We come to Lardo's every time we are in McCall. The good things about Lardo's are the Finger Steaks which are always delicious and the loaded Lardo's fries! They have good homemade soups too. The portions are gigantic as well. The only major downside of Lardo's is their prices are a bit high for equates to diner food. They also always seem to be understaffed so service can be spotty and slow. The servers always seem overwhelmed and often put out especially when the restaurant is busy. All in all its a good place for a bite to eat but be prepared for the hefty price tag and don't be in a hurry

Great down home atmosphere, chilled and laid-back. Nice decor. The spaghetti is amazing. Loaded Lardo fries have also become a favorite. Service was good too.

We drove up to McCall for a nice weekend before our baby is born. My husband and I decided to try Lardo's for the first time and we were not disappointed. Our server was very attentive and very nice. I had the double shot burger with tots and my husband had the spaguetti and meatballs since we like to share. His needed a little salt but the meatballs were delicious. Homemade. The burger exploded with flavor and was very satisfying. Great value and good food. Nice family atmosphere and fast service. Will definitely be back.

Well, I was hoping that perhaps I would be the exception to some other's reviews as would be able to help bring this restaurant back around. The funny thing is, if you ask locals where to go, many will tell you Lardo's. I even asked the front desk at my hotel and they told me they have never had a bad meal here. The best thing about Lardo's. Their loaded Lardo's fries. Those were pretty darn good! Smaller than I expected for an app, but yummy! I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad. Not because I was dying for a salad, but because it was really one of the only things on the menu that I could eat. Their menu is expansive, but really not flexible with modifications. I was so excited to try one of their many hamburger choices, but was out of luck when asked if they had gluten free hamburger buns. In fact, the waitress almost looked at me like "Really? Yeah, we don't do that here" Obviously she didn't really say that, but that is overall body language I got from the response to the question. Lots of sandwiches, burgers, pasta options .... All with Gluten . . . . so alas the Chicken Cobb it is. The salad itself was massive. I would suggest asking to leave off the sprouts, as they seemed a little dry. The chicken itself was cooked well, juicy and tender. It also had egg, bacon bits, blue cheese crumbles and overall was more than I could eat. Not bad, but I honestly also feel of all things a salad is really kind of hard to screw up. Service was okay. The restaurant really wasn't very busy, and our waitress seemed to take quite a bit of time between trips by our table. Maybe she was in charge of all the tables at that time. It was a Saturday night around 6pm, so you would think there would be quite a few people on staff. Overall, staff was friendly. Restaurant was clean. As with most places in McCall, lots of taxidermy on the walls. Kind of an eclectic mix of decor elements. Tons of old cash registers, which are kind of cool. I did not use the bathrooms, so I can't provide a report on those. All in all, just okay but not really anything super note worthy. Not sure I would return again. Well . . . especially if I no know the salad is really all I can order.

If you want a quick, filling meal, this is the place. I've had better meals for less money, so that was a bit of a disappointment, but overall I had a good experience and wouldn't mind eating here again.

Ordered a burger, description said a BBQ Burger with sautéed onions and American cheese, when it came, all it was was a thin patty with Kraft Singles cheese and raw cut up onions smothered in thin water-like Bbq sauce on a bun. Service was below average. Would not recommend.

Great service! Food very good. Cobb salad big and full of good stuff! Spaghetti home made. Double shot burger excellent. Prices very reasonable.

Still a good burger, cold tasty beer (Salmon River Brewing Shiver) and friendly, attentive, appreciative service. There is always a member of the owning family on site tending to business and it shows.

Can't expect much after the previous reviewers (which I only saw after the fact - thanks AT&T). Got a saute onion burger with a pint of fat tire. 16$ with tip. If that's too pricy for you, you're should skip McCall. The food was decent, the service was pleasant and over all an average experience. Didn't amaze me nor disappoint. My buddy was asking if they buy the fries frozen or cut them fresh - frozen. Idaho. There should be a law against that.

Didn't try the food, just came in for a beer and a football game. That said, they didn't give us any hassle for not ordering anything, were willing to seat us in the restaurant or the bar, and left us alone unless it looked like we needed something. What? Why would you want your waitress to leave you alone? How about, why would you want your waitress in your face every 5 minutes? No thank you, bub. Good place! Oh Snap! FREE WIFI!!!!!!!! Seriously, free. Freefreefree.

I have eaten here in 1998, 2004 and 2006 and had a good experience. But now the prices have gone way up and the service sucks! Don't get me started! Walk in the door to view a sign that says wait to be seated. We were ignored for over 5 min! Once we finally gave up and started to walk to a table, we were finally greeted. Don't get me started on the Crusty 1/4 $10.00 Hamburger I ordered medium rare! It was so overdone, that it was crunchy in my mouth! I will Never go back! And the whole town of McCall restaurants is so overpriced! Be sure to bring up your own good food and have a wonderful tailgate meal in the outback with wonderful views. You will have a better time! The town grocery stores seem to have a good value for being up in the mountains. So it won't cost you much to make your own good meals and have more fun.

At one time this place was supposed to be good. Very high prices for substandard food. Worst burger that I remember having.....service was equally poor. The absentee waitress was only attentive when it came time for the bill. She hovered until all the cash was laid out, Probably waiting to see what kind of tip she might receive.

I started going here back in the early to mid eighties with my friend (I was in the 1st or 2nd grade). His family had a condo at Tamarack Bay and we would boat across the lake to Shore Lodge for breakfast. We'd go to Lardo's for lunch and eat burgers while stuffing quarters into the Kung Fu Master arcade game. One of my best memories of growing up. My friend moved away not long after that and I hadn't been back to Lardo's since, even though we are frequently in the McCall area. I decided to give it a try again for old time's sake (sans the boat and $500K condo). I kinda wish I would have just kept it as a memory. At least the burger part. My son and I had the burgers (his was the BBQ and mine was the bacon cheese). I'm pretty sure the patty was frozen. It tasted like a school cafeteria burger and had the same texture. We weren't asked how we wanted it cooked. I told the waitress I wanted mine medium and my son wanted medium rare. She said ok. They both came out the same - no pink. That pretty much convinced me that they are precooked. The bacon was real and crispy and the veggies seemed pretty fresh. The GF ordered a salad that had chicken and a bunch of other toppings on it. She said it was really good. It was big enough to feed three comfortably. Lardo's touts their spaghetti on the wall outside the building. I'll try that next time we go. We won't be ordering the burgers again, especially at around $8 to $10 a pop. The decor probably hasn't changed since I was here in the 80's, but that's just fine for this local watering hole.

Good looking touristy spot. The food is filling but overall mediocre . Friendly staff that dealt with my large crazy family quite well. All food came out as ordered even with all the difficult modifications so I'm leaving with a full belly and ready todo sum fishing. Thanks lardo crew :)

Really good service and the food comes fast. A little to the higher price but the food is not too bad. I would go here of you don't know what food you want because they have a little bit of everything. Steak wasnt so bad and it comes with garlic bread, your choice of potato and soup or salad. Portion is generous.

Lardons has a great Bloody Mary! The pot roast is very tender and melts in your mouth. However all you taste is SALT. And as I was gulping water I noticed the fish [sculpture]? above me was adorned in cobwebs. On further inspection, all the cheesy decor had a good(BAD) layer of dust and cobwebs gracing them. Bottom line I would not recommend this place, apparently Idaho doesn't have a health department as locals have told me " only tourist eat at Lardos, but the drinks are great". Oh, service was very pleasant.

We were pleasantly pleased that at nearly 9pm we were warmly welcomed with a baby and good food. We had decent service and the food was great, home made spaghetti and salad dressings.

Split the ribeye. Just okay. Cooked to order. Tried my sister's steak sandwich, was delicious. Sat in their plant-filled patio, very inviting and comfortable. Rustic decor, with lots of antiques and overflowing barrels of flowers. Staff were friendly and accommodating with the kids. Liked the open spaced patio. Prices were high.

This place is one of my favorites since I've been coming to McCall, which has been for 4 years now. It's a great place to belly up to the bar and talk with the locals OR have a seat in the restaurant and enjoy the Americana fare. From burgers to steaks and old fashioned spaghetti, this place has something for everyone.

Ordered a patty melt which was too raw. My husband had to go and find the waitress to have her send it back to cook it further. She said they would make me a new one. What they did was cook the patty I bit a little bit more ( not much), re toast the bread which was much too crisp then & put it on a new plate MINUS the fries that were supposed to come with it. So no fries! Worse service I have ever had.

Good bar for locals and tourists. Cold beer, TVs with ESPN, and mostly friendly wait staff. Food is just okay. We have tried many items and sorry to say nothing stands out. On a recent visit the turkey sandwich was decent but the clam chowder and fish and chips were disappointing. The finger steaks used to be good so maybe if we go back I will give them a try.

Best garlic bread ever, period. Spaghetti isn't as good as they claim.

What a shame. Because of its great food and reasonable prices, Lardo's used to be a staple for us whenever we were in McCall, but it will be no longer. The prices have gone way up ($30 for a 14 oz prime rib, and an extra $2 if you want your baked potato loaded), and the portions have gotten much smaller. The food wasn't bad, but it's certainly not as good as I remember. And the service was mediocre at best. Prices comparable to The Mill + average food + honky-tonk bar atmosphere = 2 stars, and even that is a gift.

Isn't this place supposed to be a McCall staple? Ick. Bad food and slooooowww service. I'd skip it.
