Every time we come to Des Moines, IA I want to eat here at least once. Great place for meeting up with family. Food and drinks are wonderful.

Very disappointing. Baseball team went to try to get dinner and they wouldn't seat us even though there were open tables! Rude hostess too!

1 star is being nice. We had Shane for our server. He took forever to greet us and hardly made eye contact, didn't seem interested in anything for that matter. The chicken tortilla soup is nothing special. Very disappointed. If I ever am back in Des Moines, Iowa again I'll definitely never return here. Two thumbs down.

I was in Des Moines for work and decided to give it a try. The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is dirty beer lines (the food was good). Upon arrival, I ordered a Lagunitas IPA and it was so off it was bad. This place had about 35 beers on tap but no beer menu. It was easy to taste that the Lagunitas was either very old or had dirty lines on the tap. When i was done, and i could not finish it, i asked for a sample of Sierra Nevada. I really did not need a sample to see what it tasted like since i have been drinking Sierra for 25 years but wanted to see if it was marginally fresh. Well, as you can guess,it was bad. I ordered a bottle beer. The burger was very good, the tortilla soup was good but over salted. Perhaps this place would be better if you are a bud light drinker but do NOT go there for craft beer.

We have been to Legends a few times and have always had the typical bar/grill experience. Wasn't ever bad wasn't ever great. In general, service has been ok but could definitely improve. This last time we went, I had the best food experience at Legends yet. I ordered the Tilapia and was very happy with the meal. The fish was moist and just delicious! The sauce over the fish was tasty and the rice was perfect. Their fries are always good and they have a good beer selection.

Went here with my daughter, another couple and 3 dance girls after a competition. The place was packed we had a fairly short wait for a Friday night at 7:00. The waitress was outstanding, the food was good and in particular the fries were amazing. The only reason I would not give it 5 stars is because we were seated near the back door to their patio. Near the end of our dinner they decided to remove a number of bar stools and tables outside to make room for the band in the bar. The constant opening and closing of the door, blasting us with 25 degree air was really annoying. The waitress noticed how annoyed we were getting and apologized with a laugh, but management should have come over and acknowledged that they were ruining our otherwise delightful evening. I am fairly certain the band setting up in the bar was not a surprise!

The is the first time I have been to Legends in about 9 years. We decided to give it a try. It was absolutely amazing! It was pretty slow for a Friday night so we got in and out pretty quickly. The cheese burger was the best burger I have had in a very long time! The burgers are huge I could only eat half of it. Which is great for leftovers! Very reasonably priced! We each asked for a side of ranch for our burgers. It was $0.98 each. I think that it a little crazy. Won't be getting ranch next time. Agree with other reviewer, they do need longer straws. :)
