Hostess was a little aloof. Service was great. Location is cool. I got the big plate that is highlighted on the menu in yellow, and it was ok in flavor, a little on the salty side, and decent in portion size. Someone else at my table got the chicken and it was dry. The mac is super mayonnaisey, so I passed on mine. I'd eat here again if chance put me there, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

Let's see, where do I start? First off when you pull up to this place you automatically think it's going to be bad! Once you step past the podium and you're seated at your table you realize you have the most amazing view! Then the menu, the menu is huge... Our waitress was very helpful and gave us some suggestions! Needless to say the food here along with our ocean view was amazing! They also have a great Happy hour and some of the best Mai Tai's! I will be back!

The breakfast was fantastic and you can't beat the view with a nice breeze. The dinner prices are the lowest you will find in Lahaina. The food is authentic Hawaiian and the shredded pork was our favorite!

the food we had here was just ok. not sure if it was what we ordered but from what we ordered, it was very average. we ordered the poke, which was a little too slimey and mushy. it didnt taste that fresh either and the grade didnt seem like it was the best. the onions were also cut too big to eat. the mochiko chicken was good but not great. it was cooked well and crispy. the kalua pig sandwich was basically just a sloppy joe. one of the picture that is listed didnt match what we ordered. its just two burger buns with the bbq pork in the middle with regular fries. the pork tasted good but overall it was pretty average.

Didn't explore the menu but the crispy shrimp were good as was the pig sandwich. Can't beat the price and view.

I have a mixed review for this place. The location and ambiance would be a 5 star review easy! The outdoor seating along the water, with luau music as background noise was absolutely breathtaking! The food, service, and presentation though was just so-so (the reason for the 2 star review). The food and drinks were served in tacky plasticware. The service was really poor, she came by a total of 3 times; drink order, food order, and check. The food seemed overpriced for the flavor and presentation. I think you are paying for the view and outdoor seating here, which, to be honest, was probably worth it. I will not be back, but don't regret stopping in....so yeah, just so-so. Oh, the hostess was amazing! She should be upgraded to a server, as she was far better than ours!

This place was great! Out door seating right on the beach. The food was good and it was a great price. They also have pretty good drinks. Hard to find parking around dinner time, but we parked at the Safeway and just walked down to it. We waited for about 25 min to get a table. Can't remember if they take reservations, but if you want to sit by the railing I would recommend getting a reservation. Also the service was wonderful. Had to ask the waitress how to eat the traditional food and she was more than happy to help. Must experience!!!!!!

Ambiance: Very casual and beachy place right along the water - makes for a nice view. Outdoor seating only. Drinks: Had Fuzzy Pineapple which was really good and the Nutty Mango. Drinks are reasonably priced, but pretty sugary and come in a small cup. Food: Food was prepared very quickly. Must have a good amount of it pre-cooked. We had the Aloha Mixed Plate (grilled fish, chicken thigh in shoyu sauce, and teriyaki beef) and the Beachside Plate (shoyu chicken, teriyaki beef, and short rib). Food was very flavorful, especially the beef, but the red meats were a bit fatty and chewy. Each dish comes with rice, macaroni salad, and bare cole slaw under the meat. Mac salad tasted good but a little too much mayo. Would say it's probably a better lunch spot or maybe an ok place to watch the sunset after walking around Lahaina.

Hidden gem. Great food. Affordable prices. Hospitable service. Fried noodles was great.

I recommend going for LUNCH, not breakfast. The first time we went here we went or breakfast. After leaving I said I was not going to go back, not impressed at all. The hype was too much and the food was subpar. However, we decided to give it another try and went for lunch. Good. Pretty darn good actually for the price. I had the Mochiko chicken and it was really good. It was my first time having it but I'm a fan and will be going back next time on the island. Friendly staff and beautiful view. Nice laid back place to go for LUNCH. Don't really recommend breakfast.

Just got done with the rounds of golf for my last day in Maui. So on my way back to my resort I decided to Yelp restaurants nearby and came across this place which had over 1700 reviews and decided to give it a shot. We ordered the their famous 2 dishes which are the FRIED NOODLES and MIXED PLATE. After taking the first bite of the nooldes, my mouth started to dry up due to the excessive SALT used in their recipe. As for the mixed plate, which was a bit better than then noodles still was disappointing. Don't get me wrong, the view is decent, right along the beach front but if it's your first time in Maui (like us) and want good food for a good price, this is not it. I am still boggled as why there are so many reviews though!? Maybe due to the lower end of pricing $? Who know... be warned.

Fantastic! We found out about this place because of the AAA Tour Book. Otherwise, we would have never found it. So glad we did! We had to wait 20 minutes for a table and it was hot, but that's not their fault. The view was breathtaking. We got lucky and arrived just before happy hour, so we ordered the shoyu chicken - a smokin' deal at $6.95, and a bud light, which was on special for $1.50!!! Our kids each ordered the grilled cheese and raved about it. Can't wait to go back again!

We had dinner here and loved it. We ordered the Aloha mixed plate, one of their house specialties consisting of teriyaki beef, soyo chicken and island fish with rice. It was so good that we decided to order another entree and got the kolbi beef ribs. One word! Delicious! The atmosphere is also great, ocean side seating and attentive friendly staff. Not to mention their awesome drinks! If you are in Lahaina you must try this place!!

Aloha Mixed Plate. There seems to be a lot of hype around this place. Let's see how worthy it is... Location: a plus for sure. It's on the north side of Lahaina, which I've noted before is great for being away from the tourist foot traffic. We ordered some Mai Tai's to start. It was happy hour and at $3.50 how could we not? BTW...beers were $1.50 while we smile. This is yet another place that is not going to win awards for a Mai Tai, but they are serviceable and sucking down two prior to giving this review may just work in their favor. The order consisted of... The Crispy Korean Shrimp This should be the signature plate. Dashed with a pepper sauce and garlic mayo. The garlic is light and the creaminess of the mayo and light battering makes this a perfect texture. The flavor is subtle, but lingering. This is stuff that makes a kitchen and a customer. Wow. We ordered a second plate. The Aloha Mixed Plate This is the namesake of the restaurant, so how can you not order it? It's teriyaki beef, shoyu chicken and fresh Mahi Mahi (catch of the day). First, I'm a bigger fan of Ono, but that's me. The Mahi Mahi was moist, tender, flaky and grilled perfectly. Mahi Mahi tends to have more of a fishy flavor to it, which is why I don't jump at ordering it up. This time it carried a little of an ocean flavor, but nothing that kept me from indulging. The chicken may be the shining point in this dish. Thin, skin on and a touch of sweetness--it was cooked with care and was still moist. The beef, well I tried it and it was good although my wife and son decided to leave nothing more behind, so that goes untouched in this review. I suppose that's just fine with me, because it had me order up another plate of Crispy Korean Shrimp! Oh, yes, and a Mai Tai. If there's anything additional to add its that they have a walkway just south of the patio where a few children migrated while awaiting food. It was safe and in eye and ear shot thus allowing the kids to play and make friends. To top it all off they found a small coconut, which kept the little ones busy with curiosity as they managed to crack it against the tide wall. As for the service, you cannot say anything negative. They were attentive, timely and I swear they poured heavy just to make me smile all the way through happy hour! Ask for Jennifer if you are hoping for the same experience. In summary, you will not go wrong here during happy hour nor likely at dinner time. Next visit I'll give a dinner review, but for now I'm left beyond content, slightly buzzed and with money in the pocket to move on to the next review. Mahalo! I hope you enjoyed the review and it was helpful. - Chris Birchby

This place has been a favorite for years, I figured it was time to finally write them a review! My go to here is the Furikake Fries and Chinese Chicken Salad. I clean my plate every time. They changed their fries a few years ago and these aren't as good (more limp), but with that furikake topping they are still delish. This time I tried their Upcountry Garden Salad with fish. I was not disappointed and would have that again. Greens and veges were really fresh (and local!) and the fish was cooked perfectly. It came with a sweet maui onion dressing, which was tasty but a bit thick. Next time I will ask if they offer something a bit lighter. The atmosphere and view is really nice, and I was there for dinner so we heard the Royal Lahaina Luau going on next door, which was kind of fun. Finally, they have the best mai thais on the island! Their prices are really reasonable, and happy hour (2-6) is even better.

After two attempts of eating somewhere else and finding them to be closed, Aloha Mixed Plate saved the day for being open mid-afternoon for a late lunch. Island life problems, uhuh! You'll never know when a business is open or closed. Outdoor seating with a view is such a tourist bate so expect to see lots of them here. We had their HAMBURGER STEAK ($8.95) topped with mushrooms and gravy which came with a side of macaroni salad and rice. It was "ono" but nothing extraordinary. Their FRIED NOODLES ($8.50) was too salty and greasy if you ask me. Just happy I had a nice glass of PINA COLADA ($6.50) to wash down all that sodium. It was actually my favorite thing here, not only because of the alcohol content, but it tasted so refreshingly good. I couldn't say service was good nor bad, it was alright. Prices are in the $10 range and they are open all day and late so that's a plus in my book. All in all, it's A-OK! 3.4 stars!

One of favorite dinner spots in Maui. Good food, casual dining outside, partial view of the harbor, crayons for the kids, good cocktails, prompt service. No "kids menu", which is a plus since that is typically tasteless and unhealthy. The salads are good, as are the Kalbi short ribs and Shoyu Chicken. Price is right, portions are good (well, the Ahi poke could be a couple ounces bigger, but that's a quibble of desire). Not part of the tourist traps downtown. Why only 1 star? Well... I don't want a flood of people showing up at one of my favorite places unless they really do their homework. It's really a 5 star place.

I'm still dreaming of my Ono or Mahi fish sandwich lunches with a side salad. Bonus for letting me swap for fries! Really, that means a lot :) My husband loves your Kalua Pig, Fish Plate, Mac Salad - he was the guy who ordered 4 sides, yes 4! hahaha The milkshakes looked really good - just a tip. I love the casual atmosphere, it's laid back, and you can walk up by Mala and see Honu (turtles feeding on the rocks). Until next time AMP - Love you!!!

We went on a Wednesday night 35 min before they closed. We were seated quickly, service was really friendly and quick. The proximity to the ocean was great. We sat overlooking the ocean. My boyfriend and I both had the kahlua pork and cabbage. He had mango tea and I had water. My boyfriend is Hawaiian and an excellent cook. His kahlua pork and cabbage is definitely one of my favorite dishes ever. I wasn't sure this place would measure up. They did. The food was excellent. I ate so much I felt like I had one of those puppy bellies. The prices were great too. $20 for two dinners and a beverage. I cannot think of one reason to give anything less than 5 stars.

Great location ! Outdoor seating with the view of the Ocean. You can hear the waves while having your meal. Our waiter , Gus is an excellent server. I would give the Location and Costumer service a 5 star !!! Mai tai is delicious , strong And very cheap. Who said, Maui is expensive? :) we had appetizer, coconut shrimps , the short ribs, Ono fish , chicken are very all tasty , but the teriyaki beef is tough. I would recommend this place to everyone .

Pros: 1. Location! Has ample parking space, and the view is great. 2. Happy hour mai tais $3.50. Neutral: 1. Food. Not bad, but nothing great. I've definitely had better. 2. Servers were pleasant. Cons: 1. Service. It took a while for us to get seated, despite it not being full. Servers were just standing around and chatting. When we finally got seated, it was at the table closest to the rest room. I had to ask if we could sit at a table closer to the front by the water. Server's response? "Sure, just move your stuff wherever you want" and then he wandered away to chat with another server. 2. Cleanliness (or lack of). The tables were filthy. And I don't mean from leaves/etc just being an outdoor restaurant. I mean filthy... Sticky, with food scraps from previous diners. At least 4 empty tables were like this, and no one made a move to clean them the entire hour we were there. I had to wipe down our table, as did the diners in the tables next to us, and the server just looked at us as if it's completely normal for customers to clean tables. Slow service isn't all that bad, I know it's a more laid back lifestyle here... But please, keep your restaurant clean.

Ordered the fish of the day with rice and it was pretty good. I must say service isn't the best here--we were still in the middle of eating our dinner and was asked if we wanted to order dessert. When we said no, our check was promptly given to us while still eating. I also ordered food to go; when I came to pick up my food, the two waitresses that were there didn't even bother to look at me and ask me if I needed any help (and I was the only one standing there in front of them), I had to pretty much wait for their conversation to end and practically wave my arms at them to get their attention.

All of the food tasted like it had been previously cooked and was reheated when we ordered. The food arrived quickly too, which adds some backing to that theory. We ordered 3 dishes and an appetizer. Kalua Cabbage - pork tasted old, poor flavor Aloha mixed plate - fish was good, beef overcooked, chicken tastes reheated Huli chicken sandwich - very fatty. Ordered garlic fries to replace regular and received extra salted fries; no garlic, or maybe it was garlic salt. Server brought waters at the beginning and did not offer to bring drinks - had to ask for drinks after food arrived. Gets 2 stars because location is great. Food was not good. I've eaten at many Hawaiian plate restaurants on several islands, and this may have the worst food.

This review is for the bar only, we came during Happy Hour while we were waiting to get into the Luau. It's owned by the Old Lahaina Luau and we had already paid for food and drinks there, so we were reluctant to spend more on booze. Luckily, they have Rolling Rock (and Bud products) for $1.50 and strong ass Mai Tais for $3.50. We didn't order any food, but the plates they carried past us looked tempting. it is right on the water with a gorgeous view. But, what really did it for us was when we walked in, "Come and Get Your Love" by Red Bone was playing. Super cold place.

Always wanted to try this place since everyone has been talking about it! For starters we got the furikake garlic fries which we're pretty good, but something you could easily make at home for sure. For lunch I got the beef tomato, my brother got the hamburger steak, and his girlfriend got the chopped steak. The beef tomato wasn't what I expected..maybe because I was comparing it to the beef tomato that my mom makes, but overall it was alright. My brother and his girlfriend enjoyed their meals but thought it was just alright as well. Another time my friend and I stopped by for lunch here as well. One thing about this place is that the wait is really long..sometimes up to an hour. This time my friend and I got the fish sandwich and also some cocktails. Overall, this place is alright. There prices are very reasonable and there is definitely something for everyone's taste! Try it!!

Cute local place right on the water. Their house special rice is very good. We went here two days in a row for breakfast. Their Mai Tais are good and strong. Great happy hour.

My favorite place on Maui! I come here multiple times every trip. Breakfast and lunch mostly, but also dinner and happy hour. Great setting right on the beach and reasonable prices. I love their Hawai'ian food and get either the Kahlua Pork or the Mixed Plate every time. I'm a writer and sometimes I'll come here post-lunch to eat and they let me write at a great table by the ocean for several hours, which I cap off with a couple of happy hour beers. So fun! Not fancy. Outdoors, with plastic tables and chairs which are pretty comfortable. Super friendly staff (they even recognized me! even though I live in LA and only visit a few times a year). Very helpful if you have food allergies, etc.--just ask. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Great local eats, long wait, even when plenty of tables are available. But that's just what happens because everything else is so so so expensive. I recommend the Lau Lau, despite the looks, it's actually pretty good.

This is a lot of food for not very much money, and during happy hour you can get $3.50 Mai Tais! Having said that, the food isn't exactly delicious. It just scraped by as tolerable (we had a traditional mixed plate and some fried noodles), but not particularly recommended.

  • Bob F.

My wife and I both enjoyed our meals very much. Service was great. The $3.75 mai tai was a bit weak but still a terrific price and it tasted fine. The view is nice, very close to the water. No inside seating, which could be a negative depending on weather. We were there in March and there was a cold rainy storm that passed through so there was plenty of rain and chilly wind to be found. But our weather for this meal was just fine.

Talk about a cozy spot on the beach! Loads of Maui Aipono awards plus zagar rated. Short ribs and their catch of the day Ono is the bomb! awesome service, great vibe! GREAT PLACE TO END YOUR BEACH DAY RUN!

Good Hawaiian food with great views - I loved loved my bbq pork sandwich (roll was soooo good) and hubs liked the mixed plate but said the fish was a bit dry. Service was good - friendly and quick. The sunset was lovely!

Sat down and our waitress didn't come by for 10 minutes. Then came by and asked if we wanted anything to drink, we were fine with water and we were ready to order food, but she ran away so fast. Then we waited 10 more minutes and the owner finally came by and finally took our order. We ordered the Kailua pig hash with eggs and a side of spam cooked crispy and no bread, and the Kailua pig omelette. It then took 45 minutes to get our food. The food was bland, they brought bread anyways, the spam was not cooked crispy, it looked just warmed up. The hash and omelette were both bland and were not seasoned at all. Will not return or recommend this place.

Great food; the way the locals like to eat! I don't know why there are so many disappointing reviews. We were recommended to come here by a local and after reading some reviews almost didn't go; but so glad we did. Food is great and came out fast. It's local food on a beach front patio dinning area. If your looking for fantasy this isn't the place. But if you're looking for casual dinning with great local food and a good view of the water and boats then this is the place you want to go.

This is one of my fave spots to eat before we go to the market and after arriving from a long plane flight into Maui. Located behind Safeway Supermarket, this small, outside dive has authentic Hawaiian food. Note: It is owned by the same company that puts on the Laua, so it has to be par. Featuring a tiny bar, it has great Happy Hours and Pupus. I love the local plate which offers kalua pork, teriyake steak, and shoyo chicken with poi, mac salad and rice. Meals are yummy, but waits can be long and weather pending. The servers are kind, but never seem over all together. The view is very beautiful for a simple local hang out. Aloha!

This is a very convenient place to eat outdoors! The service was really friendly and the price is really affordable. I got a really delicious Lava Flow. I also ordered an omelette with shredded pork but it was a little bit dry. I paid a dollar extra for a tiny little cup of oily macaroni salad. My cousin got the steak and eggs but it was a little bit dry she said. I will say that the lunch menu looks really delicious!

Really enjoy the kalua pork here (I've had it at least 10 times). Great location and a good staff with really good drinks. And BIG food (Maui style). Why not stop by...

I ordered the Aloha mixed plate and kalbi. We got the order to go. Everyone was nice and the order came out fairly quickly. What they decided to include was pretty good, but they didn't include the fish with the mixed plate. The name of the restaurant is Aloha Mixed plate and they don't know what it comes with? They weren't busy at all either.

I really like Hawaiian meat plates in general so when we were in the area and I saw this place on yelp, I convinced my husband to try this place. We sat in the back patio which was nice, we enjoyed the fresh warm Hawaiian air, the sound of ocean nearby, and the nice casual seating area. There was a luau next door and we can hear and see glimpses of the performance, which was a bit strange and distracting. For dinner we ordered a meat platter and the luau platter, both were ok, nothing super special. When the food came out it didn't taste very fresh, like they had been sitting under a heating lamp for a while. I really liked the idea of this place, but just wasn't really impressed by the food. I would go back for drinks, not sure if I would for food though.

I think this place deserves 5 stars. As mentioned, this place is cozy and in a great location on the beach. The view of sunset and boats sailing in near the coastline is amazing. The wait times can be a little long but its worth it, and often times you can just walk up to the bar and grab a drink while you wait for a table. If you are staying at The Westin or Sheraton there is a bus you can take that will drop you off right in front of the Cannery. This place is just behind that. So far Aloha Mixed Plate has the best Poi I've ever had. The food is always excellent and probably the most reasonable prices on the island. Can't wait to eat here again this September.

Under different circumstances i would give this place 5 stars. right when we showed up it started raining pretty hard and everyone had to get under cover since it is all outdoors. we found seats at the bar and i asked the bartender if we could order food there and she said yes... but 10 min later her attitude just took a DIVE and she was being beyond rude to everyone... i get it... it rained and ruined their night but still..... keep your customers happy... For the food.... SO SO SO SO SO SO SO YUMMY!!! the drinks.... DELICIOUS and very cheap compared to other spots. if it wasnt raining it would have been perfect... but... you take that chance.

This place is not worth it better to go to Kimos especially for happy hour/small plates. Flies, average food and servers that really didn't see toward about you their jobs. Drinks were good and that was it.

Where do we start... This is a must stop every time we're on the island. We've never had anything that was just okay. My husband loves the poke. It's delicious! We recommend the aloha mixed plate. It's a great way to try a little of everything. You have to have a Mai tai. It's worth it even if it's not happy hour. The food is great and the bar staff even better!

Great place for breakfast or casual lunch. Nice cocktail selection too. We usually are a little cautious with breakfast places because portions are really big. But there are a couple of selections just the right size. Like the fruit plate or the paniolo toast. Ask for the catch of the day too.

Great place to meet up with people on the casual side. The outdoor seating is perfect for whale watching and sunsets. Come before 7pm because the line will get long! Food was on par with good Aloha style dishes. We got: BBQ Beef Mixed Plate= 4 stars, I could have done without the hulihuli chicken. mac salad is so yummy! Loco Mocco= 5 stars, they do it differently here "island patty" style. Ask for that because it is the bomb dot biz Lau Lau Plate= 3 stars, it is standard. The great thing about this location is it's next to a luau and so you get you pretend you're paying premium for some hula noise dancing. heheh Server was great as well! I will be back!

Loved it. For $8.95 I had the Kalua pork and cabbage, one of the best tasting dishes I've had on Maui. Two others in our party, and they enjoyed their meals as well. No frills here, but honest good food. Make sure to Save room for The pineapple upside down cake. Great service, outdoor, and Oceanside. A must try lunch spot.

I thought the mixed plates we ordered were good, much better than the chain (l&l), but a bit pricey for what we got. Granted, it is cheaper than the higher end spots in the area, but considering this wasn't fine dining I think the prices were a bit steep for what we got. Yes, it's near the beach, but we spent about the same amount of money for a meal we had at Duke's Beach House which is right on Kaanapali beach. Our server was attentive, outgoing, and friendly, and we appreciated that. Overall I think Aloha should adjust their prices as I think they overprice the food. Perhaps if sitting in their dining area then they can keep their rates but definitely should lower prices for food to go.

I've been coming to Aloha Mixed Plate for at least a decade and it's become a required stop while in Maui. Two years ago I noticed the food wasn't as good and this visit was no different. I had the Beach Side mixed plate which consisted of a small piece of flavorless, boiled "shoyu chicken", teriyaki steak (very thin but not bad) and kalbi ribs, which were the best of the three, even if I had to rip the meat off with my teeth. The serving sizes aren't terrible large for plate lunch places, aside from the rice. The prices have gone up, as well. Anyhow, one star for location, another for service, and a third because the kalbi was tasty, despite being tough.

Its on the water, good for the views and inexpensive meal but has mediocre food. The food is as bland as it gets, the entress are served with tasteless chicken, fish or beef with plain rice and macaroni salad. The fish (maui maui) we had was fresh but the chicken and beef were not good quality. I would not go here again as there are many other and better options in Lahina

The guy Caucasian hottest is super nice. Very helpful and attentive. The bartenders were awful...bad service. There were 2, One Caucasian and one Hawaiian bartender. The Caucasian bartender was behind the bar when my husband approached. She did not acknowledge him whatsoever. She didn't even see him! Mind u, the bar seats 3 ppl...it was filled by 3 of her friends probably since they were showing each other pics on Facebook. She was checking her phone while working as well and did not notice my husband. The other bartender was just a miserable bitch. No smiles....acted like she was hating her life with every step she took in the restaurant. I politely asked her for a different drink since the champagne they served was Andre brand and too sweet for my taste. She sarcastically replied "SURE" and "SURE" She made me a piña colada and didn't even garnish it! I had to come back and garnish it myself. Shoot I'm in Hawaii and want my drink to look good. Not only that, make the damn drink right! Freaken tastes like shit too. It wasn't just bc if this incident. She seemed to just hate being there overall and it completely shows in the service delivered. Our waitress was nice. Pretty much everyone was nice except for that desolated depressed bartender. The shrimp and poke we had were so good!!! Like extremely!!! My mix plate was no good. Fish was too fishy, chicken was dried and the steak was tuff. The Ali-i plate was ok but my husband didn't mind it. The pork was pretty good. We read good and bad reviews and received referrals to try the food here from locals. The service level needs to be consistent tho. We would not come back here just bc of the service.

Located behind the mall w/ a beautiful beach view. This is an outdoor cozy restaurant. We were seated fast while our server w/ our drinks took our orders just minutes before we were seated. We ordered the aloha mixed plate (13.99) and teriyaki beef (10 bucks). Teriyaki beef (served w/ 2 cups of rice and Mac salad) - the meat was dry and grisly; some parts of it had a noticeable freezer burn taste. Aloha mixed plate served w/ 2 cups of rice and Mac salad) - chicken, fish and beef were tasteless. Beef was tough and dry; chicken was dry and the fish, well it was fish. We had the Hispanic waitress and she was pretty terrible. Although she got our order fast, it wasn't really her who served us, our food were brought by another guy and when I needed something, I had to ask another waitress for it, for she was nowhere to be seen. Not to mention, she didn't even care to refill my empty cup. Our food took almost 30 minutes after it was placed. Because this is an outdoor restaurant, be prepared for flies and birds flying everywhere. All in all, I recommended checking out other restaurants on the other side of front street near the harbor (3 min drive/10 min walk); unless desperate for food.

This is our favorite spot to come when we're on Maui. Fairly reasonable prices with good Hawaiian food. Like a luau without the steep price tag. I will say, the price of the combo luau plate seems to have increased. But it's still a lot of food, so I can't really complain. The Korean shrimp was new this time: and I think their coconut shrimp was better! Bring that back please!! My favorite dish is definitely the pork wrapped in tea leaves. So so good. I thought I'd like the Kailua pork more, but the tea leaf pork had way more flavor. Kailua pork lacks some seasoning, and I usually have to ask for salt to bump it up. Overall, love going here, it's a family tradition and I always love to come back.

This is a nice place to get a decent lunch plate on Maui that isn't too touristy (but still touristy nonetheless). The food was decent, not wonderful, but not bad. But if you are in the area and want a lunch plate, then this is a good place to hit up. There is something for everyone on the menu, so for you picky eaters (especially tourists not used to island fare) there is something for you. They're located near the Old Lahaina Luau, so it's easy to locate (behind the Safeway) and convenient if you are staying near Lahaina. Only 3 stars because it was a bit over-priced for what we got.

Loved this place. Friendly staff, generous bartenders, great location. The prices were great, the foid hit the spot, and the smiles never stopped. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in town.

Casual dining spot if you're hungry, closeby, and don't want to search for a place. Hubby ordered the chicken teriyaki plate with rice and macaroni salad, and I had the beef teriyaki plate with a fried egg, rice, and macaroni salad. The meat quality was OK - more fatty than lean. I tasted mostly soy sauce, and the BBQ wasn't charred. I usually like my Hawaiian BBQ a little on the "burnt" side, but this wasn't. Pros: very nice service, and love that most of the tables are outdoors. Prices are reasonable (on the cheaper side). Nice view of the ocean, too. However, since the food was just OK, and there are lots of other choices near the beach, we most likely won't be back again.

The family was vacationing in Maui, as most others were in attendance. It was a pretty hot/humid day so headed down to Mixed Plate to treat the family to lunch. There was nothing special about the food at all and we all thought the macaroni salad was among the worst we've ever tried. Service was par, at best. Most of us ordered the simple chicken/mac/rice dish - something you would think should be pretty straight forward. The chicken looked boiled, definitely was not seasoned at all. Some plates came with two scoops of mac (no rice) and others with 2 rice (no mac). No biggie, 'switch-a-roo'! Unfortunately this was not an edible 'switch-a-roo'. I think 60% of the food got tossed. Due to the fact that I was so hungry that I would have eaten anything, I finished my meal (minus mac salad) and I was no longer hungry. That earns an extra star for filling me up and a 1 star would make me feel bad. No chance any of us will ever be back. I'll stick to Hawaiian chains here in Oregon from now on. Good luck y'all! Cheers!

What a gem! We are here after a long day of snorkeling and pool time. AMP was highly recommended and did not disappoint! We had a brief 15 min wait for our table and were able to enjoy happy hour Mai Tais. Our table enjoyed the Chow Fun, teriyaki beef and the Aloha Mixed Plates. All were fabulous. Kids enjoyed the non-alcohol Lava Flows too. Must stop in if in the area and get there before the end of happy hour at 7pm.

What a really cute place to dine on our first day in Maui! We had no plans to eat anywhere specific, but from the airport we got a little hungry! We asked a local where we should dine for a quick bite. He told us about this place. It's an outdoor type area, reminds a little bit of a picnic area by the beach! As we sat down the locals thought we were locals! My husband and I get that a lot. People think we look more Hawaiian, than Filipino. I take that as a compliment! When I looked at the menu, they had different varieties of food. From sandwiches to noodles. From island style chicken to loco mocos to fresh island fish. I didn't know what to do? So many choices, so little time! I decided on the chow funn. It consists of wide noodles, generous amount of ground turkey, bean sprouts, and green onions lightly fried to perfection! The chow funn was hardly oily. I had a piece of Turkey on every bite! My husband got the kalua pig sandwich. There was a good amount of kalua pig in between two pieces of white bread. It came with a small plate of sauce. Don't be fooled, it looks like a small plate of gravy, but it's actually this sweet guava BBQ sauce. Both would be really good, just wanted to warn you so you won't shock your tastebuds! I would definitely come here again, however I would have to wake up early to try their breakfast! I would have to get the Hawaiian sweet bread French toast or the big braddah!!!

While this was definitely a better priced place to eat in Maui, we were a little disappointed in the food. The location is hidden behind the cannery mall and is right on the water. It's a small divey place but has great ocean views. The staff was friendly and seated us right away on a busy night. We got a combo and a teriyaki chicken plate. The main dishes were cooked well with lots of flavor. Unfortunately, they were both served on a bed of overcooked dry rice that was close to inedible. I know it's the side dish but it's usually great to have that fluffy rice to soak up all the yummy extra sauce from the meat. They had great happy hour drink specials including $3.50 Mai tais (cheapest I found during my stay). I might try it again hoping that they were just having an off night.

Happy hour $3.50 Mai Tai, the fish of the day was fresh, light and flavorful!....no need for sauce this fish holds its own while simply prepared. I walked up and down Front Street and couldn't have been happier with my lunch choice! Thank you for a wonderful meal and amazing service!!

Visiting Maui Hawaii for the first time and came to this little restaurant for the first time. Was excited to try their famous plates. Our server was a little rude when taking our drink orders and fishy check on us often. It wasn't busy at the time we went to eat and she didn't bring our water until we were almost done eating. If your looking for a cheap plates place or one with good servers I wouldn't recommend it. 9/12/25

Excellent food an service. Perfect view of the water just a few steps away. Awesome place to see a sunset. The sounds of the Luau next door compliment the dining experience. (There is a sound wall so the volume isn't overbearing.) The food was great! I had the Mochi chicken, wife had the kalbi ribs and my daughters had the fried noodles. Also made some time for a lava flow and nutty mango drink! The prices are reasonable and cheaper than a lot in the area. Will def be back!!!

I'm afraid three stars is a fair review for this place... We got here at 10:30 sharp which is the cut off time for breakfast. The manager took our order before we sat down. It took 45 mins to get our order. The lady next to us had her order come out wrong and her family was finished by the time she got her food 20 mins later! Food was fine, Loco Moco was nothing special and barely warm. Half the patty was well done and other part was med rare! My husbands omelette was warm and he enjoyed it. The pog and oj was great and our entire meal was under $25 They could use a little better response time and then please bring out hot food. Outside searing was lovely but not a TDF view. I've been here before and had better meals and service.

Came here for lunch with my friends today. It's a cute outdoor restaurant with ocean-front seating (literally - the beach is just over the low wall...). It also has free parking!! The service was so nice and friendly here. Instead of looking to yelp for my dining decision, I asked the waitress what she most recommended. She said her favorite dish is the Lau Lau - a traditional Hawaiian dish that is pork, beef, and taro wrapped in luau and ti leaves. It's steamed for about 20 hours (says the waitress) until tender. I opted to try it - it's certainly different from other foods I have. She described the leaves as having an almost-spinach taste...I honestly wasn't a HUGE fan of it on my first bite, but the more I ate of it, the more I liked it. My friends also ordered the Aloha Mixed Plate, which comes with beef, chicken, and fish, and the fried noodles. Those dishes seemed much bigger than mine. I tried some of the noodles and was impressed with how much flavor is packed in there! All of their noodles are homemade, also, which I just love. To drink, I decided to try the Sassy Wahine, a mango margarita with strawberry swirl and a li hing mui rim. This was SO YUMMY. It had the perfect amount of sweetness that allowed you to taste the fruit, but I could also taste all the alcohol in there (don't you hate when you order a drink with alcohol but, when you drink it, it just tastes like juice??) Overall, I really liked this place. Not sure that I would order the Lau Lau again, but the rest of their food looked so delicious (and my friends said their dishes were really good). I will be sure to come again on my next visit to Maui!!

We have visited Aloha Mixed Plate several times when we have gone to Maui. The location is nice, outside on the water. The staff is very friendly and the food is good. Prices are very reasonable. I've always ordered the teriyaki beef which comes with rice and macaroni salad. I've never had a complaint with my choice in lunch/dinner - My husband has ordered multiple items and said everything was good. I wish they would take reservations, they get very busy. But other than that, everything is perfect!!

Been coming here for years and it is a favorite for an inexpensive casual lunch or dinner with great ocean front views. If you are coming during peak lunch or dinner don't bother with the small parking lot and park in the Cannery Shopping Center across the street and walk over. Expect to wait up to 30 minutes to get a place when it's busy, which it often is. On your first visit you can get one of the Mixed Plates with a variety of traditional Hawaiian foods, but I've now settled on my favorite ... Kahlua pork either in a sandwich or in a plate with cabbage. The macaroni salad is a great complement, as is the Haupia dessert.

I try REALLY hard not to write negative reviews. I understand that often times they are not helpful and cruel. However, when something is just so concerning, I hope that this review will help others and even get the attention of management. My fiance and I waited about 35 minutes for a table, it didn't feel long, we could hear the Luau and he even went across the street to the Cannery for a little bit while I waited. This place was PACKED! And for the rest of our vacation every time we drove by it was always busy. (Shockingly so.) We got a table right by the water, and I could even see the Luau from my seat, very cool. We ordered garden salad's with a Maui onion dressing and it was pretty delicious! I ordered the Kalua pork which I had read all about in guide books and my fiance ordered grilled cheese and fries. The pork was AWFUL. It had no flavor whatsoever and tasted like someone had poured salt water over it. I really couldn't eat it. It came with wilted flavorless cabbage and rice and a really bad tasting macaroni salad. My fiance's grilled cheese was not even cooked! The cheese was still raw! The fries were meh, and we had to ask for ranch dressing 2 or 3 times from our waitress before she finally remembered to bring it. I'd been seeing stray cats around Lahaina the last few nights, and took the pork to go and dumped it by a parking lot hoping the cats would get a good meal, and if they didn't like it, at least they can't write another bad review. I would give this place 1 star, but the salad was good, and I did like the location. Other than that, two paws down!!

Not impressed with the food... The food was OK. Not really that great tasting. I ordered the lau lau plate and was very disappointed. It was dry and small. We also ordered the Chinese chicken salad and the shoyu chicken, both were "meh" again. Not enough flavor in the salad dressing and the shoyu chicken was salty. We decided to give it another try and went back for breakfast. Bad move... No impressive local breakfast choices. We ordered the big kahuna omelette and the big braddah plate and a waffle. Again... everything was "meh". Hardly any flavor to the omelette and very small servings and the waffle was halfway cooked. If you're going to name your plates with "BIG"... It better be BIG. The servings are not very BIG and the flavors are not very BIG either. The reasons for 3 stars are location, friendly staff and cleanliness of the facility... That's all.

Great place to eat for dinner. Can't go wrong with the Loco Moco or Shoyu Chicken. Poke bowl was ok and for some reason took a long time to get. It's right next door from the Old Lahaina Luau so you can hear the music. Very nice sunset viewing too!
