Since I can't find decent Chicago style pizza over here in SF especially when they closed down UNO's, yes...I had to try this place out for lunch. They had tons of booths and their specials were interesting. Of course, we went deep dish Hawaiian all the way. It was really delicious and the crust was fluffy and crispy on the edges...OMG...I loved it. The ham wasn't too salty and the pineapple chunks were sweet. (They actually offered jalapeno and fresh scallions on the pie, but we want it to be fruity not crazy). For everyone else who thinks they are SF gourmands...think outside of the liberal boxes we sometimes paint ourselves into, and see the bigger picture. Find me a great deep dish pizza joint in SF that's exactly like Chicago, then you can have the balls to moon other cities for their eateries. Service was brisk and there weren't a lot of diners indoors so we got a lot of attention. Pluses on the garage across the street for free first hour parking. Additional hours are $1.50. DANG, it makes me cry when I think about the parking fees back home.

Always love coming to Old Chicago! The Happy Hour specials are great and the Sicilian Pepperoni Rolls are amazing! They are my favorite! The Boise Old Chicago has great service and good atmosphere. Good location right in downtown

We came in here at sort of a strange time, and were able to get seated immediately. This place, on both a food and atmosphere level, is really nothing you probably haven't seen in every U.S city before. It's premise is "Chicago" based and you can get any American staple of sports bar food. The food here was hit and miss. I had the chicken avocado sandwich, that was nothing short of basic. I did also try my friend's macaroni and cheese, which tasted horrifically bad for you, but was undeniably good nonetheless. There's probably some pretty decent tasting offerings here, but I feel like if you're gonna spend the money to go out to eat, there are probably some more interesting places you could find.

Average food, cold beer, service not great. Came to Old Chicago for dinner and a beer. I had the chicken pesto sanny... it was good, nothing special. The beer was cold and the selection was good. However, our server was not interested. We were only one of two tables in the bar area, and any time we needed water, a beer or to make our dinner order, we had to call her to the table. The lack of service was really a downer.

Service was great food was yummy and beer was refreshing! The hostess was friendly and outgoing so that really started our meal off right, she even changed the channel on one of the TVs for us so we could watch supercross which is alwaus a bonus!! Our servers name was BRANDON and he was great! We had drinks before we even had to ask napkins before we realized we needed them and all our food came out just right and he didnt "raffle" off our orders he actually remembered who ordered what. I had a draft IPA brewed in Idaho if your an IPA drinker i would definately recomend it! I have zero complaints about this place we cant wait to come back with friends!

Wow. This was bad. Really bad. Long time Old Chicago fans-- it'll be awhile before we come back to this location. After being seated our drink orders were taken. 20 minutes later we got a water, a sprite and a ginger sparkler. Ordered 2 pizzas and an appetizer. We left after 50 minutes. We were charged for the "kids eat free" pizza. No manager in sight. I called from the car to let the manager know. Ten minutes on hold and then was told the manager was too busy. So- only OC in the mall with Brent for us!

Service almost always sucks but food is good. We like to go for happy hour and visiting with friends.

Great bar with expansive beer selection. Food is average, though I've had a very good tortilla soup here. Pizza is Chicago style, deep dish and heavy on the cheese. You can order thin crust pies.

Good pizza, better bar, tons of beers on tap. Didn't take a photo of the nachos, they were easily the high light. Or maybe I was just really hungry, either way I downed them very quickly.

My favorite restaurant for many years just keeps getting better. This has been the destination for just about any dinner celebration and always brings a thoroughly enjoyable experience every time. We come here for nothing else but the pizza, which is delicious and well-prepared bar none. The beer selection is also impressive with domestic and microbrew choices that make you keep coming back. Next time, I need to talk myself into trying the calzones... I keep hearing they are good times, and I need to see for myself! Being from Southeastern Wisconsin, the food and overall atmosphere easily keep me from complaining about the Chicago Bear pennants that hang about on the walls :)

Always have had such a pleasant experience here. Waitstaff is always great and the food is fantastic! The pizza is unbeatable, but their sandwiches and appetizers are also winners! The Chicken Pesto Panini is a favorite and the Italian Nachos are to die for! The idea of Italian style nachos may be off putting at first, but they are INCREDIBLE! The plate is pretty giant, so definitely something good to share. Old Chicago is a perfect place to bring a bunch of friends because they have a beverage for anyone with the impressive beer and alcohol list. One of my favorite restaurants.

My wife called in an order on 11/8/2014 for 2 12" pizzas to take to a party with us. When she went in to pick them up she received 2 personal pizzas. When she questioned that the order was wrong the server flat out told her that these 2 little 8" pizzas were 12" pizzas. After arguing with my wife over this for several minutes she decides they are 8" and says 'my bad. really? My bad was all you have to say for your scewup and arguing with a customer? She offered to go ahead and make new ones, but as I mentioned we were on out way to a party and did not have time to wait, hence the calling in ahead. We stopped and got a take and bake from papa Murphys and will not be going back to OC. Although most of the food is decent to good, we will not be going back due to very poor customer service.

Food here is really good and so is the location and the set up of their restaurant. They have a lot of seating so it is a good environment for large groups of people and you can always go to the other side and enjoy their full bar. Many people order their pizzas but I stuck with spaghetti this time and I was happy I did because it was prepared really well and I got some garlic bread as well because they know how to complete their meal and make sure that you got everything that you need. Located in downtown so not only are you able to enjoy quality food but afterward you got the option of sightseeing downtown after you got your fill.

Went on a Friday evening around 5pm.. Cool vibe.. plenty of tables.. The thick style 8 inch pizza that we ordered had pepperoni and sausage.. i'd rate that a 4 out of 5. The calzone on the other hand, NOT feelin' it. Definitely not an authentic calzone that we are used to, at all.. blah. 2 out of 5 for that. Overall, meh.

Calzones and giant cookies with ice cream is a must! Great date night, IF you sit on the patio. Otherwise go, knowing that its really too loud to have an intimate conversation Great to watch BSU games, fun environment and good TV coverage.

One of the best spots to hang out or eat at in Boise. The pizza is good (I'm sure there is better pizza in Boise) but this place is the place to go for drinks, to hang out to eat, etc. Ate there twice when I was in Boise, and think one night we were there until closing. Great selection of food and beers. The place is always busy, its a fun, lively, great place to watch sports, etc. Its smack dab in the center of the action in downtown Boise. Like I said been there a few times, and if I'm back in Boise again, I'll make sure to drop in again.

In chronological order at 7:30pm on Sunday: 1) Walked in, no one in sight to greet us. A big frat party was well underway though. Oh well, we're here now. 2) Turned left into the bar. See a server idling and laughing with the bartender. Wave for her attention. "Open seating." she says. 3) We get a table. I make sure to stand so they won't forget us. Another server sees us. Ok, good. 4) Except she walks past our table and slams the menus on the next table to get a table cleaning rag. Ok? 5) She comes back (cleans our table to her credit) and is physically straining a smile. 6) Orders taken. 7) Food arrives in good time. The food is decent. 8) The server passes our table twice during our stay, never checks in on us, while I witness her treating another table with a lot more respect (is it because I'm black and my wife is well-dressed and Asian?) 9) Needless to say, the tip sent a message and we'll never come back. Keep up the good work, management.

I didn't know that this was a chain when we went there, never having heard of this place before, but I started to figure it out as we went in. It was less obvious than other places, so we weren't sure for a a few minutes at least. That said, I am not a big chain person and generally avoid them for a lot of reasons, but always keep an open mind when actually at them. This one is better than most and actually reasonably good. The first strong point is the good beer selection. It is large, with a number of beers on tap and many more in the bottle, although the vast majority are in the bottle and not on tap. Although there are many standards, the place has quite a good range and a lot of craft beers of good quality which are also not exceedingly common. It is hardly a great beer selection, but it is really good and far better than so many places, especially those catering to a rowdy crowd as I saw here. The second good point is that the pizza is, though not great, good. It is not by any stretch of the imagination real Chicago-style pizza, so one should not expect that, and that is a mark against it. However, it is generally tasty well-prepared with a good crust. Service semed friendly and efficient. The place is very loud and seems a bit on the rowdy side. The decor, of the type of fake-individual style that I don't like is not my style but done better than many places.

Great venue & location, large selection of draft beer, impressive menu, friendly & attentive staff. I ordered 2 pints, an 8" pizza, and an order of 5 wings: $30 with tip; it's a bit spendy, which isn't surprising for downtown Boise. That said, I would've spent almost the same having pizza and wings delivered, but I went for the ambiance, and the multiple ballgames on big screen TVs.

Good pizza BUT not real Chicago deep dish. Excellent beer selection and service. Located in downtown Boise, fun part of town.

I ate there twice on my last trip to Boise. Its not exactly real Chicago style stuffed pizza but its till good. I didn't expect it to be authentic Chicago pizza in Boise Idaho anyway. The place is great to watch sports, have some beers and tasty pizza. I like it and will go back every time I am in Boise.

Food is okay, I got a steak and maybe I screwed up by not getting the pizza. Beer selection is really good though and the atmosphere was laid back and friendly!

A standout in Boise, this seems like the place to be to get a good variety of drafts here in Idaho. My first restaurant, and even though this looks to be chain, I wouldn't mind coming back whenever I would be in the area. The 'classics' menu was not even touted by the waitress so avoid this place if you want something besides burgers (pretty good), pizza varieties (calzone's, deep dish, stuffed, thin crusts), or sandwiches. The beer was pretty good, don't remember the exact name, but they had a very wheaty local beer on draft which i recommend. Open late Mon-Saturday until 2 am, so that is HUGE plus here.

Great pizza and huge beer selection on tap. The wait staff is always super friendly. I love the Thai pie pizza. Supper yummy!

Great waitress, Kendall! Kudos. 4-7 great deals on well drinks and appetizers. Had an appetizer Mediterranean salad and it was wonderful and cheap. Husband had spaghetti and loved it. Great job!

Visiting from Chicago, I thought this place was going to be some tacky gimmick with a poor attempt at offering Boise a taste of the delicious food we have, but boy was I wrong. They have everything one would need to spend a whole day watching sports outside of your home: huge beer list, creative food, TVs everywhere, and throw in a waiter with a fancy mustache. For starters, whether you create your own or go with their lineup, you can't beat the beer flight value. The food menu is huge...maybe almost too big, but the stuff they put out was really good. The bacon wrapped wings were probably some of the tastiest I've ever had and the dippin' dough was great as well. There almost wasn't any room for it, but the BBQ chicken pizza was loaded with too much flavor to not indulge. Whether you're visiting from out of town or a Boise resident, come here to watch games. Even the dining area has TVs, and the staff was more than willing to accommodate our viewing requests.

Great service. We wanted a slice of pizza and the host said they didn't do that so he pointed out a place that did but then said hey we have a Pub pizza (basically personal pizza) for $2 during happy hour (when we were there) so we stayed and got a sausage pizza garlic cheese bread and my wife got fried zucchini. I didn't care for the zucchini but she liked it. The garlic bread was just ok but the pizza was great. Now apparently the larger pizzas are different than the pub pizzas so if you try them I'm not responsible. But they could be great too. The server was very helpful and nice. Very impressed with this place will return.

And.................pass! Being from Chicago, this location and the mall location are sad interpretations of what Chicago pizza is actually like. One time the men boasted "Chicago pizza." I asked if it were real Chicago pizza and was told it was "Chicago inspired" pizza which meant it was pizza made by people who have no clue what real Chicago pizza is like. I tried a ham and pineapple stuffed crust pizza and it was atrocious! Ham on pizza is good but layer after layer of ham in the same place doesn't work! If you're craving REAL Chicago style pizza, check out Giordanos.com and order a real Chicago pizza.

Will never return! Hostess walked right past my GF and I like we did not exist. Waitress had NO knowledge of the hundreds of beers they offer. When asked if they had a Strawberry Ale, she shook her head NO. When I asked if she had any suggestions, again a shake of NO. She sent other waitresses over to Gawk at my GF and I. Spent $50.00 on pizza, salad, and two beers. Service horrible, food terrible. And the topper, I left my scarf at the booth and when i returned less than 10 mins later it was gone. Waitress played dumb and manager blamed me for my scarf being stolen. If you are looking for a smile from the waitstaff or any helpful info, go somewhere else! I will never ever return!

Old Chicago has great food! But when you add great food and great location, you get an experience you'll never forget. I love going out to eat with a big group of friends and Old Chicago always accommodates us. I love, love, love that Old Chicago is downtown because I just love looking out the window and seeing big buildings. This location is great for people like me who love city life. I would choose this place over the one at the Boise Mall any day!

Great. Accomodated us when we wanted to watch the hockey game on our nearest TV. Constantly at our table ensuring that everything was OK. Pepperoni rolls are addicting!

Went here when visiting family in Boise. The Tuscan pizza was pretty amazing, the service was pretty good and everyone enjoyed their food. We went when it was a little busy so the food took a bit but it's a nice environment to hang out while waiting. I'd come here again!

Let me begin by saying this is not a place I go to eat a full fledged meal, so I cannot comment too extensively on the quality of their Za etc. I think I did get the whole shebang there once and it was nothing spectacular. HOWEVER, 'tizers and booze? Absolutely and a resounding yes, yes, YES! They have an artichoke dip served with garlic toast that is to die for. Also, as someone else mentioned, their Sicilian Pepperoni rolls are incredible. Oft times we order their Signature trio, which comes with the Pepperoni rolls, garlic cheese bread, and Italian nachos. The Italian nachos are a skosh greasy for my taste, but still sinfully delicious. I also routinely order their house salad, with bleu cheese dressing--as someone else mentioned, their bleu is just out of this freaking world! I love, love, love it. The best bleu I've had in Boise, hands down. They offer a full bar with more beer varieties than you'll ever know what to do with. A few friends of mine participate in their World Beer tour, which lands them fun prizes (they just completed their min-tour that is offered in October--for t-shirts and decks of cards--what can I say? The idea that they get prizes for drinking beer delights them no end). I've had cocktails there (love their metropolitan) and have always found their mixing skills, along with their liquor selection satisfactory. I also order their merlot on occasion, which is surprisingly good. The service in the bar section is always marvelous. The atmosphere is fun and casual. Plus, they are open until 2am. Without a doubt a solid choice for a casual booze-centric gathering.

We had a turkey burger and a club sandwich they tasted exactly how you would expect, no surprises. It is one of the only places open late on Sunday nights. The service was very good, kept our glasses full. The Beer Tour is a big draw. All though it can get pricey it is a lot of fun!

Old Chicago-doesn't get much better in Boise as far as chains go. They do a great job to keep their staff well informed on beers/food and really have a team atmosphere. Good selection of beers due simply to the amount of handles they have but I can usually find 1 or 2 great beers on tap. Their food can get a little rushed at times but if you go their more than once you will have a good experience most of the time most likely. Both location in Boise are reliable places to go if your looking for a friendly fun atmosphere.

Dropped by for lunch with a couple of coworkers. We shared a large Meat Me pizza w/ mushrooms and I'm pretty full after two and a half slices. I actually really enjoyed the pizza - deep dish, nicely made dough (fluffy and light) and great toppings. Total came to about $12/person for one large pizza and three iced teas. Definitely want to drop by after work one of these days - they supposedly have 110 different types of beers there. Whoo!

  • Dubya R.

We had a gift certificate, otherwise I wouldn't typically go to a pizza chain. Salad was lame--100% assembled Sysco ingredients. Stromboli was fine, but the calzone left lots to be desired. The best part is the beer list, which is varied and decent. Don't be fooled, though, when Old Chicago says they have 101 beers, they include Coors, Coors Light, and Bud, Bud Light and etc. in the list.

  • Brent T.

Solid, if unspectacular pizza. Certainly not Chicago style at all. But, the flavors were good, the prices were cheap, and the beer selection is awesome. Plus, they have pool tables and plently of TV's for watching sports. A good time was had by all.

  • Brett H.

They have endless, excellent microbrews on tap for a decent price and the food is quite good. Try the pepperoni rolls appetizer!

Old Chicago sucks balls. All of the girls that work there look like they were GHB-ed and dumped in a tanning booth for 6 months. No seriously though the service there is so bad that even if all their food didn't taste like it was microwaved I'd stay away.

  • Dan B.

It's not chicago style pizza but it is still awsome. A chicago themed restaurant. Owners used to live in Chi town and now are bringing the feel of the city to the West. Beer selection rocks!

If you love bleu cheese you HAVE to go to old chicago. I pretty much go there every time I'm home because I love their salads with homemade bleu cheese dressing so much. On weekdays they have a great lunch menu where you can get a personal pizza, half sandwich, or lasagna AND a salad for only like $5. Plus they have tons of beer on tap which goes great with their boneless buffalo wings (w/ bleu cheese dressing of course). My brother loves the Double Deckaroni pizza and my friend Clint won't pass up the Italian Nachos followed by the giant chocolate cookie which I swear is always bigger than his head. As far as the bar goes, it can be pretty fun, there are two pool tables and there are always people there. There is also an Old Chicago in the mall which I would recommend hitting up for their lunch specials mid-shopping trip, you will get way more for you money than in the gross food court.
