I love their bacon cheeseburgers, they are always so fresh compared to other places I've tried! Always come to this spot whenever I want a good burger, highly recommend.

Holy foodgasim! The burgers here are to die for! The best hamburger I have ever eaten and they are huge, honestly unless you want to ingest a small food baby order the little burger... and the little fry you will save a lot of money and still get the full effects of this fantastic joint! The dining area was very clean the customer service was nice (although I really wish someone would have told us that the amount of food we ordered came in large portions and could feed a small army) Over all we loved it and will be back!

I love five guys! I've never been to one that isn't absolutely amazing! It was clean and quick, and had plenty of tables. And omg, fry sauce! Good old Boise offers it everywhere! One thing I always miss when I leave! The fries here were great, they usually don't have any salt...

It's been awhile since I've been to fives guys for a burger. So today craving a burger for a late lunch I was driving by and decided to stop in. Ordered my burger, frys, and a small drink. Filled up my drink from the new cool beverage machine with multiple options! Super cool! Sat down with my incredibly delicious burger and my spicy cajun fries and thought to myself.... Why have I not come here for such a long time I thought to myself? Then I looked down at my receipt and realized I just paid $13.33 for a burger, frys, and a drink. Is that experience? Or am I cheap? I left very full which is a good thing because I'm out of money now. :)

We went to supper at this location with my mom who has a wheat allergy. When she ordered her burger without the bun the order taker asked if it was a allergy. .. upon finding out it was made sure to prevent cross contamination. Wish i could give extra stars for that. Our meals came out fairly quick made perfectly to order. Service was friendly.... love that 1 order of fries was enough for our whole party. Free appetizers (peanuts) are a plus. I do also love the warning of peanuts in premise signs. ...

Hmmmmmm... burger. That's what Homer Simpson would say about this place, and I would agree. It's a good burger place. I pretty sure they sell other stuff... pretty sure... but I guess I don't really know since I always walk right up to the counter and cheeseburger is all I can think of. They serve a good burger here and it's a burger that's not afraid to be a burger. It's not trying to be low fat, and it's not trying to be vegetarian, it's not trying to be all that good for you, but it does taste good! And hey, everything in moderation, and I'm not afraid to stop by and indulge myself every once in a while. I like that you can add whatever toppings to your burger order and they are all free. Nice. They call you to the counter when your order is ready and so my burger experience has always been hot and delicious. Until today, I didn't realize that they have a single patty version of their burger, called the "little cheeseburger" or "little burger". Next time, I'll order that. The regular burger is two patties and that's more than I need for lunch these days. I've stopped ordering fries here, though. They just aren't cooked crispy enough for me. I think many people like them this way, but it's not my style. They are made from Idaho potatoes, so they should be good quality, just not cooked the way I like them. Five Guys is known for their huge fry portions, so if you like their fries, you will certainly get your money's worth. The burger is on the greasy side, but that's normally part of a good burger experience (at least in my book). Sure, I've had better burgers, and I've had fancier burgers. There is another fast food burger chain that I like better (but it's not in Boise). But for $7 I think 5 Guy's Burgers and Fries is a decent choice for the Boise area.

Great food. My complaint is that I had to wait 35 minutes for my order. They knew they were behind and didn't bother to warn me it would be awhile. I think twice about going there next time, especially because Smash Burger is just up the street.

I am a fan. The burgers are really good and all of the five guys are consistent with each other. You wont find a bad burger here.

This place is always busy. I loved the bacon, cheeseburger and fries. The dining area is clean and the staff is always helpful. I am willing to pay a few extra dollars for quality food and this is it. If you are not willing to pay the extra cost go to McDonalds, Wendys, or Burger King. IMO this is a much better place to eat and enjoy the atmosphere.

Five guys is pretty good food!! The amount of fries they give you is insane, its enough to feed a family of 4! The burgers are really fresh and juicy and have great taste especially since you can build your own the way you want it! My BIGGEST dislike is the price I spend $22 for just myself and my fiancée that's restaurant prices which isnt a good deal to me so five guys is a once a month or once in a while place to go!!

Very good burger and fries, one of my favorite fast food places, but expensive! They recently reduced the size of their fries, and seedless buns would be nice too, :)

Hmmm... their response to my post was to ask me to fill out forms for them on their own internal systems. No thanks Five Guys. Why can't one of you take what I have written on Yelp and transfer it to your sites? I don't work for you. And, unfortunately, I don't frequent your burger joints anymore.

I was planning to come here with Dad for the first time, and a friend recommended that we get small burgers and share a smaller fry. I disregarded her advice, and ordered big burgers and bigger fries. What a mistake I made! Their small burger is at least the size of a standard burger everywhere else and the larges are huge. And the fries are even bigger! So now, I know to get the 'small' sized items. And I look forward to scrapbooking nights because my friend and I typically walk over this way from the store at the other end of the strip mall. We've always been served hot burgers with great toppings. The fries are fabulous -- fresh cut and they even have a sign stating what farm, city, and state they came from. If you're needing a little snack before your meal is up, there are free peanuts to enjoy. Friendly service & nice bathrooms.

Just Raised prices again. Decent burger, but extremely overpriced. You can't get a regular burger, small fry and drink for under $12. Again not bad food, but you can find the same or better for a 30% discount up and down fairview.

If you haven't tried 5 Guys- Go! They have the best Hamburgers in town, hands down. Also order the SMALL fry, they give you plenty-enough for 2 people, especially with there large burger. So it is a little confusing if you have never been there before so ill explain to make you day experience easier. When you get to the cashier you just tell her what size hamburger you want ( small or big) (the big has 2 patties on it )and tell them what toppings you want on it- all the toppings are listed on the sign above- then sit back and wait for them to call your number and eat as many peanuts as you want also get the fry sauce its next to the coke machine, its Delicious with the fries.... I like the fact that they wrap up the burger in tinfoil when you eat it, its piping hot I will be back..

I haven't been to this location in awhile since I was underwhelmed on previous visits. Don't get me wrong. Their burgers have good flavor and you get a lot of bang for your buck. As others have said, they are very generous with the fries. A large can easily satisfy a family of four (if two of the four are small children.) However, there's nothing that sets them apart from our own home cooking or other burger places. The only reason I thought of them tonight is because they have a downtown location I wanted to try since we enjoy walking downtown with our kids. This location is closer, but so are a lot of other good burger places. That said, Five Guys is a lot better than In 'N Out. Never understood the hype about that chain.

I'd give the burger (large cheese) 4 stars. The fries would also get 5. BUT the price, gets 2 stars. $7 for a fast food burger is ridiculous. By the time you add fries and a drink you're at$12-13. Too spendy. That's why I rated one lower over all.

I ordered the little bacon cheeseburger with mayo and grilled mushrooms....loved it! My regret is that I should have ordered regular instead of little so I could have had 2 patties instead of one... i didn't know it would be that great. I prefer Five Guys to In n' Out because I have more choices for toppings...wish they'd open a branch in NorCal.

Five Guys - The Best - Across the country and in Idaho too - The Best (I guess I like Five guys duh!)

While In-N-Out Burger sets the gold standard, Five Guys wins the silver medal. Their burgers are great and they offer lots of extras. I love how they highlight their potato growers by having the sacks stacked on the floor. Their fries are excellent, too.

5 guys is awesome! They have one of the best burgers in town! They are pretty fast at getting your order out and they are very friendly. If you have not tried them yet, YOU NEED TO! Go give them a try. You will not regret it.

Just what you'd expect from an In-N-Out wanna-b. pretty good burger. pretty good fries. pretty good service. pretty good price. not a loser but not setting the world afire either.

I have never found a better burger than this one. Terrific fries as a bonus. They deserve all their national rave reviews. The only thing close to this is Smashburger. Still, a distant second.

  • Sheila W.

This place makes a great burger and the staff is friendly. The portions are gigantic-their regular burgers have two patties and the fries come in large cups. They have the best choices of free toppings in town! I've gotten my order quickly and exactly right every time I've been here. Plus, you can get bottomless free peanuts while you wait. The only drawback to this place is the (lack of) atmosphere. I can't stand the bright walls and the loudness of the place, I always feel like I'm eating in a crowded bus station whenever I'm there. But, still a recommend!

A really good burger! I do not agree that they are an In N Out wannabe. These Ca. snobs need to get over themselves and IN N Out and stop thinking that EVERY burger place is trying to copy them. 5 guys started in Va. which is way far away where In N Out started. Their fries are really good! they taste great with the cajun seasoning. Remember 1 large will be enough for at least 2 ppl.To me they taste like a hand pressed burger that you would make at home and so do the fries!

  • Whitney S.

Not that impressed actually. The fresh cut fries were good for what they are and the service was awesome. But hey, a burger that falls apart every time.... no thanks. Not for the price. (Regular burger, large fry and a soda - $10). The casual theme and peanuts are cute but I only go when the guys at work are paying, and even then, I try to stick to a soda. There is a lot to be improved!

Great Burgers and Fries! Really tasty food. I love how they yell when you come in! Two at the door!

We are regulars here so I'm surprised I haven't written a review yet. One of my op 2 fast burgers right next to Main St. Burger. Giant bags of fries! Only downside is having to listen to blaring 80's rock while eating. I love Poison and Ozzy as much as the next guy but... Ok small sacrifice for an amazing burger. Order it with EVERYTHING! Good boy.

You want a good burger and fry fast? This is the place. Nothing fancy and that's the point. Fries are in there with Bitter Creek Ale House's. Try them out. Well worth it. Always Idaho potatoes.

I liked it. I like burgers, usually I have to put mayo on them in restaurants, but I rarely will eat a fast food burger. Good: beef seems seasoned well enough and very very juicy (see: Bad). Enough options for stuff on the burger including the standards and some grilled options. The cheese was melty and plentiful (though processed, which I do like but many don't). Fries were greasy, but not overly so. I did enjoy the fries, the insides were squishy and the outsides were crisp. They had plenty of salt and good potato flavor. I really like that they're from Idaho. Bad: beef was super greasy, totally didn't need any mayo. Burger itself a little bit with the falling apart, the stuff on it was in small bits. The onions weren't sweets, more sharps. Afterwards I felt like I ate a greasebomb. A large order of fries is a bit much for two people, it is a stuffed 22oz cup PLUS. I don't like the soda selection but what am I going to do? My favorite (dr P) is not so widely in restaurants, and as it turns out I didn't need the calories! Despite greasebomb aspects, would go back and order a small hamburger without the mayo (today ordered a regular-sized cheeseburger with mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles) and see how that goes with a small fry to share. Today was way too much food and a ton of fat, but tasty. Other menu items included hot dogs and some sort of veggie option, not sure if it was a veggie dog or some kind of veggie sandwich, would have to ask.

I guess I went in here with high hopes because I kept hearing how awesome it was. I liked the free peanuts to snack on while waiting for your order. I had to have someone in my party explain to me the difference between burgers. Apparently a regular burger is a whole pound of meat and a little burger is a half pound of meat? But that didn't seem right..when I received the burger the patty was that of a McDonald's value menu burger. I liked their choices of toppings. The grilled onions aren't anything special since I don't think they season them with anything. They also pad the burger with iceburg lettuce if you opt to have lettuce on your burger - so avoid that option if you can't stand a crispy lettuce burger. I also didn't really like the fact that you can't ask for a rare burger since I usually don't like ground beef well done. Their fries come in a drinking cup which makes it kind of hard to pick through all of the baby fries they seem to put in there. It seemed like the whole cup was baby fries so I kept getting fry sauce all over my fingers. Their fries were alright, but I prefer Dick's Drive In or In-n-Out fries much better. It was neat that they tell you where the fries are from that day (Shelley, ID on 1/1/2010). It was a little overwhelming to have all of their newspaper clippings surrounding you saying how great they are. I didn't really concur with the newspaper clippings. Most of them were from Washington D.C. anyway. Apparently their deliciousness didn't carry over to Idaho. I didn't feel too well after eating their meal and neither did the others in my party. I'd say if I ever went back I'd probably only eat the free peanuts and order a Coke.

The burgers were pretty good, and the orders are handled expediently. -But how can a burger place not have MILK SHAKES?!?!

    (3)
  • Brian H.

I seem to be going against the norm when I say that their burgers aren't THAT big. I guess they're big in the psychological sense that you're getting two patties when you originally assume you're getting only one. Got the bacon cheeseburger (i.e. double bacon cheeseburger) twice, but it's the same price and no bigger than a double bacon cheeseburger that I'd get anywhere else. My burgers have fallen apart rather easily as well. And when they put the burger in the bag (which you seem to get even if you plan on dining in), the burger is going to get smushed by the huge mound of fries you get if you order a large serving. If you plan to dine in, tell them to leave the burger off to the side. Tastewise, I find them painfully average. You're at the mercy of their "cooked well-done or else" rule. Not even medium-well but well-done. They won't flinch an inch on this issue. Which makes for a more boring burger no matter what kind of seasoning you throw on them. In essence, I can get better and cheaper with an extra five minutes of driving, so I won't be coming back here for the burgers. I WILL be coming back for the fries though. These are top notch fries as it is, but for a chain they're stellar. Hand-cut obviously (out of customer viewing range, but I trust 'em), and seasoned well. I almost feel like a heretic for saying it, but they rival In-N-Out's fries. And I'm glad they're not cut shoestring style here. They are a bit spendy (regular is $2.69 and large is $3.99) but you do get quite a lot. A large order is meant for two or more people. It might be asking too much out of a chain, but I wish they'd make their own fry sauce and not serve that stock sauce that is used. I find the decor and ambience nauseating. It has all the quaintness and visual flair of a packed break room at Home Depot, and I know my Home Depot break rooms. I can't wait to get my fries and get out of there. Employees here also like to loudly bark out things and do it with flair, like they're practicing to sell peanuts at a ballpark. It gives the place a bit more of a "cheesy diner" feel, but I'll be damned if I know what they're saying half the time since they go overboard on the flair aspect and can't simply and clearly just yell out what they need to say. Five Guys is certainly a cut above the usual fast food chain, but it's not up in the elite class.

I took my MIL to Five Guys while we were out shopping. The cashier was great and explained to us how the toppings worked and was very patient while we decided what we wanted. The food was amazing, delicious burger, cooked perfectly and the fries were hot and crispy. A winner!

This place was pretty good... It kinda reminded me of In-N-Out (sorry i don't want to compare , but it really gave me that vibe) The customer service was decent. I meant the cashier could have been a lot more nicer and not have given me an attitude -- when I asked what was in the burgers.. Gessss.. But the food was great. The sauce was good, the meat was cooked just right and I really enjoy what they had on their menu, price is decent.. and yeah! :). Yum
