I recently visited my friends in Idaho and this was one of many stops while i was there. The place: This bar is an underground bar nestled in a quite area. The bar is a smaller bar but isn't crowded like most small bars. The tables are small and spaced to give a nice relaxed feeling and there is def. a sports theme as the walls have sports items on them, as well as license plates. There were no loud drunks or anything while we were there and the environment felt like we were there to talk and unwind instead of party and get restless. The drinks: As with any bar, this is what makes or breaks it. The inside can be awesome but if the drinks suck, so does the bar. Now this happened to be the very first bar I'd ever been to (I don't drink much) and i was a little scared. I wanted to start off with tasty drinks. Ones that don't slap you in the face with alcohol. ones that taste good but still have alcohol in them (yes that may be called "girly drinks"). I ended up getting a drink with amaretto and cherry to start. The verdict? Whoever the bar tender was, he knows how to mix drinks, cause i loved it. In fact I slurped it right down. I'm now a fan of this amaretto. I ended up getting 3 or 4 drinks all together and they all tasted wonderful. Not one was bad. To make things better, my friend ordered the same drink he made at home just the night before. It was amaretto with cream and something else (I think he called it toasted marshmallow or toasted almond something), and I tried it but it had tasted too strong for me. Not horrible, but my body wouldn't let me drink it all. Yet when my friend got one at this bar and I tried it, it was perfect. I could have stolen his and drank it all. To seal my visit, my fiends and I visited other bars and we tried some of the same drinks at the other bars that we had had at this one. Most of them weren't even close to being good as this bar. Some were wayyyy too strong and some took sour to the extreme, making their drinks undrinkable. Most other bars seemed to not be able to mix drinks like 10th Street Station. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating was the smoke. I don't smoke, so being forced to be in a smoky room isn't ideal, but that's bars for ya I guess. Bottom line- This was my first ever bar and I would def. come back. In fact it's the best bar we went to in Boise (taste wise).

This might be my new favorite place. Yes, this place is divey and if that is what you love, like myself, then you will agree, perfectly divey! Wonderful bartender, stiff, affordable drinks and an atmosphere to just sit back and enjoy. This place reminds me of Cheers. Dark and perfect! Go!

I've lived in Boise for years and had no idea this basement bar existed! So glad my friend took me here. The perfect low key bar to kick back, sip a drink, munch on complimentary popcorn and just shoot the sh*t with your favorite people. Friendly service and cheap drinks. Love coming here when i want to just chill out and not run into a bunch of people.

Stopped in here tonight while waiting for take out from Bombay. They had a Thursday special of $3.50 Jack mixed drinks. The bar was a little divey and definitely has some sort of 'smell' that isn't very welcoming, but the bartender was really cool.

This place...the 10th Street Station...it is dive-bar personification at it's best. I know. From the second I walked in, my eyes tried to lubricate themselves with tears when the ciggie smoke-filled room tried robbing them of their moisture. I remembered that the bar top was sticky from stale beer that was probably wiped down from a dirty wet rag & sat there to dry under sleeved elbows. The placard yelp.com/biz_photos/10th… behind the bar...thank gawd I remembered to take a picture. Love it. As small as this joint is, you could loose yourself in here...at the bottom of that Jack bottle would be best. But we're with the wifey's college pals. Right now it's a time to behave & represent. Let them act the fools...nah. I wanna be foolish with them. They're gettin' hammered on beers & shots. Our bartender is keeping a sharp eye, but on point serving us as needed. He keeps "our" party running smoothly throughout the night. Buffoonery ensues for hours. I know I had to use the men's room at one point or another. I have a bladder the size of peanut. I just don't remember a urinal. Maybe I was in the girl's room. That might explain the ringing in my head & images of women screaming in my ear while positioned over the sink. I'm kidding...I think. This place, the 10th Street Station...this place is pretty fly. They carried some local IPA's on tap. My Jack 'n Coke(s) was/were solid. More like Jack & a splash. If I didn't live like 900 miles away, was 10 years younger, not married & I wasn't on a temporary self-imposed alchy rehab binge, I'd seriously be here every night grabbing a night cap & some boob from the local flooz. They put us in a cab in the wee hours. We had some good times in this dive. I didn't drive. I was responsible. You should be too. I'm deez® & I'm out!

I loved this dive bar. We only had one beer but the bartender was nice and funny. The bar was decorated well and the chairs were comfy.

Love this bar, but a friend was kicked out tonight for nothing. He was not drunk, not belligerent, not anything but in a teasing mood. Bartender kicked him out for that. Wow. Very disappointed,

If you like drinking in a basement lined with sports memorabilia and full of heavy drinking characters this is your place. I like sports. I like drinks. I even like characters and some basements but melding all of them together and making an ugly baby called the 10th Street Station doesn't work for me. I think the rest of the bars in Boise would have to have burn down to get me to go back here.

I come here for three things: the stiff mixed drinks (it's $4 for a well mixed drink but I've never wanted more than three in a sitting), the fact that it's one of the only bars in Boise where you can go to talk without yelling, and the popcorn. How can popcorn from a bag even taste that good? Other small attributes, such as the sweet Rod Stewart poster near the door to the bathroom and the comfortable rolling leather seats, don't hurt at all.

This is a great little old man bar, for when you just want to grab a drink with some friends. I love it because the music it's loud, you can smoke inside (great in the winter time) and the drinks aren't cheap so the place is not packed with hipsters.

Located in the basement of the historic Idanha Hotel, this drinking establishment has been there almost as long. A great place for stiff drinks in a quiet, dark atmosphere where you can actually have a conversation w/o being drowned out by the crowd/music. Because it is a smoky bar, mostly smokers hang out there, making it a smoky bar...duh. While there is sports memorabilia hanging about, there is also plenty of music paraphernalia and general campy kitsch.

After I left Boise, I forever heard people talking about having drinks / meeting up at '10th street'. I figured it must be a cool place or something, what with everyone always going on about it. So I met another Boise ex-pat friend of mine and her boyfriend a couple years ago when we were in town for the holidays. Looking around the place revealed that it is nothing more than a sports bar, with football helmets and other garish sports memoribilia providing many eyesores to hold your attention or drive you to distraction. If you are not a fan of second hand smoke, I wouldn't even bother cause it is difficult to breathe with the smoke ratio being higher than the oxygen one. Someone tell me please what is so special about this place?
