Delicious authentic Mexican cuisine in Boise. Great flavors! Friendly staff. We searched the city for some pod with flavor and found it here.

Not a fan actually, Too expensive we spent $70.00 on TACOS. Yes they were handmade tortillas okay but the rice tasted like they reheated it in the microwave the beans were good, the meat was cut so small and tiny, too much tortilla not enough meat on the tacos, the salsa too hot to eat and I like spicy, the service was alright, the horchata was the BEST thing about our meal. I WON'T COME HERE AGAIN.

AVOID!!! I thought about giving this place 2 stars since the food was edible, but why?? When there are many, many other places to get better Mexican food. 5pm on a Saturday night, not a single other booth occupied. Only ones there (I wonder why). Still, it's a free dinner, why not? Place felt dingy and dirty. No atmosphere at all. Chicken fajita was covered in this weird red sauce. Again, edible, but not memorable at all. Small portions, odd flavors, and just overall strange vibes. Go to Jalapeno's on Franklin or even Café Ole. You'll thank me.

I went to Los Mariachis today specifically for their Menudo. I received a very large bowl with lots of tripe and a sideplate with onions, red pepper flakes, and oregano. I also asked them to add hominy and asked for some corn totillas -- both free. It was just fantastic. All the ingredients were fresh and there was a lot of tripe. The tortillas were homemade. I don't know where else you can get menudo in Boise, but I'll certainly return on a Saturday or Sunday, when they have the menudo. The staff was also very friendly.

I'm not sure if this restaurant is understaffed or what but it took us an hour to get the food we ordered. It was a Sunday night and not too busy. I had the chicken Flautas which I thought were pretty good and my boyfriend had some sort of seafood burrito. He wasn't too happy with it. Our waitress was sweet, it's just too bad everything took forever. I don't think we will be back.

Worst mexican food ever. I think that pretty much sums it up! The music was the best part until they turned it off midway through the meal... if you can call it that.

I want to start off saying the service was great, a young lady greeted us with a big smile and a hello. She was attentive and spoke to us in Spanish. We ordered a chile relleno, a lunch special of chile colorado and some chicken enchiladas. There is a sign in the window that reads " handmade tortillas made daily". The sign was what got me excited. When we recieved our food I started with the chile relleno , which was basically an omelette stuffed with cheese and very small pieces of green chile. This is not a proper chile relleno and it was very disappointing. The chile colorado was very peppery the pieces of beef were small. The rice on the plate was dry and tasted as if it was frozen and reheated . The enchilada was bland with very little taste to it. What really was strange were the tortillas , they did not taste handmade and they had a funky smell to them. I probably will not come back.

The only reason I gave Los Mariachis a 5 star review is because a six star review is unavailable!!!! After eating here once I was already hooked, and trust me, I know a lot about addiction!! You can smell the authenticity from a mile away. Walking through the doors is almost like knock knock knocking on heavens doors! The service is simply unmatched. Their chips and salsa are to die for!!! After going there once I had to go two more days in succession! Having different plates every time, I can honestly say there is no place quite like Los Mariachis. But wait, there's more!!! The prices are so low I thought I was at Taco Bell for a second!!! I would definitely recommend this place to homies and friends alike.

Los mariachis is the most under rated restaurant in boise. This place has everything you could ask for from a Mexican restaurant. The decorations on the interior, the staff, the music, the feel. It was all there. The prices made you feel like you actually were in Mexico with how cheap it was, and the food was almost too good for me eat. Every time I drive by there I see very few cars in the lot, but that is probably because they deliver (Although dining in there is an experience all on itself) And do you think that is all? No way jośe, they give you bean dip AND salsa with your chips. This is a top 5 restaurant in the United States. It's a must have.

Always a great place for Mexican food in Boise. Staff is always friendly and attentive. One of the better Mexican menus in town. Lots of variety and a great selection of seafood dishes. Just go..you will be happy you did.

The food was good. The service was ok. Probably about as good as it is going to get in Boise for Mexican Food, I am not sure that is saying that much.

I ordered the lunch special, Enchiladas Suizas on Tuesday) and found them to be well prepared. My waitress was very nice and made sure everything was ok, but didn't overdo it.

It's a Sunday night. Just about every Mexican place is closed except Los Betos and you are steering clear for fear of rot gut. What are you going to do? Head to Los Mariachis, of course! I went for the LA TAMPIQUEÑA $13.95 Steak stuffed with shrimp and rolled in fried bacon. Served with our Mariachi's special sauce, rice, beans, sour cream and guacamole, and melted Jack cheese on top. Very good! Shrimp. steak. bacon. FTW!? Not even bubba cookery can rival this. Perfect for that recovering vegan in you. Guests reported that the chicken taco salad sucked. Taquitos were alright I guess. It's true about the frosty beer mugs. I don't really agree with the practice because it kills the taste.

This place is amazing! Great food, great service, even better prices. They make their own tortillas, and the Carne y camarón is the best thing ever invented! They also have very good margaritas.

Los Mariachi's is where hubby and I always go when we want good Mexican food and great service. They may not offer haute cuisine, but everything I've ever had on their menu has been tasty, filling, and offered enough for leftovers. Our favorites include their carne asada burrito and pollo la crema... and seriously, their service is great! We always see the same faces, which is a great sign for a business, and the food comes out very quickly and is piping hot. Check them out, you won't regret it!!

What's the best part about Mexican restaurants? That's right... chips and salsa. This place is pretty good in that regard - fresh salsa and warm chips. MmmMMmm... Another big plus - bottles of beer in frosty mugs! Yes - they give you a fresh frosty mug with each bottle. SWEET. The food was okay, too... I had a taco, tamale, enchilada combo plate. It was pretty damn filling. I was a little disappointed with the taco - just a hard shell Taco Bell-esque taco. The enchilada and tamale were okay. My roommie got a "original mariachi's margarita" and that thing was HUGE. I think the menu said 32oz. =P Overall not a bad place... about $20 for food, beer, tax and tip. Close enough to walk to, too. Thinking about going again for more beers =) ---------------------- UPDATE 10/2/08 OMG... I just had the Camorones de Tocino... they were freakin' delicious. But then again... bacon wrapped shrimp, what's not to love?! hahaha... DELICIOUS. Bacon wrapped shrimp over rice with Monterey Jack cheese with some guac and a side of tortillas... omg omg omg... haha. It is sooooOOOoo good. Annnnd... beers in Frosty Mugs. *DROOL* The only thing that doesn't give this place a 5 is... the table guac wasn't super good. It was okay... but I'd stick with the table salsa. I stick with the BACON WRAPPED SHRIMP. *drool* The BACON WRAPPED SHRIMP + table guac + 2 for 1 Mexican Beer Thursdays(!!!) = $25

Eh.....good Margarita but food not so much. Won't be back. Once we got our food the waitress didn't come back.

One of the best mexican food places I have found in Boise. Great price and really nice people working there. My favorite dish is the Chipotle Chicken and the Fajita Burrito. Really decent prices too.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
