Decent fro-yo, terrible service. We're used to a little trust with the whole yogurt-tasting thing prior to purchase. The girl behind the counter handed us (two adults) 2 cups. Not each, total, like she was afraid we'd eat all the samples and then run away without paying. Gee, hope I like the first one I try! When we went to ring up our purchases, the same girl seemed very put out, and her attitude didn't improve much for those in the queue behind us. Maybe they were understaffed that day, but customer service is kind of important. Sorry I made you do your job!

Id say this place is OK. They do have a lot of options and the girls were friendly, however the yogurt isnt all that great in my opinion its kind of bland. I dont mind so much that the yogurt isnt great what makes it a 3 star place for me is that the topping counter needed a good cleaning...i was a little grossed out by all the toppings spread out everywhere and most of them needed to be refilled...im sorry i cheated on USwirl, maybe its the place to go after a night of drinks downtown when you arent in the state of mind to care about cleanliness

5 stars for variety of flavors (there's 20). 5 stars for variety of toppings (way more than 20). 3.5 stars for quality of yogurt. 4 stars for value. 4 stars for cleanliness. 1 star for yogurt-nazi staff. For some reason the girl behind the counter could not give us more than 3 tiny self-serve sample cups without some attitude and a nasty glare to match (and we were the only people in the store!). Sorry if we have never been in before and needed to try more than 3 out of 20 flavors before we found one we liked. Sheesh! Maybe her pet goldfish died that morning or maybe she's somehow completely unfamiliar with standard yogurt shop sampling protocol. Either way, her shitty attitude tempted us to walk out. But we didn't. We enjoyed our dessert under the disdainful glare of the yogurt-nazi and left without incident. However, if she's ever mean again, we'll probably sample every flavor. Twice.

I love the DIY yogurt places. Compared to our small little place in twin falls Aspen Leaf had SO many flavors. I don't even remember but i was shocked! At least double the amount of Yogurt flavors. Of course they had a VAST amount of toppings, too. I stuck with my staple, cake batter, and loaded it up with strawberries, kiwi, blueberries, nerds (YES!) & sprinkles! A great stop in my favorite part of downtown. Huge seating area inside, and also outdoor which is great! Fun to sit and people watch :) !!! The bowls are huge & it's 44 cents per ounce.

A few weeks ago I discovered U-Swirl and was saddened they didn't have a downtown location, but then I heard about Aspen Leaf. It's definitely comparable to U Swirl in selection, quality and price. I almost got the berry sorbet but then I sneaked a peek at the toppings and saw that they had Nerds. Score! So instead I got French vanilla yogurt topped with Nerds and mini gummy bears. It took me right back to my childhood, though it was nowhere near as cloyingly sweet as the Nerds blizzards I used to inhale as a kid. My sons shared French vanilla and a rich chocolate swirled together and topped with M&Ms, and my husband tried five flavors: cake batter, red velvet, dulche de leche, cookies and cream and chocolate. They were all satisfied as well. I suspect we will frequent Aspen Leaf a lot during the spring and summer.

Let me begin by saying that I generally view self-serve yogurt places as a plague to humanity and a mockery of the rich history of this great nation. About five years ago, PinkBerry introduced sour, "healthy" yogurt with funky toppings to Southern California, wrapped in a sort of vague health/organic/green marketing package. It caught on among Hollywood celebs and trendsetters. It then began to Californicate across the country, producing illegitimate spawn from Boise to Boston. Every two-bit entrepreneur with a few thousand bucks and a Costco card could go by a machine to churn out icy rubbish and some Cap'n Crunch to sprinkle over it. Problem is, it's just not good. It's icy and flavorless, even sour. If I'm going out for ice cream, or even yogurt, I want it to be creamy. I want it to be sweet. I want it to be delicious. Now, I realize yogurt is necessarily a little more sour and less flavorful than ice cream. Fine. But most of these self-serve places don't even offer real hot fudge or whipped cream, so you can mask the mediocrity of the underlying product. Worse yet, these ubiquitous joints are displacing every real ice cream shop and old school (worthwhile) yogurt shop in town. Hide your apple pie and backyard hamburgers. They're coming for those next. Aspen leaf is different. For starters, the yogurt is genuinely good. It's creamy and tasty. Try the burnt marshmallow, for example. It is delicious. Second, they have all the toppings you'll find anywhere, plus more. Most notably, they have hot fudge that's actually hot, and whipped cream (which weighs, and therefore costs, virtually nothing). Aspen Leaf is doing the self-serve yogurt thing right. If you're actually craving real ice cream but want to feel a little less guilty about it, go here.

Being from LA, I have been spoiled with Yogurtland and Pinkberry, which are seriously a staple in my life. So when I moved to Boise, I was worried nothing would compare. This definitely is just like Yogurtland back home! They have a ton of flavors, but I just decided to get vanilla and a little of the apple pie, which was way too watery. They had a really large amount of toppings too, and warm caramel. The caramel sold me. Yum! Theres also a ton of tables, and nice patio seating too. They have a TV on the wall, but the captions were spelled completely wrong. I'm guessing the person that wrote the captions for the US open that day was drunk. There were a few things that bothered me, though. A lot of the tables were dirty and sticky, which is totally gross. There were also many machines that were out of order, and there was no free water like Yogurtland :(. I also thought that 44cents an ounce was just a tad pricey, but whatever. It won't stop me from coming back.

Honestly the toppings were wonderful. The yogurt tasted horrible. So put them together and it was just okay. They serve Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory toppings so thats' why they were wonderful but they need to fix the taste of the yogurt.

I actually enjoyed this place a lot. I visited after playing a lot of doubles volleyball on a hot summer day. So perhaps my review may be inflated. First of all, this place is not as good as pinkberry or red mango, if you are familiar with those trendy chains. I am primarily interested in the tart as to me that is the original froyo flavor. They have a tart flavor, though not as creamy as i would like it, the flavor was good. Its more icy than creamy, if that makes sense. The ingredients are good. I only went after the fruit (there is candy and nuts, but i wanted fruity refreshment only), some fruit appear to be pretty fresh, raspberries were really good, as were the strawberries, peaches and other fruits were clearly canned, though i do like me some sugary fruits too. Contrasted to a pinkberry or redmango the topping selection, though superior, is not as fresh. Definitely better than that blue cow place though! I would go again definitely. The price is pretty reasonable i would say at 44cents/oz. My bowl came out to 6 dollars. I could see people easily getting to 10 dollars if they didnt have a good plan of approach and just added everything. My only gripe is that they only have bottled water! no tap or something else to drink. Free Wifi. Plenty of seating, outdoor seating too.

Fun. Great because of the wide selection. You can build your own combos of yogurt and cover them with a huge array of toppings. The only reason i didn't give this place five stars is the price. You pay by weight. Just keep that in mind as you fill up. The only cup options are large. I love the chocolate yogurts. Delicious.

Lots of yogurt flavors, nothing special on the toppings. FroYo YOLO?

My favorite place to grab fro-yo! The location is great and the staff is usually very friendly (unless you walk in a minute before closing.) They have a wide array of flavors. I personally love fruity yogurt so hopefully they will add more fruit flavors. There is a lot to choose from in terms of toppings as well.

When I am in downtown roaming around and I get sugar cravings ... I go here. Love dulce de leche and red velvet from here. They offer many flavors of frozen yogurt and have variety ( like a lot) of toppings. I see many students hanging around this place and kids as well! One of my go to places for frozen yogurt.
