The sweet-and-sour spare ribs plate lunch (a Monday special) from Tommy's are to die for. I have to repeat that--to die for. Maybe it's the way the spare ribs are just about to fall apart. Or how even the cartilage has been melted into a soft gelatin. Or the mac salad, which serves as a great counterpoint. In any case, the owner's love for cooking great food comes through. I haven't been back to the Island in over a year, but I still dream about my next plate lunch from here. By the way, the swordfish is great, too. However, all of the choices are first-come first-served, so hustle down there if you want any of the specials.

A nice little stand in a pretty good location. It's located at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Building near the Pensacola street parking entry. They have been here for little over a year. There used to be another vendor here a few years ago. They have alot of different type of sandwiches, drinks, coffee, etc. I ordered a Tuna Melt and it was ono. The young lady that works here is cool and friendly. If you're ever in the area, I suggest you give this place a try. ps. They accept credit cards too

Gokujo Sushi

1020 Auahi St

Reviews:
Although Im not crazy about take out sushi, In my experience, Gokujo has actually the best sushi for any retail "take out." Marukai itself has a big time bird problem with pigeons flying around in store, Gokujo is definitely better then kozo, aloha, ninja and genki etc.. For the price point (cheap), I have a very difficult time complaining of quality with Gokujo. However, if I were to go to a traditional sushi restaurant that charges $7 to $35 per order (2 pcs) of nigiri sushi, I would then expect the world! Morimoto for example, falls very short in this respect. Their o-toro was cut razor thin and was discolored on the edges. Their kani king crab nigiri tasted like it had freezer burn and they didnt pick out the cartilage. Those were about $7 per one piece! People say "you gotta be fair, give them at least a month to settle." Hey I dont care if they "just opened," if you have the balls to open your doors and charge FULL price, then give me full quality. I'd expect only the best, especially from an "Iron Chef." My bill was over $500 for 3 people, no liquor and a 30 min wait for entrees with the place half empty. I think sushi in general is completely overrated. I think I'm just gonna eat Zippy's!

iDcard

1050 Ala Moana Blvd,Ste 2500
Honolulu, 96814
Reviews:
I have had an ID card now for 3 years and I love it. We eat out a lot so this is one easy way to cut our cost of living. I made my money back in no time, and knowing I could save a little trying new places made it easier to try them. I love the ID card so much I recommended it for a fundraiser - and it was very successful! Working with Shawn, Anita and Randy was no effort at all - everything was so simple and the incentive is built right in! My advice to you if you're thinking of picking a card up is - DO IT! If you want a little discount on the price find an organization that's running the fundraiser and help them out. Then stick that card in your wallet, register your email address, and live large!
Shawn is AWESOME! The end. Well not really the end. The iDcard is pretty frickin' awesome as well. I think I got my first iDcard in 2012 through a fundraiser with one of my nursing classmates. I loved it then, and still love it. You buy the iDcard for $30 or $20 (depending who/where you're purchasing it from) but either way it pays for itself with all the money you save. It gave me an opportunity to try new restaurants and ones that I've never been. Now I continue visiting those places since the discount is so great! I think it's great that the card is now valid for one year from the day you redeem it, and no longer the calendar year. So, I met Shawn personally when my organization wanted to fundraise with the iDcard. Card would sell for $30. The breakdown was $16 to iDcard and $14 to our group for each card sold. I thought that was a pretty sweet deal. But, my group wasn't very good at selling it. My guess was mainly because they couldn't benefit from the card themselves (this is a group of older Filipino ladies who like to party but don't go "out" much) so convincing someone else to buy it from them was probably too hard. I should have figured that out before going through with it, but I loved the card enough to try! We didn't do too hot, especially since someone in the circle was fundraising with the Entertainment Booklet for one of their kids, and around the same time! Grrrr. Well, I know this card appeals well to the younger generations so I was able to get around. But, I still ended up with returned vouchers from those who were unable to sell. Shawn was super cool about it and I was able to return whatever I was not able to sell. He even made the trip to meet up with me for the exchange which was convenient. Just make sure you fulfill your end of the deal and don't hoard vouchers that were unsold or you'll end up with problems. These new voucher things have expiration dates to which you need to redeem your card by! Thanks again to Shawn for handling my issues with that in a SUPER COOL way. I swear this guy is generous. Anyways, I was able to get my friends into the iDcard by helping pay for lunch/dinner or whatever's since some discounts can apply to more than 1 person! To be honest, it's a necessity and I feel that it could appeal to these older Filipino ladies in my group if I just better convince them of what they can get out of it. I'm obviously not the best sales person. Maybe I could take some of them out to dinner and use the card so they could see the magic happen. Seriously though, any Filipino would LOVE to save money! This card definitely helps! You need it in your life. The end.
I must preface this review by saying that the actual iDcard itself is wonderful. I enjoyed discounts at many locations for several months and told everyone I knew about it. However, the CEO of iDcard changed my positive view of the company, which is why I cannot recommend my support for his business. The owner of the company enjoys doing online competitions for prizes. I participated in several of these contests and received some great prizes as a result. Therefore, I was very confused when he refused to honor one of my prizes: a meal with a friend to a nice Honolulu restaurant, citing a falling-out with his former web designer, an event that had absolutely nothing to do with me or the redemption of the prize. Our exchange ended with the phrase, "Let it go. You have received plenty from me. Unreal." (This is a direct quote from our online conversation on Facebook, during which I simply and respectfully tried to find out why this event meant that I was no longer eligible for my prize.) I shared my negative experience on Facebook, which is when the owner became extremely hostile, even reporting the post to Facebook, even though there was nothing in the post that violated the Facebook Community Guidelines. The owner wrote in the public comments on the original posting that he no longer wished to have my support for his business and that I should never purchase an iDcard in the future. (I can assure him that this will not be a problem.) I would like to share my Facebook posting here, minus the image of the original conversation that I had with the owner, as he used profanity during the conversation: __________________________________________________________ I am sad to say that I will no longer be an iDcard supporter. Some of you may remember that you "liked" my status in a contest a few months ago in order to win a meal with a friend. I contacted [the CEO] about the prize upon returning from my summer trip and was met with unnecessary personal hostility, as you can see in the image of the exchange. [Image not posted here, but see the quote above.] I'm disappointed that [the owner] allowed his personal feelings about someone who has nothing to do with me get in the way of being respectful to a loyal business supporter who has always praised and tried to support iDcard. It's not about the prize at all, which I no longer care to receive. I hope he realizes that his comments were completely uncalled for and there was no need to respond to me in this way. I am thankful for all of the prizes I have received from iDcard in the past, as [the owner] has always been very generous and kind prior to this exchange, making his hostility even more confusing. The motto of "staying cheap" should never come at the expense or respect of others. I'm sure [the owner] will block me on his personal page and write a rebuttal, which he may certainly make the choice to do, but I wanted to make this public since many of you have become supporters of iDcard through me. ___________________________________________________________ I hope that the owner learns to treat his future customers with respect and that no one ever has to face the rudeness and hostility that I did. As I previously mentioned, I have enjoyed the actual iDcard itself, but I cannot support a business with such an unprofessional and unethical CEO.

What nice surprise. For a semi fast food restaurant the food is impressive. We tried the Chicken Parmesan which was very good. Being married to an Italian isn't easy when it comes to trying new places. For a quick nice lunch , large portion and good quality Catania is pretty hard to beat. Service is quick and with a smile.
Same owner as the other location on Bishop Street. The original woman is running this location. This location has been open since February 2014. I ordered the special if the day which was the chicken carpacio over spaghetti noodles. I give this a 5 star has the sauce can taste the butter and white wine. My mom ordered the pea salad. This is my mom's s t and are salad to order at the other location. My mom said it tasted different this time. I did notice the Pepsi did taste a little flat. All in all, the service is still great and I would definitely return. Oh, and they have a pass sign.
OMG the portions of their food are huge!! The first time I ate there, I got the penne & ricotta - the container used is the size of a regular plate lunch plate without the dividers. I must have only eaten a fourth of it and decided I'd eat the rest for dinner with my BF that night. It doesn't come with meat, and he needs meat, so I just fried up some spicy Portuguese sausage and threw it in ... perfection! It was still too much for the both of us. I've also gotten the "mini" salad which is far from mini - you get to choose two of the six or so choices they have that day and they load it on! Like so much, that it's kind of scary to open the container because the food might fall out! I've gotten the salad twice and both times got the curry chicken and pea salad ~ so tasty!! I saw someone getting a large sized salad and it seemed the employee was just scooping on every salad choice they had! I asked him how many choices the large came with and he said at least four...not sure if it's extra for more than four though. I've only seen two people working, and since it's fairly new - it is kind of busy at peak lunch hours, but they're pretty fast. The garlic bread is just OK - it's pretty thick and the flavor is not all over, so I only got it once.

Due to great reviews I decided to try it out! I am already thinking of my next trip here and what to order. I ordered the powerhouse and field of dreams and they did not disappoint. The only downfall is the parking. Had to find parking somewhere but the quality of food and service was worth it!! Thanks so much I'll see you again. Aloha!!
I have nothing but great things to say about this place. Friendly staff and happy faces. Delicious pizza and juices. I always know its a great food joint when owners and staff make an effort to remember customers names. The pizza is delicious. I'm not a huge fan of hummus but that hummus pizza with pears was super duper good. And the juice was a boost of energy. Definitely a new hot spot in Downtown.
Would be 5 stars if it was slightly cheaper. The overhead of such a great location is probably to blame for the inflated prices. That being said, I happily pay up, the service and fresh juices are phenomenal.

Tucked in the middle of the Outrigger Waikiki on the street level, Pai's Deli is a great find for cheap eats in Waikiki. Great sandwiches, smoothies, fruits, drinks at reasonable prices. Coffee is still $1.25! Grab a sandwich and hit the beach! To find Pai's walk toward the entrance to Duke's and turn Ewa.
Hidden gem near beach, fresh fruit smoothies, excellent avocado sandwich with plenty of veggies, great prices for Waikiki beach
I would highly recommend the chicken avocado sandwich & mango milkshake! The service is very good, and the food is delicious and reasonably priced! 5 stars!!!!!

Thang’s French Coffee & Bubble Tea

Some people need coffee. Some need tea. Others may need some kind of soda or energy drink to feel reinvigorated. I haven't quite mastered the coffee taste buds just yet and tea is always a welcome treat but I seem to need something more. Since I discovered bubble drinks, I've discovered fresh fruit bubble drinks and have come to rely on them to reenergize both my mind and body after a long day of hard work. Thang's II has become my perfect pick me up. Find a good variety of the freshest fruit bubble drink smoothies at a very reasonabe price sold here. Add huge, chewy tapioca bubbles for a fantastic optional treat for a $4 drink total. When I first began coming here, I set out to try every flavor. So far I've tried lychee, avocado, watermelon, papaya, honeydew melon, papaya, papaya, papaya, papaya, and hey, did I say.. um, "papaya"? hehe Whoops, guess I got a little more than stuck on...papaya, huh? = ) You may not like papaya as much as I do but don't be too surprised if you should happen to order the same fruit drink over and over. I am finding that no matter which flavor I select, I am sure to receive something cold, refreshing, thick, fresh, and delicious! First heard about this delight thru fellow Yeeps, Tanya A., Dave F., Nick E., & Jarod H., and so glad I finally gave it a try. Kudos to these bubble drink expert Yeeps - my tummy thanks you! :)
This review is a little premature because I've only tried the lychee boba. It was the only thing in the case that was not fresh but I love lychee. Boba was very soft but it was consistently soft. I'm not sure how I feel about the very soft boba yet. Aside from that, the lychee was good and I love the clean seating area. I also like all the plastic plants on decorating the ceiling. The biggest challenge here was the parking. I ended up using metered parking Kohou street. I'll have to try the real fresh fruit next time.
Let me just start by saying that I am absolutely obsessed with their boba. I work nearby and despite the fact that they're cash only, I always try to find time to come here (stopping by the atm beforehand of course.) They use the freshest fruits I've ever seen and it's no joke because they have the most perfectly cut and sliced fruits displayed in their glass refrigerator. I swear the first time I saw it I thought they were fake. Taste-wise, I've found them to be totally on point too. Not too sweet, not too sour, but just right. My favorites so far are the honeydew and the watermelon, but they even have weirder fruits too like papaya and avocado and a whole bunch of things that I'm sure someone would wanna try. Overall 5/5, would recommend :)
