I was really hoping for a good Thai place in Palatine. This one was ok...but just didn't wow me. Walking in the building...you notice that their sanitation score has gone from a 96 to a 90 to an 82...that's disconcerting but we pressed on. Once you get into the building there was an odor of vomit. Not sure if that was one of the smells of the meals, but again we pressed on as there were people sitting down and obviously they didn't seem to have an issue with it. We started off the meal with egg rolls which were good. Nothing to write home about but solid Thai egg rolls. Thai iced coffee was just alright... I ordered the chicken yellow curry which was flavorful and really saved the experience for me. The chicken was nicely cooked and I ordered the spiciness level to be "medium-hot". Came out perfectly spiced. Definitely recommended. My girlfriend ordered the Pad See Ewe Thai Style..which honestly just had next to no flavor for the dish. It's generally my go-to in a Thai restaurant but I wouldn't get it here. Overall, not a bad Thai place...but I'm sure there are better ones around.

Not even close to the Palatine location. I will say that they do make good Pad Thai, everything else is not good. They do not offer delivery, but are open on Monday's unlike most Asian food restaurants in the area.

This was honestly the worst food I have ever had in my life. Not the worst Thai food. Not the worst Asian food. The worst FOOD I have ever had the displeasure of putting in my mouth. Absolutely disgusting. I went to Downtown Palatine Fest last night and instead of getting a cheeseburger or pizza, my friend and I chose Thai. I love Thai food. I used to live a block away from some of the best Thai food in the city by Lawrence and Broadway. I had a hankering for some pad Thai. I took one bite and had to have made a face because my friend asked me what was wrong. It had the strangest consistency as if something else was in there besides noodles, chicken, and bean sprouts...like mashed potatoes. I kid you not. Grainy and thick. So gross. So I took a bite of the egg roll I got on the side. They had to have dipped the damn thing in fish oil cuz all I tasted was cod fish. Sooooooo revolting. Hands down the worst thing I have ever eaten. EVER. Not only was the food abominable, but the service was bad too. And like I said, this was at a street fair. How could the service be bad? Well, on the sign with the menu it clearly stated, "Combination of any 3 items $7". So when I also ordered Thai coffee along with the disgusting pad Thai and fish egg roll, and it wasn't $7, I of course asked why. They said that only included food items. I said that should have been specified on the sign. The lady just kept saying sorry. Uh, how about instead of saying sorry, give me the discount? I have worked as a server for 3 years and in my experience, the customer is always right and the discount should have been given. I understand that this food probably had been sitting out all day and isn't going to be super fresh or even super good, but come on. This was just amazingly bad. As if someone tried their darnedest to make it inedible. And I have been to Taste of Chicago practically every summer my entire life and I have worked at the Taste of Schaumburg. I have never had worse food ever anywhere in my life. Worst food ever. Save yourself the money and go ANYWHERE else. Honestly. So sick.

I was so excited to try this place... I love Thai and have been to some really great places! I was very disappointed. The waitress seemed impatient and disinterested in helping us, the place was very cold although the decor is very nice, and the food was okay... The drunken noodles seemed to be tossed together without any finesse and the tom kha was not spectacular. Nothing great to rave about. However what was most alarming is both my husband and I had serious stomach aches after and I spent much of the night afterwards in the bathroom : (. We won't be going here again.

The service is very good and the food is alright. Not very popular - every time we have eaten in the restaurant it is usually us and maybe one other table.

Delicious egg rolls! Seriously a-maz-ing! Reason enough to go if you ask me. The place is a little pricey, sure. Also, I am a Mexican and I like it hot but these guys' spice levels are kicked up a notch or several! I usually order medium spice at most Thai places, but here I go mild. The medium is almost too hot to eat imo. I had pad thai the first time I went there, and it was ok but I have had better. The thai fried rice was great, and so is the appetizer platter. I like the variety of sauces it comes with. This time I got the rama noodles, delish!

I love this place. It's never too crowded when we go to dine there. That might sound bad, but I always see a ton of customers coming in to pick up their food, so I don't think they are hurting for business. There's enough parking, which is great because it's right in downtown Palatine. The service is usually good, sometimes a little slow, but they are always friendly. I guess I don't mind a slow down in service because I am there to relax and enjoy the food and company, not rush out of there. I would suggest Siri Thai if you are ever looking for good Thai food in the area!

I'm going to throw this out there right off the bat; I'm not a Thai food connoisseur. However, overall this was a great meal. I called in my order for takeout as I was pulling out (haha) of the driveway and it was ready when I got there. Here's my order before I go on: Papaya salad (mild) - This papaya salad was average compared to White Orchid's (Bethlehem, PA wadddup). I think I made a mistake ordering the mild version of this dish and it would have had a little more personality if I went with the spicier version. Egg Rolls - These egg rolls were banging son. I don't really know what was in them but they were so good. The sauce that comes with them puts it over the top. Chicken Pad Thai (Spicy) - I was looking for something spicy to validate my manhood or something like that. This dish will let ya know what's really good. Put a little hair on ya chest, some lead in your pencil, etc. Very good; but, only order this if you are ready for a runny noise and watering eyes. Overall this is a great place for quick (and cheap) Thai food. My order was about $24 and I had left overs. These three dishes are definitely enough for two. All noodle dishes are under $10 which is enough to make this place worth its while. My only complaint is that there are only three levels of spiciness (plain, mild, and spicy). There is a pretty big jump from mild to spicy so be weary. On a side note, the staff was very friendly on the phone and when i came to pick up my food. The lady insisted I take some "toothpicks for the journey" which was bizarre but also hilarious.

I need to go back for a second try, but after my first meal here I was not impressed. We asked for mild spice and got major. The food lacked the Thai flavor I was expecting. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cool, but I don't have many outstanding remarks related to the food.

While the quality of food is tops in any foodie's consideration, the atmosphere also plays a huge part. Siri Thai is nothing short of elegant, unlike its nondescript exterior in a tiny strip in downtown Palatine. Intimately dark, with lovely wall decor and gold stencils along the edge, the ambiance makes for a cozy meal for two to energetic groups. We had the Nam Sod, medium spicy. If you are not one to handle spiciness, go for the mild. The medium is quite scorching. But the taste is fresh and hints of fresh lime, cilantro, chili are evident. The portion is big enough as a meal itself. I had a specialty - basil duck, which is wonderfully tender and fragrant. The husband had the yellow curry. He didn't like it as much as the one at Thai House, due to the lack of potatoes in the dish. But the flavor, to me, is fairly balanced. Prices are reasonable, selection varied, we'll return. Oh, checks not accepted. According to their take-out menu, Thai cooking class is also available. *Photos shot

I really like thai food and was looking forword to trying Siri Thai. I went in with my wife after the lunch rush. We were the only people in the place, and I felt that the employees were more worried about sitting in the dining room talking and eating there own lunch than providing my wife and I with a positive dining experience. I did like that the server asked our spice level. I ordered the Pad Thai and when the food finally come out, I was very disapointed. The chicken tasted old, like it was re-heated. I will not be going back. The only thing that was good was the water.

  • Amanda M.

We were in the area and decided to stop in for lunch. As mentioned, there is limited parking in the lot which is convenient. The interior, additionally, is surprisingly ornate for a strip mall location. Service was polite and efficient - I suspect they do a very brisk business in the evening. We had tea, the satay appetizer and then Pad See Ew (sp?). Everything was nothing short of spectacular. The food was excellent, better than any I've had in the city and I thought fairly priced (admittedly, my appetite borders on diminutive). Be forewarned that if you're asked how spicy you want your food it might be worth erring on the side of caution - our chef had a heavy hand. We'll absolutely be going back, the question is just when.

  • Janet S.

It's a spacious restaurant in a strip mall. I usually get the Pad Thai with a spiciness of 6. I'd get it more spicy rather than bland. The Beef Chow Fun is delicious as well. It is a bit pricy, but it's worth it when you have that Thai craving! The Iced Coffee is delicious here as well.

This place is an oasis in the pitter patter that is downtown Palatine. I've not been there for dinner but have lunched there a half dozen times. The service is authentic and the food is consistently excellent. Everyone I have taken there has become a fan.

One of the best Thai places I've had in the burbs. There food is consistently tasty and full of flavor. The restaurant has a really authentic feel to it and the people that work there are really friendly. I recommend the crazy noodles, Pad Si Ew and pretty much all of their curry dishes. Food is a bit on the spicy side but I like that

Siri Thai Two is consistently outstanding. We love going there, although typically save it for a special occasion. There were two of us celebrating birthdays, and we chose to go there. Siri Thai has a true family feel to it. The restaurant is run by a nice Thai couple who try hard to bring their traditions to the restaurant. I don't think it has ever been crowded while we were there, but there is a steady stream of customers picking up take-out. I tried a few new things while there this time - first, since we had a few birthdays, they brought an order of egg-rolls to the table. They were hot, crisp and delicious. I also ordered soup - Tom Kha Kai (spicy chicken and lemon grass in a coconut milk broth). Wow. For dinner, we all ordered different items - ranging from Pad Thai to Evil Jungle Shrimp to Seafood Dynamite to a Chicken dish they had on special that I don't recall the name of - it was fried, in a sweet spicy sauce. They also brought us a desert made from coconut milk and pumpkin that was "the bomb". We love this place and will certainly be back. For those of you who take out from there, be adventurous and try eating there. You will not be disappointed!

I have only tried the pad thai with beef and it is excellent and only carry out. The price is good for the size of the portions. I asked for it very spicy because not many restaurants can make as spicy as I want and they made my dish almost too spicy for me. This is a good thing, this means they listen. Thank you Siri Thai!

Online ordered Pad Kee Mow and some appetizers to go. The dude we dealt with was super nice and even tossed in a few extra of our appetizers and all the food was awesome. Proper spicy when requested too. Decided I'm eating here every night until the day I die.

The food here is good, but I think they are way overpriced. Ordered 2 apps and 2 entrees and cost was almost $50. Queen of Tofu is very good but the jungle shrimp was rather lacking as it consisted of 4 small shrimp. I would eat here again but not frequent given the price point.

I was really hoping this place would be amazing since I live nearby, but I was sadly disappointed. I ordered the beef pad thai, and it was definitely lacking. I won't be returning.

Very easy to order over the phone, but Pad Thai was oily flavorless noodles. :( The Tom Yum soup was good and my husband liked his cashew chicken. I'd try it again to see if another dish is better. I miss Thai D-lite :(

We regularly order food from here, and it's usually pretty decent Thai food. However, I was sorely disappointed this evening. I ordered the pork Pad Thai, spicy, along with a cucumber salad and my fiancé had the Yum Woon Sen. First of all, the portions have gotten considerably smaller. We got the food home and tasted, and it was sadly lacking that lovely blend of Thai flavors. I frantically added some fresh cilantro and a hefty pinch of salt. I even squeezed some lime over my Pad Thai. Even after all the additions, I ended up not eating my dish. I also ended up giving them a call to inform them of our experience- something that is TOTALLY out of character for me. I honestly think this is the first time I've ever called a restaurant to comment negatively. Anyway, I'm giving them a solid two stars because they did graciously apologize, offer to make me another dish, and eventually ended up giving us a credit towards our next order. Sadly, though, I don't know that we will be ordering from here anytime soon. There are better local places to spend our money for our weekend carry-out fix.

This is zero stars. Went there last night with the wife and the place was empty couple other tables (bad sign).and got seated right away. Looked at the menu, never got a drink order or any service again.. The waitress was too busy talking with some friends in another part of the restaurant to actually serve customers so after 15+ minutes we left. Ended up going to a great Thai restaurant in downtown AH called Bangkok Cafe. Great food and service, considering this was my first time at Siri Thai you can rest assured it is also the last.

  • Cindy D.

Service is slow. Ordered food, was told only 20 minutes, waited for 40 min...then to be told that papaya salad took longer so we ended up canceling that dish. Food mediocre. Oh, and they weren't even busy...had maybe 2-3 tables out of 15-20.

Second time visiting this place, last time wasn't too good. So I decided to come back for a second try. For the order I took it came with a soup and Crab Ragoons. The ragoons were pretty tasty, but the soup was too sweet and I didn't like it, and I wasn't too sure what the soup was made with. I got the Pad See Ew with noodles in it, and it was pretty good. Went to this place when there wasn't too many people. I might come back to this place in the future.

Siri Thai II is a small family-owned and operated business and it's my favorite Thai-place in the Chicagoland area. I always order the Crab Rangoon and the Pad Thai with tofu, which is divine. Beware, the food is spicy! I will also add that this place is great with dietary restrictions as well, seeing as I am a lacto-ovo pescatarian with an aversion to spicy food. I've always placed special orders and I've never had a problem all the years (7+) I've been going there. This place doesn't get too busy either, which makes for an intimate, relaxing, low-key kind of eatery.

  • Rob W.

Ordered tod mun and Chicken in Mussiman sauce (potatoes, pineapple and a medium spicy yellow curry). Everything was good - the tod mun order was huge - about 15 pieces altogether. Service seems to be a little bit better, but still room for improvement. The ranking is mostly on the merits of the food. Kind of becoming my favorite place for Thai food.

  • Winnie D.

Has been constantly fantastic every single time we head there for dinner. Once you step into the place, you feel like you are in Thailand with the authentic decor on the wall. There are table or booths based on your preference. Place is clean and inviting. The roasted duck curry was unforgettable - with all the pineapple chunks, red peppers and tender roasted duck meat. Went very well with rice. The noodle dishes like pad thai, pad see ew and pad woon sen have been really tasty and flavorful. Of course the large portion doesn't hurt too! They can cater to your level of spiciness so go ahead and burn your tongue if you dare! I tried having very spicy for my tom yum soup and it came out spicier than I've expected. So spicy but tasty! Once the lady server offered us customized thai style chicken rice for the following week because we merely mentioned that we were missing authentic thai street food in Bangkok. She said the dish was kinda complicated and needed some time in advance to get ready so we agreed on a day for that. So excited for the entire week and it didn't disappoint. Chicken pieces were tender and juicy topped on flavored rice alongside with some home-made chilli paste/sauce and chicken soup by the side. So good! I will love to give them full 5 stars - but being a fussy eater I just hate cilantro and will always inform them beforehand. Sometimes they remember but sometimes I'm served a whole bed of cilantro. Apart from this little irk, everything there has been fab. I would say this little gem in Palatine has definitely better food and service as compared to those overrated Thai places in downtown Arlington Heights where we live. A short 10minute drive down is oh-so worth it! Oh and they don't include MSG in all dishes which is awesome! We will definitely be back to try out other dishes. nomnomnomom

Tucked in a small strip mall on the corner of Palatine and Brockway lies a hidden gem of the Palatine area. Owned and operated by a family, you'll feel right at home (that is if your home is known for amazing Thai food). First off, let me say that they do not hold back on adding spices to their foods. If you ask for something spicy, be prepared to have the flames on your tongue extinguished. This was especially true for the duck curry. But even while my tongue was burning up, I couldn't stop eating the curry. It's a little more watery than I've had at other places, but it doesn't lack any flavor. The duck is tender and blends in well with the spices, veggies, and pineapples. And as well as the curry goes with white rice, I would recommend getting the Thai style fried rice as the curry adds a nice kick to an already solid dish. So if you're hankering for some Thai food and you're in the Palatine area, get over to Siri Thai Two. Don't give up if you can't find it the first time; it'll be worth the effort to find it.

This place is fantastic. I came here with my mom on a warm afternoon and sat outside in the shade. The service was great. I ordered the Hot Chili Garlic Chicken and my mom ordered Pad Thai Noodles (with chicken).. Both were delicious! I highly recommend both of these dishes. We will definitely be coming back.

I just moved to Palatine and this was the first place my dad took me to - mom doesn't like Thai food and she was out of town - so it was our chance to EAT! I trust my dad when it comes to food like this - and he did all the ordering and it was awesome. I can't wait to go back soon!

They're extra deep and they don't skimp on the juicy stuff at the bottom of my Spicy Basil Tofu... and everyone knows the juicy crap is super important with Spicy Basil Tofu because that's what helps mash the rice in and make your meal as uniform and appetizing as possible. To date, Siri Thai is hands down the most generous with take out food portions and that's something this glutton can get down on. Plus, the food's pretty darn good, too. I like my stuff superspicyfireinferno hot and they do a damned decent job so I gotta give props. This is great thai food restaurant in palatine area. When we were there with friends at dinner time, the restaurant was nearly empty. However while we were there there were lots of pick up orders constantly. Soups were great and all entries were of decent size. I liked the spicey crazy noodles and pad thai. The owners seem really friendly. Great tasting food at decent price. Definitely visit again.

The best Thai food I have found in the northwest suburbs! I was psyched to see that this restaurant does not use MSG in any of its dishes. The owner talked with us and said this was because he is allergic to MSG like me. This means I was able to order whatever I wanted off the menu! We started with a small order of crab rangoon. I really liked how appetizers could be ordered in small or large portions. The crab rangoon was fantastic. Next, we split a large hot and sour soup with chicken. It had tofu and tons of fresh veggies. There was a veggie in it that I did not recognize (next time I go back I am going to have to ask what it is!) it was really tasty. We ordered it medium spicy, but I think they use a higher scale because it was pretty hot! This was the best hot and sour soup I have ever had anywhere! For dinner I had my staple Thai dish, Pad See Eiw with tofu. It was very good. I am very picky with my Pad See Eiw and I was thoroughly impressed. The service was fantastic and the decor was beautiful. This is a Thai restaurant that you could actually go to on a date. It is a nice atmosphere. I love Siri Thai!

This is the place that sets the bar for what Thai food should taste like. This is where we bring new co-workers and convert them to Thai food fanatics. The staff is friendly, but sometimes communication can be an issue: ignore this, the food is worth it. Favorites here at my office include the Pad-Thai, Thai Style Fried Rice, Pad See Ewe, and the Spicy Garlic Chicken. Their lunch special is the way to go.

This place is an oasis in the pitter patter that is downtown Palatine. I've not been there for dinner but have lunched there a half dozen times. The service is authentic and the food is consistently excellent. Everyone I have taken there has become a fan.

Love the noodle dishes..have had most of them and they all have different flavors and good spice. Everything can be modified. My friends love the soup extra spicy--but watch out, it will make you sweat!

Delicious food and a wide variety of entree's to choose from. A bit pricey for us to order on a frequent basis but will when we can.

Service is slow. Ordered food, was told only 20 minutes, waited for 40 min...then to be told that papaya salad took longer so we ended up canceling that dish. Food mediocre. Oh, and they weren't even busy...had maybe 2-3 tables out of 15-20.

Average asian fare for the suburbs. Its a little on the pricey side but the portions are favorable. The food is made fresh, hot, and fast. My buddy lives right across the street and they make it as quick as we can get it. I've stuck to my thai favorites (things with curry and sticky rice) and I have yet to be either wowed or disappointed. Not a terrible spot, but they wouldnt fare well in the shadows of good competition.

I visited this place about a year ago but couldn't remember if I liked it our not so I gave it another try. Glad I did. I ordered the chicken pad thai. Very very good. I like that they ask if eggs are ok and they let you know about things that are in the dishes. I also ordered the fresh spring rolls, this is also one of my favorite things to order when I see it on the menu places. The woman at the door informed me they were made with shrimp, was that okay? I said oh not tofu? she said no but we can make it anyway you would like it. so I ordered it with tofu. You get 3 and I asked if they would but them as I had a take out order. She said sure. Very very friendly. I was also offered water as I waited. Beautiful decor, this is not a quick take out place. It is a good place for a family meal or a date. I also saw on the menu that they have lunch specials during the week. Reasonably priced for very good quality food.

I just ordered takeout from here last night. I love Thai good and was really looking forward to trying this place. It was some of the most bland and greasy food I've ever had. I ordered the Siri chicken and the Rama noodles so I could get both their special house sauce and their peanut sauce. Both were horrible. Watered down peanut butter with no spice and no flavor. Over cooked mushy noodles and under fried chicken. I definitely don't recommend going here, I'll never eat it again.

Seeing the good reviews and looking for some local Thai restaurants, I found myself calling in for takeout. The woman on the phone was extremely friendly. She'd even advised me to back down from "hot" to medium as their hot was extra hot and that she'd include some hot sauce. This sounds awesomely delicious! Ordering the pad Thai, seafood salad, and evil jungle shrimp, I was advised the food would be ready in around 20 minutes. I'd left to arrive in 15 so I could grab the take out as soon as it was available. I showed up, gave my name (Darren) and waited as multiple others came in, gave their name and picked up orders. Realizing I'd been there over 25 minutes, they'd located the food, it was misplaced as they didn't associate their spelling "Daren" with "Darren" provided. OMG. I'd paid and taken the food to go, warm for the wear. I was disappointed with the unnecessarily aged take out. Not the finest experience for me to begin with. However, the food, although not hot in temperature, did have a good pepper kick and this seemed like a fun place to dine in sometime. I wanted to inquire about their cooking classes too they had a sign about, however when I got the food I was just hungry and eager to go :) I'm looking forward to checking out this place another time.

Found this place on Yelp on my way home while craving something Thai and I found the service very good, food was outstanding, and the price is reasonable. If you like a traditional Thai experience, the decor and music won't disappoint!

I had been here quite a while ago and frankly had forgotten about the place due to its location. As I was bored out of my mind and just couldn't do another pub or Italian night, we wandered over to Siri Thai Two. The place was pretty empty on a Thursday night, but they did seem to be doing a brisk carry out business. We started with some pot stickers which were pan fried and quite good. I followed that with the curry chicken. It seems like everything has the option of being average spicy or super spicy. Since I was considering this my first time there, I took the normal just to be safe. The pot of chicken curry came out pretty quickly and our water glasses were always filled. Service was quite good. The chicken curry was really a surprise. I like curry, but this was very good. The chicken was tender, the vegetables were crunchy and the curry sauce full of flavor. We ate and talked and ate and talked.. and at some point I put my hand on my head and noticed that I sweating profusely. Excellent. The spice hadn't been enough to blow out my taste buds or cause me cough, but man it was doing its job. We'll be back to Siri Thai Two in the near future to try more of the eclectic menu.

I really wanted to like this place for so many reasons: 1.) They are family owned, when walking in you can see the super cute pic. 2.) They are so sweet, I got lost in the way and they lead me there and when I talked to the man at the register he was amazing. 3.) I love supporting small family businesses. 4.) Peer pressure- everyone on here loves them, I don't want you showing up at my house to beat me up. 5.) It is such a cute little place. The location of the building is actually really odd. You can't see the restaurant because a portion of the building blocks it. I ordered the Chicken Yellow Curry with Spring Rolls to go, I wanted to enjoy everything from the comfort of my couch on a lazy Monday! I know everyone said the portions of food is amazing, I really didn't see that. For $6, you don't get many spring rolls. I kind of felt jipped and it was ok. Nothing to write home about. Actually, I think that my spring rolls are better. The yellow curry was different. When I took it out of the container, it smelled really funny, like bad fish sauce mixed with septic tank. It was so weird, I was actually afraid to eat it. When I mustered up enough courage, it tasted pretty good. I was really shocked with that, how does something smell bad but taste good. Aren't the two tied together? I couldn't explain this so I called a friend and had them stop over to try it and they were amazed and surprised as well! The food is a bit pricey for what you get, I don't think I will be coming back here any time soon!

Siri Thai is one of our go-to restaurants in Palatine. Thai cuisine has been one of my favorites for more than 25 years, and this restaurant is the best source I've found in the area. The food is consistently good, especially the pad see ewe and curries. The "queen of tofu" appetizer is one of the best tofu dishes I've ever had, but should not be ordered for carryout, as its crispy deliciousness does not hold up. The space is beautifully decorated with traditional Thai wall hangings and ornaments, and the service is reliable.

I came here with a friend who was in from out of the country and looking to get a thai food fix. We were there on a Saturday night around 8 and were the only ones there, but they did seem to be doing a steady take-out business. The food was great. We had the cashew chicken and volcano fried rice. I liked that the server asked how we liked our spice level. Everything was delicious, so much so that I drove from North Arlington Heights a few days later to have more volcano fried rice for take-out! I'll have to stop in and pick up a menu the next time I'm in the area, since they don't have a website. Not the most traditional thai, but good!

    (4)

  • Dave C.

Siri Thai is run by people from Thailand who know how to cook. In fact they offer classes on how to do it, but I digress.. On weekdays, there are few people here. That means great service, attentive wait staff, fast meals. There's a full bar as well as foofy drinks like bubble tea and smoothies. There are all the Thai food standbys and some things I wouldn't expect like escargots. They allow you to pick the level of spiciness. My son and I love it hot and spicy. My daughter - make it bland. And, we are all satisfied. The atmosphere makes one feel a bit like one is in Thailand and provides a basis for conversation. This is in a strip mall, which probably hurts their business a bit, but makes it easy for good service - and it is right on Palatine Rd. in the center of town

Love this place , I have been here for lunch many times, and carry out even more often than I should. Always have had great food. the service is always good I have never had dinner here as I do not live in Palatine just work here , The only thing I have to say negatively is it can be pricey

If I keep coming back you know it is gooood. Hot and sour soup never a disappointment. Tried something new Pad Woon Se (sp) thin bean thread noodles with lots and lots of veggies and beef. I can't believe I ate the whole thing. I may have to take their cooking classes so I can make some of these dishes. I heard the classes are fun.

Dine in or carry out this place is great! At first glace it might appear to be a little over priced but when they bring out the food you realize that they just brought food for two or three (or one of me). The portion sizes are very generous and the food is o-so-tasty! I have had the lunch specials and ordered dinner - everything is consistently delicious! The lunch special comes with soup and a small appetizer depending on the day it is an egg roll or crab rangoon. My favorite, tofu pad-see-ew with Thai iced tea, is amazing, one of the best around! One thing that should be noted is that Siri Thai can give your food a little extra kick -spicy, spicy, spicy (if you ask for it). My first time in I asked them to make it spicy .. actually extra spicy thinking I was big man and could take it. However, I soon realized that it was truly extra spicy and I was crying. I later found out that they grow their own hot peppers at the restaurant and can make the pepper into a fire flavor! If that is what you like they can deliver, I learned that I should be careful what I ask for since they were actually listen. In future visits I just order my food regular and it comes spicy (not fire) and tastes the way I like it! Siri Thai looks like a typical of a Thai restaurant, the employees are incredibly friendly, and the service is excellent. When ever I get take out I order it while I am on my way there so I beat to cook. However, I always have a fun time talking to the guy and the cashier. Siri Thai has me coming back for more!

I don't know if I go at weird hours or something, but whenever I stop in, this place is completely empty. I don't mind though, because their chicken fried rice is freaking amazing, and I usually get it to go. The owner and chef are really nice, and they always work with me to alter the food in accordance with my allergies. I just call and order the chicken fried rice with "special sauce" and they know me and have my gluten free version ready when I get there. It's a tad pricey, but you get a ton of food, so I'm not complaining. If you go during their happy hour, you get a free soup and sometimes a free appetizer too! It's a cute little place, and so authentic, even tho their chefs are mexican haha i seriously love this place in downtown palatine-- it's so close to home!

I've been to this place numerous times, mainly during lunch since it's only about 5 min away from work. I love this place for Evil Jungle Shrimp. I haven't had anything else here because Evil Jungle is THAT good. If you like your food with a kick but don't want your mouth on fire, order medium spicy. The lunch entree comes with soup and 1 crab ragoon, both are good. One thing to be aware of is that parking is scarce, so it might be a good idea to come right before or right after lunch time.

I came here maybe 6 years ago and had thai food for the first time and LOVED it..,either my taste for Thai food has since been refinded or the quality of food here has declined. We came here for dinner and were disappointed. My food was way too salty and the portion seemed a little on the small side. My guest ordered his yellow curry mild and it came out with a good kick of spice to it and was a little bland on the flavor. Service was also very slow and there were not many guests eating.

FOOD: I would say a little above average for thai food. It was very flavorful, but almost to the point where it was a little too salty. SERVICE: We were one of 2 parties in the entire restaurant so the service was pretty quick. Not sure how good it would be when there are more people. Their wait staff was pleasant, but nothing extraordinary. PARKING: Easy parking in the private lot. PRICE: A little higher than what I'm used to for thai food...especially since the portions weren't very big. Would I go there again, maybe if I'm really craving thai food and I'm the area...

NOT SO CHEAP, SMALL PORTION, TASTE GOOD for the money I paid, it is not worth it. service is polite but very slow. the waitress did not know how to smile..forget things that I asked for many times. the time I went was not busy, I had to go to the kitchen a few times to find service. a little overpriced, very expensive appetizers.

A healthy variety of well-executed standard Thai fare, done well and paired with friendly and attentive service. Like at their partner Lake Zurich location, the quiet corner strip mall location does not give away the luxe interior decor or the far-above-average quality of the food here. Menu includes four dozen or more entree choices, including the standards (Pad Thai, Pad See Ew), and a variety of rice, noodle and curry dishes ('Evil Jungle Shrimp' sounded intruiging, albeit neither evil nor jungle-y). Most come with a choice of meats or tofu and amount of spiciness. We started with a chicken satay appetizer, which was served with a delicate little cucumber salad. The meat was a bit overdone, but forgiveable under a coating of their amazing peanut sauce (more like 'spread' than sauce, really): perfectly spicy, not oily. Good enough to eat with a spoon. I had the tofu Pad See Ew (wide rice noodles with broccoli, basil and egg with sweet dark soy), which is reliably delicious. Portion sizes are large - we each took home leftovers. And do get the Thai iced tea to accompany. Our bill (entree + split appetizer + iced tea) ran less than $20 each, with tax and tip. There's limited parking in mall lot, which might be a concern at a peak dining time, but plenty of street and garage parking within a one-block radius.

Great Thai food. Always quick, take out is normally ready in 15 minutes. Lots of seating if dining in. When you ask for your dish to be spicy they really make sure it is!

My objection is that for the price they charge (~$10), for some dishes you don't automatically get rice (extra charge) and the portions are not generous at all. What you do get is tasty.

i used to live in palatine, just blocks away from this place, and the only dish i would order was the shrimp diving (not sure if they still have this, though). i was here recently and decided to try something more traditional, so i opted for the yellow curry with chicken and basil chicken. big, BIG mistake(s)! the yellow curry was tasty, but whenever i'd spoon a bit of it over my rice, i was constantly reminded of (and irritated by) the fact that THEY WERE USING FROZEN (OR CANNED) VEGETABLES. i completely understand if there is a vegetable shortage or your supplier missed a delivery date... but please! i can eat frozen/canned veggies any time, and i don't have to pay $$ for my meal! there also wasn't much chicken in the curry. guess they figured i needed my VEGGIES for the day. i have the same issue with the basil chicken. why aren't they using fresh veggies? do they not have time to go to Jewel-Osco (a mere minute away) and get some veggies there? my other gripe regarding the basil chicken is that they weren't using ground chicken. ground chicken is what makes the basil dish what it is. what's up with that? do i need to buy them a food processor? sorry for griping so much, but i was truly disappointed with the quality of the veggies -- er, food -- there. at $$ an entree, i expected more. oh yeah, i also forgot to mention that the veggie spring rolls were bland and extremely greasy. every time i took a bite of my eggroll, i could have sworn i was being doused with some astroglide(TM).

My favorite local Thai restaurant changed ownership some time ago and I've been searching for a replacement. I had high hopes for this location based on the menu. I placed a rather large pick up order on Thursday so I can't speak to the quality of sit down service only my treatment at counter. I'm not sure if it was because of the size of the order or because I mentioned this was my first visit, but they did include a complimentary order of crab rangoons which we found when unpacking. The female cashier/server was very polite and kind and made sure to enquire about what level heat I desired for the dishes. I was also offered a glass of ice water while I waited which was very much appreciated. The restaurant area was very nicely laid out with attractive Thai artwork and appeared orderly and clean. They have a combo of booths, tables and tables with chairs that that also back up to the long bench seating area. The food.....sigh....I ordered a combination of medium hot and hot dishes, they ask out of 5 how do you want it. We expected thai chili peppers and instead they used jalapeno peppers. Not a chili pepper to be seen. In our opinion, the jalepeno pepper gives a significantly different taste to the food. Not what we expected or wanted. We ordered Chicken Satay which we found to be dry, it came w/a small container of peanut sauce which was very good and a small container of cucumber salad which had an odd flavor to it, not as sweet as we're used to. The Spring rolls say they have pork and shrimp in them, we couldn't find any pork! You get 3 spring rolls that are rather sloppily put together wrapped all together in saran wrap....so they stuck together. They weren't sliced either which is not the norm for us at least. If it weren't for the 2 small containers of dipping sauce, they wouldn't have had much flavor. The dipping sauce was mild and fresh tasting. Not sweet, not hot. We ordered both the Green Curry and the Panang Curry and both with beef. The meat was very tender but we believed it to be round steak. Both dishes said they were to contain eggplant and long beans. We didn't see any eggplant and it seemed frozen regular green beans were used. The most disappointing thing was the use of what seemed to be an abundance of frozen corn kernels and frozen peas. There were plenty of fresh green and red peppers included but the use of the frozen vegetables was a killer for usl Who puts corn kernels in Thai curries? The next dish was the Pad Thai, nothing special about it at all, in fact it was rather bland. Then we had the Volcano Fried Rice on the recommendation of the waitress. For the life of us, we don't know how it gets its name. Bland and kind of sticky. The last dish was the Ginger Chicken. We couldn't taste the ginger at all, possibly due to the overabundance of mushroom used. Very little chicken in the dish. They should change the name of this one. They do not use Jasmine rice either, plain old regular rice with everything. We love the fragrance of Jasmine rice so this was disappointing as well. We won't be going back, the search continues.

Unassuming from the outside, casually ornate and welcoming inside, this Thai restaurant in downtown Palatine features an extensive menu of Thai delights at reasonable prices, and the food is delicious. They also feature their specialty dishes on the back cover, all are priced at 15.95, but their portions could easily feed two - I ordered a Spring Shrimp Pad Thai which came in a huge fish shaped dish, and as a matter of fact, I am finishing my leftovers right as we speak! They also seem to be great for large parties; when we walked in on a Saturday evening, there was a huge party of about 25 celebrating a birthday, and they had arranged their tables in a u shape. They pretty much took up the whole restaurant, except for the line of booths on the side of the restaurant. Service was attentive and pleasant, even with the big party. Highly recommended!
