Hey this is a really great place. I especially recommend it if you're a business traveler, and you happen to be in Boise for an evening by yourself. Head into the RAM, grab a beer, watch some sports, and eat some great food. I had a big ol steak sandwich that was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere here is fun and will lighten you up after a hard day's work.

First visit to RAM in Boise,ID enjoyed meal. Had the Mile high mud pie for dessert... Yummy...yes I finished it all. Server was very pleasant. Will go again when back in Idaho.

Came here with an out-of-town friend to watch some football and grab some drinks before meeting up with other friends for dinner. My brain was not functioning super well that day (long story short - don't break up with your gf of 1.5 years with a text message), however with the expert guidance of our server Panda (hard name to forget), we were steered into getting a pitcher of beer and some wings. Talk about a deal you cannot beat! The pitcher was 5.99.. you couldn't get two pints for that. So even though we didn't drink it all, it was well worth it. As for the wings, we ordered your standard traditional buffalo wings, however the kitchen had run out so we ended up with the boneless instead. They were good but a bit spicy for my palate. I'm a bit of a wimp, I admit. Plus I wasn't feeling super hungry and I'm sure that contributed. I had not realized that it was a chain until I got there and figured out I had been to the one in Seattle. Sports bar atmosphere, pub food. I try to eat generally healthy so I'm not sure I'd make a major effort to go back - unless it was game day. Then bring on the pitcher.

This is a large restaurant that always seems to have ample seating and TVs for watching sporting events. Even during major sporting events, you should be able to be seated immediately and have a good view of one of the many large TVs. They have happy hour food and drink specials during the weekday and reasonably priced beer otherwise. The service we've had there has also been really good across the board. The food does leave something to be desired. That is the one thing I wish they would overhaul at this place. The menu is pretty extensive, with plenty of options. My food has ranged from gross to pretty good, so I never know what to expect. That said, it is still a safe bet if I want to get a beer, watch a game, and get a regular burger or some appetizers.

We happened upon this place twice while we were in Boise (well, we 'happened' upon it the first time... went back deliberately the second!). It was so conveniently placed by the Greenbelt River Path (that we were biking along), it was just too convenient not to stop for lunch (and on the way back, drinks). The food was great and the service was friendly and quick. The Mahi tacos were full of chunky Mahi Mahi and a great pico/salsa. It was good enough that you didn't need the (runny) salsa that was served on the side. Hubby had breakfast, lunch and dinner all in one burger which was colossal (that may have also been it's name - probably not though). He wasn't asked how he'd like the burger cooked and it seemed to come medium-well (would have prefered medium or medium-rare). Stopping for drinks, on the way back along the greenbelt, to cool down in the 100 degree heat was a God-send. The skinny cocktails (around 100 calories each) were great.

We have been here twice in the past several weeks and thought it was great. I've had hot sandwiches both times. The "vampire" fries which are garlic are actually quite good especially with ranch. My husband had a burger and loved it. He looks forward to bringing his growlers the next time and getting them filled for $7 each. I prefered sitting in the lounge to the dining area because it was quieter. We were next to the open kitchen in the dining area which made it harder to hear conversation. The service was a little slow at times at both visits since the servers had more than one table sat at the same time. But went for dinner on the weekend both times so it was quite busy.

I don't know about this place. It is so hit and miss. Don't get me wrong, they have decent food and an okay happy hour spread, but as much as I wanted to like this location - I just can't. In fact, we went here a number of times for Geeks Who Drink and the service just got worse and worse with misses on food orders, not being served in a timely manner, and then having to send food back repeatedly. And I promise, I'm not that person. If food is okay, I'll usually just eat it and say, pick off something I don't like. But sometimes you can't do that - and on one such occasion, I couldn't. I asked politely for it to go back as I had a tooth pulled recently and couldn't' eat peppers. They took it back, brought it out to me again with peppers. This happened TWO MORE TIMES. Four plates of nachos, all with peppers. Then after almost 2 hours of waiting to eat because the food had to go back so many times, barely an apology and no discount or anything. Since we were there for Quiz, we didn't leave. Then the next week we had a problem with food coming out out of order (food for some people at the table, appetizers for others, and another not getting his food for nearly 30 minutes after everyone else had eaten). The manager wasn't much help and made an excuse for her server. A customer service refresher course for the night manager may not be out of line. For what they charge, they need to get their act together. On the plus, I love the nachos when they are done right and the armadillo eggs and the vampire fries. Yum!

Service was slow to start and the cocktail didn't taste very good but the food was really good.

Cool Atmosphere to watch a sporting event, lots of TV's. Food is mediocre and so is the beer. Service has always been great. People who love chains will love this place.

What you want: a decent burger, medium rare, with simple toppings. What you get: a crappy piece of grey meat. Any place that can't get a basic burger right does not deserve my repeat business. I had dinner here with a group of four colleagues and all of us ordered different variations of their "Hand Forged Burgers." I chose the "All American" which was a basic burger with American cheese and the usual fixings: pickles, lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup and mustard. I splurged and made mine the USDA PRIME for $3 more; that brought the tab for my burger to $12.69. When the burger was placed in front of me I was dumbfounded. What I saw was a perfectly round shaped disc that was uniformly flat and had the coloring of a grey zebra. This made me suspicious. I didn't think I had walked into a fast food joint where billions and billions have been served. When I took my first bite I was appalled because the meat was previously frozen, for how long I have no idea. There was no mistaking the distinct taste of freezer burn, it was chewy, and there is no way this meat was ever going to be medium rare. My colleague's burger could have been the same evil twin, except that the burger that she ordered was medium well. The burgers were indistinguishable from one another in color and taste. They both sucked. I recommend you satisfy your burger craving elsewhere and go to a place that can execute and is worthy of your time and food dollar - inexcusable.

Great pub food, great wide open space inside, plenty of tv's showing all the different games so you don't miss a moment of the action, and great friendly service. We came during a visit to Boise, met some family for lunch on a Sunday got a table for 7 no problem. I got the Num Num with a Turkey patty and it was definitely Nummy. Loved the fresh veggies on top of the fresh patty and the bun and garlic mayo just topped it off perfectly. I got the sweet potato fries and they were the perfect blend of sweet and salty. My boyfriend got the Turkey Havarti Melt with some au jous to dip on the side and vampire fries. The sandwich was perfectly melted and the bread was toasted just right. The flavors of the meats, cheese and the au jous just made everything come together perfectly. The vampire fries were insanely delicious and very pungent...definitely don't order if you are on a first date! He also ordered the Buttface beer which he said was a really great Amber and would highly recommend it to anyone coming here. He wants to take some home too!! This was a great lunch spot and I would come back here for drinks at night and to hang out and watch games if it was near my house.

After 3 visits, I had to rate it. I want to be honest and clear; the location is fabulous especially if you're coming off the green belt. Unfortunately that's the best part. The food is your typical bar food, nothing special. Their service is the worst, especially for how long they've been around. It takes way too long to receive your food, a refill and when you finally do; you'll wait quite awhile for the check as well. When we complained, the manager did not want to listen and instead rushed to give us a coupon for a free appetizer which I gave to a homeless person. Will not go back.

The wings are pre cooked and baked with Franks Red hot. This is how Dominos did it in the 2000's...gross. I had one if their specialty burgers and it was decent, but not great. Waffle fries we a bit cold. I give the food a 2 & the atmosphere a 4.

Food was fantastic, service was just as great! Went in 40 min before close for a family dinner. We weren't rushed at all which was refreshing and we even offered to get our food to go since it took a while to decide, but our server Scott insisted we stay and enjoy our meal at our pace and not to worry about the time. He was so nice and attentive. We ordered some food to go and he had the kitchen stay open so it would be hot and fresh when we were ready to leave. I wish our Ram in Washington was this great! Thank you Boise Ram.

Great atmosphere, amazing food, and awesome beer. This place has never let me down! I definitely recommend the Hillbilly Burger. Try it once and you'll be hooked!! Close to the stadium, private parking lot, and in the summer if you can sit outside, DO IT. Their patio is gorgeous!!

Fantastic! One of our favorite local hang outs! Bike ride in the greenbelt, stop in for $6 pitchers on Sundays and the fabulous hummus platter. Done and done.

This came recommended from the Courtyard Marriott about a block away. I was here on two consecutive nights, mainly to watch the Pirate games. The menu is nothing great, pretty much what you'd expect from a bar. Oddly, it took me a long time to find something I'd eat. It was one of those where nothing looked good. For example, I had the BBQ bacon cheddar burger BOTH nights. There was just nothing horribly compelling. Since its a brewery, I should say the beers were great. Over two days I had plenty of them and I pretty much liked them all. The best one, and not just for the name, was Buttface Amber Ale. It's odd asking the bartender for another Buttface, but its hard to have only one. In any event over two days of eating dinner at the bar, with different bartenders working, I can say the service was tremendous. They couldn't be more accommodating since the Pirates aren't really on anyone's radar in Boise. They were engaging, an paid attention to details. Next time I'm in town I'd come back. Probably not for dinner necessary but for a beer and a game.

Went with a large group and everyone was happy. Meatloaf and hillbilly burger were the favorite dishes. They have a gluten free menu too. I'd give the hippy chick salad a 3.5...filling and ok for a dinner salad

I love the dynamics of the place. The burgers are great here. You definitely don't get cheated when it comes to amount of food. I would have given this place a 5 star review but lunch was 52 bucks for the four of us for lunch and we didn't have drinks. Other than the price, I'd eat here again.

Great food! My son had the turkey burger Cobb with Gorgonzola, bacon, egg. With sweet potato fries It was really good. I had the Salmon Berry Salad. The salmon was cooked perfectly Service was very good. I would come back. I didn't try the beer. I'm driving.

We love the RAM! I had the All American burger, pretty decent burger for $10. My boyfriend had the Majestic Whisky Chicken sandwich, and said it was awesome. Every time we come we have the bread pudding for dessert. It's AMAZING! Server was attentive but not overly so. Good prices, good service, great food! I definitely recommend going to the RAM.

Been here 30 minutes and had to ask for silverware after the food got here. The server isn't very friendly either. One person asked for dressing on the side and it came out already on so we had to send it back. My soup came out about 2/3 full. The Notorious PIG sandwich was good but they put green bell peppers on it instead of the Anaheim peppers it is supposed to come with. (I guess they don't know the difference.)

Just had lunch there and it was excellent, as was the service. I had a burger and onion rings and both were excellent. Everyone else at our table enjoyed their meals as well. Good selection of draft beers also.

i think Yelp should be used to recommend something at a place thats extraordinary as opposed to just always reviewing the place as a whole. I checked this place out on a business trip to Boise and i tried their beer sampler. This place had a Hefeweizen beer that was out of this world. I never had anything like it. It had this really strong vanilla taste to it, it was great. I cant stop thinking about it. Food was good. Nothing special but it did the job. But I swear, go there for the Hefeweizen. Its really good

After experiencing the Lacey Washington location of The Ram (yes it's a chain..LOL) I was excited to come home and try our local franchise. Overall I was impressed. My husband and I went on a Sunday afternoon. We had a coupon for buy one get one free (burger or chicken sandwich) which you can get by registering for The Ram MVP club on their website. Our server was Aaron and he was top knotch. The food and the beer were what I expected (the garlic fries will make you breathe fire but they are good!)- I fell in love with the Buttface Amber in Washignton. Portions at The Ram are plentiful, that's been said before. But I will nay say those who have said the food isn't good. We began with the mozzarella sticks. They were cool enough to enjoy without searing our taste buds when they arrived and the marinara for dipping was flavorful. I ordered the King George burger, and my husband went with the Faburgere. This is where we had one of two distracting issues- my husband ordered his burger well done, and it was still pink. Because he is not a complainer by nature, he did not mention it, but I saw it when I went to put our leftovers together in a box. He had eaten all but a quarter and I felt that was beyond making a fuss, but I did inform our server. The other issue that kept this from being a full on stellar visit, is that we were placed in a booth right next to the 'drop zone' for the staff. The table where they are doing busy work and chatting when business is slow. The talking and people moving about in that area took a bit of ambiance from our visit as they appeared to be preparing Ram apparel for sale. We will go back, for special occasions or when we have coupons as the prices are a bit high for our budget these days, but over all we enjoyed our visit.

While visiting our son in Boise he suggested this restaurant and it was a great choice. The food is fantastic, and the portions are large, (mine went home in a doggie bag) and the beer menu superb. I had a Total Disorder Porter with my meal and it was delicious. It had notes of coffee, chocolate and caramel! Recommend the Reuben burger, but bring a big appetite as it is very large!

We went to the ram for Father's Day because it had seating outside and the first place we picked was closed. ! Waiter was very friendly and funny the patio was nice and cool and covered and the food was amazing. We will return for many more meals my only complaints are the wait for our food was very long and the appetizers were very small and they charged my mom full price for a vergin margarita. I found that to be unfair since the price come from the alcohols in the drink.

This was the first time I came to this location of the Ram and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Service was great and I ordered the Wedge salad and it was awesome. The 2 people that I were with ordered burgers and they looked great. Hope to make it back here in the summer where their patio is right along the greenbelt. I have visited Meridian Ram as well and I like the atmosphere of the one in Boise better.

Um just say no...and here are my reasons: * My Guacamole, Bacon, Cheeseburger was soggy. The ground beef was tasteless and bland. The Guacamole was not fresh. The only good part was the bacon. * The service was spotty. We had to wait for them to set up our tables outside even tho we had a reservation and when they told us our tables were ready, we walked out there and.....it wasn't ready. * We asked to split the check, the server said no problemo and when we received the check...it didn't get split up. I'm not a big chain restaurants person, but Chili's is still better than this place.

Great place to take your husbands or boyfriends! If you want something totally catered to them, this is it! Great big TV's around with sports on pretty much all the time. The portions are man-sized. The BREAD PUDDING is to die for!

Since most of my coworkers like this place, it makes it difficult to write a bad review of the RAM, but honestly, I don't see the draw of this place. It's just a smaller chain version of Chili's, Applebee's, or Chevy's with more TVs. Food: all in all it was a 2 out of 5. Just typical chain restaurant food. Atmosphere: 2 out of 5. It's a family oriented establishment / sports bar, so it's very comparable to Chili's. Price: $10-20 for dinner entrees.

My wife and I went here on a weekend. We were told at the door a 10-15 minute wait for seating, and said we were welcome to wait at the bar. 30 minutes later I asked how long the wait was, and was told that they had looked for us and not found us, so given our table away. We were right there... no one ever came by. It would have been impossible to miss us (and we even told the bartender we were waiting for a table). Upon seating us, we began to plan our order. We were starving at this point. It took 15 minutes for a waitress to take our order. When she did, she said appetizers would take 30 mins or so, and entrees were 45 min - 1 hour backlogged. I asked if we could get some bread sticks to hold us over. The bread sticks came and they were... awful. How do you mess up bread sticks? I have no idea. They tasted stale. At that point we asked our order to be cancelled and we left. I spoke with the manager on the way out and he apologized and said the drinks we had while waiting were on the house. That was pretty much the only positive thing. Bad: Really slow service Very understaffed for a weekend night Breadsticks were bad. Can't imagine what the rest of the meal would have tasted like Good Great outdoor seating, right on the greenbelt. Happy hour prices looked really good Manager apologized and wouldn't take our money for drinks Overall- I might come back here for a pitcher of beer and the outdoor seating during happy hour. Won't be coming back for dinner.

Not sure if it really rates 2 stars. We went there before a BSU game, and the place got really crowded, they have a great menu, and we were all hungry. The food was very disappointing. My Son ordered one of their specialty burgers, with fancy topping, medium. It came out dry, raw and cold, since the burger wasn't even cooked. We ordered the loaded Waffle Fries, and the loaded part was pretty much missing. There were 4 of us, 2 burger lunches were very disappointing, chicken tender meal, came out with cold fries. Won't be back, and don't recommend it. We all will go back to Smashburger.

In theory I should really like this type of place, but it was just ok. The steak was ok, although it did have massive portions. I also hit a waiter on a bad day, which I am sure didn't help much.

First and foremost, the burgers are great! Other than that, the menu is filled with over priced generic food that are small proportions. If you order to-go items, they give you even smaller proportions. If you mention it, they will give you out-dated buy one get one coupons. The food was bland and wasn't worth the price, especially the ribs.

I know way too many people who have worked at the Ram/still work at the Ram so I don't have many good things to say about the food. It's pretty basic sports pub food. However, the wedge salad is very decent and the loaded Ram Chips are delicious and easy. I love all the flat screens conducive for ESPN watching and the bar area is huge. We go for bike rides on the greenbelt in the summer and make it a point to stop in, say hi, and have a beer but I wouldn't take out-of-towners to a chain for dinner here even though it is a pretty good sitting experience if you sit in a booth. A-OK for sure, especially for the somewhat steep prices on basic burgers.

Sub-par appetizers, not worth the price. Skip any appetizers with tortilla chips. It's the grossest / cheapest / stale bagged kind they can find. Crap dip with garlic crostini came with tiny portions. The few good things about it: 1. They may serve cheap wine, but at least they're not stingy about it. (They bring you a wine glass and mini decanter.) 2. My mojito-addict coworker loved the mango mojito (made with fruit puree). 3. Easy parking

RAM is huge and beautiful. The bar is cavernous with rock walls, lots of televisions and a sky scraping ceiling. Neon lights proudly proclaim "Boise's tallest bar" near the ceiling. I've not been to the actual dining rooms here, or the attached additional restaurant, but I've been impressed by the bar. The food is your basic chain fare though on the higher end. The onion rings are hand battered and fried. The sandwich I had featured roast beef, pulled pork, pickles, onions and some sort of mayo. It was tasty, but nothing outstanding. The other time I visited, I enjoyed a platter of veggies, pita and hummus. Very good, but very easily duplicated. Likely at Safeway. The beer is pretty run-of-the-mill. Typical RAM beers. All the lighter colored beers were nowhere near hopped enough. The darker beers were pretty good, I think because they don't need as many hops to be good. So stay dark when you visit. The porter and amber were my favorites.

I stopped here on a road trip.. The place was PACKED. There happened to be some kind of huge football game going on at the time, so the streets had tons of people walking around. Tons of white people all around.. yay... very hot girls working here!! extra star for that! The food wasn't as good as I hoped. This was the only place in Idaho I was stopping in at the time, and I expected the fries to be real good.. they weren't prepared in a way that I liked.. I didn't realize this place was a chain, and picked it based on the GPS in the car.. The staff said because it was soo busy, they had a special menu that day. Maybe I didn't get to experience the best of this place. I tried a burger and fries.. 2 stars for the food.. but this place seemed like a magnet for the party crowd.. We saw some of the hottest girls ever here.. think of this as like a Hooters, but with better food.. and you'll be OK.

Sorry excuse for a brewpub. Ram is a chain and feels like one. The food was on par with something like Chili's or Applebees; nothing special. Our dessert (berry skillet pot pie) was quite possibly the most awful thing I've ever attempted to eat. When I told the waitress about how bad this item was, her response was "oh, that's too bad." and she walked away capping an evening of less than stellar service. If you appreciate craft beers, this place is not for you. You'd be better off trying Table Rock brew pub (brews their own) or Bittercreek Alehouse (offers regional micros).

Speaking purely from the angle of having a meal. Also, didn't have beer as we are traveling. It was not too busy for 6:00 PM on a Saturday. Seated immediately and waitress came right away. Ordered non-alcoholic drinks, received them promptly. Our food was brought very quickly and the waitress was very friendly and attentive. My wife and I both had the salmon dinner special and it was excellent. I thought the price was good for the meal and I left satisfied. I would try the place again if we happened by at meal time.

Mixed feelings here. I have been once and the food tasted like plastic. On another day the food and service was decent and the waters were really nice to my nieces and nephews. I think the RAM is one of those places I only visit if I have some sort of great coupon and other people want to go there too.

beer = good food = meh hanging out with friends = good ESPN with big screens = good well, thats my review, its a brew/pub. Go for the drinks, company and TV, not for the food. try their beer sampler, its a good value and a nice introduction to all things Ram. it's got a time and place, but i dont exactly crave for this place and its close to the greenbelt for easy drunk biking access. a solid 3 star in my book.

Perhaps I'm swayed by the "Buttface" brew ... but actually like the Ram. My folks like it there ... being fans of beer it's no surprise. We went there on Friday while visiting over the Thanksgiving holiday ... and with several options for beer, sports games and food ... it was a good landing spot for a small crowd. The only thing I will say is that the portions are huge ... huge ... huge. But tasty and the service is excellent. I say -- if you want a bar with many beer options, pub food and sports playing on a TV in every corner (and most pillars) this is the place. If you don't like that ... don't go there. GO BRONCO'S!

I love this place!....Whenever I go back to Idaho to visit ( Which is dead rare these days) I hit up this place! There is this amazing burger there, The RAM DUNKER that I absolutely love! Plus the people there are HOT and it's always poppin. =) Idaho? No Udaho! =P

I am increasingly becoming unimpressed with the eateries in Boise. I have yet to have something really tasty on my plate and in a moderate portion. Ram was nothing special. Yes, the portions are huge. But huge portions of shitty food is not something I can brag home about. The service was not that great either. It is the 3rd place I have been to in Boise that the people who work there seemed miserable. What is up with this town??!!

We came here on a Sunday around 11:30 and the (huge) patio was empty. We got to pick a seat closest to the water & we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. I ordered a lunch combo. Chicken caesar wrap & a bowl of clam chowder. Both were really good. There was so much chicken in my wrap - I was impressed. I figured it would be mostly lettuce. It was a bit of a hungover lunch so I did not try any cocktails. We want to come back next time for dinner & drinks. Well done!

Went here on GAME DAY! ( we are out of towner's) We ordered a cosmopolitan $11:50 and a glass of their best Sauvignon Blanc $9:50 to our surprise they were served in plastic glassware! We inquired about this and was told " that's since its game day everything is served in plastic" plenty good! However they had no issue serving beer in bottles! Asked again and was told the same answer! Really?? Might seem like a petty issue, but the whole experience felt cheap! Probably should have sent it back, but we were dumbfounded when the drinks were left at the table and the waitress walked away!! Meanwhile other guests had glassware at there table, when asked about that, we were told they had been there from earlier!!! When inquiring with the manager again got the same answer, but was offered a glass ( stemless) after the fact!!!Food was mediocre!! Will not return!!

The Ram is pretty reliable. They have good beer and good burgers. They have enough TV's for NFL game day, which is key. The staff is nice and it's pretty affordable. I'd be back.

The beer here was surprisingly delicious, I had the amber and the pale ale, and greatly enjoyed both of them. The entry way is gorgeous, styled like an old theater. Inside however, there is some cool decor but not much more than you'd find in an generic chain pub and grill. The food was good, but definitely not great. I tried one of their salads, which was standard and similar to most house salads. The BBQ chicken quesadilla left me disjointed however. It wasn't bad. However a basic chicken quesadilla with some BBQ sauce and sour cream drizzled on it doesn't particularly knock you away, nor did it take much to make to demand a ten dollar price point. This place is great, if you go however, I highly recommend sticking to their focus of beer! Cheers!

We came in after leaving Chilis. We were seated, server came after a couple of minutes to take drink orders and food. Nice girl. Everything we ordered was good. Soup was cold, asked for them to heat it up. But the Mac and Cheese was SO good. The dip sandwich my son had was good. The turkey sandwich my daughter had was good. The burger my mother in-law had, she said was really really good.

How I heard of this place: About a decade ago, I was first introduced to the Ram by a group of friends attending the University of Washington. A late night meal for the UW students meant a trip to the University Village and the Ram. I swore to never return. My husband's business trip detracted us and we were back...this time in Boise. Type of cuisine: "We are all about great food, ice-cold hand-crafted beer and creating memories, and we have been for over 40 years...In 1995, we began brewing our own beer and contributing to the successful evolution of the craft beer industry...As we approach our 44th anniversary, the future is promising. We look forward to bringing our innovative menus and award winning beer to new communities while continuing to craft memories with our amazing team members and guests." Ambiance: Sports. Bar. With a gorgeous outdoor patio along the Boise Greenbelt. What I ordered: Happy Hour running for a full fifteen more minutes, we selected a handful of deep fried goodies to enjoy. Among them, the newest menu item: Corn Dog Lollipops ($5.49), house-made and served with beer mustard, Load'em Up Waffle Fries ($4.99), Buffalo Style with gorgonzola, mozzarella, wing sauce, and the Chicken Caesar Salad ($4.99). My husband also indulged in The Faburgé, or what he termed, "The Fatburger", named after the famed "Fabergé" egg, featuring breakfast, lunch and dinner in every bite! A seasoned burger patty, cheddar, sliced ham, hickory smoked bacon, fried egg, onion crisps and mayo, served with a side of fries. What I loved: The corn dogs were surprisingly satisfying, but I could really only eat one "pop". The Caesar salad pungent with dressing and an abundance of Parmesan. A burger with a fried egg - completely reminiscent of my time in New Zealand. Why I loved it: Fast. Food. The end to an eight-hour road trip. Cost: Average ($9.99 - $13.99 per burger entree)

I enjoy eating at this place every time we go. We really like it outside minus the darn bees. The service is always good and the food is delicious. Also any business that donates to veteran events like this one has are a 5 star in my book! I appreciate any businesses who supports and continues to support our veterans who have served our country. I would recommend this place and will keep returning.

This is similar to a Friday's type of restaurant with outdoor seating with a tad more 'color' to the menu. I ordered the Mahdi Mahdi fish tacos (pan seared instead of fried) which came with black beans and rice. It was delicious! My first fish taco so I may be biased but I would def do it again!

Being the negative Nancy that I am, I want to give this place two stars. However, I have to give The Ram credit for being really, really consistent. You get what you expect here and that's more than a lot of gourmet places can pull off. My complaints are as follows: the beer just isn't really my style, so I don't think it's that great; my burger came out well-done when I asked for medium-rare; I got the tiniest amount of fries, which are so cheap I don't know why anyone would skimp on that; my wife's sweet potato fries were literally sweet and tasted as if they had been seasoned with both cinnamon and sugar; and, finally, for $10 my burger seemed pretty stinking small, compared to my expectations. However, our server was (and typically has been) really sweet, friendly and attentive. They also know when to leave you alone so you can just enjoy your meal. The beer is absolutely passable, fairly affordable and, sometimes really cheap (during happy hours and game specials). Like I said, the food is really consistent and that makes me happy knowing I can expect what to receive. The bar has a great number of big screens and seats / booths arranged in a way that I can watch more than one game at a time (Sunday night football, plus the Giants' game... hell yes!). I wouldn't expect to be blown away here, but I would expect a solid evening with few complaints. Do stay way from the sweet potato fries, unless you're expecting something verging on dessert.

We pulled into town around 9pm after being on the road for almost 6 hours. This being our first time in Boise we Yelped to see what was around. Since it was a Sunday night, there wasn't much open and after a little driving around we found the Ram. To be fair, my BF and I were both a little worn out and probably not as chipper as we normally are, and I'm not sure if our server was picking up on that and matching our energy, or if he is just naturally a less chipper individual. Not rude mind you, just not particularly warm. The BF got the meatloaf and I opted for some wings and a side salad with Ranch. The meatloaf was great, and the BF reported that it was probably one of the best restaurant meatloafs he has ever had. The side salad was... A side salad, but I did find myself wanting at least 3 times more Ranch than the small cup it came with. The wings (which I ordered naked) we pretty great. They were very hot and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. There was a little bit of a glitch with my first plate of wings which I didn't even notice until after I had eaten my first drumstick. Right on the edge of the otherwise clean white plate there appeared to be a drop of what at first glance looked disturbing like blood. When I showed my server he didn't seem overly concerned, and said that he was pretty sure it wasn't blood, but that he would be happy to switch them out for me. The second plate was squeaky clean and I enjoyed the rest of wings.... Even if I was too afraid to ask for more Ranch. I did catch a glimpse of one of the burgers and it looked pretty darn awesome.... If that helps any.

Armadillo eggs are a food for the elite... They are the best and the Reuben was the best I've had in a long time. Service was great too!

Went out for dinner with friends and had a great time. I'm veggie, and they've got a good variety of salads to choose from, which was awesome. The vegetables were super fresh and I appreciated the dressing on the side. I didn't get bread with the salad, which I was looking forward to, but that's a minor detail. My friend got the chicken strips and sweet potato fries and they came out fresh and hot, although we were certain they were frozen, industrial Sysco product rather than hand breaded. My other friend had a grilled ham and cheese with onion rings and really liked it. It was far more food than she could eat. Prices here are pretty high: $10 for a salad, and $4 more if you wanted one with chicken or another protein on top. Appetizers are $6 to $9, which is a lot in my mind. They do offer some fun choices like fried pickles, which are great and crispy with a spicy dipping sauce. Desserts are great too. The giant mud pie they offer is an embarrassment if you order it, but totally delicious and the sort of indulgence you need when you go out for a night of burgers and beers. I'd highly recommend saving room for a sweet at the end of your meal. Service is brusque. They want you in and out, even though there are usually empty tables. I think they assume people are here for quick meals, but when people want to hang out and talk it's nice not to be interrupted every two minutes to see if you're ready to order. We were catching up and not paying attention to the menu, and our server came by and pestered us until we gave up on talking and ordered. There were plenty of open tables, so we weren't taking up valuable real-estate for our server, and it seemed rude. He also got our check dropped without asking about dessert, or if we wanted it split. We gave a 15% tip, which I never do--but he didn't even really earn that. Overall, the food is okay, the prices are high, and the service is mediocre. I do like the broad variety they offer on the menu, they've got a great selection of beers, and it's a friendly and comfortable place to hang out. In the summer if you can sit on the patio out by the river, that's an awesome experience. I'd recommend that if you have warm weather.

I have been here twice and both times it was a success. The servers are quick and friendly when I asked them questions. There's a nice patio on the back side to enjoy the weather and good food. I had armadillo eggs to start which where really good with shredded chicken and jalapeños. And I ended with there bourbon black burger which was jam with onions and blue cheese and a sweet sauce. I personally thought it was alright but my experience was over all great. I would come here to check out other menu items.

Been to various Ram locations several times and the experiences can be vary from bad to good. When they are busy they crash and deliver poor food quality like my last experience before an Eagles concert. The place was packed and they created a limited menu to serve to that many customers and served beer in plastic cups. The food took over forty five minutes and it came out cold. When the business model is to lower the standards and still not achieve the lower adjusted outcome it is just bad business! Places that effectively execute at high volume on a regular basis just keep getting busier and the ones that fail generally complain that their problem is a poor location.

The only reason I came to RAM was to watch football games on college game day. I informed the hostess that I wanted to see a specific game, and that if she was unable to accommodate my needs, I could go elsewhere. I was reassured that I would be sat at a table where the game would be viewable. After about 15 minutes they did not put the game on for me. When I inquired as to the status of my viewing request, I was told that it would be taken care of. The jerk in charge of the TV's proceeds to put the game on the smallest TV in the entire place (a 13" screen maybe) that wasn't even viewable from my table. He glared at me when doing this because I had dared to ask 3 times over the course of an hour to put the biggest game of the week on ANY screen. Terrible staff (source: 8 years working in sports bars)

Stood at hostess station for 5 solid minutes with three girls standing behind the desk not acknowledging me. Waited 30 min for lunch not at peak time (only one person in my party). Sandwich very greasy. Watched two servers bring food and drinks to wrong tables four times. Never checked on, no napkins (got one myself from bus station). Blond ale ashy aftertaste. Nice out door patio. Bleh. Waste of money.

I had the sirloin, fries and a salad. The sirloin was good to above average for a chain restraunt, taste and tenderness was ok. Salad was good, the greens were cool crisp and fresh. Fries were hot and tastey. The atmosphere of the Ram is warm and friendly and the music isn't too loud. The one thing that did surprise me was that only steak offered was a sirloin, no ribeye or anything else, REALLY come on guys you can do better than a sirloin. Sirloins are the worst cut of beef, even the lowly flat iron is better than a sirloin.

Late flight in from Denver to visit BSU. Pulled into the Ram and wow! Everything they say about Boise hospitality came out in the waitress, quality of food, and general atmosphere. We may choose the college just so we can eat here again.

After years of going to the RAM I've been forced to re do my review. My wife and I decided to give it a couple of more tries before changing my original review. The fact is the food and service is still pretty good, but the food pricing is gone thru the roof. Ice tea is almost $3.00 had a well drink from the bar and it was $10.00. We both had steak sandwiches just about $14.00 a piece. Cheapest think we had was a piece of mud pie, which we shared @ $8.00. We will be going somewhere else that's more reasonable.

So I was a bit stuck here on what to order the Meatloaf sandwich or the Faberge burger??? Well I ended up with the Faberge seasoned burger cheddar cheese heaven :-) sliced ham, hickory smoked bacon, fried egg, onion crisps and to tip it off it wasn't drenched in mayo. Thanks to the awesome waitress who helped me out on deciding lol. To wash it all down the Blonde on tap was quite refreshing too. I had to say all and all my hunger was taken care of really well :-) don't forget to get the onion rings! It's deliciousness on a plate.

Had the blackened Salmon with veggies and rice. The Salmon was over cooked. Dry. My date had the fish tacos. She loved them. Ike the patio. Gave 3 stars because all that mattered was that she loved her meal, but know that their Salmon (at least today) was dry.

"Event nights" where you are forced to drink from a twelve ounce plastic cup for the same price as a frosty glass of eighteen ounces has persuaded me to strictly only go to the eagle road location from here on out. Whoever decided this for the restaurant should be fired.

Great service. Central location is a plus. Dining area has a great sports bar feel and the community school spirit shown is pretty cool. Their burgers are great, the cheese and pretzel appetizer was our favorite thing of the night, and their beer curlers give you a great variety. Our food was served at excellent speed, but there were not many tables to be served at that time. My only issue was our burger toppings were not drained before hand so our buns were super soggy.

What a nice place! I tired the blonde ale and stadium burger; both were great! I also highly recommend the vampire fries but not if you are on a date! Service was great and during lunch it was not to busy. Will be back for sure!

Great brews, typical bar fare. Really enjoyed trying the different types of house brews. Food was very typical bar food. It was nothing memorable. Service was mediocre, but it was slow night so they may have been short staffed.

Prices have increased to a point it's not worth eating here any longer unless it's possibly happy hour. Many of the popular foods items have been taken off the menu as well.

Stopped in while on a business trip. It was recommended to me by the hotel. I got the whiskey chicken entree and it was very very good. The brews were good, but nothing unique or amazing. The staff was very friendly and they kept up with the fast pace that night, as there was a huge crowd there before a BSU game. I'd come back here for sure.
