great sandwiches. so far i've had bbq pork sandwich, fiesta, and something else i can't remember. but all of them were delicious. i liked fiesta the most, chunky pulled pork, roasted peppers, avocado spread and something else i couldnt distinguish. i also had tomato soup, which i did not like so i probably wont ever get soup again. prices are reasonable and serving portion for sandwiches are huge. recommended! $8~12
First visit today...will not be the last. Hubs had the Cubano, I had the Fiesta. Split a cup of tomato basil soup. Soup was wonderful, sandwiches absolutely delicious. Weather was bad, snow, sleet...but a steady stream of customers speaks volumes for the quality of the food at this wonderful neighborhood sandwich shop. We were impressed and can't stop raving about the menu. Friendly service. Can't wait to go back, especially when we can eat outside. When looking for a great sandwich...this is the place
Came in here for a lunch... so tasty and such great service! I recommend the BBQ pork sandwich... comes with coleslaw on it... real tasty! Great soup as well!

Edelweiss Deli features is my go-to place for authentic homemade German food. Try the potato salad- terrific!
Nice deli/market for authentic German food. Large selection of deli meats, cheeses and salads. Many imported products on the shelves. The staff is friendly and helpful. Will come back again.
I was driving through Palatine and made a wrong turn. There it was...Edelweiss! I Yelped it before I entered and liked what I read. I was not disappointed; brought me back to my childhood. I brought home small amounts of many things for my family to try. We loved everything but the kidney bean salad was amazing. My picky kids ate kidney beans!! As for the staff, they are so kind and courteous. I never felt embarrassed or as if they were bothered by my asking questions. I adored their beautiful accents. They speak fluent English so don't be afraid to try their spot on German products.

Ramen House Shinchan

1939 S Plum Grove Rd

Reviews:
Ramen House Shinchan is among the most solid places for ramen in the northwest suburbs. If you're in the area with got that special itch that only pork broth & noodles will scratch, definitely stop on by here. The staff is efficient & friendly, always greeting you when you enter. They don't care if this is your first time trying it out, or if you're a long-time noodle veteran, all are welcome. This place is open very late into the night, which is also a plus when you've been out & don't want to settle for subpar burgers or burritos. It's a small area, which means if you hit them up during the prime dinner hours, expect to stand around a bit while they try to get you situated. The owner is working in the kitchen with his crew, the wife is most likely the lady that will seat you. This is a straight-up, no-frills, Japanese homestyle temple to the noodle. Do not call them up expecting to take-out, although if you're the type of person who would attempt to drive with a bowl of ramen in your car, you're most likely also the type of person that tries to wrestle grizzly bears. They don't do reservations, either. The food is quite delicious. Favorites of mine include the Best Condition, the Taiwan Ramen, & the Tonkotsu Ramen. Also on the menu are the traditional Japanese sakes as well as the quintessential Japanese beers, which are always a welcome companion with any bowl of ramen. If you're reading this in the car, you should definitely pull in & give them a try. You should also not look at your phone & drive, but you're also probably that person I referenced earlier with the grizzly bear.
Plain amazing food, along with expert service is the ultimate restaurant experience. I can not wait to go back and eat again.
My family is always looking for a good ramen place. Why didn't I come here sooner? Convenient location and authentic! It's a small place and we came on a Sunday evening and it was busy. In addition to ramen, they also have more items on chalk board, so we will have to come back again. The ramen soup has great flavor and not overly salty like most other places. Noodle portion is good with perfect al dente texture but there is only one thin slice of Cha-Shu in the the bowl. If one needs more, will have to order extra. My kids are already asking to go back again. We definitely will become regular...

Starbucks

Reviews:
I have been to this Starbucks at the train station many times, It's really awesome that they have a Starbucks here. They are super quick with taking orders and getting drinks out fast so you so you don't miss your train. It's not cluttered and very clean. The patio area is also great to just hangout until the train gets here. Love it!
Great location for commuters. Friendly and fast service. Just don't ask them to grind a bag of coffee. They don't grind to the correct size. Requested cone shaped paper ADC grind and got percolator grind which is much more coarse.
I know I sound like I'm 1000 years old saying this, but there sure was a lot of tomfoolery, shenanigans, and horseplay amongst the employees here. Luckily, what they lack in professionalism they make up for in speed and agility because my latte was piping hot, filled to the brim, and ready in less time than it took me to make up my mind about what to order. For a Starbucks located within a train station, speed of service is just as important as the quality of the brew and they certainly have both those credentials on lock. As far as the tomfoolery goes, I'd normally be fine with this. The good employees at Starbucks work hard and absolutely deserve to cut loose every once in a while, just maybe tone it down just a tad on Saturday afternoons, por favor? Because Saturday afternoons are when I'm most in need of coffee, most likely to be hungover, and least likely to enjoy the dying cat noise-making competition coming from the back room. And I know no one is actually going to believe me, but honest to god, two employees in back were making these just terrible screeching noises while one of the employees up front decided who "sounded more like a dying cat." Kids these days and their crazy imaginations... Again, thank god for their speedy beverage service to get away from the sounds and also throwing in a hallelujah for all the church pew seating inside the warm train station,a s well as the rather nice patio/sun deck with a fountain just outside their side door facing Smith street. Overall, the amenities outweigh the annoyances and it's a location that's might convenient when taking the train to the city.

Pita Pita Mediterranean Grill

Reviews:
Tucked into a strip mall that has seen better days, I would never have guessed how good Pita Pita is. That's what Yelp is for I guess. Chicken Shish Tawook = excellent -- cooked and seasoned perfectly. But I really couldn't find fault with anything. The service at the counter was friendly without being annoying, food was prepared quickly and the price was extremely reasonable.
I've been going to Pita Pita since they opened. I'm a huge fan of this type of food and try a lot of different restaurants; Pita Inn, Naf Naf Grill, Reezas, Alhambra's just to ne a few. Pita Pita is by far the tastiest of them all. There food is tastier then all of the more expensive ones as well as the ones in their price range. Don't be fooled by any review under a 4 or 5. This place is the best!
Wanted to try this place after reading the reviews. Placed my order online (very convenient). Pick up was convenient too, it was ready to go. Pros - easy ordering, ready when stated, salad is good. Cons - ordered extra pita & garlic sauce - didn't get it. The beef shawarma was dry and chewy. The chicken kefta kabob was unevenly spiced and cooked so half of my pieces were overly charred and not edible. The hummus was half full even though we ordered a small size (I guess it was a small, smaller than the small at Pita Inn). It was way too lemony too, couldn't taste the chickpeas or the tahini, just lemon. Pita was grilled so it made it dry and chewy. Ordered the baklava and disappointed that it's not made in house, but by a bakery in Chicago. $5 for the box... I could get the same box cheaper in the city. Overall - very disappointed. I can see why they're always offering deals online. Saving the gas and will stick with Pita Inn.

Pizza Bella

Reviews:
First time ordering from here since moving to Palatine last December, and I am mad at myself for waiting so long! My wife had a taste for Eggplant Parmigiana last night for dinner. None of the places we've ordered pizza from seemed like they would be appropriate to make this dish authenticly. So I did my usual Yelp search and came across Pizza Bella. I read many Yelper's reviews, went to their website, looked at the menu and was blown away by their dinner selections. What I didn't expect from their moderate pricing is how huge of a portion you got! When the delivery driver handed me the bag I almost dropped it because I wasn't expecting it to weigh so much. My wife had the grilled calamari as an appetizer and loved it. I choose a small chopped salad for myself. Now I'm not usually a salad kind of guy, but again, Yelper's said it was good so I decided to try it. The small portion is easily enough for two if not three people and I enjoyed it so much more than the only other place I ever eat chopped salad from, Portillo's. My wife said her Eggplant Parmigiana was the best she's ever had delivered. I chose the Piatto Al' Angelina for my entree. absolutely friggin" DELICIOUS! The pasta was cooked perfectly! Not over or under cooked. I could tell that the ingredients which make up the dish were fresh and again, cooked perfectly. Both my wife and I were only able to eat half of our meals leaving enough leftover for her to take some of my dinner to work for lunch so she could try it and there is still enough for a leftover's dinner. Oh, and the garlic bread? I would order just that to eat it was so delicious! All of our food arrived HOT, not warm, which was a huge bonus. Pizza Bella, you've got our business in the future. I can't wait to try so many of your other dishes and pizza!
Really solid delivery service - definitely above average for speed, accuracy and temperature when it arrives. They pile on the toppings, so be prepared for a loaded pie and leftovers. One of my favorite delivery options in the Palatine area!
My company catered a lunch and we were served lasagna, meatballs, salad, bread, chocolate chip cookies and brownies. I had a little bit of all of it and OMGGGG. I'm not even exaggerating when I say it's the best "comfort italian" i've ever had from a catered menu. EVERYTHING was so good. I even nicknamed the brownies "crack brownies" because I couldn't stop eating them. The lasagna was absolutely DELISH. I normally don't like meatballs, but it was the only protein being served so I decided to give em a try and I am SO glad I did! First time I've ever said meatballs were DELISH!
