After finishing up a strenuous morning hike, I was famished and decided to pit stop in Kaimuki to grab some food to go. The problem: it was only 10am on a Saturday and, while wanting quality grub, I didn't want to wait. After some unsuccessful brainstorming, I glanced up from my stroll down Koko Head Ave and noticed this small storefront. Sprout Sandwich Shop? When did this place get here? It was almost as if the food gods intervened and decided "you must try this!". After a quick menu review, I opted for the "Eddie Would Pull Pork" which has house made pulled pork, a jalapeno pineapple slaw and BBQ sauce on ciabatta bread. After ignoring every instinct to drop that sandwich in my piehole that very moment (describing myself as ridiculously hungry is understating the situation), I drove home and devoured that thing. Verdict: Delicious! The slaw and the BBQ sauce added some great flavor to the pork, the ciabatta was fresh and the sandwich was the perfect size (not too big & not too small). I will definitely return! Helpful tips -there are meat and non meat lover options available -there is a small counter if you need to eat there but it is tiny (see pic) -service was efficient and cheerful, especially since I got there right at the 10am opening -they have cupcakes but I didn't try them -opened roughly 3 weeks ago

Great friendly and fast service!! I'm hardly ever in this neck of the island so when I am I want to be sure I'm eating something worthwhile. I used to frequent jewel or juice, which is right next door, so when I saw Sprout being built I was curious. I had forgotten about it, though, since I don't come this way very often..but this morning I opened my yelp app and saw it on my bookmarks! I went in around 1:20p,and although they seemed busy,my sandwich came out promptly. I got the Floater (oven roasted turkey with melted brie and sliced apples)so so so so so dang delicious! All in all I'm super stoked I tried this place out, and will definitely return. It may be a tad bit pricey, but I'll pay money for some good eats :)

Really good sandwich. Excellent service (handled 20 of us very efficiently and politely). Ginger cooler was just what I needed. Can't think of anyway to make it better. If you don't want to wait in your long lines for brunch this I a great call.

Have you tried their new Chicken Pesto Sandwich? You should! The chicken was moist and the tomato was juicy. This sandwich was just enough for me. Staff was friendly and quick in making my sandwich!

What I took away was a heavy bag that contained just one sandwich. Good value since you get both quality and quantity in every sandwich. Diggin' the one with warm Brie and apple, although how can one go wrong with bacon? Only if you forget the cookie to cap it all off. Expect a wait unless you order online, but your in luck because there's a cracked seed store next door.

If you haven't eaten here, figure out a way to get there immediately because you're missing out on glory between 2 pieces of bread. I bookmarked this place when they first opened & I was hearing such awesome reviews through the grapevine but my schedule has always made it hard to get here. They're open tues-sat 10-3 by the way. Again, get your butt here ASAP! The other day my boyfriend was craving sandwiches for dinner but we gave up & ate chain food. The next morning he again asked about lunch and I quickly looked at the clock to see it was almost 11 - perfect timing to finally get to try Sprout! - & told him the decision was made. They have their menu written on a chalkboard on the wall in the restaurant with some really cute names for all the sandwiches. I am extremely indecisive when it comes to food because I want everything and this menu made me truly want every sandwich at once. But after careful consideration we chose The Floater panini, an amazingly yummy combination of crisp apple slices, fresh thick turkey breast, ooey gooey melted brie cheese, lettuce, house mayo and finally the most perfect pickled red onions; it was tasty, unique, hearty and delicious... I would buy these red onions in a jar to snack on they were done so well:: AND we tried The Fonz, a meaty mix of prosciutto, pastrami & salami with a tangy olive tapenade that we were licking off the edges, greens, house mayo and more wonderful pickled red onions. This was perfect for the meat eater in me and it was such a perfect blend of different flavors; I was in italian heaven. Both were ridiculously tasty and worth every penny - we were talking about going back as we were eating it was that good. We also got a ginger cooler which was like a ginger lemonade type drink and was exactly what I was looking for to fill my ginger craving. This is definitely one of the best deals for a sandwich and is one of the best sandwiches I've eaten on island. You could taste the love and freshness. Can't wait to come back to Sprout!

Very friendly staff... got the fonz and crater sandwich both were super yummy. The fonz loved the pickle onions and the olive spread...the bread is nice and soft. The crater the spread it spicy it hits you after a few bites...love it. Also the lady let me know to check in on yelp get a free bag of chips. Going back to try the other sandwiches

I stopped by on a lunch break, and ordered (2) sandwiches. The ingredients were delicious, however I do feel $9.50 for a sandwich is a bit on the pricier side. I had an italian style sandwich with a olive spread, lettuce and had it toasted. My friend had a club style sandwich with bacon, turkey meat, etc. My friend did it without bread, and Sprout placed a bed of lettuce in place of the bread. There is street parking or your could pay a meter in the parking lot near by. The business was booming as the shop was packed with hungry people waiting. I think the price just is a bit to high for me.

An excellent sandwich shop. Clean tables friendly service and fresh ingredients. I especially recommend the tuna salad sandwich. They've got terrific baked cookies as well.

This would have definitely been a five star review if not for two things... the shop needs more seating and the prices were just a tad too much. My beau and I went here for lunch on Memorial Day, expecting that it might be closed but were pleasantly surprised that it was open. We had heard good things from friends living in the area so we thought we'd try it out. He ordered some sandwich that he tells me is basically a fancy club and I ordered the Sproutwich, add havarti. At checkout, the total came to just under $20 for just the two sandwiches, no drinks or chips or any other add-ons. Not crazy, but not cheap either. My guy said "These better be good sandwiches for $20". Luckily, we were both pleased with our choices. My beau enjoyed his sandwich (he expressed contentment in the dude-sort of way) and my sandwich was excellent, full of delicious veggies and hummus. Being a vegetarian, I was very happy that they had numerous options for picky eaters such as myself. As I said, I would have given them 5 stars but there were a total of five seats in the entire shop (in and out) and it was a nice day out, we were hoping to sit and enjoy our sandwiches at the time of purchase due to our hunger levels. But alas, we took them home and it was fine. I would recommend this shop for a good, filling sandwich though and we will definitely go again when we are up for splurging on some sandwiches.

Since there are so many reviews that are really good - I will just add this: BEST SANDWICH PLACE EVER!! We got the tuna sandwich, the floater, don patrol and the fonz. ALL AWESOME!! The folk that work there are super nice too. It's pretty much a take out place so don't expect to eat there. It's small and only a few chairs to sit while waiting. The food is worth waiting for!

Great service every time I go here and I don't feel like a gluttonous pig afterward. Double rainbow. One of my favoritestestestest sammie shawps evar. Handy Tip: Use their marketplace page to order online to avoid the wait that accompanies the ravenous demand of their patrons.

We have been to Sprout to pick up lunch twice and it was amazing both times. We ordered the Crater online and added a few items. Online ordering is super easy and they promise it will be ready in 15 minutes. By the time we got there and parked it was ready and waiting for us. They toast it in a panini press. It gives it that nice crispy crunch. The servers are really friendly and nice and give helpful menu suggestions. Oh, and there is yummy cold citrus water. It was delicious! You will love it.

Great sandwich ahop. I love the Crater! If you know you will be having a sandwich from here do online ordering. I walked in, told wait was 10 minutes. Came back only to have to wait 10 mote...:(

Ok usually everthing is really good at Sprout. I just had the chicken salad sandwich which I did not care for, I just tossed it out. It was a sweet curry chicken salad not what I was expecting. I am staying away from that one.

I was driving through Old Waialae looking for a place to get some takeout for lunch, such a beautiful day it was. I passed by my favorites: H&M Burgers, St. Louis Drive-Inn, Champa-thai...etc. I finally got to the top of the hill (Koko Head Ave) and decided on Verde (formerly BC burrito). So I parked in a metered stall which someone had left 15 min so I was in luck already. On my walk around the corner to Verde I passed a place I've never noticed, Sprout Sandwiches. I walked 10 paces past but had a change of mind and turned back to check out the menu, fresh turkey bacon with pickled onions was the first menu item (the Duke) and a bunch of well thought-out sandwiches with catch names. So I said what the hey and decided to give this place a shot (This shop reminds me of Andy's in Manoa but it is a lot smaller with no seating). So I waited in line to order (2nd out of 2 people) which took longer than expected as the bloke in front of me was chatting up the cashier (wearing a lei). I also noticed 6 workers in the "kitchen"- a small small area located behind the front desk/bar. They were all packed like sardines but they all looked happy. With that much man power and the second in line, I knew i would make it back to my car without having to feed the meter. I ordered The Duke even though a kahlua pig cabbage sandwich caught my eye. It was 1145 on a Wednesday when i ordered and by 1155 the place was getting packed. Lots of surfing looking local people who were giving off a positive vibe. I mentioned to the cashier that I had never seen this shop before and asked if it was new (obviously it was since I'm familiar with the area for 27 years). She said it was and that it was their first day of business! I was excited and everything made sense: the lei, the extra staff, and the family and friends. My sandwich came out in less than 10 minutes, which seemed quite long but then I saw that they toast the bread and also reheat the bacon on the griddle for the panini (+1 star). As I walked out with my Duke in hand the owner stopped me for a picture and we chatted. He had a smile on his face and I could tell there was passion in his voice, so I had high hopes for my sandwich. When I got down to it, I opened up my brown wrapper and viola! (see my photo, and I'm sure many more to follow). The Turkey was fresh, the bacon was fresh, everything fresh and ohh so good. So I'll definitely be back to see the co-owner (Stephen or David) and try 1 or 2 more sandwiches. The only quibble I had was $9.50 for just my sandwich. I know it's hawaii and it's a small operation, but seemed a little steep (cheapest thing on the menu is the Keiki $6.50 almondbutter-banana-honey sandwich). Also, the cute cashier asked me if I wanted focaccia panani and I was like hell yeah!, but I got Ciabatta instead. Overall, I'll be back. And you should definitely check out this new joint. Also, Not open Mondays! Tues-Sunday Only

So glad we have a quality sandwich store in Kaimuki to add to the great gems that have been popping up in the area. Service was excellent. So far only tried the sproutwich, a vegan patty with a perfect mix of different vegetables and a great sauce. The sandwich was big! Enough to serve as my lunch and a light snack for later. Well worth $9.50. The other menu items range around $8 and all seem delicious. They also sell organic juice, locally baked cookies, desserts, Ono pops, and the delicious kombucha from Kokua market. I'd come here for dinner if they were open at night, would be great if they had salads to add to their menu :)

Sprout is a hidden gem. I live about two blocks away from there but I didn't notice it until last month and the thing is, I freakin love a good sandwich! Anyway, I was working nearby and one of my co-workers bought me a sandwich from there called the "Lighthouse" and man oh man! It was delicious!!! And the sandwich is a good size. I was full after only eating half of a half of the sandwich but it was so good that I kept going. Since I couldn't finish it, I took it home with me. I made sure NO ONE else ate it by marking it with a post it that said "Please Do Not Eat or Throw Away". Hahaha! I ended up finishing the rest of it two days later for lunch. The two days it was sitting in the fridge didn't affect the taste or anything at all! It was just as delicious as when I first tried it! I am definitely going there more often and it's a bonus that it's so close to my house! I recommend!!

So happy this place has gone in! I've always hoped that kaimuki would open a kick ass deli w fresh finds. Stopped in today and ordered the DuKE. It was great! Fresh ingredients, nice staff, modern atmosphere. I love the reclaimed wood on the walls and the chalk board menu. Whoever did the inside design work nailed it. Much better food and atmosphere than Earl Sandwiches which is right around the counter. Wish that they had fresh arugula and a few other sandwich options. They also had really limited drink options. Would love to see a tuna sandwich on the menu. I had to go to the liquor store to grab something to drink. But other than that it is a great grab and go sandwich spot. They just opened a few days ago so all the kinks will be worked out. Highly recommended. Ill be back soon! I live right down the street!

My first time to this place, I love trying yummy delicious sandwiches. They have a decent selection of sandwich combinations and choices. I had the loafer and my bf had the duke. Both of them had the roasted turkey, which I would have liked to be cut thin like deli style versus the 1/4" thick cuts. The pickled onions were perfectly pickled and not too vinegary. The sweet apple slices in mine were a pleasant surprise to accompany the melted Brie cheese!! Absolutely delicious. I also appreciated the perfectly toasted panini bread! Soft in the inside and crispy on the outside. I also had to try their fresh lemonade, it was okay, nothing new or amazing but it went went well with the sandwiches. I also wish we could do a "make your own" sandwich and choose exactly what components you want. But other than that, it was perfectly executed sandwiches!!

Delicious, fresh sandwiches made with locally grown ingredients. My go to sandwiches are always the Italians and Sprout's "the Fonz" sandwich is one of the best on the island!

    kokohead.aveにある sandwich専門店です。

Best sandwich shop in Honolulu - hands down. My husband and I got The Fonz & The Duke - both delicious and highly recommended. I'm a big sandwich person - but I'm often very disappointed when I order any sandwich on the islands. I find that if the meat is fresh, the bread is stale. Or that the sandwich bread is too mushy, or too hard, or the lettuce too wilted...frankly, it's not easy making the perfect sandwich. Sprout Sandwich Shop makes perfect sandwiches. The staff here pays close attention to all details of the sandwich. They make everything (including their delicious olive spread!) at the Shop, and all of their ingredients are fresh. If you're a vegetarian - they have awesome options. They're not satisfied with average, and this translates to an amazing sandwich experience. My only complaint is that I wish they were open until 6pm. And would love placing orders via phone - would make timing much easier. TIP: Try the lemonade - yummy!

Omg I am so full!! The sandwiches are huge! I had the sproutwich sandwich (a vegan pattie they make. It had black beans and some sort of nuts) on toasted ciabatta bread. It was delicious!! They put a yummy bbq type sauce on it and besides maybe the bread it is all vegan. Super fresh local veggies. As I vegan I appreciate them offering this sandwich. Super delicious. I'll be back next time I'm in the area.

I live in the neighborhood and drive past all the time. Every time I have noticed that it has become more and more popular by the size of the line out the door. I finally had some time for lunch with my wife and we walked on down. Small little operation. Fun decor and atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Killer sandwich selections. Very well made and full of flavor. My wife and I got "The Fonz" and "The Floater." Both amazing. Full of flavor, soft bread and pretty filling. I will return. Give this place a try. Get there early or little after the lunch rush. Busy place. Small with very few options to sit so take it to go. Don't expect subway this is much more artisan so you aren't going to get a sandwich in 3 minutes. Sprout is a hit in my book. It will soon outgrow it's space and need more room and staff to handle the growing following they will for sure receive. Go get one now. I will as soon as I finish this review.

I went to Sprout for the 2nd time and it was better then the first. I had the sprout veggies sandwich, it's was so fresh and the bbq sauce was tangy delicious! The sandwich was so big I didn't want or need any sides. The employees were really friendly. I would highly recommend this joint!

  • Kimo S.

I'm the bad guy for giving 3 stars... sorry. I wasn't blown away and that was for a few reasons. 1) Price was too high, $10 for a sandwich with no sides. 2) Lacking depth of flavor. There was a lack of a good sauce/spread and lack of seasoning. A minor gripe, you're called Sprout but don't include sprouts on all of the sandwiches. Also, $2 for avocado was too much for the tiny portions given. Otherwise the sandwiches were good, fresh turkey and fresh veggies, the tomatoes were delicious. The bacon obviously made The Duke a winner but if there wasn't bacon I feel the sandwich would have been bland. Overall, just a bit too pricey for what you're getting and not enough flavor with the sandwiches. Perhaps they need to tweak their sauce/spread a bit to add a bit more flavor to it.

Four things: 1) Let it be known that it is impossible to eat a sandwich in a delicate, lady-like manner - especially when you're eating a sandwich as delicious and fresh as the ones at Sprout. You will try to be polite and dainty, but it will be impossible. Be prepared for some seriously ugly sandwich face. 2) The only seating available at Sprout is at the counter, facing a giant window. If you sit at this counter, you must throw away your fear of being caught with ugly sandwich face, because it is inevitable. People will walk past the window at which you sit, and you will make eye contact with said people just as your ugly sandwich face is at its worst. It will be awkward. It will be weird. 3) Because Sprout is brand new, and because no one can resist a delicious sammie called the Sproutwich, The Fonz, or The Yogi, this tiny little shop will get busy during lunch time. Thus, not only will you be dodging awkward glances with passerbyers outside, you'll also be rubbing shoulders with all the other ugly sandwich face customers. 4) Somehow, as soon as you walk into Sprout Sandwich Shop, all these first three things won't even matter. You'll be greeted by friendly faces and the smell of bread. You'll love the decor, fun sandwich names, and delicious ingredients. Most of all, though, you'll be extremely satisfied and happy with your fresh and yummy sandwich.

Sprouts sandwich shop meets all my expectations in a sandwich. You can taste the quality in the meat, bread & vegetables. The Duke was absolutely perfect - I subbed avocado rather than bacon. The sandwich is light but you walk away feeling completely satisfied. Reasonably prices. And it's adorable that the sandwiches are served in pie pans. Next time I'm jn Hawaii I will be sure to stop by again!

Sprout sandwich shop in Diamond Head Hawaii. All I can say is wow loved it. It was more than my expectations. Good food good service. I have stomach issues the girls at the counter were informative and the food was excellent. I highly recommend it! I will make it a point to visit every time I'm there.

My husband had the duke, I had the sproutwich (both on the house made ciabatta bread. I added avocado and onion to mine). He's a meat eater and loved mine too! Both delicious!! Lemonade is homemade and sooo good!!! Best sandwiches in Waikiki hands down.

  • Blake T.

I was fortunate to get a taste of some of their sandwiches before they open up this week. Wow. This is going to be the spot to hit when you are in Kaimuki. The chicken salad sandwich was amazing with the homemade mayo on panini. Perfect size sandwich too! Their hummus is unreal, so try the veggie sandwich if you're not a fan of meat. Their grilled cheese is also a perfect option! Keep your eyes and taste buds ready for their grand opening soon, this will easily be the best sandwich shop in the Pacific! The owners Steve and Stef are the nicest people in the neighborhood!!

Great sandwich shop. i have tried the Fonz , Lighthouse and the Floater. All are excellent sandwiches. Service was prompt and courteous. Floater was my favorite. Delicious turkey with brie...great combination. Really enjoy the pickled red onions too. Fonz and Lighthouse also delicious. Can't go wrong with any of those choices. Look forward to trying the other sandwiches. I hope that they extend their business hours. Kaimuki is quickly becoming my go to place for good eats!

I Really like the idea of a lunch time sandwich only shop. Open between 10 am and 3 pm Mon-Fri. Great location, right on Koko head ave. in Kaimuki. Variety is good, have tried most of the sandwiches, my favorite is the yogi. Would like to see perhaps a special or a sandwich of the the week variation. The shop is small, there are 3 or 4 stools and a small 2 person outside table, so plan on take out. Service is a bit slow, but that is because it is very busy and all sandwiches are made at time of order, expect to wait 15 min for your order. You have a choice of panini pressed or ciabatta bread, I would recommend panini. Give this place a try, you will fall in love with sandwiches for lunch again!

This is definitely my new favorite lunch spot. We both got the Duke and refreshing ginger tea. Get the chipotle mayo added and you can't go wrong. Husband had the sproutwich (bean burger) which was yummy. I had the Don Patrol (caprese). $20 for two sandwiches, a bit much. Also, 6 people working and it takes ten minutes to make a sandwich. The girl getting us was friendly, but I felt it was unfortunate that I had to wait after my husband got his sandwich and the girls were busy chatting.

Another trendy spot located in Kaimuki, this one serving up quality sandwiches. My biggest gripe is the price, $9.50 for a sandwich. I mean, its good, but nothing I couldn't make myself at home. I ordered the Duke and it was perfectly fine. Nothing bad, but nothing to write home about either in my opinion. They REALLY skimp on the meat though, I had two or three very thin slices of turkey and a lot of my bites toward the end of the sandwich were all bread. The service was nice, looked like it was run by a bunch of UH students. Very friendly vibe and they looked like they were having fun, I half expected them to break out in song and dance while crafting those sandwiches. Small gripe was that it took almost 10 minutes for my sandwich and there were at least 5 people working besides the counter girl. Overall the sandwiches are pretty decent, but I've had better. Not really worth the price in my opinion though, I'd only go back if I'm really craving a sandwich and was in the area.

Hands down one of the BEST BLT sandwiches I've ever had. I've also tried the turkey with brie and apples (comes w/onions, but I asked for it without) and it's a very close runner up. Everything is very fresh - the bread is awesome. Hard to choose between Earl & Spout, but the nice thing is that you don't have to - just alternate between the two!

  • Kimber B.

So good! Been three times. Every time is great! Nothing like it here on the island. I have eaten the BLT (under a different name) each time. The chipotle mayo makes it unlike any other BLT!

It may sound contradictory but their sandwiches are delicate & hearty at the same time. I was relieved to walk in and see that they served meat sandwiches considering the name of this joint. I got The Fonz - pastrami, salami, prosciutto with olive tapenade, greens, and pickled red onions. Served warm on fresh ciabatta bread. Yes, there may be only a single slice of each meat & some may call it stingy for the price point, but I feel with the delicate nature of the greens and the soft toothsomeness of the fresh bread, a sandwich packed tight with too much meat would've overpowered this balance. The olive tapenade flavor does come to the forefront but I love the tang that cuts through these rich cured meats and keeps it from feeling too heavy. The greens looked like a mixture of butter leaf and other lettuce greens and they were so fresh, crisp, and vibrant. Not sure where the ciabatta bread comes from but I love the firm outer crust with the pillowy bouncy center, perfect for soaking up some of that tapenade oil. Nothing beats freshly baked bread. The size of the sandwich is quite decent, about the size of 2 palms. I felt deeper in love with this sandwich with each bite. My issues with the sandwich for personal preference only: I love pickled red onions so I only wish that these were a bit tangier in its pickledness. Even though it lists homemade mayo, unfortunately I couldn't taste it so I did have to add a little more mayo when I got home to add some moisture. I wonder if adding cheese would be an option to add some kind of creaminess or fat that felt a tiny bit lacking. Overall you can tell that they put a lot of love into their sandwiches and you can feel it when they gently wrap and pack your sandwich as if handing you a fragile gift. Would love to come back to try the sproutwich which was sold out by the time I got there at 2p on Saturday. I'm guessing it's popular.

It may be a small shop but they have a great selection of sandwiches to offer. As a vegetarian I am often disappointed by other sandwich shops that only have one vegetarian or vegan friendly sandwich (which usually involves eggplant or mushrooms) but Sprout has the most amazing vegetarian sandwiches. I got their sproutwich and it was to die for. Vegetarian patties aren't all they're cracked up to be, but theirs was BOMB. I'm def coming back to try the other sandwiches they offer.

Very creative flavors put together as a sandwich, I loved The Duke. At first glance you think club, but wait until you get a taste of the pickled red onion, WOW! Also tried the Floater...now that I have tried both I would go the route of The Floater. The Brie and Crispy Apple in the Floater is fantastic!

My favooorite sandwich spot is right in my neighborhood woohoo! My faves are the Pulled Pork Eddie and the Chicken and Brie cheese Floater. Real bread, real veggies, real meat, real sauces, real cheeses, real sandwiches. We've missed having a great sandwich place on-island and I cannot get enough of this place. Pick-up is best and now you can order online. Check their specials on the right side as you walk in. Delectible desserts come in daily and the cookies and ginger coolers complement your sandwiches to the tee. Totally worth the price and the wait - get their right after they open or before they close if you don't want to wait to long but they're pretty fast no matter what.

Today I had the pleasure of trying their "floater" sandwich. It was absolutely amazing! All the things a person could want: apples, Brie, turkey, lettuce, pickled red onions, on ciabatta bread... Yes, please. We decided to get the yogi too and split each one. They're great for sharing. I'm stuffed! The yogi was good. I could really taste the lime which was interesting, but the floater stole my heart. I'm excited to try more of what they have to offer. We weren't initially greeted when we walked in, but when we went up to the counter, the service was so friendly with a smile. We let them know we'd be back after grabbing a smoothie next door and they were happy to hold it for us. My experience so far has been brief, but I really love the modern decor and nice look of the place, even with their white iPad POS system to add to the modern vibe. The chalkboard is colorful and artistically decorated and they seal your sandwich wrapped in deli paper with a nice sticker market "sprout" with their logo. I think that's a nice touch. They are small so I suggest take out and YES, they accept credit cards... Can't wait to come back!

I just finished the "Don Patrol" sandwich and it was outstanding! It was fresh, tasty and did not have 10lbs of lettuce and onions as fillers. I could recognize and enjoy every item my sandwich contained and ready to start building my favorites list. My next 3 Saturdays have been entered in my phone to include The Sprout Sandwich Shop! It didn't hurt that Steve said that I was his most ever attractive customer! Okay, that part is not true but the rest of my review is honest!!!!! Mahalo Kate

Tried this place out cuz a friend recommended it. Good sanwiches. I had the duke. Close to where i live.. but i dont know if its worth the $9.50 i paid. I can pretty much get the same thing at safeway for $6 with avocado. Still, the service was good. Food was good. Might try their other sandwiches in the future.

Great sandwiches, clean shop with nice vibe! Had the Crater which was a BLT spiced up with a chipotle mayo. We added avocado and it was really Ono on the ciabatta bread. Definitely going back.

The staff convinced me to get the Floater and it was the best decision I made all day: crisp apple slices, fresh thick turkey breast, brie cheese, lettuce, mayo and pickled red onions. Definitely buying this sandwich again...probably tomorrow.

Love their sandwiches, but expect long wait times, even when ordering online. Each time I've ordered online I've shown up and had to wait beyond when the online system says your food will be ready.

I came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch, and it seemed like the rest of Kaimuki had the same idea. There was a line out the door when we arrived, but ordering was quick and the service was friendly. Seating is limited here, with a small counter inside and two small tables outside for customers to dine on, but luckily we were able to grab one of the tables outside bc for some reason no one else wanted to sit directly in the scorching hot sun? (just kidding, it was actually quite pleasant minus the small amount of sweat). There was quite a bit of a wait for our food, but the sandwiches here are made fresh to order, and considering the tight space and the high order to worker ratio, you have to cut them some slack. I ordered the Sproutwich, made with their house vegan patty, toasted panini style. My only complaint is that the patty was a little too mushy for my taste, but the overall flavor was still great. The sandwiches here are a bit on the pricier side, but Sprout emphasizes the use of fresh, local ingredients, which I am willing to pay a couple extra dollars for (plus fresh and local makes it zero calories, right?). I can't wait to come back and try some of their other sandwiches!

These guys know what they are doing. This is one of the best sandwich shops on the island and hands down the best lunch spot for vegetarians and vegans out there. Keep it up!

Is Sprout Sandwich shop really that great? No it's not. Is it decent? Yes, it is. Is it overpriced? Yes, by at least $3-4 bucks. So I visited this tiny sandwich shop for the first time yesterday and must say that while the staff was friendly, this place wreaks of trendiness. For one, the sandwiches are pretty small. My choice, "The Fonz" was supposed to come with 3 different meats. Cool. What I received though was 3 types of meat sliced so thin that stacked on top of each other they equalled one slice of meat. The olive spread overpowered the sandwich and the flavor of the meat anyway. Additionally, my little sandwich cost almost $10 and didn't include cheese, chips, a drink, a cookie, nuthin'. Sorry Sprout, but your sandwiches are overpriced, overrated, and under stuffed. If they were around $6-7 I wouldn't complain so much. Additionally, I had to wait around 10 minutes for my sandwich when there was hardly anyone in the place and it looked as though there were more than enough workers behind the counter. It's not like my sandwich had to be heated or anything. Maybe they needed all that time to carefully and delicately shave the tissue paper thin slices of meat.

WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD! Loved "The Floater." A bit on the pricey side but well worth it: TOP QUALITY INGREDIENTS. Looking forward to some outdoor seating/picnic area (complementary yoga mats anyone?) in the future. Wonderful addition to this very special little neighborhood-- go check them out for yourself!!

Have only been here once, and the sandwich was good, not great. Also ordered a lemonade, which was very good but cost $4 and the cup wasn't even filled up the whole way, very over priced. Food was good enough to return but the staff did not impress me one bit. Cashier was too busy talking story to her friend/customer and ignored the line of people waiting to order. Also, watched one of the girls who was making sandwiches, bring a bag of food outside to a car, she was wearing gloves, touched the counter, then touched the door, handed to food to the customer outside, touched the door again, and proceeded to make food with the dirty gloves she was wearing. Gross.

Curious, smiling service! Hand crafted sandwiches made with Aloha! I've had the Light House, Fonze, Eddie, and the Floater, all are way original, just like the charm of the staff and ownership. Be going back weekly, this place will be fun to watch grow!

Tried this new place today. I had The Fonz and my friend had The Floater. Both were yummy and had great potential. I'm giving it 3 stars for now but will try it again and possibly up my stars. Being a small business food establishment owner, here's my suggestions for improvement: There was too much flour on the ciabatta bread. When I took a bite I accidentally inhaled flour from my bread and was coughing/choking. They need to use a brush to dust off some of the excess flour. Also, the shop being named Sprout, I was hoping to have some sprouts in my sandwich. I found 2 little pieces of sprouts which seemed to have fallen in there from another sandwich prep. Would love a pile of sprouts in my sandwich. Lastly, I would love if they would maybe put a pickle spear on top of the wrapped sandwich. Or maybe a small bite sized cookie. Just a little "extra something". My friend said her Floater sandwich could have used a bit more Brie. I definitely want to try other sandwiches on their menu!

This is by far my favorite sandwich shop! The first time I visited I got the Yogi and wasn't disappointed. All their sandwiches are incredibly healthy and most of them have sprouts. They're perfect in that they don't put too much sprouts so that it has that dirt-like taste and every bite is perfection! After having the Yogi, I decided to try the Dawn Patrol on my next visit and I'm in love. I love Caprese salad and anything with Balsamic vinaigrette, and this sandwich hits the spot every time. Parking is not really a problem, you can either pull into the lot right around the corner from the shop up Koko Head Ave. or you can attempt to find street parking in which you have to feed the meter, but overall, parking isn't a problem. This place is perfect for a post/pre-beach food run or just something quick for lunch. There aren't many places to sit, but Diamond Head lookout is close by and is a perfect spot to sit and enjoy Sprout's sandwiches with a friend.

My mom picked up sandwiches from here today and brought them back to my place for lunch. I had gone online and looked at he menu and told her what I had wanted, and luckily she followed my instructions to a tee! She stated that while there was a line the wait time on her order wasn't too bad and she didn't think it longer than ten mins. And while the bill was on the pricier side, it looked like we got what we paid for. The food: I ordered the Don Patrol sandwich as a toasted panini. *sigh* While the filling was tasty, I was a bit disappointed overall. The panini was not toasted, it wasn't even warm (and my apartment is only 2 mins away from the shop so it wouldn't have cooled down that much). There were grill marks on the bread but that was the only indication that it had gone near a heat source. The ingredients in the sandwich were cold, and lacking. Again, the filling was delicious but I would have appreciated more. $8 for a caprese-style sandwich is a lot of money. There were two pieces of very thin tomato, 4 big chunks of mozarella, and a few scattered basil leaves. Then he inside of the bread was drenched in balsamic dressing. I wish the ingredients had been more even and more of them, and I really wish my sandwich had been actually toasted. Mom ordered The Crater, which is basically a BLT with chipotle mayo for $8.50. Same issue, she asked for it toasted and while it had grill marks on the bread it wasn't warm or toasty at all. There was a mountain of lettuce in the sandwich with only a few thin slices tomatoes, three pieces of bacon, and a river of spicy sauce. So spicy mom could barely eat it. I tried it too and it was overkill on the chipotle mayo and lettuce. Just not worth $8.50 in my eyes. I'm hoping we just caught them on a bad day, and since they are around the corner I will give them another chance. Fingers crossed.

The staff was super friendly and immediately asked if I had been there before. When I told her "no" she took the time to explain each sandwich for me. I decided on The Sproutwich because it's the sandwivh that started it all. Hands down, it is the best veggie burger I've ever had. It's black bean based, so it had a nice meaty texture and the flavor was outstanding! The homemade bbq sauce is awesome. My daughter had The Duke, delicious fresh turkey breast, local veggies, fresh bread...to die! Will become a new local favorite, for sure!

After seeing some pictures of the sandwiches here I needed to come in ASAP. I went with the Duke and thought it was pretty good but as I look at some posts right now I wish I had added avocado - next time. Also it seemed a tad pricy at almost $10 however, that may be the going rate around here. The bread was soft (I was worried it would be crusty), there was plenty of turkey, delicious bacon, fresh tomato, and the onion was perfect. My sandwich was pretty runny so it was a bit messy and it seemed like it could have used a little kick. Maybe hot sauce, a flavored mayo, pesto, something? FYI - it's a very small shop so there's only a few bar stools at the window and two small tables outside.

So delicious! Had the 'Sproutwich' and everything tasted flavorful and fresh! Was only in town for a few days and came back twice. I love to support local, and these guys definitely have the right idea. Keep doing your thing! Can't wait to visit again.

These sandwiches are amazing!!! From the bread to the fillings to the toppings and spreads...I love it all! I always get the Sproutwich and I'm obsessed! The vegan patty is full of flavor and there's plenty of lettuce, tomatoes and sauce all between two slices of their incredibly tasty toasted ciabatta. The sandwiches are big and tightly packed. It is pricey for a sandwich but I feel like the price fits for the size and quality of the sandwich. I'm pretty cheap but I know this sandwich will be good (very consistent) and fill me up (big and full) every time so it's totally worth it! It would be cool if they sold half sandwiches with a bag of chips for the price they charge for one full sandwich, then maybe more would see the value. However, I just LOVE the Sproutwich so I will be happy to shell out $9.50 now and then to make my tummy happy and healthy!

Being a lover of all sandwiches I've been meaning to come here. Last week after a day at the beach my bf and I decided to grab a quick bite on the way home. We were both hangry so I researched the menu, ordered and paid on their website and waited for their text. We received a text 15 min later that our order was ready. Woohoo! Since it was crowded, my bf dropped me off at the corner where there was a growing line of people outside the narrow door and small store. I felt a sigh of relief knowing that our sandwiches were done and all I had to do was pick it up. I didn't want to cut anyone so I patiently waited in line behind the others. The girl at the counter told the people ahead of me that it was a 20 minute wait. (Wow never heard of that one before). When I got to counter I was informed that it was going to be another 10 minute wait and that they were out of limeade and lemonade. Whatttt! It was only 1pm! The sandwich we ordered was brie, turkey, apple, pickled onions, and lettuce. It was good, but the shredded lettuce was messy and kept falling out of my sandwich. I hope they can fix their service because to be told a sandwich is done but then to have to wait another 10 is unacceptable in my book. Andy's is just as crowded and they get it done with 1-2 ladies. There were 4-5 people making sandwiches at Sprout. I know it's a new store so I hope they can work their kinks out, or else it's just not really worth the wait.

Sprout Sprout let it all out These are the Sandwiches i can do without Come on, i'm yearning for you, come on Sprout Sprout let it all out These are the sandwiches i can do without Come on, i'm yearning for you, come on In hungry times You shouldn't have to sell your soul On Wheat or White You really really ought to know Those hungry minds They took you for a starving boy Eat them on Rye, you shouldn't have to jump for joy You shouldn't have to jump for joy Sprout Sprout let it all out These are the sandwiches i can do without Come on, i'm yearning for you come on They gave you rice And in return you give them hell As cold as Shave Ice, i hope i live to tell the tale Sprout Sprout let it all out These are the sandwiches i can do without Come on, i'm yearning for you come on Well what can i say about Sprout Sandwich Shop that i haven't said above. The Sandwiches here are simply out of this world amazing and all i can say for such a quaint little place, they pack a real punch when it comes to sinking your teeth into a really good old fashioned sandwich. The menu here has something for everyone from Vegeterian sandwiches like the Sproutwich to the Duke Sandwich which is made with Oven Roasted Turkey, Hickory Smoked Bacon, lettuce, tomato, and those pickled red onions which is something i could eat by itself. I see people complaining about the prices for the sandwiches here and for what reason i simply don't understand why. Just remember, this ain't Subway my friends. It you want a sandwich of that caliber then so be it, but when you are getting quality ingredients and meats here at Sprout, it's worth every penny to me. To me, they make the perfect sandwiches here because they are not stingy on the meat and they don't over pack a sandwich where eating it is simply an impossible task. Obviously people who complain about the amount of meat and other stuff just don't understand what a great sandwich is all bout. If so, please go to your nearest Supermarket and buy yourself a loaf of bread, some Oscar Meyer Bologna, and other stuff and eat to your hearts content. I guess you can't please everybody but for me. i'll pay whatever i have to as long as they make an amazing product, and at Sprout Sandwich Shop, i can see why people flock to this place. As for the times being here, the service has been nothing short of amazing at Sprout, They greet with you with the Aloha Spirit here and all the workers here seem very happy and eager to serve you. I really love how they pack their sandwiches here. They pack it very meticulously and it even makes me not want to open wrapper and eat my Sammy. Check it out yelp.com/biz_photos/spro… yelp.com/biz_photos/spro… Here are some of the Sandwiches i have eaten so far: The Sproutwich: Made with a Vegan Patty.Sprouts, with a bbq sauce and a Cilantro Lime Aioli. I added some Avocado to it too. For those vegeterians out there, this is a must order right here. I ain't no vegeterian but this was an awesome sandwich!!! yelp.com/biz_photos/spro… The Duke: Made with Fresh Oven Roasted Turkey, Hickory Smoked Bacon, with those amazing Pickled Red Onions and added Avocado and Sprouts to it. Let's just say this Sandwich never ever had a chance after my first initial bite. I devoured it. yelp.com/biz_photos/spro… I've also had the Floater and The Fonz and i have to say is can't you see a pattern here? I just love everything about this place. Not only fo they Sandwiches here, but they also sell freshly baked cookies, Chips, and the Ginger Cooler is something i simply have to try next time. They even have Kombucha and other refreshing drinks as well. All i can is that Sprout Sandwich Shop is my go to place now for a great sandwich and the best part about the location here is that they are only a few blocks away from getting Gelato fix on at Via Gelato. Kudo's goes out to this amazing person named Steve, which is the reason why i frequent this place. He has the most amazing personality and is super cool if you ask me. His recommendations were spot on and because of his enthusiasm and friendliness was a reason for me coming back and those are traits that can't be taught. If you people here are looking for a cheap sandwich and expecting some chips and a drink to come with it, then please drive yourself to the nearest Subway or Quizno's because Sprout Sandwich Shop ain't that kind of place. Thanks again to Steve and the staff at Sprout Sandwich Shop for making a Sandwich that leaves an impression on me.

This has become one of my go-to spots when I'm craving a sandwich that I know won't disappoint. It's a tiny place off Koko head ave. You can either park in the paid lot or there's metered parking on the street available. If it's a weekend or holiday the street parking will be free but the lot is monitored 24/7. I usually get their duke and boy do they pack it with meat. So if you're not a fan of sandwiches with a lot of meat, you've been warned. I on the other hand hate a sandwich that I literally have to search for the fillings. Service is nice. It usually takes 10-15 minutes to make the sandwich. Possibly longer if they're busy so keep that in mind when you're feeding your meter. Good food and good service. All in all, five stars.

Cute little sandwich shop located in Kaimuki! My first impression of the place was: WOW THIS PLACE IS ADORABLE... but also very teeny tiny, which can leaded to uncomfortable cramp-iness. There's a great selection of sandwiches available, each offering its own special twist. It's so hard to choose just one but I settled for the Big Kah-Tuna!, a special house tuna salad sandwich. The wait was longer than expected, since they're just making sandwiches.... But I was very happy with the result so the wait was no biggie. I sipped on some detox water they had out while waiting. As for the actual eating part of this review... the sandwich was AMAZING! The ciabatta was perfect and what really sealed the deal for me was how yummy the mayo was. I recommend the Big Kah-Tuna to anyone loves tuna salad. I can't wait to come back... Fillings aren't cheaped out on. Next time, I'll try one of the turkey sandwiches. SO MUCH TURKEY IN IT! ******PS: online ordering is available. Beat the wait and order online!

Ate here 3 times in the last 10 days, i'd say I'm a fan. The sandwiches are well made, panini bread is yummy, and you can order online. So far, i've had the Floater and the Fonz, and the Fonz is a hearty sandwich with an olive tapenade that pulls the whole sandwich together. The Floater has brie and apples and turkey, and is also a great meal. The service is amazing and I really like the vibe in the place. Definitely a great lunch spot!

Tried Sprout and it was absolutely delicious. Ordered the Duke as I was sold by its pictures other Yelpers posted and it was mouth watering. The bread is not hard and won't cut your mouth like most places; it feels fresh, soft, but maintains its texture despite the veggies. The rest of the ingredients feel fresh and the meat are plenty, but not over-bearing. Overall, I highly recommend and will come back again to try the other sandwiches!

Sure my Duke *said* it had oven-roasted turkey, hickory smoked bacon, tomato, pickled red onions, and mayo...but I'm sure they lie. There's GOT to be more to it than just that. I opted to customize my sandwich--sub lettuce for sprouts for a quarter, and add avocado for two bucks...yes, it means that much to me. But even without my customizations, I'm fairly sure it would have been just as addicting as is--which leads me to believe the secret crack is those onions. Or it could be the fact that the turkey isn't served in waif-like cuts of thin sliced deli meat but a plus-sized option of the the same. Hey, I have to maintain this figure, yo. It could be that they don't throw a slice of tomato in, but something more like four. Or that they use fresh ciabatta (or multigrain if that's your thing) and toast it just enough--not so much that your sandwich makes you feel like you've had oral reconstructive surgery because the roof of your mouth is cabbage. I mean, take your pick. I could keep going but I do have other things to do today... The cherry on top? I didn't have to stand in line OR wait AT ALL! They have a cool little website (powered by Square) that allows you to order your sammy, customizations and all, and pay. The site told me lunch would be ready in 15 minutes but I also got a text message from them that told me exactly when it was ready. I could have kept the car running-- It was sitting smack dab in the middle of the counter so I just walked in and picked it up and the friendly folks wished me a great day and I was on my way. Just like that. Anyone that makes my life that easy AND makes good food gets a 5-star from me!

This is the second sandwich shop to open in Kaimuki and this one is number 2 on my list. Although prices are comparable between the two sandwich stores, Sprout is a bit more expensive and for $2, I can buy a whole avocado to put that in my sandwich. I also didn't find that I loved the sandwich options, they didn't seem very unique or interesting. I settled for the "crater", their version of a BLT. It was a-ok. I liked the butter lettuce, but found the bacon a little soft, but flavorful. I also prefer sandwiches on regular bread or French bread. I didn't really like the panini bread that spout uses and I didn't like that my hands got all floury. The service was friendly, but it took about 15 minutes for my sandwich to be made. When I only have a 30 min lunch break, it's probably not gonna work out in the future..... Sorry, the other sandwich shop is closer to my work place and a lot quicker. There are a couple tables outside and a countertop inside. There is also complimentary water flavored with fruit. When it gets busy though, there is not enough room for people to wait inside... Kinda awkward.

PROS: cheap Super friendly staff Great food Fast service They don't charge you for tax CONS: Place is small I always see this place when I'm on my way to work and it's always packed! While I was waiting for my appointment at a salon, I decided to stop by for lunch at this place. I had a veggie sandwich (The yogi) and it was very tasty! The bread was soft too!! I would definitely come back and recommend this place to my friends! :)

Spout Sandwich Shop located on Koko Head Ave in the eatery district of Waialae has sumptuous selection of sandwiches for every taste! Parking can be tough, especially during the weekend- either street or metered in the Waialae parking lot. I would suggest calling in your order if you intend to just pick up. A bit pricey for sandwiches ($9-$10 each), but let me tell you, they are FRESH! Each come with choice of wheat bread or on ciabatta, also fresh vs panini toasted On this visit: Boyfriend had the Crater: Bacon, lettuce, tomato and Chipotle mayo I had the Spoutwich: RAVE! Such a great sandwich! Vegan house-made patty with BBQ sauce, tomato, cilantro and a heafty serving of sprouts!

A quality shop with thoughtfully crafted sandwiches. The major limitation here is seating: There are maybe four stools inside, plus two or three tables out in the sun on Koko Head Ave. And there are some sketchy characters that wander the streets of Kaimuki these days (like the two obviously schizophrenic people who walked by, screaming obscenities at no one we could see, while we dined). Not Sprout's fault, but it definitely adds to the, errr, ambience if you eat there. So I'd advise takeout. Back to the food, though: My tuna sandwich was super tasty and not slathered in mayo, which was great. I'd definitely go back to try other sandwich selections. If you're a soda drinker, plan on supplying your own, because they don't serve any. A nice addition to the Waialae Avenue food scene!

I've been here twice. I had The Fonz and The Crater sandwiches. They are very yummy. The staff is always very friendly. The reason they are getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the tank tops the staff wears. I believe this practice is kind of unsanitary when making food. I worked on a cruise ship for 9 years and we weren't even allowed to wear tank tops when in line getting food in the mess hall.

I would always pass this place on my way to the freeway. Their sandwich are decently priced. Parking is the meter parking within that shopping block. Their sandwiches are about $2 more than a usual deli but they don't lack in taste one bit. You will always come back for more.

So excited to try me some sprout sandwiches. Special:pesto chicken w/veggies and garlic mayo, the fonz: prosciutto, pastrami and salami w/ yummies and the crater:smoked bacon with butter and veggies. Aaah I can't wait! We can even order online at mkt.com/sproutwich

Got the Floater and the special: a pesto chicken. Both sandwiches were great, though I didn't really like how the lettuce was all shredded. They had great customer service and our order taker was really friendly and always came to check up on us. Even though their food's a little pricy, the ciabatta bread was great and the quantity of food is good. The place is small but they have some seating inside and out.

Ever since the very first time my boyfriend and I tried Sprout Sandwich shop last summer, it quickly became one of our favorite lunch spots and we try to come here whenever we get the chance. The Sandwiches: The Sproutwich: Our favorite!! (and yes, even my meat loving boyfriend loves it!) A vegan patty served on either toasted panini or regular fresh bread. My personal favorite way to get this sandwich is on wheat bread, toasted. It comes with sprouts, tomato, lettuce, cilantro lime aioli and a yummy bbq sauce. I love this sandwich so much. It reminds me of a black bean burger, but better. All of these flavors meld together to create a perfect, sandwich bite. The Floater: This is probably our second favorite so far that we've tried. Turkey with apple, melted brie, pickled red onions, and lettuce. Who can resist a turkey sandwich with gooey, delicious brie oozing out? The crunch and sweetness of the apple adds a nice touch too. The Yogi: kale, carrots, cucumber and sprouts with a sun dried tomato spread. It might sound like a boring vegetarian sandwich, but it actually really delicious! I think it has to do with the way they cut their veggies for this sandwich, it makes it have a nice crunch. They also spread the yummy sun dried tomato spread on both sides of the bread. The Eddie Would Pull Pork Sandwich: A delicious house made pulled pork with slaw and the same bbq sauce they use on their sproutwich sandwich. I am in love with this little sandwich shop. I love the friendliness of the workers, the fresh ingredients, and the care they put into making every sandwich. Although it may be a little on the pricey side for sandwiches, I always tell myself that I am paying for delicious sandwiches like the sproutwich which is something I wouldn't be able to make myself. It also doesn't hurt that it is next to the crack seed store where I can pick up yummy treats while I wait for my order. If the line outside didn't sway you to give this sandwich shop a try, hopefully this review will! Just a heads up though - closed on Sundays.

Very friendly staff and I like that all the vegetables are fresh. Btw, lemons float and limes do not.

It seems like a lot of independent sandwich shops have opened lately, but this is the first one that really stands out to me as special. I had heard about it from friends for a while, but never made the effort to try it... I should have gone sooner cause it is amazing. Me and my buddy got two sandwiches to split so we could try both...and both were really unique and delicious. We had the Floater an the Fonz. The Floater is a delicious combination of fresh turkey, brie, apples, and red onions. The flavors are light, but full. The blend of tender meat, soft cheese, crisp fruit and toasted bread make you smile with every bite. The Fonz is the opposite in composition, with bold flavors that almost make your eyes zing wide-open. Featuring pastrami, salami, and an olive tapanade, there is an explosion of salty deliciousness that makes your mouth feel alive. The rest of the sandwiches on the menu look just as special (including a few interesting vegetarian/vegan options) , so I will be back for more!

Came here with two other Yeeps to give this recently opened sandwich shop in my old neighborhood a try. The deli is tiny with a 4-stool counter area for an eating area. It's probably set up more for takeout orders or fast eaters. Make sure you step UP when entering the restaurant! The menu boards feature sandwiches that will appeal to vegan, vegetarian and meat-eater tastes. They feature house made juices and sodas, Ono Pops, and Kombucha. The staff is friendly and attentive to your menu inquiries. There are no sides that come with your sandwich so don't expect a bag of chips or a mound of French fries. You'll get a freshly made sandwich on ciabatta or multi-grain bread..either fresh or panini-style. Our sandwiches (The Crater, The Don Patrol and The Lighthouse) all came out within a few minutes from order. The breads had good texture and weren't soggy with mayonnaise spread. -In the Crater sandwich, I liked the thick-cut bacon and how its aroma permeated the restaurant..it wasn't even my order. It was an "upscale" BLT and tasty, according to fellow Yeep. -The Lighthouse featured luscious chicken salad packed between two slices of multi-grain bread (again, not my sandwich) that was inhaled by my other eating partner...I'm taking that quick eating signaled a flavorful and satisfying sandwich. -I went "out-of-the-box" and ordered a vegetarian sandwich, The Don Patrol. Fresh thick-sliced tomatoes, mozzarella cheese disks, garlic aioli and a balsamic reduction sandwiched between crisp crust, soft-centered ciabatta roll. What? No pork or meat eating for this reviewer! It was truly flavorful, satisfying and filling. I'd like to see this place succeed and expand to a larger space. If they expand, maybe they might offer sides to compliment their fresh flavorful sandwiches.

Absolutely delicious! The bread is fresh, soft., and flavorful. I got the Floater and added sprouts......yum!! This is a must try spot. Perfect spot after KoKo Head hike.

Wow this place gets busy! I can see why though because sandwiches here are not only healthy with quality ingredients but also tasty. I had the "Floater" sandwich which was turkey slices on lettuce with melted Brie cheese and sliced apples. They are located right on Kokohead Ave and great location near a juice shop on the corner called Jewel or Juice. Great place to get your healthy fix on here! I'll def be back but will go at a time when it's not so busy.

I get sandwiches here all the time and I've tried them all except the kids sandwich and the Big Kahuna (their tuna sandwich), but it's next on my list. Even if you're a meat only sandwich eater, try the Sproutwich. It's good! Enjoy. Support a great shop, friendly staff, great food, and a local business.

Let me tell you, these sandwiches are to die for!! My personal favorite is the sprout sandwich which has a vegan patty seasoned with bbq! I go to sprout on a weekly basis now (:

Yummy and healthy sandwiches. Great for take out, as limited tables, but if you hang out a bit, tables will open. Couldn't decide what to get...ended up with SPROUTWICH. Very happy with my choice!

Never would miss cheap ass over here imagine paying $10 for a sandwich. Guess it looks like this though. Their selection of vegan and vegetarian friendly sandwiches make healthy choices incredibly easy, and the ones with meat look divine as well. Each sandwich comes with a choice of whole wheat bread or ciabatta, toasted or not toasted. I've only had the Sproutwich the couple times I've come because it's filling, vegan, warm, and has lots of sprouts. I like the house made patty. However, it is on the mushy side and doesn't have much texture to it. I don't mind, but if you like patties with a firm and held together texture this one will feel like baby food for you. They're primarily take out with only a few seats at a small counter and a couple chairs outside with no AC inside. They also sell juices, kombucha, etc. I only wish the sandwiches came with more exciting vegetables in them. For a healthy concept, lettuce and tomatoes aren't too satisfying for veggies. But it's a minor thing. When I got avocados in mine, they barely put any in which made me sad... I love my avo. I'll keep coming because it's simple, convenient for Kaimuki/Palolo people, and light.

This place is cute and small with nice employees. There are like 8 sandwich choices yet I have only had the duke with chipotle mayo instead of house mayo. Really delicious! One of my new favorite sandwich shops

Their vegetarian sandwich, the sproutwich, is one of the best I've had. Super tasty and all their sandwiches are extremely filling. They are massive and dense and worth the extra couple of dollars you spend. I also love the big kahuna, their tuna sandwich. The staff is also great, great customer service! My favorite takeout sandwich shop!

Awesome, fresh, delicious, made to order deli sandwiches (a rarity on the island). Service is fast and friendly. I will definitely be back. Mostly metered parking (bring coins). Very limited seating (take out will work best).

I've been here about 5 times since summer 2014 and have had a different sandwich each time. It's consistently one of the best sandwich places and is the standard my friends and I use to evaluate other sandwich shops. "Is it better than sprout?"- so far the answer has always been no. Pros: Sandwiches are always moist and tasty, people are always friendly, even if I'm in a bad mood, and the prices are reasonable. Cons: Limited free parking, seating can be hard to come by sometimes.

  • Myrtle B.

I've only been here once and only had the Floater sandwich, but I'm definitely coming back. The Floater has turkey, melted Brie, butter lettuce (not the lowly iceberg), sliced apples, and pickled onions. Yes, pickled. onions. Those babies are what really makes this 'wich pop! The only downside is the lack of seating, but hey, that's not stopping me from getting take out! I will definitely be back for more. If you use card to pay, bring a little cash with you to tip those hard, hard workers. Sprout, if you read this, set up your Square so we can tip you and all the delicious work you do!

With three sandwich shops all within 2 minutes walk from each other, its quite difficult to figure where you want to eat if you want a simple lunch. Sprout, the newest sandwich shop in Kaimuki seeks to win this battle with their own sandwich creations. The three choices currently are Via Gelato, Earl Sandwich, and Sprout. All three places are similarly priced and take credit card. Being the first day of opening, I decided I'll try them out. Small joint where the kitchen is as big as the rest of the area. Two seats to dine in, that's it. Not somewhere you'd want to eat in unless you there is space. My order was the first item on the menu, the Duke. At $9.50 it may sound steep. This is a turkey BLT sandwich with pickled red onion and mayo. I opted to have them toast the bread panini style. Wait: 10 minutes. So how does it taste? It wasn't game changing nor unique. It is a play on the classic turkey BLT. The bacon is always delicious and totally saved the sandwich from me seeing it "its fresh, its good, but meh". If turkey BLT was their vision of the sandwich, this is one of the best turkey BLT's out there. The freshness of ingredients is obvious from the first bite. The turkey meat is moist and pretty good. How does it compare? As I've said before, the Duke sandwich is pretty much a mastery of the turkey BLT. Although their creations are not completely unique like Earl Sandwich's selections are, it does hold its own. Sandwiches here are in the smaller side but that seems like the trend now. The turkey meat is delicious and so was the bacon.

My bf and I have been coming here once a week on Saturday, which we have renamed as Sprouts Saturday. I have tried several of their sandwiches, such as the Fonz, Duke, Floater and the Sproutwich, I am not a vegan or a vegetarian but I do appreciate a meatless meal once in awhile. If you're one of those that like to dabble with vegetarian meals, try their Sproutwich, So damn good!!! I get it without the BBQ sauce and I add cheese. YUMMM!!! I love Sprouts so much if it was a human I might have to cheat on my bf. Sorry pumps.

It was my first time here! I always miss them on there off hours so I finally got to go when they were open:) I got the special, a pesto chicken, salad in a panini! Suuuuper good. Like, just. Really tasty. Usually something with pesto is too strong and all that but it had lettuce and a hint of lime and little mayo with the chicken shredded. It was just really good:) i only gave it a four because I have yet to try all the other sandwiches! I can also imagine having like smoothie choices to top it off with the sandwiches! I actually didn't check if they had any? Because they were a bit busy! And it's a small area to chill on the inside. There is a few tables outside to eat though. Check them out, it's a quality local sandwich place!

Amazing sandwiches. We got the fonze and no comply. They were Amazing. It was really hard to chose because they all looked really good! They should have a mini sampler platter! Cute little shop. When you check in on yelp they give u a free bag of chips!

I would always pass this place on my way to the freeway. Their sandwich are decently priced. Parking is the meter parking within that shopping block. Their sandwiches are about $2 more than a usual deli but they don't lack in taste one bit. You will always come back for more.

Just looking for a quick lunch and decided to try sprouts... It was hard to decide what sandwich to try first... They all looked so tempting.. I opted for the Fonz and I was not disappointed.. Definitely be back to try the other varieties of sandwich fresh locally sourced food is always the best

Loved the atmosphere and Danielle gave amazing customer service. With so many sandwich choices I will have to stop by every time I'm in the area. You won't be disappointed!

Heard about these guys for a bit and finally got a chance to try them. Went with the Duke and a Waiola coconut water. Super good combo! Fresh ingredients, tasty, da kine. Good job Sprout!

    (5)
  • Kimber B.

So good! Been three times. Every time is great! Nothing like it here on the island. I have eaten the BLT (under a different name) each time. The chipotle mayo makes it unlike any other BLT!

  • Leeks K.

  • Ka'eo G.

    (5)
  • Crissy K.

  • David B.

The Sproutwich (vegan patty sandwich) was AMAZING! Lemonade was good too. Right next to awesome old crack seed store.
