I guess I wrote a review on the wrong business, since soneone was kind enough to let me know, I'll go there to check it out. Love when your opinion matters

(Harry's) is a great spot to grab a beer or two and watch a game. Fun atmosphere and decent food.

This restaurant actually prompted me to start a Yelp account. I feel the only thing this restaurant has going is the location, which itself is lackluster anymore. Everything is Sysco or straight outta some other box. I can get good beer in plenty of locations. Step it up guys, it seems like it use to be good...hand make fish n' chips, roast beef for French dip... don't YOU know what good food is? The service was good enough. It was summer and they had a major fly issue.

This is by far our family's favorite place to go on weekends when the weather is nice. Hands down the best patio in Boise's north end. The food is great, friendly service. Dog friendly atmosphere on deck. Great place to watch football games.

Very solid local pub. Good beers and pub cuisine. Great spot for a beer and a sandwich after a hard ride in the foothills with friends. Like the atmosphere a lot.

I've been visiting Harry's.. as this place is more commonly known, a few times a year for about six years now, as it's close to my place of work. The food is wonderful, the staff friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. I particularly like to head to Harry's in the spring and summer months for lunch on their patio/deck. Go in hungry, and unless you are a picky eater, you'll come out satisfied (food wise!) and refreshed. The burgers, fish and chips and nachos are particular favorites, oh, and try the pastrami sandwich! Noms!

Good place. I moved back to Boise last year and I forgot this was Harry's. Anyway, good food, best outdoor place I Boise. Little disappointed last visit though...had fruit and cheese platter and the grapescwere old. Try this place, you will be happy.

I've had fantastic meals at this place all 4 times we've eaten here (we live within walking distance). This place is much more reliably delicious than any other restaurant in Hyde park... Best salads in Boise, love the French dip, good entrees too.

Had a great snack of onion rings and quesadillas along with a pitcher of Fresh Squeezed from Deschutes. We had a great server named Shavone who took the time to tell us about the beers even though she was helping many other hungry tables. Great times.

This place is the best. I'll stop here every time I'm in Boise! Great food, comfortable atmosphere and willing to stand up to bigotry. Good on you Hyde Park Pub and Grill!

We came on a Saturday afternoon after hitting the market, and enjoyed a cool, leisurely brunch. The menu offered breakfast fare, like eggs benedict and florentine, french toast, egg/hashbrown/toast/fruit/meat combos. Lunch offerings were a few sandwiches and salads, and appetizers like macaroni and cheese or hummus plates. I ordered scrambled eggs with tofu subbed for meat, along with a salad. No complaints: buttery eggs, fresh salad greens, and nicely fried tofu. I was happy to have a vegetarian option substituted without a charge. Usually I just cut out the meat but get the same price, so here I felt taken care of. My mom's eggs florentine were creamy and she loved the hollandaise. My dad's mac and cheese, while small, was okay. He said it tasted of flour and wasn't quite cheesy enough. My grandma liked her fish and chips, which had large, fried nuggets that tasted nicely of fish, as well as hot fries. Our server was pleasant, though a little slow. She might have wanted us to have time, so I can't fault her for that. The patio was packed but inside the restaurant it was cool and quiet, with tables spaced enough for a lot of privacy. A solid brunch choice. I'm looking forward to returning for dinner to see how they do; I'm expecting a fun evening.

Our usual Hyde park lunch joint was too crowded last week so we tried something new. The service was on the good side of average and the fries were amazing. I ordered the Ruben and was mildly disappointed. While mostly tasty I don't think it was worth nearly 10 dollars. I like a lot of corned beef and kraut on my Rubens but this was mostly mustard. Good but not great. My brother felt the same way about his Elwood Blues sandwich: not as good as he would hope for nearly $10. Though he said the spicy sauce on his sandwich was great. My kiddo LOVED the chicken strip meal though. I will likely give it a second chance if the opportunity arises but won't go out of my way to come back.

Sorry. This was disappointing. Went on Sunday 7/26 at 4pm. Service soooo slow. Took 5 minutes to be greeted and given a menu. Food was very fair at best. Won't be back....too bad....good location. Beer was cold at least!

I assume this restaurant gets more positive buzz for its location than it's actual quality of food. I traveled down to Hyde Park twice to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, both times have been the same. The actual establishment is nice. Large TVs with sports and a long bar for eating/drinking. There is an outdoor eating patio, but I didn't sit there. Too many flies to enjoy a meal. The menu is small, but has a good enough selection that most groups will find something they want. I personally like the burgers. They are large and flavorful. From this review alone I would rate a high 4 even 5 star. Unfortunately this establishment has some of the worst waitresses I've been around. It takes a long time to get orders taken, drinks refilled, and checks delivered. I've sat in my booth waiting for my check as the waitress discussed her current relationship with what I assume as one of the regulars. Mind you the waitress only had 3 tables so it wasn't busy. Each time I've gone has been the same story. We eventually have to get up and ask for our check. I don't like feeling like a hostage. Because of the poor service I can't rate this higher than a 2. If management makes some changes I will gladly come back to redo my review.

Hyde Park neighborhood is very close to us so we decided to try Hyde Park Pub and Grill for our weekly date night dinner this week. We like to try places we haven't been to before. It was a lovely evening so we sat on the patio. I so wish I had thought to get our server's name but she is excellent and I hope her employers know what a valuable employee they have. I ordered the nightly special which was BBQ Beast (was Thursday evening). This was described as a sandwich with shredded BBQ beef. Upon hearing the onion rings were beer battered I ordered a side of those also. It is so hard to find good beer battered onion rings and those are my favorite. They were amazing and I know I will be going back there anytime I have future cravings for them. Unfortunately my BBQ beast was so spicy it was inedible. I really wish I had been told it would be fire engine hot but our server came to my rescue with humor and grace. She whisked it away and brought me a chicken Caesar wrap which was very good. And we were not charged for the sandwich I was unable to eat. Don had the French dip which he also very much enjoyed. Kudos to Hyde Park Pub and Grill for a lovely evening with good food and excellent service! We will be back!

New to the Boise area and was just looking for an eclectic, friendly place to have a beer and some lunch. Hyde Park Pub & Grill was just that kind of place! The was nice and cold, service pleasant, prompt, and curtious; and the freshly prepared chicken salad has both great flavor and texture. The chicken was moist, the bacon bits added the crunch, along with the colorful array of vegetables. A pleasant lunch experience, to recommend to my friends!

We stopped by for a late afternoon lunch, the happy hour drinks were totally disappointing with warm beer that even though it was a Hefeweizen should not be as cloudy as it was. The pours were skimpy at best and the tonic was totally flat. The blue cheese burger had a good beefy taste with plenty of blue cheese. The highlight of our mid afternoon snack were the French fries, yes sireee Bob, we had a half basket of sweet potato and half a basket of regular fries. The fries where hot, fresh and surprisingly NOT greasy!

My husband got the crazy notion of trying this place with our toddlers in tow tonight. After checking with the hostess to make sure it was child friendly, we grabbed a couple of high chairs and settled down to order. I was pleasantly surprised to see my current favorite wine, St. Chapelle's Soft Huckleberry, on the wine list. In addition to wine, we ordered fried mozzarella as an appetizer. We were surprised at how quickly it arrived. It had a unique batter and was made with real mozzarella - very yummy and not particularly greasy for fried bar food. Our meals arrived quickly as well, chicken tenders with fries for me to share with the boys and buffalo wings for my husband. I wasn't thrilled with the chicken tenders. Supposedly it had a tempura batter, but it seemed like the typical chicken tender batter to me. Still, the chicken was tender and, like the fried cheese, it wasn't very greasy. My husband, a Buffalo native, was pleased with his wings. All in all the service is excellent, the location is great and the food is good.

Save your time and palate, go somewhere else. I visited this "pub" while I was visiting my brother that lives in the area. He wasn't off work yet, so I found this place on yelp and intended to post up at the bar for several hours drinking and working from my laptop. It didn't happen. I should have walked out when I saw the decor was more run down diner than pub or grill. Major speed bump - unrelated to the food, but no worries, I'll get to the food - one reason I stopped in here was they said they had wifi - it doesn't work. Unfortunately, I ordered before I found this out. The bartender fully admitted most people can't use it but said the kitchen staff got it to work so it must be my laptop, tablet, AND cell phone that are the problem. Beer - for being a pub their taps are minimal, selection is ok for the number they have - this is the only thing that earned this place two stars. Food - could not be more disappointed. Many of the menu items are fried The salad was out of a bag and dressing from some giant jar bought at costco I'm sure. The chicken sandwich was lacking in any form of flavor, I'm not sure they know what salt or pepper is... The bartender informed me what is listed as their "own special sauce" for the chicken is italian salad dressing. The bartender was super nice and I'm sure if you're looking for bad diner food and a PBR you'll love this place.

The food is great pub food, the beers on tap are diverse! Home base for a lot of Packer fans during football season. Great place to hit up on the north end on a summer eve. The bartenders are friendly...the servers not so much! I have been a very frequent customer over the years...for this is my neighborhood pub. Sunday football...tuesday trivia...and so on. If there wasn't trivia and the proximity, I would not continue to go there. As I go to places that have servers that understand what customer service is, the more displeased I am with the servers at Hyde Park Pub. I tip that standard 15-17%, because I know it is there income, but why do I care more than they do?

Overall, the food is decent. I wished they used better buns on the burgers. It would make a huge difference. One standout on their menu is their wings, which are fantastic. There isn't anything terribly unique about the sauce, but the quality of the wings is always excellent. The service is always good, the place is clean and friendly, they have a respectable selection of beers and the owners are really nice people. It's a great neighborhood pub & grill. Expect to spend around 1 $15 - $25 for an entree, beers and a tip.

I've eaten here a few times while in Boise. I'm a sucker for a pub. The food rocks here. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The fry sauce is so good. Its got to have horseradish in it. I love where its located. The North End is probably my favorite place in Boise. And I love that this place seems like one of the places where you don't realize how awesome it will be from outside.

This is the absolute best place to watch a Green Bay Packer game in town. Make sure you get in on the high five rounds after each touchdown....eat the fish and chips (so good!). Fried food, is good food. A local fave.

This is a fun, causal place for decent food and cheap beers. A nice local spot for watching a game, grabbing an appetizer or burger, or just having some drinks after work. Staff are really friendly & nice. Food is solid but not great. decent burger. More of a sports bar feel to it. Nice having a casual, cheap pub like this in Hyde Park though. Patio is really nice and great for people watching on a warm summer or fall afternoon, as it's located right on a popular street corner. Enjoy it for what it is!

This is a great place in a great neighborhood. We came here one Saturday evening for a date night. The weather was lovely so we sat outside on their patio (enchanting). There was live music being played (a little twang country for my tastes, but charming none-the-less). We ordered their quesadilla to share and each had a house salad. Their house salad is scrumptious--fresh and crisp with varied veggies (much better than the iceberg/hothouse tomato standby that many places seem to serve). The quesadilla was delish. I enjoyed a glass of wine (can't remember which, but it was solid). And, my husband ordered one of the 15 beers they have on tap. Overall a lovely place for a date. We enjoyed our light meal, and then headed across the street to Goody's to top it off with some ice cream. Love life in Hyde!

Let me start off by saying that this place is THE hub for displaced Cheeseheads like myself who choose not to sit around a busy sports bar with 15 other games on. The food was typical pub food although I did not have a chance to try out their bratwurst or midwestern dishes. Honestly, I was too focused on the game as well as admiring the crowd that packed the place to be too concerned about the service at that point. After the game (Packers beating the Falcons in the divisional playoffs), the owner bought everyone a round of beers to celebrate the victory. Definitely will return for a visit down Memory Lane/time warp back to my Midwestern roots!

Hyde Park Pub (or Harry's as we know it) is a great place to walk and grab a bite. They offer all natural beef, turkey or veggie patties as alternatives on all their burgers for an extra dollar, and all are worth it! I also love their cobb salad. They have a decent draught beer selection, and always have several seasonal beers to keep it interesting. Harry's is a keeper!

Hyde Park Pub used to be called Harry's and many locals still refer to it by that name. It is in a great location in the heart of Hyde Park of the Boise Northend. It draws a variety of folks from mountain bikers post-ride to football fans catching a game, to the family down the street. The establishment is far from pretentious but has decent pub fare including burgers, sandwiches, a large selection of fried food, and several beer taps. Happy hour is from 4-6 daily with $1 off drafts. This is great neighborhood bar with tasty food, a decent selection of beers, and fabulous staff. Definitely worth a visit!

A decent bar, but I wouldn't go much beyond that. I came here after passing through this 13th street neighborhood one evening after a run around Camel's Back Park. I spotted restaurants right away among the brick buildings and small neighborhood type feel and decided I'd come check the place out. I decided to stop by Hyde Park Pub and Grill with my coworker this evening. Upon entering, it immediately felt like the sort fo small time bar that people come to hang out at. I grabbed my one (and only) happy hour beer before headed out to meet my friend, who was already there. Happy hour is daily 4-6pm and you get a dollar of drafts - not too bad since drafts are usually only $4.25/pint craft and $3.25/pint domestic. They also serve 22oz drafts/domestics and pitchers. After the previous posts' rave on fish and chips (you know me), I decided to try this place out. And since I was pretty hungry, I ordered the Buffalo chips and wings for starters with my friend. The app was okay - but not the best wings and fries I've ever had. In fact, I was a little disappointed with the fries - the menu called for a double order, but I could hardly say that was anything more than a single order (if even that). The fish and chips? They were... regular bar food. Nothing spectacular. I'm starting to forget what the hell I was originally looking for in fish and chips. I feel like I've just had an awesome batch before - hot, fresh, crispy and delicious.... but I've had nothing that compares to it since. I don't even clearly remember my first great fish and chips. That being said... these were your classic pub fish and chips - decent, but not an awe-inspiring meal. Throughout the night, I sampled their selection of Seasonals on draft: Drafter Pale Ale (I like this one), Sierra Nevada Kellerwies, Sam Adams Oktoberfest, and Spatan. They also had Blue Moon as their seasonal... but I'd consider that a domestic really =P Not too shabby a selection and hey, I guess I caught the end of their glass sale - Wednesday nights through September, you can get a Sierra Nevada glass for free with purchase of a Sierra Nevada beer! The actual offer is - get a Sierra Nevada beer and you get it for happy hour price ($1 off) and pay $1 for an extra glass. But basically, you do the math and it's a beer plus a free pint glass =P Overall, not a bad place to be. I'd avoid sitting on the patio - we sat out there and there were a bazillion flies. GROSS. At least sitting inside you'd avoid those... =P

Nice, casual pub in the North End. Burgers are yummy! Lot's of other good comfort food choices. Service is excellent and friendly. Went once on a game day and the place was packed!

It's nothing fancy and a nice, unassuming place to get a beer. The service is excellent, even on busy trivia nights, and the wait staff is always quick to take new orders, fill your glass, or split checks. The food is disappointing for bar food, and I would recommend against ordering the buffalo chicken sandwich which is largely inedible. Trivia is lively, and it's great that it's free, but the slow one-song-per-question pace can make the night drag on. .

Harry's is a great place to have a beer and watch a game. Howvever, stay away from the menu or take an extra dose of Lipitor. The food is fried and uninspired. Not vegetarian friendly by any means. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and there was a chunk of ham inside of it; I returned it to the server who confessed the kitchen made it with ham, and she asked that they pull it off, and then she served it to me. Gross!

I love this place. Nice atmoshphere, nice beer selection and I love their South western burger. Can't say much though about their other food. I keep ordering the same thing. Good place to have a beer and grab a bite.

I've eaten at Hyde Park Pub & Grill about 4 times. What is remarkable to me, is the warmth of the staff. You CAN be an efficient server and still kind and thoughtful. The food is stellar... and if you aren't sure what to get, ask the bartender. Wonderful ambience, like being in a friend's house, and a great clientele. Tonight, I had quesadillas, huckleberry wine and wonderful conversation with another patron from the other end of the spectrum...The place lends itself to fun and sociability. Thank you Don and Greg....Oh and the kitchen staff...you guys are AWESOME!!!

The HPP&G is "OK". It really didn't do a lot for me. The beer was cold and the atmosphere is OK but it just didn't have that certain something that makes a person go to the same bar time and time again. I suppose it could have been the luke warm service (not bad but not good either). It had a bit of the "Northend" Earth-Muffin attitude about it....

This place is SO YUMMY!! I visited this place with my mom who was visiting out of town. We were seated on the patio by choice because it was such a beautiful day outside! The place is so charming outside, perfect for a date, a family or just friends hanging out. We both ordered Fish and Chips and I've been dreaming about them ever since!! It was served piping hot and crispy, just the way it's supposed to be! The tartar sauce was excellent too! They serve beer and wine and their menu includes all sorts of sandwiches, salads, fried foods and burgers and whatnot. I can't wait to go back!! Oh, the service was excellent as well!

I like coming here. You can people watch from a booth by a window or from the patio. The food is perfectly fine without being pretentious. There's always a game on the TV and a large collection of northenders having a good time.
