This is my favorite Yummy Korean BBQ location just because it's probably the cleanest one! They also always have all of the vegetables every time I come vs. the other ones... when some of the other locations run out of the vegetables, you're just out of luck for the rest of the day. The dining area is a nice size and never too packed. Like I said, it's nice and clean. The workers here are not friendly just like every other Yummy's but their food is the bomb so I will come back no matter what! Parking is never a problem here either since they share the parking lot/structure with Don Quijote and there's lots of parking.

Pretty happy with the bibimbap and the meat jun plate. But it's pricey compared to other Korean BBQ places I've been to. I always ask for the extra Korean chili paste for the bibimbap yummm.

I was bumped in line by too old ladies behind me arguing who will pay and they have not yet ordered.

This is a chain with many restaurants on island. This one is just as yummy, and their portions are a bit larger. No ambience, but friendly service and great prices! Convenient next to DQ grocery.

I love yummy's. Every time I'm home this is a must stop. I love the meat jun, it's my favorite. I also really like all the sides, I wish I could pick more than 4!

Great place to get your kalibi fix. Located at Don Quijote Kaheka. Lots of parking and other food choices as well. Yummy's BBQ is at the far right corner of Don Quijote store entrance. Love coming here, service is pretty quick. The ladies could be a bit more engaged and friendlier with the customers...Smile! Food is always on point and lots of eating space if your coming alone or with a group of friends.

Happy and yummy! I enjoy this chain of Korean restaurants, both for portion size and quality of meats. Everything is always yummy as well! My favorite is the boneless and lean beef BBQ. The regular portion is served with two scoops of rice with four sides. There are generally about 20 choices for the sides. My favorites: corn, choi sum, kimchee, tofu, Mac salad, and potato salad. There are both healthy and fattening choices. This restaurant is located inside Don Quijote. The staff is usually nice, today was the most generous portion size I've ever experienced. They have tables to eat there and offer take out. It's a good value for the money, complete meals under $15. Eat here is your starving on your way to groceries!

Yummys is a great hole in the wall Korean bow spot. We got our food and took it to go and headed to the beach. Kalbi is pretty damn good and so is the Mac

Easily the WORST yummys ive ever been to. They managed to overcook and undercook different portions of my bi bim bap. Portion sizes were small (even the rice), and the flavor was not even on par with ither middle of the road korean bbq joints. They even managed to mess up the bean sprouts. How, I ask you??? Will not be returning.

I really like the food at other location so opted to try this location and grab a late lunch here. I probably should have grabbed an early lunch because they are insanely slow and by the time I got my food I was delirious and hangry. When I ordered there were 4 clients in front of me and it took 15 minutes!!!!!!!!!!! #firstworldproblems If the serving time would have been shorter they would have gotten a higher score BUT it is fast food. Maybe I'm still hangry?

Mini BBQ chicken with Mac salad and the green vegetable. I'm embarrassed to say after years and years I still don't know what exactly it is (kind of like baby honest broccoli), but trust me it's deliciously salty. That's my go-to order and although this is a chain and feels like one inside, it's an absolute must anytime I touch foot on this island. Pack it up and head over to Ala Moana Park and watch some of those yummy volleyball players while you eat your Yummy's. See what I did there?

This yummys location was yummy!! :). They gave us a lot of good for the combo plate, me and my boyfriend shared and was enough for both us! Fresh veggies always a plus and great food quality too! Will probably be back for more next week sometime, it's a good location right near Don Quixote!

Great place for some good food. I ordered the meat jun and bbq chicken combo with a bunch of the eggs on the side.. Everything was pretty good. Price is not bad for the amount of food they give. Service was ok too. Overall 4 stars because the food was good. The music that's being played in here right now is actually not bad too. Alicia keys, Lauryn hill, etc. lol. I would definitely recommend this place to friends, for a quick and convenient bite to eat.

Haven't been here in about 5 years, having my pick of the great Japanese bentos, Greek and Chinese kiosks nearby. But the strange fat person I was with that day wanted Korean. So it was Korean. Then after I ordered, he went and ordered some Viet from the nearby Ba-Le. Traitor. I was tired and sore. Almost cold. It was perfect soup day. Ordered up the mundoo kook soo which is mundoo and noodles combo in soup and waited while the dumpy doo I was with not only ordered his Viet food but chowed down half way through his plate before my soup was called up. I had asked if they made their own or was it frozen and the counter help was honest enough. Frozen. So I ordered my soup and not the extra fried mundoo plate I was going to share with my fat friend. Served nicely with the broth separate from the noodles and mundoo, it looked delicious but smelled only of garlic. The broth was pure hot water. I think it was the water the mundoo was boiled in and the mundoo had no flavor....except garlic. It was BAD. Every bite was like tasting hot water with a boiled egg in it. I am not exaggerating. I poured sauce all over it. It tasted like sauce in boiled water. I pretended I didn't want anything else but I had to stand up and order some Viet spring rolls. But by then, I had tried to enjoy half of the soup. I packed it up to go. To this day, I honestly don't know if I left it in a car, on a bench, in the fridge. But I cant find the fricken leftovers. So be it. Was meant to be.

Yummy Korean BBQ is located in the pseudo food court adjacent to Don Quijote. It shares an enclosed space with Bale, and also has a dine in section with tables and chairs for your "I'm hungry now" eating pleasure. I've tried a number of items on the menu here mainly bc the bf and I frequent Don Quijote and coincidentally tend to be hungry at the same time. Grocery shopping while hungry is a "no, no" unless you're okay w/ spending an additional $40+, eating with your eyes first and grabbing anything that looks good... Don Quijote sells "ready to eat" foods, but bc we are regulars. Change is good. Spicy Pork - it's nowhere near authentic or anything, but it's pretty tasty. It's comes drenched in sauce, so it's a good thing it comes with rice. Bi Bim Kook Soo - I know the food at this chain of restaurants is geared towards locals and "Americans," but this is taking it to another level. The noodles are like angel hair pasta or thin spaghetti noodles. (They claim to use "somen" noodles.) The flavor of the sauce isn't bad, but it lacks that Korean kick. And even when I order this dish "extra, extra spicy," it barely tingles my tongue. Bygones... Bi Bim Bap - decent, but ask for extra gochuchang. OR, you can do what I do and spice it up when you get home: make your own gochuchang and add a bit of Srirracha. The same trend goes for many of the other dishes I've tried -- lack of authenticity, but decent enough. However, the one thing I absolutely love at Yummy K-BBQ is their garlic potato salad. It's slightly sweet with just the right amount of garlic flavor. It's not quite JR's potato salad, but I like it just the same. :) yelp.com/biz/jrs-bar-b-q… The prices at the Yummy chain has definitely gone up within the past several years, but thats how it goes. (Afterall, this is Hawaii.) I'd much rather spend the money I'm spending at Yummy Korean BBQ on authentic Korean fare, but convenience often gets the best of me. I'd say, all in all, this place isn't bad. A-OK. Yelp 365 - #191/365

If not for Yummy Korean BBQ, my husband and I may have lived on soda and potato chips during our stay in Waikiki. After so many overpriced and completely inedible meals, we were very happy to find this place. We loved the kalbi, bbq chicken, bbq pork chop, chicken katsu, banh mi, and pad thai. And we just couldn't get enough of the glass noodles and marinated bean sprouts!

This is pretty authentic Korean fare for the most part. Yeah they have the mayo covered taters that looks more German than something from Asia. No matter, everything is good here! My immediate and extended family love this place. BF and I always come here on our triannual trips back home. The portions are hefty and one plate feeds my mom, dad and myself! So even though the price is $10, it is still inexpensive to us. Unless you're a linebacker, there is no way you can eat the whole plate yourself! I always have the meat jun and mandoo plate with varying veggies but I always have the potatoes in mayo. I love that they give 4 choices of sides. Please please come to LA or at least Diamond Bar where there is a huge Asian community with cheap land so we don't have to only savor this 3x a year!

Cost more than Pearl Bar B Q in Makiki. Yummys size of sides is also less then Pearl. Taste about the same.

I really like the food here in Yummy Korean BBQ. I can't finish a plate all by myself so I usually share with someone. I always order the Beef BBQ plate which comes with 2 scoops of rice and 4 sides. I really like the potato and macaroni salad because both are so creamy! I also like that the japchae is tasty. Kimchi is also good. I like this Yummy because compared to the one at Ala Moana, I don't feel like I'm being rushed when I order here. And also, I notice that the sides serving are more than what they give at Ala Moana. I ride TheBus coming here for a take out. From Waikiki, you can take the #2 bus going to Don Quijote. This is right beside the supermarket. I recently found out that there's a Yummy at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center Food Court. But the prices of their food there is more expensive compared to the this branch or the Ala Moana one. Last time I checked, it's more expensive by around at least $2. The sad thing about Yummy is that their prices always increase. A few months ago, maybe on June or July I bought food here. Then I came back this month and the prices increased by more than $1 for each food in the menu. The Beef BBQ that I love is more than $10 already. The serving is still the same though, it's still big.

This is the worst Yummy's I've ever been to. I specifically yelped Yummy's one night because I really wanted to eat their Korean vegetables with rice. I'm a sucker for kim chee and seaweed. I walked into Yummy's and waited while another gentleman ordered food for him and his wife. The cashier started to write his order on a take-out plate and the man asked that it be put on a regular dine in plate. The woman behind the counter told him that they close at 9 pm and that everyone has to leave so they can close. Uh, it was only 8:30 pm?! The man firmly told her to put his food on a regular plate and I almost went up and gave him a high five. As I waited for the cashier to fill up the man's plate with vegetables another worker walked by and started complaining that it was so late and she wanted to go home. I honestly wanted to grab her and throw her out the door and tell her she was fired for being a lazy complainer. I don't know about you but when I eat out I don't want to hear people complain about going home early from work. We all work really hard for our money and eat out because we want to treat ourselves to something "Yummy" to eat (pun intended). Is this what is happening to the American workforce? Have we become so complacent and lazy that we can openly complain in front of customers who are paying our bills? Great! It's all going to go down the drain because the workers at Yummy's want to close early! What happened to the American Dream?! What happened to just wanting to serve your customers?! On a side note, I barely ate any of my food because I was really irked by the whole ordeal and quite frankly just writing this review is making me upset all over again! Grrrrrrr...

This is one of the best yummys around. I sometimes go to other ones out of convenience and am always disappointed. The bbq chicken is always super tender and moist, full of flavor. I love the spicey pork also, but have to dock a star becuase rather than marinate it in gochujang sauce, they just use regular pork and dump sauce after. Its still pretty good, but it was better before when it had flavor and wasn't a soup. Their fish jun is quite flavorful and very fresh tasting, much better than a lot of places where it taste like a hard rock. The panchan is perfectly seasoned, not too salty, and their egg omelet puff is really quite fluffy. I hope they stay consistent for a long time!

I think over the years, pseudo Korean food has become a category of its own. Every once in a while I get a craving for Yummy's that won't be denied. It's like, you know how good a real burger can be, but sometimes you just want a double cheeseburger from McDonald's. The only thing is, you don't get McDonald's prices at Yummy's. You can expect to pay about $10-12 per plate with drink here. I either order the kalbi plate or the katsu plate. The kalbi plate comes with three pieces of flank cut kalbi, two scoops of rice, and four choices of sides. The katsu plate comes with two fried katsu pieces, two scoops of rice, and four sides. If you are a "lazy" eater - beware. They don't cut the chicken for you. Although it has little butterfly cuts along the outside of the chicken, you will need to use a fork and knife. Also, if you are a traditionalist when it comes to katsu, the sauce they give you is a gochujang based sauce, not the Japanese katsu sauce. My two favorite sides are the potato salad and longrice/japchae. Neither of these two sides are found in traditional Korean cooking (in that form). But they are sinfully good. The potato salad is cut into chunks, deep fried, then mixed with what tastes like garlic powder, onion powder, parsley flakes and gangload of mayonnaise. The longrice doesn't have any vegetables in it and seems to have been braised in a shoyu/sugar mixture for a while. The only things I would stay away from entirely here are the bibimguksu and the yookgaejang. All you can taste is the flour taste of the noodles in the bibimguksu. The yookgaejang is green onion city. After you take them out you have virtually nothing left.

It's definitely the smallest Yummys (and it shares its space with Bale) but the food is just fine to me. I've noticed that the prices have been going up while the portions stay the same, though. Not too nice, Yummys! The meat jun and delicious sides are what keep me coming back, and I'm thanking my lucky stars that I get the same great food every time I come back home. Especially because no one has meat jun on the mainland!

With the rising prices of Kalbi, you might as well eat it at a BBQ restaurant, and where else is better than going to Yummy's. Kalbi plate is like $11, gives you 4-piceces along with your choice of 4 veggies and 2 scoop of rice. Usually, the plate is big enough for two to share.

Yummy was the signature Korean BBQ take out place in Honolulu when I was living there. Always went to this particular Yummy location for food. I remember the large portions, fresh and tasty sides, and great tasting meat jun and the bim bim bap. I was not disappointed when I returned. The food is solid and tasty Korean BBQ take out. The sides were still plentiful and in good condition. I have noticed that Yummy is now sharing space with a Bale sandwich shop. All in all Yummy's remains a good choice for Korean take out. Not high caliber gourmet food but solid and well made. The place is clean. Parking is a pain as it is linked to the Don Quijote grocery with a small and cramped parking lot. If it is a busy time don't bother and use the lot across the street.

Fastfood Korean BBQ. Yummy's used to be my go to Korean BBQ plate spot. Lately, it's gone down hill. Potions have gotten smaller, quality has gotten worse, but prices have gone up. Do not get the fish jun. Used to be a favorite of mine, but it is VERY greasy now. Horrible. They changed the kim chee, too. Used to be decent, now it's a cheap store bought stuff. The manager behind the register will stare at the lady serving up your sides, and will tell her if she gives you too much sides. But still, for fast food Korean BBQ, it's not bad. Kal-bi, chicken and teri-beef is pretty good. But gone are the days of the three pound kal-bi plate. And for the price, you may consider going somewhere else.

Only Yummys that I went to during my vacation in Honolulu - but definitely wonderful. My meal must have been 4 pounds for $10. I love meat, freshly grilled meat at that. So many options, cooked right there, and with all the banchan (appetizers/side) dishes - how can you NOT be happy? Yummm charred taste, love it. It's in a food court area near a giant food market., sub $10 prices...comeon people... what do you have to really complain about? hey - I was a happy camper, and if I went back, I'd definitely get it again :)

So I have a bone to pick with these guys. But first, the lowdown. This is the Yummy's that my GF and I go to when we're lazy and craving meat. Yes, you can go anywhere for meat, but here you get meat with little rib bones that when slightly charred taste oh so...like their name sake. Also, the soup that I can't pronounce or spell is pretty good too. It's as if they put kim chee in water and added shredded beef. It's a spicy concoction that will make you hot and sweaty (that's sexy alright). It's decent korean at a decent price. Anyways, everytime my GF goes there to pick up she ends up with an extra piece of scrambled egg and sometimes an extra piece of Kalbi. Now, when I go there I get the perfectly scooped (to where there's no excess) mac salad, one container of hot sauce when it's apparently obvious that I've ordered for more than just one person, never extra anything (except maybe some attitude haha). But really, could it hurt to hook a brother up once in a while? All I want is equality in the charity. But for now I'll settle in partaking in the spoils.

i wish they had yummy bbq in the bay area! we really enjoyed having lunch here during our vacation on the island. its a chain store, so you'll see plenty of these restaurants around. i got the spare ribs, they serve with a variety of side dishes you can choose from ala panda express style. price was pretty good too for hawaii standards. i'm not sure why alot of ppl are hating on this place, its fast food, you get what you pay for, the meal is under 10 bucks. for that kinda money, i think the spare ribs are pretty good. if you want steamy hot and juicy spare ribs, you'll probably have to pay 18 to 20 bux. for a 10 dollar lunch, this place will do the job for you guys if you want a quick lunch...also the portions are large, so if your not too hungry, the combo's could be shared by two ;)

I've been to this Yummy location once and that was enough for me. When we walked in, my husband and i stood away from the counter while we figured out what we were going to order and when we were ready, we approached the cash register area. The lady behind the counter never looked up at us and continued to 'stir' the food around...maybe to get the coagulated stuff down to the bottom. Eventually, she 'accidentally' made eye contact with us and asked if we were ready to order. We placed our orders and paid her. She set our food containers down and called our order into the kitchen in the back. Then she went back to stirring things again. Hubby and I went to sit down, but the lady called us back to choose our side dishes. This location doesn't have as good of a selection of sides as the Yummy in I.M.P. so we had to double up on some of our selections. Once our order was ready we brought it back to our hotel to eat. Everything ( and i mean EVERYTHING) tasted strangely sweet. The potatoes were sweet, the chicken was sweet, the beef was sweet, the long rice was...sweet! It was like eating dinner food that tasted like dessert. Neither one of us made a dent in our meals because we couldn't get past the taste. No bueno! I thought this place was called Yummy for a reason, but apparently I was wrong.

This is the Yummy's in the Don Quijote building. I can't say if it's better or worse than any other Yummy's, but I like it just fine. I usually get the BBQ pork plate with the usual 2 scoops of rice (brown) and usual 4 sides of pickled veggies and whatnot. The eating area is reasonably clean for fast food, and I've always walked away satisfied and never had any stomach rot. The chicken katsu was pretty good too. Since you're at DQ (not the dairy one), bathrooms are nearby which is a rarity in this state for some reason and thus worth noting. You can also eat outside at DQ's little food court area.

Nothing to write home about but the portions will knock your socks off. You get 2 scoops of rice and 4 choice of banchan (side dishes) along with your meat choice. It's quite a lot. The meat is too greasy and the banchan tastes a bit too bland but when you are hungry and on a budget, come here and get your grub on.

Their prices have doubled in the past 6 years! A bbq chicken plate used to be $5.95 now it is over $10.00!
