Lots of choices and fresh items coming out frequently. I went here with a die hard "meat and potatoes" guy and a vegan girlfriend and everyone left satisfied and full. The beverage situation is a little odd. Your server is responsible for keeping you glass full, as well as clearing your plates.

If you are going to consider a buffet I would recommend Golden Corral. Lots of good fresh food.

Meh. I went there with my family and was interested to see if the buffet would live up to its reputation. When you first enter you immediately grab a tray and need to decide what you want to drink. This can be overwhelming if you are in a large group as I was and trying to keep everyone together. The table placement was tight and it was hard to find an area large enough for ten. The food was not bad, but nothing to rave about either. The plus side is that they had hand sanitizers placed throughout the establishment to help with cleanliness, but that is not always appetizing to see. Personally, I would go a mile down the road and eat elsewhere.

Went on a Saturday night at about 8:00 pm hoping to avoid a mass of running and yelling kids. Man, was I wrong. Not only running kids, also running adults, or people pretending to be adults. The staff/waitress were very nice and pleasant. The food was reasonably good. The steak was much better than I expected. The desert area was a mess and needs more clean-up attention. There was also alot of dirty silverware and dirty dishes that had been washed, but not very well. Its amazing how scummy some of the customers are, throwing food on the floor and not picking it up. Bizarre.

This place is great! I went here on a busy Sunday and even though it was really crowded i enjoyed everything. The steak is some of the best steak I have ever had and almost all of the other food was good as well. The service was also great. The only negative was that the place could have been a little cleaner, but it is understandable considering the mass of people already here. Overall one of the best buffets I have been to!

wow, for $9 I think I've consumed enough trans fat and grease to clog my arteries for years to come. everything was soaked in grease. especially any potato items on the buffet - hashbrowns swimming in it. steak on the buffet. yes, but unless you like your meat tough like shoe leather it's not worth it. Omlette line took about 10 minutes with four people in front of me. drink refills were terribly slow. Please skip this place. Although, I have to admit, the people watching here is fantastic. it's like one of those "people of walmart" videos which I guess I was a part of at least for the 45 minutes I invested here.

This Golden Corral in Aurora is great! From manager Mike to the server and staff behind the buffet, everyone is very professional, accommodating, and friendly. Additionally, the food is very good at this location as well. Being one of the chain's newer restaurants, it is very nice inside. Unlike some other Golden Corrals, this one is comfortable and quiet. Announcements are kept to a minimum - and they aren't screamed over the intercom like they are at other Golden Corral locations in the area. (This Golden Corral could teach the others a lot about how to run a great restaurant! And it should!) Very impressive - especially for a somewhat inexpensive buffet. Also, unlike other Golden Corrals, one's phone will work without using up one's own data at this location. That's a big plus, too!

I just went to Golden Corral for dinner with my husband and 2 kids who are 3 and 1. And The GM Mike that my daughter(3) was closing the blinds so I removed her then he followed me to the ice cream station and my 1 year old was grabbing the small bowls and that's when he came up to me and told me that everything she touches he has to put back and that I needed to learn to control my kids. Because my 1 year old had her foot on the table and knocked over the sugar packets then my husband was to busy on his phone to watch them.. That he never had anyone go there and had there kids out of control. He told me to go google corporate number because everything was online. and told me that this was a restaurant and I needed to learn to control them. What kind of person says that to a customer? You go there for dinner (which wasn't even all good) not to get lectured and get parenting advise. I would never go back. He was out of line and disrespected me and my family.

Worst customer service, very unprofessional manager and staff couldnt hanfle a group of 11 people and starts giving people hard time for what they have paid for , dont destroy your day by coming at this place

Love coming to this place. It just sometime, they over cook their steak. Other than that everything is pretty good. They have pretty good selection of foods. I love their dinner rolls. Their deserts chocolate fountain are the best. Well, sometime their out of strawberries. They also have cotton candy that remind us of our childhood. The older manager here use to work at Old Country Buffet on Rt 59. He is so nice. He always take care of his customers and workers. He make sure you enjoy your meal. When he is short of people serving, he'll be the one pouring drinks and clean up the table. I think he is the best manager I've ever seen.

I would really rate this place a C- instead of a straight C. We lunched at this G.C. mid-afternoon, today, a Saturday. The parking lot was about half-full and there was plenty of seating within. First thing we come across: chained entry. I guess this G.C. worries about people sneaking in between the registers. I'm not sure what that says about the restaurant or the clientele. I've never been to a restaurant where a chain bars you way from entering until you've paid. After the lunch rush, before dinner ... good time to go as it wasn't crowded. The lettuce was okay, but sitting too long. The accompaniments (mushrooms, cucumbers, etc.) didn't look to appetizing and the selection was very limited. The croutons and crackers were fine and the salad dressing area reasonably clean. This was the worst part of the meal. The steak, chicken, steak fries, hush puppies, brownies were pretty good for a buffet. The service could have been better. Rosalee did a decent job picking up dirty plates, but she didn't once check on whether we needed drink refills, which we did AND which we got on our own from the "employee area." Also, according to the wife ... the bathroom, at least the women's, could have used a bit of cleaning. Toilet paper all over the floor, toilet paper jammed up in the dispenser, no fun at all! We've gone to the G.C. in Bolingbrook several times and that one has its ups and downs with the most recent visits being in the "downs" stage. We weren't sure if we wanted to come to this G.C., but overall it was an acceptable experience.

Let me begin by saying that I don't come here for the service or the other people eating there. The service isn't that great and most people are rude and let their kids run wild. That being said, lunch is only $8.69 and dinner is $11.99, add a beverage for $2.19. I got there at 3:40ish, so dinner at lunch prices. This may sound smart, but I learned that shifts change at roughly 4 to 4:30, so no one has an incentive to attend your table. I usually prefer to be left alone while eating, but when you want a simple refill and there is no one around and plates are piling up, it sucks. Again if your shift ends at 4:30, why would you refill a drink if you are not going to get a tip? My recommendation is don't order a beverage and drink water, save yourself $2. As far as the food goes, the steak is superb IMO. I had a craving for carne asada fries which are popular in California, they consist of fries, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, and steak. If I made this at home, it would cost nearly $20 just to buy the ingredients plus I would have to cook. Instead, I paid $12 at Golden Corral and still got to eat a ton of other things like 3 more steaks, fried chicken, bbq chicken, shrimp, tacos, pizza, hush puppies, coleslaw, potato salad, cornbread, sweet potato casserole, banana pudding, brownies, cookies, apple pie, and ice cream to name a few. How anyone complains about this is beyond me. I was going to deduct a star for a lack of service, but the value preposition far outweighs poor service. Besides, maybe the server was having a bad day or suffered a string of no or bad tips. Just put yourself in their shoes.

I'd like to give them 2-3 stars, the place was clean enough and the food was fresh enough. And Juana was a very good server. I'm not even complaining that it was $11+ when it said $8+ on the internet for a Saturday lunch. So far ok... Our server, Juana was professional and attentive when we had a problem and this is the problem- I got a steak and asked for it well done. It was well done and rancid. At the buffet line, I could smell there was something wrong with it. It smelled rancid. When I got to the table, I told myself that maybe I'm just imagining it. Nope. Smelled a bit rancid. Still gave them the benefit of the doubt. Took a bite. Spit it out. Rancid. We sat there for about 15 min. wondering how to best handle it- complain? Just leave? Try something else? Juana sensed something was wrong asked about the issue- was reassuring. She went and got a manager. I may have even been able to handle a bad steak. It happens. A bad one can slip in! But my problem was how it was handled by TWO managers- DENIAL. Both managers passed on smelling it. The first one claim he unpacked them personally and were within date and cooking requirements. He walked away. We were about to leave when Juana asked if things were resolved- she politely got a second manager. This guy made it a point to check the receipt and let us know we've been there 30 mins as if we had 30 mins of stuffing our faces, so whats the problem??? I'm thinking- is this guy serious? We are going to choose to try the Golden Corral, but secretly just to try to scam them for a meal??? Seriously??? He offered to take (inspect?) the steak and came back later saying it met their standards. Did he at least smell it? No. My why smelled it. She agreed- rancid. She also got a steak. Hers was fine. We both agreed on that. The manager gave us a coupon for 50% off for both our meals next time. We took it, but most likely wont be back. An apology would have been good enough. I told him once I got the steak it ruined my appetite. It was well done like I asked. How could something be wrong with a simple steak? How can you screw up a well done steak? Overcook it? No. Over season it? No. Undercook it? No, you can always cook it more. But serve a rancid steak? Thats the only way to screw it up. We just left. Not mad. Not insulted. Just disappointed. Thought it'd be a reasonably good experience. Maybe even fun?! Instead left there kind of feeling sorry for the place. With TWO managers on duty, both quick to assume someone's try to rip them off and BOTH deep in denial. We'll we had our curiosity resolved about the Golden Corral. Everything except that one steak was ok. We would have come back and tried it again. Nit that big of a deal. But the condescending management- inexcusable. The steak was rancid. Don't believe me? Give it a test or a whiff. But don't tell me there was nothing wrong with it then try to buy me off. I thought I had reasonable expectations of the buffet. Had few expectations of the place. Didn't expect tacky.

The place was a mad house of overdressed managerial staff and confused immigrants working the tray line. The stress levels jumped up to an immediate and inextinguishable level of uneasiness. There were 3 people that showed up out of nowhere in front of us with take out containers - they had no business eating more food than they already had eaten. Once we got inside the hellfire there were multitudes of experienced buffet-goers waddling about the unused spaces in search of gravies. The elderly meandered in front of each station projecting their confusion unto every fatbodied meat eater in that whole place. Brendel and I wasted no time discovering their meats, potatoes, and sauces. John stuck to chicken and vegetables, much like a female. All in all, it was a dissatisfying 9/10 - ranked solely on food deliciousness and not on atmosphere. The sweltering stench of rotting flesh was predominant nearest the bathroom. One bathroom for a room filled with 300 gluttonous pigs rifling through already picked-over meats - you would think they would just convert the entire place into a trough-style of food delivery. The place was awesome.

I so dont like the drink process like wtf am I two I can refill my drink my damn self. The food is not all that. The experience was not all that. If you been to any other buffett you probably have had a better experience because you can refill your own drink. I wont spend my money on that place again. Actually I wont ever go there ever again. Fuck Golden Corral

We didn't expect "fine dining" when visiting GC recently- but the word of mouth that we had heard certainly didn't live up to our experience. The waitstaff is very good and attentive but the food items were disappointing to say the least. Most of the hot sides looked like they had been sitting there for many hours and had a "crusty" look and texture. Not much in the way of flavor either. The salad bar is fresher but very basic with relatively few choices. I was surprised that there was almost no fresh or canned fruit on the salad bar. The GC patrons (as previously mentioned) were just this side of out of control and it was impossible for us to relax and have a conversation with all of the screaming and commotion going on. The only thing that we could figure out is that there must be some low-income housing nearby that is attracting parents with pre-teen children (and some early teens without their parents). Honestly I expected that at any moment an "Animal House" style food fight to break out. It would be fine if we are in a High School cafeteria but not here, please. Overall I'd much rather spend a little more money next time than endure this cattle call.

Had our fifth Breakfast event here and as usual everything was great! The food was good and fresh and the service was awesome! It's a buffet so it's not haute cuisine but it's a great place to go for a relaxed breakfast--everyone gets what they want and there's no rush to leave.

Eh. Came on a Sunday, around 4pm. Huge mistake. The place was a madhouse. The food was just ok. Nothing spectacular. The silverware and plates were filthy though. Yuck. We were surrounded by crying kids. My son and I got stuck in the middle of 2 women arguing VERY loudly because one looked at the others son. The waitress was a joke, took forever to refill drinks and clear the plates away. I've been to other locations and they were good experiences. This one though... We won't be going back.

This place is for families with kids. I'm not sure if I'll ever come back again. The food was okay but I'm just not a fan of kids and buffets. It does seem like all the kids are out of control running around. Several announcements were made telling parents to keep their kids under control. We unfortunately tried this place not knowing Thurs. is kids night for $3.99. The plus side was food was constantly coming out & I strategically pushed pass kids before they cross contaminated the dishes I wanted. Please wear some comfortable shoes so you can move quickly.

I went here w/my husband and the kids it was OK I was a little disappointed had some high hopes for this place me and my husband have waited for a while for a location to open here,I guess all I can say is apart from the server who was as kind as can be and the people behind us talking about how they were going to scam the place out of some gift cards,by complaining about the waitress who was nothing but nice. Well any who if I had a dicsicion between here and O.C.B I would have to say O.C.B

Oh. My. God. I'm not even sure where to begin with this gastrointestinal train wreck. First, I would like to make it crystal clear that the ONLY reason my wife and I went there is b/c it isn't too far from where we live & we were lazy as hell on a Sunday morning. So we figured we'd give it a try. We arrived at 10:30, and there was fairly long line to get in. It took us about 15 minutes to get seated. The first thing you notice is ... this place is a madhouse. Part smorgasbord, part roller derby. People there just don't give a damn if they crash into you, but that isn't the worst part. I saw several people pick food from the bins with their fingers and sample it. Umm ... GROSS?! When we got back to our seat and finally sampled the treasures we risked our lives to procure, we were powerfully disappointed. Salty beyond belief. Nothing had any real taste whatsoever. Just truly awful. So much so that it was almost artistic. I wanted to throw up as we left, just to expel the evil. There was a block of cement in my gut for the remainder of the day. This place is awful beyond words. Avoid at all costs.

How do you rate a 2 and a half star review Golden Corral? I remember back in the day that you were a great place to really fill up on quality food. I wonder what happened? My friend wanted to meet at GC last night and I thought hmmm I haven't been there in quite a while why not. Mostly every thing there seemed like cafeteria food no flavors. Fish was bland chicken was very hot but Had no flavor. The only thing that was good was some steak fresh off the grill. Sorry GC but I understand why I haven't been here in a while. I won't be back Kids there seemed to like the cotton candy but the chocolate water fall wasn't working. Very dissatisfied with overall experience!

    (2)
  • James B.

Went there a bit after noon for lunch. The food that was there is up to GC standards; mostly meat, some stuff for vegetarians to get by. No chicken. When my wife could finally get somebody's attention, the answer was five minutes. Fifteen minutes later, no chicken. Eventually, after a manager could finally be retrieved, they got something: A surly manager, who, as the guy behind my wife echoed, "had some kind of attitude." But hey, they got the chicken out. We never got any broccoli or cauliflower. A few aged pieces sat in the bottom of the pans the whole time we were there. Overall, the Bolingbrook GC is much better.

  • Lil S.

Mediocre, at best. But what can you expect from a buffet though, really. This place was a complete zoo when we were there. People crashing into you trying to get to the grillled steak station. C'mon ppl, have you not eaten in the past week??? Kids going berzerk at the dessert station and running amok all over the place. We went on a Sunday, expecting to have brunch, and got there a little before 11am. At 11am, they started removing all breakfast items and replacing them with lunch items like pot roast, meatloaf, pastas, etc. Hello, it's SUNDAY. People want breakfast! Many customers seemed baffled and irritated by this, and I don't blame them. Out of the twelve items I tried, two were ok. The rest I would never get again. You get what you pay for.

Went here for fathers day yesterday and I won't go back. The service was terrible, the food was blah and they took forever to refill our drinks (I sat there extremely parched for 10 min and then got yelled at by the waitress when I got up to refill my own drink since they sat us right by the pop machine) We had a party of 14 and not everyone showed up on time so we payed for them ahead so they could just walk in without having to wait in line to pay when they got here. They allowed us to pre pay for everyone but said that when the rest of the party showed up they had to wait in line. That is strike one, why should they have to wait in that long line when we already paid. (Sidenote: they didn't wait, my family members just climbed under the wooden rail they have. Lol) When we paid the cashier she tossed the change across the counter to my sister. That's strike two, you don't toss change across the counter to the customer. Of course my sister made her pick it up and hand it to her nicely. The buffet itself is huge and has a nice variety of food. The only food I really enjoyed was the meat. The ribs and steak was good but after I found a hair in my pasta I freaked out and couldn't stomach anything else from there. That was strike three. I'm sorry, I don't want to find someone's long hair in my food that's disgusting. We talked to the manager about how his employees were rude and that both my mom and I found hair in our food and all he could do was apologize. Would I return to this place? Umm, maybe when hell freezes over. It wasn't worth the $100+ we spent there.

  • Renae G.

I'm usually nervous about buffets like this. I've been to some GC's that are dirty and the people are rude and kids sneeze in the food..... but this one was great. I drink a ton of water with my meals, and usually I have to hunt down the waiter to refill my glass. Nope, ours was there constantly, despite the full house. It was clean, the food was good (as far as buffet food goes) and the staff was friendly and helpful. I hope it 's not just because it's new!!!!

    (4)
  • Matt B.

Where to begin? If you don't know, this place is a huge buffet and the prices are under $20 for all you can eat. The selection is huge, there are choices galore and none of it is any good. The very few food items that are okay are never refilled or if they are, you have to be fast to get whatever it is. The food is also VERY salty, to the point where I was up all night drinking water. Have you ever eaten somewhere and immediately just wish you hadn't? That was my takeaway from this place. If you ever find yourself feeling fat and out of shape, I recommend stopping in here for dinner, you'll feel a lot better about yourself immediately. I'm a big guy, but I was one of the smallest people in this place, by a lot. In conclusion, you're better off spending the $20 per person on a good meal, instead of trying to see how much food you can cram down your gullet in one sitting.

  • Kyle C.

Golden Corral in Aurora is a good place to go when you are really hungry. The food was pretty fresh (especially for a buffet). Prices are about right for what you get and it is cool to see the wide variety of different food options they have. The service is slow and disappears at times, but otherwise this is a good place to go to fill up.

    (4)
  • Miss B.

This place was gross. And it's overpriced for the quality of the food. It wasn't busy when I was there, but the place was dirty. The food looked disgusting, like it all had been sitting there for hours. Film developing over the Mac n cheese, fries and pizza looked greasy and gross. Definitely a good place for kids and/or people who don't care about getting what they pay for. Would never go back.

  • Jake M.

It was my first time to a Golden corral and did not know what to expect. I have been to OCB a few times before and this place is actually cheaper so I was a bit worried. My overall experience was good, almost everything food wise I had was better than OCB (salad, fruit, meat and desert selection). The worst part about this place is it was very (Very) warm inside and to get a refill on a drink you have to ask your waiter for a refill (unlike OCB),including water which was a problem when it took our "server" at Least 15 min to come by to clear our table of plates. And even then our empty cups went unnoticed. Our waiter 'IBK', no idea how to pronounce, was friendly but took way to long to come by our table after initial greetings. And he took a plate of mine that was right in front of me as I was still working on it, so both of those things took a dollar off his tip from me. As I read in one of the earlier reviews the 'people watching' was entertaining, I rarely go to buffets, but when I do I go for the food and the exceptional people watching of the all you can eat weirdos. I will definitely go back again to get a second opinion... Edit: Went back again, much worse than the first time, same waiter.

OK, we made the mistake of going on the opening Friday. There was almost no parking, there was a huge line and it felt disorganized and confusing. The food was "OK", it wasn't as good as they tried to make it seem on their commercials. Save a couple of bucks and go to "Old Country".

    (2)
  • Sharon S.

My hubs and I are serious gluttons, so this place is perfect. I love the breakfast, the lunch/dinner is alright-kinda bland. The chocolate fountain is awesome, well at least the idea is. I've seen kids put their dirty hands in it. Yet I still don't pass it up. See my glutton problem? Their strawberries to dip in are extremely puny, so I use the rice Krispy treats instead. Have a constipation problem? This is your fix! Lol they even have a salad bar, can't say I've seen it. The closest I've been to it was while grabbing a baked potato. So in closing: breakfast=good ($23.50 for 2 with drinks) and dinner=not worth the $$ (I think it's usually in the mid 30's when we get it). So no.

  • Yolanda T.

I don't see what the big deal is! I don't like Golden Corral at all and will never come back. The food taste like it's been sitting for hours. No taste, no flavor, warm food. Not hot food like its supposed to be. I tried them twice, and they failed both times. Old Country Buffet was so much better, so I don't understand why they went out of business. I will never go to Golden Corral again!

  • Angela P.

One word: YUCK! Breakfast was disappointing. Trays were emptied quickly by patrons, and the staff couldn't keep trays full. The food that was available was cold or tasted worse than cafeteria food. They need to get rid of the chocolate fountain and the cotton candy and focus more on putting out actual food. There were kids running around everywhere, unsupervised, and there wasn't any toilet paper in the bathroom. I actually ripped the dispenser off the wall (yeah, that was ME!) and used the cardboard tube as makeshift toilet paper.

  • Joe T.

Worst service ever , they could not handle a group of 10! The lady who was a manager was very mean and started arguing with us because we wanted to have to tables next to each other and they actually did have about 5 empty tables

First time coming to a Golden Coral and I actually enjoyed myself. My boyfriend and I randomly Came here one day cause we were in the neighborhood and we had fun. We came when it wasn't busy at all. It was about $10 each but we also came early in the day so I don't know if there would be a difference in price. But they have a lot to choose from and they have a good desert section too. My favorite I have to say though were the hush puppies. They were sooo good!!! lol. But they have a good selection for everyone and you can't go wrong coming here.

  • Leonard W.

Name one buffet that you will give 5 stars.... Seeing how I've never been to any of the white house buffets I can't give 5 stars either. (Going to have to talk to my mailman to see why I keep missing that invite.) Think Old Country Buffet, think Chinese buffet... think spending $15 and eating ALL YOU CAN EAT. There should be certain expectations for this kind of place. They provide a see through Chinese experience for certain sections for their food that way you can SEE that it's clean and that they are prepping/storing/cooking the food the right way. The place is okay. but how many buffets are worth coming to more than once every two three years?
