Me gusta. It is what it is. Simple pretty good Mexican food. just do NOT get the chile rellenos. they are disgusting. some slab of unmelted cheesed covered in an omelet. not good. but the salsa is good and the enchiladas are tasty.

I have been coming here since I was a kid, if I am not mistaken, their first location was on 28th and State... I would always order (and still always order) their arroz con pollo. It is fabulous every time, no matter which location I visit! Their seasoning is on point and often times it is enough to last me 3-4 meals (what a bargain)! Also, I went on cinqo de mayo and their margaritas were on point! Very tasty and affordable as well (I believe it was $8 for 20oz). Definitely a go to restaurant when I am craving Mexican food!

I hate eating in the restaurant because their decor is pretty cheap looking and they have a TV that's blaring spanish shows and the one time I asked that the volume be reduced, they say sure and then don't do it. The food is tasty, but hit and miss. Their carne burrito is excellent, but sometimes has gristle in it. Not fun :( The chile rellanos are very good. Lots of cheese. I especially like the crispy shredded beef tacos. Their horchata is very nice, but sweeter than others I've had. Everyone is friendly and the food is made quickly. We'll be back because the food IS worth it, but we'll use the drive thru next time.

Nice little place tucked away in a strip mall. Good food, reasonable pricing and nice people working there. They occasionally put out good coupons too. The food here is about average for this area where there are a ton of Mexican joints. The salsa is good too. I really like the restaurant's decoration and atmosphere too. Not a bad place at all.

Had a very nice dinner this evening. We were quickly seated, the hostess was pleasant, the menus easy to read and attractive. I ordered a small tequila and lime margarita to start, and it was delicious...best I've every had. My wife had a pina colada, and again, it was top rate. Ice water was served without our having to ask for it, and the chips, salsa and bean dip were very good. I don't usually care for bean dip, but this one was seasoned well, and I liked it a lot. The salsa was exceptional. Minimal cilantro, which is how I prefer it, and a rich, tomato-y taste made the salso delicious. The chips were fresh-tasting as well. We were quickly able to decide what to eat. Our waiter took our order soon after the drinks came, and both plates arrived quickly, and just as we'd ordered. I thought my seafood enchiladas were perfect! Seasoned mild, with a good dollop of sour cream. It went exceeding well with the rice and beans, and the margarita! My wife enjoyed her pollo a la crema, which is her standard fare and all Mexican restaurants. This one was top ranked, very creamy. She said it was unusual in that instead of Parmesan, this dish was made with jack cheddar, which made it creamier. I enjoyed the music, too! Soft contemporary rock sung in Spanish, with several almost-traditional tunes that were nice, too. I'm not a fan of the polka-like musica norteno, so I appreciated the more up-beat musical ambiance. Our table was clean, the booth seating comfortable. What kept this review from rating five stars? The staff was pleasant, but not friendly or chatty. I like to be treated special at restaurants. Other yelpers have me confused on this one when they use words like "good," "best," or "tex-mex." There is nothing tex about it; it's a Mexican restaurant. Unless they've changed the menu in the last year. The ambience / decor is pretty lacking. Things just look old and dusty. Service was average to slightly below average, nothing special, nothing awful. The food was god-awful. I don't know how you screw up a totally simple carne asada burrito, but the meat was tough and dry and the burrito had way too much sauce and cheese on top of it (which, I didn't think that burrito came with, but I accepted it). My wife ordered vegetable fajitas. The pile of "fajitas" was seriously overly-cooked (almost appeared steamed), finely diced onion and bell pepper, seasoned with a metric butt-ton of salt. That's it. No marinade, no sauce, no spices, just oil and salt. And way too much salt. And I'm not that picky of an eater, but I spat my bite out. I hate to say it, Casa Mexico, but I make better fajitas than you and I'm pretty gringo status over here. Would never, ever, ever go back. Idaho yelpers need to be exposed to some good Mexican food. BTW, if anyone knows of a genuinely good Mexican restaurant in the Boise / Meridian area (don't say Los Betos, that's a taqueria), please let me know. And not El Gallo Giro in Kuna. Already had a bad experience there.

It was my husbands and I's first time here upon entering we noticed it was VERY dusty, they seriously need to dust aside from that I like the decor. Both of us ordered the special The Espresso Burrito I was not happy that they charge $1 extra to melt cheese? That is crappy when our food arrived we started eating and I didn't. taste the chicken, it hardly had any and it lacked in flavor there was none. It looks nice but it tastes like fast food, it lacks in flavor needs SERIOUS dusting I think when we come this way again we won't come back to this place. The air vent and fake plants have so much dust its blowing into the food yuck.

My family has been going to this restaurant for years!! The family that owns it is amazing, sweet, and personable. They will take the time to remember you and to make your visit special. The food is great and affordable. They have a banquet room that's easy to get and the service is great. :) Always recommend to others.

Dear Yelpers, your reviews of this much abhorred restaurant are misleading at the least, and dastardly homicidal at the most. My friend and I decided on this place strictly on what we read here; and the reviews were all pretty good, or promising at least. I am sad to say we were traumatically hoodwinked. The food here is terrible. I was lured in by their chips, which were edible, and their salsa, which was pleasantly decent. After playing catch-tag with our impatient waitress we managed to order and yet upon the food being delivered to us, promptly regretted it. I'm not entirely sure what these other Yelpers got to eat, but ours was certainly atrocious. Neither of us could finish. There were carrots in my friend's burrito, or what we tentatively decided on being carrots, seeing as they were malformed orange blobs. Yet, interestingly enough, carrots were not listed as an ingredient in her meal at all. Just stay away from this place. There is better Mexican food to be had, trust me. I would not step inside this restaurant again if I were half-starved and delusional with it; surely their food would secure me to a quicker grave.

Food is better than other Mexican restaurants in boise. That being said, Atmosphere resembles that of a 16th century dungeon. You would be advised to consult your lawyer before your visit. First chips free, additional chips $1.50 additional salsa $1.50. Ahh yes, note the fine print. It's on the menu. Sheer evil, tricks of the devil and what have you.

The food at Casa Mexico reminds me of almost every chain restaurant around. It is consistent with what you would expect. The salsa is pretty good. Serving sizes are crazy. I ordered the sopitos which was enough to feed 3-4 people or a small country. Skip the refried beans and order the pot beans with your meal instead. Much healthier for you and pretty good flavor.

This is the finest Mexican / TexMex restaurant in Boise. It's always clean. It's been under the same ownership for as long as I've been coming here which is over 10 years. I recommend the Steak Fajitas and the Casa Nexico platter as excellent beef menu items. The service is always top notch too. Best of all the have Diet Dr Pepper Enjoy!

Best chips and salsa I've had in the Boise area. Rest of the food is typical, standard tex-mex fare, nothing wrong with it, but nothing mind-blowing either. But the chips and salsa keep me coming back. Plus can always stop by Harbor Freight and pick up some cheap tools I don't need afterwards.

This place is incredible. There is nothing like a Mexican Beatles cover band to go along with your fajitas. The only problem is when you order fajitas, they give you 75% vegetables and 25% steak. That's ridiculous, not to mention that I had to pay $1 for an extra 3 tortillas cause they only gave me 5 for two orders. The owner is extremely friendly although he's a 49ers fan which is unusual. But overall a pretty decent Mexican restaurant.

I love Mexican food. When we moved back into the area, we were afraid we wouldn't find a good Mexican food. Then I remembered this joint, and it has topped the list and is now the ONLY place we get our salsa fix. Celebrated the wife's B-day here, and everything was awesome! Good food, great atmosphere, and the friendly service never missed a beat. Order the carne asada with fried jalapeños, the menu lists it as a special, but it is always available, and deliciously incredible.

The prices have gone up a bit in the recent years but it is still a great deal for the quality of food/service/portions. I too love the chips and salsa. I was passing through Boise to our way to Yellowstone and after a whole day of driving through California, Arizona and Utah, I was super excited to eat some good food. After reading the reviews, I was excited but as soon as the food came out, I wanted to run back to LA. The food was greasy, full of crème and not flavorful at all. We ordered sangria, it was watered down, no taste at all...had a weird pink color, avoid it as it's not good! For our entrees, we ordered the Pollo en Mole and Camarones a la Diabla (Prawns and mushrooms sautéed in our special hot sauce. Served with rice, beans and sauce). The mole dish did not taste like authentic mole I am used to, the sauce was very runny and felt like it was mixed with water. The shrimp dish was pure awful...it was an insult to my culinary taste. The sauce was just tomato and sour crème, was not hot at all. I ended up picking and eating just the shrimps with some rice and left the dish intact otherwise. On a positive note, the flan was ok and the service was not bad. Maybe I am too used to eating fresh and flavorful Mexican food in LA and SF....this was just bad food. Inspite of being hungry and tired from the road trip, I still could not eat my dish.
