Been to Enoteca several times. Early on the food was good..but over time they've become a little full of themselves..my mother was there a few weeks back and she asked if they could split the dessert because she had a little cold and they said they would have to charge her for the spilt...give me a break...they are not kid friendly..a lot of families come to SV.. And maybe they want to bring their children to dinner....why can't they make their Mac and cheese without the peppers..not a big deal but they are never accommodating..! I can understand if your at French Laundry or maybe Per Se in NY the chef isn't going to change is menu...! Enoteca is no PerSe.

What can I say. Had my favorite again. Right on. Osso Bucco. Slight draw back. New pizza chef. A little off from the others with us. But still a don't miss!

Now THIS was delicious. After a long day of driving through the Sawtooths (or is it Sawteeth?), we landed at Enoteca for an early supper, no reservation. Everything on the menu sounded good, so it was tough choosing. Ultimately, we split the Panko-Crusted Idaho Trout and a wood-fired pizza with butternut squash, pancetta and arugula, drizzled with balsamic. Boy, did we choose well. The pizza was great (especially that perfect crust, yum), but the trout...man, that was a showstopper; now, reading through other reviews on Yelp, I see we're not the only members of its fan club. We were also impressed by the wine list, and enjoyed two glasses that were a perfect complement to our entrees. Since dinner was so delicious, we went for espressos and panna cotta, both of which were fantastic. Atmosphere also gets an A+ from me. If we ever have the pleasure of returning to Ketchum, we'll be back for another round or two of everything.

Since its opening in 2013 we have dined at Enoteca more than half a dozen times. But until now I haven't felt qualified to review the restaurant simply because we have both ordered the same dish every time. Their idaho trout has been that good. This last visit we sampled some other menu offerings and they have confirmed our high opinion of the place. Let's begin with their fabulous wood-oven pizzas. Hands down, Scott Mason makes the best pizzas in town. And I would venture to guess they would hold their own among the best in many an urban center. Connoisseurs judge a pizza first and foremost by its crust. It is here that Scott excels. It has that perfect combination of crunch and chewiness: no soggy centers here. And the topping ingredients are always fresh and first rate. Ordering a pizza to share as a starter is routine for us. Obviously we love the panko and herb-crusted Idaho trout. Prepared perfectly every time, the flavorful seasoning enhance the wonderfully fresh fish to create a delight for the taste buds. The duck confit was likewise exquisite, with meat moist and tender with a crunch crust. The marsala pan sauce was not too sweet, retaining its fine savory essence. The tasty pork osso buco fell off the bone and went well with the herb parmesan polenta. There is a fairly decent selection of wines by the glass. And the several bottles of wine we have had all were interesting and enjoyable and all were suggested by the very congenial wine captain. He also put us on to a remarkable IPA beer they have on tap. Can't recall the name, but it is the only tap beer they offer produced in San Diego. Enoteca ranks as our favorite dining spot in the Sun Valley area.

Recommended by a good friend. Food was excellent and had a great selection of wine. However, our evening turned unenjoyable because of the wait staff. They were generally unpleasant, particularly the manager who was very rude. We won't be back.

One of our favorites in Ketchum. The dining tables are small, but the food is good. Nice wine list. Service is great.

Great food, fun atmosphere, and a good beer and wine selection. Every time I come here, the food is fresh and unique. Anything from the specials to the pizzas, to the trout is wonderful. I don't usually order dessert but you can't miss Anne's desserts. YUM!

Great food, atmosphere, and service! Osso Buco was amazing and the desserts spectacular...go with the salted caramel panna cotta, you won't be dissapointed

Although very popular, I am not stunned with the menu. Fun place and active, but small portions and not filling..

...stunningly extraordinary...no need to even look at the menu...have your waiter handle it...pity they don't have a full bar...

Read a lot of good reviews about this place. Decided to try it out after an entire day at the skating rink (kids' competition). Had the Idaho trout and lamb chops. Best lamb chops I've had in a long time. And the trout, first time we've thoroughly enjoyed trout. Highly recommend this place! I'll definitely go there again at the next trip to Sun Valley.

Great food a nice place for dinner. One of my favorites in the area. Love the pizzas! Good wine list. Great atmosphere.

After hearing a lot of good stuff about the place, a friend and I decided to give it a shot. I was pretty impressed with the food, the beer and wine selection, the atmosphere, and the service. I had "The Mercantile" pizza, and my friend had the crusted trout. Both were so fabulous we found ourselves eating off each other's plates! My favorite part of the meal was the chocolate budino, which I scarfed down despite being full (no, I didn't share my dessert). The changes they've made with this place (the building space) are amazing. I've gotta applaud the rustic modern restaurant design. Looks great! Needless to say, I will definitely being going again to try out some of the other yummies on the menu. My only recommendation is to either go early or to make a reservation. We went at 5:30 and there were mostly empty tables, but that changed pretty quickly.

We've been here twice and had great meals both times. The Mac and cheese appetizer was great, the duck is incredible and my pork dish fell off the bone and was cooked perfectly. The prices were also reasonable with each entrée listed at $16. The only thing that I didn't love about this place was their lack of a full bar. However, they have an excellent wine list to make up for it.

One of my favorite local restaurants and I am a local. Never had a bad meal here in the atmosphere is fantastic

Although we couldn't get a reservation online, we walked in and they sat us immediately( it was 5:30). Excellent pizza, super fresh ingredients and our daughter loved watching the chef throw the pizza high into the air. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing. Loved the lamb sausage pizza, and the Caesar. The owner/manager was so welcoming and friendly. We will be back.

Awesome. Signature dish is the Idaho trout. Also we ordered the special, orange ruffy, and the lamb chop. The trout was fantastic as was the chop. For dessert, we had the chocolate boudini and that was excellent. Excellent meal and will definitely go back

We arrived at 4:55 PM hungry, supposedly they open at 5 PM we waited 10 minutes looked in the window and there were two hostesses staring right at us who refused to open the front door and chatted amongst themselves we went somewhere else for dinner.

Good food, great server named Vita, and I'm going back again. I also enjoyed the style of the restaurant.

We had a great experience. We were seated immediately with reservations, had excellent service and the food was terrific. Mercantile pizza, Mac & cheese appetizer and roasted chicken leg which was a special. We recommend this restaurant.

My wife, son and I love to eat here every chance we get. Their trout is fantastic and so are most items on the menu. The reason we come back repeatedly is because of the staff. Burke is personable and welcoming. He has a gift for remembering people and what they like. The rest of the staff have also been very friendly. I personally enjoy the ambience and mixed textures of the interior decor. Good selection of wine/beer. One of Ketchum's best.

Great Flatbreads, pizzas and selection of farm to table complimented by their fine selection of wine and beer.

A few locals recommended we try Enoteca as Rickshaw was closed for mud season. We were thrilled to be seated in a corner window booth, especially as we had a 6 year old in tow. Great cheese plate, flatbread pizza was delicious, would go back for the bacon wrapped dates. Nice staff and great modern industrial decor.

The food was good, the ambiance was nice and the wine list was probably the best we had in Sun Valley, however there were a few quarks which kept it from being worthy of 5-stars. The first thing is that they had no cocktails and no soft drinks, juices or tea (for one of our non-alcohol drinkers)...so what do they serve kids when families come in? I assume just water as our designated driver. The second thing is that they were touted for their lamb chops, but when if arrived, it was the smallest lamb chops I had seen in my life! Maybe we just got one of the last ones, who knows. The pork chop was a good size and was delicious, as were the burrata appetizer and bacon-wrapped dates appetizer. Overall very good, especially for Sun Valley.

Food here actually has taste and the old people on no salt diets and soft food still come. Lots of home made touches - ice cream for one. Great menu items and variety. Best ambience in Ketchum (especially since SV Co destroyed Lodge dining room). You won't be disappointed.

We will always come here when in Ketchum. Last year was out first visit and I feel they improved even more this year. Amazing food and a must visit if in town. For sure our favorite!

Our family enjoyed Christmas Eve dinner at this wonderful place. The food was superb. I had the lamb, as did Kirsten and it was out of this world good. The restaurant has only been open for a couple of weeks, and the night we were there gave evidence that the staff is still getting its game together. No big problems; just stuff like the hosting staff being uncertain, forgetting to bring the sugar with espresso, little things that will get worked out as time goes on. So, I give it four stars, but by the time you visit Enoteca, you'll probably give it five. Next trip to Sun Valley, we're going back here!

Okay, we are regulars, because everything about the place and the people are great, but tonight there was a special: One puffy cheese Raviolo, resting atop an incredibly savory bowl of slow simmered Idaho lamb stew. It was the very best thing I have ever eaten in this very casual, but somehow elegant Ketchum restaurant. My wife always orders Mama's Salad and Idaho Trout, and is never disappointed, but I free range. Burke, the bar manager, waited on us humorously and most efficiently. If you go in high season, reserve days ahead for a reservation on Open Table or by calling. In off season, just walk in and hope for a table. The house wines are wonderful, the local management and staff, the best. You will love this place. BTW, they also own The Ketchum Grill, which is smaller, but equally wonderful! *****

We chose Enoteca on the advice of a friend and enjoyed the experience. Nicely designed rustic-modern interior. Even though our table wasn't ready for us when we arrived, the staff kept us posted ("The check has been delivered...") and brought us drinks while we waited. Our waiter was very helpful with a wine selection to complement our meals. I did wish he'd steered us away from the Brussels sprout side dish we ordered: a sort of roasted Brussels sprout slaw. Not terrible, just not what we expected. My Idaho trout was perfect and my husband's panned chicken was flavorful and moist -- more than lived up to the waiter's recommendation. Having started with a cheese selection, we opted out of dessert, but it looked like they had some good offerings. All in all, an excellent choice for a nice dinner out in Ketchum. Fine food and wine, top notch service, without the fuss of the old school white tablecloth outfits.

The ambiance is great! Low lighting, good location, and quiet. Wine was good. Good was great. Enjoyed Stratega Woodfire Pizza and the trout. Both were fantastic. Prices were fair. Would visit next time I pass through.

We came here with another couple. The lamb ragu linguine was great and hit the spot. The best wine list I'd seen in ketchum. Great atmosphere, nice to have a chance to clean up a bit :) our waitress was great once she got to us, but there may have been a bit of mis communication between her and the hostess, and took them a while to get us the menus. Would go back

First of all, what a cool space. This restaurant is small but does not feel restrictive and the decor is very interesting and inviting. They have a good beer list with some local stuff on tap which I always enjoy. Our group had some of the small bites and some of the full size plates. The special shrimp pasta was not a favorite, but the other things including bacon wrapped dates, trout, and chicken dishes were a huge hit. I do not visit this area very often, but I would return to Enoteca.

We had a great meal. We let the chef cook for us and he prepared a great meal. Highlights were house cured meats, burrata and flatbread and elk. Service was great and we enjoyed the wine list--a nice Italian focus, but plenty of domestic wines too. The final tab was a nice surprise--amazing value.

We dropped in for an early dinner around 5PM. Very attractive room. The restaurant was empty but the host had a difficult time finding a table for us. He hoped we would just sit at the bar and order dinner there. Ended up at a table near the door. The wine list by the glass was excellent...nice Cristom Pinot. My husband tried a local Idaho beer and was happy with it as well. We ordered a salad. It was a chunk of romaine lettuce with a ribbon of creamy dressing and one small sun dried tomato...no flavor and probably one of the worst salads I have had in a long time. Next we ordered two pizzas. Very bland... Our waitress however was very good...nice, considerate service. Wanted to like this place but cannot recommend it. There are better options in Ketchum.

Service is choppy but the food is good. If they ever get their service act together I'd bump it up. Clearly regulars get preference and better service. If you walk in without a reservation they will undoubtably try to seat you at the bar even if the place is empty so make a reservation. Although you will get better service at the bar. Update 11-30-14...service has improved and their food is very good. Make reservations a couple of days in advance to make sure you get a table

Came here for New Years Eve-they'd only been open for 10 days. I cannot express enough the exceptional service. And the food! We ordered the lamb chops, loved it so much, ordered it again!! Every person was attentive, not overbearing...including the tables next to us. We engaged in great conversation with total strangers! Each aspect of this meal made the night very special. Definitely recommended!

The food was incredible! We had the duck conifit with risotto and the pork Osso bucco. Wonderful! Service was indifferent with an occasional drive by " how is it?" Go anyway, best meal we have had in Ketchum in a while and priced very well. Good value and what a meal. For desert try the blood orange , buttermilk panda cotta.

Average at best! We have now gone twice and not impressed. The only good things to eat are the flatbread ($4 - bread not included with dinner) and burrata cheese. The pizzas are doughy and tasteless. We have tried the spicy Coppa (no spicy) came with minimal Coppa and no spice mostly tomato sauce and the lamb sausage pizza - ok. The pizza are served on regular plates thin in the middle then thick dough - yuck. If you want pizza the best place is Cristina's. Next time we tried the duck confit - came with risotto that was like white pasty rice and the veggie lasagna which came with cauliflower gratin - wield combo and both tasteless - couldn't eat it and I love to eat. It's popular for priced well however portions are small and food is average. Another thing - menu is weird - Mac and cheese as a starter that takes 20 minutes. Who serves cauliflower gratin with lasagna. They market their pizza oven however offer 4 pizzas, can't make your own and they have no clue how to make a pizza. We were excited for a pizza wine bar but they failed - better places in town.

The bartender was very nice and attentive. The food was good but not overly inspiring. The Brussel sprouts were great (minus bacon) and the Gorgonzola pear pizza was good but not enough for two people to share.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
