This is one of my favorite bars ever!

I was hoping this place would be my go-to bar but it's nothing special. First visit, I ordered Mozzarella sticks, and they looked more like Albino Mozzarella sticks - white. Second visit, I ordered tater tots and jalapeño poppers, which both were delicious. The service is a-OK, it could be better. If you're looking for a place with better food, a more fun environment, this isn't the place.

The Town Bar & Grill is a sort-of-typical Chicago-area sports bar: one big open room with tons of televisions! Throw in a pool table, dart board, pinball machine, a karaoke night... you get the idea... I've visited this establishment many times, and happily consumed a variety of standard-type-bar-foods from their menu. My favorites are the boneless wings, Texas Cheese Fries, Buffalo Chicken Wrap, Ultimate Grilled Cheese, and their Classic Burger. Combine that with a solid beer selection and you're set for 9 innings, 4 quarters, or 3 periods! I've always found the service at The Town to be fine - my food and beverage always arrive with a smile! If you're just looking for a place to watch the game and eat some wings, The Town is a good choice! The outdoor patio is great during the summer, and it doesn't hurt that they're flanked by Duncan Donuts on one side, and a great liquor store on the other.....

Went with my mom and a friend on a Thursday night. This bar is close enough to home if we need to walk or get an inexpensive cab ride. So we were ready to drink! The cocktails alone tasted okay. But the key lime pie martini arrived red. My mom insisted that it didn't taste like key lime pie, although she couldn't detect what it DID taste like. The waitress insisted it was key lime pie despite the color. Service was slow and sloppy. Try Paulie's down the street instead.

The food is okay, and the service is friendly, but it is not number one on my list. (On another note, they do have frequent poker events here, so if you're into that, be sure to contact them for more info.)

We sat out on the patio which turned out to be very nice as the weather was "iffy" that day. Those who were with me who ordered a burger were happy with the burger. I, on the other hand, ordered nachos with chili on top; I was not happy with my order, but I would go back to try another item off the menu. If I then did not care for what I ordered, I would not go back for further attempts.

I hope you're not hungry. I came here on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was half off food and beer day. So we ordered some reuben sandwiches. They came out and first of all they were on texas toast not rye, second there was almost no sauerkraut. Lame pants magoo. The fries and onion rings were ok, but those are hard to screw up. The cheap beer was really cool too, a surprisingly large selection was available at half price not just the usual boring domestic crap. They also have an impressive selection of craft beers, which they tout at every turn. As long as you're coming here to drink it's not too bad, and is a good place to watch some sports. Plenty of TVs and a nice distribution of channels. EDIT In response to owners comments: 1) I did not look at the menu, I asked if there was a reuben on the menu and immediately ordered. Thank you for showing me the folly of my ways, I will definitely not order without looking at a menu again. But seriously, who puts a reuben on anything but rye bread? I digress. 2) I understand that you put X amount of sauerkraut on your sandwiches, but both came out with about two bites of each side that had an actual layer of kraut. Upon discovering this I intended to ask the waitress for more but was not able to flag her down until it didn't matter anymore. Further more on the topic of the sandwich the actual corned beef seemed to be strangely fried lunch meat more that the typical fare you get at most bars/restaurants. The sandwich all together was less than impressive. 3) The overall service was close to bottom of the barrel. The waitress seemed to be hired for other assets than her serving ability. She was confused when I tried to order food initially with my drinks and was only able to take my drink order and had to come back for my simplest of food orders. After we ordered and got our food and drinks she would walk by and not even look our way. I even tried to get her attention a couple times to get a water and request the aforementioned sauerkraut. Then when she finally stopped at our table to check on us, we were done with the food an needed boxes (we had hoped that getting extra kraut would make the sandwiches better the next day and didn't want to waste food) she took another 15-20 min to get the boxes. That was after she had forgotten the first time and we had to remind her when she brought the check. I apologize that I did not take the time initially to properly air my grievances and hope that this amendment to my initial review satisfies your disbelief in my rating. Though, honestly, based on the food and service this would have been a one star review if it had not been for the great beer selection and the Sunday special.

Okay restaurant. I'm not really a fan of the layout. The seats are very uncomfortable. It does have a nice bar and a lot of tv's. It s a good place to go for games and boxing matches. Food is decent, i had some chicken tenders. They have games on the walls do I guess if you're into that it could be fun. The service I recieve was ok but could have been better.

Went there because we had a restaurant.com gift certificate and it was close to our house. Decor is nice with a ton of TVs so I guess it could be fun to watch some games there especially the NCAA tourney but we didn't go there for that. The waitress was nice but the food was too bland. We had the cheese burger, popcorn shrimp, sliders and quesadilla. The burgers/sliders were dry and had really no taste. The popcorn shrimp were small and had a lot of breading and the quesadilla was just ok as well. Price wasn't bad but unless I want to just hang out and have drinks, I wouldn't go back. I would have given it a 2 star but since a bar is meant to hang out and have drinks of which I didn't experience, I figure I would give them the benefit of doubt and give 3 stars.

My fiancé and I are new to the area and The Town Bar and "Grill" is in our vicinity. We decided to try it out for dinner and a drink. The food, service, and cocktails were lacking, but the beers were cold. While a drunk patron watched gay porn at the bar on his laptop, we started with the deep fried "pizza bites", also known as the pepperocini bites. We found these and our entrees to be overcooked and greasy. If you are looking for a bucket of cold beers this is the place.

Reading these reviews makes me disappointed because of several several times I have gone, not once have I had anything to complain about. Sundays is half off food and drinks. I use to go every other day because it was close to work, but now I try to hit it every Sunday. My 21st birthday was here and ever since I have been in love. The owner, waitresses and bartenders all have a good time at work, are constantly checking on you, and are amazing at recommending new things to try. I have gone in for lunch, and have enjoyed every meal I have ever gotten, and the atmosphere is nice, because there are lots of TVs, bar space, and the bathrooms are always clean. I rate this a 5 star bar, and will continue going as much as I can :)

We had a pretty good burger with tots and a chicken parm sandwich with onion rings. Everything was hot, fresh and tasty.

I have been here several times and the food is pretty good and the beer is always cold. The Sunday Funday is what we keep returning for. Multiple tv's and seating. Pool table, electronic gambling and ATM included ;)

Just an average strip mall sports bar that serves small servings of basic standard meals. The very young waitstaff seemed inexperienced and overwhelmed do to a large size for a Blackhawks game. They had no double doors so when it is very cold outside the sold air rushes even way into the back and I felt sorry for the bartender in her small shirt. I guess there is no local ordinance to require double storm doors for the entrance to this place in the shoddy way this whole mall was put up. A typical Dupage County rush retail job makes this place a low rating despite the potential and money spent inside the bar. Get a second door for an entrance.

I come here for the drink specials and as for the food, the Texas cheese fries are what kept us coming back after our first visit, I also like the wraps, not a big fan of the nachos. I live down the street and have been coming to this bar ever since it opened about a year ago. I never really had a problem with the service even during the busy football season. There was one occasion where we were waiting longer than usual for drinks but the owner noticed this and he personally came up to check on us and get our drink order expedited. We used to go to the Foundry for Bears and Blackhawks games, but started coming here instead. I'm a bit surprised by the bad reviews. Like I said, I've never had bad service and any issues that I have had were promptly resolved. I'll admit that I'm not impressed with the food, but I can toss them beers back pretty quickly and for the most part the waitresses will have my next beer on the table as I finish off my pint.

I really wanted to like this place. I had a restaurant.com coupon, which I bought because I saw Texas Cheese Fries w/ Sweet Baby Ray's on the menu. We went on a Sunday, not realizing that food and drinks are half-off on Sundays. If I didn't have a coupon, that would've been fantastic! But based on the food, it should always be half-off... As it was, I couldn't use the coupon because of the Sunday deal. That's not why they only get 2 stars, though. After we ordered, I knew from other Yelp reviews there'd be a wait. So we played a game of pool, and then our food came out. The waitress was really nice, but wasn't the most attentive. I ordered the Ultimate Grilled Cheese (was very excited for this with 3 cheeses) and Texas Cheese Fries (supposed to have bacon bits and Sweet Baby Ray's). My guy got the Crispy Chicken Sandwich, which he said was average, and the Town Sampler - which would really not be worth the regular $10 price. Now, how hard is it to screw up Grilled Cheese? Apparently pretty easy. Because it was dry and crumby. I mean, no butter AT ALL on the bread. Ew. Couldn't enjoy it. Ate it anyway, since my fries had to be taken back. The Texas Cheese Fries I was so excited for? The reason for getting a coupon for here in the first place? Supposed to have bacon bits, but had big chunks of not-fully-cooked bacon. Ew. So I called the waitress over, and explained that I thought it was bacon bits, since that's what the menu said, and I don't like chunks of bacon (especially pink bacon that looks soft and not crunchy? Again I saw Ew.) So she took it away, and I figured she'd bring it back made without the bacon? Nope. After I ate the dry grilled cheese, and my guy had his sandwich, I was finally able to get the waitress' attention again (our drinks had been empty awhile). She asked if we were ready for our check. No... what happened to my fries? And can we have refills of our drinks, please? I think I'll just consider the restaurant.com coupon a waste and toss it. It's not good on alcohol anyway, and that's probably the only time we'd come back, just for the half-price beer on Sundays. Also, I thought this place was new? But the chairs were all pretty beat up. One of the chairs at our table even had tape in 2 places on it. If this was an old neighborhood place, I wouldn't even mention it. I like dive bars. But the rest of the place looked new, so the chairs just seemed oddly out of place. Maybe they spent their whole budget on the 17 tv's (none of which matched up with the radio that was on for a sports game). *Edit 10/29/11* I received a message from Mark (under the profile name Crystal T.) to apologize for our experience, offering for us to come back for dinner and drinks. Thinking about taking him up on the offer to give The Town a second chance.

We decided to give a new local place a try, so we bought a restaurant.com coupon for The Towne. We went there on a weekday, about one week ago. I arrived first, and was promptly asked what I'd like to drink; the beer was served in a timely manner. At this point, the experience was good. However, things quickly changed. My girlfriend showed up about ten minutes after me. We tried again and again to make eye contact with our server in order to gain her attention to order my gf's drink. She whisked around us to other tables without so much as a glance at us for appropriately 15 minutes (that's a generous time estimate). As my gf became quite thirsty, she ended up going to the bar to order a drink directly from the bartender. The bartender was extremely accommodating, and offered her a free beer and offered to immediately gain the attention of our server. This is where it gets even worse... When our server finally came over to our table, she basicallly reprimanded us for going to the bar to get a drink. She asked why WE didn't get HER attention. WHAT? Isn't that the server's job? After this, the server was very attentive, however, the negatives kept adding up. When my giflfriend ordered her food (ribyeye sandwich), she was informed that they were out of this meal. Ok, fine, she ordered a different meal. I ordered a steak wrap, and wasn't informed until my gf's food was brought out that they didn't have any meals with steak in it. I substituted chicken, but had to sit and watch my gf eat, while they cooked my chicken. :-( The food and beer were fine, but the service and attention to detail need work. Since they're a new business, we'll probably give them one more chance, but they'd better get it right this time!

Ideal for a nice sunday with 1/2 off everything(food and drinks)! decent service and great food. Managers and staff are friendly. I'd give it full 5 stars if i hadn't witnessed a fight once and my tabs been messed up a couple times, but besides that its a solid place to go.

Yuck. I thought, "these reviews can't all be true...." Yeah, they were. We went on a Mon night, around 6:00. Half price appetizers and $0.50 wings were nice. But they weren't that great. We got the sampler appetizer ($10 before half off). It includes 3 mozz sticks, 2 potato skins (just bacon bits and cheese on it), 3 wings, and some nachos w/ odd toppings. They didn't even include sour cream for hte skins or bleu cheese or celery for the wings. For $10 normally??? Gimme a break. It took us about 25 minutes to get the appetizer and it wasn't that busy. I ordered the 'Bacon-Stuffed Burger" and my wife ordered the grilled cheese (young at hear!). We both got "side-salads" with the meal. The lettuce seriously tasted like they just purchased it at Walmart and it was sitting pre-made in the bag out in the heat for 8 hours. It was revolting...you could taste the plastic. And that was for an extra $1 charge. My burger was alright. The bacon stuffing was really just one teeny section on the side of it. The bacon strips ON the burger were excellent. I ordered it medium rare, but there wasn't much pink. That could be cuz they wanted to cook the bacon inside, i dunno. My wife enjoyed her grilled cheese. The bar itself was alright. Darts, arcades, plasmas all over. There was a Monday Night Poker Night going on, so everyone was at the tables playing poker. It was a clean place. This is 95% bar, 5% grill....so I don't recomend coming here if you are just having dinner. All the food seems like something they can cook in a microwave or fryer. I only gave it 2 stars cuz it was pretty clean and the waitress was nice and the prices were low. Otherwise, this place is only a spot to get beer (and judging by the limited size of the beer menu....not that many...lol). There are better places out there.

STOP.......first off YELP is filtering the reviews of places that don't pay to be part of YELP. Go to the bottom where it has filters (23) in this case and read a more rounded view. Mark, the owner, explained the service in the first few months was bad......most places are until they get it together. Reviews on Restaurant.com are quite good. So we tried it today for lunch on this New Years Eve day. Yummy burger, fries and onion rings. Just google YELP and lawsuits and you'll see what I mean. That's a very aggressive business model they have and self serving to do. Anyhow the parking lot of The Town Bar and Grill is always packed and we will definitely go back. Good job Mark. Happy New Year

This was my second time at the Town, The first time I just got an appetizer which was not bad at all. This time I ordered a BLT and got a BLT wrap instead.I REALLY wanted the sandwich but I ate it anyway and the bacon was mostly fat and there was only 1 strip of bacon on it, very fine diced tomatos and a ton of lettuce. The fries were ok but a small portion for the price. Also, all the tables are huge. I just went with one other person and we had to sit at a table that was supposed to sit 6. I know it a weird complaint but it made us feel out of place! GET SOME BOOTHS! If your in the area looking for a place to eat or drink, just go to Paulies. Its more expensive but the food is 100% better, and just an over all better atmoshpere. If you don't like Paulies, the Foundary is great My advie for this place would be to review your menu, maybe make it smaller and take off the items that aren't so great.

The Town Bar and Grill had just opened a couple of days before, so this review is more of a what the place is like. I don't think it's fair to make a final judgment on a place until they've had the chance to iron out the bugs. If you've ever been to Paulie's Pub down the street, this place is similar, but MUCH nicer. Inside it's much more open and appealing, Paulie's always made me feel claustrophobic, this place is much larger and they didn't try and cram the maximum amount of tables inside. There are 3 large projectors on one wall, however the picture washes out with the slightest hint of outside light. Don't worry, there are flat panel TV's that cover every other inch of the walls, so you won't miss the game. They also have a row of video games in the back of the bar (big buck hunter type stuff) and a couple of pool tables. Prices are very good and the menu is pretty large with a decent variety, although it's mostly bar food. Beer prices are cheap, although I would recommend that they get a beer menu as I didn't see one and I don't know what they have in bottles. This place is down the street from my house, so I will be here many more times. I will write a follow up review once they've been open a while and things start to settle down. Overall a really nice neighborhood sports bar, worth checking out.

While previous review may have been delayed it still none the less was a true depiction of the service and the food In two subsequent visits the food has improved tremendously however the service was still lacking. My write has gone back with friends and enjoyed herself, We elk be going back this weekend for a celebration I must admit the wings rock I only hope the service has improved over the past year since opening "fingers crossed" Mark the 4 stars are for the food

You know you're in trouble when the server does not ask how you want your burger done. I had to ask for mine medium-rare. It came out medium-well. I guess they only cook it one way. The good thing about this place, is that they have a decent selection of beers, and it was cold. The meh, was that the burger was a bit greasy. The size of the side fries and tater tots were skimpy. The desert funnel fries were edible, but were fried in oil a tad too cool, so they were a little greasy. The server came back once soon after we got our food to ask how it was. I had not even put on all my condiments, and we did not see her until after we were done, so I could not point out the overcooking of my burger. In all fairness, my wife told me that I did take a long time to dress the sandwich. I had a coupon, so the price was reasonable. Would I go back without a coupon? Probably not, there are too many other places around that serve better food for a similar price.

Went here to watch football on Sunday and was highly impressed. They had TVs everywhere! And half price everything on Sundays.... what a steal! They have all of your typical bar food but what's unique is their stuffed burgers, jalapenos right in the patty. And their Texas Cheese fries have REAL bacon on them!!! Yum. The owner is so friendly and was greeting everyone as they came in the door. I will definitely be back for football, drinks, food and a good time.
