Very hit and miss with the food and the service, so its rating deserves to be squared right in the middle. Just order the #1 (Pho Dac Biet) and go from there. I've had to do the least amount of tweaking of pho broth in town here. Being more of a fan of ramen than pho, I'd like my broth to be ideal already, so it speaks to the quality of broth that I'm not adding copious amounts of fish sauce or Sriracha to elicit taste or mask any imperfections with the broth. The big plus for me here? They serve tripe as a meat option in the #1. Yes, we have a pho place in town that is not scared to offer up some of the funkier meats! Imagine that, serving pho the way the Vietnamese would eat it (hang your heads, other local pho restaurants). You know how the theory goes: if the natives are eating there, you'll probably want to eat there as well. And judging by the clientele there that I've seen at both day and night (and late-night), staying true to their roots and catering to the local Vietnamese population seems to be a top priority. Nowhere is this more evident on the menu than the inclusion of chao long on their hand-written side menu on the counter. A mainstay that's sold by street vendors back in the mainland, chao long is a rice porridge filled with innards and cubes of congealed pig's blood. Pho Tam's version had some standard cuts of beef and Vietnamese meatballs mixed in with the innards, and my bowl was missing the pig's blood. I know someone who is Taiwanese and had the chao long here, and he's fairly certain that he had the pig's blood in his order. I would hope my situation was just a case of not having any blood to put in the order and not a case of making the order less scary for a white guy in Boise. It's a very heavy meal as you can imagine, and I wish some bread was offered to help soften the blow. The lemonade I had it with was really good though. The pricing of the entrees are relatively cheap, but they get you with the appetizers. The spring rolls are fairly large, but $6.50 for four is a bit much. That said, I liked the grilled pork rolls the most. $6.50 is also the same price for the egg rolls. And a set of six crab rangoons priced at a dollar each? I'll pass on that. They offer a spicy seafood soup, but at $20 (far and away the priciest offering on the menu) I'm going to pass there as well. You're better off getting banh mi at Baguette Deli than here. Nothing was as fresh as what I get at BD, and they smothered my whole sandwich with mayo (maybe to mask the lack of freshness?). The service aspect is what makes this place loopy for me. Basically I come in, place my order at the counter, sit down, and wonder what is going to go wrong this time. Water has forgotten to be served to me. My beverage has been served five minutes after I have received my entree and appetizer. I have consistently gotten both entree and appetizer at the same time. Asking for a side bowl of fish sauce one time became an exercise in futility and frustration. I've been given the wrong order after telling the counter lady three times the corresponding letter and number on the menu. Other people have said it, and now I'm saying it: there are service issues here, plain and simple. And I think there will always be service issues here. Because with some of this stuff, they've been open long enough now to where I think it's simply a matter of that's how they are and how they do things, and you have to take it or leave it. Most of them do not speak good English except for the younger girls that I've seen work there, and for me usually it's the older women with limited English that I end up having to deal with. And those women are never particularly friendly either. The vibe I get from them there is the same I get when you're not Asian and you go to most restaurants in L.A.'s Koreatown, that being a feeling in the air of "You don't belong here." And like at Pho 79, the children of the family/families working there often hang around the restaurant. It's a dive and not some high-end restaurant, but I thought it was worth mentioning since it could be annoying to some if they're being loud or running around the restaurant while you're trying to eat. I do find this place worthy for their pho, especially if you like tripe. And there is an element of authenticity to the place that makes it stand out around here. But dining in can be sooooo awkward. I'm not a believer in ordering pho or ramen to-go, so I just have to keep putting up with it.

ktvb.com/story/news/heal… It has been 3 years since I have eaten at Pho Tam for good reason. The food was good and I never got sick thankfully but I saw the way food was being handled in the kitchen that really frightened me. That being said this article on them being shut down does not surprise me but it does relieve me that something is being done about sanitary conditions there so people don't get sick. Time to clean up your act Pho Tam.

There's gotta be something about Boise and Crab Rangoon. You see it on the menu of almost every self-purported Asian restaurant, till you start to question whether your Chinese mother had spoon fed them to you as a child, or whether they are an invention of some American with a cream cheese fetish. Yes, Crab Rangoon is on the menu here, but that, thankfully, doesn't detract from the other "Vietnamese offerings" Pho Tam has to offer. Had the Pho Ga and a sandwich. Both were very good by Boise standards (average in any other Asian-influxed city). The Pho came with a helping of the usual sprouts, basil and lime - though all were looking a bit sad, as they'd been sitting around for a while. Broth was flavorful and not too greasy. The sandwich was a great deal - $3.50 and it came warm with flavorful beef and fresh veggies. The restaurant set up is a bit off putting when you enter - the server (a CAUCASIAN female - an absolutely FIRST in any true-blooded Vietnamese restaurant that I've seen) - sits despondently behind a counter with a lit-up sign of all the most popular dishes Pho Tam has to offer hanging above her head. You can either order at the counter or sit down and she will bring you menus and take your orders. On the early Saturday afternoon we went, the place was quiet and service was fast. Most people were getting take out. The menu online is misleading, as it mentions rice noodles (my favorite), which weren't on the menu in the restaurant. This was odd, as Vietnamese grilled meats and seafood are usually some of the more popular items. Instead, Pho Tam crams every kind of Asian into its menu, with a lot of Chinese and rice dishes and some sweet 'n sour concoction. Can't blame them. It's Boise, after all, where ANY kind of Asian is few and far between.

Good Vibe. Great Service. This is the second time I have been by. The 1st time we had the beef pho. It was the first rain of this fall & it really hit the spot. Yesterday came by to try the bahn xeo. It was a bit of a disappointment. I have had it many times before & this was not what I expected. It looked good on the plate, but it was so heavy & it did not have the light crispy edges I was looking forward to. It was also served with iceberg. I was looking forward to the same greens that are served w/ pho soup. The taste was in there somewhere. It was hard to tell because it was so greasy. I did notice many people looking over at out table and asking what we were eating. I would venture a guess that it is not ordered very much, so the cooking technique required to pull off the light omelet I was expecting is not practiced often. Also, do not bother to order the "Japanese kabob." Being Japanese myself, I could tell that the sauce was from a bottle for it was too thick and cloyingly sweet. The meat was dry, lacked any seasoning & it had celery on the kabob. Really..... celery? The people that run the place are very service oriented. They figured out that my friend and I were sharing a plate & offered, after our order was placed, to split the oder for us. It was lunch time and pretty busy. I felt that one gesture, was going the extra mile for their customers. Hopefully, they will read this review and take this critique to heart also.

I order the pho tai once a week and it's consistently excellent. Broth is rich but not too salty, beef slices are tender and rare, side of sprouts basil, peppers and lime are always fresh and crisp. The fresh rolls are really fresh (not pre rolled and soggy). Peanut sauce is best with so chili paste added. The service people are friendly and swift. Price inline for Idaho pho.

Bun Cha Gio is my favorite. It has a lot of veggies, Vietnamese egg rolls, and fish sauce. Great for hot days because it's so fefreshing. The flavor from the fish sauce (mixed with hot sauce, rice vinegar, and sugar) is so tasty. The Pho is also good. My boys always order #1. It has everything in it. Our most favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Boise area.

Dicey looking exterior in strip mall right on North Orchard with perilous parking in front shallow lot. Would have driven right on by but for some very good Yelp reviews. It got better when I opened the door to the small space with formica tables and vinyl chairs for the promising ahhhh...roma of a SE Asian kitchen (4 stars). Hot oil, fresh chili peppers, grilling meats, cilantro, fish sauce and simmering broth all perfumed the air. Very friendly hostess behind the counter (order there for take out) invited us to take a seat anywhere, brought us menus and cheerfully took and delivered our order (4 stars). The food (2 stars) didn't live up to the aroma for my husband and me. Maybe it was simply what we ordered. Probably very good as Vietnamese fare goes in Boise and authentic if the roughly one third of diners during a brisk lunchtime being of SE Asian heritage with some speaking Asian languages are any gauge. But we had in mind other wonderful Vietnamese food we've enjoyed in other locales. All in all we're glad we went in once but this fell short for us. Still it is worth a try keeping in mind the following: NO FRILLS AMBIANCE No frills is not uncommon in our experience with small 'mom and pop shop' Vietnamese restaurants so no worries about that. This is the kind of place where the dirty plate and leftover bussing tubs are on a cart which gets wheeled around to tables while you are eating with dirty plates scraped into it. Again no worries if you know that going in. But we saw as drawback from windows to floors to table tops to condiment bottles on same, everything looked a little in need of cleaning. FOOD We didn't even need the menu to know what we wanted when we saw Banh Xeo ($5.99) on the board on the wall. This rice flour and egg Vietnamese "omelet" typically filled with bean sprouts and pork or shrimp or both is one of our favorites and not often found. The protocol we were taught by a Vietnamese host in times past to eat it is you tear it with your hands, roll it in leafy greens that come with it, add Vietnamese herbs as provided and dip it in nuoc chom (the salty, sweet, sour fish sauce based addictively good Vietnamese food staple). While the nuoc cham was very good, the Bahh Xeo was greasy compared to other places where we've enjoyed it. It came with soggy pieces of iceberg lettuce offered as the green that were literally so dripping wet we had to dry them with napkins at the table to use them. The only herb served, cilantro, was a bit past prime. We also had spring rolls ($3.50 and two generous sized to the serving); while clearly freshly made and served with peanut dipping sauce, they were missing anything in the way of herbs but cilantro. We also tried the grilled pork and vegetable banh mi; perfect texture to the sandwich roll, great pickled veggies with a kick of hot fresh pepper, lots of cilantro and yummy grilled pork, although very little of it. But at a mere $3.50 for the sandwich one can't complain when ingredients are smaller as we've paid more than twice that for banh mi in other locales. Tables around us seemed to be focused mainly on ordering noodle dishes, pho or bun, so maybe our food experience would have been better had we joined that trend. PRICES Prices ranged from roughly $3.50 to $10.00 with only one item, a seafood soup at $19.99, going above that threshold. A bargain. CHINESE & JAPANESE ITEMS ON MENU Chicken pot stickers, "Japanese kabob" (per menu), Crab Rangoon, Lemon Chicken and a few other Asian but decidedly not Vietnamese dishes on menu. LIBATIONS: Soft drinks, a handful of beer options and Cafe Sua or Den too...yahoo for the two latter Vietnamese coffee drinks. THIS N THAT: 1) PARKING The small shallow lot to which this little strip mall located restaurant fronts is tough to pull into tougher to back out of. Note there is parking in the back as well and you can enter there couple of steps into the back door of the space. 2) ACCESSIBILITY Front door requires step up from the front parking lot onto a sidewalk. Makeshift and in disrepair cement ramp is blocked if parking space it empties onto is in use. Two steps up to back door. All one level once inside. All tables standard height. But those steps may as well be the Himalayas to Yeeps and other Peeps who use wheelchairs and knowing before one goes is key.

Bun no hue was nice and spicy, broth was very good and the noodles/veggie balance was decent. Cafe sua was good too. Would definitely go back but wish there were more options on the bun choices and maybe a vegetable broth option for vegetarians.

I have come to enjoy the very diverse flavor profile of the "pho" dish. Slightly different everywhere you go, Pho Tam is one my favorite. The one thing I have learned by eating pho is that I should order the small portion, I took the advice of my gut this time and ordered a small #1 which comes with the Vietnamese meat ball, tripe and strip steak. It was very good, I prefer fatty tripe over the stringy kind but no complaints here. I also ordered a small order of the chicken pot stickers (fried) they were also good but I think the oil needed to be changed in the fryer. However that did not compromise much of the flavor. I received a generous portion of mung bean spouts and Thai basil to accompany my dish which was appreciated, I love to fill the bowl with the veggies. Takes pho to a whole new level. I love the fact they offer all of the sauces to add to my dish on my own such as the chili sauce, Sriracha, and fish sauce! Service was good for what is expected in an Asian restaurant, they want to get to business and make your food because they know that's what makes you happy, no fluff just get to business. People often perceive this as rudeness which isn't true, it's a culture thing, they know that what truly makes one happy is a full stomach. A stomach full of delicious food and that's what they provide. Pho Tam, a Boise Staple and a must have.

This place took a nose dive. Filthy... Last time we were here we couldn't finish our Pho. It was off and we found numerous hairs. If you walk through the backdoor and observe the filth, you will walk right back out. It's a reflection of their lack of pride in their establishment and food. It's gross... Everyone loves a dive, but a clean dive.

while my review gave this place 3-stars, i do recommend eating here as i did have a positive experience.^^ LAYOUT hole in the wall - very standard pho establishment. seen one, seen them all look. suggested you park in the back lot, as the 4-5 spots in the front is has you backing out into the street. SERVICE friendly and very service-oriented staff. the waitress was amicable to speak with and i saw one of their regular's walk back to the kitchen to speak with the chef on the specifics of what he wanted. PRO 1. standard size bowl 2. standard portions of flank and tripe 3. excellant broth CON 1. 1 meatball (cheap at grocer's) 2. discolored tendon (dark) PRO/CON 1. fat - lots of it in broth i actually "LOVE" fat, but in an age where there's a market for "dieting" items, some knowledgable customers may take note and not come back. most pho places scoop out the fat that floats to the top and charge you money when you have it re-added. win-win situation if Pho Tam followed this basic idea.^^ PRICING fair pricing for the pho, but the banh mi is kind of expensive ($3.50 vS $1.50 average). CLOSING despite a few CONs, which can be fixed, Pho Tam is surprsingly a good place to go... TBH, it's not hard to get that nice 4-star if they didn't go cheap on the meatball and tendon.^^

Very good pho. The bahn mi was good, not great. Spring rolls are excellent and huge. The place probably deserves four stars, but I was so surprised to find such a good Vietnamese place in Boise that I added a fifth star. It's definitely a hole in the wall, but if you just want good food (and a good value) and don't care about atmosphere, you can't go wrong here.

Found this place to be pretty good. It's a-little hard to find but the sound was good and the lady taking orders could communicate just fine with the guests. As for the soup. It's really hard to mess up Pho, but it did taste like the broth was less concentrated than it should. Most wouldn't notice, but I lived in California with many authentic Pho places. The do let you customize the soup, meaning if you don't like the tripe and tendons the will just include the flank. We were also able to order vegetarian Pho with tofu. Defiantly try this place when you come to Boise. It's light enough but not leaving you hungry after eating. The sizes are big so don't over estimate the regular size (it's like a half gallon of soup)

  • Andrew R.

The service was competent, if a little harried, and the #2 bahn mi (particularly the sauce) was excellent, overshadowing the good, but a little bland, #1 pho. The ingredients were all fresh, and the bahn mi portion was a great deal for $3.50. The best "inland" bahn mi/pho I've had yet.

I had lunch here today and it was excellent. I had the #1 Pho Dac Biet noodle soup. The broth was delicious and there was a plate of hot peppers, bean sprouts, and basil to add to the soup. I am used to pho in San Francisco and Pho Tam serves a very nice one. The waitress was very pleasant and I didn't have to wait long for my food. I will definitely be back to try the deli sandwiches and spring rolls.

We were literally the first customer when they opened on Tuesday morning, August 3. This location used to be a Chinese joint called Chef Express. They had "Opening soon" sign for a while so I was wondering what's going on, but finally, they are in business. Of course, we ordered Pho. We used to live in Houston, TX for two years, which had a large Vietnamese community, then we got hooked with Pho. To date, we had the best Pho in Houston, better than LA, Toronto, or any other big cities. So, whenever I find a new Pho joint opens in Boise area, I have to try it. The Pho here is definitely a top class in town. To my taste, I would put more fish source, so I asked extra after the bowls were served. I also liked the quantity of the condiments (basil, bean sprouts, fresh lime, etc.) The broth was very good but the noodle were bit fragmented (noodle has to be long to eat with chop sticks) so I pointed it out to the waitress. We also order a summer roll with BBQ pork (non-fried kind), hot tea, and hot Vietnamese coffee. summer roll and the hot Vietnamese coffee was very good. The hot tea was not hot enough (not free either) and the teabag was a regular Lipton teabag. I prefer Jasmin, Oolong, or Pu erh tea in this kind of place so I also pointed out those to the waitress. There were several shortcomings like that, but overall, it was satisfying experience, considering they just opened. We will definitely go back and try other things on the menu.

After trying it a few times, I can say more. The Pho is really good. The Spring Rolls (at least the BBQ Beef) is GREAT. As another person mentioned, service can be a little off-kilter, but at least they are trying. I know the difference of 3 days was pretty drastic. It picked up quite a bit. It seems that they are fine tuning things.

Definitely meh. I have yet to get my order correct when I go here. I always ask for NO TRIPE, and somehow there's always tripe in my pho. Even if it's just a little -- seems they put tripe in pho automatically and then realize too late that I didn't order it, then pick it out by hand. The pho broth itself, however, is very good: not too sweet, not too heavy. The appetizers are pretty good. The spring rolls (goi cuon) are tasty, if uninspired and a bit shy of fresh, and the cha gio is acceptable. They don't use rice wrappers on the cha gio, but they also use more meat than other places. I prefer the goi cuon at Pho Bac, however, with their fresh mint and shrimp. Banh mi here are quite good! Pho Tam uses more mayonnaise and aromatics than Baguette Deli does, though their variety is nowhere near BD's. Service is rude in general, slap-dash at best. The building itself is a hole-in-the-wall for sure, but that's not much of a problem for me. Be sure to park in the lot behind the restaurant! Don't try to park in the spots right in front -- getting out of those spots means backing up right into Orchard street. Worth a try, if only to compare against the better places in town.

Food is ok, but not spectacular. The noodle is not fresh but the dried packaged ones. Soup is lukewarm. Too much seasoning and too little fresh ingredient.

We gave this place several tries and I am happy to report that we were happy on all occasions. We have tried two of the bahn mi (beef and egg, and teriyaki) sandwiches, the chicken pho and couple of the rice entrees. the beef and egg bahn mi is very good, and what i enjoy the most is that their bahn mi sauce is totally different from baguette deli's. refreshes the palates. but our favorite is the chicken pho. broth is excellent. so good, it warms you from the inside. This pho can hold its own in other cities such as Houston, NY or SF. The entrees were average but better than your take out Chinese fare available in Boise. Service has been good, although I see mixed reviews here. We have always been greeted with big smiles and food has been served with efficiently. To-go pho orders are packed very nicely which I appreciate a lot.

Went back and forth from giving it two or three stars. Went with three for effort. We were there the first week they opened. Spoiled from living in Denver and great authentic Pho all over the place. I like all weird meats and this pho was a bit Americanized. Ready to go back and try again.

I think I might be in love with this place. I just went for the first time last night and I've been thinking about it all day today. I had the Pho with meatballs and round eye and a bbq pork baguette (I was hungry). I'm not a big meatball fan so I wasn't crazy about theirs which is totally not their fault. The Pho was great overall though and the baguette even better. My favorite part about this place is their hours, 7 days a week they're open untill atleast midnight and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday untill 2 AM! It's freaking awesome that my late night food options are no longer limited to drive thru garbage or nothing. Like many other reviewers, I thought the service was fantastic. The young lady that helped me could not have been any nicer and in my book, that kind of thing goes a long way. I plan on going back tonight and again and again thereafter. Thank you for being here Pho Tam!

Best Vietnamese in town, great hole in the wall! This venture was a last minute choice, we were going to go to PHO Nouveau until I sent one of the reviews to my wife. She drastically changed her mind about it and ended up here. I had the General's Chicken, was very good! My wife had the Bun Bo Hue, which was ok, apparently the soups here are not that great, but everything else is. For appetizers we had the beef and pork spring rolls with a peanut sauce. Fantastic!!!

Recently, I made a rule that I wouldn't post a review unless I had visited the restaurant at least twice. However, the exception to the rule is spelled P-H-O-T-A-M. Worth the gamble... Winner. Winner. Viet Dinner. The service? Prompt. Courteous. Just right. The neighborhood? Ignore it. A true diamond in the rough. Don't be put off driving down Orchard Street, thinking that Pho Tam is just another one of the dozens of dive joints in the area. The focus here is on the food. And if I had to break it down to just one word... Unrivaled. Now, I've been around the Boise food scene pretty hard core for the past year. And in that time, I've been a little let down by the fact I wasn't writing home to momma about the Vietnamese fare in this town. Sad face no more. Break out the pen and paper, folks... Dear Mom, I have some amazing news to share with you! Today, the most glorious banh mi sandwich was in my happy face, my oh so happy face! And as if that wasn't enough, finally, I found the goose that laid a golden bowl of pho on my table. And guess what? I ate that, too. All of it. In the same restaurant. In the same meal! Like whaaaat? Yeah. Crazy, I know. But it's okay. A small bowl and a sandwich was only 10 bucks. Enough left over to put gas in the car. Anywho, love you to pieces and miss you, too! This place is back in action so I decided to update my review. The girl that cooks and works the front is killing it for them. It's nice to be able to modify my order slightly and it comes out perfect. Love the spicy chicken, fresh rolls and the spicy beef pho! Definitely worth coming back if you took a break when the quality of food declined.

The food is great. Patience is a virtue. Order anything in the menu. #7 keeps me coming back. The beef noodle soup has great flavor. The more traditional Asian fare won't disappoint either. My only disappointment is the service when it's busy but I try to avoid those times anyway. Enjoy.

#1 Pho comes with meat balls, a few beef slices and tripe. Savory broth. Service reminds me of an off kilter dinner party that isn't quite organized. So I had to ask for my herbs. Beverage serving is not dialed in either. Glasses of ice with our beers and not a water refill the entire meal. Goi cuon were served late. Too bad because they would have been an excellent start to the meal. Still I will come here again to explore the sandwiches. Maybe one of those late nights when they are open until 2AM. Since they are next to the Golden Star, they might pull off late night biz success.

I tried Pho Tam for the first time tonight with a friend who has been raving about it. I was pleasantly surprised! What it lacks in atmosphere it makes up for with delicious food. I had a Bahn mi sandwich with pork, egg, and cilantro. So happy with my choice. I am particular about my Bahn mi's and this met the standard! I also was able to try my friends Pho and it was equally pleasing. To top it all off the prices are crazy affordable.

Did something stupid. Walked in the back door past the kitchen saw all manor of filth, grime, grease build up everywhere. Further down the hall a bowl on the floor in the middle of a door jam full of some kind of liquid (leak in the roof? mid hall grease trap?). Walked further more dirt, grime grease everywhere. HEALTH DEPARTMENT WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU???? Still not done being stupid my wife and I order. Some PHO? which turned out to be some kind of soup kit and a couple of sandwiches. I ordered a beef one that was sooooooo sweet I took two bites and chucked it. My wife ordered a teriyaki chicken and could not find any chicken in it looked like beef? pork?. The soup even though it says beef had ultra thin slices of some kind of unrecognizable (I guess) had tripe and I really don't know what all else. In all it was just flavored water. We ordered "to go" so like I said they gave us several bags of veggies and other stuff that we weren't sure what do with but guessed you;re supposed to throw it all in the broth???? No instructions but thought it had way too much of a lot of spices we don't care for. Just hope we don't get sick. 3/4s of it all went in the trash. Stupid stupid stupid. Could've bought almost 4 gallons of gas instead.

I have eaten a lot of Vietnamese in my life. Honestly this is the worst I have ever eaten ever. The pho was a joke and the ingredients were little and cheap. I have never seen so little ingredients in pho ever. There was no flavor at all in the broth. To meet used in both products tasted very old, and to be honest with you I'm exercising my faith and hoping that I do not die food poisoning. To call this place a Vietnamese restaurant would be like saying Pizza Hut is fine Italian food. If you're looking for a good Vietnamese restaurant do yourself a favor and look elsewhere because quality and quality are both absent here.

Disappointing. Banh Mi was sad. Stingy with the meat and the pickled veggies tasted off. Too heavy on the mayo. I'm surprised that anyone who has ever had a decent Banh Mi would rave about these. My friends had the grilled pork rice dish and wouldn't order it again. This is the first Vietnamese restaurant we tried in Boise, and I'm hoping there are better options. The hostess/waitress was very friendly and gave good service, though. Truly baffled by the 4- star rating.

This was the worst "Vietnamese" food I've ever had. The pho was not even close to traditional. Who puts lettuce in their pho? Yuck. And the pork and shrimp pho ended up with something chicken like, wanna be calamari (I'm sure it wasn't) and Chinese BBQ pork!? So random. The cha gio was also bad and made in won ton instead of rice paper. Terrible.

Such good food. Thoughtfully prepared and well balanced menu. Only really tried the Pho, Vietnamese pancake, and salad rolls. All very good. Comfortable vibe and great service. Switched one of the TVs to Disney for our three year old without asking. Very good prices too.

Just had lunch there. We ordered Pho. Meat balls were spoiled. Broth did not taste like beef broth. Place was dirty, food was horrible. Would not go back.

My favorite Vietnamese food in Boise. I have eaten at a number of different pho places since I was searching for the best one to frequent when I got to town and I have found it. The pho is a great deal for what you get. They are really generous with their portions and they always provide me with all the garnishes that I need. Not only is the pho great, but their sandwiches are extremely tasty (at $3.50 for a 8" baguette sandwich is a steal) and their rice plates are also delicious with good value. I enjoy the food and the friendly service.

Originally, this was not the place I was going to try. Check out yelp and saw The Vietnamese restaurant had good ratings, so stopped by there and it was out of business!!! nooooo!!! Been craving pho after 7 days of camping! Luckily used yelp and found this place. I'm from California and my bf warned me not to have high expectations because we are in Boise, Idaho. oh boy wad he wrong!! I have to admit the outside didn't look very welcoming, actually, I was quite scared to walk in. We came around 2:30 and we were the only ones there. Got the menu and chose #1 small- 5.99! food came and boy the broth was good! They even tossed in some dried garlic, which I never had before in pho. If you are in the area, you should definitely come check it out!!

This place is awesome because it's open so late! I flew in ib the late flight from PDX, and yup, still open! A hot bowl of pho, big and cheap shrimp salad rolls, a pork and egg bahn mi, fresh lime/lemon drink and a plate of stir fried noodles hits the spot just right. It actually probably hit all the spots inside me... I was very full and definitely ready for bed after the feast. The best part of all, after the four of us (the other three eating just as much as me) the bill was only $60. amazing. I do wish there were a little more noodles in the broth; the pork salad rolls were just ok. My friends go here all the time and have tried a lot of the menu. They assured me everything is really good! Very tasty, priced right and it is OPEN LATE!!

For when you have cravings for some good old pho. We have a place in town that is open until 11pm. Yes. 11pm that has great pho. Best option in Boise for some decent pho.

I go here more often than anywhere else in Boise. Very good and inexpensive. I recommend the number 9.

This place was great. The beef noodle soup is just fine, nothing super special but it did the trick. Spicy chicken was good. the menu is limited to a few items (so far I've only tried the soup and spicy chicken and rice) but the Bahn Mi looked pretty good and inexpensive. Service was just fine and a beer for 2 bucks rocks no matter where it is at. The idea that they are open late is awesome, speaks to what pho is all about. The fact that it is located in the same building as the Orient Market seems to suggest that the ingredients will be fresh...as i saw in my perfect sprouts, basil, and jalapenos. I will definitely go back over and over again.

There where good things and bad things with this resturant when I went. The good thing was that the food was fairly good. I just came from overseas and the pho there was amazing so naturally I was skeptical of this place. I ordered the bbq spring rolls and seafood pho. I liked both but was suprised that there was still beef in my seafood pho. I do not mind beef but I know that most people who order seafood and not beef or poultry do it for a reason. My husband got the beef an meatballs and I was suprised to find out that he like his food to since he is picky with asian food. The downside of everything was first the prices the spring rolls are over priced considering it is missing half the vegetables that the vietmanese deli by fredmeyer not even a .25 a mile away has in theirs for almost half the price. The good thing is that Pho tam does put more meat in theirs maybe to compensate for the lack of veggies. Second bad thing is the lack of service at first with the water. I eat my Pho fairly hot and need a good amount of water the younger ladies who where helping us did not offer us refills until after a gentleman came out (I am guessing the person in charge) and asked if everything was o.k. and offered us water. My guess is he said something to them later. Third bad thing at the end of the meal we waited for our bill to be picked up and paided and they never came the two girls ignored us and sat at the counter gossiping. The WORST thing about the place was the screaming and slapping war between the kids in the back of the store who I am guessing is the gentlemans family. They where screaming and literally fighting each other and then crying. I do not know why kids are running around a resturant kitchen like it is not againest the law and its not sanitary. I was not only annoyed by this but slightly disgusted. The food is good even if priced slighlty high but the service is not the greatest. The gentleman was very kind to us but I think he needs to teach his staff to be more courteous because now a days you can not afford to have poor service.
