Food is average and expensive but the 1 star is for service, or lack there of. Tired to call in a phone order at 6:45pm and person only said "we don't take phone orders at this time as we going to close at 7". I told her someone was already driving there and would be there in 5 minutes but she just gave me the same answer. Then I asked if we drove in at 6:55 would they take our order, as I didn't want my wife to get rejected at the door. At first she just said the same thing but I repeated my question, slowwwly so she could understand, if we walked into the restaurant at 6:55 would they take our order, she said yes. How does that make sense? Not only is it a stupid policy I've never encountered before but she was very rude, not a good combination. These people need to learn some customer service. Boycotting this place!

Good food, not too long of a wait. Price was normal. The staff member did a fine job handling an annoying indecisive and inconsiderate customer ahead of us Good job

This is a place I used to come to in Koko Marina in Hawaii Kai when I used to visit my dad in the early 90's. It's still there, directly across from the Koko Marina movie theatres, and just behind the long-standing bikini store (another favorite). Under recent new ownership, me and the family stopped in a few weeks ago after several days of camping food at Bellows Beach Park. The young man behind the counter was great with his service and pleasantries, and the food came out piping hot. I've always enjoyed Yummy's 'watered down' Korean food, and the price is right. The view from inside looking out the windows is of the boat harbor...very pretty. The only downside is there are so few tables on the inside. Otherwise, this Yummy's is always on my list of places to eat and relax.

You know I was a little hesitant because it's reviews but as far as Korean barbecue goes this place is not too bad and it has an absolute perfect location on the marina.

Love everything from here food is fast and freshly made great sides people how give low stars must be high brow people my favorite place for lunch and also few steps away from getting a lychee with tap pearls

Quantity and not quality. The food here is smothered in MSG. Don't come here expecting great food; just filler.

Hands down the worst yummy's I've ever had, and the most expensive to boot. $10 for a mini plate. The vegetables weren't good and the meat jun sauce was just shoyu.

I rarely write reviews on Yelp. It's even rarer for me to write something negative on Yelp, but I was compelled with the garbage they passed off as food to me today. I've never had prison food, but I would imagine this is what it tastes like. Ordered the tofu soup. It was colored hot water. No flavor whatsoever. First time I could see the bottom of a bowl of tofu chige when it was still full (it was that clear). To make matters worse, it was pricey at $12. Ate about 1/10th of it and threw it away. They better be careful about serving any actual Koreans, because any self-respecting one may feel compelled to punch the cook in the mouth for insulting their heritage. Stay far away from this Yummy's.

    Great food, and great spot

The staff could be a tad friendlier, smile! But the food was pretty good for a fast food joint. I got the Kalbi beef and Jap Chai noodles. YUM!

Today they ran out of Mac salad'potato salad they ran out of long rice I was really disappointed with yummy Korean this evening. They need to prepare enough food to last until the restaurant closes.

I usually LOVE all the Yummy's locations, but there's something about this one. It depends on who is cooking as to what the food will be. The counter help isn't always that nice. And as much as I enjoy fresh food, I don't like to see it sitting out on the sidewalk before it gets cooked. And I don't mean in cartons or crates just being delivered. I mean vegetables literally piled on the sidewalk. I had to walk away even though I was hungry for Yummy's.

The #10 was delicious! Had kimchi and noodles on the side and it was pretty good. I would get the #10 again if i ever go back. Place was tiny and there was hardly anywhere to sit.

Worst Yummys in Hawaii. If I could give zero stars I would. About two years ago, ownership of the franchise change. It went down hill from then. Went there last night and ordered fish jun. It was nothing but batter, well it seemed that way. Food quality (taste) is terrible. The jun sauce taste like shoyu with little vinegar. The long rice is just that, ONLY LONG RICE. Price has gone up. Quantity of portions gone down. Lastly the unfriendly counter help. This will be the last time I go to Yummys in Hawaii Kai. My advice? Save your money. Too bad there's not another Korean Fast Food Restaurant in Hawaii Kai.

Gave them 4 stars because the food was amazing but the lady taking our order was not very friendly. Ordered the BBQ beef plate and it was really good food.

Love all the Yummys! I usually order the bbq chicken and for the sides I'll get the kim chee, seaweed, the long rice or cabbage. Man! the sides are as good as the chicken! Every time I come Hawaii I come to at least one of the Yummys.

Just returned from buying $52 worth of vegetables for a dinner party (which took so long to receive this order that the party started without these vegetables). Four other orders came and went who came after me, the counter person said they ran out of choy sum and could I wait another five minutes, rather than informing me 20 minutes before that they had to cook another batch to fill my order. I was so livid at waiting so long that I asked for a substitute so I could get out of there. Even before that I just wanted to be helpful and said their phone went to fax answer, meaning I could have ordered earlier, she informed me that they use the phone line for processing charge cards, another customer agreed he couldn't get in to place his order. Not a great experience.

Not the same quality you'd expect from a Yummy's from 20 years ago. Sad because I met the owner who stared the franchise and is a real nice lady. But this branch had a horrible, condescending and rude girl at the counter and the food portion was too small especially for the near 13 dollar price for fishjun...

Had the bar b que chicken, was pretty good. Price is a little steep although you get very large portions so might wanna share with another person. Chicken was made on the order which was nice, pretty fresh from what I tasted. View is beautiful from the marina

DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS LOCATION!!!!! Came here the other night because me and a coworker where starving but we didn't want to eat to much due to we where eating dinner in a 2 hours. So, I called to place a phone order and asked what the mini kalbi plate included the lady who answered informed me that the mini kalbi included "2 sides, 1 scoop of rice and 2 pieces of kalbi" for $9. So, we went ahead and ordered a mini kalbi plate. When I walked in to do my order, the cashier was so unorganized and so slow at taking everyone and giving everyone order including mines! When I finally received my plate after waiting for almost 20 minutes! The kalbi was literally 1 piece of kalbi cut in half! We only got 2 small piece of kalbi bone each! And the kim chee we ordered for our side tasted spoiled and had no flavor! I mean for $9 I expected better! This place has bad service, poor quality of food and NOT NOT worth it at all. The biggest mistake me and my coworker ever made!...I guess it's a lesson learned!

This is normally my regular place for quick Korean craving while in town. It seems that changed the ownership or different cook. The flavor slightly changed....price goes up big portion even the side were not as good like it used to but its still good.

I bought lunch for the guy's here last week and it smelled so good that I grabbed dinner here yesterday for the family .... kal bi / meat jun combo & a beef curry plate ... tried the mac salad, kim chee, tofu, shoyu potatoes, spicy daikon, & long rice for the sides - the kal bi and the bbq meat for the curry ( sauce packed seperately) was pretty good - everything else was just so so - but hey it is a Korean place not a curry house right ? On the plus side ....both times the service was really good & the view of the marina is great to enjoy while you wait. note: they have a ATM inside the shop and a self serve shoyu, meat jun sauce area.

People are trippin. This yummy's is yummy. You just have to know what to expect. This isn't gourmet Korean food...and one could argue it's not even Korean food. It's more like Korean/Hawaiian plate lunch food. But that's what I love about it. The Meat Jun specifically is so damn hearty and comforting. Imagine strips of bulgogi meat dipped in egg batter and fried to perfection. This is not a typical Korean dish, but my mom does make something similar (where she rolls ground beef into balls and fries them in egg batter). I love this place in H. Kai because it's one of the few joints that is relatively cheap, and the portions are huge. They give you a choice of four banchan (side veggie dishes) and I asked for extra Kimchi and the auntie obliged. The location is awesome too...you can take the food to go and sit along the pier. How nice is that? Can't complain. It's not a fancy place... it's essentially Korean/local fast food. But for what it's worth - 4 stars.

::Spicy Pork & Beef Combo:: Tasty! Not amazing, but tasty! Spicy enough to make me happy, and plenty of meat to make it worth the 9 bucks. ::Sides:: You get 4 with your combo... not bad! Plenty to choose from and all are quite good. ::Staff:: Super friendly. ::Overall:: For fast food Korean, this is pretty good... which is probably why you can find so many YKBBQ's on the island. I like that they make your order when you order it! Lots of places are happy to cook the meat and let it sit around... not here! Nice.

well, the wife bought us two plates...spicy chicken and bbq chicken...how awful...it gets more expensive and now the chicken is cut up into small pieces...and oh so few... the long rice that I long favored has been redone and taste NOTHING like before...the cabbage kim chee now taste much of ginger---since when? the shoyu potato (they only give two SMALL pieces!) - changed in taste, not as flavorful as before... Boy, I have to tell you again..this place is just going down the pits...the bbq chicken didn't taste fresh...like it was sitting dry somewhere for a few hours...not moist! Find somewhere else to eat Korean food---but where in HI-KAI???

  • Glenn N.

Value-wise it is very hard to beat this Korean establishment. The combo is fantastic. Only wish I could create my own selection for the combo. Meat jun, BBQ chx and fish jun is my dream combo but no can,.....

Tucked away by the marina, accepts cash only. Food was too sweet for my taste and gave my husband bad gas. To top it all off, the "mini" plate was very...mini.

why oh why do i torture myself by thinking one day this one will be up to par with other yummys,,, i really don't expect to much from them,,,, but bbq chicken that would bounce if thrown against the wall,,, come on,,,, in their defence the bibimkooksoo is usually pretty good, having said that, i keep trying the kalbi/ bbq chicken combo,,,, i should really at this point, just get my fingernails pulled out or shoot myself in the foot,,,, dayum,, got screwed again. ps i promise to never darken the doorstep of the kokomarina yummys again, SOMEONE,,,, PLEASE OPEN A DECENT (tasty would be even better) PLATE LUNCH PLACE IN HAWAII KAI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (i can't keep eating taco del mar 7 days a week)

3+ stars Not bad for fast food Korean. Prices a bit on the high side but the portions are on the big side. The service was fine, after all this is a counter not a sit down place, so my expectations were in place. I ordered a vegetarian Bibimbap (replacing meat for tofu) and there was no issue with the substitution and the amount of tofu was huge.

    (4)
  • Jimbos B.

Cheap fastfood. Keep in mind they have very BIG portions. So, you may want to adjust your order accordingly. Not sure if I'd come back here. But, it was ok.

  • Colin T.

Don't think I'll eat here again. The food was terrible, and I'm pretty sure I know why. We ordered the fish jun, meat jun, bbq chicken and bbq beef. Two minutes later our food was ready. That tells me you're not back there cooking my food, you're heating it up. The chicken was dry and your meat jun looks like beef jerky covered with egg. And the sauce, it tasted like shoyu with extra salt added or something. This is a little harsh, but I would be embarrassed to serve their food. CASH ONLY.

This place is the stingiest of All Korean BBQs, the portions are so small and the banchan is givenlike the server gets to take home the left overs. Every Yummy's or Pearls I ever gone to just pile on the food, think that's a company tradition but this place WOW, at a loss for words, I even added them to the Yelp list cause I wanted to see what others had written but it wasn't on the list, so lets hope others write their views, maybe it was just my experience, curious to hear what others have to say, hope they improve as it's the only Korean food place on that side, or maybe that's why they don't improve.

Delicious, consistent food. We've been coming here for years. BUT. I have an ongoing beef with the management for not ringing up orders (basically evading taxes). On multiple occasions, I have gone to pay at the register and not received any receipt, and seen that the lady ringing up the order was punching in $0.00. Sketchballs. Eat here, but always get a receipt.

Very rude elderly woman at the front; most likely the owner. Very stingy with the sides. Didn't take debit card but ATM was conveniently in their store to take $2 service charge. Did not say when food was ready, just left it by the window. Meat was overcooked and sides were over salted. Will NOT be going there again. Would rather drive to Gina's BBQ on Kapiolani Blvd. They're friendlier and their food is fresher with larger portions.

I love meat jun. I love meat jun. I love meat jun. I also think the ladies working there are very sweet and the view is so relaxing. The mini plate is gigantic and I could barely finish it. Their chap chae had no flavor but everything else was pretty damn good.

Been coming here my entire life since they opened when I was a kid. The owner is nice and if you tell her you want something a certain way, she makes sure you get what you want. I've gotten good service from them and I like their food. My favorite is the Meat Jun which I usually get. The Bi Bim Kook Soo is good as well as the Bi Bim Bap. I don't doubt that other people have had ups and downs in their experiences at this Yummy but I like it there.

Mmmm yummy's. You can't find a better korean lunch plate than here. And you get so much food. I usually get the bbq chicken or the short ribs. But honestly everything is good. Plus tey have really tasty sies. usually go for the rice and mac salad, and then the hot green vegetables. They always have this yummy spicy pickle relish too. It looks weird but is worth it every time. I love buying a plate and eating it on one of the benches next to the water.

Yummy Korean BBQ in Koko Marina Shopping Center....YOU DISAPPOINT ME. EVERYTHING tasted either watered down or not soaked enough. Even the mac salad tasted like water! One more thing: KALBI GET 3 BONES...NOT 2!! I got 2 pieces of kalbi with ONLY 2 BONES EACH!! NO CAN!! -__- The only good thing was the seaweed soup......after I added some shoyu. Xp

I cannot understand how people eat here. This is the worst plate lunch/Korean place I've ever eaten at. The vegetable sides are never fresh, the Mac salad is nasty, the portions are not worth the price and the service is dreadful. I used to work next door to this place so I gave it many chances based on the convenience of the location for me at the time. What a bad idea. I've never made Korean food before but I'm willing to bet my attempt would be better than theirs.
