Was not impressed by the spicy ahi don which, although cheap, was small and had super market level stringy ahi. Saving grace here was that the 3 piece saba nigiri was available. For three pieces, it is fairly cheap but they do slice it thin though for lunch that's fine by me. They have a variety of options too which is also good. You'll have to take out or just eat at the seating area out front. There's only enough room inside to order and leave. 2 stars unfortunately. Just having a nice cheap saba nigiri option isn't enough. Maybe if I had gotten something different my experience would've been better.

When it comes to quick, take-out sushi this place is my new go-to stop. Don't compare this to a high-end sushi restaurants, that is like comparing McDonald's to 12th Avenue Grill for "American" food. For the true comparable take-out sushi joints in this price point like Kozo or Aloha sushi Sushi at Ward blows them out of the water. They have some pretty creative rolls but the spicy ahi here is the real winner. They have quite a few creative options and some pretty well priced rolls. Service is quick, the staff has always been great when I've gone... so far met three different employees and each of them has appeared cheerful and attentive. Bottom line, if you're craving a quick sushi bite and you're in the Kakaako area this is the place to go.

This one of my favorite places to get Spicy Ahi Donburi in town... The main reasons are beacuse I can ask for it without tobbiko and mild! Yeah, i know.. i order my Spicy Ahi mild. But i can't handle spicy food all that much... But this one is just right. and they give a generous portion of it too. If a place can make me something the way I want it, then im sold. :)

Picked up sushi for breakfast! Handrolls are fresh with healthy portions of rice. Only thing I didn't like is the spicy ahi roll is just ahi with sriracha sauce! Buuurrrrnnnn! Nori is on the thicker side so you gotta play tug of war! LOL! Ahi good quality.

Quick and fast place to get your sushi fix! The workers are super nice and the food is very tasty! They have a good variety of sushi available, from bowls to hand rolls. They are located in that mini food court area near the pet store in Ward Warehouse.

This is my favorite sushi place in Honolulu so far. It doesn't even have its own seating (but it's part of the Ward dining area so you can sit down outside). It's a tiny place run by what I think are two sweet Korean ladies. The sushi ROCKS. I ordered a spicy ahi. I got 8 pieces, each with two big chunks of soft tuna, avocado, and cucumber. The final two were HUGE! They had like, tuna TOWERS! It's all fresh-made. This cost me $5.50. Beat that. P.S. I tried a cali maki and ume maki another time. Cheaper and just as delicious.

Tried the spicy ahi maki 8pc for a little over 5 bucks. Fast service.

The way better version of Kozo! But not as good as Ninja... Food: To be honest, every time I come here I get the hamachi roll ($2.50). The prices are pretty good, and they have a better selection of sushi than most take out sushi places. Usually the fish tastes fresh but yesterday pieces of my fish was kind of frozen :( Location: Across from the pet spot, and right downstairs from spaghetti factory. The store is really tiny and you have to take your food to the outside tables to eat. If you're in a rush, the food comes out pretty quickly even when it gets busy.

As mall sushi places go this place isn't to bad. The service is good they are very friendly and try to help you as fast as they can but a wait is expected when you go to a small sushi place. As for the sushi itself it really isn't to bad the rice taste fresh and the ingredients don't look like some places where it looks like it has been out for a while. Price wise it is pretty good everything is pretty cheap and affordable. I would eat here again if i'm at ward and in the mood for some sushi.

Maybe recently they fell on hard times, but the prices were a bit expensive for a sushi to go place and the sushi was soooooooooooooo tiny! I was still so hungry after. :(

It's not Mitch's or Yanagi's but its a good place to run in and grab something to eat. The prices are pretty reasonable and their service is quick and the employees are very friendly. It's way better than the Aloha Sushi down the street. I would have given them a 4 but guess what....they serve Pepsi. Have to go to another vendor to order my drink and come back to get my order. They don't serve any fountain drinks so they could stock up on Coke instead of just Pepsi.

Good sushi, quick, affordable. I go often. The owner is a great guy.

very good prices for sushi here and quick friendly service so they deserve my hard earned cash. i work 7 days a week and they noticed and even deliver my order to my store (only a few doors down). i love how they have many options to choose from tht are fresh and of decent quality so it actually fills me up and holds me over and satisfies my sushi cravings.

I love this place. I would say the sushi is even better than the restaurant. The owner is so friendly, he always remember my order which make me feel welcome.

Only place I get my SPICY AHI DONBURI. I kid you not, that this shop owned by Koreans makes the most delicious, spicy ahi donburi I have ever tasted. Their ahi is sort of grinded/cut into small pieces and then seasoned with their spicy spicy sauce and tops it on a bowl of rice with some pickled radish and cucumbers, sprinkled with green onions. Unlike other sushi places, the ahi is actually SPICY which I love. A HUGE plus for me was how cheap their donburi is, $7.25+tax!? You got to try it yourself to find out why I "always" come here. Even the owner recognizes my boyfriend and I because we come here waaaay too often. I also love their kitsune udon which tastes so good with the spicy ahi donburi. Love, your forever regular customer.

Sushi at ward...you were so nice. you were korean, sometimes japanese, but always nice and friendly. what happened? were people mean? were they grouchy? Recently i came here for a quick to go sushi and sad to say i won't be coming here as much anymore. Although the cheapness is great, it doesn't compensate for the lack of friendly service i use to receive previously on my visits. Also, I would like to be informed that the make of a spicy ahi maki is not like other spicy ahi's. I had the spicy ahi bomb which is inari topped with spicy ahi which is delicious, but when i ordered the spicy ahi maki, it just looked like ahi...where did the spicy come from? just the saracha (sp?) that they put in the roll. so sushi at ward...it was great while it lasted...but until you get my order right and not just take short cuts and actually give me spicy ahi like your normal spicy ahi hand roll, i won't be back very much.

A good place to go when looking for a quick bite to eat! The prices are reasonable enough and the sushi is pretty good quality. The employees are always friendly enough without being overbearing. The cashier I recently had patiently answered my questions about the differences between the different types of sushi that I was looking at, which I greatly appreciated. The only awkward thing is waiting for your sushi. The sushi place is so small that you and maybe one other person can fit inside so I just waited for my food outside the door. The cashier flagged me down when it was ready though. Its a good place to go when you need sushi to go!

Something small and quick. I got a tuna mayo roll. It wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Tuna was tooo dry. Bleh. I thought a cucumber was included since the picture did show it. I don't if I would go back.

For the price and quality, no complaint. Not the best but easy lunch or dinner less than $10.00. I thought the lunch was better than dinner. DInner rice and fish did not stick together somehow. The fish is pretty big and nice, but rice seems a bit dry. Tables in front of the store. It has been there for 12 years, somehow never noticed. hours 0900-2100 YELP 365 - 47/365

Favorite sushi spot in ward, I even like it better than the Genki Sushi that's on the other side of the Ward Warehouse. LOL This one is just a little business establishment located on the bottom level of The Old Spagetti Factory. They are always fast with their service. Their establishment always looks neat and clean and for some odd reason after all these years I always get served by young teenage boys like as the cashiers. I guess they either have a lot of grand sons or they just hire tons of high school teenage students LOL cheap labor? I usually get their rolls and I have never been let down. Cheap eats& ONO!

We decided to bypass Buca's (across the street from this little mall) and go for something more geared to the locals. Wowsers, good gamble! Who knew that a low-level-looking food court would house such a gem! The sushi is sold in sizable rolls (as opposed to being pre-cut, like we find it in the midwest), most of which I think were under $3. There were so many choices. I settled on three, one of which was a spicy vegetable roll. They were all delectable. The person who waited on me was very patient and fielded my questions well. I spent less than eight bucks and was FULL, which is no small feat in Honolulu! ***So inexpensive, so good!*** I would be remiss if I didn't warn you about parking. Please note that there is a large parking structure on what appears to be the back side of this "mini mall". We didn't notice, and drove around for quite some time, trying to find a spot right outside of the stores.

I am pretty sure if I was told that I could only eat sushi for the rest of my life I would die happy. Basically give me some kind of raw fish, guarantee me chocolate and access to caffeinated beverages and you have a happy girl. When I found this place on one of my "oh my god get me away from my desk" walks, I was happy as a clam to have found yet another place to get my fix. The first time I tried this place I honestly was less than impressed. I had a spicy ahi roll which was overloaded with wasabi, and a spider roll that was soggy. But since the reviews for this place are pretty good and lots of my Yelp friends who have reviews I tend to agree with said this place is a pretty good "on the run" sushi spot, I decided to give it another few tries. I've been getting the spicy ahi donburi and that has been much much better. The portion is pretty big, and the wasabi issue is gone. I wouldn't frequent this place for a nice sit down dinner, but for a fast take out fix, this is definitely a good place to go. They have a large variety of hand rolls, maki as well as donburi and some other things on the menu and they are fast to get your orders out to you during the lunch rush. Service is also friendly.

Fantastic customer service. My friend and I were in the area and had a craving for sushi. The food was decent but what made it a great experience was the customer service. I would go back again because they were so friendly.

Ordered the shrimp tempura and the spicy ahi donburi. The tempura was soggy and the ahi was not that spicy. Not a good place to get food from.

Grabbed a quick lunch today... ordered spicy ahi donburi and tuna roll. Tuna roll didn't come with cucumber...slightly sad...I love cucumbers. Spicy ahi donburi was okay, not my type. Overall okay.

I love their spicy Ahi bowels! They can make it to the customers taste, you just tell them you want it extra spicy or not really spicy and they do just that. I've had a hard time finding spicy ahi that's not too spicy for me but this place makes it perfect and the price is great!

I walked by this place several times, thinking, "meh, food court sushi". But the signs outside proclaiming $2 sushi rolls begged me to try it just once - this place has changed my lunch routine! The $2 rolls are great, there is a lot of variety in the $2-5 range - two of them are pretty filling for me. They don't cut them, and the wrapping and proportions of ingredients isn't consistent, but the freshness, price and taste are there. Also, I have discovered the spicy ahi salad. I eat it at least once a week now. Generous scoop of spicy ahi with tobiko on top of lettuce, Japanese cucumbers, tomato slices and a nice thick slice of avocado. Delicious! Staff is always very friendly as well.

I got the ward special which is pictured as a unagi, tempura shrimp, and spicy ahi on rice. what i got was a cold, tiny portion of unagi, a limp, damp, cool tempura shrimp, and pleasently spicy ahi on umy rice. Plus, people who ordered after me got their orders first.

Every time I go into a sushi joint that is to go, I keep saying that I'm just getting a hand roll... But then I go in and see all these different options and tell myself what would I not order at genki or kuru kuru. So I got the tempura with spicy ahi which was about $7. It was a nice size that satisfies my sushi craving for the moment. The cashier was really nice, he said take my time and didn't make me fill like I'm being rushed. Got me wanting to go back to try the million other options they have

Been coming here for a couple of years but never wrote a review of this place. The poke bowl is good and the service is fast. Ordered hand rolls and sushi platters from them and never been disappointed. Reasonable in price.

Pleasantly surprised for a take-out sushi place. I tried the tekka maki, spicy ahi bowl, philly temaki...all were fresh, super cheap and tasty. Service was quick and good. Convenient location at Ward Warehouse.

Good sushi for the price! Tried their spicy bowl, very good and tasted pretty fresh. Decent sized portion for the price. Also enjoyed the vegetables that came with the dish as well. Their spicy ahi wasn't too mushy and was pretty spicy but not overwhelming. Overall good place and would definitely go back.

My favorite here is their spicy ahi nigiri. They jam pack it with fish and their recipe is really yummy. Not overly spicy with just enough tobiko. I sometimes get their honeydew bubble drink with extra pearls and its always made perfectly. Service is fast and friendly. For an order of spicy ahi nigiri (6 pcs) and the honeydew bubble tea its $9.40. Not bad for a quick and filling sush lunch. Personally, I like their spicy ahi better than genki's. But it still doesn't beat foodland's california roll poke. MMM!
