Excellent service formal without being pretentious- extensive wine list- the meal was excellent. We dined there with our children so it is relaxed enough for dining with kids however you will pay for an adult portion as this seems to be their main clientele. As to the meal itself: some of the appetizers were not available and were replaced with a few others that were seasonally appropriate as well as delicious. We ordered their asparagus and grilled shrimp soup which was outstanding - for main courses we had the fish of the day Halibut with kale and cheesy mashed potatoes -delicious- the fish was cooked just right and felt very fresh; the chicken encrusted on pecan although very flavorful and served with a cranberry orange compote was a bit on the dry side. Son ordered rack of lamb: two hefty little chops cooked on the rare side though ordered medium rare- son was thrilled nevertheless since it's better than overdone. One little thing was that it could use a better trimming of the fat cap but it's understandable. Hubby ordered crispy half duck-HUGE portion actually. The skin was not crispy as offered but again it was extremely flavorful and presented on a wine reduction with actual grapes and a wild rice pancakes- For dessert we ordered the naked stranger the flour less chocolate cake although it's not a cake really more a dense mass of dark chocolate on a pond of delicious berry wine reduction and accompanied by vanilla ice cream. Also ordered the bread pudding on a whiskey sauce reduction - it's is served piping hot!!! And it's to die for IMO!!! Very light density and crusty on the bottom - the raisins are on top so if you don't like them you can set them aside. All in all : agreed best meal so far in Ketchum!!! Will be back today for lunch:P!!! Pictures posted.

If you have ever been afraid to try duck or was turned off by your mom's version, this is the place for duck. Warning, you may want to half it with a friend so you can share the 'Delights of a Naked Stranger' desert.

Unbelievable food. Reasonable prices. They use local food sources for nearly every dish. I tried the pecan encrusted chicken, which was phenomenal. The location doesn't offer much seating, we walked up at 5:30pm and were able to get a reservation. During our stay, there was limited space available. The service was exceptional.

This place is fabulous! The food the wine the desert is all perfect. One of the best meals and experiences I have had in a very long time. Can't wait to take wifey here.

Way above the rest. You're paying for fine dining here and they deliver. We had the tamale on recommendation of others on yelp. It exceeded expectations. I had the duck, which was the best I've had since I had it at one of Emeril's restaurants in Florida. My wife had the chicken, but it was far from ordinary. You seriously can't go wrong here folks. We didn't drink and it still came to about $80 with tip and no dessert, but if you appreciate food that's worth the price tag go ahead and make this your "special occasion" place in Ketchum.

Love, love, love this place! The new owners have maintained the quality of food. Always a must when we visit Sun Valley every year!

I have had few occasions to write a 5-star review, but Vintage has earned it. I came here once on New Years Eve, and again on a quiet snowy Tuesday in April. On both visits, the food was exemplary: from the menu, to the presentation, to the close-your-eyes-and-moan-it's-so-good first bites. The restaurant seats 18, and is housed in a cozy pioneer era cabin. The wine list is decadent, featuring names like Chateau n'Yquem and Stags Leap. My most recent meal included Boston clam chowder, with clams so big and fresh they must harvest them in Wood River. The lamb rack was perfectly cooked, the potatoes given life with fennel and cream. Our dessert was the best flourless chocolate cake I have ever eaten, with a pecan crust and homemade coffee ice cream. My experience on NYE was similar-despite a fully booked house, no detail was spared. I could go on, but will instead insist that you make a reservation and try for yourself. Immediately. (But I'm serious about the reservation.)

On a pleasant summer evening the abiance of Vintage's outdoor garden seating is perhaps the nicest in the Sun Valley area. The menu has a somewhat limited range of offerings, a feature I generally find encouraging as it generally means these are the strongest offerings from this kitchen. The evening we dined the menu was augmented with quite a few specialties of the day. One of these we tried was 'smoked tomato with burrata'. The tomatoes were excellent, some of the sweetest and tastiest I've had in quite a while. The 'smoke' was a nice touch but was only really apparent on the red tomato. The yellow tomatoes were still very fine. And the burrata was a lucious creamy topping. The 'shouldn't-miss' items were reported to us by our server as the tamale starter, the duck and the chicken. We ordered all three. The tamale was presented as this huge corn husk package with shrimp 'exploding' from the top. The shrimp are seasoned with a tangy sauce and the whole tamale sits in a similar broth. The duck was nicely prepared, the meat being tender and flavorful. The shortcoming was the paucity of sauce. It was very nice, sweet but still savory fruit sauce. There was just not enough to pair with the amount of duck meat served. As for the chicken, it is nicely crusted (pecan I believe). My chicken was slightly overcooked, making it a tad dry. But the accompanying potatoes were outstanding. The wine list offers a nice selectin of half bottles which I often find ideal for a dining couple. Our service was congenial and efficient. The grilled peach dessert would have been very fine had the white peach itself been sweet. But when serving fresh fruit, it can be a roll of the dice.

The duck dinner is yummy! Wine was pleasant. I've scored only a 4 of 5 because service for a small (and expensive) restaurant could have been bumped up a notch. Perhaps short handed that night? I would give them a chance to make it up next time I travel there.--Still, thumbs up.

Where do I start. Small and to quiet. Could have used soft music. Went on Valentine's night with 6 people. Nothing special for occasion. Waitress was bothered when I asked her to tell me the scallop special. Scallops were under cooked and 2 tablespoons of couscous. Was size of most appetizers. There was no wine under 45.00 a bottle don't try to ask about the wines you may get sent to corner. The steak was tough and chewy. The only thing good was the Chicken and Ice Cream Balls. 6 people wine 2 deserts 500.00 That's criminal for dinner in a 1 room cabin Never will we return. Oh yes the waitress barely said thank you!!!!!

Incredible food, atmosphere, service and overall experience. We made a last minute reservation at Vintage for romantic birthday dinner on vacation to Ketchum. From start to finish we were very impressed. To eat, we had the shrimp tamale, crusted chicken and crispy duck. The tamales are possibly the best I've ever had, and came at the very strong recommendation by the owner. The duck was phenomenal and both dishes were large portions. We chose to sit outside which I would highly recommend if the weather permits. Great private tables with twinkle lights makes you feel in the middle of your own garden for a delicious meal.

Vintage is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. Rod is a soup genius! Every soup he makes is my new favorite. I love how the menu changes daily, but that some favorites (like the unabashedly-bowl-licking-good rock shrimp tamales) are permanent menu fixtures. Rod can also whip up an insanely delicious vegan plate with a cornucopia of amazing flavors. And then there is the Delights of The Naked Stranger with homemade ice cream for dessert. Don't ask-just order and enjoy. Book in advance during peak times, as there are only a few tables and they fill up.

Great little spot with a perfect wine selection, beer selection is lacking but beer probably isn't too high on their list. They have a 5 star menu and that included a burger. As a burger connoisseur I had to try it. They used a kind mix of beef, I recall top sirloin and rib eye with blue cheese. Again, the char was perfect and I'd have to say that they could take the top spot on my Sun Valley burger list if I got it medium rare and not medium. It wasn't red in the middle. They put together a perfect mix, the blue cheese couldn't have opened up the palate for the taste of the burger any better. I tried it with and without ketchup, go without and make sure you get cheese and burger in one bite. Delicioso!

Where do you start, do you start with the fact having outrageous prices doesn't make your food any better, or that Sysco really isn't a place where a restaurant that dubs its self as "nice" should get there produce from. Why don't you guys actually try something new, change up the inside and maybe think out of the box on your menu. It isn't hard to keep making something that you know is going to sell, and never changing it. But it is hard to do something new, something that you have never done before, something that actually takes talent. Theres no reason to call someone chief if your kitchen just works like a factory day in and day out, pumping out the same old stuff you always have.

We were very excited to try the vintage after reading all of the reviews. We walked very disappointed and amazed how poor the service and food was. Party of six and only two entrees were designated good. Wine selection is extensive but server couldn't tell you about half of them. We don't mind paying outrageous prices for food and drink if the service and food are worth it. The 2 stars are for the amazing asparagus and the deserts. Steaks were tough and scallops were under cooked. The Pecan Chicken was very good. I definitely would not recommend this establishment. Are entire party walked away in disappointment with the entire experience. Definitely wished we spent our money someplace else. It was a very expensive learning lesson that we won't do again.

As good as it gets! It was our 32nd Anniversary dinner. I won't share the table number, because it was the best table in the house and I want it to myself! Each course was unique in flavor and wonderful. As soon as we sat down, we were given a basket of home baked warm, soft in the middle, light crust topped bread. The waitress called the salad their signature salad, with unique flavors and beautifully presented. The main course of scallops for me and lamb for my husband were perfectly cooked and presented. Our small changes were made with a smile and perfectly done. The dessert, also a signature dessert, was perfect in every bite. Do not expect large portions, but do expect perfect food!

One of the best dinners I've had! The food was so fresh and well seasoned - absolutely delicious! Had the sweet corn and shrimp tamale to start, it was excellent. Not too heavy, very flavorful and the perfect size. For entree I had the pork special with fig balsamic glaze - incredible. Cooked perfectly, and again the perfect size. For Dessert we had the flour less chocolate cake, it was one of the most delicious desserts I've ever had. Adorable place with incredible food and wonderful service. If you're in Sun Valley, you've got to try this place!

Top 10 list! All 5 meals were amazing. The duck was out of this world as was the special crab stuffed trout. I am still not sure how they made grapes taste like apple pie. The service was amazing! The Vintage is a must, make your reservation in advance as there are only 7 tables in the historic cabin. Can't wait to go back.!!

My Eye of the Rib steak was terrific as was all the other food. The shrimp and sweet corn tamale appetizer was scrumptious! Great service too.

We were a little late calling in for reservations, so sat indoors instead of out. On a summer evening, the outdoor patio looks delightful. Inside the cabin was quiet and roomy. The waitress was exceptionally informative and friendly - very positive impression. She acted like it was her personal restaurant and the impression she gave of it was critical to our experience. We had crab cakes as an appetizer that were excellent. My wife had a daily special sea bass that was good with a very tasty sauce. I had a daily special "comfort plate" which was basically a sampler of several meats - pork, sausage, beef, chicken, spare rib. The chicken was ordinary but the rest was excellent and tasty. The chocolate pie dessert was to die for. HIGHLY recommended. In general, a little pricey, but it was our 25th anniversary dinner and we felt it was worth the price.

I had a great lunch here a few weeks ago and took my husband there on Friday for lunch. We were seated with menus and water. That was the last service we received. We left after waiting thirty minutes without a server or even an offer to take our drink order. Terrible service. Actually, no service.

Disappointing experience especially based on reviews. From the moment we arrived for our reserved time, I had doubts. We stood awhile before being greeted, then a very rushed young man asked us to wait while our table was set. That was ok... not a great start but I overlooked it. Unfortunately it didn't get better. Our waitress was rushed and short with us... always in a hurry to move on. Starters were good and my friends' entrees were good, but my chicken was shockingly undercooked. They comp'd the chicken and 2 desserts which was gracious, but combined with the poor service, I won't go back.

Great, tiny restaurant in Ketchum. Garden is great. Enjoyed pork tenderloin and corn tortilla soup. Others has crispy duck, fresh halibut, and great salads. Everyone delighted. Feels like a small and friendly club. Personalized service, great wines. Coming back next week! You should too. See you there!

I've been coming to Ketchum/Sun Valley for 20 years. In that time, there has never been a better restaurant in the area than Vintage. In fact, it's up there with some of the top restaurants in Seattle, New York, and elsewhere. It is not a place you will forget. Vintage is small, so make your reservations in advance. Somebody should order the shrimp tamale for a starter. Everything here is good. Don't miss it.

Fabulous food, creative and fresh, mostly local and organic, The chef combines SW flavors, a touch of cajun, with home style comfort food, all cooked to perfection. As locals to the area we definitely think this is the best restaurant the valley has to offer
