Can't I put a 4.5 up there? Very nice, consistent Thai dishes served up by a friendly and attentive staff. My wife's favorite cuisine is Thai, which we've eaten in many restaurants and the many places we've called home. Bambu Thai holds the top spot among her all time favorites. We've tried several other Thai places within a few miles of Bambu - but it's the place we usually end up when we don't want to take any chances - knowing the food will be great. Our favorites are: Pad Woon Sen, Shrimp Rolls, Drunken Noodles, Bamee Noodle with Wonton (our latest love). Now - about that 4.5... what keep is from being a 5? Location and atmosphere. But to be fair, is the best Thai food ever served in a really nice building?

I have lived in the city for the past 7 years and know what good thai is. Like other reviewers this may be good for the burbs but when compared to Opart, Spoon and others this isn't even a close 2nd. I'm sad that I live in the burbs and this is the nearest place for thai and crave the next time I'm in the city to get some really good thai food.

I have been driving past this place for a few months, and we really wanted some Thai food. The food was excellent, the service was friendly albeit a little slow. I had the Spicy bamboo Chicken. It was excellent. My wife had the Pad Thai with Sanbal on the side. Also, very nice. It was prepared in a sweet tasting sauce that mixed very well with the lime and the peanuts. For dessert we had the mango and sticky rice, which was excellent. Overall, a leading candidate to become our favorite Thai restaurant.

The best Thai food around and and I've tried most of them City and Burbs. Easily the best Tom Yum I've ever had. The shrimp were so fresh they could have been swimming around just minutes before. Another one of my favorites is the duck in red curry. Also good: ground chicken salad in spicy lime dressing, eggplant salad, pad see ew. I've sent tons of friends here and they all just rave about the quality of the food, including some who've actually been to Thailand. Nice decor too (for a small strip mall place) It's run by two sisters who obviously care a lot about the quality. Just 3 minutes from Oak Brook Mall. . . do yourself a favor and skip that crappy place in the mall and come here instead.
