We needed a quick hit breakfast, and this place hit the spot. We tried 3 items on the Breakfast menu, Meatlovers Omelette(egg white only), French Toast made with sweet bread, and their fried rice. Meatlovers Omelette was loaded with lots of meat, and cheese and was exactly what anyone that loves a hearty protein filled breakfast would want. French Toast was savoury, and fantastic value as you get 2 eggs and meat. Fried Rice was the only thing our toddler would eat, and it was quite tasty. We spent $25 for 3 of us to eat full meals that left us ready to hit the beach! They also were playing really good music while we were there :)

If you are choosing omelette and pancakes, I would go to iHop. Had meat omelette and banana & strawberry pancake to share. It was ok for $19, nothing special, as compared to dinner.

Went to the restaurant on my first night in Hawaii. Mainly because it was on the way back to the hotel and we were given a flyer. Ordered the garlic shrimp. $17 The portion was very small and my stomach was not so happy after eating it. It has a sign on the wall as if the Food Network had recommended them, I wondered how long ago they had visited or if it was even true. Would not recommend or go there again. Service was ok. Atmosphere seemed seedy. Tables sticky.

My boyfriend and I came here on our first full day in Waikiki. We actually ended up here because we could find the musubi placed that I wanted to go to. Actually turned out to be a decent decision. I ordered the strawberry kiwi pancakes with Portuguese sausage and my boyfriend ordered steak and eggs. While there wasn't any line to order, there was quite some time before our food was actually ready. Not an issue, since there were fresh preparing the food for everyone who had previously ordered. The only issue with the food that I had was that somehow at 8 am they were already out of strawberries, not a big deal since I was able to substitute with blueberries. I guess you have to get there really early to get strawberries. I couldn't tell you how my boyfriend's breakfast tasted...he finished everything before I'd manage more than 5 bites of my pancakes. Service was decent considering the number or orders; and that the cashiers were also did all food prep/cooking. Be aware that this is very much a hole-in-the-wall place with very cramped and limited seating. We ended up in this half booth that looked like it was shoved into the free space between a full-sized booth and the wall. Barely enough room for our knees, much less our food. Not a bad place to eat, but there were other places that we ended up enjoying much more. If you are in Waikiki for more than a few days worth a shot.

Decided to try this joint out after receiving a flyer and it was also conveniently located across from our hotel. We walked in...no greetings. We proceeded to the cashier to check out the menu and after standing around for a minute, we were told that someone would be right with us. A couple minutes later someone appeared to take our order. There were 3 women behind the counter but only one was cooking and the other 2 appeared to just be hanging around. I am only stating what we observed as we watched them for at least 25 minutes waiting for our food. Our food eventually came out, and it was just OK... not anything I would want to pay $16 for again. I had the Macadamia Nut Pancakes with bacon and an egg. The pancakes were a disappointment, there wasn't much macadamia nuts. Overall, this was just a mediocore meal and dining experience.

Not my first choice for a quick lunch in Waikiki.... The food is just... ok. You order at the counter and pick up your food when it's ready. They do have an open kitchen so you can see while they are cooking your steaks/shrimps whatever. I've tried the loco moco, the steak and shrimp, and the regular shrimp plate. Nothing is really amazing. I don't like the flavoring of the shrimp and the steak is just your regular food court style steak. Loco moco is the only thing I'd reallly recommend here. Also, it doesn't really mean much to me that they were featured on the food channel cuz the show that they were on was about how they managed the restaurant poorly. It's not like they were on Man vs. Food or something. I'd say if you were really hungry and were passing by the restaurant, it's an ok spot to eat. But otherwise I'd go somewhere else for my meal.

Order at the counter and pick up type of place. Good was subpar, even though they promote they were on the food network. Ordered the 50/50 loco moco and it was ok. Nothing to write home about. We also got the local boy which was a egg omelette with Portuguese sausage and cheese. Not too bad, there was a lot of cheese and sausage in it, so in general its a good meal. Oh, for some reason they didn't have any plastic knives. The patty in the loco moco was a bit hard to eat as it was a big patty and only had a spoon and fork to cut through the thick meat. Unfortunately, had to re-rate based off the fact I walked back in to get something and saw one of the cooks sneeze next to the pan she was cooking with. By all means, it wasn't intentional but didn't make feel too great about what I just ate.

Woke up late and needed to eat right away. Most places had a huge line and passed a guy that said this place was a local spot featured on the food network with no wait. Apparently This place was featured on mystery diners so it's not a Triple D type thing. Food was okay. Ordered the 50/50 loco moco and the local boy omelette. The omelette had Portuguese sausage, onions, and cheese. After eating my girlfriend went in to get a drink and saw one of the cooks sneeze close to the food she was preparing. She continued cooking and then looked around to see if anyone saw her. When she saw my GF staring at her in shock she realized the right thing to do would be to toss it out (which she did). It's not terrible that she sneezed while cooking but that she was going to serve food that possibly had germs on them until she was noticed by a customer. Because of this being a sanitary thing, I will not be back. The food wasn't good enough to risk getting sick while on vacation. Try at your own peril.

Having been in Hawaii a week I could not stop coming back for the food and the great laughs with staff. Derrick and Jamal were hilarious entertainment for a loan wanderer in Waikiki. Try the Fyre wings and the bacon Loco Moco as they were absolutely awesome!

Only had a beer after a flyer was given to me. Place was pretty run down and we walked in and I wasn't comfortable eating there after seeing it. Guys were nice, beer was nice and cold, but it's a pretty run down place.

Nice little hole in the wall. We had breakfast which was very good. The staff was very friendly. We will be back for another breakfast during our vacation. Mahalo!

We were approached on the street with a flyer and de ided to give it a try, since everything in Hawaii is so expensive. Well we found a goldmine. Great food.. fresh cooked to order.. try the garlic shrimp or burger.. to die for..

  • Xavier W.

Omelettes - fine. Hard to screw up breakfast. Loud music in a dive-bar atmosphere at 9am. Don't take the kids. - no table service but still cost $30 for two of us. Go here because you do not want to wait in line. Do not go here for the food or the atmosphere...

    (2)
  • Trish Q.

$10 for a sad omelette with veggies just tossed in the middle. Bland food, piping hot tongue-burning coffee. Additional star for having outdoor seats though. Otherwise, not worth coming back to. Food network feature is plasted everywhere but that's just deceiving. Cold service from staff and everything is self-service.

  • J P.

The food is okay and pricey for 'mom and pop' store. The good thing is the big portion plate that can fill up stomach real good It's located on the small street & next to surf board shop. It's featured in 'Mystery Dinners' on Food Network, not for the food feature but due to the restaurant lost sales. It has bar and cocktail around $7 For garlic shrimps and steaks is $16 & Loco Moco $11. Will I come back again? No, I rather go to other place that has great view on the beach and better taste

    (1)
  • Ayla P.

The best part about this place is that they were on Food Network's show about trying to fix nasty restaurants that are going under. So they took this 15 minutes of fame and decided to play the episode on repeat on their big screen TV. Seriously... why do you want to inform all your clients that your restaurant was gross. The food was alright. We had the French Toast, a pancake, and the Loco moco.

  • Sam M.

This is a great place for a good burger and garlic fries. The staff was friendly and cheerful.

    (5)
  • Brandi T.

The food was delicious! I had the garlic shrimp and chicken that comes with a salad and it was perfect. My sister had the 50/50 burger and it was good as well. I'd definitely come back after a long day at the beach!

  • John B.

Delicious. Creative. One block back from Waikiki.. Try the 50/50 Loki or Steak and eggs.. Fried rice is like Aunties (so ono), and staff has Always been very friendly.. For T below, it's Hawaii.. humid, hot, wonderful! This place is a walk up and very busy..take off your crown look at the menu, order, and say thank you for the delicious food..

They have good steak. Don't forget the A1 steak sauce. This location has free water. This location sells cheeseburgers. This location except all major credit cards. This location has outdoor and indoor seating. This location has a Facebook page.

  • Nestor A.

Food was good. Tasted great. But... Lady working at cashier struggled to take our order. Had to repeat it several times and still didn't understand. Asked for nothing on my burger and questioned how we wanted the egg cooked on it and if we wanted cheese. Got the order and everything was on it. Everything. Returned the order expecting a new one but all that was done was the chef scraping off the unwanted ingredients. Therefore, there was still cheese and lots of sauce all over the burger. Could've done it by myself. Not happy. Luckily the food tasted pretty good but it was still pricey. Will probably not come back again.

    (2)
  • Chris K.

Not too bad at all My burger was the highlight but was hoping some of the other dishes would bring more to the table. Steak was not super flavorful and a bit on the dry side. Shrimp was not great. I think it's probably got a place in someone's heart but just not mine. Video that's playing is pretty interesting to watch for sure.

  • Danielle H.

Ordered the steak and shrimp plate - came with salad and brown rice. Rice was over cooked and terrible. Shrimp was ok, hot and buttery. Steak was ok - small portion for a plate that's almost $20. The 50/50 burger with garlic fries was much better. Burger was flavorful and juicy, bun was Hawaiian bread very soft and delicious. Garlic fries were cooked nicely and tasted great. Would go again for a burger, nothing else.

  • Rose L.

Its okay, nothing more. I think it cost too much, compared to the quality, but depends on what you compare with. I will not eat here again, but its ok if you just need some lunch. Big portions.

  • Chelsea K.

50-50 loco moco is my new favorite loco moco. Mixing bacon and hamburger meat? Genius. The place itself only has outdoor seating which is okay but not my favorite. But I am not complaining, the food was so good i didn't even care. Husband had the 50-50 burger and he really liked it too. Overall, atmosphere is really casual but the food is excellent.

  • Sally V.

Came here after the line at eggs n things was too long to wait in. Found this lil gem on yelp. It is small and stuffy inside, but almost all small joints in Hawaii are stuffy and have limited seating! They food is great--freshly made-- & the employees are pretty friendly. But cuz the food is fresh, you will have to wait a bit. So if your looking to grab food to go quickly, this is not the place for you! Oh, I also love how the coffee is out for self service!

Loco Moco was amazing.. Kids were stuffed and atmosphere was great! Off the beaten path, but the best food we have had this far!

Came here for a late night dinner. Had a #14 steak and fish. Cooked perfectly and served in a timely manner. Wasn't busy when we walked in but quickly filled up as we are. Atmosphere is pleasant and kick back. Also had a few drinks and they were also very good. Would return for sure!

This place has the best burgers. They taste just like home Fresh grilled burgers. Better than Teddys or any other around. Garlic fries are so good!!!

  • Tanya R.

Great food, price, portions, and friendly staff! Just a few negative comments (not food related): 1. Girl be using a mop to clean their floors. Seeing her swish around all this mud and thinking the floors are clean worries me. 2. They play an episode of Mystery Diners on repeat on their TV because their restaurant is on it. I know they do it for publicity and maybe to be funny, but seeing how the owner hires a bunch of morons is off putting. 3. They don't have a restroom.

    (4)
  • Asif K.

We ordered shrimp and fish which came with side salad. Rice tasted different but shrimp and fish was good. Food was good people were friendly but place may need a little makeover.

  • Alan K.

Great little spot just off the beach where you can get some delicious and cheap surf and turf (and adult beverages) in a casual atmosphere. The butter garlic shrimp was killer, and I don't usually get very excited about shrimp. The steak is a cheap cut but is flavorful. Considering you also get a couple scoops of rice and a nice little side salad, you can't do much better for about $15. On top of the great food, the service was good. The cook was doing it all--making our food, mixing and serving our drinks, and also chatting with us a bit. I was really impressed at his multitasking capability. I would have loved to try breakfast and some other dishes here but didn't have enough time. Definitely a place I'll come back to on my next visit to Honolulu!

I was in the area, so I was looking for a place to eat breakfast. I landed upon this place based on location and Yelp reviews. I ordered an omelet which reminded me of the kind of eggs they serve at McDonald's. The potatoes that came with it didn't taste great. I was also able to eat some french toast, which was ok, but nothing really special. I don't think I'll be going back any time soon.

  • Nia R.

This little hole in the wall was awesome. We ordered the loco moco with fried rice. It was so delicious and the portions were large. We also got the banana Mac pancakes, meat lovers omelette and veggie omelette. We finished everything! Definitely recommend this place if you want to grab food and take it to the beach because all the orders come in Togo containers. This place didn't disappoint.

    (4)
  • Ananya M.

Not too much to say about this place. Their garlic butter sauce is delicious and went well with the shrimp and the chicken. Teriyaki chicken was also solid. Nice location near the beach with outdoor seating. Makes for a great quick meal stop before hitting the waves!

  • Alejandra J.

The concept is great. Almost a grill, surf & turf bar. Not a professional atmosphere and very unfinished. We all got raw shrimp. I ordered the steak and garlic shrimp. It came alongside a salad (mixed greens right out of the bag) and rice of your choice. Steak was good and cooked to perfect temp, but very basic and the jumbo shrimp looked perfect until I bit into it and noticed it was raw (same as everyone else at my table). There is something about this place that is very basic, but it might have the potential with these ingredients to live up to its high price point with the right cooks and team.

Stopped in after a late night flight from LA. The guys working at the restaurant were very helpful when it came to deciding what to get. I ended up ordering the 50/50 bacon locomoco which was a healthy portion served with a fried egg on top . It was delicious and definitely hit the spot after hours without eating. Definitely will eat there again.

As seen on food network's mystery diner, we stumbled upon this place walking by near our hotel. Place had burgers and some local dishes like loco moco. We had a burger, loco moco, steak with rice and salad. Was ok. Probably better is their bar.

    (3)
  • Narine G.

Came here for dinner as the location was half a mile from the hotel. Had the chicken and shrimp combo with rice and salad. The salad was my favorite part of the meal. The shrimp was okay compared to everywhere else located on the island. I was not fond of the chicken. At all. There was more skin and fat than actual chicken. Maybe should've came here for breakfast instead.

  • Cassy R.

This place gets two stars for good service but otherwise the food sucks. I don't know how this place got over 3 stars. The French toast tastes like regular Texas toast French toast not Hawaiian sweet bread. It's dry. My eggs tasted like seafood. Bacon was good. My boyfriend had the 50/50 loco moco (his 4th this trip) and he said it was bland. I tried the rice with gravy and it tasted like dirt to me. He said the patty was okay. They also serve you food in styrofoam which is a really shitty thing to do for the environment. I will never come back. Bleck

Delicious 50/50 cheeseburger and Loco Moco. Don't be discouraged by its location or lack of seating - the food is worth it.

  • David A.

Very pricey drinks but phenomenal food. There is something about marinating meat for days then grilling it as hot as you can that simply works. This place has it down to a science. The steak, chicken, and shrimp along with the rice were all perfectly seasoned and beautifully cooked. The staff here is also friendly and seem to take a lot of pride in their work.

First restaurant we went to in Honolulu. Loco moco was awesome and I got the fish if the day mahi mahi. Prices are not too bad and food was great! My tai was alright too!

My boyfriend brought me here because he wanted to introduce me to his beloved Blazing Steaks only to find out they were no longer there but replaced by Shore Fyre instead. We had just came from the airport and were hungry after our flight so since we were there, we decided to give it a try. My heart hurt for my boyfriend's sad face and depressed mood over missing his Blazing Steaks. Anyway. He ordered steak and garlic shrimp which was just... meh. Nothing to rave about. I ordered the loco moco, which was okay, but my rice was overcooked. The staff seem young, and the tables were not wiped down so I wasn't too impressed by the lack of cleanliness. The garbage was literally overflowing. Another customer before me just stacked his empty styrafoam containers on the piled up trash. I couldn't even put my trash in the garbage can and was told by an employee just to place it on the top. Hmm... I'll pass on coming back here again.

Steak/garlic shrimp: yikes! My shrimp was limp and slimey. The steak was average. Hi-steaks in the food pantry is way better and cheaper. Acai bowl: decent, strawberries/banana/blueberries, large portion. Their protein should be avoided. It's not cool to serve undercooked or bad seafood.

Found this place for breakfast while on vacation. Tiny little hole in the wall, but the food was really good. Try the 50/50 loco moco. The gravy is killer. Wife and son loved the pancakes and French toast. Definitely worth a try if you're staying in Waikiki.

    (4)
  • Marie C.

Service was friendly. The location is kind of hidden, but it's sort of neat. Enjoyed the outdoor seating area. We tried 50/50 bacon loco moco & traditional loco moco. The patties were not good meat. The rice & gravy were good. They do give you a lot of food!

    (3)
  • Minjoo R.

The food was delicious. I ordered steak and garlic shrimp, my brother ordered the bacon loco moco, and we also got a garlic chicken. The portions are large and definitely give you the bang for your buck! Eat outside because it's really hot inside. Great place for a late night meal.

    (4)
  • Amanda C.

Great food. Good service. I had the garlic shrimp plate which definitely satisfied my craving for the north shore shrimp trucks. The portions were big and service was fast. I don't mind having my food in a styrofoam plate since they're pretty common all over the island. I would definitely come back!

Good value for awesome food. The fried rice was the surprise star of our breakfast. Macadamia pancakes were on point and the service was outstanding. Will definitely head back to this small not so secret spot.

  • Gregory D.

The food was above average, but the drinks were out of this world. The drinks are all made from scratch with fresh ingredients. I asked the bartender what I should have. He told me a Mai Tai, of course. This is the Trader Vic original recipe. I am not a fan of Mai Tai's, but these were awesome. I will never drink another Mai Tai again unless it the original Trader Vic recipe. Also, make sure you try the Lava Rocks(Bacardi, banana, coconut creme, pineapple, and strawberries), delish.

I visited Shorefyre restaurant this morning with a friend. The pictures on Yelp sold me on this place. The restaurant has a very casual atmosphere. Customers place their orders at the counter. The food is served in Styrofoam boxes. I ordered the sweet bread french toast with bacon and scrambled eggs. My friend ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. The food was brought to our table in about 10 minutes. The french toast was amazing. The bacon was also cooked to perfection. I also recommend the Hawaiian Sun beverages at the counter. They have a pretty high sugar and calorie count, so 1 serving is all I would choose.

  • Tere P.

I would have given this place 4 stars if it weren't for the fact that my eggs were not made the way I liked them. The macadamia nut banana pancakes were good. My only question was the prep. I'm not here to tell anyone how to cook (I used to be a short order cook), but there's no need to soak the grill in oil in order to cook pancakes. But they were good. The place seems like it could run with a little more order. It was sort of like controlled chaos. There was no coffee ready when I placed my order, and there was a trash can that was in desperate need of emptying directly where everyone was in line to place their order. I would've emptied it myself if I thought a trash bag was nearby. They just seemed undermanned during the breakfast hour. My Portuguese sausage was tasty, and the coffee was nice and hot, just like I like it when I finally got a cup. I'm in Hawaii for a month and I will be back to try the loco moco. It looked really good. It's good food for a good price. Especially in Waikiki Beach. Give it a try!

Was excited to check this place out because of all the great reviews but i was disappointed. The service was god awful- the staff seemed irritated with me from the moment we walked in. When asking about the menu or suggestions the woman pointed to a sign with no descriptions. I felt hurried so my boyfriend and i picked the 50/50 and the regular burger. We sat outside because it was ridiculously muggy and hot in the dining area. Had to keep walking back in and out to see if the food was ready, and when i did, all of the staff looked at me as if i had 3 heads. When they finally called my name i couldnt hear it while sitting outside, instead of delivering the food i just had to keep getting up and down. The 50/50 is the reason i gave this rating any stars at all. It was much better than the standard burger my boyfriend got, which ended up making him feel ill on our way back to the hotel. The garlic fries were also good. Working in the restaurant industry i know how important customer service is in order to create an enjoyable dining experience. So with that, and the boring, bland cheeseburger, this place barely deserves two stars.

My husband and I came here for breakfast and had the Banana Mac Nut Pancakes which comes with two eggs and a choice of meat ($12.95) & the Fried Rice 50/50 Bacon Loco Moco ($13.95). Both were very good and came as large portions! The Banana Mac Nut Pancakes are packed with flavor and when paired with their coconut syrup are just a perfect way to start your day. The Loco Moco had a generous serving of gravy that gave the Fried Rice a little extra yum! I would definitely come back for breakfast here!

Service is OK. Seems like this is a place where the employees just talk to each other and have fun, no really working. Food is decent. Had the Garlic shrimp and moco loco.

Just a special place here in Waiks that helps make Hawai'i home for me. I go every couple weeks to grab a burger and some fries or sit at the bar, talk story and have a drink, yea. If I have to wait a few minutes - heck, ainokea. Supposed to be slow, bra. Island time. And price no problem. Da people, da food, da styrofoam food containers, da cooks, da hole-in-da-wall joint, -- the island life is da best!

Really great food, the place is a little hidden but once you find it you won't be able to forget it. I was so satisfied with my food and the overall atmosphere is really laid back and chill. I got the steak mushroom with the salad and brown rice. It was great! Overall, such a great place to have dinner our last night in Honolulu.

A guy was hawking this restaurant along the beach. He told us we wouldn't be disappointed and guess what...we weren't. We split the steak and garlic shrimp. Great! Meat was tender and flavorful and the garlic shrimp and fried rice was fantastic!! The prices were resonable (cheap compared to other places around here )

I love this place. We had the 50-50 burger and the acai bowl. They were AMAZING! Great meal after a surf and now ready to take a nap. Will try their breakfast as it looks really good too. Food-10 Quality-10 Service-10

This is one of the few times Yelp has utterly failed me. I really hope that my experience here was a fluke, and that others' experience has been better than mine. We saw this place when my boyfriend and I were headed to Me's BBQ (with the recommendation of yelp reviews about that place) and the menu items looked really delicious. Me, with my trusty Yelp app, looked this place up and saw the great reviews, so we decided to stop by the day after. I rarely give out one star reviews, but this place was a cluster...ball of bad service. Like what Laila R. said, I was really disappointed given the price of the food at this location. It's freaking 30 dollars between two people for a plate lunch. Like seriously? Portions are big enough but not $30 worth. The loco moco plate is meat with a serious helping of gravy over rice, and my steak and shrimp had 6 shrimp & 6 pieces of thinly sliced, overcooked, pieces of steak. I don't see why people were raving about it. I ended up eating my boyfriend's gravy covered rice because I was sick of my food after eating all the shrimp and steak; my rice wasn't even worth it. I'm okay with less chill out hometown-y ambiance, but for the price at which the food was at, there wasn't even air conditioning, nor was service okay. It was sweltering hot inside (the grill is right behind the counter), so we had to eat outside, which wasn't exactly clean (we cleaned the table ourselves prior to eating). Completely unacceptable; I highly doubt this place would pass a food inspection. Service was also something to complain about. We ordered two fountain drinks, and my boyfriend's soda was pretty much water. The girl at the counter realized halfway into mine that it was pretty much clear, and changed the syrup halfway. She didn't offer to exchange my boyfriend's drink, and my boyfriend isn't a confrontational person, but it was definitely not good service. Food took a while to come out, and overall, service wasn't something to rave about, especially for the price of food. Big disappointment in Waikiki, go to Hula Grill for decent priced Loco Moco instead. Service there is excellent. tl;dr underwhelming despite prior good reviews. Service was terrible, place was dirty, food was too expensive for what it actually was. Just skip.

Its a small underground place, literally. The place really gives you the feel of being in Hawaii. The prices are reasonable & the breakfast was really good. Very fast service! I wanted to try the lunch specials but we was there too early. We ordered banana nut pancakes which came out fluffy & huge & the loco moco, the gravy was good. Delicious on both plates. The pancakes also came with two eggs & sausages.

Amazing steak plate. Amazing shrimp plate!! The burgers here are to die for. They mix bacon inside the hamburger meat. It is ono!!! There is also a full bar with happy hour specials. Perfect place to grab a bite after a long day on Waikiki Beach. The steak & shrimp plate here really hits the spot. This is a great find for Waikiki. If you are looking for value and delicious meal in the middle of waikiki, this is it!! It is located behind the Grand Hyatt hotel on Koa ave, below the mexican restaurant. Great breakfast here as well, and the acai bowl is excellent.

The food is to die for..customer service is on point, always smiling and greeting us with so much aloha and the service was fast..I don't understand what people are saying about the this place it's a good place to eat and everyone is always so awesome I'll definitely return and I will make sure my friends and family that visit knows about this place

We saw this place on Mystery Diners and the food looked good. So we decided to try it out. It's a little hole in the wall kitty corner to the Hyatt. Very laid back and the staff was very polite. We tried the 50/50 loco moco (loco moco with fried rice). It took 25 mins to get our plate, I think they were out of fried rice and had to make more. Nice gravy. The fried rice was average. The burger was ok. The egg was ....... Odd. There was almost no yolk. Overall it was a little sweet. It not "drive to Waikiki, find parking, pay $13 for loco moco" good. If you're already here, then it's good beach food.

Advertised for being on the food network, which it was, but not for food... For catching misbehaving employees. I walked in and was immediately sketched out about eating there. My sis talked me into giving a try. Very fast food, but run down. Lady didn't bring us our food, but stood half way out of the counter and said, "it's ready." I think everything is precooked... Garlic shrimp wasn't garlic shrimp, but just wet shrimp, meat was meh... Asked for some pink, didn't get that. Place was just weird with kids running behind counters and making whatever they were making.

Shore Fyre is below ground, next to a surf shop. There is indoor and outdoor seating. As we entered, my husband noted many customers who looked like they were waiting. We ordered and joined the waiting game. You certainly feel like you're in a tropical environment. There are some very noisy birds overhead. Our food arrived about 20 minutes after we ordered and we dive in. Everything was prepared as ordered. The sausage was bland and greasy, the Portuguese sausage was more flavorful but still greasy. The blueberry banana French toast was tasty as were the strawberry kiwi pancakes. Not a bad place, close to the beach and a filling portion. For the price, a better meal could be had another block away.

Close to our hotel and friendly service. The food was really good and not too pricey. Very very good mai tai's. Only draw back was the tiny stuffy inside and kind of dirty outdoor table

  • Mark S.

It was convenient, but don't think I would go back. I had the 50/50 burger but it wasn't tasty. I'd say just add bacon vs mixing it together. But maybe it's just me. Also the tables weren't very cleaned off, the condiments were lacking. The cashier wasn't outgoing... He was preoccupied vs making the customer feel important.

Dirty place. Drug addicts hanging out in front all night. Avoid. The food is overpriced, but it's Waikiki, so go figure. Taste wise, the food is avg or below. I gave them a few chances (3) and I won't ever be back.

Great stop, just a block of the beach strip of Waikiki.. My burger was phenomenal, milkshake was delicious. My gf ordered the burger bowl that comes with an egg served on a bed of rice, an interesting dish.. Also, they have a full bar with plenty of great drinks.. I tried my gfs Bloody Mary and it was spicy and tasty as well, infused with siracha and wasabi.

I must say the Loco Moco was really good! I guess they can expand the place just to accomodate more people. But then again, most people buy their food and they eat by the beach; like I did. So it's all good. Will definitely come back!

  • Marina D.

A-OK. The food was A-OK, but the guys working there were nice. I have to agree with other reviews that say this place is a little too laid back for me. Their pancakes were a little on the raw side, but still pretty good. Portions were generous.

Great breakfast, super affordable. Had the French toast which was really delicious and my partner had 2 eggs any way and both of our plates were clean.

Cool "hole-in-the-wall" atmosphere. Enjoyed the (loud) reggae music. Avoid the mushy breakfast potatoes. Meat Lovers omelette was mediocre, at best. 2 and 1/2 stars.

  • Heather S.

Wow! I was looking for a hearty meal and I found it! This is definitely a hole in the wall but well-known from its wonderful food and appearance on Food Network. ShoreFire's food and friendly staff exceeded all expectations. I had the Strawberry Kiwi Pancakes with two eggs and Portuguese sausage. I couldn't finish it. And I tried. You'll definitely need to wait 30 minutes before swimming!

Friendly staff, good food, and inexpensive prices. Can't go wrong with this hidden gem. Got to try this spot if you're in the area. Got the Teri Chicken. MmMMmmm. Btw, they were featured on Food Network. No wonder

Went for breakfast. Got the banana nut pancakes with sausage links and wife got eggs, sausage and potatoes. Both sucked. I really don't know how this place has 4 stars or was on the food network. I should've just gone back to surf lanai or someplace closer to the beach. Really disappointing

  • Richard C.

Wow, the breakfast here was awesome, the best we have had in Waikiki thus far. We are going to eat here for breakfast the rest of our stay. We had Banana Mac Nut Pancakes, and the Portuguese sausage it was incredible and the staff was great. We have been to many local places and some very high-end and this place is the best by far. Also it is good to help the local community, too many high-end corporate shops moving in now; they are killing what makes Honolulu so special. We all need to support the local business and people.

  • Kimberly G.

Wow. We were looking for a good place for breakfast and it just so happened someone was handing out flyers on the street for this place. We went to check it out and man it was great. Had the banana macadamia nut pancakes, scrambled eggs, and sausage and it was all good. Definitely recommend at least one trip over here but it's very busy and you will be waiting 15-20 minutes or more at times for your food.

This place is pretty quick with service. A little hole in the wall establishment. Been eating here since it was Blazzin Steak-pretty much the same as before but with a newly painted interior and with an added bar. Fyi: the music is extremely loud in here, and Im partially deaf in both ears. Oh yea, before they usually asked what salad dressing you wanted ranch or italian, the guy taking the order didnt ask, and they just gave me italian, which is fine by me, cuz I hate ranch, but let it be known what salad dressing you prefer

Pretty solid meal for the price. I wish they had mac salad though. The steak was pretty good, peppery and cooked just right.

The 50/50 moco loco is one of my all time fav meals. Shared one with my wife and it was more then enough for both of us. The bacon adds a crispy kick that will make you wish you lived in Hawaii. We Been wanting to travel back to Oahu from the Bay Area just to get another. The rest of the menu looked very good as well.

The food at shorefyre is good (so I will give the place three stars), but not good enough to return, since the customer service is very lacking. No friendly greeting, no smiles or explanation of the menu.

We visited this establishment about 2 weeks ago around lunch time. Only reason we even bothered was because of the Yelp reviews. At first sight it seems one of those hole in the wall joints, but serves great food, unfortunately this place was a disappointment. I'm sorry I know it's in Waikiki and all, but at least if you're gonna have someone cooking why not choose someone more presentable with good hygiene. I don't want to see ass hanging out and the cook using paper napkins to soak the sweat from her arm pits right before she proceeds to cook my burger. Im sorry but I will not go back to this place or recommend it.

This is a hidden gem in the crown of Waikiki. It's nearby the main road on Koa avenue and the price and food are great. Food prices range between 10-13 bucks while the food is just amazing. We found this place because someone was handling fliers on the main strip on Waikiki beach. The steak and chicken combo is a must, it comes with salad too. The service is excellent! I will certainly eat here with my family more times before we head off to California.

Awesome. Stopped in and got the 50/50. Good food, good price. They even get you garlic sauce from the garlic butter shrimp over your fries. Dope

Not knowing what to eat and not wanting to wait for a table and be seated etc cause I was starving, I stumbled upon this little hole in the wall place showed a one $ sign on Yelp and the reviews were great, so I gave it a try. I was a little annoyed that I order 3 plates and 1 drink at a hole in the wall dive for $50.00 then the meal came and the portions were just meh! not tiny but they could have been larger for the price. it was the steak with 6 shrimp two ice cream scoops of rice and a liitle bit of salad that was more garnish than a side. (I'm from L.A. that's not a huge portion to me) I have to admit the flavor of the steak was very good it was tender and cooked perfectly med rare. but for a few more dollars I could have had food just the same elsewhere and a better dining experience at a restaurant with seating, servers, etc.

Saw this place on Mystery Diners so wife and I thought we would give it a try. Was greeted by a large TV with the episode on repeat and friendly employees. Ordered the Loco Moco. It was served as usual. Generous portion and very filling. Food was average, priced similar to other places. Fun atmosphere.

It was my first time to Waikiki and I had no idea what to expect. I went to a couple of "recommended " places to eat. I did and I found that to eat something good in Waikiki was expensive and underwhelming. I had a long day at work and I wanted something quick and good so I walked to the Shore fyre grill to have a quick bite and I was not Disappointed. I asked for the steak and shrimp. The shrimp was the best I had on the island and I am a seafood lover. It was great. The steak was a little over but still tasty. I walked by tonight and the Chef and the bartender asked me how my last visit was and I told them the truth that the shrimp were perfect but the stake was over and he made the adjustment and made me and my co worker amazed. THE BEST FOOD I've HAD ON THE ISLAND!! Great atmosphere in the early evening the surfers come to return their gear and grab a bite. Great interaction. My "kine" o place.

A nice little niche in all the bustle. They're very small and have a simple layout and a few tables, but if the tables are all fill the food comes in to-go boxes so you can walk to the beach and eat. The food was pretty good, I loves the steak and eggs, I asked them to add mushrooms. It's a group of younger people serving you and they were all very polite. Nothing fancy but a good eat

The service is horrible here and it gets a 2/10 for cleanliness. So dirty inside and out, it was unappetizing. We needed to eat something fast on our last day here and decided on shore fyre as it was a short walk from our hotel and there was a guy handing out flyers for the place. Pictures and advertising made the place look decent. We got to an empty restaurant and the woman taking orders was so rude, it almost seemed like she didn't even want us to be there. Considering they're not as popular as the other main restaurants in Waikiki, they should at least offer some decent customer service if they want any customer loyalty at all. I've been visiting Hawaii at least twice a year for the last 8 years and my friends ask me for recommendations all the time. I will never come back here again not would I recommend it to anyone.

First time I came here was around 10 at night. I had a Mai tai while I waited for my Togo order. Drink was good and it was strong! Bonus. I ordered the 50/50 loco moco. They make their own steak/bacon patty and grill it to perfection. It was the best I have had on the island. The service was outstanding. So 12 hrs later, I decided to try their breakfast. I'm i glad I did!! I had the macadamia nut pancakes and they were wonderful. Very large filling portions. 2 people could easily split this!!!! This place is laid back, no fussiness!! Come here, you won't be disappointed.

Came across this place cuz HI steaks was busy and ran out of loco moco. They weren't busy here at all and they had loco moco at 10 bucks. It was ok.. Nothing special! Rice wasn't wet (my absolute pet peeve).. Gravy was tasty and good consistency.. Egg was over easy and cooked just right. Our food came out in to go boxes which explains the overflowing of to go boxes in the dining area trash bin. Seating is small, not very pretty and kinda uncomfortable. Service was decent.. They're friendly at least! It is right next to the bar so if you don't mind loud, obnoxious drunk folks then you will be just fine! They play really loud music so it kinda feels like you're at a karaoke bar while everyone is singing away.. Might as well sing along! YOLO!!!

Maybe they would deserve more than 3 stars if Compared only with others in waikiki. Staff was very nice and friendly but the place doesn't look inviting

I had the 50/50 burger and garlic fries. Amazing. Derrick the bartender was very nice and knew the menu very well. I was kind of leary of the place, seeing that it was on Mystery Diners. To my pleasant surprise, it was worth walking in.

This place is so great! It has all the local food, including the favorites here. They have great, friendly service every single time I come...which is quite often. If you're on a quest for something ridiculously great, look no further. Shore Fyre is the place to go.

  • Renee P.

The food is great. It's the employees that need help. I come here frequently and will continue to do so because it's the best local type breakfast in this area without paying so much (prices aren't cheap but not bad considering it's Waikiki). Employees are easily overwhelmed and it shows. Just today I went and they were backed up due to a large 8 plate order. There's a thick local girl with Japanese tattoos going down her back who should be ashamed of how she handles this kind of pressure. She clearly blamed the poor new European guy for every delay with everyone else's orders. Meanwhile he provided great service between working the register AND placing the toast etc on the plates waiting for food. He was also responsible for prepping the plates in whatever order and distributing the finished plates. At one point there were so many plates backed up (since he very calmly stopped to help the line) that he hadn't gotten to place the fried rice in one of the plates for her finished egg to go on top. This woman throws her hand up and dumps the egg into an empty plate, doesn't wait for him to prep the rice Or offer any instruction. Absolutely disgusting treatment of the new employee, what an unhappy person! Luckily the girl with the curly hair came to his rescue, a clear sign that this kind of treatment is regular. Whoever is responsible for this place needs to train employees on what teamwork means and also on how to be Professional, doesn't matter whether you are flipping burgers or a flight attendant, the atmosphere You create is what the onlookers will see and remember. There were many others watching this and I'm sure thinking the same thing. One couple even applauded the European for handling it all so well. Also, what kind of business lets girls wear booty shorts (literally hanging out) to cook in? Today it was sweatpants. Guess that's a little better. Too bad the employee attitude wasn't pleasing enough a distraction.

We were actually on our way to breakfast, someone passing their flyer with the menu caught us on the street. Food looked good so we thought we outta give it a try. On the way, I picked my entrée. When it was time to order, they told me that it was an old menu, so instead I had to pay extra, to get what I wanted that was on the menu. They also had a tv screen with the menu, which also was the exact same. I said that was false advertising. No apology. I still had to pay more. For 3 entrees, I paid close to $60...for breakfast! Food was good, but not worth my $60 bucks. 3 stars is for food and service. Lost one star for the menu. Lost another for service. This is actually nice because if I wanted.. They'd also loose another star for cleanliness.

This was another place just a block off of Waikiki Beach that we found on Yelp and decided to try. Its a little hole in the wall place, so I was excited to try the food since those can sometimes be gems. This place was okay. Not bad. Not great. Just okay. The steak was good. It was cooked well and was juicy and tasty, there just wasn't much of it. The rice was good, but the salad was definately lacking. If I could have bypassed the salad an just compensated with a bit more steak and rice for my $10 it may have bumped it up to 4 stars easily. But 3 stars feels right...okay, but nothing spectacular. If I lived there, I'd probably give it another chance. It does have potential.. 3 stars

Love this place! The breakfast is excellent, the steak is killer and the moco loco is probably the best I've had anywhere. Oh, they have a full bar and happy hour specials too. Check this place out, you won't be disappointed.

It's sad to think this is rated #15. I think it deserves to be in the top 10! The restaurant is undergoing some fixtures. I lacked a star because it did suck to eat while looking at construction work and to think the cooks were doing both. The food though is where it's at! I had the loco moco and I did not hold back from rice. It was bomb.com ! The portion was great and I would have saved some, but I was all in. The prices are a bit over the top considering a drink is not included. Overall I would recommend this place, but don't walk in with over the top expectations.

Food was really good. Especially the fried rice. Bloody Mary's were good, a little too spicy for me personally, but overall, one of the best I've had. Also a Lil pricey, but to be expected for its location. I'd go again.

It's a "hidden gem" as the owner said. I was lucky enough to sit by him when I had my meal with my friend. There were no seats for me to sit since I was on crutches, the owner was nice enough to offer seating next to him. We ate our food and the Loco Moco 50/50 was amazing. After that we happen to start a conversation with the owner. He really takes care and thought into his food. It was really nice to see and meet the guy that created the place. I will def come again!

The chicken is very tender. Owner was sitting outside. He was very friendly. Ordered garlic shrimp and chicken. Came with salad and rice. Not a big fan of lime. If I was I would have liked the shrimp more.

  • Doug A.

Food and service was exceptional. This place needs some industrial cleaning. Not just some wiping down but a team with comet cleaner working overnight. The dumpster in front could use some paint and effort to deodorize it too although I realize the placement it is out of the owners hands.

Little hole in the wall below a mexican restaurant. Very good food my chicken was Cooke perfected on the grill and you can watch them make it. Huge portions of meat here. The steak is their signature but I don't get to try on this visit. The shrimp was very good if you get the shrimp you get gravy with it and its really good with the rice. ThIs place was a dirty for me. They're was food on the tables which was cleaned right as we were finishing our food. Their us a tv but it had Nickelodeon on while we were there for early dinner

Service is friendly. They greeted us when we walked in. I got the steak and garlic shrimp, small. It can feed two if you are not that hungry and just want something to snack on. The food was okay, not all that.

My husband and I yelped for a restaurant near us that serves some authentic Hawaiian style food (when in Hawaii!) and saw that this place had 4 stars. It's a little hole in the wall, the sort of places we like to adventure off to, so we thought we'd give it a shot. Unfortunately we weren't even able to taste the food. We arrived with no one seeming to be working there, we thought they might be closed even though the door was open. Unsure, we decided to sit down and see if someone would come over. Noticing the small "order here" sign, my husband approached the counter, only to see two women give him a sidelong glance and not acknowledge him. 5 minutes later a woman came out, gave us a tremendously terrible attitude, and told us to order at the counter and not sit at the table first. We wanted breakfast, but by the time we were acknowledged breakfast time has passed. The woman rudely told us "no more breakfast" interrupting us, so! We decided we'd take our money elsewhere. Terrible service, we do no recommend.

We decided to have Blazin Steaks Waikiki as our final BREAKFAST in Waikiki. It's true what the other reviewers have written in that it's certainly unpretentious, but rather a dive restaurant, and that's on the grand scale, not just Waikiki specific. There is no view whatsoever as it's on a sub-ground level and on a backstreet from Waikiki. So, now you know about the location, so keep the lack of ambiance in mind. Isn't that why you came to Waikiki in the first place? The employees were friendly enough, for a walk-up to the counter type place, and it's what I would call a traditional American breakfast place. I had French toast, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese (cheese was an add on), breakfast sausages, and then I added on some strawberries with whipped cream ($2.00 and maybe 8 slices - think 2 strawberries). I enjoyed my meal, but don't let the unpretentious of it all fool you. Our meal, including a fountain Coke Zero for me, along with my wife's meal came out to be about $29.00. So, I'm not trying to knock this place, but it really was just an average tasting breakfast meal. I mean, I could have made this at home and it would have been equally good, but for a fraction of the price. Geez, I know strawberries are $5.99 per pound at Safeway, but 2 strawberries for $2, WTF? Maybe this is a better take-out dinner kind of place. After all, it has Steaks in the name. SO, if you've made it this far in the review, remember my rating is based upon BREAKFAST!

Friendly staff, great cook. A little pricey but in wakiki its affordable. Garlic shrimp didn't burst with garlic. Steak was great. Salad and shrimp very fresh. Mixed drinks are not free pour so you don't get very strong drinks. Kid friendly for sure. Cool place to eat.

We had a nice breakfast here. It's a small counter service restaurant and since it's a tourist area, the prices are higher than you'd like to pay. But the food was pretty good.

Great food. Affordable price since this is Waikiki Beach. Nice staff. Hawaiian local feel. Would come back again. Tried the loco moco really good. Then there's blueberry French toast using real fruit. N steak n shrimp.

Listen this place is legit... Such a great staff (thanks Jamal and Derek), great and not-pricey food (Derek's garlic chicken is a must, and Jamal is maestro with this place's speciality drinks), and just a block off Kalakaua... I will be returning here. Possibly later tonight lol

The food is absolutely delicious. The 50/50 burger was the best I have ever had... seriously. The prices are good, especially for the quality. And the Lava rocks hit the spot. Must stop if you visit Waikiki. I've been here twice in two days and will be back for breakfast!

Had the 50/50 burger, it was awesome! Wes is also awesome, had the pineschnapps (drink he made himself). I don't usually like pineapple but it works. Will come back to visit when I can. It was not busy when we got here, only two people at the counter. Sometime people looked in and walked away while we were eating. Nice, cozy place with good food and alcohol.

Great friendly service, owner (I think) was hospitable in a very surfs up kind of way. This place is quite a dive but the food is pact with flavor. I had the loco moco which rocked. Ginormous portion with a super delicious beefy flavored gravy for $10. Also had the steak and shrimp which was good and tender but quite costly at $19 in my opinion. Food arrives in take out boxes which is great to just take down to the beach which is only about block away.

A rich local should hurry up and open a small chain of Shorefyres. As long as the killer recipes, spot on cooking techniques and cool attitude stay EXACTLY the same, it'll be huge. Really the best food we had during our 12 day visit to beautiful Oahu. Mahalo.

We went there for Breakfast. It was horrible, wife got veggie omlet and it tasted like a salt lick, couldn't even eat it. It was also a rip off. Kids wanted 2 pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream. They charged an extra $2 and we got half a strawberry. Total price for 2 pancakes, 2 eggs and 2 strips of bacon was $12. I got the blazin breakfast for $9 came with 2 eggs, 2 little pieces of sausage, and rice. Honestly my breakfast at Burger King was better. and at only $5.50 to boot.

This review is a bit more towards 3.5 stars. Cashier was very friendly and helpful, and our food came out quickly. The prices are decent and you get good portions. I had the garlic steak which was good, but I felt I tasted a bit more of the pepper than garlic which is why I took off some stars. The fries my dad got with his burger might have been garlic and they were AMAZING so I definitely recommend the fries! It's a hole in the wall kind of joint so while it's not entirely dirty, it does seem a tad run down. If you're expecting an amazingly clean and good looking restaurant it's not that but if you just want a filling meal and to relax then this is the place for you. Seems to be a bit of a family/friend affair because as we took our food to go a large group with whom seemed to be the owner walked in and sat down to chat.

We found this place by accident and it's truly one of the best new things we found in Waikiki! The food is incredible and the staff is so friendly. Came for breakfast, but we'll be coming back for dinner!

Got the banana Mac pancakes and ohhhh so good!!! Also got sex on the shore drink. Absolutely delicious. They are so nice and friendly too!!

Had breakfast here on Christmas morning. I ordered Eggs & Bacon with Banana Blueberry Sweet Bread French Toast -- YUM!! Husband ordered Eggs & Portuguese Sausage with Banana Macadamia Nut Pancakes. This was one of the best breakfasts we had while visiting Oahu over the holidays.

  • Amy L.

Just so-so. Had breakfast only: french toast, eggs, portuguese sausage. Not bad but nothing to write home about. Quick service and food though. Probably better for lunch/dinner. Times visited: 1

Honestly this place is a hidden gem ! Breakfast is delicious and so is the dinner for amazing prices !

Great grilled steak, shrimp, burgers and loco-moco. Fresh made. Only down fall, gotta walk around the building for the bathroom.

  • Nicole B.

Fast friendly service! The #1 steak is amazing great fast place for dinner with no wait in Waikiki, can't wait to come back for breakfast

  • Dee K.

This is the BEST local food you'll find around, and I live here! You've got to try the 50/50 Loco Moco with Fried Rice. Makes the trip to Waikiki worth the traffic! Small side street cafe. The cook/waitress is welcoming and super efficient. Did I say the food was Awesome??

  • Robert F.

Stopped in for some loco moco and it didn't disappoint. Good service & good food, reasonable prices for Waikiki.

Best bacon burger in the world. No f-ing joke! Friendly staff, great breakfast and next door to Waikiki's dopest surf shop. A must stop for authentic Hawaiian./american grub. Mahalo!!!!!

My first time at this location, and plan on never going back. The place is half-assed renovated, and dirty. It is a very unsanitary place! The flat top was black, employees did not use gloves at all; very improper handling of food. I love blazin steaks however, this is the worst location I have been to.

Ate here for breakfast a few mornings. Awesome food, everything made to order. Just a little unorganized it seems.

  • Tait J.

Very good food and healthy portions. I wouldn't say it's incredible but it is very good. The service was fast and the people are very friendly. I had the steak and eggs with white rice and a side of French toast. My brother got the same but with fried rice. The fried rice was really really good but they didn't give him very much with the meal. I had two massive scoops of white rice with mine though. The French toast was pretty good but they give you cheap syrup packets with it which kinda disappointed me. Overall this is a good place to come. I wish I had more time on the island to try their other menu items. I recommend stopping in and grabbing a bite to eat at least once to try this place for yourself. I know I will be back for more the next time I visit the islands.

Horrible! Had a hamburger that was cooked way past well done. It was so bad I don't even know if it was REAL meat! Bartender watched me in the mirror pushing it away without eating; $12.00 for food you can't eat... ? Avoid this one!

  • Mark G.

50/50 Burger is insanely good! 50% bacon ground into the patty, who does that?! Their Mai Tai is one of the best in town, nice balance and not too sweet.

This place is delicious with a wide variety! Their food is well priced too. The staff here is nice and chill. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!, a must try if near the Waikiki area, ordered the garlic steak and shrimp combo perfectly cooked. quick & good service will be coming back for sure!

  • Christy H.

I got the fish and shrimp combo. My sister and mom did as well. It was really good and we got plenty of food. My other sister and niece got chicken. They said it was good as well. They were also willing to share because their portion size was good enough. I recommend checking them out as they are right on the beach and good for a quick fix!

Walked far from my hotel to find this place and it was well worth it. The cooks are friendly, food is made fast and it's delicious.

  • Aniko G.

A small little place a block from the beach. A fast food type of joint. I had the steak and shrimp with brown Rice. Steak was very good, I added their Korean sauce and it was perfect. They didn't have much to choose from. Great for take out to the beach. The staff is super nice and service is fast. Great for fast food.

  • Samantha A.

Went here because it was so highly recommended. It was awful to say the least. That kind of awful where you take a couple bites and throw it out, awful. If i had to compare it to something, i would compare it to a low grade teryiaki place The meat was rubbery, the rice had a strange flavor and texture, the salad was super sour.

    (1)
  • Keith R.

Literally a hole in the wall. Good thing there was a guy with a sign directing people there or no one would know it was there. I had the 50/50 loco moco - a HUGE patty made with ground steak and bacon - ONO to da max - on top of three scoops of fried rice (nothing special) and soaking in the best brown gravy, and topped with an egg. My wife had the garlic shrimp with grilled shrimp. She enjoyed her meal too. Any time I come to Waikiki I'll need to stop and get my loco moco fix!

    (4)
  • Karen R.

Probably a high 3 - the steak was cooked very nicely and we felt it was a good value for the money. It is a fast food type place where you order and then pickup your meal. I didn't like the salad in the se container as my meat and rice because it wilted quickly. Even though a 3, I'd consider coming here again for a quick meal on the run.

  • ShellyJane B.

This place is so bomb I decided to write a review while I eat! YES! It's a hole in the wall place that is a must try! The Garlic steak is SOOOoo good! It was so good I ordered another one... In Large! My fatass will be back! Lol and the girl who works here is so friendly :) teeheehee

I remember this place as being so much better last year. Don't know what happened. We had the fish, which was ok, but a bit pricey for what it was.

  • Kim J.

This place was amazing......Glad I found it on Yelp! BFF and I stayed in Pacific Beach Hotel so it was literally a 30sec walk from the hotel. Brown rice, steak, garlic shrimp were cooked to perfection. This place is definitely on my list of places to eat each time we come back :) Pros: Food EXCELLENT FAST Unexpensive Clean Cons: Small inside (but you can always eat it on the beach across the street) off main street (Hidden gem)

Awesome food, awesome service. You can't go wrong with the menu choices here. Love the Aloha spirit here.

I don't know how much of a secret this place is in Waikiki, but I sure am glad I stumbled upon it! Just a small little place in lower level. They have some seating if you want to eat it there...but I tell ya, the smell is a bit intense to eat inside....if you can grab an outdoor table, you're golden. The food is pretty good, and certainly a value meal in the Waikiki area. I had their steak and shrimp fry, which is basically just steak (might have been skirt steak, or lower end sirloin, I'm not sure) cooked in lots of oil or butter. Not a healthy snack, but good grub none the less. If you're on the island and in the extra money fleecing part of town known as Waikiki, and want a little something different from the flashy, tourist trap eateries on the strip, this is a great choice.

    (4)
  • Gary W.

They have the biggest and best acai bowl in Waikiki, trust me. Steaks were tender and juicy, in fact better then an actual steak house we went to and paid 3 times as much. Sure you give up the ambiance, but if you're looking for a laid back place to get your grub on, this will fill the need.

  • Channele L.

Who knew good steak could exist on an island for a decent price? This was right below our condo so we ate here twice. Steak is delicious! The workers certainly love what they do, which adds a great atmosphere. This was also my first time trying loco moco. It was pretty good! Lots of gravy, but I think that's normal for it. Seems to be a spot that locals don't mind popping into, so it's way more chill than anything right on Kalakaua. Would definitely stop by again on a future trip!

    (4)
  • Geoff D.

I'm amazed that this place gets the ratings it does. The quintessential plate lunch is something I always value when in the islands and this place is below mediocre. The only saving grace is that the teriyaki chicken was a whole piece that seems to have been marinated effectively. But the loco moco was vaguely disgusting, the salad was probably 2-3 days old and the place was none too sharp in the realms of efficiency or cleanliness.

Affordable and yummy. Near the beach I think next to Hilton :)

Food is decent, but not worth the hassle of waiting in line to order, trying to get a seat and waiting for your food to arrive.

  • JeFF T.

Nice little find in Waikiki if you're not in the mood for waiting at one of the chains around the area. We decided to give Blazin' Steaks a try since we didn't want to wait another 45 min to get a table at another place. Just your basic grill place that happens to serve up a very good breakfast; didn't get to try it for lunch/dinner. From pancakes to omelettes to eggs done to order, they can satisfy your hunger. Pick your favorite meat (sausage, ham, Portuguese sausage, SPAM, etc.) and choose your starch (rice, fried rice, potatoes, etc.). Will have to try for lunch/dinner next time, as the grill plates sound really good as well.

This place is seriously awesome. I am from the mainland but have spent a good deal of time on O'ahu. Every time I'm there, I make sure that I eat at blazin' steaks. They're all over the island, and are reeaaallly good. Food is simple. It's steak, rice, and salad. But it's fantastic. A must have if you are looking for a place the locals love.

    (4)
  • David R.

Good and more importantly cheap food with large portions. I liked my garlic steak and my wife's garlic chicken was even better. We still have enough for a snack or small meal later!

First off let me give you a heads-up It's no longer called Blazzin Steaks it's is called Shore Fyre. I sat at the bar and got the Meat lovers omlet. They brought it to me in a to go box and I was wondering if I needed to get out or something so my initial experience is not very good but I ate the breakfast and it was fantastic especially for the price. You get a lot and cannot finish it so it turned out to be good that it was in a to go box now. I spoke with the manager and he said that he was meaning to update his Yelp account and not get sent on a wild goose chase. I hope I saved you some time. If you know what it's called and anticipate the to go box then you will give it 5 stars too. Especially if you had a 45$ lunch yesterday like me. Side note. Yelp is p*ssing me off. Hana No Sato was not at it's location yesterday either. Today it has 2 locations. I can't win on yelp in Hawaii I guess. Anyhow-I hope this helped you out. Aloha!

We were excited to go here upon referral from a local. It was empty but got fairly busy after we came. We were able to bring our own alcohol ( we brought a beer) which was nice. We sat outside, patio tables were dirty but the weather was nice and inside is definitely divey, so outside was better. Friendly service. Food was really tasty. $30 for 2 plates of steak ,cooked great, and garlic shrimp with rice and small side salad. Wouldn't hurt to give this place a mini makeover. Could have been a major turn off had we not been referred.... HOWEVER...being the only thing we ate today, we both attribute the "fighting over one hotel bathroom" to the food we ate. My husbands iron gut was in bad shape after, As was mine...A bit disappointing. Not sure what it was there ( salad, steak sauce, meat.?) and I don't see any other reviews with stomach issues. But it was obviously the food we ate. A little torn on this review.

FABULOUS FOOD AND SERVICE. If you're lookin' for something pretentious and rooty-tooty, you have PLENTY of other joints to choose from so GO THERE and stop being a dick about this place and take your upturned nose to Roy's. Sure, I wouldn't eat off the floor here, but I damn-well will eat what I am given - because it's delicious! Talked with the manager Ayesha (probably spelled that wrong) and she was a doll. I had the garlic chicken and my husband had the steak and butter garlic shrimp - AWESOME. YUM YUM AND MORE YUM! Too bad I didn't see the dog noted in the other comment, because I would have given this place SIX STARS! LONG LIVE SURF GRUB! You can eat inside...and if it's hot, eat outside and shut the f- - k up.

Amazing food and great customer service! I had the meat lovers omelet. The eggs were perfectly cooked ( not soggy like some places). The people who work there were very attentive and friendly but not overdoing it.

We ordered the Loco Moco along with another breakfast meal of eggs, bacon & macadamia & banana pancakes. Food is excellent, cooked to order so expect a wait. Very small place, easy to miss, limited seating. This is our 2nd visit; small menu but certainly one of the more affordable places to eat on the island.

    (4)
  • Justsun B.

Blaze right on by next time. This place scavenges its business from 1 time meal searchers like me. I will never go back. I ordered an acai bowl and Portuguese sausage for breakfast and after 20 minutes wait I found out they didn't have the ingredients to make either. Blah.

LOVED this place in Waikiki. The garlic steak and shrimp combo was mouth-watering (highly recommend the garlic steak over regular steak if you enjoy flavorful seasoning). The rice was moist and had a fantastic "chewy" quality to it. The steak itself was tender and -- this may be the first time I've ever used this word -- succulent. The only shortcoming is that if you ask for water, you'll get a comically tiny paper cup. However, the staff seem apologetic about this, and you can refill the cup at your leisure. Our family loved this place so much, we ate there multiple times (I'm actually embarrassed to say how many) during the one week we spent in Waikiki!

  • S M.

I ate here July 2011 and it was the best dollar for dollar meal in the area! The steak and shrimp combo is my favorite, a couple of times I let this meal sit out a day and half in my hotel room AND IT STILL TASTED GOOD. The best part is the location, kinda secluded, a block away from the tourists so you can chow down without having to wait forever.

    (5)
  • BERT O.

We went here and it wasn't too bad of an experience. My wife got a small order, ordered steak and requested to put an egg on top. She loved it. Me, on the other hand ordered the shrimp and it was a bit lacking. My favorite thing was the salad. Rice a little too mushy for my taste, but I enjoyed it. You get what you pay for.

    (4)
  • Marie P.

Man this place rocks! I don't know how people can rate this place below 5 stars! This is a place to GRUB down in Hawaii! And it's cheap! You can't beat steak, rice and salad and you can add shrimp for a few dollars. Me and the bf LOVED Blazin' Steaks! They don't take atm/cc so bring cash!

    (5)
  • Sam G.

I got the regular grilled steak with white rice and it was cheap, delicious, and fast. Recommend the Korean barbeque sauce.

    (5)
  • Caitlin M.

Delicious food! I ordered the steak with white rice and salad. Doesn't leave you feeling heavy and gross. Just the perfect amount to feel satisfied. VERY friendly staff.

Price: $6 = Steak, Rice & Salad (you can get larger steak portions for extra $$'s) Location: Right on Waikiki Beach. Just walk down (away from the Hilton) and just as the sidewalki ends, there it is. You'll smell it - next to Subway. Nothing fancy. Take it back to the beach or eat on a table/stool. But when in Waikiki, gotta same some bucks and splurge on other meals or activities. Perfect day in Waikiki: Sun yourself on the beach, or surf, or wade in the tide. Then enjoy a decent meal (lunch) at Blazin' Steaks. Head back late afternoon to take a nap Freshen up - put on the party outfit, enjoy a nice dinner, sunset, drinks and party on until you must meet your bed again. And on day 2 ... do it all over again!!

    (4)
  • Kim H.

I had the amazing garlic shrimp and steak platter and my girlfriend raved about the loco moco (steak patty and egg over rice). Excellent food, great people and the prices are great with generous portions and high quality. A "must do" if you are in the area!

    (5)
  • Jenny K.

Mohalo for providing the tastiest meal I could find in Honolulu. I happened to stumble upon this place on my first day in Waikiki after seeing some locals hanging out on the patio. The steak and shrimp platter is a perfect meal by the beach. The proprietors and locals are polite and will make you feel right at home. = ) you've gotta try it.

Quick and fast. Very reasonable price. thanks tv inside too Salad was good but today the fish was not very tasty. Maybe sauce not as good as last time.

I couldn't in my right mind, rate a place that offers a steak for $6 a rating lower than a 3. With that said, Blazin's Steaks are just alright. Great for the person who's on a budget, who wants a dinner that's a step up from McD's. The bf ordered the steak & shrimp and I got the chicken with Thai peanut sauce because I was tired of eating steak, steak, and more steak! My bf insisted his food was good, but kept using the word cheap and good for the price so it made me realize that he wouldn't pay anything over the $8 he spent on it. My chicken was fair. It was basically a braized chicken with the peanut sauce poured over it. It would have totally been better if the chicken was cooked in the sauce. The way it was, it seemed like the sauce could have been in a little plastic cup for dipping. Overall, not my favorite meal on my trip, but it was again I say it...just alright.

I always like to give second to changes to places/people/things that deserve it, and honestly I felt like this place did. I remembered when it first opened...everything was so good and at the perfect price. Gradually things have started to go down hill...with service and food. On my most recent visit, the service and food was so awful I can say with absolute certainty that I will never go back to blazing steaks again. When I walked in there was no one out front so I waited a few moments before ringing the bell...this girl walks out tells me she'll be right with me (she seemed annoyed I had rang the bell but hello no one was out front, what am I supposed to do!?) and then walks away and comes back. I order the steak and shrimp "medium". What I got was a cold disgusting plate of steak, still almost raw shrimp, overcooked rice and salad (w/o dressing even though I thought I had asked for italian and it said it on the slip). I didn't bother calling or walking back to get it corrected (I should have opened it and checked but still I shouldn't have to) instead I just used my own dressing, reheated the steak and finished cooking the shrimp. This place used to be awesome, but now that's a distant memory. I don't understand how people are giving this place five and even four stars...this place is awful! Save ur money, go to teddy's, l&l or rainbows koa drive in down the road!

  • Paul L.

Food comes out fast, is high quality, and moderately priced. I've been to other Blazin' Steaks locations and been very disappointed, so much so that I only went to this location because some friends wanted to stop in. The food I got at this location changed my mind about Blazin' Steaks, or at least changed my mind about this location. I now have lunch there 1-2 times per week.

    (5)
  • Robert M.

Like this place. Reasonably priced food with large portions. Right across the street from the Hyatt.

    (4)
  • Party R.

I agree with the other yelper, how can you not give this place 5 stars. The staff are all friendly and pretty efficient while the portions and quality are excellent for the money. Steak and shrimp for about 8 bucks and under 7 bucks if you want just steak. The shrimp I got were large shrimp. You're definitely getting your monies worth here. Very flavorful and cooked to order. I'm also a bit sad that we found this place on our last night in Waikiki. They don't take credit cards so bring your cash.

    (5)
  • Chip B.

There are many positives about this location...location and cost being the two major ones. Located one block off of the main Waikiki drag, it is super quick to pop in here to get something quick to eat. I am a pretty big eater so I choose the large steak and shrimp with fried rice which also came with a salad. The price was $15.75 but I have to admit that I could not finish it all. The meat was kind of salty but I think it was because of the seasonings they used and I was really impressed with the flavor. I would go here again in a heartbeat.

    (5)
  • Nathan W.

For the price you can't beat it, steak seemed like it was frozen steak (like the ones you buy from BJ's), but overall pretty good value for the price

    (4)
  • Paul D.

Wow, what happened to this place? Used to be decent but now it's less than. I ordered da special ribs and before I even got my change, they pulled out ribs out of a boiling pot and through some bullseye BBQ sauce on it. Blam! Special. No wonder I don't see much folks coming here lately, we are going to hi steaks from now. Rip blaZing

  • Nik S.

When I'm in Hawaii I always get Blazin Steaks. They have em all over the island! Steak any way you want it cooked right in front of you with rice and salad? Yes please!

    (5)
  • Brandon B.

O my Blazin steaks... how I do miss you. I recently moved away from HI and I miss this place more than any other food place. Who does not want a less than 10$ steak that is really good, add some korean BBQ and it is a freakin deal of the century.

Went there and got there Friday special which was good, you just née to get the local chick cause the white boy that works there is snoby and can't cook good. He cooked my steak wrong twice and and my pasta sucked when I ordered it from him, gotta get the local girl if you want good service

slightly chaotic, slightly disorganize but either way a delicious plate. Garlic steak was my favorite so far. spam/eggs was great too Great value for what you get

Reasonably priced, tasty, and filling. It's a fast food joint under La Cucaracha, and behind the Hyatt. I called in my order and it was ready for pick up when I arrived. I got a friendly welcome. I wanted to try the yellow salad dressing as seen in one of the photos, but we couldn't figure out what it was. The dressing choices are Ranch, Italian or Thousand Island. I ordered the Regular Garlic steak, but think I received the Regular Grilled Steak ($7.50). I chose brown rice and salad for sides. Everything was very good! I recommend take out as it is a very casual, fast food joint.

    (4)
  • Mike H.

I got the Steak and Garlic Shrimp with rice and Broccoli. The steak was very good. The shrimp were perfectly done and had outstanding flavor. And the broccoli was also perfect, hot all the way through but still crisp and enjoyable. For 15 dollars there was more than enough food for me (6'2", 220lbs) The things that stop me from giving it five stars are that I have had better steak and the whole place was a bit on the greasy side. I was glad to be able to eat outside as eating inside might have cost them another star.

    (4)
  • Lyman W.

My wife and I love this place, excellent food they cook your steak any way you like it. it comes with 2 scoops of rice and salad for $ 6.00. We have eaten there for breakfast (steak and eggs) and lunch (steak, rice and salad) the same day even. There is enough food for 2 to share a plate or for take home if you each get your own plate. This location is much better than others in the chain we have been to 4 others through out Oahu and they were ok you get a lot more food here than the others and it is better quality.

    (5)
  • Michelle A.

What can I say except we are so happy to have found this place at the beginning of our vacation! We are staying at the Hyatt and Blazin' Steaks is right outside by the valet. If you want a great (no frills) meal, cooked to order and really nice people go there! we are still here and are planning a few more visits.

This was a fast food joint we walked to from the hotel. The steak was tasty and the price was right for a small time neighborhood eatery. Recommended for a quick, good bite to eat on the way to bigger and better activities. Don't want to waste time waiting for a cheeseburger every night!

    (4)
  • Robert W.

This joint is spot on for a quick and affordable lunch or dinner! My wife and I skated out 20 dollars..... Steak and shrimp and eat on beach or at hyatt. No better brada!

  • eek o.

I'm reading the reviews for this place and am starting to wonder if I'm thinking about the same place. I went to the location downtown and found the steak plate below average. All of the steak is precooked/presliced and sitting in a warmer. The steak was fairly gristly and chewy. The flavor was fairly bland without sauces. I guess for price and the quantity of food you get it is a pretty good deal, but this is not something I would crave.

I never really appreciated the steak plate craze that's happened here in Oahu. Yes, $6 for a steak, rice and salad is a good deal - but that's if the steak is good. The steak is okay and edible, but I'd much rather just pick up a cheap steak like chuck at the market and cook it myself. The meat was overdone and dry.

My family just had dinner. I had the garlic steak which was very good, my wife had the steak with mushrooms, my son had the BBQ chicken and my daughter had the regular steak. all were very good except the regular steak which was just regular although my daughter actually loved it since she finished her entire plate. The price was a surprise since we were in Waikiki $40.00 for everything, it included the drinks and the meals came with salad and 2 cups of rice. Very good food and affordable. Reminder cash only transactions.

I came across this place after a surf session. I saw a a sign that said $6 for steak. I went in there and saw a deal for steak and shrimp for $8. I ordered the steak/shrimp combo which came with 2 scoops of rice, salad, steak, and 5 pieces of big shrimp. The steak had great flavor and was cooked well. If you want to add more flavor you can add shoyu, korean bbq or other sauces yourself. The shrimp was tasty and very good. For the price and the food you get, you can't beat this place.

Best steak and shrimp for the price!!! You must add the shrimp for like 2 bucks difference!!! I left Hawaii 8 months ago and I still crave and think about the succulent garlic butter shrimp. DROOL! Do not pass this up! No need to shop around the mall just eat at Blazin' Steaks and you'll be satisfied! It is truly a hidden treasure.

For 6 bucks you cant go wrong! My husbands boss took us here last night, and I didnt know what to think.. but I am thinking yummy now! My son couldnt finish his plate so we brought it back to the hotel and had it for lunch today, and it was still delish! I will totally be going back here while visiting.

Ooohhhh boy. This place I frequent the one in Waikiki. It's not on the menu but if you ask them they'll do it for. Garlic steak and eggs. They don't have Mac salad there so I have to go up the street to Me's Bar b q and get a side of the best Mac salad on this rock.

i love blazin' steaks, and i've been to this location 3-4 times before without any problems, so i'm trying to be fair in giving it 3 stars even though tonight's visit was definitely a 1 star. so many problems i'm just going to list them rather than try to write it out: 1) when i arrived there was a line almost out the door and the only employee not in the back room was the cashier. the other 2 eventually emerged, looked a little shocked at the fact there were so many people waiting, and slowly began, you know, preparing food... 2) i got to the front of the line only to find it was cash only. apparently their card reader (which i know i've used before) was not working... would have been helpful to know this before waiting in line for 15 minutes... 3) their atm charges a $2.75 fee, which on top of my bank's charge of $2.00 means my $6 steak plate cost me $10.75 - almost twice the normal price... 4) the girl made me wait in line a second time to pay after i'd used the atm... 5) my steak which i'd ordered medium rare came out well done... 6) rice was undercooked and hard (which shouldn't ever be a problem when you have a rice cooker)... 6) as i was leaving i heard them telling the guy who'd been in front of me in line the first time (i.e., he'd ordered about 20 minutes ago) that they were out of what he'd ordered. maybe it was a fluke, maybe they have new staff that are still getting broken in, or maybe this place has taken a serious dive in quality, i don't know. and i won't be back anytime soon to find out.

Ordered the garlic Shrimp and Fish, both were cooked perfectly with excellent garlic sauce. Wasn't a big fan of the fish however I tried the steak and it was delicious. Couldn't see anyone going wrong with the Steak and Garlic Shrimp. Great place to go if you're looking for a quick simple meal compared to the normal hour wait, expensive food. Great alternative. Aloha

We decided to try this restaurant based on the yelp reviews. I would say this is a local treasure! The restaurant is a block off the main drag and its entrance is half below street level but its a great little place. The food was flavorful and well prepared. We had the regular order of steak and garlic shrimp. You get a heathy portion for the price. We got six large shrimp and about 4 oz of tender steak in the regular size. It also came with rice and a salad. The staff - most likely the owners - were very friendly!

Once my husband and I got to Waikiki this was our first meal and loved the food! I felt like I was at home, good ol comfort food. We "thought" this was going to be our go to restaurant. At that point I would've given this place five stars. BUT on our second visit to this restaurant, after we placed our order I saw ROACHES crawling on their wall by the register and the counters. I then started observing where they keep the food... on a little station by the grill. I can't be too sure food was being heated/cooled well. What a nightmare! Looking at the other reviews, this place would have 5 stars if they fixed their sanitary issues. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe I caught the roaches on a random day but not likely. Where there is one, there is many. I don't think any one should eat here until they get their place cleaned out and establish better habits. Yuck...

There were some guys handing out promos on the street and a store manager recommended it as well so we took those two hints to go. When we got there, a guy was standing outside and jokingly said we should stop thinking and just go cuz it's the best place in town. We laughed and then he told us he was the owner. So we went. It was pretty dam good. Little pricey but we sat outside and had a good quick meal.

Best mahi mahi I think I ever had. Steak was good and all at a reasonable price. Fast food place with quality of a sit down restaurant.

  • Tim H.

For a place that is sort of like fast food and is served in a styrofoam container this is a good place for a person on a budget looking for a tasty and filling meal. The restaurant is not very big inside so be prepared to either wait for a seat or try eating outside on one of the few tables available. You will order from the counter from one of many selections that are posted on the menu wall. I chose to have the steak and shrimp combo and it was served with rice and a salad. I was very impressed with the flavor of the steak and the grilled shrimp were good too. So if you are on a budget and looking for something good try this place out. I am sure you will like it too.

What's not to like about Blazin' Steaks? Unless you're some kind of vegetarian, you're bound to not only like something from their menu, but you'll also find yourself craving it days later. I like this location a lot because it happens to be pretty conveniently located near where I work, but I also like that I can phone in an order, which I've done for up to seven people on occasion. The only time I can really say I was displeased was when I phoned in an order for myself one day, and they hadn't even started it yet by the time I'd arrived. This place is kind of tucked away below ground level along Koa Avenue, but as the only current location in Waikiki, it can get really busy. I suggest phoning in orders whenever you need to save time. With a decent volume and price for such a simple but great tasting steak menu, you can't really go wrong with Blazin' Steaks.

A decent place for cheap food. I had a dinner plate of Kalbi, rice and vegetables, which was pretty good. Dinning here isn't necessarily amazing so I'd recommend taking your plate to the beach or even to your hotel (if you're close-by) and enjoy it there. There's a loud TV in the main dining area and if you're not into the show that's playing, you may find it irritating.

Very good reasonable breakfast. Walked past Eggs and Things with a half hour wait and gots seats immediately. That's worth a star, in Waikiki.

Kind of on the pricey side because it's in Waikiki and the staff is very friendly and the food is delicious. There's more variety on the menu than the other blazin steaks. I don't come to Waikiki that often but ate her twice and each time I came the food was perfect and the staff friendly.

New place a person on the street told us about..let's check it out.. It is a dinky hole-in-the-wall kinda place but as long as the food is good i ain't complaining - we shall see. Ok, well honestly the food didn't have much flavor..generous portion, quick service but..i had the loco moco with brown rice.

This place is the bomb! The food is superb. I recommend the steak and shrimp combo. The difference between the regular size and large is 4oz of steak vs 8oz. The guys who own it are really cool too. We came here two nights in a row and they gave us drinks on the house. Awesome place to chill and eat amazing food at a decent price. Make sure to stop by this place if you're in Waikiki!

Perfect location one block away from the beach. The place is kinda of hidden. The food is way better than the food court the chicken taste sooo good crispy and lots of flavor. Steak and shrimp is good its cook depending on your taste raw or well done ! I recommend everyone to come .. ill.return once I come back to Hawaii. Fyi order to go and eat by the beach !!!

I'm not even going to front, this place does hit the spot. They have consistent and nice service there. There is always some type of movie or show on the flat screen to entertain you while you wait. The wait is like maybe 10 minutes at most. I got the fish and chicken two other times since my last visit. I decided to get it without the sauce (hibachi, korean bbq) and add it on myself. Some times they can get carried away with pouring the sauce on. And of course I ordered my brown rice to be paired with my meal. The chicken is tender and juicy. The fish might have been a little on the dry side though. The portion size is just 'perfect' How can you beat this dish for only $6 or if you mix and match it's about $7. Cheap and ono eats for sure =)~

Yummy cheap food - steak plate comes with rice and salad - all for $6! They also have chicken and Opakapaka... and you can add shrimp to your steak plate for a few extra bucks. It is a lot of food for the price! Quick too! The Hibachi sauce is really good too! NOTE: They do no accept credit cards!!

If I could have just one meal for the rest of my life, it would be a large steak and garlic shrimp with brown rice. I've eaten here for years and will continue to do so as long as I'm able. Don't change a thing.

Why negative reviews? This is a local joint, a small basement eatery with better food than all these expensive pretentious touristic spots. The quality of the beef surpasses many other places, melts in your mouth. OK, if you do not like eating meat salad and white rice in styrofoam, avoid it. But if you ever did it, either at a Chinese,Thai or other, add this to your list. Walking distance from famous Waikiki beach. I do not hesitate giving it a 5 stars, when compared with similar establishments.

This place is so good we came back 2 nights in a row. The steak and shrimp is very yummy. It is a good portion and you get rice and salad. The workers are really nice and laid back. They are having fun making your food and make the customers enjoy their experience. This is a must go to while in Waikiki. I will definitely come here again the next time I am in Waikiki.

Probably my favorite fast food spot in Hawaii - - - it reminds me of Samurai Sam's or Bonzai Bob's in Vegas. I have gone here each time I have been to Hawaii and love their teriyaki bowls!

When I visited here last week, I noticed that it smelled really funny when my boyfriend and I walked in the door. That should have been a hint that something was wrong, but I didn't pay attention. I ate the chicken and was fine, but, unfortunately, my boyfriend ate the steak and was out for about three days due to food poisoning. After that experience, I would not recommend eating at this place, unless you want to take the risk.

$6 steaks with rice and a salad... That's every American's dream meal, minus the salad and the rice... Just pay a little more for extra steak or have add ons like garlic, chicken, or shrimp. The food was good, the steak was precut in our tray, and the serving size was just perfect for coming off a 5 hour plane ride. They only accept cash though, which I find a bummer when traveling since I don't like to carry cash on me. However, the service was kind enough as I pulled out the exact change out of my wallet (I hate gathering extra change when I have it already)... A star was lost since their soda machine was out and we had to purchase a bottle of Mountain Dew. We had a coupon for free fountain drinks, but that didn't matter then now did it? Wait wasn't long, and the food was pretty damn good. Good place to go for a good hearty quick meal on a budget. Ordered the garlic steak, but the steak itself was good on it's own (since my boyfriend ordered that instead).

We ordered the steak/shrimp plate and the grilled salmon plate. Each one gets 2 scoops of rice (fried or white) and a salad with your choice of dressing. The salmon was raw in the middle and tasted like it was previously frozen. The shrimp were also raw in the middle. We had to bring it back in and ask them to cook it a bit more. They grudgingly did it without offering any apologies. I know a lot of locals eat here. Too bad, maybe we came at a bad time...?

Worst local food (steak and eggs) ever. Eggs over cooked, steaks burnt and extremely oily. Being a tourist, I didn't know this was a fast food chain place. I despise fast food chains and this goes on my "never again" list. Complaining continued.. my rice were not perfectly shaped balls but fallen apart overnight cold rice in clumps and they didn't give me any "salad" to go with it.. took a couple of bites and threw the whole thing away.. I should've just given my $8 to a bum. Should've known to turn away when a barely legal kid is cooking for you. I was so mad that I wasted my precious breakfast time slot on this piece of shit that I had to chain smoke to ease my anger.

Decent and simple , ordered the grilled steak w white rice and Italian dressing on salad. As expected not cheap though. But they need to learn to cook rice, it was mushy.

This was one of the best food finds we made on our most recent trip to Waikiki...unfortunately we found it on the last night of our trip. It's sort of tucked away down Koa Ave on the east side of Waikiki. If we had seen it earlier, it would have been a regular stop. The main dish is steak (tri-tip cut into nice sized chunks) served with rice...and it's quite tasty! Simple marinade / seasoning...salt, pepper, maybe a couple of other things...but just good. They also have free refills on soft drinks which seems to be a rarity in Waikiki. I saw other things on the menu that I'd like to try, but since we only made it once, I'll have to save those for our next trip. I'd highly recommend finding a Blazin' Steaks location near your hotel when on Oahu. It's not always easy to eat inexpensively on a Hawaiian Vacation, but good deals can be found. Blazin' Steaks is definitely a quality meal for a great price!

The $8 loco moco seemed very good but after i tasted it, it was disgusting. The eggs were cooked pretty well at the runny sunny side up it should be but the gravy was just pure disgusting here. The steak was also great but was overwhelmed by the flavorless, salty, and greasy brown gravy that drenched the whole meal. I got very sick in my stomach after consuming this overwhelmingly heavy lunch. Come here if you want to have high cholesterol & high bloodpressure cheap tho :D

Wow and so yummy! Took the family here for an easy, low key dinner and was not disappointed! We ordered garlic shrimp and steak meals and a grilled chicken meal for our preschooler. Everybody was satisfied and the atmosphere was totally youthful and upbeat.

This little place off the main strip is great. I found it through Yelp. The service was great, the food was good and the price is excellent just over $20. We had the steak & chicken, rice & salad with a soda. The portion of food was a good size. I will recommend this place to anyone. I hope everyone has the same experience like us. Keep a good job guys...!! Friday night 11/02/2012

Hidden gem for me. I am a beef eater and then some. Every now and then I want to tear into a steak without all the bullshit of a big restaurant chain. This is where I head. My wife had the mahi plate and that was good too. No frills beef, chicken or fish. A family favorite.

Blazin Steaks is a chain of tiny restaurants/food stands that grills steak, chicken or shrimp and lets you choose the sauce you'd like. It's served with salad and rice like a local plate lunch and the price is $6.00. I ordered steak, medium rare and just had salad instead of rice. While I was waiting I moved to the side window where the cook whas grilling like a madman to keep up with all the orders. He said the steak was strips of sirloin tri tip and that it was sliced that way so it would be tender. He also suggested I try the Blazin Steak sauce on top of the steak. After finding a tall table around the side of the food stands I took the first bite and knew it was a winner. It was tender and flavorful without having too many spices. With the big salad and the steak it was completely filling and I'd gladly go back and get a meal there again. Especially for $6.00!

Good prices a must alternative from all the expensive restaurants in the area. If you play it smart, you will come here more than once in your stay because not only is the food quality, but the prices are low! You save by eating great food and good prices!

So coming off the plane my bf and I were so hungry that we came across blazing' steaks. We both decided on the chicken and steak combo that comes with rice and salad. I must say that the steak was well seasoned and really good as for the chicken it was good but some parts needed a tad bit more to be cooked. I don't eat medium done chicken only well done I think that's the only way to eat it or you can get sick. But anyways they give you a good portion of food I would recommend trying the steak really good and reasonably priced.

Since raising prices, the quality has gone down and so have the portions. Used to eat at Blazin all the time when my GF and I first moved to the island. Prices were very cheap in comparison to other Waikiki food destinations. Wasn't happy the last few times we went........don't think we'll be eating there again.

I don't have a benchmark for what a good acai bowl should taste like, but this little bugger was pretty good. Crunchy oatmeal (I think it was), banana slices, stawberry, honey, big serving of ice acia on the bottom, blueberries. I think that was everything. PDG! (pretty darn good).

I had the fish plate and my friend had the steak with shrimp. This place isn't fantastic but it isn't bad. The fish was really dry. The steak was cooked really well. It wasn't too rough or too gamey. Overall this place is a solid three stars.

    (3)
  • Lindsay D.

Omelettes - fine. Hard to screw up breakfast. Loud music in a dive-bar atmosphere at 9am. Don't take the kids. - no table service but still cost $30 for two of us. Go here because you do not want to wait in line. Do not go here for the food or the atmosphere...

This is a great place for a good burger and garlic fries. The staff was friendly and cheerful.

The food was delicious! I had the garlic shrimp and chicken that comes with a salad and it was perfect. My sister had the 50/50 burger and it was good as well. I'd definitely come back after a long day at the beach!

Delicious.

Its okay, nothing more. I think it cost too much, compared to the quality, but depends on what you compare with. I will not eat here again, but its ok if you just need some lunch. Big portions.

  • Asif K.

We ordered shrimp and fish which came with side salad. Rice tasted different but shrimp and fish was good. Food was good people were friendly but place may need a little makeover.

  • Minjoo R.

The food was delicious. I ordered steak and garlic shrimp, my brother ordered the bacon loco moco, and we also got a garlic chicken. The portions are large and definitely give you the bang for your buck! Eat outside because it's really hot inside. Great place for a late night meal.

  • Amanda C.

  • Cerena G.

  • Darrell C.

  • Food P.

I must say the Loco Moco was really good! I guess they can expand the place just to accomodate more people. But then again, most people buy their food and they eat by the beach; like I did. So it's all good. Will definitely come back!

    (4)
  • Marina D.

A-OK. The food was A-OK, but the guys working there were nice. I have to agree with other reviews that say this place is a little too laid back for me. Their pancakes were a little on the raw side, but still pretty good. Portions were generous.

Walked by this place the other day and we had to come back. I got the meat lovers omelette and my husband got the loco loco! I recommend both with a nice spicy Bloody Mary!

  • Alicia B.

I had a great experience here. The veggie omelet was very tasty and had a side of French toast. Both were so good, I wish I could eat there everyday. I highly recommend this place. I understand now why this restaurant was featured on the food network.

Mahalo.

  • Vince L.

My first time at this location, and plan on never going back. The place is half-assed renovated, and dirty. It is a very unsanitary place! The flat top was black, employees did not use gloves at all; very improper handling of food. I love blazin steaks however, this is the worst location I have been to.

I got the fish and shrimp combo. My sister and mom did as well. It was really good and we got plenty of food. My other sister and niece got chicken. They said it was good as well. They were also willing to share because their portion size was good enough. I recommend checking them out as they are right on the beach and good for a quick fix!

For what it it....its way better than McDonald's!!!!

What a great change a pace from the same boring fast food. The steak was tender and tasty! My plate looked so good I almost forgot to take a picture. Thanks Blazin Steaks!

I had the fish plate and my friend had the steak with shrimp. This place isn't fantastic but it isn't bad. The fish was really dry. The steak was cooked really well. It wasn't too rough or too gamey. Overall this place is a solid three stars.

  • Kim H.

I had the amazing garlic shrimp and steak platter and my girlfriend raved about the loco moco (steak patty and egg over rice). Excellent food, great people and the prices are great with generous portions and high quality. A "must do" if you are in the area!

  • Robert M.

Like this place. Reasonably priced food with large portions. Right across the street from the Hyatt.

Rip blaZing

When I'm in Hawaii I always get Blazin Steaks. They have em all over the island! Steak any way you want it cooked right in front of you with rice and salad? Yes please!

    (4)

Excellent cheap tasty food! Great portion size. Lots of freshly cooked steak and shrimp. Really hit the spot!

  • Jessica N.

  • Michael H.

Great food for a reasonable price in Waikiki. They now accept credit cards. Seating can be limited.

was it good? yes but there are better, steak shack down the road beats blazing. the process here are steeper and I found we got less bang for the buck. good customer service, nice place overall

  • Diana L.

Best meal I've had in Hawaii so far. The owner is welcoming and down to earth. The locals make you feel like one. Food is absolutely amazing and reasonably priced! Def a fan!!!

  • Cyn C.

  • Bonnie M.

Steak and chicken were great, staff was friendly. Didn't care for the rice, it tasted like it had been sitting out too long, would have liked other side options..

  • John K.

    (4)
  • Tammi H.

  • Tanner R.

Since raising prices, the quality has gone down and so have the portions. Used to eat at Blazin all the time when my GF and I first moved to the island. Prices were very cheap in comparison to other Waikiki food destinations. Wasn't happy the last few times we went........don't think we'll be eating there again.

    (2)
  • Albert M.

  • Keoni U.

  • Gary W.

They have the biggest and best acai bowl in Waikiki, trust me. Steaks were tender and juicy, in fact better then an actual steak house we went to and paid 3 times as much. Sure you give up the ambiance, but if you're looking for a laid back place to get your grub on, this will fill the need.

Good and more importantly cheap food with large portions. I liked my garlic steak and my wife's garlic chicken was even better. We still have enough for a snack or small meal later!

Delicious! Boyfriend had the shrimp and steak which were both DELICIOUS and I had chicken teriyaki which was just as good! Wish we had a place like this in Vegas!

There was a dog walking around in the kitchen beside the guy cooking food. Disgusting. Don't eat here.

This place is realllllly good. Friendly customer service, especially Vinny. The food is very worth its price. There is plenty of food and everything is yummy (I have tried shrimp, chicken and steak dishes).
