My wife and I ordered Cavatelli and it was terrible, suppose to be 3OZ of meat in it but there was about 1/10 of an ounce of meat if that much, terrible, the cooks are not putting enough meat in salads either, we will never go back, the people giving 5 stars must be friends of the employees!!

Friendly laid back atmosphere and excellent fried chicken with lots of tasty dessert options.

We took our kids today over my husbands lunch hour. We walked in and were seated by a gentleman that never said hi and never smiled. We sat there for 20 minutes, and never even had a waitress stop at our table. We would have appreciated someone to just to say hi and at least say they would be worth us in a moment. We finally got up to leave, and the waitress that had walked by our table 7 times didn't even ask why we were leaving. We will NEVER go back. Disappointed!

Will never go back ... the food was awful! Had to send all of our food back because it was NOT cooked all the way! Go to Perkins or Village Inn, trust me! This place will not be open long if they dont change things quick! GROSS!!!

Location number seven for this local restaurant. This is one of their largest locations, and thus has an expanded menu similar to the one on SE 14th. Look for Groupon and Deal Chicken discounts and try it out. They have an excellent breakfast, served all day.

I will start by saying my food was outstanding, I enjoyed the house speciality "cozy mess" the hash browns were crisp to perfection and had awesome fresh meats and veggies. My dinner partner had the fish dinner and besides being a little heavy on the breading, it was fried crisp. The two stars are because of the horrible service we received from our waitress. She was absolutely clueless to the menu items and forgot to bring items multiple times, including the side items to our meals, we had to ask 3 times after she brought out our meals for my toast and the baked potato toppings for my dinner partners side. It took her 15 minutes to refill waters and we watched her play on her phone behind the bar the majority of the time there. She never smiled or apologized, even after we told her, her service left a lot to be desired. We heard multiple other patrons rave on the service they received, so I think we just had the sour apple of wait staff. I will most likely go back and try again in the future.

Good service and friendly. Monday nite blue plate special. Chicken and noodles over mashed potatoes and wife had roast beef and mashed potatoes. All good

We are regulars at breakfast and tonight was dinner. The place was just getting busy but we sat like it was packed. The burgers were good and juicy. Felt bad for the one server on our side cause I think he wasn't used to the rush or larger group. The cavatelli was good and the seared salmon was cooked well too. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals but I think it was just an off night.

Can you say grease! Went for breakfast. The eggs were fried when I asked for scrambled. Green peppers were the colored variety. Hash browns were so greasy that I thanked the owner that their were napkins on the table to sop up the mess. Husband had pancakes that were uncooked. Guaranteed the worst breakfast ever. Also the hostess walked us way in the back to seat us . Floor was filthy so I asked to set in the front and she said NO. I should of known then just to walk out.

The service was mediocre but we left a 13% tip anyways. After leaving they added another 20% to our card. When we went back to correct it, Steve B., the manager, was condesending and arrogant. He refused to help and said it was our banks fault, tho he admits it happens sometimes at thier restaurant. I would recommend not eating here.

Just not run well. Had lunch at 1:30 on a weekday. Many tables hadn't been bussed even though there were only about 2-3 other customers at the restaurant. The place just wasn't clean. Food was generic. Caesar salad with too much dressing. Chicken sandwich over cooked. Definitely do not recommend.

Horrible service. Fries were soggy. The staff was more interested in their plans for the evening instead of their customers.

I have been to a couple of different Cozy Cafes and they were both about the same. Decor at this one is like a small town restaurant that has been in business for awhile without any updates. This time I was with a larger group of 17 people. Maybe the size of the group overwhelmed the staff but my dinner was lacking in quality and the waitress kept ahold of our credit card for so long that we were starting to get worried about it. I got the Cavatelli with italian sausage and mushrooms. It looked good but there wasn't enough sauce to cover the noodles and the sausage tasted like hamburger. Very disappointing.

We went around 5:00 on a Friday night and were seated right away. Unfortunately, that's where the service stopped. We looked over our menus and waited for someone to take our drink order. Wait staff passed our table multiple times, but no one stopped. After waiting about 15 minutes and watching other customers who were seated after us being waited on, we decided to leave. I then noticed a manager chatting away with a family at a nearby table. On our way out the door, two servers thanked us for coming in, to which I replied, "thanks for not waiting on us." The restaurant wasn't even half full and we were a party of three. I will never go there again.

The food is just plain bad. I can do better at home and i have little culinary skill. I ordered a French dip sandwich. Pretty easy to get right but pretty easy to screw up if the chef isn't particularly good at what he does. French dips are a great item to evaluate any restaurant by. The beef was shredded and a little chewy. First time ever to experience shredded in a FD sandwich. Really weird. The bun was really cheap bread and was not toasted with butter properly to help it keep shape instead of falling apart in a soggy mess when dipped in au jus. The au jus was a bit plainer than any I've had before. Also tried the chili cheese fries which were just ok. We ordered cinnamon rolls which we are told were fresh but were dry on the outside. They are similar in quality to what we could make at home out of frozen dough in a roll. It's evident the food is not a strong point of this establishment. It was obvious they were very understaffed. Two waitresses were serving the whole building while also seating and checking out guests. This was during a daytime lunch. If there was a manager present he/she was hiding somewhere instead of helping guests. Never saw him or her. Just go to Okoboji Grill next door instead. You'll be glad you did.

Slow service, jalapeño poppers were undercooked and the waiter took forever to bring ranch. Fried chicken was burnt and and the middle was raw. Hot beef was disgusting. Will not be back.

Sigh...ok, good news, bad news...to start, the place is 75% empty...and I understand why... Good: Pleasant and clean décor, gem of a waitress, killer onion rings...and the good news stops there. Bad: 15 minutes for an order of onion rings...another 30 minutes for 3 meals...45 MINUTES in an empty restaurant for "drop it in a fryer" food... Food, honestly, we'd have been better off buying 3 frozen dinners from a grocery store and heating them in a microwave...seriously. "Best Fried Chicken in DM"? WHAT? "Worst Chicken in DM" is more like it; absolutely flavorless crust and dried out meat. "Home Made" mashed potatoes???? Only if your mom used instant flakes your entire life. "Golden Corn" FROM A 55 GALLON DRUM...horrible...This is Iowa in Sept, Sweet Corn is being sold on every street corner...and they serve up this nasty cafeteria corn? "Gravy"...$100 says it came out of a can...or was an "Add water and heat" corporate gravy powder. The other two meals were just as bad and I'll spare you the details...to sum it up, this is WAY overpriced cafeteria food...the "Cozy Cafeteria" is the correct name...and unless your palate is geared towards frozen, microwaved, corporate food products...you'll be very displeased with the "food". To end on a positive... Management, you need to get your act together, hire real cooks, and EAT THE FOOD YOU SERVE...if you think it's "delicious", then your business is on it's way out of business..and the fact that you're offering Groupons is proof you're not getting the sales numbers you need as NO THRIVING restaurant gives away its food at half price..Good day.

Stopped in for a late breakfast on a recommendation. To start our waitress is obviously drunk but amazingly got our order correct. Not exactly a good first impression though. I started with an orange juice, quite possibly the worst one I've ever had. It is easily 60% water. I understand looking out for the profit margins but this is ridiculous. I sent this back and it was removed from the bill, but should have sent everything else back as well. For food I ordered the cozy breakfast with eggs over medium, bacon and hash browns with cheese. This is my staple when trying new places because if you can't get the basics correct why would I try something else? The eggs, of course they were cooked improperly. The edges were entirely browned and crispy and when I cut into the egg not only was the yolk soft but the whites on the inside still runny. It's obvious the skillet was too hot and not prepped properly to not burn and under cook my eggs at the same time. The hash browns were almost exactly what I expected after seeing the eggs. They tasted like burnt griddle on the outside and were room temperature in the middle. To the point that the cheese never actually melted. Overall this was a really bad experience. The waitress slurred and ensured it would be better next time though so maybe you'll have more luck.

I can't believe that anyone would give this place multiple stars. The food is atrocious. Undercooked, overcooked, just flat out disgusting. Poor quality ingredients. Watery orange juice. Watery syrup. And on top of the terrible food; I'm about 95% positive my waitress is drunk at 10am. *edit. Our waitress just informed us it'll be better next time. -_-

I have eaten at one of the other Cozy Cafes and always liked it, so was thrilled to see one opening so close to my home. Told my husband how good food usually is, so we went in for a late lunch after a doctor's apt. and as I had fasted for over 12 hours, I was extremely hungry. Our waitress was nice and we tipped her even though we sent all of our food back and left. While we were waiting for our food, another waitress or hostess was yelling at the top of her lungs at a young male employee. This was making us ill and very easy as you DO NOT discipline employees in front of customers. EVER. That young man brought the food to our table and we told him to keep his chin up and that we were sorry about the way that he was being treated! The fried chicken was very burnt and bacon cheeseburger was completely well done, the cheese on top was all coagulated and dried and bacon was like shoe leather. The waitress kept apologizing to us when we showed her the food and when we would not stay due to the excessively verbal abuse of the young man out in view of customers. We will NEVER visit this location again and probably none of the others now. Sorry. We are usually very easy to please and it is very hard for me to criticize someone in print like this, but I had to. The two employees, Ivy and Jason were very good to us.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
