Slanted Rock serves up great brews in a great little space with a perfect friendliness! Came here after our Yelp Community Event at High Desert Harley and enjoyed a Iron Butt Red Ale. So delish. I also enjoy their Silhouette Dark Ale and had a sip of my companion's Imperial Stout, which was all kinds of amazing (probably my favorite!). The servers/bartenders are prompt ad completely lovely. A true neighborhood kind of place. If it was anywhere near my hood, they'd find me a frequent visitor. Even without living in the area, I still definitely look forward to making the trip on regular basis. If, for no other reason, than I noticed on their website that one of their seasonals is called: Pantyhose Imperial Baltic Vanilla Porter. Porter is my fave and theirs sounds just downright delicious! Get to it!

Yeah, two stars. Bring on the hate. The overly-inflated reviews I see for Slanted Rock remind me exactly of the ones for Boise Brewing. I know that tastes differ and it's all down to opinion and, yet, it isn't at all. There's a reason everyone talks about brews like Pliny the Elder (even though Blind Pig is way better) and breweries like Stone, Deschutes, Lagunitas, Firestone-Walker, Rogue, etc. There is good and there is way better. I can appreciate locals being loyal to local beer, but it would be hard for me to give Slanted Rock a five-star review when all they do is beer and I don't think they're one of the better beers in the valley. I will admit, right off the bat, that this review reflects an experience that happened one year ago. I am, in fact, giving this brewery a two-star review to motivate me to return and give them another shot. Breweries grow! They do! Edge and Crooked Fence are shining examples. So I hope that all of these stellar reviews reflect a seriously improved tasting experience. When we tried Slanted Rock, every brew was mediocre, the IPA was barely discernible from a fairly standard pale ale, and I believe the Kolsch was the best thing they made. I say, without sarcasm, that I can't wait for the opportunity to try them again and, hopefully, agree wholeheartedly with all of the stellar reviews. Sadly, like every brewery that doesn't also serve food, we won't be allowed in with our child. I won't be able to taste here until we find a sitter for our baby, which is tough when you don't know anyone in town.

Tasty Tuesdays! 2 dollar micro brews! Good clean tasting room and friendly staff. There are cool quotes and beer art and a clear view of all the brewing operations.

With the ongoing proliferation of brew-houses/micro brewery/restaurants opening in the Boise area, it's so nice to find a really choice one south of the 84 freeway. Now you don't have to get caught in the BoDo traffic mess to get great beer! I used to go to Brewforia (two blocks away) but their prices for selections on tap have climbed to the point of the ridiculous. Enter Slanted Rock Brewing Company with great tasting beer and an acceptable price point. Just in the nick-of-time!

First, I have to say, we are from Bend (Oregon), the self-proclaimed micro-beer capital of the entire world. We were passing through the Boise area on our way home from Moab and were thirsty. Google maps lead us to Slanted Rock because it was both close to the freeway and the patio is dog-friendly and we were so glad it did. The young man working the place was the absolute sweetest! Just a doll with the right amount of attentiveness. He knew his beers but also seemed to have the ability to read his clients. Without telling him my preferences, I asked what beer goes best with the fish n' chips from the food truck on their patio, and he brought me two samples - both of which were rather dark and delicious and rivaled any beer I've had in Oregon. The one I choose was the perfect match to the fish n' chips and he clearly steered me right. Hubby had the IPA and was also impressed with it. The dogs loved the water the server-man was kind enough to give them. If this place were in Bend, even with all the competition here, it would be one of our favorites. It just felt so comfortable and casual and had just the right mix of busy-ness. The food truck's prices were totally reasonable and their food was very good (and their waste was minimal). The beers and the service were simply as good as it can get AND the whole vibe was "you are absolutely welcome here".

Excellent beers all across, I like the Kölsch and Stouts the best! 2 dollar Tuesdays are great, better come early to get a spot. Sometimes the Kilted Cod food truck is there but I wish they would do something else too. Nothing special just like a goulash, chili or some cold cuts would earn you 5 stars easily!

This place never ceases to impress us. Great brews that change regularly, consistently friendly and happy servers, and a clean well decorated venue make this the perfect location to relax and have a few. They also let you bring in your own food (or have delivered)- which is awesome. Always looking forward to our next visit!!

Let me start by saying my rating is only about their planning, or lack there of. I think they have some of the best beer around! There IPA is awesome. But here is my issue or issues. When you only brew one IPA, and that is your only IPA, then make enough to last until you brew another batch. Tonight I went in to have a great IPA and they were out. When you only have one IPA you should NOT run out!!! Quit worrying about making your Saisons and get on the IPA's. Also, tell the guy who plays guitar and sings outside to turn the sound down a little. It was so loud we could even talk. It's a brewery patio, not Hannah's. And one other thing, find a food truck who stays open later than 7pm!
