Delish! Fun new way to get ice cream in the flavor you want with the add-ins that you want. AND it's made with liquid nitrogen right in front of your eyes! Smiley fun staff with helpful and yummy suggestions. I had a raspberry coconut ice cream with chocolate shavings and almond bits. Tasted like a raspberry cordial chocolate bar.

Was not a fan. This place uses soft serv mix and artificial flavor add ons. When you have the ability to freeze ice cream instantly you should really make it a WOW factor. Use fresh in house made ice cream mix and fruits and sauces. Great idea but bad execution. Sorry guys.

This is my first time to this ice cream shop. I found the way they made ice cream very entertaining. They take the ingredients for ice cream any metal bowl and then pour liquid nitrogen into it. This causes those ingredients Defriese and make ice cream within about 2 to 3 minutes. There are several bases you can use like cream rice soy milk. I use the rice milk and it came out like a sorbet. I felt the price was too high. However, the place was packed and people lined up to try old-fashioned treat made a unique way.

Avoid. Terrible icecream texture and flavor. Teens with poor hygiene serving.

My husband and my experience was horrible. First of all the I wouldn't even call it ice cream. Mine was more like a snow cone without flavor. I'm usually so laid back and not picky but I just couldn't eat it. So I decide to order another one with the premium cream and as I was ordering the owner lady asked what was wrong with my first one. I was very nice but honest she asked if she could try to make it better and then she found out the employee forgot a ingredient. I tried it and still was sick. Got my other one made which I paid full price for and it was creamer looking but hard as a rock and didn't taste creamy or like ice cream. My husbands was so so. I would never recommend anyone to go there and after reading review I wish we would have saved our time and money. I have heard from others the consistency is never the same.

Friendly Service, pricey ice cream. We love ice cream at our house. But this just not good ice cream. Fun to watch them make it so go once. But we won't be back, as it just was not that good. One review said better then Coldstone, I'll stick with Coldstone.

I thought this place was great! The concept is cool and it works. The staff was friendly and helpful and the end product was delicious. You get a dense, smooth ice cream that is so good. Much better than the sticky goo you get from cold stone.

Neato concept, but not really ice cream. They add your ingredients, then blast it with liquid nitrogen to freeze it. Cold, smoky, exhaust shoots everywhere for a cool effect, but the product tastes like freezer burned frozen yogurt. Owner got his degree in Chemistry, perhaps he should let ice cream be ice cream and go on to save the world from us non-mormons.

Having been here many times, I thought it was finally time to write a review. While the service is usually good and the flavor options is mind-boggling, the product itself is extremely inconsistent. I've ordered the same thing a number of times. The first time I got it, it was awesome. The second time it tasted like freezer burned peanuts. The third time, it wasn't mixed very well so it mostly tasted like bad vanilla ice cream. Bottom line: try it if you must, but don't expect repeatable results on subsequent trips.

For one of the few occasions I want ice cream and I was let down. Sub Zero is kind of like a cold stone slash coffee shop mixed together, but they throw all your ingridents in a bowl and add liquid nitrogen to make your "ice cream". On the back wall are your many, many, (too) many options. You can get low-fat, fro yo, premium, and half and half. The syrup list is a mile long, and then they display what you can mix in like Cold Stone. I wanted to know if it was just milk, or a pre-made mix that my "ice cream" was made of, and the kid just kept saying "yeah". So finally, I slowly got my answer, it's a pre-made mix, with lots of gross additives. Whatever, I have to see how it works and tastes so I choose, low fat, with the white chocolate flavoring (thy syrup stuff you see at coffee shops is what it looks like they use to flavor) and rasberry as my item. After the show, I got my "ice cream", and it was gross! Chunky, super sweet, nothing natural, and odd flavor. I won't be back. Kids would want to go since they really don't care about quality, but I don't have kids, and if I did, they wouldn't get to go here, not a natural indgrident in the house.

Although the bad reviews made me wary, I was excited to try Sub Zero ice cream for the first time a while ago and it was delicious. I've been back multiple times since then and still haven't gotten a bad flavor or that 'freezer burned' taste I'd read about. I've tried many flavors/combinations and sampled lots of friend's flavors and they all rocked. The price is another great factor- really good. And I've never had bad service. They gave us a punch card so we'll definitely be back.

I took my son to Sub Zero Ice Cream in Boise for their opening week. It was the perfect combination with Five Guys Burgers right next door (at Milwaukee and Fairview). I had never been to either one and it was a fun and relaxing family evening out. The service at Sub Zero was great! They carefully took the time to explain the process and preparation to us. Really unique and we loved it! I had the raspberry and sweet chocolate with berry mix. My son had pure strawberry...YUM! We'll be back (many times). Highly recommend!
