The pho was tasty although considerably less tasty than that of Pho Nouveau downtown. My biggest problem was that they would only sell bottled water. After having put my last dollar and change in the tip jar I had to run another transaction to get a bottle of water with my meal for $1. I guess I just felt nickel and dimed :/ I know they don't have to, but I would sure appreciate it if they would provide the common service of water with my meal. I like my pho spicy!

Great PHO & vietnamese as well as americanized sandwiches tucked into a Fred Meyer shopping mall. An unexpected treat.

Great sandwiches with REALLY great french bread and interesting non-standard veggies. I've heard tell that the bread comes from a Bosnian Deli down the street ... more investigation needed! The price is very reasonable as well. Another review said get the BBQ pork and order extra meat ... i agree. I would not call these sandwiches "Amurican Sized" so you go ahead and add more yummy BBQ pork for $1 and it's still a $6 sandwich. Why 3 stars and not 4? Not many options for sides and no water cups (have to buy a bottled water?!?!). A winning sandwich none the less.

Great place for a quick fix when I'm craving pho. Not the best I've ever had but it still hits the spot. Large portions with a low price. Service is very nice and timely. Convenient location in the Fred Meyer complex is perfect for quick dinner and shopping nights on my way home. Haven't tried the sandwiches yet but I plan on it and will update then.

This is THE very best bowl of pho in the Boise area. Trust me, I've tried them all. The only reason they are missing the 5th star is because the do not put enough meat in their sandwiches. The bathroom is also not as clean as it should be. I have been in the bathroom on two different occasions with no soap.

The sandwich was great. Perfect bread, fresh ingredients, tangy sauce. However, the snotty server left a bad taste in my mouth. Insipid, annoyed, and unhelpful; she ruined the experience. Not to be confused with the owners, the employees were awful. Also no WIFI and horrible music left the ambiance lacking. Definitely get your food to go.

Thank God for baguette deli. The only authentic, ridiculously delicious bánh mì sandwich in Boise. I grew to love bánh mì in Seattle. The number three is essentially all I order. Will say that the pho is not my favorite in Boise, given the sausage. I like it better at pho neuvo. I miss their downtown, eighth Street location.

If it weren't for the bubble tea, I probably wouldn't come back. Every time I come here it's so smokey, like they just had a fire or something. And the same girl at the counter gives me the same grumpy/bored service, every single time. None of the employees seem bothered with speed and they all look annoyed at me for having ordered something.

Excellent! The BBQ beef sandwich (#3) with light jalapenos is phenomenal. I also had a green tea smoothie with boba which was delicious, although a little on the sweet side for green tea. I am looking forward to eating here again and trying the Pho and the Thai tea with boba next time. The boba teas are priced a little high in my opinion, but the food is priced fairly and really good!! The staff is crazy friendly. I have heard that there are consistency issues with the food that they put out, but I have yet to experience it because I have only eaten here one time.

The food is delicious. The banh mi sandwiches are fresh with lots of veggies. They also have boba teas, pho, beignets, egg rolls, and the occasional dessert of sweet rice cakes with coconut milk and sesame seeds (although I haven't seen these lately). My favorite sandwich is the #3 (BBQ beef). Beware: it comes with a heavy dose of jalapeños so I always ask for them on the side. You'll frequently find pre-made spring rolls on the counter (also good) and a variety of Asian sodas and drinks in the cold case. This place is halfway between school and my job so it's all too easy to stop for a quick meal on the go. It's also convenient because Fred Meyer, Dutch Bros, gas and Chase are in the same complex. Generally they are very fast. There's only one time our food took more than a few minutes and it was because it was it was raining, packed, and everybody wanted pho. The reason why I can't give this place five stars is the customer service. There are two women who work the counter: one is extremely nice and the other sorely lacks customer service skills (not welcoming, acerbic, comes across as rude). Part of this, I realize, is a cultural thing. But sometimes it puts me in a foul mood, especially when I am being nice to them and don't get it in return. Either way, I will continue to return for inexpensive sandwiches and great bubble tea!

I am always not happy to downgrade an establishment but the food quality at the Baguette Deli is definitely gone down hill over the past few months. The sandwiches are consistently inconsistent, sometimes they are fab, chock full of veggies and meat, the next time you go in the same sandwich is skimpily presented with little meat and lite on the veggies. It seems like the quantity of fixings you get depends on who is working that day. I still vote for the BBQ pork as my fav but Holy Ghost Batman, sometimes you have to hunt for the meat on an sandwich which was ordered with extra meat, those days are totally not cool. dudes soory bn mt 2 ngôi sao cho rng!! (simple translation is "Sorry dudes you loose 2 stars for that")

Come here for the Vietnamese pho! Well worth every cent. I took a picture of the meal and it should speak for itself. The sandwiches are really tasty but not to meaty or filled with much ingredients, which is why you come for the pho! ;) It probably only seats twenty people at a time so come early if you plan on sitting and eating.

Boy, after looking very much forward to this trip, I'm totally torn. Bahn mi is my favorite sandwich ever, but people can execute them very differently. The concept of this sandwich was great, in that it was traditional. Take some french bread, fill it with pork, daikon radish, carrot, cilantro and jalapeno. Bam. You've got Viet sammy perfection and, I must add, no sriracha aioli necessary. I really enjoyed aspects of Baguette Deli's version, but some really left me disappointed. The bbq pork had awesome flavor, but I agree with Rich when I say asking for double meat would help. The daikon, carrot and jalapeno were fresh and crunchy. However, the cilantro, of which there was much, was almost completely flavorless. My bro in law guessed that it had been thoroughly washed early that morning and sat ourt all day, which was a solid guess. This affected the pho he had, my sandwich and the fresh rolls, which fully rely on herbs to give flavor, beyond the delicate slices of pork. So everything had great texture, but really lacked flavor. Also, the jalpeno had been totally seeded an dpithed, meaning there awas almost no heat in the peppers. Last critique is that the bread was super airy and had too much give to it, meaning it was not substantial enough. It was like that dollar loaf of "french" bread in a foil bag you buy while in line at Albertson's. All that criticism and, really, I still enjoyed my sandwich. I just think there's room for improvement. Bro in law said his pho was the best he's had in BOI and the guy is a serious pho / soup connosseiur. Will definitely come back to give it another shot. I have no idea what people are talking about with the service, as everyone was very nice. Maybe just not used to cultural differences? Or maybe we experienced different servers. If you're around and enjoy something out of the ordinary, definitely give B.D. a shot.

Pho was good, but they need to keep Sriracha on the table instead of giving you a tiny amount in a cup.. Wont go there again unless I hear they've changed this practice!

  • Fred S.

I only generally order sandwiches. But on occasion the spring rolls which are always great. Make sure sure you pay extra and get the peanut oil to dip your baguette sandwich in. Only downside is that it's not made consist (peanut oil) but it's always good. Fast service usually get to go. Have never messed my order up after at least 30 visits. Dining in is enjoyable as well.

  • R J.

Wow! What a find. The sandwiches are epic and the bread alone is sensational. Highly recommend. I also have had the rolls which are a nice addition to your sandwich as a meal. Check this place out!

Banh mi thit nuong aka BBQ pork my fav! Reminds me a place I used to go to in San Diego called K sandwiches!

Owner needs a lesson in common sense. He/she needs to decide whether or not he/she wants to keep charging 2 bucks for about 6-8 oz of soda (literally). Not kidding. This is what they charge for a small soda (mostly ice), with no refills. Except when they do give out refills. Unless you're there on whatever day they decide to charge an extra dollar for a refill. Really, it's that inconsistent. The menu does not state "no refills"...? Not sure if they can't make up their mind or just recently decided that 3 bucks is the new going rate in west Boise for 16 oz of soda. Outside of their soda prices being higher than just about anywhere else in the world, Baguette Deli is decent. It's a basic hole in the wall sandwich shop with moderate cleanliness and less than moderate friendliness and personality. The only thing worth going there for is their banh mi. Everything else they have is better somewhere else like Pho Nouveau or Pho Tam. Their banh mi is pretty decent. Like everyone else says-the BBQ pork is the best item on the menu.

Food is ok, just the service is horrible. The cashier either has bad personality or just plain rude. I paid for my food but got treated like I begged for it. There are other pho restaurants, and this would be my last time here.

I tend to agree with the greedy owner comment posted by another Yelper. This used to be one of my favorite lunch places, but during my most recent visit I encountered some unpleasant changes. They no longer have their pitcher of ice water for dine-in customers. You are now forced to buy overpriced bottled water and a cup to share it in is an extra $0.50. That is the epitome of a lowdown, tacky, nickel and dime-type establishment in my book. The fish sauce and sriracha are now rationed in a little plastic condiment cup. I have never seen that before at any pho place. And perhaps worst of all, the pho now has a distinctly sour flavor. I fished around in my soup and found a lemon slice (yes, lemon, not lime) that was creating the sour bite. This restaurant had good food and appeared to be fairly well frequented by a loyal following, including me. Not anymore.

  • Dan E.

Clean, professional Vietnamese. Their pho is the best on the dollar that I know of. For a short time they had a location downtown. I hope that future efforts to become a chain are more successful; this is another, "why would you eat fast food?" kind of place.

  • Thomas R.

This use to be my favorite place to get avocada smoothie but not anymore. They raised the price and reduce the size of the drink. I can understand if they raised the price but also reducing the quantity? If they are trying to figure ways to make more profits, let's see how they figure this out as they loses another customer.

  • L S.

Best pho in boise! Affordable, fast, busy at lunch, delicious. Downside - often runs out of basil especially at dinner. Must buy bottled water for a $1 if you want a drink. I am not complaining just stating a fact. Overall, a great counter service gem!

    (4)
  • Brittni S.

The quality of my sandwich was the equivalent of cat food on a stale baguette. Only thing well made was the boba tea.

    (1)
  • Jeremy M.

I like the sandwiches and the shakes but the over-priced drinks just kill me. What happened to businesses offering free water and a fair price on sodas? $2.00 for a small soda is CRAZY!!!

When I popped in late one evening, the girl working there told me they were unfortunately out of bread -- no sandwiches for me. Wasn't a problem as I was going to eat somewhere else, but I did want a bubble tea. I mean, I love me some bubble tea. But I will be honest and admit Boise freaking Idaho is the last place I'd expect to find bubble tea. Not only did I find bubble tea in Boise, but it was some ridiculously good bubble tea in Boise. Boise! Really! The last place in the world I'd expect to find bubble tea -- especially since I trekked across the Oregon desert to get here -- and yet here it was. I do wish I would've had the chance to try a sandwich, but alas, such was not the case this time. Their bahn mi sounded especially good (I know, I know -- bahn mi in Boise!) So for that, I'll withhold a fourth star. Although I imagine based on the previous reviews, they would've likely earned it.

Look, this place is great. The BBQ pork is the best sandwich on the menu, which is saying a lot. I mean they have a scrambled egg sub sandwich for goodness sake (never tried it... Yuk!). Anyway, when I go, I always get the BBQ pork. So, last time I went, knowing the meat is sometimes a little light--what do you expect, it's a $3.50 sando--I ordered "extra meat" for a dollar extra. My co-worker got the same sandwich but did NOT order double meat. So we get our 'whiches, and I take a bite and he takes a bite. Well, my bite was savory, but it didn't look as delicious as his... His was... More substantial. It was the happiest I'd seen him eating one of these delicious Vietnamese sandwiches. I hated watching him grin with delight. And that's when I realized something terrible had happened. They had given HIM the double meat!! I tried to remain calm as I continued to take my noticeably drier bites of baguette and cilantro while he enjoyed his, which, at this point, was so loaded with meat, pieces of meat were dropping out of his sandwich onto the baguette paper below. I struggled not to pick up those morsels and stuff them into my own sando. Then the comments started "this is the best one yet!", "I wonder if they knew it was my birthday last week?", "I'm a Foursquare mayor... Of the place next door to here. They're probably buttering me up to run for office over here too." "ENOUGH!!!" I shouted loudly enough to ripple bowls of Pho. "You got my double meat and I hate you for that!" He stared at me blankly, his mouth all covered in BBQ sauce. "Oh." He finally said, "you want a buck?" I ended up taking his dollar. Needless to say I never went back to the Vietnamese baguette deli. With him.

I have dined at Baguette Deli a handful of times in the past, with my most recent visit being after nearly a year since the previous one. During prior visits, I had always been pleased with the value and quality of the food, as well as the prices. Unfortunately, it seems the place has changed. First, the girl taking my order at the counter seemed hurried and became visibly impatient when I took an extra few moments to decide my order, even though there were only two other customers in the restaurant and no one else in line. I have always enjoyed the fresh shrimp spring rolls, but was disappointed to find they were out. In the past, they had been able to make them to order if customers were willing to wait, but when I asked about this, the girl responded with a terse, "No," and seemed to take pleasure in being unhelpful. So I settled on the teriyaki chicken banh mi. Although the bread was crusty and delicious and the veggie toppings were fresh, the chicken was mushy, salty, tasted old, and had the texture of a purée rather than actual meat. In addition, the meat portion was minuscule, which I was somewhat grateful for in this instance because it simply wouldn't have been palatable. While eating my lackluster sandwich, I overheard the conversation between a customer and the girl at the counter. While placing his order, the customer inquired about the same fresh spring rolls I had been interested in. The girl told the gentleman they were out, but when he asked about having some made to order, she said yes, after she had given me a flat, unapologetic no. Despite already being furious, my next, and possibly most significant issue with Baguette Deli, is that they no longer offer free water to customers, which I am reading is a complaint I share with other reviewers. Instead of a pitcher of water with reusable plastic cups that diners could help themselves from, the restaurant now requires patrons to purchase an overpriced bottle of water. I find this practice cheap, greedy, and in the worst possible taste and service. Despite relatively reasonable base prices and good experiences in the past, the new "nickeling and diming" tactics, inconsistency, and poor customer service has made Baguette Deli a place I no longer wish to give my patronage to.

Delicious sandwiches but they skimp out on the meats (hence only 4 stars). If I'm going to pay 7, almost 8 dollars on a sandwich, load it up!

    (4)
  • Heather E.

It gets 5 stars, b/c for BOI, this is as good as it gets. The sandwiches are light, and tasty. The pho is my favorite. I always get the big bowl, never thinking I can finish it. It is gone by the end. The prices are excellent. I wish it was easier to get to. It is off the beaten path for me. I live out of town, and it is not near any errands I run. But way worth it.

    (5)
  • Janice B.

No "atmosphere" at all, but I drop in often to pick up a package of spring rolls for an instant, delicious lunch. I do sometimes wonder about how long they might have been sitting there on the counter, but so far, so good! I've also tried some of the strange little custards in the refrigerator case, and found them to be pretty decent. I've never tried their bobas or baguettes, so I can't comment on those.

  • Heather G.

Baguette Deli has always been my go to sandwich shop in town. Along with everyone else's comments, I will agree to the lack of friendliness of the people who work here, but that doesn't bother me so much. Everyone used to rant and rave about how good this place was, but each time I go back the owners seem to raise the prices and have become very stingy with things. The average bahn mi sandwich is usually $3-5 anywhere you go. This places prices are now outrageous! Not cheap anymore for the average Vietnamese sandwich shop. They also no longer give free water and you even have to pay for garlic chili sauce, and sriracha. First place I've been to that sells Pho and doesn't have the spicy chili sauces on the table. Don't get me wrong, I love a few of the employees here and the food is great. I just don't see myself or many other regulars coming back if they continue to raise prices and be stingy.

  • Justin P.

If the service wasn't incredibly slow at times, and the "menu" a bit lazy and confusing (some stuff isn't even on there) this would be a 6 star place.

    (4)
  • John S.

The pho is tasty and the bahn mi sandwiches are very good, as well.

    (4)
  • Kyle M.

They have really good sandwiches and they have really good iced coffee. whenever I need a quick bite to eat this is always a first place I go to also if you have a big appetite get some spring rolls their peanut sauce is amazing! I would choose this over Jimmy Johns or subway any day of the week. I would definitely recommend the pulled pork with the baguette bread.

  • Bryce W.

I gotta say, I wasn't terribly impressed. I had the BBQ Pork sandwich. It was good, but not great. The sandwich felt very dry for the most part, which isn't how I typically like my sandwiches. People have raved about their bread. For Boise, it was great. For New York or Philadelphia, it's below average. The pork imparted an underwhelming amount of flavor to the sandwich. For the price, it's a good meal. I have to imagine, however, that there are better sandwiches in Boise. Keep in mind that 3 stars is "A-OK". I liked it, and I understand why it's rated highly. I just can't say anything will bring me back.

  • Seth N.

If you've never been, its a great place to try out! Very unique and the food is good and well priced. In fact, I'm not even sure why I'm not giving them 5 stars other than I'm not a huge sandwich person normally!

Fun little spot if you want a quick bite to eat. I'm a fan of the vegetarian ham baguette and spring rolls. I do have a soft spot for the Cajun shrimp sandwich. Beef soup ain't that bad either.

Hey kids, did you know that Vietnam was colonized by the French? And when the Vietnamese wanted independence the US supported the French who were still clinging to colonialism even after WWII. So the people seeking independence, the Viet Minh, got the backing of the commie people in China and anyone who was Catholic or liked to eat French bread went south or eventually moved to the US. Just kidding, the commie people like French bread too. And who wouldn't love baguettes? Crusty, chewy, great for sandwiches. Just slap some pate on there along with some chili peppers, cilantro, pork products you have a masterpiece. What kind of creole fusion cuisine is this? It's the taste of two great culinary cultures in a mash-up. I've never been to the Vietnamese markets in California so it was a treat to have this place open up in Boise. The bread is baked at the Orient Market and it is excellent. I'm hooked on the house special with the pate and the jalapenos. Kids might want to skip the hot peppers. My daughter wanted to know why the menu said the sandwiches come with "egg mayo". Cuz dat's what mayo is, kido - an egg and lemon juice colloid. The BBQ pork is tasty. The chicken is so so. I have got to try the Cajun shrimp. Speaking of Cajun - the last time I had a beignet like they serve here I was in New Orleans at Cafe du Monde. ;-) actually these are kind of leathery and oily. Kind of reminds me of the Fusion Asian Grill / Krispy Kreme combo out in Meridian. So raise a glass of boba tea (the thai tea is my fav) and celebrate mixing things up.

Delicious food! I was getting poor service and mediocre sandwiches at a nearby sub way. I'm so glad yelp found me this place! Today was my first visit and I got the Cajun shrimp sandwich, YUM. I'm for sure going back. The prices are excellent too.

Good: bread, sandwiches, soup, service, prices. Nice place to go in a pinch. I go frequently. Bad: small, kind of dirty, too, but acceptable.

I ordered the #5 sandwich with extra meat and didn't get the extra meat I paid for. This has happened the last three times upon ordering extra meat, it's like they stopped putting it on, even though it's paid for. I went up to the counter since it happened a third time in a row and told the woman they forgot the extra meat and she had the nerve to tell me it was in there, so basically she lied to my face. The first time I ever got the sandwich I did not ask for extra meat so I know what the sandwich looks like with or without it. Whether I order extra meat or not I get one thin, measly layer of beef throughout the sandwich. Done paying for nothing. The employees are slow as hell and rude too.

  • Thanh L.

When I first walked in I was hesitant to order anything because the people working at the front weren't Vietnamese. Usually that's a sign of Americanized Viet food, but my craving for Viet food took over and I ordered away! Everything here was better than I expected and the prices were definitely reasonable. Things I've tried: Cajun shrimp, good w/plenty of shrimp House special good Beignets old and stale, but the flavor was there. If they made these fresh (which wouldn't be hard to do) these would be much better. Pho good. Grilled beef spring rolls decent. Strawberry boba tea (bland and NOT the business) If you're not into spicy stuff, then ask them to leave the jalapenos out, or check for them before you take a bite to save your tongue from the burn. Good place for a quick bite!

  • Julia M.

I love these sandwiches, but they seem to run out of bread frequently. Today (Monday) I was there at 7:30 and they couldn't make any sandwiches because they were out of baguettes. This also happened to me in the evening a couple weeks ago. If 90% of your business is selling sandwiches, YOU SHOULDN'T RUN OUT OF BREAD! Otherwise, delicious. They also serve bubble tea here. The sandwiches themselves are served on fresh, crusty baguettes with fresh, crispy vegetables and delicious meats (not a huge serving, but sufficient). I usually order the #1. They seem to run out of the other sandwich fillings, too.

  • Scott N.

I've had about all of their sandwiches and visit this place when I'm in the area during lunch. I think their bread is great and their prices are phenomenal. I also enjoy their spring rolls.

    (5)
  • Patrick W.

Note before you read: I ordered a standard sandwich, not Vietnamese. Pros: Bread was good, very good price, fast service Cons: There was just nothing outstanding about the sandwich, processed turkey on a white baguette. Both me and my colleague had pretty good stomach aches after eating this. I might come back after my stomach has settled for a Vietnamese sandwich.

Vegetarian deli meat?! Is there anywhere else in Idaho that serves this? There may only be one option, but it's not half bad and they're decent slices. Their baguette is nice and crusty but soft in the center, so it's not too dense or chewy. I don't think I'd use it just for cheese given those qualities, but it makes an awesome sandwich. The Thai boba tea wasn't my thing; too sweet. They probably made it right and I just don't like Thai Tea, but I found the milk tea much better. I think we confused the poor lady at the counter asking about the meat content of the spring rolls that were sitting there already made, so we dropped it and didn't end up trying any. Either way, the sandwich alone is enough to keep us coming back! *Update* + They will make up fresh spring rolls for you with only the veg meat and/or shrimp, so veg- and pesc-etarian rolls are an option. They come with a dark peanut sauce. + One earlier reviewer was unhappy with the Cajun shrimp sandwich's shrimp content; we tried one recently and it was pretty packed with shrimp. Improvement or inconsistency? I'm not sure.

The BBQ Pork sandwich is a now my favorite thing is this town to eat paired with a steaming bowl of Pho next to it. I love the way the do it the right way, by serving you bowl of broth with the meat and all of the condiments on the side. They even give you the raw beef to add you self and just barely cook in the warm broth. Hate to say it but deli George is now a close second to this place for sandwiches.

I have been going to this place for about six months now. I have finally had it with the amateur, cold, rude counter help. The service absolutely sucks. The seating is not very comfortable and not laid out well. Parking lot in front in Fred Meyers is a real cluster as well. Taking your life into your own hands just trying to walk across it with the crappy way the traffic patterns are laid out., With so many other great Pho places in Boise why waste another minute or any more of your hard earned money at this place.

  • Rina K.

Gosh well I'm not really much of a sandwich person, so this may be the only "sandwich place" in Boise I've eaten at (does Subway even count?). That being said, though, it's great. The baguettes always taste fresh (crispy outside with that lovely chewy texture inside), there are many options, and yet such clean and simple ingredients (which I appreciate...it's not some saucy, oily, cheesy, cold-cut mystery meat combo). Jalapeños! Vegetarian sandwiches that aren't just veggies! I have to admit that the only sandwich I've had there is the vegetarian ham, but it's consistently wonderful. And who else has that?! Spring rolls are also yummy. And -- BEST BUBBLE TEA!!! (Good as a smoothie! Green tea and Avocado recommended.) Quick service, no problem with employees, and not a bad place to eat-in. Also nicely priced. But just one note: last time I got a sandwich there (vegetarian ham, of course), I don't think there were jalapeños in it. I hope they didn't get rid of those!! If you don't like sandwiches, or "foreign food", or either,...well, that's all they have. But it's good. Just try it.

I'll have to keep with my 3 star rating. I got the Cajun Shrimp sandwich this time just for a change of pace. You get your standard pickled veggies, jalapenos, great baguette and spread. The shrimp, however, weren't all that great. You barely get one per bite and the shrimp were tiny (check out the pics). If I'm ever around again, I'll drop by for a standard sandwich, though =P

Looking for a quick bite? Do your waist line a favor and get a sandwich or a bowl of pho and skip the gut bomb burgers across the street. Service is very fast and the food is always tasty.

This place gets 5 stars for one reason. Their amazing Beef Noodle Soup (Pho). It costs $5.99 for a small or $6.99 for a large. Unless you plan on sharing, do yourself a favor and just get the small. The broth is absolutely incredible. You can tell they probably let that stock just simmer all day with delicious beef parts and asian spices. I could just have an order of broth and be perfectly happy. But the thin strips of beef, rice noodles, fresh basil, bean sprouts, and lime juice just tops it off. I've had the subs before too which are unique and good for a picnic. But if you have some time just to sit down for a minute and enjoy some lunch, get their Pho. The ladies that work here are very friendly and stay busy. If they have some eggrolls in their display case, pick up a couple to munch on as well. Cheap and tasty. I will be back here MANY times. Definitely get some boba tea or a smoothie as well. The green tea flavor is so refreshing.

Love this place! It's nothing fancy and is everything I want out of Vietnamese food. My hubs and I have had a few of their sandwiches (the meatball is our favorite) and most of the vermicelli bowls (I love the grilled beef with egg rolls). It's cheap, straight forward and completely delicious. We've been hunting for good Vietnamese food since we moved here 2 years ago and this place blows all of the fancy spots out of the water. Just as delicious (if not more) for less than half the price!

I came here with 2 children, 1 newborn, and a very tired mommy, so my goal was to order quick and eat faster for fear of the war on toddlers. I was pleasantly surprised at this place. They were super nice to my party and patient as the kids grabbed doritos bags 10 at a time and kept asking "what drink is this?" I was even more pleasantly surprised that their sandwiches weren't too shabby either. I've eaten Vietnamese food since birth and I take it seriously (my mother can attest to this). The french baguette was good (although it could have been fresher), they used pate (why some Vietnamese places stopped doing this baffles me), and the pickled veggies weren't too salty which all adds up to a pretty delicious Vietnamese sandwich in my book. The meat portion could have been upped but since I'm not a huge meat eater, it fit my taste. They also had Taro and Avocado shakes... both were tasty It hit my cravings and the service was good. I can't ask for much else.

UPDATE: FULL DISCLOSURE: As of mid-2012 we have not been to Baguette deli on account of our concerns over cleanliness & hygiene. -------------------- I am not sure what these guys put in their bahn mi but it has some addictive qualities and I say this as a compliment. Ever since discovering this gem about 3 months ago, we find ourselves craving and going back to this place sometimes twice a week. You cannot beat the price (12 inch sandwich for $3- $4.75? Subway can't even hold a candle to either the value or the quality of what you get at Baguette deli). My favorite is the rotisserie chicken, with extra meat - a meagre $1 extra. But the no. 3 (scrambled egg) will surprise you. Give it a try. The grilled beef is excellent as well. The teriyaki chicken bahn mi was spicier than I had expected, not the typical panda express teriyaki flavors. The deli sells different types of Vietnamese sweets, and thus far I have not seen the same one twice except the Vietnamese style beignets which are a constant. The bread/baguette is freshest at lunch hour. You can order a noodle soup (pho) as well. Do try the avocado smoothy - even though it might not sound appetizing at first. With boba, the smoothies can get really heavy, almost a meal in itself. The girl at the counter is quite a delight herself. The place can get quite busy sometimes, so be prepared for a little bit of a line. In sum, for foodies - Asians and non-Asians alike, baguette deli's presence in Boise is a breath of fresh air.

I can't say enough good things about this place. The bread is so tasty, soft and fluffy on the inside and perfectly crunchy on the outside. I get the vegetarian ham or veggie ham spring rolls. I usually go in for the boba teas, though. I love the boba green tea; as the name suggests, it's your typical green tea, but with delicious boba in it! I highly recommend the strawberry banana boba smoothie, I think it's their best drink on the menu. The waitstaff is very friendly too!

I'm back and UPGRADING my previous 4 star rating. Why? Well I have to go here once a week for my fix. Everytime I get the #3 Pork sandwich and love it more than the previous time. Top it off with a strawberry smoothie with boba and I'm good for another 6 days. This place it truly unique and the food is excellent. Enter with an open mind (I thougth the French baked baguettes, right?) and leave with a satisfied tummy!

We found this place thanks to Yelp and Boise Weekly, and make the trek from SE Boise a few times a month (it'd be twice a week if we lived/worked closer). Best sandwiches in Boise, hands down. The bread is light and chewy on the inside, crunchy on the outside. They offer both Vietnamese-type meat choices, as well as the normal, boring roast beef, tuna, etc. My typical order - #6 (grilled pork loaf), extra veggies, no jalapeno. And the prices! Love that you can get a sandwich this good for under $5. UPDATE: You MUST try the Pho. Freaking awesome.

I found out about this place through the lady that made my sandwich at the Oriental Market on Franklin Rd. They were there temporarily but moved next to Fred Meyers for a more permanent placement . I really do admire Boise and the way its growing ethnically. :) Yay! Diversity in food in such a plus! Once I herd about them opening a place like this, I was so excited because I LOOOOVE Vietnamese sandwiches back in San Diego. I couldn't wait to try it here in, my new home. They just opened 4 days ago and I highly do recommend giving this place a try if you want something new or different... The customer service is awesome and the lady that works there is very welcoming! She puts a smile on my face . They have sandwiches that are 12' -- you can order just the sandwich or a combo that includes a fountain drink and a side of chips. [ Breakdown ] Combos (depending what you get): $4.95-$6.65 Single 12' sandwich: $3.00 - $4.95 They also sell variates of spring rolls ( YUM )and have a section for Asian baked goods, smoothies, mocha freezes, and boba drinks!! My order: - Grilled Beef Sandwich - Thai Tea w/ Boba - Spring Rolls = Deliciousness !!!! :] Hope you guys enjoy!

Decent, and affordable. The bread to filling ratio on the sandwiches could use a little tweaking (more filling!). Love the spiciness.

Bahn mi -- so hot right now. Fact: before I took the bar exam this summer, I bought 6 sandwiches to eat for every meal so i didn't have to leave the hotel and waste study time. After spending the first 10 years of my life one block away from what I still consider the best bahn mi I've ever had (shout out to the Berryessa King Egg Roll!), the next 17 years driving 15 minutes to get said best bahn mi, and the past few years trying out assorted other sandwich shops, I feel like I have the wherewithal to sort out meh bahn mi from awesome bahn mi. And Baguette Deli has some pretty awesome bahn mi -- ingredients are fresh, bbq pork is tasty, and that bread! The bread is really what sets this sandwich apart from the others I've tried. It's an actual baguette, which is different from the more oblong, shorter sandwich rolls that I've experience. 12 inches! Never a bad thing. I went for lunch on Columbus Day, but there was still quite a crowd and it took a little for the order to come out. But while I was waiting I noticed that they also serve pho at certain times; I'll have to check it out.

Great sandwiches made on fresh baguettes. Loved the cucumbers and cilantro on the barbecued pork sandwich.

Wouldn't have known this place existed if it wasn't for Yelp. They make very good, authentic vietnamese banh mi sandwiches. I can get over how little they cost.

I live in the Nampa and Caldwell area but I work at the Boise airport. I go 3 or 4 times a week and get 2 of the #2 before I go all the way back home. I have to say this beats all the other sandwich shops. My wife got me into this place and at first I was like NO Way but she didn't eat it all, so i took a piece and was hooked. I hope they make one in the Canyon County Area so I wont have to drive all the way. I strongly recommend this place!

I'd imagine that if most people were asked in what part of town they enjoy the cuisine the most, it would be downtown. But for me, my favorite area for food is on Orchard between Emerald and Franklin. Time to score another one for the area. Like Orient Market, Deli Baguette is just barely off of Orchard (on Franklin), but close enough to merit inclusion for what I consider my favorite area for food. The food in itself is not eyebrow-raising spectacular, but the basis for the recommendation comes in creating baguette sandwiches that are both solid and unique to the area. These are not your normal submarine sandwiches, offering options like daikon, pate, and cilantro on freshly-made baguettes (via the Orient Market) that create a somewhat different and French-inspired taste to the palate. I had the house special for my first sandwich (when it was being served over at the Orient Market), and I was hooked on my first try. As has been noted already, these sandwiches are butt cheap. $3.25 for the house special. Don't bother with the combo to get a soda and chips. You're not at Subway, and you can get that option everywhere else. I liked the pork and shrimp spring rolls (which for some reason are not on the big menu behind the counter) and the pork-filled pastries, but be prepared to wait longer if none are premade. And Hallelujah-- another place here sells boba tea now! The selection is nowhere near as varied as Yokozuna Teriyaki, but you do get better value for what is offered. When I've visited, the place has been at best moderately busy. As a result, things have gone quite slow. As it's still relatively new, it's hard to say if it's because of them still figuring things out or being understaffed and overwhelmed. Also somewhat odd is that you aren't asked if the food is to be eaten there or not. Seems like a bit of a waste if I'm sitting at a table and am handed my food in a plastic bag when I don't need one. Tell them you're eating there if you aren't asked. And they should invest in some trays-- it'll keep the tables cleaner too. They started offering pho, but I didn't like it. Congrats to the owners for bringing something different to the area and not just opening up some other standard Vietnamese joint.

By far my fav quick bite in Boise. Friendly service, try the grilled beef baguette or the pho!

I've been searching for this type of a deli for a while, and finally came across after reading about it in Boise Weekly. Their sandwiches are fresh and very tasty and the baguette are wonderful - crunchy and fluffy at the same time. Add a smoothy with Boba (green tea is my favorite) and you end up with a satisfied belly after a cheap lunch. I'll be back!

Everything, and I mean everything is great here! Faves are usually the number one or number three. Service always with a smile and they are way vegetarian friendly. Go here!!!

Great Vietnamese sandwiches on house made baguettes. Fresh rolls were good as well. Prices are ridiculously low. Biggest bargain in Boise...

I have been a PHO fan forever, the Pho here is marginal what takes away from the whole experience is the rude counter person..........look for somewhere else.

It's been forever since I had a good baguette sandwich with fresh ingredients, amazing crunchy baguette bread and to top it all, the boba tapioca pearls I love. Thick milkshakes and flavored drinks. Love it!!

What a pleasant surprise! I'd been craving a banh mi (vietnamese sandwich) for a while, so I was super happy to discover this deli. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The menu had a fair selection of sandwiches and beverages, even for someone who isn't feeling adventurous and simply wants a roast beef sandwich and a Coke. I ordered the special sandwich, which had ham and pate, jalapenos, mayo, and cilantro. It was wonderfully crisp yet chewy, tasty, and filling. I wish they had put in larger slices of jalapeno, but I guess I could have simply asked. The thai tea with boba was pretty good as well. I was tempted to try their pate chaud (a delicious flaky pastry filled with ground meat) but I will save that for a future visit!

This place is ok, but it ain't all that. This is a fine place to go if you are mildly hungry, but if you are looking to get your grub on, this is not the place. To be fair, I am not a fan of Vietnamese food so their asian fusion sandwiches miss the mark.

This are awesome and so good! I love the BBQ pork one the best. The staff is so friendly. This is my first dive into Vietnamese cuisine and now I def. want to try more! The bubble tea is so good. I am glad there is another place in town to get the bubble tea. I never tried it before and I love it! They have fresh rolls that taste just as good as sit down Thai restaurants. I love that they will add extra jalapenos and usually not charge extra. They are fresh not pickled and sometimes has seeds which makes it even spicier which is good!! GO NOW! TO BAGUETTE DELI!!

the sandwhiches and spring rolls are damn good, but -1 for ridiculously overpriced soda and 50cents for water? wtf. didnt try the blended drinks as i was super sad for spending 2 dollars for a soda that has 85 cent refills.. bring your own soda and its golden. -dave

I'm so glad this place is in Boise. The baguettes are so yummy (I like the BBQ pork) and the vermicelli noodle dish is fantastic. Great cheap place to eat.

We made a special trip to Baguette after reading a few reviews in Boise Weekly. We won't be making a special trip to go back. The bread they use is wonderful. I would go there just to buy bread... (do they sell it?) It's a sub shop with a twist. I ordered the rotisserie chicken and my husband ordered the beef. I inquired if the chicken was breast meat (I don't like dark meat) They chatted and told me yes it was all white meat. I get the sandwich and honestly thought it was wrong. A foot long sandwich with Fresh cucumber, cilantro, too much jalepeno and where is the chicken? The mystery dry, brown, beyond shredded, minute amount of ???? Stopped me from my first bite. She saw the shock on my face and told me to try it and if I did not like it she would get me something else. I was nice and ate half and ended up throwing other half away. :( My other choices would have been turkey/pesto or the cajun shrimp. My husband thought his beef sandwich was ok. We both agreed that there was too much bread and light on ingredients on the inside. We also tried shrimp spring rolls. I was uneasy ordering because they were premade , wrapped and no refrigeration.... Just sitting on front counter. There was also mystery meat in shrimp spring roll. Ordered beignets, they were cold amd premade. Would be better if made per order and hot. We might try again but is no longer on list of must try or lets go across town because it's so darn good.

Delicious and cheap. I have yet to try a sandwich I did not love. (Yes, I love you #1, and you too #3). The bread is great and everything between the bread is great. I enjoy trying the drinks from the cooler but I like the coffee best. As far as I know this is the only place in Boise to get beignets, and if I that is true, then they are definitely the best in town.

This place is fantastic. There is a franchise like this in California called "Lee's" and I've wanted something similar in Boise ever since i had Lee's. The staff was very friendly and wanted to make sure everything was perfect. They sandwiches are fantastic and dirt cheap. They were out of boba when I was there, but the milk tea was still fantastic. It is an odd location, and seems like it would be much better off somewhere like bodo or around 8th st.

So good. Their roasted chicken sandwich is delicious. The combination of cilantro and the flavor of the chicken along with the jalepenos. So good. Their Pho is really good too. Also, very affordable which is always a plus.

I join in lauding this place. The price is ridiculous, and I'd have happily spent $7 for the $5 sandwich I had (which is the most expensive on the menu). Also had fresh spring rolls, which were made while I waited. Absolutely one of my new fave eatin' holes in Boise.

I didn't expect that a sandwich could capture the flavor of Vietnamese food, but had the House Special sandwich and it was GREAT. I esp. liked the crusty baguette --- such an improvement over the weak bread on offer at most sandwich shops! And it was cheap --- less than four bucks!
