Was pleasantly surprised by this place. We had time to kill before our flight and ended up in this food court for a quick dinner. I had the bbq mix and my daughter the healthy grilled mahi mahi. It was very tasty and fresh. Plus the portions were generous.

They lost my business when I watched the cashier clip her fiver nails behind the counter while she had no customers. With all the open food, I was shocked. The service is always bad. THe orange chicken awful. They have mean roaches. No thanks I'll eat at one on Oahu if I'm craving L&L

Food was so so. There was probably 6 people back there and a couple customers waiting. Took 25 minutes to get my food. They all seemed miserable. 4 other restaurants in the same food court...will try one of those next time

Here are a couple of short reviews since I've reviewed many other L&Ls before... This location on Dairy Road was absolutely delicious! Located inside the food court, they are also combined with some Chinese food place.... Why did I say this one is really good? The Katsu Chicken was fried to perfection.... although the meat could be thicker, the crispy texture at this location is just perfect! If you are craving katsu chicken and don't want to spend too much, visit this location while you are in Maui!

I was so not a fan of this spreading-like-wildfire business of Panda Express-like food. BUT, I do have one reason to patronize this place, or any of their other numerous locations. Atmosphere: Located in the food court of the Maui Marketplace. Sad and lifeless corner of the mall. Food: Chicken katsu - The infamous Hawaiian plate. Breaded chicken cutlet, mac salad and rice. The chicken is crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Not overcooked and the oil doesn't taste old. The mac salad is pretty tasty as well, with NO raw onions! Yay!! I didn't even try the katsu sauce because more than likely it'll be too sweet for me, as is the case with all other restaurants that offer it. I like the sauce I have at home - either the Kagome or Kikkoman brands which are saltier. Service: Takeout was pretty quick, about 10 minutes from order to leaving. Staff are friendly. Overall: I have no desire to try anything else on their menu, so as long as they offer chicken katsu, I'm happy.

You know the thing is I usually dont have a problem with any of the L&L locations, i mean the food isnt the best local food you can find anywhere but its usually not the worst either, except for when i visited the kahului food court location near sports authority. Lately L&L have been trying to copy the world famous Ramen Burger with their own version, so we decided to order that, along with some chow mein noodles and a side of spicy eggplant. Pretty much things they've always had on the menu that should be almost impossible to screw up. First off we tried ordering chicken fried rice, no brainer for us the Lahaina and Honokowai locaitons always are happy to fulfull the order even though it isnt on the menu, but here we get a funny look from the girls that are taking our order, like i wasnt speaking in their native language of micronesia. So after being told that wasnt possible, (come on seriously their regular friend rice with chopped up bbq chicken on it, so hard right?) we end up sitting and waiting for our order, which seemed to take forever, since we were the only customers in line. They call our number we get our plates and sit down, and i swear it was almost comical what we saw, i was literally waiting for the punked cameras to appear. What we got was overcooked chowmein noodles with some plastic bag pieces, two huge eggplant logs that were undercooked and sitting in cold spicy sauce and the best part the ramen burger where the buns are supposed to be fried ramen noodles shaped and made to look like buns, we got two giant LP record sized thinly made and overcooked to hard noodle patties, with a teriyaki burger patty the size of the one that comes in your happy meal at mcdonalds. Flavor wise, the noodles were bland and overcooked, the eggplant was just silly, and the ramen burger, umm yeah maybe they should have given up when they lawsuit was filed against them for copyright infringement. Dont waste your time here, go to Bale or Fernando's if you are at this food court.

I ordered the saimin burger, which was $7.50. I was the only person at the counter, but it took about five minutes for staff to take my order. I then waited about 25 minutes for one saimin burger. Wow, it was a huge disappointment. A tiny burger with a little bit of teriyaki sauce, lettuce and two large fried saimin 'buns'. Burger too flat and small, and not tasty. Noodles were too big (for the meat), sloppy (had to eat with knife and fork), and not like a bun, but a sad attempt at cake noodle, which kept falling apart. The worst was that it just wasn't tasty.

This place isn't for everyone. But if you want local food with a great portion, this is the place to go. I love the chicken katsu. Their healthy mahi-mahi meal... oh my goodness, it makes being on a diet enjoyable. I have never had a bad meal here. The negative reviews I hear are usually from people who are not crazy about local food or have had a better experience from another popular local food place. But come on guys, this is take out. You don't go to McDonald's and expect a 5 star meal.

I'm a fan of L&L, however, this L&L deceives the public. When you order Mahi Mahi, you get Basa instead! Nasty, nasty fish, not at all like the delicious Mahi Mahi from the deep Pacific! Even when confronted, workers first tried to act clueless about it, then came forth that it was Basa, but then didn't try to apologize or compensate in any way. Thoroughly disappointed! If I order and pay for Mahi Mahi, I expect to eat Mahi Mahi!

I had to buy dinner for fellow employees working during the hurricane on 8/8. I asked for 80 of the Hawaiian BBQ mix plate, but they said they didn't have enough ingredients - understandable since shipments were cut off to Hawaii because of the hurricane. So, I ordered 20 each of four different plates and they said they could accommodate me in 1 1/2 hours. Great!!! Then 30 minutes later, I got a call saying I need to pay first. Sure, no problem, but you should have told me when I placed the order. Then the owner on Oahu calls me and demands payment right away and assures me that they can complete the order in 1 hour and they already started cooking my order. Still happy, I rush over to pay and I almost reach Maui Market Place, the owner calls back and says I need to pay and I tell her I'm almost there and she tells me that they can't do it in one hour and that it will take at least three hours. By then, I'm pulling into the parking lot steaming mad and rush in to the food court and there are three young ladies, a cook and another guy just standing around. "I thought you guys were already cooking my order?" One of the ladies answered, "the owner said you have to pay first." The cook, who was apparently the manager on duty, just gave blank looks and kept looking at the ladies to say something. Needless to say, they lost about $900 dollars of business that night! Nothing bad to say about their food, just their service sucks big time!!!

Plate lunch heaven! Good food at a good price. The McDonalds of plate lunch joints in Hawaii. The combo plates are awesomely yummy. Lots of rice, macaroni salad and your choice of BBQ.

Food was the same as here in sf but appeared to have less food for your buck.

Slooooow service, but the food is pretty good. The locals were willing to wait for the food. This is located in the Kau Kau food court in Maui Marketplace. It seems to be always crowded and the AC is always way too strong.
