Typical coffee shop but with WEIRD hours. It seems like every time we have tried to go there they have been closed; like in the middle of the afternoon or after dinner.

We stumbled in here reluctantly because Bistro 45 wouldn't serve us breakfast after 11:00 am; it was 11:07 :( I'm glad we found it. We had 3 kids breakfasts, a breakfast burrito, & a bowl of oatmeal. Fabulous start to our morning. Outside in the sunshine planning our day & eating some of the freshest food to power us up for another nonstop day in McCall. There is a reason this place is bustling. The food atmosphere and location are perfect! Moreover, the staff is friendly & accommodating. They made all sorts of substitutions to please our picky children! Homerun!!

If you don't have the kiddos or tourists the insist on going to the Pancake House you must go to the Foglifter!! The food is excellent and the prices are decent. There is outdoor seating also which has a great views of McCall life going on around you. The egg benedict dishes are delicious, the bagels are plentiful and coffee is great!!

Drinks are good. I got a lavender latte which was yummy, I had to ask for more lavender though. Breakfast was simple it was eggs with veggies on top.

My husband and I wanted to grab coffee and breakfast on our way out of town. We stopped here based on the reviews but it was not what we expected. Walking in is like any other coffee shop with a counter and dining room type area. We ordered our lattes and our food at the counter (not restaurant like at all). I had the black bean huevos rancheros and my husband had the denver scramble. My dish was delicious, the green salsa tasted fresh and homemade and the eggs were poached correctly. My husband's hashbrowns were dry and stringly but the scramble was good. Our lattes were very good as well. Pretty quick service as well. No wait staff, just people who bring your food and then bus your table but you will have to grab your silverware, napkins and sauces and find an open bench area to sit. Will be back for sure, now knowing what to expect.

Hands down our favorite breakfast place in McCall. They have the magic formula down, everything here is so good. We have a standard order (eggs Benedict and huevos rancheros) that is always delicious. Just tried an iced mocha too, fantastic. Only downside is that there isn't a Foglifter in Boise. Otherwise I'd have my favorite breakfast place in Boise too.

Coffee was good, was very crowded. Juevos rancheros was good but Benedict came with brown avocados. They replaced the plate.

A great place to stop for coffee in McCall. We first visited in January for afternoon coffee and hot chocolate during the winter festival. It was busy, but we found a seat outside and enjoyed our beverages. Was back this past weekend. No pancakes for the kids, but what we did order off the kids menu was large enough to split between 2 of 'em. The Denver scramble I ordered came to my table more like a Cobb salad, where the eater has to do all the scrambling. I received eggs with chopped ham, mushroom and peppers piled on top, and sliced avocado on the side. It came with fruit and potatoes and it all tasted fine; just was a bit off traditional. I like the location, the vibe, the atmosphere, the mini table for the kiddos, but this is a coffee shop trying to be a breakfast destination. Not too many breakfast options in McCall, so we may be back for more food, but I'm going to try to keep this stop to coffee only.

Cozy environment with a very relaxed atmosphere. We love coming for the breakfast burrito and a truly perfect Americano. Tried the eggs benedict and "wow"! Delicious, especially with avocado and bacon. Good menu selection and fair prices as the food quantity is filling. This is a "must visit" place when in McCall.

Scrambled eggs were lousy. Water glasses had white things floating in them. Toasted bread on sandwich came out burned. Bisque was watery. Plating was several steps below rustic on plates that were too small or too large for their contents. Tortilla on burrito was tough and crumbly at the same time. I'm sure other things were wrong and I've already forgotten. Couldn't do iced drinks because they were out of ice. There is a grocery store 2 blocks away that someone could have been sent to get ice from. I'm pretty sure the bland jarred salsa was from there.

Let me start off by saying that the atmosphere is amazing! I loved sitting inside and just relaxing for a minute on the couch while music played in the background. Coffee shops are my favorite for that. I will also mention that I did not try any of the food, although I hear it is pretty good! I had already had lunch and was looking for a coffee for an afternoon pick-me-up. Now...the coffee. I was actually very disappointed. I hate to call myself it, but I believe it's time to come to terms with my true identity. I am a coffee connoisseur. I was really in the mood for an iced coffee. They only had 1 size available. It was a 20oz. I never can finish a coffee that is more than 12oz and that's all I was really looking for. Their 20oz also came with two shots, which seems to be the average in McCall, but for the price is a complete rip off. The coffee also had a very strange aftertaste that was not pleasant. I am in the coffee industry myself, so I can say that there are many factors as to why my coffee did not taste well. It could have definitely just been my barista. I would have loved to have been offered more than one iced size and would have liked to have seen more shots or lower prices to compensate not having as many shots in the drinks. Also, better educated baristas would be nice. I know it's a small town and the nearest supply house is 150 miles away, but these are simple fixes.

There aren't a ton of brunch options in McCall so we ended up here twice during our recent trip. First meal was great...second was okay. I love that they do 1/2 or full portions of some items. The first meal I did a 1/2 order of the huevos rancheros which were great. The second time we ate there I did a 1/2 order of the eggs benedict (tomato and spinach) and they weren't stellar...was kicking myself for not going with the breakfast burrito. This place is BUSY since there aren't tons of options in town so don't expect your food to come out lightening fast. I don't drink coffee but my husband didn't have any complaints with his and being a Seattle native he does tend to be picky about all things coffee. Solid place to grab a casual AM bite and some caffeine.

My husband and I had breakfast here today and it lived up to the hype! We loved the vibe and the people were really friendly. I had the special - Prosciutto and Asparagus eggs benedict and really enjoyed it. We were lucky it wasn't a busy weekend, I could tell that it wouldn't be enough seating during the winter festival.

A great place to stop for coffee when in McCall. Nothing too special, but they have always served me decent coffee. The staff is also very friendly. I think they could definitely step it up a notch, and make it a really fun place to go.

The quality of the food and drinks are decent here but the price and the wait are definitely not worth it. I came with my family and waited well over 20 minutes for two bagels and scrambled eggs. I've been here before on the busier days and excused the slow service but when business is significantly slower there's absolutely no reason to take as long as it does. I don't think I will be back.

Recently came through McCall returning from a river trip. Some members of our group suggested this place as a good stop for breakfast in town. I wanted to order something quick so I ordered a slice of banana bread and 2 bagels. Nothing special, which should of taken 5 minutes or less to do. Well, it took at least 30 minutes to toast and spread cream cheese on 2 bagels. I consider this to be an act of poor service and logistics. Bagels are simple to make and shouldn't be placed in line with the prepared breakfast orders like eggs, and waffles. And the bagels were tiny! A better method would be to have toasters available for the customers to toast their own bagel. There's a very popular coffee house in my town (a much bigger lake town then McCall) that does just that and it works perfectly. If yo don't mind waiting around for ages for your food, then give this cafe a try.

Awesome little coffee shop just steps from the lake. Like some have said, it has a Portland-Seattle ish feel to it and features cool furniture, great views and friendly employees. The coffee is terrific, the food is also good and the overall vibe is fantastic. A must visit everytime I'm in McCall, I wish I could take it back to LA with me

I've been coming here for a long time, ever since i was 7 and live in cali, I would have to say this is probably my favorite coffee place i have been to, their coffee is to die for, I have never had to anything to my coffee when i receive it. I just visited an hour ago, and I find it funny that they call it the fogglifter, I was feeling a little down today so I treated myself to some tea and huckleberry danish, and i feel SO much better. the tea is delicious AND beautiful, I'm saving my danish for later :) the atmosphere is very calming during quieter times and the people who work there are extremely nice. Overall i have to say i wish I could replace the starbucks next to my house with the Fogglifter Cafe

A great coffee shop in downtown McCall. Good coffee, friendly service, and good food (especially the breakfast burritos). It can get a little crowded though.

Perfect portions, tasty hollandaise, great coffee. Home fries needed a little crust on them but tuat was the only thing missing. Big diverse breakfast menue! Cosy space.

Very good. Coffee was great and quickly served. The food was creative. I had the Indian style huevos rancheros which were good, but could have been more flavorful. The location was great, and tables were great. Was nice that we were served quickly.

Morning or afternoon it's the best coffee in town! Eggs Benedict is absolutely the tastiest I've ever had. Last time I was in, I ventured out to try the "east Indian huevos rancheros" and was pleasantly surprised that i loved it. What a unique flavor. Overall, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Stopped in for lunch, had a special (tuna melt) and a half sandwich and soup. The half sandwich was huge! The soup was awesome, tasted home made. Good value, good choice!

Stopped here this morning hoping for a quick, tasty breakfast. When we asked how long for a to-go order, we were informed that it would be 20-25 minutes to get a bagel and a muffin. Absolutely ridiculous. We had read such good reviews that we decided to give it a try anyway and figured if we had to wait we might as well order something off the full menu. Two breakfast burritos, one small maple bar and a single orange juice later, we had a $20 tab and a 30 minute wait for food I could have made better at home (minus the maple bar, it was pretty darn good but seriously overpriced). Definitely not worth the hype, price or wait.

Visited McCall about a year ago - man I miss that place! And part of that is the Fogglifter Cafe. I went there EVERY morning and was never disappointed. My lattes were perfect - I should have bought more whole beans before leaving town. But I also loved the eggs benedict and the heuvos rancheros for breakfast! I think I ordered one or the other every day I was there. Again - never disappointed. It has a cool ambiance, cool location and if you get a chance to eat outside in the morning sunshine, your morning will be damn-near perfect! Cheers!

This place was terrible! I get it that we went on the Saturday after 4th of July and they were super busy, but that is NO REASON for them to mess up every thing we ordered! And that was after we waited 30 minutes for a take out order! The only good thing about this place was their bacon. Their coffee was revolting...really bitter and a terrible taste. I will never go there again.

Hands down, the best cafe/breakfast spot in town! I frequently visit McCall, and I've been disappointed the last few visits to the Pancake House and other popular local spots. At Fogglifter, the straightforward menu doesn't disappoint. The coffee is dark and delicious, and the food options remind me a little bit of Goldy's in Boise. Everything about the ambiance, food, and coffee has been meticulously planned, and staff are friendly, helpful, and easy-going. Skip the better-known haunts and check this place out.

Excellent coffee. Great food. I've enjoyed breakfast burritos and a nice soup and sandwich combo. The sanny and the soup portions were a decent size too! Friendly staff.

I love this place! And I've loved it for years. Very comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff, good coffee, and reasonable prices. All this has made the foglifter part of my daily routine when I'm for my seasonal job.

I love the atmosphere here. It's bright in the morning, full of light, espresso brewing, people milling -- it's a perfect coffee stop. I usually come with a book or computer and savor a latte while I read or write. It's also full of local lore, hiking boots are used as decoration, historical McCall artifacts and lots of local people coming in for their usual etc...Come to Foglifter, you will not be disappointed.

A really nice coffee house. Big windows make this a very light place, or sit outside when the weather is right. Their poached egg and ham sandwich is great and only $3.50. One of the best things about Fogglifter is the fact that they get assorted pastries and cookies from the best bakery west of the Mississippi, Flight of Fancy in Donnelly. This convenience is most welcomed. Wi Fi, good coffee, good food, toys for the little ones. I look forward to visiting this great new cafe every time I am in town.

Not the best place for "full" breakfast. 2 scrambled eggs looked like 1 and tasted like powdered eggs at Holiday Inn. English muffin was warm, not toasted and two pieces of bacon tasted like leftovers from two days ago. Nice location, good cappuccino however. Probably fine for just coffee drinks but go someplace else for a real breakfast!

  • Jake G.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this cafe. First of all, it is extremely overpriced. A bottle of juice that would sell for 1.25$ at any other place costs 3.00$ here. Not to mention the fact that you're going to end up waiting 15 minutes if you order a coffee, and at least 20 minutes if you order food. The people at the counter are somewhat rude and the people in the kitchen have a lot of trouble keeping up with the orders due to the fact that they choose to stand around and talk to eachother instead of doing their job. The staff members are young and inexperienced, and in my opinion they really aren't ready to run a business.

Yay! Real coffee in McCall. Breakfast goodies and WiFi. This place will get you up and running for the day. Often crowded, but I always seem to find a spot and a newspaper. Orders get filled eventually. The people working here are not exactly helpful.

Great coffee spot right downtown! Free wifi, comfortable seating inside and out, good breakfasts- everything was great! 5 stars if the service was a little faster. 3rd St & Railroad right on the main strip through town

I spent several days in McCall this summer hiking in the local area. I stopped for breakfast my first morning and had Eggs Benedict and coffee. Both were amazing. I stopped here for breakfast each of the following two mornings while in McCall. Highly recommended.
