostess gave a lame excuse that the kitchen was too busy to seat them - well then hire more staff or train the kitchen staff better. He was dying to try the sandwich I had on Friday and was disappointed. His was microwaved and so hot it burnt his hand and fell apart from a soggy bun. $60 later for a few beers, salty cheese curds, a burger and a pot roast sandwich - his phone call to me was - well this place sucks. Just another place in Palatine that doesn't know how to prepare food or serve customers. At least they have a good beer selection.

New place in town, packed with people but I doubt it will last if they (the manager really) keep treating guests like this: slow service, no clue about their products, arrogant staff and high prices. The surrounding restaurants offer much better service at lower prices.

I have been here 3 or 4 times. The food is ok, service is NOT good. Beer list is good. My biggest complaint is that I have been charged 3 different prices for the same drink, one time it was 2 different prices in the same visit. If some friends wanted to go here I would meet them but will not seek it out on my own.

Nothing special about Tap House in Palatine. Been to the location in Highwood and it has such a better vibe and everything (food, staff, ambiance) is nicer over there. In Palatine, we ordered a BBQ flat bread which was delicious but I was starving and I mean...it's flat bread with cheese and chicken and onions...what's not to love? It should have had more toppings on it overall. Then I had a sangria and a burger. Sangria tasted like it had sweeteners added to it and I'll admit it was a poor order--being at a TAP HOUSE and all but I wasn't thinking clearly and I didn't feel like ordering a beer. Also, isn't that the job of the waiter, too? To recommend the best the restaurant has to offer...? Well, when my boyfriend asked the waitress if they had any specials, our waitress replied, "I don't know." I just laughed quietly to myself. So, the point being, she wasn't going to save me from a bum ordering job. She was more like a robot than a human I'd say. The burgers came out and they looked assembled by drunks. Everything was just tossed on there. I ordered a side salad to go with mine...evidence again that I wasn't thinking clearly because I seriously should have ordered fries or tots or anything but a friggen salad from a place that makes salads look like they came from a kindergarten class. I was extremely underwhelmed. I didn't eat my salad at all--didn't even move it from where the food server man (our waitress never once served our food--not even the drinks--wtf?) placed it because it looked insulting and after 3 sips of my sangria, I abandoned the $10 drink. So, if I were our waitress, I would have noticed these items not being consumed and would have asked if everything was all right. She was the last hope to save the experience but she was a robot and didn't know shit about being a good waitress. So we paid and left. This place is very loud. It's probably fine if you just stick to the bar and eat the deep fried pickles and flat breads and whatnot or if you are just going to bar crawl around Palatine. My experience in Highwood led me to believe this would be a similar scene, but the only similarity is the maroon paint color.

We were looking forward to Tap House Grill opening but now we are left feeling disappointed. We have gone two times, neither time living up to expectations. During our first visit, we were informed that they had 48 craft beers on tap but that we would have to wait for a beer list. After waiting for a beer list (which was just a typed list on a piece of copy paper - they couldn't just copy more??), we were told that they were out of at least 4 of the beers. We then ordered dinner, and I ordered a cheeseburger, well done. Apparently, well-done meant burnt to the point that it was hard, charred and inedible. We decided to give it another try. We went on Saturday to watch some college football, thinking it would be a great place considering the number of TVs. The restaurant was fairly empty so we asked the host if we could sit at a table where we could view a particular game. He told us they didn't have that game on and we asked if we could. He simply said no. Out of the 20+ tvs, only a couple were on college football. On a Saturday in the fall? They could market themselves as a place to watch games, but instead wouldn't put 1 tv on a game that we requested (even when it was apparent that no one else was watching what they had on). Once we were sat, we waited awhile for a server to come to our table. When she did, it was "I take it no one has greeted you yet? I guess I will." Ummmm, ok, sorry for the hassle! This time they were out of the rootbeer on tap. Once we ordered, our server never came back to us after our food was served. So I never could ask anyone for ketchup for my tots. I didn't enjoy my sandwich, but the highlight was that the server took it off the check without me even asking. We were excited to have a new place with craft beers and lots of tvs (for football Saturdays and Sundays) in town, but based on our first 2 experiences, we unfortunately will think twice before we return.

Super disappointing-terrible service(seriously how long does it take to pour a draft beer?)and beyond mediocre food. Cheese curds were room temperature, flatbread pizza had tablespoons of fresh garlic in piles(I apologize to my coworkers), and the burger was on par with Applebee's-won't be back.

We've visited the Palatine location twice since our original review. Acoustics are still among the worst ever and become more conversation-oppressive as the evening progresses based on day of week and time of day. That said, food and service are excellent, tap selection is mostly interesting -- yet doesn't offer sufficient variety/rotation to bring us back more than twice a month. Poutine is not too bad for "south of the border"

My husband and I checked this place out with another couple on a Saturday night. We loved craft beers and their selection did not disappoint. We ordered the brussel sprouts as an app and were pleasantly surprised. There is a decent selection of flat breads - all very tasty. Great location and will definitely return.

After going back to the Tap House two more times I can say that my first impression was wrong. Maybe it was just too crowded and the servers were over worked, but things have greatly improved. The food was delicious both times and the service was top notch. Glad I went back to try again.

Holy cow. Ever wish you were a cow and had multiple stomachs so you can eat everything on the menu? That's how I felt last week when we visited Tap House Grill for a lunch meeting. Now normally lately, I've been doing the My Fitness Pal thing and I'm proud to say I'm down 18 lbs. Not quite as good as a couple of my buddies are doing, but still nothing to shake a stick at. Anyway, I decided that coming to the Tap House was absolute reason enough to not count calories (shut up, you don't know me!). And so, I went on a food-spedition through Tap House Grill's menu, sampling the brussels sprouts appetizer, the beer cheese soup, and at the recommendation of my table mates who are regulars; the BLT. Everything was delicious. Everything was plentiful. Everything had amazing flavors and was just the perfect amount of ingredients. The server was very friendly and kept our drinks filled, and the atmosphere was the perfect compliment for hanging out on a warm summer day. I only wish I wasn't there with work so we could've partaken in some of the amazing drink specials. I live in Downers Grove, but Tap House is worth the drive to Palatine. Check it out!

Big space. The property is owned by the village and The Tap House rents it. They invested money into the space and it looks great--big open room with big bar in the center and loads of TVs playing sports. Food: Was terrific. I had the Farm Burger and it was perfect. My wife had Steak Wedge Salad and the steak portion was sizable. Beer: Lots of beer on tap, as expected. They have a handy QR Code on the beer menu that lets you look up more info on each of the beers. Nice touch. Ambience: big space and big sound. Pretty noisy if you're looking for lots of conversation.

Second time here in about six months or so and--while you hope and pray that the food that wasn't good the first time, will be better the next time--alas, it is not to be. There isn't much to say, except that the food ranges from cheese curds that tasted like they came right out of the freezer to my margherita pizza that was a greasy, flavorless mess. Others in the party had burgers that were overcooked coupled with cold, stale fries. Sure, the beer selection is good (and actually the service is too), but the food is not. It's also pretty loud in this place. Playing dance music at a level that makes it feel like you'll transform into a club space on a Saturday night on a Sunday afternoon is not a good thing. You'll get better food across the street at Emmett's and you'll get better food and a comparable beer selection a couple of blocks west at Durty Nellie's. Sorry, Tap House Grill, we'll tap out.

Better than normal bar and grill. While the food itself really won't win any awards, the spacious interior, easy parking, friendly service, good prices, and good draft beer selection help bump up the restaurant up a few stars. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is the massive dining room (with an impressive sized private room in the back) that is well lit with comfortable seating and a slightly upscale decor. The TVs are a bit small and volume a little low for the normal bar, but this does help contribute to a more friendly family atmosphere. There are tons of specials for each day of the week (and special events on top of that), which give many options of both food and beverages that you can consume without spending a ton of money. This can be anything from a $3.75 beer of the month to $2.50 Miller lite to $5.50 wings and fries to $5 burger. Best thing I noticed about these specials is that they really apply to anything you see on the menu -- which takes away a lot of complexity you see in promotions. The food selection is similar to what you'll find in other nicer bars in the area with a slightly upscale feel and use of better ingredients. In particular I really enjoyed the beer-braised beef, crispy beer-battered chicken melt (with Merkt's cheese), and beer-battered icelandic cod. With the great selection at great prices, I'll definitely be back here again soon. Only real criticism I have is that I wish they did a karaoke night and a trivia night :)

We only go on Friday/Saturday nights for for $5 appetizers after 9 PM and on Tuesday's for $5 burgers. We haven't gone on Mondays for $5.50 wings but I'm sure they are decent considering how much we like the other food. These are your best values. The food is decent at best but can be perceived as a bit pricey during normal times. But considering the other bars in the area, this is overall a great place to go. Staff and Bar Tenders are friendly and there's always a deal on beers of the month/week/day.

This bar is a great for a casual meal and drinks! The bar food is good and the flatbreads are pretty good as well. They have a great variety of beers, and pretty good daily drink specials. I like this place and it's an aesthetically pleasing restaurant as well!

After filling our bellies with ice cream, coffee, and doughnuts we realized we should get some actual food to eat (probably should've went to Christie's Dairy Delight after dining here, but it's Sunday....who cares)?! I've been wanting to check out this place before it was built in Palatine at their Highwood location. Perfect timing to be in downtown Palatine and Taphouse Grill being a block away from where we were. When we entered we were shocked to see it quite busy for a mid-Sunday afternoon. Loved the TV's at the bar and also right in front of the booth we sat in. I can totally envision us coming back here for Bears games! They have quite an extensive menu including Deep Fried Bacon?! YUM!! I didn't order that today, but maybe another time as well as the burger challenge which my husband is totally up for next time he is really hungry and dining here. This being our first time dining here led us to ordering a couple burgers and chicken fingers. My husband ordered the Farmhouse Burger with Kobe Beef instead of Angus (up charge of 2.50 for this) and a side of tater tots. His burger tasted awesome!! I sampled his tater tots which tasted great as well. My neighbor was very satisfied with his standard burger and fries. I ordered their Sam Adams Battered Chicken Fingers. The chicken fingers I found to be mediocre and dare I say it was too over fried? It was good along with their sweet mustard, but next time I might try something else. My husband was the only one to order any booze and had Dragon's Milk on draft which he throughly enjoyed. They had a very extensive beer list that is constantly changing. We're looking forward to coming back here again for food, drinks, and beers.

Came in on a Sunday afternoon, the space is spacious and clean. A "seat yourself" sign prompted us to a high top in the corner where it seemed like it took 10 minutes before we were noticed, and that too because I put my hand up like I knew the answer in school. Our waitress made up for the wait with her awesome personality, she did check on us just enough and I was happy with her. I should have ordered something other than the adobe chicken wrap. I think it was the combination of the veggies with the chicken, and the sauce was quite oily. That being said, I have tried food at another Tap House and remember it being quite awesome. I wouldn't rule out this place thanks to the extensive menu! The portions are huge, the beer list is fantastic and categorized for those wanting to try new brews.

I love this place! The food was amazing and decently priced. $5.50 for boneless wings and fries and kids eat free a on Sunday.... PERFECT! Try the exotic sauce. It is fantastic. My only complaint is that they are selling Two brothers sour #2. It is the most rancid beer in the entire world.

"I thought you were ready?" -Lovely Server Service: 0/5 Me to server: "Between the ribs and..." Server: "I thought you were ready?" * However, Food & drinks came out fast. Food: Sucked/5. * A table of 6 of us, not one liked our food. Environment: 3.5/5 * Good. Sports bar but they need more TV's. Overall: 1/5 * Buffalo Wild Wings is close. * I wouldn't and won't be back. Server never asked how our food was, nor did she care. Came off very rude to our whole table. No tip.

The one downside about Yelp is that I'm less likely to try a place if it doesn't have 4+ starred reviews. My friend suggested walking to Tap House Grill after work to grab drinks and bite, I'm very happy I did! Because I didnt look at Yelp I had no biased views on the place. This place rocks!!!!! Ample selection of booze--especially beers and whiskeys. It has a rustic feel with gorgeous brick walls and wooden rafters. In the center of the restaurant there is a large circular bar with lots of TVs. There are also large glass doors along the storefront that open up to allow patrons to have a patio feel while they're eating. Lots of seating options at this Tap House! Also, the burgers here are amazing!! I inhaled mine as I sipped on some whiskey and cokes. The burger was juicy, flavorful and decadent. Prices here are also great. I had 2 Jack and cokes, my friend had a craft beer, and I had my burger with tots for around 30 bucks. Not to bad!!! I will definitely return.

Good selection of beers on tap. More of a restaurant than a bar. Would not recommend going here after hours. A little boring but would definitely recommend going here for lunch or dinner. The special on Mondays is $5.50 for 10 wings with fries. Great deal. Wings a big and meaty.

People are friendly but the real reason to attend is the flat bread pizza. It's excellent!

Came here when I was in town visiting family. While they is a wide variety of food and beverage, I would have given a better review if the service was better. Unfortunately.

I've been to the Tap House before but just for some beers and appetizers. I never realized their menu was so unique and outrageous. I had the eggs plosion sandwich it has Mertks cheddar cheese ,2 eggs, some awesome bacon and I had it with a side of tater tots. This sandwich was easily big enough for two people. It would be great for breakfast but you could eat it any day of the time from a noontime sandwich to tide you over for two people or that late night craving after you've had a few beers. If you get this sandwich it is truly a foot long and the bread is very crispy the eggs are perfectly done and it just goes down really good with any beer.

Pros: Been here 3x and they still have a fun food selection, great drink selection, super friendly service, open/social inside area, and laid-back industrial vibe. Why doesn't this place have 4+ stars? Cons: Could offer some more light/healthy items to offset the abundance of yummy cheese and bacon and fried items. And not sure if it is, but it feels like a chain.

We go to the Tap House about once a week to taste ( drink) the new beers. They have about 50 different beers on tap and they change as they run out of the different beers. The food is upscale pub food with many different appetizers which we are working our way through them. The regular fare is great. We have never had a bad meal here. The patio is now open and you can sit out near the street and wave to your friends passing by. It is very large and a great place to hold meetings in their two rooms in the back or in their large side tables. The service is really good. This week the server kept coming back to see if we needed anything. Also, one of the owners stopped by to see if everything was OK. You can't go wrong eating and drinking here with friends and family.

Absolutely love this place!! Great food and great staff! Bartenders are always extremely friendly and fast. Adam may be the friendliest server ever. He is very personable and will do whatever he can to make your experience enjoyable. I highly recommend tap house if you are looking for a casual place with great food!

I've been here now 6-7 times. The food and beer choices are delicious and great! I've yet to have a bad experience and will continue to keep going. Exotic wings are the bomb Get the totchos or cheese curds for an appetizer. You won't be disappointed with anything you get!

Space is deceiving large, typical sports bar appeal with TVs in every viewable corner. I would even go to say it's pleasantly airy and just enough light to not cause glare. Food is ok. Beer selection is very respectable. Prices a bit higher, but on par. Service can use some training. The initial stages of a host got us seated quickly with menus, but nobody came around to take orders. There's at least 7 servers all hanging by the bar and a few that would walk past us. None of them came over. I prefer to refrain giving the eye or the wave, but if we were to catch our train on time and get some beer and food in our tummies, I guess we do what we need to do. Maybe they need to resort to the Asian method and put in buzzers on the table.

We came to Taphouse Grill with 6 people and a dog. There was a 45 minute wait for the patio but the manager Emily showed extreme concern for our needs by providing free chips, drinks , and a bowl of ice water for our pup while we waited and was always checking for available tables to seat us. Adam, our waiter was very friendly and made our experience even more memorable. Overall, we had amazing service, great food, (Try the Homemade Kit-Kat!), and now have a new go-to dog and kid-friendly restaurant!

Went in with my wife (who just recently turned 21) looking for a new bar to try out. Was seated immediately and our waitress Rachel (who was totally awesome and helpful!) promptly took our order. Very knowledgeable when it came to the beers (and there are a LOT of beers to choose from), service was great. Food was good but to be honest we only got the pretzel bread with cheese dips, but hey they were good. Also this place let's you sample whatever beer you want for a dollar each, how cool is that? We asked Rachel to just keep bringing us more samples, it was a fun way to try a variety of different beers! We'll be back!

This is what I have come to accept with brand new places... service is always going to be shaky. The last three places we have tried brand new there was issue with service. Sunday afternoon -- bears/packers game-- its going to be busy! Our waitress did have some trouble remembering things and that can get frustrating, believe me, I don't like having to remind somebody that all I need is a diet coke. They did seem understaffed though. Food was good, I enjoyed my sliders and my $5 bloody was REALLY good. Everybody else seemed super happy with their food as well.

I really want to give this place a good review but I just can't. After numerous chances, this bar is such a bad experience each time. The only 3 times we've (one other person & I) been here its been a wait for an acknowledgement let alone a beer. Tonight there are 8 patrons, all serviced & 6 employees. After 4:56 (yup I timed it) I walked over to the group & asked for a beer. Of course the waitress gave me a mean look... With all the bars in Palatine, don't waste your time with this subpar establishment. It looks like it should be a great time, but the atmosphere blows! PS: Go ahead and read the blocked reviews...they are also all 1 star & interestingly not counted!

All-in-all, I'll give this place a four. My main reasons for this are the fact that the appetizers (fried pickles and pretzels in my case) were AMAZING. I chose the Chicken Caesar Press and it was pretty good. The downside was that my bacon was extremely hard. But that's a minor thing that could be fixed. I took it out of my sandwich and ate it alone and I have no negative reviews about how it tasted. Unfortunately the appetizers are the only thing that really sets this place apart from any other restaurants. Nevertheless, they are indeed something I'd come back for. My only other negative is the service. Personally, I'm someone who's constantly happy and the servers here seem like they are just flat out tired. My constructive criticism for them is hey..be a little more happy about doing your job. Whether you love it or not.

Rachael was amazing! As an out of towner, I've never felt more welcome. Seriously felt as if we were her only table, which wasn't anywhere close to true with the Blackhawks on. Also, great selection of beer and Rachael was kind enough to let us sample the ones we weren't familiar with. Overall great place!

Above your average Bar. Nice outside seating area. The inside area is very large and well kept. Restrooms were clean. We tried 5 appetizers and each tasted great. Large selection of beers and served nice and cold!

Fun place, a good amount of t.v.'s although not enough viewing to be a sports bar. This place gets packed on a Saturday night, the wait time was 45min-60min for a table for 5. The calamari, roasted brussel sprouts and jambalaya appetizers were great. The tater tot appetizer was a little odd - a huge basket the size of a thanksgiving side dish and it was prepared like a salad (LOL!). Nice clean environment and friendly staff.

Met some friends for dinner and drinks. This place just recently opened, and I wanted to see their beer selection. I was excited for a new craft beer place so close to my house. The place was incredibly busy with the private rooms filled with fantasy football drafts. The beer list was extensive, but I would generally like more detail of the selections. We just split some appetizers for food, and everything we had was great. We tried the pretzels (mustard was better than the cheese), the Exotic wings (sweet slightly spicy sauce), Tot-chos (chili cheese nachos on tator tots), and truffle fries. My wife had a chicken sandwich. The sandwich she specifically ordered without cheese came with cheese on it. Not a big deal. They remade the sandwich and brought it out. The kitchen must have been backed up because it took a long time for the food to come out. We each had a few beers, but you had to order in advance because it took a while for our waitress to bring the next beer. Overall, there is a lot of potential for this place as the food and beer is good. Prices are a bit high, but what you would expect for craft beers. If they can get the service smoothed out, I will definitely be frequenting this place.

We ate here this past weekend and are whole party was very disappointed. I have never reviewed a restaurant before now but felt the need to in this case. Everything on the menu looked fantastic but that was not the case. The food was less than mediocre. The boneless wings were dry and overcooked. Fries were soggy and nasty. Burgers were blah nothing special. Paid way to much for out food. I would NOT come back. Wish I would have read these reviews before I choose to come here.

We have not been to Tap House in a while as the food seemed average from past experiences. I will say that this time I felt the quality of food had improved. We had burgers at our table and everybody seemed happy with them. The key here was the food came out hot, the fries were even still hot, in the past the food has always come out cold. I hope this will remain consistent. Still a great beer selection, and good appetizer list. They have updated their menu since we were last there, and I was really disappointed to see they no longer offer 20 wings, you can only order portions of 10, so this increases the cost of 20 wings from like $16 to $22. They have probably some of the best wings we have had, but this is pretty steep for just chicken wings so it feels like they will lose some business out of this pricing change.

I went here for a friend's birthday and thought it was pretty cool. The beer list good - lots of stuff on tap and even more on the menu. The beer cheese soup is excellent and their salads are crisp and fresh. I look forward to going back and exploring more of the dinner menu. It's more of a restaurant than a "bar" (kids were still there after 10pm), so if you're looking to party hardy I'd head to lamplighter or Nellie's.

Honestly the best sports bar in downtown palatine the food is bomb and so are their drink specials. I come here at least twice a week because it's that good. The service is awesome!! A+ on Mondays they have 10 bone in wings and fries for $5 and Sunday's it's the same deal but boneless. Idk how anyone can ever complain about this. You must stop by if you are around

Some of the WORST service I have ever had in my life. The food is HORRIBLE! I can't understand how people think the food here is so great?!? It's bland, boring, and over priced. They charge your for EVERYTHING! I'm shocked they don't charge for tap water. Seriously, stay away from this place. It looks great from the outside and the idea of Tap House seems good, but this place does NOT DELIVER!

Came here for the first time on Christmas Eve 2014 as they were one of the only restaurants open. We were seated immediately as they have quite a large dining room and there were not many patrons, but it began to fill up quickly soon after. They have quite an extensive menu with many delicious looking items which made choosing our selection a bit difficult. I chose to turn to our waitress's suggestion between two entree's and was completely satisfied with her recommendation. The food came quickly and was delicious and our waitress stopped by our table often asking how our meal was and if we needed anything else. For those of you who are beer drinkers, they have a 2 page beer on draft menu. Pricing was very affordable. Will go back and highly recommend!

Manager did great job recovering from hostess gaffe. He knew something was wrong and came over and addressed it.. Food is never a problem always super awesome but management great too. Hostess could use some training, but I have a feeling he will address behind the scenes.

Newly opened, the Tap Room is cavernous and noisy. Great selection of foreign and domestic craft beers...you'll find something you like. Menu emphasizes huge portions and is of the greasy, cheesy, deep fried variety mostly.

The food here is worth your time but the service here is marginal at best. We had the tater tot and the Brussel sprout appetizers, both delicious! Our entrees were great as well. The beer selection and white sangria are again worth a stop. Our server started out ok but then must of gotten distracted or too busy attending to others because we rarely saw her. Kitchen staff brought out the food and bus boys picked up empty glasses. Our water glasses went empty, we weren't asked how the food was or if we needed anything until we were done eating. Unfortunately for her the tip reflected this. I really like the ambience, this could be a great sports bar but the staff needs more training on how to take care of customers.

It's nice to see another craft beer bar in town. I've been a regular of partying around in Palatine for a while so this was a welcomed change. Great beer list and at such a decent price, too. The first time we went, the service was pretty good and the server we had was really nice and gave us helpful suggestions. The second time we went, the service was not great. She acted like she just could not be bothered with us and she didn't write our order down, and naturally, she had to come back and ask again. Okay, I understand that it looks really impressive when you don't write shit down, but for 10 people? Come one, we aren't judging you, please just write down the drink order so you don't have to come back and ask us again. She continued to still be inattentive and made a fuss about splitting our check. However, we ordered the buffalo cheese curds, calamari and bacon and beer brussels sprouts. WOW. The buffalo cheese curds were AMAZING. No seriously, they were outstanding. Thank god the food was good because we were over the service. I kind of wanted to give this place 3 stars for the service alone, but honestly, the food and beer is great so it's worth 4 stars. Check it out. I think they also have specials every day as well. And I love me a good special.

This place is nothing revolutionary yet everything we want in a local bar/restaurant. They have tons of seating, lots of tvs, a HUGE revolving beer selection and a large menu with a little bit of everything. Their wings are great, as well as the beer cheese soup. It's our second time back and I have a feeling this will be a routine fave!

Service is bad!! No one comes and checks on you or ask how everything was. Been here 3 times and the only reason why I come back is for the food and beer. I'm sorry ownership, but if you dont train your staff properly, your consumers will find somewhere else with good food and drinks. Hope you figure it out .. 3 stars for food and drinks.

I was pretty excited about this place. The concept seemed good and I liked the idea of having a good place where one could get a wide selection of craft beer. The decor was nice, but I came away feeling a little disappointed. My bf and I were given 1 beer list which was on 2 pieces of bedraggled plain white paper and it was hard to try to share it at a table for two that is 3 feet across. It simply had a list of beers without any description of what they were. There were only 2 ciders on the entire list. Lame. We looked around for our server, who was nowhere to be found. The prices on the food were more expensive than typical pub food and the portions were small. The only bright side was the Monday special which was 10 wings and fries for $5, which the bf got. However, I was again disappointed because there was no spice whatsoever to the "buffalo" wings, as well as hardly any sauce. I got a burger which was unevenly cooked and underwhelming-- and $12. This all took about 25 minutes to arrive. I probably won't be back, which is a shame, because I live within walking distance and would be a loyal patron. I love the concept, but the actual place doesn't meet expectations.

I live down the street, come here frequently, and typically like this place. Today came in for the Monday wing special and was very disappointed. The French fries were stale like they had been out for hours. The wings were crispy but barely had any sauce on them. Lastly, no one even asked how our food was. I get it's a special but the food was less quality then the "deal" price. Hope this improves in the future.

I was excited to finally see a new restaurant in the old Mia Cucina location since the village of Palatine forced Mia to close a few years ago in their grand illusion of creating additional condo complexes failed. But that's beside the point...Given the quality and atmosphere that Mia used to have, Tap House has big shoes to fill. My first question was - "What is this place's angle or attraction?" It was not apparent. The menu was typical sandwiches, burgers, and salads. Nothing to sophisticated or all that great looking. I had to ask our waitress. I guess it's that they have a lot of craft beers on tap. OK. Great. It's not evident that this is a "beer" place. Now the food. I decided to go with the steak and cheddar sandwich instead of the Kobe Burger. I also ordered some beer-cheese soup. The soup was OK but not stellar. The sandwich came on a nice baguette but had very little meat. For in excess of $10.00 this was disappointing. As I started to eat the sandwich I was struck by what I felt was a lack of flavor. About 1/2 way through I realized, THERE WAS NO CHEESE!!! Two other people at my table ordered the same thing and also felt there was no cheese. The sandwich was advertised as having piles of rib eye steak, Merkt's cheddar cheese spread and mayo. I requested no mayo on my sandwich. Now for those who are not from the Midwest, Merkt's is a thick and tasty cheese spread. Their cheddar has a distinct and strong flavor. NONE of that was on this sandwich. There was some sort of thin yellow coating on the bread that looked and tasted like an herb butter. We complained to our waitress who didn't think the sandwiches looked right. She went and told the manager and came back to tell us the manager would stop and talk to us. We had to ask out waitress THREE times if the manager was going to come out. When the manager finally came out, she was dismissive of our complaints and said that what we saw on the bread that was yellow was simply a mix of mayo and the cheese spread. She said that's the way it was served. We protested that it had hardly any flavor and that it was not what we had ordered and we were not happy. Her response was, "Next time you come back, ask for more cheese." That was it. No offer of a discount, no coupon, free drinks or anything. Nothing was done to incentivize me to come back again. For less money, I could have gone two blocks over to Subway and purchased a steak and cheese sub with more flavor. If I'm going to go somewhere nice for lunch in Palatine, Emmett's or Artistic Cuisine are much better choices and in the same price range. Tap House is a disappointment. Maybe I'll give them one more try - but that's it.

Been to the Tap House in Des Plaines. That place is great. This place not so great... waited for over 30 mins for a BLT Sandwich. Not one person who worked there came to us and said your food is coming up soon, so we walked out of there. I don't think we will be returning to this location... All the bar staff had a sour puss on their faces like they didn't wanna work tonight... I didn't see one bartender smile once.. This is the service business if your not happy serving people get another job... So sad I wanted to like this location.

Long beer list but pretty expensive. At least 6 bucks for a good draft means I won't be coming back here to drink, especially with a brewpub and Nellies across the street. The cheese curd appetizer came with a queso dip which was good but it seemed weird dipping cheese into cheese. The burger was pretty good. Fries only okay. Acceptable portions but not impressive. Expensive for what you get. I doubt we will be returning given the prices.

I am not sure why this Tap House is getting bad reviews. First of all this location is only 2 months old. Second, I have been to multiple Tap Houses (as it is a chain) and the Palatine location is the best by far. The food is good. Try the Exotic boneless wings! They are awesome. Their sandwiches and pretzels are very good as well. The beer selection is incredible. Not sure what to order? Talk to Barry (Bar manager) or Brian (Cicerone) and they will steer you in the right direction. They know their beer. Once the kinks get worked out, this place will garner 5 stars. It is just a matter of more time and a little more service training. Get there soon!

I don't understand all the bad reviews about prices and service. We were here bunch of times now and the service is ok. Sitting at a table or at the bar, either way is fine. The food is delicious, considering it's a chain! The beer selection is impressive. Most of them cost around $5 which is a regular price in my eyes. The place itself is nicely done. High ceiling, cool lighting. We'll be back :)

The newest sports bar/pub/restaurant/beer joint in Palatine just opened over the weekend. In the former Mia Cucina building, the Tap House Grill has completed a nice renovation. We stopped in after a visit to the Palatine Block Party on Saturday night. The place was about half to two-thirds full. The bar has been completely revamped and takes up a noticeably large section of the middle of the restaurant. There are LCD screens hanging around with various sporting events being show. The beer selection is solid, with some interesting options from local brewers. It was later, so we both tried their "trio" plate. One was a slider sized trio of kobe beef burgers and the other sported three "prime rib" sliders. Both came with a side of fries. The Kobe burgers had been ordered medium well and came out medium rare. On the other hand, the "prime rib" was more like italian beef, thinly sliced and not at all rare, compared to what I had expected. The "prime rib" came with a side of horseradish sauce and au jus. The horseradish sauce was good if not overly spicy. On the other hand, the au jus was almost too salty to eat. The last issue was that the fries were paltry and sort of bottom of the barrel. I'll chalk most of this up to first night growing pains. We will be back to give it another go. Not the best at this point, but I have high hopes based on the other items I eyed on the menu.

We first went to Tap House Grill a month or so ago when we first moved into our new house in Palatine. The wings - some of the best I've ever had. The service, however, was horrendous. Our server could care less that we were there, offered no recommendations, never stopped back by the table.. And it wasn't even busy. The girl only had two tables. I was so disappointed. I wanted to love this place. I know it's new - but new has nothing to do with not caring about a table. Awful. And they even have Wild Onion beer on tap! We went back several times within the next couple weeks and found the same thing. A+ food, F- service. So one night I had some friends over for a mini-bachelorette party and we all wanted wings. I decided to try take out from THG. Bad idea!! Haha, even worse than going in and getting an awful waitress. The hostess looked very put-upon that we were getting take-out. She pointed to the busy bar and said go talk to... Barry? Or someone? I looked confused and told her I had no idea who that was. She rolled her eyes and said I'll just take you.. and walked us through the busy crowd over to the server station behind the bar and pointed at a bartender/manager?? So we stood against the half-wall (the only space available), trying to make eye contact with him. It was busy, so totally understood he was really busy making drinks and helping people. Finally came over and just said it wasn't ready and left. Then later came over and just handed us a bill and asked us if that was our order.. So we paid and waited. A server came over and snapped at us to move, saying we couldn't stand there - it was the server area. So, we kept being bumped into for 15+ minutes waiting for our food while we tried to find an area to stand in, while still being in sight of the bartender. Finally the food came out and we bolted out of there. Moral of the story: this place doesn't do take-out. Don't bother. Even for the food, it's not worth it. The hostesses should be in charge of this, have the bill ready, and guests should be able to wait in the front area - where there is room! - to wait for their food. I've never felt so uncomfortable trying to get take out somewhere.. On to the reason for me giving this place some high stars! Last Thursday, I took my mom in to THG for lunch. Our waitress was phenomenal! The food was a little cold, but our waitress was so pleasant. I didn't get her name, though, because my mom paid in cash and I didn't get a copy of the bill. Super cute girl, though, with an undercut hairstyle. Then last night my husband and I tried it again and we had the most amazing waitress ever! Her name was Rachael. I love the food and atmosphere here - and these two servers finally made it a great experience! If you get a great server you will not be disappointed with this place. Rachael was amazing! Kept coming by, made recommendations.. made sure we had enough ranch. Super pleasant.. cleared plates off our table. Couldn't have asked for a better dinner. But still don't do take-out here.

Let's just say for such a great place was AMAZING FOOD the service was HORRIBLE. We sat at the bar. It only being my husband and I with only about 10 other people sitting at the bar with us. It took us about 10 minutes to even get our first round of drinks. Our bartender (and come go find out MANAGER), Barry dropped our drinks and walked away. We had to ask a server for menus. Then after getting our menus, had to tell Barry about three different times that we were ready to order. After he took our order, he finally decided to put it in the computer about 15 minutes after we had given it to him We were sitting at the corner right next to where the servers picked up their drinks. Numerous times we heard Barry speak to the servers as if they were his servants. Demanding they bring his customers food orders out from the kitchen instead of him walking back to get them himself. Demanding if servers were waiting on their drink orders, they bring their coworkers drinks to the tables instead of, AND I QUOTE "Standing around with your thumb up your ass!" This MANAGER not only talked to the other employees like that numerous times, but he said it loud enough for us to hear and I'm sure other customers did too. He did not just speak this way to one employee, it was at least three just in the short time we were there. Instead of us staying for more drinks like we had planned, we changed our mind after hearing everything he had said and choose to leave. He seemed like he did NOT want to be at his job that night, never once did we see him smile EVER and being a manager of a high volume bar and grill myself, I would NEVER speak to my employees that way. Much less loud enough for other customers to hear. We love the food here. It is AMAZING, but that man hates his life and hates what he does for a living. Maybe he should consider taking up a position where you don't have to interact with the human race since he likes to swear and talk to people in that manor... Just saying!

Nice to see another great eatery in Palatine since many left. Tap House's tilapia fish tacos are my favorite and go great with any one of their beers. service is always pretty fast and the wait staff seems very attentive.

I always hesitate to try new restaurants in the first week or two that they're open because service is usually shaky, the cooks are still figuring things out, and the overall timing just isn't down yet. But following the Jets' latest horrific loss, I went over to the 9th edition of the Tap House Grill. I liked getting a $3.50 Sam Adams Octoberfest pint; just an excellent value. I started with the chicken fingers. The six fingers came out exactly how they should. The meat was juicy and the crispy that didn't overwhelm the chicken. The sauces, the honey mustard and the Sam Adams BBQ sauce, complemented the chicken very well. The BBQ sauce had a little smokiness that I really enjoyed. We also got a side of Brussels sprouts. The portion was quite large, but they could have used a little more seasoning. I also got the prime rib pretzel dip sandwich. I was hoping it would be a little larger for $12.50. The prime rib was moist and the au jus was really flavorful and a good beef flavor. The horseradish sauce added just the right amount of kick. So I enjoyed the food, but I would encourage the cooks to use a little more S & P! We got to sit in a booth, which was comfortable and we had a huge flatscreen TV right in front of us, which definitely helps establish the sports atmosphere. Service was attentive and they kept our water glasses full. Tap House is a good place to hang with friends, throw back a cold one, and enjoy some good food.

I want to really love this place, as I live in the neighborhood. I am glad to see any new business in the downtown area, and was so excited to see a restaurant incorporate "window walls" that can be opened during the summer. I think a lot of the bad reviews on here are simply growing pains for this business. The place is going to be busy practically everyday, as it is new. So I wish some people would cut it some slack. We went there on a Saturday evening, right in the heart of the dinner rush. The hostess was very nice, and told us it could be 45 minutes, but if we hung out we might be seated sooner. We were in no rush, so we grabbed a beverage at the bar and waited. It's very typical to wait for a seat at any restaurant on a Saturday night. We ended up scoring a few seats, which made the 45 minute wait much better. I will say this, it is super loud in this place. There's literally no separation between the bar and restaurant. It's all bar. We could barely hear each other and we could barely hear our waiter. I did hear a few other guests mention the same thing about the crowd noise. I am not sure I would want to go watch a game there, because it is so loud. The TV's are pretty small for a bar atmosphere. Throw up a big screen here or there, if you want to draw Sunday crowds. The food was good. We had wings and a Kobe burger. We both liked our food, but did notice our waiter was not very tentative. I am chalking that up to the place being so busy, loud and just plain new. However I see a lot of complaints about the staff, so they better take note and address it before it hurts the business. I really think they will get this place to where it needs to be, but right now it appears to be a case of growing pains. I will go back when it's been open longer.

Love this place! It is a great spot for a date night or place to watch a sporting event. The service has always been great for me and I will keep coming back for the enviroment and food!

If you are like me and love trying new beers this is the place to be! It has 50 different taps and are mostly craft beers! It is a great place to bring a group of friends and has a great atmosphere! Music could be turned down though. That's my only complaint.

Things have certainly improved here on both the service and food side. The bartending staff is efficient and friendly. Very large beer selections and a fun environment. Love that they added outside seating this year.

Great beer selection. Some really good, inventive food. But this place is super noisy, bad acoustics. Had a couple business outings here and too loud to talk normally even when the place isn't that full. Otherwise....really good

The building is cool. Great beer selection and good food. HOWEVER, the service was TERRIBLE! Eight of us decided to check it out for a Hawks game; we had herd good things and wanted to try something new. The entire bar was full, but it wasn't obnoxiously packed to the point where servers were overwhelmed. Our server continuously walked past us over and over while we tried getting her attention to order drinks and food. Three out of four times we asked for drinks we had to remind her fifteen minutes later and she'd say "oh yeah, I forgot". Multiple times throughout the game we would leave the table to have a cigarette outside and everything was fine. Except one time we had food and drinks on the table and went outside; came back in and the table was cleared. We mentioned it to our server and she said to is " well I can replace the drinks that were taken, but I'm going to need a credit card to hold your bill." I have no problem giving you a card, but when I asked why now after all this time her response was "yeah I just do, I think you guys are going to walk out on your bill."... EXCUSE ME! I then asked multiple employees to speak with a manager, but surprisingly no one could find one. And to top it all off; we were charged for the drinks that we were told would be replaced because they dumped our half finished drinks! I don't appreciate being told I'm going to skip out on a bill. That's crap. There are plenty of other places in palatine I can spend my money. The tap house will never be one of them!

Awful. Horrible food and the manager Karen should be fired! She is unprofessional, rude and has no business being in the restaurant field! Came there for the new years eve party for our kids and it was the worst experience. Nothing was organized, thry tried to not allow the kids to do the ball drop and the food coming out of the kitchen was beyond slow. Thank god for the general manager barry who came out and took care of us and every other table and let the balloon drop happen for the kids! Honestly might go back for a drink only with my. Husband but other then that stay away from this place!

Not impressed , felt like I was inconveniencing the waitress by being there. Maybe I was. After reading all the reviews here about service and staff. Time to get new manager as it all points to management.

A little noisy but worth it. Tap house has an extensive beer list for my fellow craft connoisseurs. Love the calamari, wings are ok. Can't wait to come back for the grilled cheese.

They opened in July and appear to be having a few growing pains, but well worth 4 stars. Tonight was our second visit. First was a Monday at lunch - pretty slow but excellent service and food. Ordered the Gorgonzola fries both visits. Tonight, the sauce was very light. Sent them back after they returned with more Gorgonzola sauce for cold fries. Ordered pickle chips instead - very good. We both ordered burgers which were excellent. Bartender/manager noticed we had no sides with burgers. He already knew that we sent back the fries. Without any prompting, he credited the fries and gave us a free app card for a future visit. We'll come back again.

We went here to celebrate a friend's birthday last night. I liked the space. I appreciated the high ceilings and the cleanliness of the establishment. It is a very lively sports bar with tons of seating. Plenty of flat screen TVs as well. Our waitress was genuinely friendly and handled our large party with relative ease. People at my table seemed to enjoy their entrees (the steak and ale wedge salad in particular looked delicious) but sadly, I was a bit underwhelmed with my Tap House Brew Burger and fries. Not sure if it was just a fluke but everything I ate was very average. I loved the extensive beer menu though and my blue moon hit the spot. I am definitely willing to give this place another chance because we all definitely had a great time here partying it up. The salad entrees looked quite satisfying and I did have a taste of the mac & cheese and I feel like I missed out. :)

Love the food here (especially the Kobe burger and loaded tater tot nachos "totchos"), but service is still iffy. Its very loud, which is fine, not their fault.), but definitely not the ideal place for conversation. Our drinks were empty before the food ever came and even then our server Kriata dropped the food and walked off. They sat empty the rest of the night. I used to be a server so I get how hard it can get on a busy Friday night but come on, drinks are basic. I've had much better luck at the Des Plaines location.

I didn't check the reviews on this place prior to going for lunch. It looks like the service has been a big issue in the past, but I did not experience this at all. Our server was attentive and friendly. The food is priced similarly to the other bars/pubs in the area, which is generally more than I want to spend, but not more than I expected. My wife and I split two dishes. The artichoke and grilled red pepper flatbread was very good while the pulled pork sandwhich could have used a little more flavor. They had an excellent beer selection. The main draw for me in the future is that they have good food and drink specials almost every day. In all, the atmosphere was just what I expected out of a pub (but a little more brightly lit, in a good way), the food cost a little more than I wanted but was in the correct range, and the taste was good.

This restaurant just recently opened. We went for lunch and were seated immediately. Our server, Alli, followed shortly. She was pleasant and returned with my husband's beer in a normal amount of time. The glass wasn't frosted so it was warm. The burger was very good but I didn't like my BBQ pork. It said it was Sam Adams BBQ but had a vinegar taste. My side salad with Caesar dressing was excellent. Total bill without tip was $30.23. Minus 2 beers at $3.50 each you're looking at $10/per. Many items looked interesting but we'll wait a bit to try again. The inside is totally open with mostly high top tables. Ceiling goes to the rafters. Interesting look. Doesn't come off as a sport bar but If you are looking for intimate this definitely isn't the place to go.

My first review was that of bad service. I did return to give them a second chance. I think they have worked out the kinks and have definitely improved upon it. Their food is great, and the service is too.

Waited and waited for ever for a call saying our table was ready while there were at least 3 tables open the whole entire time. We decided to eat at the bar because we were in passing and just wanted a quick lunch. I love the location in Des Plaines. We are kinda regulars at that tap house. The bartender gave me the feeling he was pissed because we sat at the bar to get food. He came over and gave us a beer menu and when we ordered non alcohol drinks, he gave us a disappointed look and never asked us if we wanted a food menu. (we were traveling via motorcycle and just wanted lunch ....not booze ) We ordered 2 sandwiches after asking for a menu. A blt and a beef sandwich. I'd love to review the food but it never came. The bartender never came back ....we didn't even get a check for our drinks so we laid out money for the beverages and left. It was over 45 minutes from the time our order was placed till we bailed. The bartenders ...one of 7 or 8 never asked us if we needed anything. The bar was getting busy and I get it....but don't throw in an order and forget about it. The bartender that gave us the pop walked passed us hundreds of times and we were sitting at the cash register area so he saw us. I saw a few others walk out because the lack of service. All the people behind the bar were dressed in street clothes so there was no difference between the management and staff. Very sloppy looking compared to the other servers working the floor that were uniformed. I saw servers going to get their drinks for their tables very annoyed and chit chatting about how slow the bar service is. My favorite was when the one bartender made a darker red martini and after seeing it on the bar waiting to get picked up by another server he must have noticed it didn't have enough in the glass so he looked around to see if anyone was watching and he took the beverage nozzle abd put water in it ! It definitely wasn't part of the drink ...lol Well stick to Nellies or Emmetts while in palatine. As I see from other reviewers this is pretty typical.

Love it here, except on game days when the Bears aren't playing. They won't turn on volume for games if the Bears aren't playing. It would be nice to spend Thursday night or Sunday here watching, and listening, to all of the games!

I came here for a friend's birthday immediately after getting off work. I walked in to where my friends were, and was happy to see that we were given a private room. I sat down and selected a beer from the list and it was in front of me a minute later. I was impressed. The menu has a little something for everyone as far as food goes, and I personally like the concept of the beers all being on tap. I overheard someone tell me they also have tables where you can pour your own beer as well. Unfortunately, our waiter was one of the worst I've ever had. I was one of the last people to join the party, and I arrived alone. When I placed my order, he did not ask if I was paying cash or starting a tab, or if was joining another tab with a friend. Shortly after, the last person came and ordered a beer. This time, the waiter asked him if he would be paying cash or starting a tab.... and then he realized that all of the couples and individual people would be on their own tab. I had ONE beer and stated, "I'm on my own tab." He immediately had an attitude and said, "Well you're supposed to tell your waiter when you walk in. I don't remember who had what and because i'm lazy, you can figure it out for me". He then came back with our checks without us saying we were done and told us he "tried to figure it out, but probably messed up." Disappointed by his sour attitude, we decided to take our party elsewhere. As long as I never have this waiter again, I would return to this establishment. **UPDATE** I went back to Tap House on Friday and had the same waiter. He was quick to serve us and made sure we had everything we needed while we were there. At the end, he wrote an apology for last time at the top of our check, which I really appreciated. Today, I received a personal apology from someone from Tap House that saw my review. I definitely feel better knowing that the employees of this company care enough to reach out and say sorry!

Wow! 8 or 9 other places you would think that this should be old school to them but it took 3 hours for a salad dinner??? When we got there we waited about 15 minutes just for water. Then we never saw her again. Then some time later a man who turned out to be a manager, brought out just our dinner before anybody's food. They made everyone else wait 20 minutes. We felt so awkward! Someone at our table had asked for separate checks when we arrived and when it was time to leave the waitress brought us a copy of our check and asked us to pick through and tell her what everybody had had, REALLY? Had to find a manager just so we could get our check straightened out so we could leave and he screwed that up charging the wrong stuff to the wrong credit card. The service SUCKS and the management is no better! The food is just barely OK.

7:05pm We have been seated in a booth (party of 6) spacious with many TVs in viewing area. Host was quite nice, I felt personally attended too. 7:18pm Drink order received we were offered a substitute beer special as the lagunitas was out. Server seems curt. Placed order for fried bacon. 7:22pm Fried bacon arrives by a busboy who is also curt. He also may belong to a gang based on his hair style. 7:24pm Fried bacon with the chipotle sauce is pretty damn good and the helping size was decent, but I don't know if I feel the price I paid is adequate to the portion. I noticed our server has C.B.F. Also known as R.B.F. (Chronic b**ch face or resting b**ch face) 7:37pm Server checks in on us we are doing fine. Shortly after our server scurries away my other party member receives his fish and chips order. (Not my the gang banging bus boy) 7:41pm Gang banging bus boy comes back around to collect my plate. As I reassess, he is a lot more polite this time around. 7:48pm I make a trip to the bathroom. Very clean. 7:49pm One server make comment about how my girlfriend has done something right to be surround by all these "babes" (1 women amongst 5 guys) quite flattering on all accounts 7:56pm One of my party accounts his response to his fish and chips. "Not above average" Another party member comments on his cheese curds "too salty, but they taste better than your standard cheese curds. Not worth the ten dollars" 8:07pm Our server came to pick up an empty glass. She seemed annoyed at the fact I wanted to order more food. Recently I noticed I've been having to yell across the table because it is very loud here. 8:18pm I speak with other patrons outside whilst smoking outside. One man enjoys the food and another woman commented on the decor. A brick pallet with warm industrial lighting. 8:25 One of my party members doesn't like the beer she receives and decides on another... She is unable to order it, as me adopting her current beer is not an excuse enough to have that many beers on the table. My Kobe beef sliders arrive. They are quite tasty. 8:29pm The server arrives with the beer that was supposedly not allowed. We graciously thanked her for the accommodation and she didn't seem to like having to do it. 8:31pm A fresh bottle of ketchup that resides on the table requires us to unscrew the cap and peel the safety seal away ourselves. (You may think I'm nitpicking but alas I'm only accounting everything that takes place.) 8:51pm Haven't seen our server in 20 minutes, 2 of our party members have nothing to drink 9:00pm Our server come around finally and asks about more drinks. 9:17pm We close out our tab. Final verdict Ultimately I enjoyed myself but when seeking out good food, craft beer, and great service... I may try to find something more reasonably priced. For a nice place to watch a game and drink cheap beer (bud or miller) I may return in hopes I have someone else who has any type of people skills to wait on us. The bar itself has a nice aesthetic but the music and tv volume compete with the noise of the patrons. Turn off the volume on the TVs and enable subtitles, turn the music down a couple decibels and the patrons may not have to talk so loud to be heard. Our server seemed annoyed that she had to help us as well so maybe re evaluating some of the wait staff may be in order as most of the other reviews complain about service.

Upscale pricey tasteless bar good. Good beer selection but very expensive. I will over pay all day long for good food and won't even notice the beer prices but but bad food always makes u remember the bill! One star on food. I had the Blackened fish tacos and my wife had the Veggie veggie flatbread. The tacos were large pieces of tilapia which was great accept there was barley any Blackened seasoning and a LOT of vein in them. Vein is the black part of a fish that makes it taste fishy. The salsa was a sweet corn nix but again tasteless. When I think of fish tacos my mind goes to Baja California these tacos were plain white bread made by a guy/gal that has never entered a mexican restaurant let alone a mexican city! The flat bread was very expensive for the very small portion and again super tasteless! How do u mess up veggies? I don't recommend eating there. Two starts on beer. Great selection is trumped by the "first born" pricing! In closing a great location very well remodeled that falls totally flat in the food and super expensive for the food portions and over priced beer. Palatine residents won't support such insults.

The food is decent. I had the buffalo chicken wrap the first time I went and it was good.. second time I had the Margarita flat bread--- it was disgusting. I do not recommend it. My husband didn't really enjoy his meal either. I like the TVs and think it would be a fun place for a sports game... but not so sure about the food items we've had. Lastly, my husband's friends found it to be very odd that the only bartenders were guys. They were all talking about for whatever reason they prefer a girl bartender... and it just seemed weird that only guys were behind the bars? Oh well... maybe I'll try it again.

It was so refreshing to have a new bar/restaurant open in Palatine. I came here a few times last summer & really liked it, but after my experience last night I doubt I'll be returning. A group of us went to watch the Bulls & Hawks playoff games. We got there for the last two periods of the Bulls game & instead of playing the sound of the game there was techno music playing really loud. Techno music at 5:30PM??! We asked the waitress about it & she said the managers chose this music. Why not play the game audio while there are families with young kids & people of all ages are trying to dine early on a Saturday evening? The audio came on right when the Blackhawks game started, but the loud annoying techno music was played again in between periods. The appetizers were good & the beer selection was great. Our waitresses were awesome & very attentive, but the loud annoying music ruined the whole experience. Put a jukebox in & turn it off during the games. Let people decide what they want to listen to instead of playing music you like Managers. I can see if your clientele are young club goers but they clearly are not. This place had so much potential.

So I went to Tap House Grill last Saturday night in Palatine. From what I understand, they had just opened. My opinion, if you aren't ready to open, don't open. I sat at the bar with a friend and looked over the beer menu. Lots of Craft beer on tap but I can go to numerous places and have that option these days. The bartender took our order and promptly brought us our beers. Although the place was only 3/4 filled, it seemed loud and cavernous. We look at the food menu and order a couple of appetizers, the Tator Tots and the Buffalo Cheese Curds. The food came out a little while later and we were trying to figure out what was wrong with the Tator Tots. Then we realized that the Tator Tots were missing one of the main ingredients, the Chili. So we asked the server to fix it and she brought it back to the kitchen. It came out correctly the second time but unfortunately it was still just as meh. Looked like grocery store frozen tator tots covered with all kinds of stuff, none of which was very flavorful. Not worth it. The Buffalo Cheese Curds were not memorable at all. All I can tell you is that the marinara sauce served with it tasted like a canned tomato sauce. We finish 1/2 of each appetizer and push them to the side, not worth finishing. We order a 2nd round of beers but it never comes. We ask again, still couldn't seem to get another beer. Finally the third time, when the bartender realized that we were kinda getting angry, we got our beers. Mind you, there were, what appeared to be 4-5 bartenders behind the bar at this time. Not sure why they needed so many but clearly it still wasn't enough to get a beer within an acceptable amount of time without having to ask 3 times for it. My favorite part was the constant small river of water that was trickling from under the bar and pooling in the server walk way where the servers pick up drinks. I assume there was a sink or ice machine leaking or something because there was no stopping this slow stream of water. Every once in a while, someone would come by with a mop or a roll of paper towels and wipe it up and jam the paper towels under the bar where the leak seemed to be coming from but within minutes, it was all back again. Talk about a safety hazard, we saw more than 1 server almost wipe out in that area. Thank goodness they weren't carrying drinks at the time otherwise my night could have gotten a lot worse as I was sitting at the end of the bar near the pool. So like I said, if you aren't ready to open, don't open. Looks like there is a lot of training and repairs that need to be done first. Service was horrible. May or may not give Tap House Grill another shot, it's hard for me to forget my first impression.

I love this place. Durty Nellies still has them beat on overall beer selection but the atmosphere, food, drinks and service are simply awesome. Plenty of choices to keep this craft beer fan happy for sure. Barry, the manager is an excellent bartender and people person. Keeps everyone serviced and is very social at the same time. Highly, Highly recommend this place.

Decent food. Decent beer. Decent but slow service. Nothing special yet. Maybe it's because they are new but they do need to get it together a little bit. For having 50+ beers on tap they really had nothing special. Whatever the case Its a great place and I will be back many times guaranteed. Especially on a nice day with the doors open. Cheers!!!
