I love to get teh beef and asparagus special- almost everything comes with 2 scoop rice and mac salad. Even this. Korean Chinese Food with local style plates is this place to a 'T.' I'm just waiting for Hawaii 5 O to discover this place- then the prices will really go up.

This place always come through. I have never eaten an actual plate lunch here and have only ordered catering through them a couple of times. What I have seen and tasted through their catering I would expect their plate lunches to be great. Each of the times that I have ordered catering here everything has been ready for pickup at the time stated and everything is fresh and hot. The food is good for the large amounts that it is cooked in and the service is also good. The prices for catering are the best that I have seen compared to so many other places that do catering this is your best bet. I am not sure how they are even able to stay in business with the low prices and large amounts of food that they give you when you order catering from them. Whenever I have to order food for a large even this is the first place that comes to mind and usually will be that place I order from. And one of these days I will try just a plate lunch from them.

Local plate lunch stuff...super large old school portions! The garlic chicken is their signature dish. Overall a great balance of quality & quantity at a great price. Also healthier options (brwn rice, fish, etc). My only complaint is the lack of parking. If you must park down by Coolidge st or Longs drugs across the st.

I went in this place the other day and got mushroom chicken. Although the food was not bad the inside of the place was filthy dirty. I made me sick to be sitting in there. It looked as thou it has never been cleaned. The layers of filth was thick and the help was very unfriendly.

One plus one is good if you want a cheap meal w/big portions! I work right up the road from them so our office picks up food from here about once a week or so. I LOVE the beef stew (although the meat is sometimes hard/chewy) and teri chicken fried rice w/side teri beef!! I've been to a party where the food was catered from them and honestly it just wasn't the same! Everything had no flavor! (mahi, spring rolls, chicken katsu, mochiko chicken, and a couple of other things) BUT that's the only bad experience I've had w/their food so I was really surprised. All in all though their food is yummy! :)

Good bang for you buck. My favorite plates include the garlic chicken and the chicken w/ asparagus. Be warned the portions are huge. My ma and I shared a plate of fried rice and garlic chicken for dinner, and there is still enough for lunch for one of us tomorrow ;)

The garlic chicken is awesome. Thats all I ever get there. If your going to pick up your food call it in first. Can take about 10 min.

We usually come here to take out plate lunches. They give you plenty of food and the price is reasonable. Usually when you call in an order, they'll have it ready in 10-15 min so they're pretty quick too. My favorites here are the Kimchi Fried Rice, Mochiko Chicken, Spicy Garlic Eggplant Chicken and Beef Broccoli. The plates come with mac salad or green salad and two scoops of rice (you can get brown rice for extra 50 cents).

I work really close by and often times leave home from work early to grab lunch here. Sumo Drive-In has been open for a few month next door. There are times I want to check out the food there but One Plus One's consistency stops me every time. My favorites are the teri-chicken fried rice (huge portion), teri beef, roast pork, curry stew and surprisingly their spaghetti. They provide water and water cups in a huge jug for their customers and there is also a bathroom (upstairs, key required). It is never overly crowded and the air in the dining area is relatively cool. They always have the daily newspaper available which I particularly like. The only downside to this place is the chairs screech against the floor and the kitchen staff can't understand a lick of english. Whenever I ask for the bathroom key they have no idea what I'm saying, most of the time they ignore me when I try to get their attention so I guess that is worse! In closing One Plus One has been a reliable place for me to grab ono food back when I was in college and still remains solid today. Maybe one day I'll get around to checking out Sumo's but the little things like the water jug, bathroom and quiet environment will keep me away for just a little bit longer. lol

Nothing really special, just like an L&L type food. Walked in one night and the eating area was dirty. Ordered the beef stew plate because I was craving, lots of corn starch in the gravy. Serving size was huge though but the taste was just alright, nothing that would make me want to come back. Service was average and also unfriendly.

We tried this place for lunch...food was good n they give alot! We tried the beef curry mix plate, steak plate, shoyu pork plate and pork chop plate...we all tried each others food n agreed that everything tasted good! Parking is diffucult here tho as its small n not enuff spaces...so we parked at longs across the street and walked over. We all liked this place and will be back.

As a broke college student who also has a standard for cheap food, One Plus One is my place to go. The prices here are very hard to say no to. 7.81 for HUGE plate of mochiko chicken. I've had mochiko chicken many times before at other places. But something about One Plus One's chicken makes me want to come back. Besides their generous portions that they give you, it tastes really good. Crispy, juicy, and tender chicken makes me crave it often. It can get addicting. I like to eat a lot too, so the amount of food they gave me for about less than 8 dollars left me satisfied. Their mac salad is amazing as well. I started putting tabasco on my mac salad after seeing another asian person do it and it was pretty much a gift from God. I've had their mochiko chicken and garlic chicken plate. They are both good but I always stick to their mochiko. Can't go wrong. I'm seeing bad reviews here about their service. All I have to say is just order your food and go. As long as you got your food you shouldn't have a problem. They even have AC for you. My go to spot because UH cafe charges 8-9 bucks for cold food that tastes like crap. Worth the walk down.

The portions are huge. You may need a bigger pair of pants when you leave, but you will never leave still hungry. lol. Orange Chicken is my fav here.

Who likes Chicken Katsu???? I do! I do! I do! Now who likes pressed chicken, for their Chicken Katsu????? I don't, I don't, I don't! This is exactly what I got for lunch today! :( I've been to this small hole in the wall plate lunch place (near the Moiliili Longs Drugs), and I would say it is a hit or miss kinda thing. For today, it was definitely a "miss" for me. My coworker suggested we do a plate lunch today, and One Plus One Drive Inn came up....... There is an upside about coming to this place for me - 1. It's near my office. 2. Food is good (sometimes), you just gotta pick the right item........that's the whole key! The downside about this place - 1. Parking is very tight.......as the parking lot is shared by a liquor store. At most, maybe 5 or 6 cars max for this private parking lot. 2 The Chicken Katsu was a total tease for me today.......and let me voice out my option about this dish. Upon going to One Plus One Drive Inn today for lunch, I told my coworker - "Let's go early so that we can get parking." Sure enough when we got there around 11:15 AM, there was plenty parking, as there was only 1 car in the private parking lot. We walk in, and was greeted by the lady at the ordering booth. My coworker orders the Mini Chicken Katsu..........so then I'm thinking - "Yeah Baby! Das one good idea!" And I proceeded to order the same, but take a regular size Chicken Katsu plate with Brown Rice & Toss Salad. Note: When you do order Brown Rice, they will charge you an additional $0.50. The grub - Although One Plue One Drive Inn serves up very generous portions of food for their plate lunches (I should have gotten a mini), the Chicken Katsu I got today was just so-so. What I did like about my Chicken Katsu was that it came out Hot & Fresh! They gave a huge portion of food, and like I said before..........after I saw it, I wished I had gotten a mini plate instead. The Chicken Katsu was not oily, and the texture of the meat was made perfectly! What I didn't like about the Chicken Katsu was that the Chicken meat was pressed. If you noticed in one of my pics, you will see the breaded Chicken Katsu piece, and upon looking at it, you will be thinking - "WHERE'S DA MEAT????" When the chicken meat is pressed like that, after deep frying it, the meat will become hard, and it makes it less palatable to eat. Unlike some of my favorite places to get Chicken Katsu - Graces Inn, Island Style BBQ, or Karen's Kitchen..........they do Chicken Katsu right! Like I said before...........this place is a hit or miss........I will make a mental note of not buying the Chicken Katsu from here, and order something else if I come back in the near future.

Best place for plate lunch. The beef broccoli is great and so is the Chicken Katsu, both which I recommend. Also good is the New York Steak combo, which is pricey.

Tried this place for a quick dinner before the UH baseball game. Food was okay, portions were big. Wife had the pork laulau plate, it was dry and tasteless.......

My boyfriend started taking me here when we first got together over 6 years ago. He loved the variety and portion size. I remember being unsure what to even try; wanting to keep it safe. There were so many options, what would I like? Little did I know, the answer was everything. I always make a combination plate when here. Under $10 get you your choice of two entrees, rice & mac or tossed salad. There's legit over a dozen options with choices like eggplant chicken, chicken Katsura, lemon chicken, beef stew, Teri beef, beef curry etc. my two go to choices are orange chicken and broccoli with beef. They remind me of my fake white box Chinese food back home & taste mighty good. The shoyu pot roast is on the specials board almost daily and is absolutely delicious. It's seasoned well & almost always falling apart tender. My boyfriend is obsessed with the cold ginger chicken and eggplant chicken. The ginger sauce is a nice mix of herby flavors. Now when it comes to portion: they are more generous than I even think they realize. These plates are overflowingly ginormous and yet they're super light on the wallet. I remember years ago our roommates at the time threw out our leftovers by accident and we didn't talk to them for like 3 days. These plates are two meals easy! Bonus, The menu is available on the website so you can call in orders too. Plus they do catering! The location is very small & not fancy at all. There's some tables and chairs if you want to eat in but your food is still served in takeout boxes. I appreciate that the food and prices have remained the same over the time I've been eating here. This will always be a plate lunch favorite of mine.

Most important to note: HUGE. PORTIONS. One Plus One has your standard fare plate lunches, all done very well in my experience. Whenever I come here, I'm always torn between mochiko chicken and bbq chix fried rice. Now I can get both (for an upcharge, of course)! Anyway, I also like the garlic chicken. Though it's not breaded like at some places, it's super garlicky and way tasty. They have daily specials - though I'm not sure if they change daily as I don't come here THAT often. Usually when I look, it's your typical oxtail soup or curry katsu, etc etc. Now that all that's out of the way, let me tell you about how much food they give you. Hint: IT'S A LOT. During my last visit I ordered a mochiko chicken plate with fried rice subbed in for white rice/mac. THE ONE PLATE PROVIDED ME WITH THREE MEALS. Granted, lunch is usually my smallest meal of the day but still. SO MUCH FOOD. In addition to the huge portions, the plates are also relatively inexpensive. $7 - $10 seems pretty reasonable for how much food they give. I got there to pick up food at about 20 mins to closing. They were still taking orders (yay) but they line kept extending all the way up until we left at about 5 mins to closing. It wasn't even a weekend! Anyway, way better than most other plate lunches around here and for the price, how can you go wrong?

Always consistent. Love the chicken wings and house noodle here. I come every week. Recommend everyone to go down and grind. I always go home smiling after eating here.

My go to plate lunch when I've had a long day of studying its just what I need to wind down the day I usually grab it to go. I like that the food is always piping hot when I get it. Portion size is generous and is enough to share or save half for later. I am a med sized woman for you guys that are more athletic you probably won't have left overs.

I like the Garlic Chicken Plate here as well as the bbq mixed plate the only thing I would need to comment on is the mac salad which in my opinion has too much mayo in it other than that the food is great like any other plate lunch establishment. The prices are good and about average for a plate lunch place there are quite a bit of seats and I have never had a problem getting one. parking on the other hand sometimes is crowded and some people make their own parking in the parking lot so it tends to be haphazard sometimes.

Nestled next to gourmet liquors this place offers seating for dining in and a few seats for waiting for take out. The food here is not disappointing and the portions are what you would expect for the price. Good place for a solid plate lunch. Pros: $7 will get you a large entree, 2 scoops of rice and macaroni salad. Vegetables and brown rice available. If you wish to sit down and eat, you can do so at any of the 7 tables provided and on a warm summer day the A/C in this location will provide ample refuge. Cons: Location is dusty and the place does not look like a health inspector has stepped in the door in at least 6 months to a year. I am sure they clean the kitchen at some point during the night but I checked out the floor and dropped a book of matches behind the table closest to the door. Guess what? The book of matches are still there as of the writing of this review. Customer service is sorely lacking in this place. I suppose for $7 I should not have high expectations, but it bears repeating. Do not expected to be greeted when you walk through the door. You can stand for 5-8 min before anyone will acknowledge your presence. Overall-I live near this location so it is a place I go too often despite the poor customer service and the less then stellar cleaning. If you are in the neighborhood and need a quick lunch plate, this is your place.

Looking for a last minute place to pick up an inexperience potluck dish? One Plus One drive inn is specializes in catering, platters, and conveniently located on King street, across the street from Long's Moiliili. At first glance, they look like another L&L barbeque copycat, but when you walk up to the menu board and look at the sheer number of choices from party packages to individual pans. I was in a rush, headed out to a potluck reunion at the St. Louis club house. Stopped by for their fried shrimp pan, ordered and received my potluck item within 10 minutes! Chinese restaurant quality, jumbo sized 16/20 black tiger shrimp, wok fried with crispy shell on. The only downside for this order, was the fact that they place sliced cabbage on the bottom of the pan, making the order look like a much larger quantity of shrimp. My guests were thoroughly impressed with the presentation, taste, and some even ate the cabbage with the yummy fried shrimp. This has been my second catered order from this establishment, and I highly recommend this restaurant!

The food is solid but nothing special. The reason to come is for the bargain. You'd be hard pressed to find a better deal in town. The plates are cheap and humongous. The mix plate is like 5 lbs. Easily enough for 2 or even 3 meals for the average person. Not me tho, I polish the buggah in one sitting. As one witness to my gluttony commented, "Tis no man. Tis a remorseless eating machine."

Awesome plate lunch place! Food was so good, we went back the next night! Try the pork chops! Winnah! The salmon was awesome too! My husband is a fan of the teri beef. Oh, and the Chicken Katsu is WOWS! We also tried the hamburger steak. Wonderful! And their french fries...woohoo! A friend catered from them and the food was fabulous as well! My mom liked it so much when we took her there for lunch, she took her girlfriends there for their weekly lunch outing.

First time adventuring to this place. HK doesn't have Mochiko Chicken, and reading about Nearby places, I found out that One Plus One Drive Inn did! Ordered it with Brown Rice & Green Salad - .50 up charge for Brown Rice. The place itself looks pretty shabby, but the food was OKAY! I was really pleased with the mochiko chicken, it was one of the best one's I've tried in a while.. (I was sad when I tried Yama's mochiko chicken recently.. I can't stand mochiko chicken that looks like BBQ chicken and is sweet.. Mochiko Chicken is meant to be like little morsels of fried chicken deliciousness!!!!) CHEAP EATS and Yelpers were right, portions were generous. Still about 1/2 left, and I'm full. Maybe I should have went 'mini' Mochiko Chicken: media2.px.yelpcdn.com/bp…

  • Remy H.

Although it may not be the most appealing or well-designed restaurant, the food here is quite good for the price you pay. The portions are fairly large. The fried rice is really good here and you can also add an over easy egg on top! I'd recommend the mini portions for single servings just because the regulars are pretty filling.

  • Joson P.

I work in the Mo'ili'ili area and One Plus One Drive Inn is my first choice for a plate lunch. Their prices are very reasonable. You get a lot of food in the mini plates. If you're looking for a huge inexpensive pile of protein, go with the shoyu pot roast. It's good and will be served in a couple of minutes. I really like the fast service here. I can get back to the office, finish my lunch and still have a half an hour to take a nap or catch up on some reading...or write a yelp review! I go to school part-time, so I need to make the most out of any free time I have. HKs across the street is good too, but sometimes the wait can be as long as 15-20 minutes. Unacceptable! Plates come with rice (50 cents extra for brown rice) and a choice of green or mac salad. I think you can get all rice if you want, but c'mon people, you really need to get some green veggies in your life! Some of my favorites include: shoyu pot roast, roast pork with gravy, garlic eggplant tofu, garlic mahimahi, chicken wings, and the teri beef saimin (for rainy days). The saimin broth is really tasty and the noodles are super fine. I just noticed I uploaded two pics of the roast pork with gravy...oops! Must be that good lol! The only thing I wouldn't order from them again is anything with shrimp in it. The garlic shrimp and the shrimp brocolli are still tasty, but they're kinda manini (stingy) with the shrimp. Parking is limited. They accept credit card. They have wifi. It's not high end cuisine, but they're good at what they do: decent food, huge servings for quick and cheap!

Nice little hole in the wall place. Fast service and tasty food. Good prices as well. They'll even let you create a combination from their daily specials. I loved the beef stew. Just what I was craving!

  • Matthew W.

my one stop shop for plate lunches. prices are fair and thy are usually fast from order to getting out your food. their menu includes Chinese foods along with all Hawaiian and Japanese favorites like lau lau, ahi/mahi, curry and beef stews. had the orange chicken last time around. it was phenomenal. portions out of this world. and the flavor matches panda express except its much better quality of meat in the breading. a must try if you like panda style orange chicken.

  • Amber R.

This place is awesome! Everything we've tried here is good. Nothing is ever disappointing. The teri chicken fried rice is def one of the best things on the menu, it is HUGE! And very tasty. Cheeseburgers, loco moco, chicken katsu and bentos are also very yummy. Only downfall is the parking. The lot only has about 4 stalls and limited street parking.

    (4)
  • David T.

Good plate lunches, very cheap prices, humongous portions. What more can you ask for? I really like their roast pork and their chicken plates. Everything I've tried has been pretty good, can't complain for the price and the portion. Not going to win any awards but it's still significantly better than L&L.

This place is AWESOME! Its better than L&L. workers are great and their food is best tasting fast Local food. Its a must try.

This place is the one of the Iolani school lunch hot spots. I've been coming to this place back when they were next to Pyramids. To begin with, their portions are bomb. If you order their fried rice (which I highly, highly recommend, at least once) you get one of those flat (not divided) plate lunch trays FILLED with fried rice. Oh sweet jeebuz is it delicious. While they also have other plate-lunch styled dishes (garlic chicken and mochiko chicken are my two other favorites) they also have some catering options, although I can't comment on those. In short, this is my absolute favorite spot for plate lunch in town (yep, it's above Rainbows in my book).

  • Ron L.

This place was my old place to kill-time when I had my motorcycle in for a service next door (Cycletech). I tried a bunch of the dishes, and I'm a big fan of their cooking. Although it appears to only be a plate-lunch place, it actually has a deep menu which includes many Chinese-style plates, including my favorite, "broccoli-beef." The cooks are from China, and it shows in their cooking. You can taste the authentic Chinese-style flavor in the food and there's no excess deep-frying or rich sauces (like PF Chang's). I definitely recommend it over HKs next door. The local plate-lunch items aren't impressive though.

    (4)
  • Daniel T.

The BBQ and mochiko chicken are great, but their fried rice is my favorite. Everything has been consistantly tasty. Prices are good and they give large portions. One of my favorite spots for plate lunch.

    (5)
  • Wade N.

Nothing special. Chicken Katsu is really good, as is the fried rice. Kal bi and BBQ chicken are really salty. Fried shrimp is the normal frozen kind. I had the Super Combo plus fried rice and a drink. Total was $15, so it's not cheap eats by any means.

  • Brooke R.

The first place my hubby and I went when we stepped off the plane was One Plus One Drive Inn. This is one of our favorite places for plate lunch. I ordered the BBQ plate which came with sticky rice, mac salad, chicken and steak. There was SO MUCH FOOD and my left-overs became that night's late-night post-party nosh. Just as good cold as it was when I first ordered it. The small portion would be considered a regular-sized portion, so don't feel like you have to order the regular.

    (5)
  • LO N.

This was my first time placing an order. I ordered their party pack and the amount that was given was more than accurate for the party size it was recommended for. Their prices are very reasonable and the food was very good. Everyone commented on how great the food tasted and asked where I ordered from. Definitely a must try if you haven't eaten here and if you need party packs...A definite recommendation.

I entered this place remembering a Korean BBQ with the best garlic chicken that was here when I lived in the area a few years ago. I was immediately suspicious as the menu looked quite different and the workers were no longer the Korean family that I remembered. The garlic chicken for this place was acceptable but nothing special. The mac salad was okay. I have had much better at many other places. Other then location if you like nearby I am not sure there are any redeeming qualities for this place. Maybe some of their other dishes are better, but I will likely not return to find out.

    (1)
  • Lauren S.

This place is pretty cheap and pretty delicious. Pretty big portions, tasty barbecue and sweet deals on plate lunches...and luckily it's right down the block from me! I'm digging it :) I'm a big fan of the cheeseburgers here honestly...one of the best I've had in a long while.

  • Aaron W.

I was gonna start with a negative here, but i might as well say that this place prob still has some of the best prices per serving for plate lunches, and everything is edible. And if i anyone would ever suggest to go there i would never put up a fight, but it's a far cry from where this name sake came from. I've been coming to this establishment when it was originally on Kapahulu Ave, unfortunately the original owners have either sold this establishment or have washed their hands of operations because it used to be a cleaner feeling establishment with more personalized service. Where you could sit down and be served your food, albeit in a plate lunch box, and ordering at the host who stayed at the register if they were busy. But it was nice like that. Where if you were a regular, and you wanted to chat with the owners they would talk. Sigh, now it's just another L&L look alike trying to pump out a plate lunch as fast as possible, in much dingier circumstances.

I was feeling kinda lazy after a hard days work, just wanted to pick something up to eat and go home. So I decided to pick up dinner to go on my way home at 1 + 1 Drive Inn. Ordered the garlic chicken, scoops of rice with mac salad. The garlic had a little punch, overall tastes like your basic garlic chicken plate.

  • Jyron S.

My go-to for a plate lunch in my neighborhood. The prices are reasonable and the food is solid. The food is not spectacular but very satisfying. The portions are huge and more often than not a regular size plate is usually enough for two meals. I often order the chicken katsu curry with curry sauce on the side, so that it's not soggy later. With the left-overs I make katsu-donburi bowl for dinner or lunch(the next day).

  • Brian A.

Looking for a pile of meat for cheap? Well, you've come to the right place. I had their basic bbq plate for under $8. It came with a ton of rice, one kalbi, one long strip of teriyaki beef, and two pieces of teriyaki chicken. The kalbi was good, but hella fatty. The teriyaki beef was okay. It came out dry, but that's probably because it was cut in a thin strip. The two pieces of chicken was alright also. Overall it was a good value. I mean, if you're really hungry and want something for under 8 bucks, then this is a good place to go. It also came with salad, but the meats pretty much over powered the basic little salad. What's funnier is my girlfriend had the hamburger steak and stew. When we opened it I couldn't figure out what is what. I took a bite of the hamburger with some sauce on it and told here that, "I'm not sure what I ate was the stew of the gravy." Pretty funny. It was a lot of food though. I think her's was just under $10. So, if you're looking to fill your belly with no frills local food. Go to One Plus One.

  • Shayna M.

Really good portions here! The fried rice is one of those ones where no matter how much you eat, it seems to never end. The food itself is pretty good and tasty, but I don't think it's worth it to come out of the way to come here. The parking is terrible and the fact that it's on a busy one way street makes it that much harder to get to. Also, one time I asked to "upgrade" and get fried rice instead of normal rice. There was an extra $2 charge, and my rice literally came fried. There was maybe a couple cheap veggies in there, but for the most part it was just rice that was tossed in oil. I guess you had to ask for charsiu or some other protein? I thought that was a pretty steep charge for rice that only cost about 25 cents more to make. Although the portions are good sized, I plan on sticking to L&L in the future.

  • Shanon S.

Ate an orange chicken plate here last night and since two am have been puking every few hours. Figure it's either the food here or a weird stomach flu type thing. Either way I don't think I'll be eating here again.

    (1)
  • Andy D.

Just a no-frills plate lunch place. While the service I experienced wasn't nearly as bad as other reviewers had, the food was definitely mediocre. Got a mochiko and garlic chicken combo, all rice. The price was reasonable, and you get a huge plate of food. The mochiko chicken was really bad. It didn't really have the usual flavoring. Instead it just tasted sweet and a little off. The garlic chicken was okay, even though I was expecting mitsu-ken/sugoi style garlic chicken. It had a strong strong garlic flavor. I'd suggest if you want a good plate lunch, head across the street to HK's.

This is a drive in real similar to an L&L. They have a lot of different variety of local style foods that can be mixed and matched. They do catering and pretty quick in making their food.

    (4)
  • Frank L.

One Plus One is a plate lunch place but there are big differences from L&L, which are all different because of franchising. One Plus One has huge portions. I spent 2 hours eating with a friend there once. We ate until we were full, talked for over and hour than ate the rest. Decent food. Go and try it if you're looking for a change.

I found this place by chance. My favorite dish there is the "Shoyu Pot Roast". It is not for those who are on a diet. Portions are big enough to make a local "buddha...., I mean bruddah" feel full. I also like their "Roast Pork Plate." Again, not a dish if you are trying to lose weight. Prices are on par with other "plate lunch" places. Parking can sometimes be a hassle since there are only a few stalls. Other than that, you can't go wrong with this place.

If you weren't paying attention when you go there, you'd think you were in L & L's but the food isn't as good. On the up side, they have a huge selection of food and they have all kinds of specials. While the portions are pretty substantial, the food isn't that tasty and the service leaves much to be desired. The last time I went there, the girl kept looking at me like I was retarded while I was deciding what I wanted to eat (I know I can give off that vibe sometimes, but if I'm your customer, at least pretend like you didn't notice!). With all the other options that you have in Mo'ili'ili, like HK's right across the street, it's not my first choice to satisfy myplate lunch cravings.

This place for the first time that I've been for the food is okay but I think it's pretty pricey! I tried other places that are much better than this place by far. But, for me I would try at least twice but my bf he said that the chicken is good and the beef is that great! I bought the beef I was so disappointed and I barely ate it. For the Laulau plate is alright but I feel that you can have better laulau too! I guess its everybody preferences, opinions, and especially experiences that REALLY counts! I believe....

I decided to try something new for lunch today and added the GARLIC CHICKEN to the hamburger steak I always order. Mixed plate styles! But I ended up scarfing down the fantastic garlicky goodness without even looking at my hamburger steak! Uh oh... new "flavorite"!!!

Any of the Chinese dishes are pretty good. I had the mini-eggplant with chicken and garlic. Came served with a scoop if rice and mac salad. Quite delicious and very generous portions. In the past I've really enjoyed both the mochiko chicken and chicken katsu at this place.

Just your normal plate lunch place. Their mochicko chicken is pretty good. Kalbi is fine. That's the only two things I've had. MInis are generally under $5 and regular plates are in the $6.50 - $7.50 range.

your average plate lunch restaurant. i go there 2 to 3 times a week to grab dinner. they are usually busy, but very efficient. i usually get garlic chicken (my favorite dish here), orange chicken (the sauce has lots of yummy garlic chunks) and bbq chicken. they have very generous portions and a small parking lot, which is convenient. they're not that friendly there, but i like hearing them bark your order in chinese into the microphone. they also have many many signs posted everywhere (where to order and pick up your food, where you can and cannot park in the lot, additional charges for brown rice, green salad on request, etc.) - it's amusing. lots of food for little money, fast - not bad at all for a plate lunch.

I'd say it's a smaller version of L&L. It has the same type of food, the same prices, and the same kind of people who work there. Strange. They do plate lunches, and party platters if you need them. The thing that sets them apart from L&L is the colors. The bright orange walls can be seen from the street. Check it out.

My favorites here are the mochiko chiken and the teri chicken fried rice. The fried rice is around $7 and feeds me for 4 meals! I kid you not! It is a huge portion. They have all your other typical plate lunches here. They also do catering. I don't really care for the parking lot. There are only a couple of stalls but if you don't mind walking, there is some street parking. They share a small parking lot with a small liquor store. The place also isn't the classiest or cleanest. I always pick up my food to go. Overall, not a must but it's convenient for me so it makes my list!

The food is good for the price, as they give you so much! Comes out fresh & hot, with awesome presentation. Good seating, as well as air condition. The only fault...sticky tables. Needs to be wiped down with pledge or something. Lol.

dollar for dollar, this is one of the best local-type plate lunch food places around. you can't beat the portions and the value is good due to the quality and aforementioned prices. the menu is diverse enough, where you can find something you'll enjoy without too much trouble. now ok, this place is just NOT the place for you if you are trying to lose weight, but being skinny is overrated and besides, isn't it more important to be happy? LOL anyway, good go-to items are loco moco, bbq chicken, hamburger steak, and/or chicken cutlet. the chicken cutlet and katsu are pretty much the same except for the gravy/sauce - I'm not really a fan of their katsu sauce so I typically go with chicken cutlet. mini-plates offer a good price/portion alternative too, unless you're really hungry. parking can be limited since they share with the liquor store next door.

This is a good place for picking up take out lunch/dinner. The food served here is Chinese style local plate lunch. I personally like the roast pork. Possibly the best in town. (that I know of) Parking is real tight so, good luck. Service is fair and wait is not too long. Good portions & prices too. If you found good parking and would like to dine in, they have a section with a few tables & chairs to do so. Not the best but, if you're really hungry, you can...

I would say this is another one of my favotire takeout places with good value for the buck. Some of my faves include the cold ginger chicken, cheeseburger deluxe wth crunchy fries, & spicy eggplant. Brown rice is available too.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
