hate to see how this place is trying to rip off every single customer when they try to order plate with salad. Some tourists probably don't realize they should be paying 2.39 for small side salad as it states on the board, and the cashier will make sure to charge u for the separate salad $4 or $6, not a big deal, right? We have been coming there for so many years and every single time the cashier was charging for a separate salad even tho I clearly say "SMALL SIDE SALAD with that steak plate". not okay. On the top of that the steak today was not seasoned at all. Not going to come back, not going to support business that is clearly taking advantage of people

The service here is very bad. When you order they never ask you if you want rice or smash potato. Afterward when they were putting the smash potato on I asked them if this is for me can I get rice instead, they just ignored me. I asked 2 people and didn't get any reply back. Later on they told me too late in a rude way. Also there real food look way worth than the pictures. Not as nice.

Came here after a night of shopping and got drawn by the pictures of steak and shrimp. The prices were affordable so decided to try this place out. You get what you paid for. The steak is very thin and that's why it's $12.00. I must say the shrimp they gave was huge and not salad shrimp. Although the steak was thin it was tasty. I ordered the clam chowder and it was watery and salty. The plate came with 2 sides, vegetables and mash potato or rice. This ain't no restaurant and didn't expect fine cuisine steak but for the price and what I got, very satisfied!! I come to Ala Moana a lot so I'm sure I will be coming back. Fast and cook to order.

I actually think this is one of the better cheap steak plates. I like the location, and the choice selection is pretty great. My mother and I eat here quite often. I love steak. And she loves steak. So the choice is simple. There are two sizes of steak you can get, 8oz and 12oz(?). I got the 8 oz last night and it was great. The steak was yummers, and it looked quite large so it satisfied me visually. The only problem was that they got the "doneness" level mixed up. I ordered a medium rare, and my mom ordered a medium well for her 12oz. I got the medium well instead of her, and she got her steak done to my specifications. We just switched, so it was fine. I just gave my dad the rest of the steak because I couldn't finish it. So it was luckily a win/win. You can sub mashed potatoes with rice, and you also get veggies AND corn. Pretty good deal for a food court. And they cook it openly, so you can see exactly how the steak is being prepared (for all you germophobes). I totally recommend this place! Go if you want a steak, but don't want to pay "fine dining" prices! Recommended: - ribeye - clam chowder

After a workout i was really craving for MEAT!!!! i was in the ala moana area so i figured why not go to the food court and check it out, looking for blood & MEATT!!! like the zombie i was! i circled the food court multiple times getting hungry, and almost just about to give in the the CHINESE/JAPANESE flares,... ahem panda express. and with no blazin steaks to be found which i haven't realized was gone, i was about to decide on some Chinese. Then i came across a panel of pictures of MEATT!!!!! steak and fish company! my first time here, as i look at the menu my stomach was growling, my mouth watering, as the pictures made it look so tasty i saw that they had RIB EYE!!! from 8oz - 12 oz i decided to get the 8oz cooked med rare which was slightly cheaper but figured was enough to satisfy my ZOMBIE cravings, and decided to replace the rice with the mix vegetables. The wait time was not that bad, reasonable esp with the lunch time rush. when i got my meal the meat was cooked right slightly cooked to well though, but i cant complain, esp during rushes quality can sometimes be compromised didnt matter i was starving!!. But also wanted to note that the meat was a little thin too, not sure if thats how its suppose to be but it almost felt like eating kalbi without the teriyaki or mays sauce or microwaved burger patties without flavor. Rib eye did not have much or any flavor at all. just bland meat, not sure if they add at least salt and pepper while they are cooking it, (but as i was observing while they cooked the meat i just noticed they just put it on the grill and cook it, with no sign of them sprinkling anything on it). The mixed vegetables i know already are the frozen cut veggies you can get at like Costco and i should know because i buy those and it tasted/looked just like them without the hours of being bath in butter. I've tried a lot of different places that have rib eye's on there menu even at a food court but my expectations for this place was to high but it satisfied my meat hunger that day. Not to sure i'm going to come back here again for the rib eye. but they had some great items i would like to try later on well see, maybe ill do a follow up review on my next visit. Review on the workers, i had a nice filipino looking lady take my order, very accommodating when i asked her if i could replace the starch for just all veggies. The worker at the sides area seemed to know the line up already and prepping plates ahead of time if there isn't even any order, again understandable due to the busy time of day, but also unacceptable as they could get cold and what if someone decides not getting those sides to go with the meal. The cook as well seems to know the routine but please pay attention to how the meat is cook, esp their specific temperatures, as if you fail to cook it right and when conditions are right a customer one day may want to complain that, the meat they ordered was not the way they wanted.

Well, stopped here for a quick lunch the other week. The lady taking my order definately looked and acted like she didn't want to be there. No effort was made to explain any questions on the menu I had. Got the larger NY steak with veggies, rice, etc. I think for $22-23 including a drink, they could do better. The steak was below average and had to much fat in my opinion. Also, the rest of the food was very cafeteria-like which doesn't have to be the case. Haven't given a 2-star review in a very long time, but this place is an easy 2-2.5 stars, at best.

Love this place. Its a man restaurant. Steak and shrimp. Can't say that doesn't catch any guys attention. I love how there menus is simple enough for us male species to understand yet not so simple that it leaves us with no options. Rib Eye, New York Steak, Chicken Breast. High Protein to fuel those muscles through out the day. Last time i came here i believe i had the Rib Eye and grilled shrimp combo. This was pretty much the perfect meal. I little typical, but i don't think i could ever get tired of a steak and shrimp diet. My plate came with a choice of mash potatoes or rice along with a side of vegetables. if that isn't healthy i don't know what is! Pricing for this place is pretty decent, it mainly depends on the size of steak that you want.

Got the ribeye platter and they cooked it really well! The meat was tender and juicy and I really couldn't ask fir a better steak, especially in the mall. Sadly their veggies weren't too appetizing and I'm huge on crisp greens. I guess its pretty decent pricing at $12.95 as the most expensive item on their menu.

For about $13... think I'll just eat 2 plates from Blazin' Steaks next time. I knew my New York steak would look nothing like their pictures, but what the heck, I'll gave the place a try. My steak was pretty weak. Poor piece of meat, tough, and didn't look grilled at all. The only thing I liked better than Blazin' was the mash with gravy. I think that was gravy. Not sure I'll go back. If i do, not ordering steak. Maybe the salmon or chicken.

I chose this place over the Blazin' steak booth on the other side of the food court because at least they have some pics and you can see them grilling the goods right at the corner. And instead of the ribeye, I got the (house) steak and fish combo, with the mash and corn and beans. The steaks were alright, still somewhat juicy but just a bit more gnawing thru the fat than I would have liked. It still came with 2 and a half strips of meat tho, so no complaints. The fish was peppered nicely. The sides were eh, kinda what more do you expect when its served fast food style. Overall tho, it was a great value at ($11.99) around $14 with a regular sized soda and a minimal weight with no frills, food court eating. However it still leaves me wondering if Blazin steak would have been better...

They have some serious competition from Blazin Steaks across the food court. I had a steak from here, and it just wasn't pretty. It was a slab of not pretty meat on a plastic not pretty plate and it didn't taste that pretty either. It was middling for a steak. meaning I could not eat it. I haven't been to the blazin steaks location in the food court, but the one on ward had superior steaks to the one at steak company. Steak Company's steak was too meaty. And too expensive for a non-steak lover. I enjoyed the mashed potatoes?

Wow, I honestly didn't think cheap steak from the food court could be so good, but this place really surprised me! First of all, the guy who was our cashier, was really nice, and did not seem like he just wanted to take our order and be done with it. There's only one guy busting his @ss cooking those steaks, fishes, and whatever else they serve there, and that's gotta be harsh, especially during those bustling hours, when everyone's at the food court trying to order food! Despite the low staff, the chef cooked our steaks well, and our food was delicious. I ordered the house steak plate, and with that comes mashed potatoes, corn, and a side of greens. It's like the perfect meal for anyone who's hungry, as it will definitely fill you up! The steak was tender, and had great flavor. I also tried a bite of the fish from my boyfriend's plate, and that was delicious as well. I'll definitely be coming here to get another plate when I'm craving steak at the food court!

I love the steak! This is my best steak for this price!!!

I had the steak and my parents had fish and everyone was happy with what we got. The sides were good also. The price is not bad for what you get considering its in a tourist area and the mall itself is one of the most expensive in the United States. Great mall food in a great mall.

wow i've never had ribeye steak at a mall food court before! it was cooked as requested and reasonably priced. much better than blazin steaks in my opinion. the only steak we have at our mall back in the mainland is a cheesesteak place. not the same. really good for a cheap steak.

Strange concept but works really well. It's located at a corner and half of the corner you order steak with mashed potatoes and sides which we didn't get. The other half is where you get burgers. We got the cheeseburger (about $5) and a shrimp burger (also about $5)... the burgers were pretty tastey but the shrimp burger was really yummy. Four huge pieces of shrimp. Sounds strange and the shrimps were hard to keep in the bun, but so juicy and a must-try

Steak & Fish Company is conveniently located in the Ala Moana food court AKA Makai Market; it conjoins with Cheeseburger Factory near the Makai Market entrance by the Donburi restaurant. If it weren't for my bf spotting the "salad bar," I don't think I would have ever tried this place. (Good job bf!) Steak & Fish company has got the cheapest salad bar ever, hands down. It's $6.99 for a large, one-trip whatever-you-can-fit-in-your-bowl salad. The small salad bowl costs $4.59. Deal! And the large was plenty for both the bf and I to share. This makeshift salad bar contains: lettuce with carrots and red onions, kidney beans, garbanzo beans, beets, corn, watercress, mushrooms, egg, bell pepper, mac salad, chap jae / jap chae, sunflower seeds, and an assortment of dressings. Service was friendly, especially for a busy food court like Makai Market. The nice cashier woman even offered us a second plate--I guess she figured we'd be sharing our large salad, which we were. Steak & Fish Company was a great find! (Thanks bf!) Now I know where to go to get a quick, healthy, and wallet-friendly lunch! Yelp 365 - #029/365

Lets just say this is a "bait & switch" place. Food served not anything like what their menu board shows. Surprise!! Food just thrown on the plate like a soup kitchen. When we commented to Jose the cook and asst mgr that food not the same steak shown, they both laughed and said " those are just pictures. Yes !! But if they advertise a Mercedes for $20k I don't expect to be handed the keys to a Honda. This what happens in a tourist town. They don't need the Locals to stay in business. Save your $14.00 and go to McDonalds.

I wasn't too sure of what I wanted to have for lunch after a pretty demanding day at work. A co worker of mine suggested the Steak and Fish Company since I had never eaten there before. I mean, steak and fish.. what could go wrong? Well the answer to that question is: a lot. When the lady who took my order asked me how I wanted my steak done, I told her medium rare like any steak lover would. She didn't ask me how I wanted my scallops since that's never really a question when ordering scallops anywhere. After sitting down and taking the first few bites, I knew why I had stayed away from this place for so long. My steak was under cooked and my scallops were over cooked. Oh well, at least I had a side of corn they got right out of the can and another side that was comprised of carrots and some yellow thing. Oh, and some terrible mashed potatoes with a gravy that was most likely made from a bagged mix. Thirteen dollars? Score. That is, if anyone thinks paying that much for that little is a deal. Never again.

Hmmm No cheeseburger factory? Oh well close enough. First off, they have the absolute best fries in Hawaii. I would equate the taste of the burger to one you could get at the punahou carnival. Its good, but its small. The veges they put on is huge; lots lettuce, tomatoe and onion (on request). Too bad I dont eat that vege crap and take it all out, so I end up with a mcD's cheeseburger. I still love the taste and the fries and its still cheap. TIP: dont get the special sauce on the burger, YUCK. its like mayo, relish and ketchup. To me its gross!
