Couldn't disagree more with the reviews posted........came into this dump the day after Thanksgiving because my out of town guests wanted Mexican....big mistake.......very bland taste, pricey for what you get (don't forget, Mexican food is very cheap to prepare), and my waiter was a fat, rude Mexican Paco....if I was by myself, I would have gotten up and walked out when he said something a waiter should never say. to a paying guest....BTW, it needs a major remodel. Stay away!

This is our first visit here. The service is questionable as we had one very disinterested server and one very attentive server come to our table. There isnt much atmosphere but The food was very good. I had the shrimp cocktail which had huge, Hugh quality shrimp and fresh avocado, onions and cilantro. My boyfriend got a giant burrito and he said it was excellent- exactly what he wanted. We are willing to try it again if we are in the area.

LOVE this place! I always choose La Fiesta over Tequilas. I've gone to both places, ordered exactly the same thing, and La Fiesta comes out on top! We've had to settle for Tequilas when out with a group, but we always make sure to tell them "Next time, go to La Fiesta!"

The best Mexican food in Marion. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu but my favorite meal is shrimp on the beach with extra beach (rice). Most Mexican places have the same food so find something you're comfortable with and stick with it.

I liked it... service was good, food decent and priced just right, but they need to offer corn tortillas. I'm not a fan of flour ones!

Good Mexican food and plenty of it. Reasonably priced. They make great margaritas and daiquiris, so splurge and have a drink or two. Flan for dessert is yummy (and authentic)...save room! There are a few Mexican restaurants in the area. This is my favorite of the lot.

Service was great, Salomon was my waiter. The food was great. The chips fresh and warm. Authentic Mexican food. This place has grown since 1996 and for good reason. Julio the owner greeted me and I felt as if we were among friends. Southern Illinois best and cleanest Mexican restaurant.

My husband and I have been coming to La Fiesta in Marion ever since we moved to Marion in 2008. Without exception, every single meal we have ever had has been consistently VERY good. The service is extremely friendly, the restaurant is clean and pleasant, and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not forget to order dessert - HANDS DOWN the absolute best dessert at any Mexican restaurant we have ever been to (and we LOVE Mexican) ...

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
