This place holds a special memory for us, as we met in this place about a year ago. Decided to come and watch the Boise st game and eat some dinner. I ordered the turkey burger with some fries, overall very tasty but it was a bit salty. We also ordered the club sandwich with chips and salsa and it was delicious. You could tell they used quality bacon and can easily taste the herbs. Very good balance of ingredients. I also got the old Rasputin on nitro which was very boozy. Also tried the moosedrool and was in love with this beer. Overall very good service for a Friday night, def will come back!!

Cool bar, it's definitely a sports bar first and a restaurant second. They do have some good options on their menu but the real winner here is the beer selection. The list frequently changes and they do have featured brewers sometimes. I enjoyed my turkey burger and the rosemary fries were really delicious. Perfectly crispy and seasoned. The coleslaw had a hint of spice I can't quite put my finger on, it was something unique. The guacamole was very thick and chunky, very basic and fresh but nothing super special about it. I like my guac with a little kick, some chopped onion, jalapeño and salt but this was pretty much just avocado that was decorated with some chopped tomatoes and cilantro on top.

I'm definitely a fan of the Taphouse. They have a sizable beer menu, including sour beers (my fave)! Their flights are pretty cheap, so I like to go and sample a few different beers. I came and got a $2 mimosa after going to the Farmer's market last weekend. I have yet to eat here, but I definitely want to come for brunch in the future because their menu looked great! The atmosphere is definitely sports bar-ish and casual, nothing too special, but a nice place to have a low-key afternoon watching a game.

I've been here twice, hubby three times. Wound up here on a Sat. night during the holiday season because every other place in town we wanted to get a sit down dinner was packed and there was a 30 min. wait. But this night there was plenty of room at Taphouse and we remembered the food was pretty good. I rarely drink beer and hubs is a whiskey guy so it might be rather strange that we end up at places known for carrying a good variety of brews so we can't comment on that. Other reviewers take up that slack, though. :-) We shared the Bacon & Pear Bruschetta that was quite exquisite in taste. Only recommendation would be to crisp up the crostini some and serve it a tad warmer. Otherwise, excellent! Husband gave thumbs up to the Tin Shed Turkey sandwich, and Mom loved the Veggie Panini. The Rosemary fries are thinly cut and perfectly seasoned. I had the Blackened Salmon Salad which was decent, not particularly remarkable. Service was good, though we did need to draw attention to water & soda refills which were taken care of promptly.

Lots of TV's for the games. Great beer selections, out of a few today. Very fun atmosphere.

Great selection of beer! Staff knows what they are talking about (at least when I went they did). When I go into a place called Taphouse I expect the beer to be exceptional and the knowledge to be key and both of these were true about this place. The food was average but if I want to eat I'm not going to a place named Taphouse or anything else that should specialize in beer or alcohol, just my 2 cents. Really nice to have another place to drink craft beer downtown besides Bittercreek as much as I like that place. When I come back to Boise this will definitely be on my must stop at list... probably a couple of times

Came here Saturday to watch games. It is the perfect spot for that!!! The beer list is impressive. I enjoyed two glasses of the Summer Solstice it was delicious. The server was Very knowledgable about the beers and the food. He' was very efficient, but friendly enough. I ordered the bruschetta. It was AMAZING. You have to try it. Bathrooms are nice and clean. This is a great spot for food &/or beer! Great addition to downtown. We will def. be back!!!

Pretty good beer selection. Plenty of big screen TVs to watch the game. Food is adequate. Service is good. Prices are comparable. Overall, nice, clean place to enjoy a brewski watching the game.

Went with a group of 7 last night. I don't think any member of our party enjoyed their experience. My first glass of wine had a fairly disgusting looking short curly hair floating around in it. It took the waitress at least 20 minutes to return to our table after delivering our first round of drinks, which left me staring at the 'mystery hair'. After receiving my new hair free glass of wine we ordered our meals. Three people ordered the pulled pork nachos, two could barely eat any of them because there were so many jalapeños it made it nearly un-edible! And the third, me, ordered it without the jalapeños and was therefore given barely any other toppings, and there were still small bits of jalapeños throughout my nachos. Three members of our party ordered burgers, two said their burgers were barely mediocre and the third's, after asking for well-done, was just shy of mooing. He took one bite and had to excuse himself to the restroom to dispose of the raw meet in his mouth. He very politely asked the waitress if he could have his burger cooked a little more, her response was "It's the meat we use, it's supposed to look like that!". The 7th member of our party ordered a build your own chicken sandwich. He also sad his sandwich was just barely mediocre. The waitress did nothing to try to amend any of the issues, except for bringing me a new glass of wine. The only positive response from our table was that the beer and wine was good.... None of the seven of us will be returning or recommending The Taphouse to our friends. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

Love their selection on beer! It was insane how many they had! We also tried their Guacamole with chips. A little too spicy for me, but it wasn't bad. I've certainly have had worse. Atmosphere was as expected for a downtown location. No real "WOW" factor..but nice enough where I can see lots of people coming for the weekend. It's definitely a place to go if you want to try a huge selection of beer! I'll go back for sure! Reason for 4 stars: No "WOW'' factor

One of our common stops, this is a great place for a beer or a meal. The beer selection is large and varied (although generally too cold). Beers are generously poured and well priced. Never mind that place around the corner where a beer is $8, here you can get the same beer for $4.50 or less. Try the Rosemary fries... they're fantastic. The only real quibble is that it can get tough to find a seat sometimes. Sometimes it's just packed. Service can sometimes be a bit slow but for the most part that only happens when it's very busy.

The food was good but nothing spectacular. The TVs were awesome and had a great variety of sports on. The location is great and they had amazing deals on mimosas and Bloody Mary's. They have a large beer selection which is awesome. The atmosphere is laid back and welcoming and a big crowd for drinks and games. The jalapeño poppers aren't poppers, it's a dip with chips. The service was awful- don't sit anywhere that isn't in the dead middle or you might get ignored like us. Our waters were not filled once and we were never checked on which typically isn't that big of a deal to me, but it was crazy how we were seemingly meaningless to our waiter. Overall I would come back but not for food. It's a good place to watch a big game and grab a drink, but that's all I would suggest here for.

Fun atmosphere, fresh food! Stopped in here for a quick drink with friends before our dinner reservations at another location. The service was great, the drinks were cold, and the guacamole we had was fresh and flavorful. We weren't able to stay long, but we definitely come back when we can have drinks and dinner here.

My friend and I had run a marathon in the morning and boy were we hungry! This was our second stop on our post-race pub crawl. There were TV's all along the walls of the restaurant. I constructed a nice little beer flight (Hopnoxious, Mucho Take It Easy, Outlaw, Leafer Madness). I also had their fish tacos. Not bad. This would be a great place to come watch a game while having a few drinks and some pretty decent bar food. They also had some outside seating which would be perfect for when the weather is nice.

Valentine's night 2015. This was our first stop since we were killing time until our dinner reservation later on. My wife is not a beer drinker, so thankfully they offer up wine and cocktails as alternatives! I can honestly say we only had the Buffalo Chicken Dip as an appetizer while my wife enjoyed a cilantro margarita and I enjoyed some flights of various local beers I had not had before. However, service was prompt and plenty and very pleasing. I could see how this could be a noisier place on certain nights of sporting events. But, that is to be expected in a sports bar and grill and there should be no room to complain on that premiss alone. We do plan on coming back to actually eat here as the food we seen going by us looked very appetizing. I didn't count the beer choices, but as someone else mentioned, it had to be more than 40!

  • Dustin K.

Good food, great beer selection and friendly service. We had the buffalo chicken sandwich and the fish tacos -- both excellent. Fries are solid as well. Many, many local brews. Especially local specialties that you can't find everywhere in town. Our server was very friendly. Also -- TV's everywhere. Think of this as a sports bar with great food and beer.

The food here is a great and they have a wide selection of beer, wine and house cocktails. All of their food is local, homemade and awesome. They have 44 beers on tap and rotate the taps at least once a week (so there's always something for everyone). Great location. Definitely worth the visit!

Brought a friend from out of town here last night because he loves beer and they have a pretty good selection on draught. It was a dismal experience from beginning to end - a complete 180 from my last visit. To begin with, staff was too busy standing around chatting to acknowledge that we might need menus and water. Staring/flagging them down eventually worked. We ordered dinner, the salmon salad for myself. Halfway into my salad and 3/4 into my salmon it turns out the fillet was on a bloodline and it bled. All over my plate and salad. I thought to myself that since I was well sated and finished off a large portion of my salad I wouldn't make a huge stink about it, but I WOULD point it out so someone else doesn't end up with bloody salmon. Any establishment with decent customer service would offer SOMETHING. A heartfelt apology for bleeding salmon on my plate would have sufficed. But nothing. Our waitress's utter ineptitude was shocking. My friend would not let me tip less than 15% (or take a photo of the bloody salmon) because he's a stupid hippie/lefty lawyer, however, arguing that waiters/waitresses make a tough living as it is. I obliged, because I tend to agree (another reason i didn't want to be an a$$**** about the bloody salmon to begin with). I regret this decision. I wish I'd made a stink about being traumatized by bloody salmon.

Had 2 Firestone Walker Pilsner and the fish tacos. The beer was nice and not too hoppy and fish tacos were really fresh with crunchy veggies and a good amount of haddock. Service was attentive, friendly and quick. I'llcome back for sure and try more!

Rotating taps and ENORMOUS beer selection! Food is well above average and several TVs to watch games.

Menu options galore. Love the good beer selection. Small size for a Taphouse....probably because it's downtown. Great better beer bar!

First time here, one of the best fish tacos I've ever had....good beer as well. Our server, Tori was delightful.

Let me start off by saying that this was set to be a solid 4 star review. Went for a place to sit outdoors but when we got there the outdoor seating was full. Sat inside for a but and service was prompt. Soon a table opened and we moved outside. It was ridiculously noisy inside due to being a Friday night and games being on. Once outside though, the ambiance was nice and the same waitress stayed with us. There is a decent beer selection, a few strange cocktails and an okay selection of bar food.... burgers, wing, sandwiches.... and what??? Prime rib :) Our table ordered a variety, and everything was super tasty. The burgers are hearty and a good size, 12 boneless wings are huge, prime rib is a sizable cut but a little undercooked (the au ju is too peppery) and the turkey sandwich plate was stellar. At the end though a waiter came out and was down right mean, accusing us of being told not to smoke and continuing to do so. He was menacing and accusatory, then have a half hearted apology when we told him no one had said anything and that we had not all been smoking. The fact is, I was putting mine out and we were in a corner away from people. Before we moved, I'd told the waitress there were smokers. I didn't even know you can't smoke outside in Boise, my bad. I had something similar but not as bad at solid about smoking so perhaps its s city rule. However, beyond that the guy was MEAN he all but yelled at us. His voice was raised, other patrons looked our way, and he accused us as though we had intentionally broke the rules. There was no need for the aggression and my night, after spending 60.00 was wasted. I don't have money for that! Its not often I can go out and he ruined my night. I tried to call later to speak to a manager and it was so loud that he couldn't hear me, or so he said. . . Then the phone disconnected ... how convenient!

This restaurant has very quickly replaced The RAM for my favorite bar-food in Boise. But, let's start with the bad first. Every time I've been to The Taphouse, the service has been atrocious. Waitstaff takes eons to acknowledge new patrons, and when you do order new drinks, they take a long time to get to you. I would understand if they hustled and attempted to treat customers like priorities, but that is not the case. As you can tell, I've never been satisfied by that aspect at this location. However, the food is PHENOMENAL. I've enjoyed every form of burger that they offer (Kobe, chicken, and turkey). The build-your-own burger is delicious. My mom and I went for her birthday, and the chicken was perfectly seasoned and topped with a tasty garlic aioli. The fries are delicious, especially the sweet potato fries which are served with a maple sauce. Superb. I have also ordered the pulled-pork which was not my favorite. Asked for a side of barbecue sauce, and it amped up the flavor. Don't have your heart set on a beer, as it seems they run out of selections quite frequently. BUT, they do have a weekly beer list. Above all, it's a GREAT place to watch a game and will satisfy your palate. A must visit in my book.

Tap house has great customer service and obviously a great beer selection. My favorite menu item is the strawberry feta salad, simple but delicious!

Taphouse, pub and eatery should change their name to just Taphouse, pub. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed during the day. Plenty of TVs showing sports and music playing the background. The wait staff is polite and knowledgeable about their beers. They have a nice selection of beers. The one thing that was not good was the food, at least the main entrees were not. My wife had the Fresh Roasted Veggie Panini and she kept adding salt to her sandwich. There was no flavor to the sandwich. The same thing with my Turkey Burger. There was more flavor in the roasted red peppers than in the burger itself. I would not recommend going here for food why I suggested the name change. The food does not fit the prices they ask for them. It tasted as the veggies where frozen, thawed, cooked, and served. No seasoning and no fresh taste that veggies have. Turkey burgers can be delicious, but it needs to be seasoned correctly and the condiments should never be more aggressive than the meat. I will not be returning here for the food. And there is nothing that really draws me back that I cannot find elsewhere in Boise.

One of the most extensive tap lists I've seen in a city of this size. As I sat down at the bar the tender was quite informative and let me sample a couple of brews until I found my soul-ale. I settled on one of the local Porters which was jim-dandy. I then had a Monk's Blood from 21st amendment which was off the goddamn chain. I really hope these guys do well because everyone there was super friendly

I'm not sure this place hits the radar of many for "good food." It SHOULD! Salads- fresh, creative, spot on. Burgers- (in my husband's words) good. - that's a solid compliment. He adds on- I like pepper on the fries. My Buffalo Chicken sandwich is still leaving a mouth tingling burn. In a good way. Highly recommend. Oh! I almost forgot-- they have AMAZING BEER!!

I already thought very highly of Taphouse, but they found a way to go up even higher in my book. I attribute it to a previously unknown category known as "Clutch Factor". I was at the Egyptian attending an event and had already purchased the one theater beer I said I'd get. It was fairly expensive and wasn't even a beer I was particularly fond of, but I just got it to show my support for the venue and presenters. By the time intermission came, my theater:beer ratio was already tragically skewed. I decided to step outside and get some fresh air when I noticed Taphouse. I managed to stroll next door and get an 11.25% glass of deliciousness and a JD sidecar for a price much more favorable that the theater beer. In matter of minutes, I returned to the theater in much better spirits having restored order to my theater:beer ratio. Heck, the intermission was so long that I didn't even miss anything! Lucky me. Anyway, the Taphouse has great brews, wine, meals and snacks, and the prices are totally reasonable. The Taphouse has your back.

This place expressed the definition of pub and grill. Super friendly staff, quick service and quality food. We had lunch, pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries very good. However, you have got to try their regular fries and the maple butter dipping sauce. Wow they were really good. Of course when your at a pub your better have a beer, no surprise there's a lot to choose from. So when your in downtown Boise Idaho stop in, you shouldn't be disappointed.

Oh its a sports bar..... Sports bar not, a Taphouse. Bitter Creek is just down the block with better food anda better beer selection. This place screams out to the "bro" crowd and shuns the educated beer drinker. The bar tender who served me had little knowledge of the beer on tap. At least this place will draw the bros off of Bitter Creek.

  • Steven N.

Yes, there are many taps! However, they are mostly Widmer or Sockeye. Not bad breweries just would hope for a wider variety of breweries. The kids ordered the wings and they were average at best, both in quantity and taste. Happy hour downtown has too many options to return here.

This is my #1 pick for a sports bar in Boise. My coworkers and I have been searching high and low for a place that had (1) nice TV's, (2) a good beer selection that was reasonably priced, and (3) good food. This is it. They have huge flat screens covering most walls. There is pretty ample seating if you get there early (before 5pm) although it is pretty packed later in the evenings. The food is also surprisingly delicious for what seems like just a regular bar. Their burger is now my favorite in Boise. The grilled veggie panini is also great. Their beer list is sufficient with choices ranging from PBR-high end. Pitchers are pretty cheap. This also seems to be a good place to mingle with other young professionals. As to service, I will say I have experienced bad service here from time to time. There are a couple of waitresses who are pretty clueless. I've also had great service, though, so I can't say that there is a problem with customer service. Overall, this is a great place.

Watched the 49niners game here yesterday. I was impressed with the food and service. I almost forgot they had something like 45 beers on tap.
