With a tiny bit of searching, it wasn't hard to find the The Row Bar. An outdoor bar with 75" HD screens and a full bar, several excellent beers on taps. Best of all, Row Bar professes to be a Cigar Bar. They sell cigars and there are cigar clubs that meet to relax here. Anyone complains of this should not really visit. It's an open space establishment with a round bar that disperses the smoke efficiently. Serious. If you're offended, you shouldn't give a bad review for what this place is. It's a great spot for locals and they bring in local live music groups that are excellent. On the last Thursday of the month, they invite a local cigar retailer that sells in singles and case lots for smokers. Very amiable staff. The manager, John, is superb. He gave us super spots to dine where the locals dine. I strongly recommend The Row Bar

This was a nice surprise. I have to admit that I really hesitated coming here to eat but it worked out better than I expected. The bartender was extremely nice and the food was on point! I really enjoyed the experience!

Row bar! What can I say... This place is one of my favorite places to hang. It's friendly and the customer service is off the charts. Bri is amazing. Her coffee drinks and cocktails are epic! I have been to many places but this place takes the cake for customer service. LOVE THIS PLACE!!

I love Rowrow because the bartenders are really cool and on point! You can also smoke there. They have food and they play sports. The happy hour is solid and they sell cigars behind the bar. The vibes are always really good and live music every night....what more do you people want. Oh, you complain about the cigar smoke etc. Get over it. It's a bar. They also have coffee in the AMz! Great place and really unique. 5 stars betch!

I absolutely love the customer service from the ladies behind the bar ... Bri And Jo are always so pleasant - professional and they remember my order before I say a word. Thank you for the awesome conversation and attention to my drink needs ;-). I see them work a crowd and handle the customers with ease. The Row Bar is lucky to have these ladies. A loyal and regular customer!! "CK"

I have to give this place some credit for it's facelift. It fits the contemporary bar scene that is becoming more prominent these days. But aside from that... I wouldn't go back there! The place stinks of cigar and cigarette smoke, and to top it off IT'S ALOWED!!! What happened to the no smoking laws? Heck if a smoker can't smoke on a public park, but is allowed to smoke at a bar/eatery... I just don't understand the logic behind it?? The cigar and cigarette smoke was so offensive that I didn't care about finishing my drink! I wanted to leave ASAP!!! The ambience was nice, but way overshadowed by the offensive cigarette and cigar smoke!! No way am I patronizing that place anymore!!!

Friend and I wanted to have a drink at the bar table last week. My friend wanted to get order extra drink and took him several tries to get their attention while passing us. In addition, we even had keep calling the server/bartender passing us by to even get our check for our drinks since we had to go. Terrible customer service. Also, not a good place to hang since there are people smoking. Too bad this place is the closest to the office for cocktails/drink but never again to return.

AMBIANCE Row Bar is a cool spot to chill if you are in the midst of walking or waiting at Restaurant Row. Sometimes there's live music or sports playing. DRINKS The usual stash of alcohol. Nothing special. CUSTOMER SERVICE Turned off a few times: one of the bartenders would not accommodate switching the television channel to something our side of the bar wanted to watch; another time the bartender neglected to give me a cup of ice, she forgot about my side order. What happened to pleasing the customer? PARKING Parking lot has ample parking. If Row Bar does not validate, try to hit up another vendor. Otherwise, parking can be pricey. OVERSALL Nothing like Cheers where everybody knows your name. They don't really seem to care. Just a spot to peruse through if you have to kill time or in dire need of a drink while at Restaurant Row.

I've always passed by here before way back when I use to go to the M nightclub but never bothered to try it out til recently. It's an open air type of bar that sits in the middle of restaurant row. Happy hour is from 4pm - 7pm. It was on a Tuesday night so it didn't seem crowded when I met up with some business friends after work hours. Free validated parking in the structure. We ordered some beer that ran anywhere from $3-$6 and some happy hour food that were either $5 or $8 depending on what was listed on the menu provided. We ordered everything off of the $5 section which was the spicy ahi roll, california roll, calamari, and french fries. The sushi rolls weren't that great, it didn't taste fresh nor was it flavorful. I should just have stuck with the bar food since it was the only thing that tasted good. Seriously can't mess that up since it is a bar atmosphere. I think there's only 1 waitress that serve the whole premises so you may probably have to hunt them down if you want quicker service brought to you depending on how busy it gets there. It's a good place to hang and relax after work but if you want a place to talk stories, this place wouldn't be the best since there was live music going on that overtook our conversations the whole time. Its like we had to yell over each other to get a word in. This place is filled with cigar and cigarette smokers though which I wasn't really fond of since the table next to us was all smoking and it drifted to our area. I was shocked that they're even allowed to do that considering the laws that banned any type of smoking in restaurants. I guess they don't implement that law here. I suppose this place attracts more people who works in downtown that probably would want to just have a drink after work. The only reason I'd probably go back here is when I get invited here by other people, other than that I'd go elsewhere for happy hour.

On Monday nights you can find me chilling here listening to some great live music by one of my favorite bands The City Boys! They often have special guests come up and join them for a song or two and listening to them is like having an aural orgasm lol. Jacob & Cassie (the bartender & waitress) are also really great. Very friendly and on top of things. Order a dirty Bud Light and they'll know exactly what's in that drink. They sell cigars here and you can smoke them right at the bar (since it's open air) but please be considerate to your fellow bar goers! Also depending on where you sit you might get rained on (since it is open air) The Row bar also has a nice selection of whiskey, scotch, and cognac if you feel like sipping on something special. Plenty of free parking and clean restrooms in the building. Unfortunately no sushi specials on Monday but the burger, fries, and chicken wings are all awesome!

I have not been to the bar in years. And when I say bar, you can't go looking for the entrance to this place. Row Bar is the center bar at Restaurant Row. I had to come over here for a doctors appointment recently after a long day at work & needed a drink ASAP afterwards. 4 feet out the door & BAM, I was here. The bar is a square with seats all around and tvs showing various sporting events. There's almost always music playing, live if you're lucky! There's also some tables and chairs under umbrellas that surround the bar. Happy hour is 4-7 everyday and there are a ton of liquor, beer & wine options to chose from. Good whiskey selection and lots of beer. I liked the casual local vibe and thought it was perfect for an after work meet up. Future UYE maybe?! They have a food menu with a decent burger and some good salty and spicy items to pair with booze. When we had to go, I was quite sad. Definitely a great place to meet up for pregaming before an event. I'm surprised to say I had a great time here and will be back.

Especially love the barista, Bree! She is always attentive and goes above and beyond in serving us. Her special "Bree latte" is the best! The food is also surprisingly good! The tap water tho tastes a bit strange but with a lemon it is ok :)

Definitely not what you'd expect at all and that's part of why I love it. The Row Bar (at 500 Ala Moana Blvd.) is a landmark in the middle of Restaurant Row. This is an outdoor bar that is cigar and cigarette friendly, free wifi. However, if you want to avoid the smoke, at happy hour 4 - 7 pm Tuesday thru Friday the M Club is open as well (same happy hour menu!). The bar also serves, coffee, acai bowls (it's open at 7 am), hamburgers, pizza, sushi and more. The bar is owned and operated by the M Club right next door. Monday - Friday they have live music from 5 pm - 7 pm. I also love the fact that the validate parking (first 2.5 hours are free) and after 4pm validation is free thereafter. I also found the best way to keep up-to-date with information is to check out their Facebook page.

One Friday evening, Rachel and I were trying to find a place with a happy hour, and after searching through multiple happy hour apps, I found The Row Bar. I had no idea it was "that open bar in the middle of Waterfront Plaza in front of the M". that's what we always called it. I also had no idea that they had an awesome happy hour! We decided to check it out, and their happy hour prices are amazing. Drafts from 3-6 bucks, happy hour food, I was sold. I believe their happy hour is on weekdays from 3-pm. No late happy hour though. We ordered some garlic chicken and fries, which was made in the kitchen inside the M nightclub. No complaints with the food or drinks. However, if you're sensitive to smoke of any kind, I wouldn't recommend this bar for you. It's unique because it's an open-air bar, but they also allow smoking (and sell cigars!), and although I'm not a smoker, I do think the fact that they sell cigars and offer cigar/alcohol combinations is pretty cool. One complaint I have about this place is that they'll charge $1 for a glass of water "during nightclub hours". WTF IS THAT! It just so happened that The Row Bar is owned by the M Nightclub, so that part makes sense, but still, charging for water is pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience and I would definitely hit up that happy hour plenty more times. -JC

Talk about cigar central. I'm not sure if it is a regular thing, or it just so happen to be the day I was there. But it seemed like a lot of people come here because they can smoke cigars at the bar~! At first only one person was smoking a cigar. Then another group sat down and started smoking cigars. Then another and another! It got to the point where I was having a hard time breathing because of all the cigar smoke. I personally never tried a cigar, so maybe I'm missing something amazing. But just don't understand how they can breath all the cigar smoke in. Its worse then cigarette smoke!!! Maybe its time someone invents the "e-cigar". ;D Other then the cigar issue. Row bar is okay. Located in Restaurant Row by M Nightclub. The prices are okay and the serve food now too~!

Horrible service...every time I come it takes at least 15 mins to 30 mins to get service..yesterday I ordered food and ended up geting someone's else food that had been eaten and plated for them. I didn't notice it until I got home. I was completely grossed out and pissed. To say I am beyond over this place is an understatement. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

I think this place is highly underrated in that people don't seem to really value the beauty of this place. This place is one of the few bars that have outside seating with live music. The musicians are usually local Hawaiian singers or acoustic guitar kind of music, which I LOVE! Also, great amount of seating and there's validated parking. I seriously can't get over how wonderful it is to be able to drink a beer outside watching the sunset. It's one of the most relaxing things to do! The reason I deducted a star is due to their service. I always seem to be waiting a long time to, one place an order and two actually getting my order. If service was better I think I could definitely give this place 5 stars! Hopefully, next time I come I will enjoy better service.

  • Bee J.

I'd give it ZERO stars but they allow cigar smoking so they get two. I'm not a d*ck when it comes to service--I don't ask for people to dote on me. But is it too much to ask for common courtesy?? The waitresses here are horrible. And it wasn't on just one occassion and I'm not the only one either. I've spoken to several other people that have the same complaint about service. My most-recent trip to the Row Bar was solo to enjoy a cigar and a beer. I had to walk up to the bar for every beer after my first one. The waitress just refused to come to my table. There was a large group of guys drinking near me so at first I assumed it was because she was more interested in servicing the large group. But then I noticed that the guys sitting in that group kept getting up to order drinks from the bar just like me. The two waitresses on duty that night were hanging out at the well talking with the bartender and some friends. Unbelievable. If it wasn't for allowing cigar smoking, I wouldn't have gone back there again.

A good happy hour vibe. Nice people with drinks that are strong enough and cheap enough. Parking in validated. It's open air, outdoors in the middle of business space so it's got an odd mix clientele, but that mix of clothing and accent adds to the charm.

Great Drink Specials & Great Food & Great Live Music Especially come out on every Monday My Friends Band Never Disappoints. There band name is CityBoys. This is an open outside type of bar one of the fewest bars in Honolulu that you can probably smoke cigars and cigaretts at. I seen a guy smoking Hookah once which was really awesome lol They also sell cigars. Food is prepared at club M so that's also good. So come enjoy the live music.

Based on a visit yesterday (Wednesday), I can report that there is no Happy Hour food except on Thursdays. No Miller or Coors either. Lots of cigar smoke.... Nice TVs. Validated parking (trying to think of positive things...)

I love the open spaces at this Bar. They have great local music talent and have cigars you can sit back an relax with. I am a big fan of their Buffalo Wings and the service. I also like pointing out places with wifi, working from this office is my favorite day of the week. Scuba

Live music and $4 Guinness. I LOVE IT! Some of the bartenders can't pour a Guinness properly, but that's okay. I have another spot for that, but it cost double what Row Bar charges during happy hour. Burgers are awesome, and I just love it here. Perfect after-work spot.

I will not hesitate to admit that this was positively one of the best experiences I have ever had at a bar. The location is nice and shaded and there is a great selection of beverages and a decent menu that stretches the board of different types of meals. The bar top is marble and it is nicely shaded. The drinks were prompt and food came out quickly. The only thing that rivaled the great location, food and drinks was the incredible warmth of the bar tenders. One specifically that impressed with knowledge and just a great host was Bree. She was warm, articulate kind and genuine. This took my experience here from 0 to 60 and made my experience. She was very perfesional and very fun. Her partner at the time Jaime was also very good and it was obvious that there team work allows them to be on top of their job and social interaction. Please come to this resteraunt and see for yourself. I will highly reccomend people to eat and enjoy friendship and an unforgettable experience.

The idea of having a bar in the middle of a nightclub, restaurants, bars and shopping is genius. Love the way you can watch sport, while enjoying a nice cold beer and see the people around you or just to come and hang out with friends.

  • Daniel C.

It's a great spot to have a drink after work with friends. There are TV's to watch while waiting for them or you can have a good conversation with the bartenders. The parking is in Restaurant Row and they do validate so take your time and enjoy your drinks. You can also order food which is a nice plus. Seating is on the tables surrounding the bar or at the bar itself. Personally I like sitting at the bar because the bartenders are very nice and make great recommendations on drinks. The TV's are awesome because I can catch up on sports with Sports Center. It's convenient because you can hop on Ala Moana Blvd heading in either direction to head home after a few drinks and food.

One thing I learned about my Hawaii trip: Hawaii is NOT cigar friendly. You can not smoke on the lanai, you can't smoke at the park, and you can't smoke on the beach (there is a loop hole: smoke with you're feet in the ocean and you're not really on the "beach" anymore and can avoid getting fined), basically you can only smoke in the designated stinky alley way. BOO! Since a cigar is meant to be smoked leisurely, we asked around and found out that the Row Bar was the only place that tolerated cigars. You can still get fined, but the Row is located in the middle of the M and the police do not go out of their way to get out of their cars to patrol the area. Since I wanted to fulfill one of the fiancé's bucket list items I made sure we made every effort to make it out here. From the end of Waikiki to Restaurant Row, a taxi was about $22. When we get there, everyone was smoking a cigar. We sit down and order drinks and some edemame. Service was a little slow, but at that point we were glad to just be able to sit down and smoke some amazing cigars he brought from home. Luckily enough, a group of guys smoking turned out to be a cigar club. A guy named Dan walked over and chit chatted us up and gave us two free cigars. AT least the cigar smokers in Hawaii are friendly!! I'm glad the Row was accommodating.

Great place to watch football and have Pau Hana drinks with friends! Outstanding service from bartenders Jon & Jacob. The garlic chicken is a must have. Very crispy & juicy. The Ahi tower is always good too!

This is my first time here on a Friday. Since the bartenders are more interested in looking at their phones than working I hope they see this. I've had horrible service, waited about five minutes for a beer and then the bartender didn't know how to make a Tom Collins ( bar-tending 101). They don't interact with customers and stand around talking to each other. This is not a friendly atmosphere and I won't be leaving a tip (extremely rare for me). The only redeeming thing about this place is Mike who works Wednesday and Thursday nights. Edit: I asked for my check and after fifteen minutes, I flagged down my bartender and said I was trying to leave. She took this personally and argued with me that I never asked for my check (my drink had been empty for 25 minutes at this point). She rolled her eyes at me and walked away. No tip.

Great place for Sunday afternoons during football season... Love the bartenders and waiters here. Open even during hurricanes! Cheers folks!

This bar is going downhill fast. Service is subpar, went thirsty a few times by the lack of service. Given the wrong drink then was told it was right. Food order wasn't placed and when asked the "new" server said she didn't know our table number so she didn't place the good order. Lame excuse. Sorry bout it!

Good crowd on the weekends. Can actually smoke at this bar which is a huge plus. Sells cigars. Good selection of ultra premium liquors. Service is good. Hot dog stand right out side is plain highway robbery. $8 for a dog. Several groups show up to smoke cigars at reserved tables.

The Row Bar is my go-to place after work these days. The food is good and cheap and the drinks are strong. The servers are cute girls and the bartenders are hot guys. The guy they have playing live music lately is awesome. Only time I skip out on the Row is if it's rainy or cold, because it's all outdoor seating.

    (5)
  • Melissa D.

Worst service EVER. The waitress had the nerve to charge me for a Lava Flow that tasted like straight soap. When I asked for something else instead she said that I would still have to pay for it and gave me some sad story about how the drink comes out of her paycheck. I'm not RSVPing to your pity party, sister. I only paid for the sodas I ordered regardless of how much the bill was.

They allow cigar smoking after 5pm. Show up on a Thursday and you will be in good company.

    (4)
  • Alice N.

Slow waitress high prices. Only thing made it worthwhile was the company of friends that were there. Outdoors was hot and muggy and two guys were smoking stinky cigarettes. Yuck! And my other friend noticed those two left without paying their check. Crazy place! About $200 for 8 people outrageous.

Parking is awesome here; ample free after 8 or 9 pm? Before 8pm you need validation and Row Bar staff can validate you. I like coming here to hang out with friends (to those who smoke; you're allowed cigars and cigarette smoking since it's an outdoor bar) and there are lots of TVs (usually on sports channels). They've changed the menu a few times since I've been a customer and right now they have pretty good sushi, (I like the volcano roll and another roll with wasabi aoli something) they also have a few beers on tap and I like Guiness and its pretty tasty and cold here. I would've given a 5 star if there weren't cigar smoking and on some nights it gets pretty crowded like club nights (friday and saturday at the M). Having the outdoor bar is nice on Friday and Saturdays because if its too crowded inside the M, fear not, there's row bar right outside! I haven't quite down their business hours, however I know on wednesday they're open till 10pm? Thursday till midnight, and Friday, saturday they're open till 330am if I'm not mistaken. Customer service could be a little better, I think they could look around the WHOLE bar if they took the time to. John who is a bartender there is super friendly, and has great customer service and makes good drinks.

What's sad about this is the Row Bar used to be one of my favorite hang-out spots. I usually wouldn't let one bad experience damper several other good times, but that's the most disappointing about this experience. The fact is, I have patronized the Row Bar many times prior. My last night there was a nightmare. I was meeting three friends at the Row Bar. I frequent here so much that the waitress remembered us. She asked if our Micronesian friend was joining us because the last time he was there, I guess he only left her a dollar tip for $100 tab. First of all, I don't agree with tipping low but I didn't understand why she even brought this up. And if she hadn't brought that fact up, I wouldn't have noticed the intentional bad service she was providing us. I have tipped her very well EVERY time I've been there, so I didn't understand why she was taking his mistake out on us. I ordered a water, which took her about 15 minutes to bring out. She never even brought a pizza my friend ordered and asked if she should just cancel it. I spoke to the manager who was basically useless. He told us that maybe she was having a bad day. After complaining TWICE, he gave me a card for five free drinks, which I don't plan to use because I never plan on returning to the place. So I handed out the free drinks to people at my work and I mentioned the waitresses name and her attitude to all of them. What's sad is I have had good experiences with the Row Bar in the past, and this particular waitress was very good to me in the past, when I tipped well. But, she made herself look terrible by taking out my friend's mistake on us and disregarding the loyalty I have had to the establishment. The manager was the most unprofessional. I have complained one time prior to a manager at a restaurant, and he didn't make excuses for his employees and offered to resolve the matter with the customer. That's what someone with common sense would do. After all, the customers are how they make their money! Unprofessional service, probably not a place you want to frequent on a rainy day because it is outdoors and not worth the hassle.

I sometimes go here after work or during lunch. I really like their caprese pizza. It is delicious. The wings are pretty good too. The only thing that gets me about this place is that the service is kind of slow. Sometimes it just takes too long for the food to come out. This can be kind of bad when you have to get back to work at a certain time. The last time I went, their card reader appeared to malfunctioning, but instead of saying something right away, they waited a good ten or so minutes to tell me they would just keep my card until after work. I just gave them cash and wish they had just said something sooner. The food is good, so I will probably come back. I just hope they pick up the pace a little bit.

Row Bar @ the M... Still probably known as the cheapest Martini's in town. At $3.50 a piece, you cant go wrong! Decor is kinda stuck in the early 2000's, but I guess that's about to change. Service is kind of stuck in the early 2000's as well. A bit aloof, kinda slow... Bring a group of your friends and good times will surely roll! Nice little spot to let loose and relax over a few beers...or some Grey Goose. The more the merrier!

This place has the potential to become one of my favorites. Hopefully the new management will be able to create a somewhat casual but still classy atmosphere for the casual cigar enthusiast in me. The staff (although just guys for now) is friendly and helpful. Edit: You really need to hire GIRLS!

Great little spot if you're heading to restaurant row! Outside but sheltered, plenty of seating, fun and friendly. Smoking is okay (not that I do, anymore). This is our meeting spot before going to dinner and the after dinner cocktail spot as well. One thing - while most liquors are reasonably priced, the Jameson is NOT. After we ordered and drank a round of Jamie neats, we realized that they charge NINE DOLLARS for Jameson!! What??! Other than that, we're happy little campers at the Row Bar. :-)

Now called Bambu's. Draft offerings are great and the atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. It was spruced up a bit this past year so it sports some new asian benches with pillows and umbrellas. I like the natural breeze and the open air concept. It is ultra casual so I love this place when I just want to sit back and relax with the boyfriend. They have 4 tv's playing sports and news so it's even more chill. It would be a great place to catch a game. We also grab drinks here after work (430p), so it's a cheap place to come for pau hana. No food though... (only popcorn)

Went here for a few drinks before dinner at ruths chris. There was only one other customer besides us which seemed to be the bartenders friend. When we asked for another round of drinks the bartender was too busy eating his friend's food or on his phone. His name was Scott. I asked a second time for drinks and then watched him spit in my drink in plain sight. Needless to say we paid for the drinks we already had and refused those. The girl bartender before him was super nice though. I've been here lots of times so I was really disappointed by this.

While this place does not have food, (but free popcorn! and Im a sucker for popcorn) they have awesome drink specials all day. $3.50 martinis that are delicious and plentiful. I like the Lime, Pineapple and Pear. They also have $3 Miller Lite Drafts all day, plenty of tvs to watch sports and its never crowded. I like coming here after work to unwind by myself and enjoy a few drinks. Or bring some friends to booze up for cheap, and eat ridiculous amounts of free popcorn.

Sandwiched in the middle of downtown, you'll find this watering hole referred to as "The Row Bar" (which got it's name from the neighboring Restaurant Row) or as it's now called "Bambu." It's tucked out of the way, so if you don't already know about it, you're probably not going to find it anywhere else (besides Yelp of course!). Don't let that fool you though, it's unintentional isolation doesn't mean that it's not a place worth checking out. Any night of the week, The Row Bar makes a great place to grab some drinks pau hana, catch up with your ohana, or even meet up with a blind date (I've done it). On weekends, this place gets a little bit more busy since the nearby Oceans808 is a popular hot spot with the clubbing crowd. That makes it a gold mine spot to people watch and make some new drunken acquaintances, or just sit and sip on one of their cheap-but-amazing martinis. Oh, and did I mention they have a popcorn machine?

I work full time in down town and go to grad school so the fact that I can walk to the Row Bar/Bamboo Bar during work when Im feeling over whelmed grants it 4 stars instantly. The drinks are poured healthy, enough to keep me content though the fact that I have to be back in the office keeps me under control. I usually have a few shots of SoCo, the price is reasonable, honestly they could charge me double cause Im not about to be the guy that keeps alcohol in his desk lol. I also like the fact that they carry Ciroc most places dont, chilled ciroc is a great refreshing drink that dulls the senses enough to make co-workers almost tolerable and push school deadlines to the back of my head. Keep in mind that my rating is based solely on convenience being that I can walk here from work in about 5 minutes.

Awesome place to chill and have a drink after a long day. Parking is in the restaurant row parking structure. Service has always been attentive and friendly every time i go. Just a heads up, they do allow people to smoke at the bar.

I always order lychee martinis from here. They line the rim with li hing powder, too! Can't have just one. :) It's lip-smacking good! The bartender was okay. She seemed to be having a bad night personally because she was making a lot of racket, but she always had a genuine smile when she served us. That's my chill place when I'm not in the mood for a club. :)

Bartenders here are awesome. Definitely would come back here again. Better service than some fine dining restaurants I have been to. Food, while limited, was also surprisingly good as well.

What is up with the businesses in the row? For one Subway here for one does not toast their sandwiches... what up with that? anyhoo, I just moved into one of the buildings above restaurant Row and wanted to find a new morning watering hole. the closest Starbucks is about eight blocks away so instead of strapping on runners to my feet I walked down to "the Row Bar" now known as Bambu. what can I say... $2 got me an water flavored iced coffee (hot coffee poured over ice - I could tell cause the 2 ice cubes that were in the cup were almost melted by the time I took my first sip - and the liquid was still warm) and $1 for some sorta danish looking thing which was ok. yup. conclusion. Avoid the ice coffee, and if you don't mind a 1/4 mile walk, bike hike den id skip the spot and go fer something a little better.

Don't really feel like dressing up, going to some club, or to a busy bar to wait for 15 min. for your drink? Are you looking for a place to just chill, relax, enjoy the open breeze, watch the game, light up a cigarette while drinking, or buy your lady a $3.50 martini all day, all night, every day? Bambu Bar is the place. Cheaper drinks, breezy atmosphere, nice staff, not crowded, relaxed environment, and they have like 4 big screens to watch whatever game/fight is on. But say you want to go to a club/bar afterwards, Oceans is right next door. There's also a sushi restaurant, Roy's, and a steakhouse. I bought my wifey a martini, actually two of them, and I bought a couple of shots and soft drinks. I spent under $30, tips included. Cheapness!

They changed the name of this place to Bambu Bar and it had been recently renovated with new chairs, stools and tables. It was pretty much dead when I stopped by. My friend likes to smoke when he drinks so I recommended this place to him. There are several large screen TVs and a pop-corn machine. Other than that, pretty boring place. They did have Chimay beer though, so that is a plus on my scale. The bartender was nice. He seemed happy that people actaully showed up. I doubt if this place will last much longer, I think they need some advertising on TV or something. They also have a menu from the pasta place that you can order off. Overall, I guess the place is okay, but with some advertising, special events it may survive? They also validate parking.

En route to Oceans, we stopped to sample the martinis. The menu offers a nice selection for every pallet from fruity flavored (orange, lemon, lychee, watermelon) to the standards (cosmo, dirty, etc). And a good number of them were on the $3.50 list. With great friends, cool breezes & relaxing ambiance, there was much fun to be had!

Finally, a bar where you can eat a plate lunch or a cup cake, which was bought from elsewhere, and be able to sit down to a refreshing Mai Tai or some feel-good elixir. I just wish their tropical "umbrella-classic" drinks were tastier.

This was a good bar. I used to meet so many wahines coming and going to Oceans and when that club was Studebakers. I couldn't go home alone. Now I might have a beer after seeing a dollar movie at the theaters next door. Times have changed.

A totally casual, divey, local bar in Restaurant Row. ESPN is always on. Seems every time I visit, the number of patrons gets to be smaller and smaller. With the closing of Oceans, I wonder what will happen to the nightlife at the Row. I had heard they were going to remodel the bar, but it clearly hasn't happened yet. Mixed drinks are okay here, so I usually order beers. The water tastes funny...
