Country donuts have a great variety of the tipical pastries you'd expect from a donut shop. They also have the usual drinks to accompany your order of donuts. The service is friendly and they're quick to serve the constant morning flow of customers. I stop here for their maple bars.

The donuts are pretty good; better than the grocery store fare in the area. The service could be better. I've never stopped by here and been greeted by a person who seems happy to be at work.

Great donuts, iffy service. Buttermilk bars are the best!

Last week, on National Donut Day, our boss brought in Country Donuts for the office staff. I've had donuts from here before, and they are always stellar. Not too doughy or too sweet, and always taste super fresh! There was one covered in a coffee cake type crumble that was deeeee-vine! It was moist and flavorful. The maple bars are kind of sweet, but I wouldn't expect any less. They are open late, so I'll have to pop in sometime for a late-night snack.

The product which is easily 4-5 stars was the highlight of my visit but remember it's about the EXPERIENCE. Based on my visit it is 2 stars but I will be back and hope to have a better experience, I also hope my pictures serve as a record to see how long it takes the molding to get fixed. -I will say the variety of these encased little treasures was indeed a sight to see. Sadly you see no little signs as to what anything is, this is poor sales and marketing by the owners. I opted for a classic which is the Boston Cream $1.50 and it was delectable! Everything that makes a good doughnut was executed perfectly. My first bite was soft, chocolatey, and then the cream hit and I was in heaven. The bite as a whole was a bit sweet for my taste but I imagine with a hot beverage it would be in harmony. ***THE BAD - My first impression as per other reviewers complaints were how run down and dirty the place was. As per my pictures you can see pure neglect with dirty floors, windows, broken door, and even molding that badly needs repaired. -What was worse than the dirtiness was the service! * Seems from previous reviewers this has been a problem for many. *I was informed as I went to pay with my debit card it would be a $5 minimum (really?) I asked the guy why didn't you tell me this before and do you usually tell people? He said "yes, we tell everyone". I sat down next to the register and observed and a slew of customers came through and none got told, that means the gentleman lied to me. I did observe this younger guy and he was maybe being trained. *Next I watch the older guy sweep the floor behind the counter, a customer comes in and he greets him. The guy is ready to order and says he knows what he wants. The worker says one min and finishes sweeping the floor THEN helps the guy. I could not believe he made this old man wait while he swept a floor.

Donuts seemed stale and not fresh. Yeah they are large, ginormous, but expensive as well. $14 for probably like 7-10 donuts. Customer service is almost nonexistent. One day I was craving baklava and remembered they had it. Stopped in to get 8 piece to go and was met buy a guy that appeared from the back of the kitchen. Asked what I wanted and so I told him. He grabbed 8 pieces and just threw them without care in a brown paper bag that he just threw to me across the counter. (????) No bye and no thank you....came home, opened the bag to find pieces baklava split into thin layers (expected it). At this point I didn't care and just wanted to satisfy my craving. The baklava was dry, stale, and tasted like it was 3 months old. Had one bite and threw the rest in the trash. I want to force myself to like this place but I just can't. Sorry :(

As I am leaving town to go back home to Tacoma, Wa I always make sure I always stop in at Country Donuts. Donuts are always fresh and delicious. One drawback that scarred me a employee was touching his mouth with his hands as he was serving me. It was really disgusting. One star for unsanitary food handling, and one star for dirty business and restrooms! I'm really disappointed I hope to come back next month when I in town again.

First of all? Their doughnuts are haaaaauge! Second of all? They will enchant your eyes to a point that even though you entered the shop knowing that you were craving a buttermilk bar, that you must immediately have a buttermilk bar or die, you find yourself standing in front of the case stuttering... Umm...is that...are there...chocolate...chips? ON that maple bar? Is that...one...SINGLE...apple fritter? I was able to get it together long enough to actually order the buttermilk bar (AND a maple bar with chocolate chips...don't judge me!). The buttermilk bar was easily the largest, most perfectly prepared buttermilk bar I've had in all of Boise (and I have had some buttermilk bars, my people!). The maple bar was also a delight. My dining companion ordered their apple fritter which he promptly ate with such an intense singular focus, I have to believe it was the apple fritter of his dreams come to life. The variety is wonderful, their prices are perfect, and the service was lovely. The place could have been a bit cleaner, but I have to believe the doughnut demand left little time to spritz the outside of the doughnut cases as often as they'd like (if I was a kid, in a moment of frenzied delight at the colorful confections contained within, I'd probably place my hands and face on the outside of the case as well...really, I had a hard time resisting as a grown woman). Get to it!

I really can't add anything that hasn't already been said about country donuts. They are the best donuts that i have tried in the Treasure Valley. The donuts are made fresh daily and are humongous! Try the bear claws or the buttermilk bars they're fantastic.

I challenge anyone to find and recommend a finer donut anywhere in the Treasure Valley. I've heard people say Paul's (like the grocery store... NO), Winchell's (do they exist around here... still, NO) or Dunkin' Donuts (not just no, but HELL NO). Like another yelper said, this place is the REAL MCCOY! Get 'em in a paper bag, so you can see through it when you get home with them (yeah, they're greasy, like donuts are meant to be). Great staff; typical, minimalist donut-shop ambience. Apple fritters are my favorite donut, no matter where I go, and they are the best I've ever had here. They also make blueberry and another type of fritter, but haven't tried yet. FATTEN YOURSELF OFF OF THE FINEST DONUTS IN TREE TOWN!

Best doughnuts in town. Eye pleasing, melt in your mouth it is so good doughnuts - and I'm not even a doughnut fan!! Country doughnuts are definitely my go-to for office meetings. Can't go wrong with the cinnamon roll and the applet fritter. Friendly family style service!

The first time I visited this shop, I was excited to try a local business that made donuts but upon entering the store, we were greeted with, ah...nothing. A man walked up to the counter and the only thing other than , "what would you like" he asked if we wanted the product bagged or boxed. No smile, nothing. After we placed our order and the donuts were boxed, he said, "the other guy will ring you up", ah...ok!? We figured maybe they were having a bad day and decided to wait a week or two and then go back. We did and the customer service was about the same! We were not greeted when we entered, a different guy this time, just stood there looking at us. My husband asked what a certain creation was called and he looked at my husband and said, "those are nuts"...no shit Sherlock...! Anyhow, we placed our order and while waiting for the machine to work (process our payment), another customer was waiting. An employee walked up front, looked around, took out his cell phone, opened it up and went back to the back of the store. Really folks? Is this really how you run your business? My conclusion, no matter how good the donuts are (which they were not - mediocre), it does not excuse bad service. I will not go back to that store again.

Literally just left there with no donuts in hand. They only had giant cinnamon twists and giant cinnamon buns on display. I could see racks of ready to eat donuts in the back area, but when I asked if I could buy some of those, the cashier replied "those are for tomorrow". So not only did I not get to eat a delicious donut, but their regular practice is to sell day old donuts??

If you've never tried this place you are missing a real treat! The buttermilk bars are the best ever, the apple bear claw is unbelievably wonderful, their maple frosting is delicious, not overly sweet, but definitely overly yummy! Love the service, the goodies, coffee and teas! It's a trip for us from Caldwell and we gladly make it weekly just for their carefully prepared baked goods!

I did not try the doughnuts here. I wanted to really badly. I really hate Crispy Cream, but its very hard to find any other doughnut places around. I walked into what looked like a very run down and tired looking place. Things were so dirty and run down that I turned around and walked back out. Maybe I have watched way to many episodes of Restaurant Impossible, When I see a place that is dirty and looks like this, in my mind I see a kitchen that is also dirty and run down. I prefer not to get food poisoning. So I did not try it. Clean up the place and Id love to try it

I love this place. The donuts are fresh every morning. APPLE FRITTERS... The employees are very customer friendly and always make the best recommendations for your morning donut. APPLE FRITTERS... The coffee is delicious and smooth. The atmosphere is nice and clean. By the way, I love the Apple Fritters...

Donuts are good and there is a good selection. Place is kinda run down but lots of donut stores are so that didn't bother me. Expensive if you are picking up a couple dozen as they charge you per donut. Still looking for a good donut shop that doesn't cost $25 for two dozen.

Best donuts EVER. No, seriously, EVER. These donuts are huge AND flavorful!! You get quality and quantity and there's a great variety to choose from. The apple fritters are by far my favorite and I used to hate apple fritters before having them here. Try them and you'll be converted. The only problem here is that you'll have a hard time deciding what to get, end up buying a dozen giant donuts, and crying yourself to sleep that night (not because you regret having eaten them all because there is no way to exercise self-control with these in the house, but because they're all gone and you can't have them for a midnight snack...). I've been getting donuts here for years and hope to do so for many more!

I just tried Country Donuts for the first time last week. I tried them again the next day...and a couple days later... you get the point. When I walked in the door for the first time, I stood in awe at the amazing selection, and the SIZE of the donuts. Definitely worth the drive. The donuts are DELICIOUS! I highly recommend Country Donuts over anything else in the Treasure Valley.

Greatest doughnuts that have every been on this earth. This is a family owned establishment with great people! On Sundays we go down there we are served by almost always the same woman that we have known for like 5 years! The doughnuts are WAY better than Krispy Creme and make my mouth water just thinking about it! What I get is the maple chocolate chip. One is enough for one person and the combination of maple and chocolate is delicious just like the maple chocolate drizzle! Anyone that lives around the five mile area you must eat here!

If I had to sum up Country Donuts in four words, I I'd go with "fritters." "Fritters, fritters, fritters, fritters." If you gave me seven, I'd consider "raddest donuts in the Treasure Valley, period," but I'd probably end up settling on fritters again. Fritters fritters fritters fritters fritters. Everything Country fries is delicious, and I'd never turn down their maple cream-filled donuts, even if I was in the midst of a full-on, grease-induced cardiac arrest at the time, but I come for the fritters. The colossal, lard-suffocated, sugar-drowned, borderline abusive fritters. Their apple fritters set the standard by which all others will forever be judged, and on a good day their cherry is even better. The blueberry is fantastic, but best reserved as a change of pace, just to throw your gut a curveball when you're already up to your eyeholes in apple or cherry. Each one's the size of a wino's liver, but they're still always gnarled and craggy enough that the glaze and grease penetrates deep into every fruity centimeter. It's a miracle of science. They pack in more calories than any dozen donuts from a more restrained shop, yet I have yet to find a limit on how many I can pack away in one sitting. Their old-fashioneds are wonderful, but can't match DK. Same goes for their other cake offerings. That doesn't matter much, though, thanks to those aforementioned maple creams and other absurd raised options, like the goofy footlong eclairs with maple frosting and chocolate chips both on top and buried deep inside. Also, fritters.

Country Donuts is amazing. Giant maple bars are my favorite and they are worth the 25 minute drive across town to get them. You won't be disappointed, I promise.

Best Fritters I've ever had!!! The other donuts we got were amazing too. I'm really worried that I recently moved so close to this place. I hope I have the self control not to crave these things everyday.

By far the best donuts in town. The place is old and looks a bit rough. There is no equal in Boise. If you're looking for the best donut in town, this is the place.
