For me, Ninja Sushi is all about the maki. I might get a udon noodle on the side, but I really came for those rolls. Most maki have either a california roll or spicy ahi as a base, but they also have shrimp tempura, salmon, and soft shell crab, the variations come from what you get on top. Good quality fast food, take out sushi, made to order, so call ahead to avoid the wait during peak periods.

Came here on a weekday night to get my sushi fix. I read in some reviews the service (cashier) ain't that great, but I received fast and friendly service. The interior has recently been remodeled so everything was clean. I ordered the tiger roll- breaded shrimp, cucumber, and imitation crab roll topped with spicy ahi, tobikko, green onion and sauces. I liked the roll, but the spicy ahi isn't really spicy and they use a lot of rice. I also ordered maguro nigiri and salmon nigiri. The quality and taste was that expected of a fast food sushi place. I'll probably come back since it's located close to where I live, nothing tasted bad, and the service was quick.

Every time I come here I forget that it's a franchise sushi place. The rolls are good, not to expensive. It's a great take out sushi place. Not an extravagant place. You get what you pay for, and this is better than most other places you spend 40 bucks on dinner for two.

Need a quick Sushi fix by the Airport? Located in the AIPA Shopping Plaza, it's convenient & fairly fast @ orders, however be prepared for the daily lunch surge. They recently remodeled the inside dining room. It's small w/ a capacity of maybe 30 people max, but looks great & there's always outside seating around Starbucks or down the hall near Korean BBQ.

This is my go to place for sushi before I head back to the airport in Honolulu. The prices are more than Aloha Sushi, but the quality of the fish is better. I usually get the Salmon Lover and a few handrolls to go, and I'm set. Parking is easy as it is in a big strip mall with pizza and other dining options (Jamba Juice and Starbucks). They even have kids bentos which my mom really likes to get. Overall, fast service, decent prices, and they pack everything up nicely, so I can't complain.

I've been coming here for years, mainly because it's the most convenient Ninja Sushi location for me. The sushi's good for a fast food type sushi restaurant and the service is usually good. PROS: +Birthday Club: You receive a $10 gift certificate on your birthday month when you sign up. +Good Sushi, good selection CONS: -Small portions -Customer service is inconsistent (most times good but there are a few employees who are not very approachable and aren't that friendly) -Pricey (most popular maki items are around $9 FAVORITES: +Superman maki +Tako Yaki +Poke Bento TIPS: +Call your order in if you're planning to go during lunch. The line can get long during lunch and there usually aren't enough tables and chairs for everyone during that time. +Try the Superman! If I had written this review a couple of years ago, I would've gave them 4 stars for sure. The level of customer service has gone down over the years, which is why I'm giving them 3 stars. They used to have their "regular" employees who gave great customer service and took pride and ownership in the business. They still employ those individuals but they've also hired a couple of new employees who are not very keen in the customer service area. There's a young man who will barely make eye contact, doesn't smile, barely acknowledges the customers and doesn't thank anyone. Their food isn't bad so I tolerate this decreased customer service level and Ninja Sushi continues to be popular for many airport area employees.

Decent sushi, good price. Nothing terribly special. Order from the counter and they bring it out to you. Can't see the chef making rolls, so not terribly satisfying experience.

  • Mike And Leslie B.

The sushi was very good. I had the dragon and she had tempura shrimp with come sushi. Menu has a huge selection, which is great. We didn't care for the dirty walls (pictures attached) because a failure to notice or fix thiz means shortcuts might occur elsewhere. We hope not because the food was great. Hard tile under the table is recommended... Easily washable.

Don't waste your money. Used to be good. Now every time I go there, I regret it. Won't go back again. Bland ingredients , not sure how they do it

On nights that I don't feel like cooking, and I want to wallow on my couch in misery either about my bad day at work our about the fact that I didn't go anywhere better for sushi, this place adequately hits the spot for a sushi craving. I have never dined in here, and have always grabbed take out, but they have quite a few seats for those who want to dine in, and I always see people enjoying their meals. The menu is pretty expansive and they offer everything from bentos to poke bowls to donburis to maki and more. They also offer mochi ice cream and other treats if that's what floats your boat. The prices are pretty reasonable and the size of the rolls are pretty hefty so you don't need more than about two rolls to fill you up. My favorites are usually the Superman and the Spicy Ahi Negris which I could pop like little donuts (which is not a good thing). This is definitely not top notch sushi, but its fresh, will not have you spending the night praying to the porcelain god, and a good option instead of ordering pizza and having the lady look at you like "oh you again?"

  • Christina M.

Ninja Sushi is pretty good been here a few times now and everything was as ordered tasted fresh and was very good. I just wish they'd put the wasabi inside the rolls as I'm used to it that way!!! Try it prices aren't too bad a little higher than down the street but not bad for sushi!!

  • Alicia D.

Been waiting for over 45 minutes! Who has only one person working when it's rush hour?? Not going here anymore or risk waiting another 45 minutes?!

Came here for a quick lunch which came out way quicker than it should. I'm not complaining but more surprised if anything. There was a super long line and after we ordered and sat down, the food was already out. I had the spicy ahi bento which came with spicy ahi over rice, nigiri sushi and some pickled cucumbers. The highlight of this bento was the pickled cucumbers. That's pretty bad. The ahi didn't even resemble ahi anymore and it was more shredded fish - if it was even fish lol. The nigiri wasn't really edible and the 2nd best part was the tamago. I might try something else before I make a real decision about this place but so far, it's not a destination spot for me.

  • Phil V.

Usually get the tempura donburi...it's pretty good. Tried their other sushi and it's kinda like genki sushi small kine.... Only downfall is small dinning area, esp when it gets busy, no where to sit

I come here for lunch at least 3 days a week. Maybe it's because I'm a regular but the staff are always really nice and fast. I would give five stars, and the fish is really good and fresh, but it's just not a high class sushi joint. I feel like it's the healthiest option in the airport area and that's the main reason I go here. One thing I really do like is that it's right next to a Jamba Juice and a Starbucks.

    (4)
  • Ina T.

no takoyaki today :( but sushi is always good here. I got the T dragon today and it's starting to head to the top of the list for my favs. I used to get the superman all the time but I tried changing it up and I really like this one. Takoyaki is my absolute fav though.

  • Charlotte Y.

Great sushi new interior and great food for reasonable prices! The curry is pretty good nice and thick and flavorful. My son loves the egg nigiri and they're always so nice about warming it up since it usually comes cold. The superman roll is a local favorite filled with spicy tuna topped with finely Julienne potato crisps! Can't forget the secret ingredients which is still a secret!!!! Ninja pacs are a hot seller coming with different varieties and priced well at less than 9.00. And nice service!

I'm a ninja sushi fan for a while. They are convenient and usually great food quality. So I had to grab quick lunch so I decided to try this location since I was close by. Went in to order my usual spicy ahi donburi. Immediately faced with horrible customer service at the cash register. The cashier had a snarky attitude and kept rolling his eyes at me as if my request was unreasonable. Food-wise, the portions were a bit smaller than I remember it. The bowl had rice but only a small amount of spicy ahi :( [sad face since I was looking forward to lunch after a horrible morning] Overall, the food was okay but probably won't be returning again. Save your money and try another ninja branch instead.

  • Trisha G.

Customer service: awesome. Someone took my order and when I asked the girl at the cash register she realized the mistake and quickly remedied the situation. It is always nice to be treated like an important customer especially at a place that could easily dismiss me. Food: My standard order is the Superman roll, which is a large California roll topped with spicy ahi and crispy bits of wonderfulness. The added crunch adds a nice layer of flavor to the roll. In short, yummy place for a quick sushi fix.

Went here for lunch today. Got their Kalbi-Chicken bento set. Quick, affordable and tasted good. I just don't have it in me to rate bento sets higher than a 3 so... A-OK says Keith K. :-)

  • Michelle S.

Okay so my negative review is due to the portion sizes they offer. I went there today to order salmon sashimi and was told by the cashier that they just take the salmon from the nigiri and serve it without the rice which I thought was fine. I ordered 9 pieces. Well, when I received my order, it looked as if they took maybe 3 or 4 of the nigiri salmon pieces and sliced those into my 9 pieces... REALLY?? The salmon bites (is what I would call them) didn't even come close to satisfying my hunger... I noticed that I am not the only one who has complained about their portion sizes... hmmm maybe that should be a sign???!!!! Whatever.

    (2)
  • Chris L.

I didn't know that they learned how to make sushi in ninja training. Good thing though, because this place makes some really good sushi. Try the spicy ahi nagiri, it's kind of messy, but that's because they heap the ahi way up on it. We are fans of this place and you should be too.

    (4)
  • Anjelika J.

Ordered 3 different handrolls at a pretty high price... Wouldn't have minded the price had the rolls not had the nori smashed on there and mushy! Looked like my 4 year old made it herself and then let it sit there for a day! Chewy nori is gross! You have the nerve to sell sushi like that at any price!

    (1)
  • Scott N.

My main complaint with this place is that the portions are TINY. I thought McDonalds was bad how they exaggerated the size of their burgers in the pictures, but holy crap at this place the pictures of the food are small and the real life portions are fricken microscopic. I spent 10 bucks on a mix donburi that had a tiny splat of spicy ahi and a 1 x 3 inch piece of unagi that I literally ate in one bite. Do not get any of the donburi or combination plates unless you want to experience the underwhelming portions at an overwhelming price. The salad and sushi rolls seem to be the only things on the menu that are relatively worth it (still expensive). Yeah, the quality of food is good but for the price and portions you get... PASS. Basically my point is I dont think ill ever come back unless someone else is driving and Im forced to. I dont even know why Im giving a second star really.

Got a superman for my daughter & a scallop dynamite for my friend.. Both were winners. Definitely worth it. Flavors were great and staff was super friendly..

Wow. Just landed and this was the first place we hit up for a quick lunch. The prices are extremely reasonable and the service was great. We ordered the poke and 2 cut rolls. The poke was the best I've had so far and the rolls were perfect balance of sweet spice and not too much rice. I was very pleased!

    (5)
  • Erin P.

We had the scallop dynamite and tiger rolls, which were very tasty. The guy behind the counter was not eager to assist us. They have a menu out that doesn't describe what is in the rolls and I had to ask what was in a few and then asked if they had a menu that listed what was in each roll and lo and behold they do have one. Apparently you must ask for it? Regardless, sushi was tasty so they get 4 stars.

    (4)
  • B. Jane C.

I ordered Poke Salad, and they ONLY gave me 10 pieces of poke. I paid 9.00 for 10 pieces. That's such a rip off. Why not give the same amount of poke as poke donburi.

Quick place to pick up sushi to go or eat in, nice service. But hot sauce was extra .52 cents

  • Nat W.

Very convenient location next to the airport. They have decent food...it is nothing special but I love that they have nigiri, rolls, hand rolls and bento box. 3pc Nigiri is $5-6. Bento runs about $10-12. Hand roll is $2.5-$3. They are kind of expensive and rather small portion. The cashier person was very nice.

If you're coming from or going to HNL & need a bite, this is a good stop. IMO better than Genki. Is this my go to sushi stop? No. Would I rather eat their food than airplane food? Yes. Will it do when hungry after a flight & too starving to make it to town? Yes.

I absolutely love the crunchy shrimp maki!!! Delicious!!! I always call it in to make sure it's fresh!

I decided to go to Ninja sushi on Sunday after stopping at my usual Sushi place not knowing they were closed on Sundays. Overall experience was awesome. When we first pulled up the dinning was packed and quite a line to get in and order. However, the line moved very quickly and it felt no longer than 5 minutes which was incredible for the amount of people in front of us. So don't be scared if there's a line. Due to the tight schedule at work we weren't able to sit down and eat, on that note there are also a few tables outside to eat in case inside is full. We ordered a typical spicy ahi poke bowl which was awesome but could've been a little bit more generous on the ahi for the $9 spent on it but still fullfilling and worth it. Definitely reccomend if near the airport, and the gentlemen in front seemed very nice and welcoming to everyone. Great service great food ;)

  • Alice N.

Handrolls are always fresh and yummy. Prices are tiny bit high at the airport area but better than inside the airport. They give free wasabi and ginger and shoyu.

We spent over $100 for an order and I specially asked for avocado roll with no cucumber. To my horror while checking on the order in the car- the avocado roll had cucumber. I walked back and told the big Korean guy. He glared at me and gave it to the sushi lady. It came back to me a minute later- same roll but they just took out the cucumber so the pieces were all broken and the avocado looked liked like wasabi (that's how little avocado there was). I was mad. I went back and told the guy. "Seriously? I specifically asked for no cucumber and they make it wrong and decide that just poking out the cucumber and giving this to a customer would be acceptable?" He glared at me and said something in Korean to the lady and she gave me stink eye. I will never go back to this location of ninja sushi.

Open til 9pm. Hamachi bento 10 pieces $12.50. Love getting my sushi fix here. It's fresh and fast. It's a bit pricey here but well worth it. G

Highly disappointed I'm a big sushi fan so I was really excited that this place was with in walking distance from my hotel the sushi itself had way to much rice, was falling apart and all three rolls that we ordered were bland

I usually get their bentos with the teriyaki chicken and spicy ahi. This was my first time at this location, since I usually go to the Kapahulu location. It can get extremely crowded during lunch time. I feel like no matter where you sit in there, you're always in someone's way. If possible, they should add more tables outside for their customers to utilize and avoid the messy crowd. As we were finishing up our meal, we noticed the trash was overflowing. I notified the worker and she told us that she'd throw our food away after she empties the trash. Also, the worker wasn't doing anything at the counter when I approached her, so I'm a little surprised she didn't notice the overflowing trash. The prices are a little higher and their portions seem smaller (or maybe it was just the specific item we ordered). Who knows. I'll probably come here when I have a sushi craving while at work. Otherwise, I need familiarize myself with other restaurants in the Mapunapuna area.

Rolled in there on a 30 min lunch break. Ordered the spicy tuna donburi. Came out in less than 3 minutes. Amazingly quick service and the counter ladies are really nice.

  • Jeff C.

There is nothing worse than a vendor that says no to a consumer. I watched as a customer wanted to swap veggie for salmon and were willing to pay the difference and the register person said no. Hint hint: the customer is always right and should have it their way, especially if they want to pay for it. Other than that sushi was awesome.

    (3)
  • Sheena P.

Yummy fresh sushi! It was very fast friendly service. Prices are a little high for the portion size but considering they were open on Easter Sunday with no crazy lines and plenty of parking I can't really complain. All in all I'll definitely be coming back!

    (5)
  • Nina U.

Ninja is still my favorite fast food sushi. I definitely don't go for the atmosphere or the table service (you order and pick up at the counter) but this is my go-to snack plea. Spicy ahi temaki roll and a spicy vegetable roll will be $5 and a few cents. That's the best!

    (4)
  • Food C.

Picked up some sushi here a couple times just to pick up a sushi snack to go. Sushi is not too bad price and pretty good. They have a good the selection of sushi.

  • Cecily C.

Food is tasty but portions are minuscule and not worth the price. Poor value. The dish I ordered came in a dish smaller in size than my Jenny Craig portion controlled dish. I mean it was tiny. Cost was almost 10.00. Two stars because it was tasty with unagi, spicy tuna and avocado on rice with sauce and tobiko. Steady crowd of customers. But if you are hungry look elsewhere.

  • Jane L.

I love ninja sushi. The spicy ahi salad is my favorite I love the dressing. I was just bummed that they didn't have that unsweetened green tea anymore. The service is fairly quick if its not rush hour.

If you're looking for a place to go for a quick bite, this is the place to go. Workers are fast enough to get the orders out. The establishment is small with limited seating. It's pretty mellow around 7pm unless you catch the time when other families start coming out for dinner. One time my friend and I were here, that moment felt like it was kids' day out! There were a bunch of cute little kids, one or two glanced, smiled, and waved at me while I'm chowing down on my spicy ahi! An OK place to go satisfy your sushi cravings in a non-fancy setting.

  • Marcus B.

I love sushi. And this place is really close. I go there a lot and I'm sure they probably get tired of me cause I'm there so much. But I cannot get enough. The staff are real friendly and are helpful (especially when I want to try something different). The only bad thing I could say is (it's not really bad) I wish the store was bigger.

  • Michele K.

I was disappointed only because there was a piece of hair in my sushi!! Without the hair I would definitely give it at least a 3.5! I ordered the superman ($8.50) which has spicy tuna and then some more ahi on top of the roll with hot sauce! It comes with potato crisps on top! Super intense! It was a bit too flavorful for me because of the hot sauce, but I was definitely a fan of the potato crisps! It gave a crunchy edge to the sushi! Nice workers, good selection, large parking lot! It's right next to the airport.. I would rather eat at ninja sushi than buy anything at the airport!!! I will definitely come back next time I'm in Hawaii to give this place another try! Hopefully I don't find anything strange in my sushi this time!

  • Ira J.

Ninja Sushi makes some pretty spectacular sushi rolls. One roll is big enough to make a meal for most people. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. At lunchtime, they are usually pretty busy and grabbing a table can be a challenge. On paper they look great. I cannot quite put my finger on why I do not get excited about Ninja Sushi. Maybe it's that I like to mix up my sushi selections, and at Ninja Sushi I always get one roll as my entire meal. Doing this provides me with a big enough meal but not enough variety, I think.

My cuzn was in the area and I would normally go to Genki Sushi, but my cuzn was picking up dinner this night. I ordered the dynamite roll, 3pc salmon nigiri, and the chicken karaage bowl. All 3 was a mistake and I take it all of their sushi would be the same. The salmon was dry and looked old, the dynamite roll was like a bunch or rice stuck together with whatever orange stuff topped on it of which I took 1 bite and pushed the rest aside to throw away. And the worst was the chicken karaage which was like rehydrated square cubes of "some" type of meat that was reheated. Their location is by the airport, but I would not figure their food would taste like airline food if not worse. Worst of all is that comparably, Genki sushi is cheaper by the menu prices and way better. I know Genki 's sushi is freshly made if I do a take out order either by drive thru in Pearl city or at the counter by the Stadium. I drool everytime I think of their karaage chicken. Im sticking to Genki Sushi and hope and pray I dont get a stomach ache tonight.

This place is delicious. The prices are fair and reasonable. The fish tastes fresh and yummy. The only thing I don't like this place is that its really tiny and has limited seating. Other than that, I will definitely come here for my sushi. (:

If you need lunch on the go this is the spot. Occasionally we will have time to sit and dine in. Keep in mind this place has a crazy lunch rush but the staff keeps that line pumping and the food serving!

I first went to Ninja sushi because well, it's right next to Starbucks. For lunch, I can make one stop and grab two of my favorite things- sushi & an iced venti latte. I didn't realize I was going here a lot until the cook was able to make my order as soon as I walked in the door. So what do I always get? The Negitoro Maki-mono. It's always fresh, never fishy tasting and relatively inexpensive. Sometimes, I pair a couple of Negitoro hand rolls with a Soba Sushi Bento set which is just filling enough for lunch. For a really light lunch or snack, I'll have the Ahi poke Donburi- which is consistently really good but not filling enough for even the littlest Japanese girl. I can literally finish their donburis in 10 minutes and be on my way. When throwing or attending the occasional sake and sushi party, I always order my sushi platters from here. Both the OLTD and Samurai sets have a really good assortment of sushi and are reasonably priced for what you get. The Aloha set can also be good for those party-goers who are not so much into raw fish. 2 or 3 platters would be more than enough for 7-8 hungry guys. There is tons of parking at the Airport Industrial Center. And the bathrooms are located within the center, to the left of Ninja Sushi. Just ask them for the 3-digit bathroom code. Don't expect the other Ninja Sushis to taste the same. After trying the Bishop Street and Kailua locations, this Ninja Sushi by the airport is by far the best tasting.

Decent and convenient. If you are judging just on food. Spicey Ahi bowls are better at Fresh catch and Sushi Company. Same can be said for every item on the menu I have tried. So why would you come here? It's good, reasonably priced, and the c-word. Convenient.

I was looking for a half way decent place to eat with a friend by the airport and stumbled across this little hole in the wall place. It was sort of dine in, sort of take out. My friend got the Unagi Don, I got the Spicy Ahi Don, and we ordered one order of the Garlic Salmon Nigiri for the heck of it. To my surprise, I was quite impressed with the food! Granted the portions were a bit small for the price, but very tasty and it really hit the spot. The spicy ahi was more like a negitoro type of mix, with the mashed fish mixed with some spice. The garlic ahi was lightly seared, quite tasty, and very garlicy...just the way it should be. Oh, the nigiri come in sets of three instead of the customary two. It is conveniently located on the way to the airport and it will be very tempting to stop there on my way out of town...mmm! Happy Eating!

Excellent fresh sushi. Yes, yes, and YES. Love this place. Quick service and great menu. Not a lot of seating inside. Seems like a place where people come to pick up lunch and take it to go. I had miso soup, mixed greens with incredible tasting dressing -- I wished it was bigger b/c it was so good, and the traditional pickled cucumbers, ginger and wasabi. My main dish was spicy tuna over a bed of rice. The portions are probably what a "serving size" should be but it didn't fill me up. Total cost was about 8 bucks ... but I have to say it was worth it b/c it was quality food. If you are a sushi lover ... give it a roll ;)

My daughter and I love the Superman roll: Spicy ahi on top of a sushi roll with a deep fried shrimp tempura (ok, I guess that's a bit redundant), sprinkled with fried onion crisps, green onion, and drizzled with a sweet chili sauce and teriyaki sauce. Yum! Except my daughter says that the texture of the fried onions is unnecessary. She says its like eating toenails. I swear, I've never fed her toenails...must be her father's side. Once we ordered the tempur and curry donburi. We decided we didn't like that at all. The problem was that they used sushi rice in the donburi--so it had the rice vinegar flavor on/in it. And then mixed with the curry sauce...it just didn't mesh well. I'm used to eating my curry with regular rice--not sushi rice. They do get VERY busy during the typical weekday lunch hours. I find that calling in a phone order helps. The staff is normally friendly and courteous. When I went last week, they had the yogurt up and running, but no toppings out...just sauces. Didn't get a chance to try it though. Personally, I think they should maybe stick to what they do best. I trust fro-yo shops to be good at fro-yo and sushi joints to be good at sushi. Just a thought...

The Sushi was good. I had the Rainbow Roll and the Dragon Roll. I would say it was great, but I like my Sushi cold. These rolls were room temperature. I felt this was one of the dirtiest places I've ever been. Windows, floors, trash cans, and especially the walls. They looked like food had been splattered about the place and was never cleaned. The soy sauce on my table looked as though its been refilled 25 times without cleaning. Cleanliness ruined my visit. I won't return.

Ok, just so you will take a chance, and leave the safety of the airport for 30 or 40 min, I will take the time to review this place. It's a 5 min walk. Great sushi, in a fast-food type setting. It is small, with only a half dozen tables or so. There are pictures of all of the dishes (tons) to the right of the register, so take your time selecting exactly what you want. I have been completely happy with every dish I have ordered here... from Ikura roe, to the scallops (which I love here) to the natto... it's all good. The staff sometime sucks and I have found them a few times being totally indifferent and crappy at their jobs... but you can tell the owner takes great pride in the presentation, cleanliness, and operations of his store... just needs to do some attitude adjusting or firing. Mapquest it. It is surprisingly close (waling distance) and worth facing the security line again. Oh, and BTW, it is freaking freezing in there. Perfect place to get out of the sun.

This is a great place if you want some sushi fast for a good price. It's a great lunch spot for sure. The food is always made fast and for the most part pretty well too. I wouldn't go here if you the best and top quality sushi, but like I said before, it's a prefect place for a quick lunch or meal.

I work in the airport area, so it's important for me to have a diverse mixture of fine, quick eating establishments in the nearby perimeter. As it is, Ninja Sushi is one of my go-to places for a delicious peak in my normally dismal work day. The location is excellent: it's right off of Paiea in the Airport Center, right next to a Starbucks/Jamba Juice if you're thirsty. There's also a huge parking lot, so you don't have to worry about not finding parking, especially on that side of the strip mall. I was sad to find that there were no ninja dwarves working in the back making sushi (I peeked), but they do have a cute mascot that you can "look at" while you are waiting in the long lines they sometimes have at lunch. There is one thing I consistently order here and that's their Superman roll. It's the height of sweet & spicy sushi love--absolutely delicious. It's so good and dripping with the "sweet chili/teri sauce" that I almost never have to bathe it in my usual puddle of wasabi'd up shoyu goodness. If you want to know what's in it...Kryptonite for humans. I can't help but envelop the whole thing in my mouth and shed three tears when it's all gone (and I'm dying for more). It's also Kryptonite because if your coworker brought some to the lunch table w/o you knowing he went, it makes you turn green with envy watching him devour a Superman when you know you want one too. Oh and the fried potato/onion strips on top of it are awesome...if that's what toenails taste like (as one reviewer called them), I'll be working on my leg flexibility. For diversity I sometimes get a side order gyoza, cuz gyoza always good. But, irregardless of whether Superman is your favorite superhero or not, get his sushi roll, cuz it'll crank your soulja boy somethin' good. YOU!!!!!!

I love the tofu salad and tako yaki? Service here is always good. And the location is in a perfect area right down the street from where I work.

Ninja Sushi is just okay. It's not great, but it's not horrible. It's a great place to go if you're in a rush, and want sushi! I personally like their bentos. Their bentos is a great way to get a little bit of everything at the right price! It comes with a few california roll pieces, ebi nigiri, ahi nigiri, etc. Their spicy ahi bento is great. This location is perfect for those working near the airport. Lots of parking (it does get busy during lunch hour) and near other food joints so if you have co-workers who'd rather eat something else, there's other choices! The only con I see with Ninja Sushi is that you'll always leave the restaurant smelling like sushi. The sushi smell is extremely strong here.

DON"T do it! Took my family there and wasted our money. They have a slogan about their RICE, and you'll get a lot of that. Many other places around the island with much better sushi and donburi bowls. I ordered the Spicy Ahi Donburi Bowl and like I said, I received a lot of RICE and about two tablespoons of donburi. DON'T' DO IT!

I really love Ninja Sushi. I've been here twice, and enjoyed it both times. The serving sizes are perfect for a light but filling meal. They are quick with their service, and they seem to always hit the mark. Their selection is great, and their fish tastes fresh. The prices are also very reasonable. They don't have a lot of seating, but you can tell this is a grab-and-go type of place, especially being located right by the airport. This is the best sushi place I have found with close proximity to Hickam. I also like this location because my husband doesn't like sushi, but L&L and Big Kahunas Pizza is in the same shopping center.

Horrible experience. I ordered the Chicken Curry- (ok, sushi place, I know), it was soooo salty- almost like they split the salt shaker in there. I can honestly say, that is the first time I ever sent food back. I will say this, they did exchange my food- (although the manager said that their curry is always a little salty), got a chicken donburi, which was very skimpy-- will never go back there again.

Fresh sushi, polite service, and friendly staff. It's near my work place, so we order from Ninja Sushi at least once a week. They are polite even on the phone! They are also pretty good about not leaving your food behind. They make sure you have everything in your to-go bag and double check for you. Fast service on Friday! Lunch time gets a little busy, so call ahead of time :)

Very pricey but I love their dynamite maki! This was the reason why I started eating sushi. I never used to eat anything raw but my friend made me try this and I fell in love with it. Definitely worth trying!

Delicious sushi at a decent price. I've been to several Ninja Sushi restaurants, and this, by far, is the most consistent and delicious. The staff is friendly and will always give you good service. Plus, you can't beat that you can get Bubbie's mochi ice cream to top off your sushi feast. Their party platters are always a hit at potlucks, too! Here are some of my faves: -Superman roll (super ono!) -curry chicken donburi -Any of the ninja packs (i personally like the spicy ahi ninja pack) -Spicy ahi salad (they use real, field greens at this one, not just iceberg lettuce)

It's take out sushi, yes, but the rolls are very good, and they're pretty quick to come. I was working around the corner from Ninja Sushi and had their food a couple times. I wasn't ever disappointed. The rolls are huge and very tasty, though they're probably the farthest from traditional sushi I've ever had.

I saw a sign on their door that indicated they were closed. However, I saw several customers eating inside, so I walked in. I went straight to the counter and told an employee that the sign on the door should be turned around. I then ordered a Spicy Ahi Bento Set, which consists of Spicy Ahi on rice, two pieces of California roll, and one piece each of Ebi, Maguro, and Tamago nigiri. After submitting my order, the employee went to the door and turned the sign around. Upon closer inspection, I noticed something was wrong with the sign. I had to laugh and, of course, take a picture of it to post on Yelp. Anyway, the sushi was pretty good and reasonably priced.

So I was dropping a friend off at the airport and we needed some fast food sushi, so we dropped into Ninja sushi and it was a good experience. Ninja Sushi is located literally next to the airport in the Airport Trade center with a lot of other restaurants (L&L's,Starbucks,Jamba Juice, Blimpie, Korean BBQ ...) and has plenty of free parking. This was my first time to this chain, they have 9 total on Oahu. I was pleasantly surprised with the bright clean atmosphere and the size and diversity of the picture menu (I love picture menus). The prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly. I thought the food was on par with Aloha sushi and equivalent fast food sushi places. I'd say 3.5 stars, for clean, fast, large selection of decent sushi, bring the prices down a bit and it would be a solid 4 stars. Enjoy... TIPS: If you like this place, there are 9 total on Oahu / they have a website, but not a full menu on it / Free WIFI in the area

Okay, so I finished my spicy ahi bento and still wanted more. This isn't a good thing, Ninja Sushi!! Not sure who you are designing these portions for but no one I know would be satisfied with your miniature bentos when they cost $10 a piece.

Usually I love this place. It comes out fast, cheap, and beautiful, just the way I like it. Unfortunately, this time, there was something wrong with the quality of the ingredients. I got my usual, the Superman maki, which was good and decent. and I tried the Shogun Don, which is rice with Avocado, spicy ahi, ikura, green onion, and unagi. Both for about $8 Where can I start to complain about the ingredients? The only thing decent was the rice. The avocado was rotting and brown, and very hard and flavorless. The unagi tasted like it had been in the fridge too long--you know that bland kind of freezerlike taste? And was sliced so that it was all fat, and very hard and rubbery in texture. I gave it to my dog. The spicy ahi was actually all right, if eaten with greenonion. And I don't like the fishiness of ikura to begin with but this was an explosion of fishy. Not cool, ninja sushi, you have let down an otherwise loyal customer. Don't let it happen again!

You know what's pretty good here...the udon. Yes, I've had udon in the awesom"est" of Japanese restaurants here...and I still dream of the tenpura udon served in Tokyo train stations...but... When I'm craving something tasty, fast and pretty cheap...I stop by Ninja on my way home. Why do I like it so much?: Aside from what I mentioned above, it's on the salty side. I like that. Kitsune udon is my favorite...sweet aburage and salty dashi...mmmmm....YES...I swell to the size of a baby beluga the next day, but it's okay, once in awhile no? What else do I like: The fact that I can get some temaki rolls on the side of my udon, all for around $10...yay... You won't like it if: You are craving "fresh" udon noodles, you don't like your food too salty, and you'd rather sit down and enjoy your slurping in a fancier setting.

Do not come here to order anything with KALBI, SPAM, or TERI CHICKEN because they are all MICROWAVED. The spam does not look cooked at all. The kalbi usually comes in a bento and a rice bowl but it is so not worth paying $9+ for because the kalbi is dry and shredded. Also, they give small portions of spicy ahi - do not be fooled by the pictures! For example, the picture of the Spicy Ahi Salad on the menu shows that the salad comes with two scoops of ahi, BUT once you get the salad you will only see half a scoop of ahi hidden in a bead of spring mix. Must I mention that the spicy ahi salad is over $9 - so not worth it! Don't get the Dynamite Maki either because all you're going to taste is mayo, yuck! I feel like they also charge for everything - even if you ask them for a side of chili sauce. The only things I would recommend ordering are the Superman, the Poke Salad, and the Ninja Pac 1.

Ninja Sushi is easily one of the better sushi spots on the island. But, much like that streaky player you have on your fantasy football team (I'm looking at you, Chad Ochocinco) each trip is an adventure. Some days (like today) it's conpletey on point. Everything is fresh, it comes out quickly, and it's reasonable - well, for sushi standards and portions. Other times, I'd be better off getting it from a conveyor belt. The Airport location usually gets it right a majority of the time, but I'll knock off a star due to inconsistency. 4/5 - but definitely worth a try. Or two.

I'm a big fan of Ninja Sushi, but this particular one is okay. Service was okay. Sometimes they're friendly, sometimes they're not. I always come to Ninja Sushi for the spicy ahi donburi. It is always something that I get from Ninja Sushi, but this location does not live up to the standards of their well known spicy ahi donburi. It used to be $7.99 and the price was raised to a dollar more which is understandable. Several times I have purchased the spicy ahi donburi from here and all I can say is where is the spicy ahi? The amount of spicy ahi they put does not even compare to how much rice they put. To give you a better idea, the spicy ahi doesn't even cover half of the rice in the container. I usually try to avoid this location for that reason, but if I'm gonna have to pay almost nine dollars for spicy ahi, please give me my money's worth. I usually go to either the one at Westridge Shopping Center or Mililani because they actually put a decent amount. All the other things here are good, but the spicy ahi portions need work. A little disappointed, but what can you do?

All I can say is amazing! Ninja Sushi is a major staple in my diet. They always get it right. Consistent is the way they roll! I'm hooked on the Superman roll. I also love the T-dragon and dynamite rolls too. I've tied the poke and a few of their bowls and they are all delicious. Just great sushi all the time. It's not fancy, just quick and convient. Plus, they always have orange Vitamin Water. You can't go wrong.

Still remains good for most maki. While their nigiri is a HUGE step above standard issue strip mall fare, don't go here expecting a master chef. I love their poke salad with the two dressings too -- nice way to get your greens while not compromising on taste. Now when is Ninja Sushi opening on the mainland?

I love Ninja Sushi! I've eaten at this particular location several times & whatever my husband or I order has been consistently ono. We did venture to the Pearlridge location across from Anna Miller's twice & they don't give as much poke as the Paiea location. I always order the Poke Salad which is pretty big & awesomely delicious! My 6-year-old loves the 8 oz. shoyu poke and that's all he'll eat, that and his Orange Dream Jamba Juice which is next door. The staff are super friendly & if you're dining in, they'll bring your order to your table. My husband, who is more adventurous than I am, has ordered the Superman, Rainbow & a few other rolls I can't remember & has loved them all. I'd 100% recommend Ninja Sushi Paiea location. I'd eat there every day if I could!

Good sushi at a reasonable price. If I'm ever asked to attend a potluck dinner or lunch, I usually hit up Ninja Sushi at the Airport Center. $30 for a 42 piece Maki set and I'm good to go. Really good service, friendly and attentive staff makes Ninja Sushi a great place for take out sushi.

i've eaten ninja's fancy rolls before but this was the first time i tried their spicy ahi and it wasn't very good. it was just spicy but no other taste, it actually was kinda bland. the bf went so far as to tell me that this was the worst spicy ahi he's tasted. it was expensive too for the portion (we both got combo bentos which were like $11 each). the workers here are nice though and efficient so no complaints there. i would just go some place else if you wanted spicy ahi which is quite our obsession as of now...

I have tried this place a few times. Everything that I have tried has been very tasty. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The service is quick and they have alot to choose from on the menu. There is not alot of seating inside but there are tables outside. Seems like alot of people pick up food to go.

I think ninja sushi has got to be one of the best sushi places on the island. Their dishes are so tasty! Superman is my favorite. Theyre always fast with their orders and even serve it out to you. Could be pricey, but very worth it!

Spicy ahi nigiri. Go have some right now. I seriously think I could have had just that for dinner and walked away a happy camper. After eating DH's spicy ahi I moved onto my own bento with teri chicken and kalbi. I love their bentos, just enough of everything without feeling like I ate the left side of the menu even though at Ninja Sushi sometimes I want to. They're also trying to get down on the fro-yo craze. They have great photos of green tea and other flavors with fresh fruit that look great however it's not quite up & running yet. They only had vanilla and strawberry with no toppings, just syrups. I really would have loved some green tea yogurt with maple syrup, perhaps some blackberries. Just saying.. a little hint..

Ninja sushi reminds of a buffet where everything is mass produced except they fool you into thinking that they spend a lot of time making your meal and charge you accordingly. The fish quality is average at best. Maguro nigiri is about $4.25 at the time of this review, but it really should be priced in the 2.75 range. It's thin and bland as if it's been sitting on the conveyer belt for 6 hours at genki sushi. Their udon tastes like it came from a package. Their salads taste like they are from costco. This makes sense since their greens come from the costco. Their tako yaki should just be called breaded balls because it was a struggle to actually find some tako. The one bright spot is their superman roll. I enjoy eating it. It's as if they are trying to cut corners in order to make more money. I've been here a lot and over the months I've seen them change their chopsticks to this hollow, funny feeling cardboard type of chopstick. They now use a generic shoyu that tastes funny. Really? How much does shoyu cost? They do all of this while raising the prices. Next.

When they first opened up, hardly anyone would venture in there... Now, dang, there's a long wait during lunch on the weekdays and I hate calling in an order unless it's your typical maki mono roll/cali roll/ebi/tamago blah blah blah platter that you don't give a crap about just as long as you bought your share to the potluck. This place blows Kozo, Aloha, Genki (well their spicy ahi is different from Ninja but that is the only thing that I like there), and yes, KuruKuru (I just love correcting my hubby when he mispronounces it!). Always judge your sushi from the quality of their rice and how fresh their fish is. Right away, I could tell that this place didn't mess around when it came to their rice and I aint talking about Hinode! And their ahi, fresh, fresh, fresh! This is great spicy ahi and once you try it, you will be addicted to it. What I like even better is that if you feel like you don't want to overindulge (my sis and I call it FF moments- for fat f*ck) in a spicy ahi (oh the horror) set or a full on Tiger or Dragon maki, you can go for the chibi size spicy ahi donburi. Cheap, cheap, cheap but quality rates up there. Now this is what I am going to miss when we move back to Maryland next year. My friends up there in MD would take me to a sushi bar (sounds so retro) and say, hey - Hawaiian Girl (I'm not Hawaiian, I'm Asian, but that's a different story, lol) this is the bomb ass sushi... Come to find out, rice is hard, taste funky and rolls taste like ass or chlorine (come on people, you do know that you need mirin/rice vinegar to flavor your sushi rice, right?). I'm like, peeps, you really don't know what you guys are missing...No wonder you guys need to drown it in wasabi and soy sauce (btw - no such thing as "shoyu" on the East Coast, I dare you to ask for it at a Japanese restaurant and let's bet the server will say, WTF?) Getting back to the subject (sorry Adult ADD moment).. In my opinion, the difference between Genki and Ninja's spicy ahi sushi is that when you taste a Genki spicy ahi piece, it bites you (sorry, that's the only way I can describe it, lol - but it's a good bite) and the ahi chunks from Genki are quite large (not poke large, lol). Ninja, its mellow. Smaller or maybe fine chunks of ahi. Also, I guess the only word that comes to mind for their spicy ahi is creamy. Creamy? Try it and you'll see what I mean! This is great take out sushi, just order it when you get there, it's worth the wait. Also the Tiger Roll is sooo good, if you can finish this in one setting, you will be set for lunch and dinner. Fresh, hot shrimp tempura, their spicy ahi, what more can a sushi monger want? And come on, "Ninja" just sounds cool. And their Ninja mascot is just so kawai.

Great little restaurant, tucked away in the airport trade center. All the sushi and lunch bowls/bentos I've ordered here have been excellent, and prepared quickly. My favorites lately have been their unagi, curry chicken and spicy ahi. Their rolls are a good value for the money and freshly prepared. A line starts to form around noon for lunch, so I tend to go a little early. The staff is friendly and very competent. There were stretched where I ate there every day for a couple weeks, and the quality of the food and service never changed. Consistent, good food, and a good value for my money, I'm a huge fan of Ninja Sushi.

We were actually headed to Big Kahuna at the Airport Trade Center when we saw Ninja Sushi a few doors down. After some arm twisting, the kids were finally convinced to pass on the pizza (TOO BAD! BE QUIET!!) and give this place a shot. Didn't start off too well. We paid for our drinks and then discovered they ran out of ice (so that was why there were big puddles of water in the p/lot). The pics of their sushi on the menu looked great. We ordered the volcano roll, which the server assured us was a california roll w/spicy ahi on top. If that was spicy ahi then I'm Elmer Fudd. I think it might have been Negitoro. Also had some kind of shrimp tempura roll. The rice on both of these rolls was extra crispy, as if it was leftover. Definitely not worth the price. The Hamachi used on the Spicy Hamachi nigiri tasted as if it had been dipped in gasoline and set ablaze. Be warned: if you simply can't wait and must use the restrooms, these are shared by all of the businesses. There is no lock on the men's, but a combination is needed for the ladies (what's up w/that?). I paid this one a visit and was just in time to find a dude bathing himself in the sink. Nice. Pics out front promised delicious frozen yogurt here and there was an impressive display inside. Unfortunately, the gremlin that attacked the ice machine must have sabotaged the dessert station, too. We went on a Sunday and I wondered whether the lack of business traffic may have contributed to poorer service. Sorry, but if you are going to open then give customers what they deserve: QUALITY. If not, there's always YELP.

The sushi is alright to me, nothing spectacular and the prices vs. portion doesn't balance well. You pretty much get less portions than what you pay for. When the place first opened, the portions were just right and now it seems like they are skimping on it. There was one incident that I ended getting food poisoning for ordering the Salmon Temaki. I should've known because the Salmon was kind of warm like it's been sitting out at room temperature. But I ate it anyway around 6pm and about 1am in the morning, I had to deal with a unpleasant stomach ache and multiple trips to the bathroom. So I've been avoiding their raw fish because of that. I'm not doing this to hate on them but I've seen some of the cooks not wash their hands after going to the bathroom. Eventually, I still came back to order their cooked foods and was disappointed with their chicken donburi $6.75+ tax. It's fried and crispy but most of the pieces had the fat part of the chicken in it, which I cannot eat at all. Pretty much half of my chicken I had to throw away and somehow I can't stand them using sushi rice for the donburi rather than freshly cooked steam rice. I don't think ninja gets their rice cooked in the restaurtant, but I could be wrong. But every time I order a rice dish, it's always semi-cold and vinegary. I have yet to try their new menu items which looks good. But the prices just keeps me from buying them. $8.50+, if only they were a little bit cheaper then I would buy their foods.

I like this place. Probably less than other 4 star places I've reviewed on here, but they do a good job. So in appreciation of their hard work, I'm rounding up. I frequent this place if I'm leaving or returning to Oahu and need decent sushi in a pinch. Its proximity to the airport in combination with their quick fast-food style service makes it ideal for travelers. And most importantly, their sushi tastes pretty darn good. Much better than I would expect from a fast-food sushi place. Maybe that's why I think it tastes good; my expectations are low. In any case, if you're looking for mind-numbing, melt-in-your-mouth sushi, this is not your place. In fact, you'd have to be half brain dead to think that a strip mall fast food sushi joint would dish out high quality cuts of sashimi. But that's what I like about it; it doesn't try to be what it's not and sticks to its guns. Good, but not great, sushi, diverse selection of interesting rolls, variety of combo plates if you want udon or tempura with your sushi, speedy service, cheap prices, no pretentiousness - my kind of place. And seriously, don't underestimate the quality of their sushi. Probably the best out of the fast-food style sushi places on Oahu. Gets pretty busy around lunch time so keep that in mind if you're need to catch a flight. It's up to you to decide which is more important - catching that flight or satisfying your sushi addiction.

I come here for lunch once in awhile. The sushi is fresh. Its slightly expensive for lunch, but then again so is sushi in general. Its pretty good as far as strip-mall sushi goes. I tried the curry once, it was a good, slightly small portion. I've never tried their rolls, but my friends get it and it seems good, but one roll for lunch and spending nearly $10 bucks seems expensive -- again it's sushi lunch at dinner prices. The staff is very friendly. The place is small. There's ample of parking.

I've been here a couple of times just because I go to school downtown. For a while, I actually thought one of my professors was the owner of the downtown location because I'd always see him going in there and talking with the employees without buying anything. It wasn't until I asked him one day if he could get me a discount that I discovered that he was just doing market research for them and sadly, could not fill my request. Regardless, their dragon maki and the superman roll are my favorites.

I walk in, the girl behind the counter does not even acknowledge that I am in her place of business. I stand in front of the counter for over a minute and still no response. I tell her I would like to order, she asks what I will have. I could tell this was not the owner because she seemed not to care if I ate here or not. Never going back again. Too bad cus the sushi is good. The location I visited was by the Honolulu airport.

This is a great place to eat when the office needs to stop out and get a quick bite. If people don't want sushi they can go to Jamba Juice, Blimpie, or one of the other many places here. Good value sushi. I think its actually really good for what you pay. Even though the Spicy Ahi here is really just Negitoro with "spicy" sauce on top which is not even that hot, it's still good. Great rolls and donburis. It gets really crowded at noon. You may want to show up at 11:30 or 12:30, sometimes the line is to the door.

I'm a fan of Ninja Sushi, and the food is always amazing. But at this particular location, on this particular day, the person running the counter wasn't the most hygienic. She constantly rubbed/picked at her ears and dry coughed while packing up orders. As I waited for my take out order, I couldn't help but watch her. As time ticked by, I got more and more grossed out. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.

So after my long flight to Hawaii, I finally got off the plane and was starving since these airlines now charge for their craptacular snacks and sandwiches (if you can even call it a sandwich), and I refuse to pay for their food. Not to mention I had some time to kill while I waited for my parents' plane to get in. So I asked the rental car lady where I could grab something good to eat. (I figured who better than a local?) Boy, I'm glad she pointed me here. The Spicy Ahi Bento Box was just what I needed. The spicy ahi was SO tasty and the sushi pieces were all fresh. Not to mention that they have Spam sushi there too, which is what I REALLY wanted!! (Ok, I'm a spam lover, so shoot me) Nothing better than a nicely sauteed piece of spam on a nice thick pad of sushi rice...mmmmmmm....man why the hell did I come back to LA again???

Been there twice in four days. The food is fresh. The sushi rice is just about perfect. I did not expect that from a "fast food" place. I go there early, around 11:15am. There were few of us there. My order came quick. The spicy tuna could be spicier. I'm coming back!!!

i hate this place. way overpriced. their tonkatsu is a deli-thin sliver of pork with crust around it. their sushi is thin slivers too. it's ridiculous. food is mediocre and service is awful.
