They have a lot of options for the breakfast buffet but the omelets are the best. It's the standard Marriott quality. I was here four days in a row. The servers are very sweet and attentive.

I came here because it was the only place open at 5 am. It is basically the hotels continental breakfast buffet. That was fine since I just wanted to eat. The shocker came when the bill was 30 dollars. What a scam! I am confused about all of the reviews since I ate better food in the Army. Looking at the photos again, it seems somebody spent a lot of time plating and dressing up their buffet food. Bizarre.

best kept secret for crab leg and prime rib . this buffet is on the small side , but if you love to eat crab leg and prime rib , this is the place to be . the crab legs are steamed and served with clarified butter . the hot food section is so so , nothing really worth mentioning . there is a salad bar , some soup and cheese. but wait..... there is the best cake dessert section i've ever seen on a buffet . this is cake heaven... i love cake , and usually it's very dissapointing on buffets , but not this one. i had the chantilly , mango , coconut and chocolate cake. all off them super delicious and oh so fluffy and soft. there were some cheesecake and other desserts too, but i was already too full ... next time.. the crab legs are only served fri-sun dinner buffet . the price is 37.95 $ , but if you go there between 5 -6 pm , you get 20 % discount . so you only pay 30.36 $ per person for all you can eat crab leg and prime rib .

Went for Seafood buffet with my dad. The food and service were subpar and considering that it is below ground level, the atmosphere left something to be desired as well. The odd thing about the food is that it is prepared in a way to cause the customer lots of work while making it easy on the cooks. For example the have cold shrimp with the shell, legs and vain still attached. If I wanted to clean the shrimp I would buy them at the market and eat at home. Same situation with the crab legs. Small legs, not scored, not shucked and the don't even give you an oyster fork. They also had both hard and soft cheese, but no crackers, so I ended up eating the soft cheese with a fork. I expect better attention to guest experience in a four-star buffet than I got. Service also missed the mark, the waiter never even asked my did if he wanted a drink, he had gone to the restroom, the nearest one is outside of the restaurant and down a hall. When I waiter took my drink order. The hostess also did not show him where I had been seated making him search. The decor is one big room that gets noisy and drafty if they prop the outside door open. They do offer outside seating, but it is also below ground so there is not desireable view no matter where you sit. Probably will not go back. The maître d' did give us a discount when I complained and also suggested that if I didn't want to clean the seafood, I should come on a night when they don't offer it.

My son wanted to eat at a buffet for his birthday and looked around, but most restaurants that offer buffets are at least $50, and it was hard to find one with a dumb phone. Being in the dark ages, I finally saw the light after I finally got a smart phone and could just hop onto yelp to find kuhio beach grill listed. Just one tap on the phone to call instead of finding a phone book (have you younger generation ever looked in one?) I was trying to stay away from being on the screen all the time, but I guess it is inevitable. Having a smart phone enables me to write more reviews instead of waiting to go home, then find myself too tired to write. Now I understand why people couldn't communicate with me or not being able to find places. but now I am back writing and posting reviews as a non-elite to let you all read another opinion of places, as I rely on yelp to find places as well. At first I wondered if the cost would reflect the quality of food since if was almost half the price of other restaurants, and some of the reviews stated that the crab legs were small, but we decided to try it out anyway because of other good reviews: corn chowder- 5 stars - very creamy with a nice heavy flavor. I didn't want to eat too much of it since there were so much other food. prime rib - 4 stars - a little chewy but pretty good. the sauce was a little salty but it made the meat a lot tastier to want seconds. crab legs - 5 stars - cannot go wrong getting all u can eat crab legs for only $30. My younger son ate 3 plateful. It was already flavored without the butter which made it less fattening. salad bar - 3 stars - was just a basic variety of veggies that I didn't bother to eat. other hot foods - wasn't that much of a variety that captured me, so didn't taste any. dessert - 3 stars - average, and the chocolate wasn't as strong tasting so it didn't impress me birthday icecream brownie cake - 5 stars - I asked if they did anything for birthdays and the waitress didn't really say anything, but at the end of our meal, she brought us a really nice and awesome tasting brownie ice cream chocolate cake that we had to make room in our tummies for because it was so delicious! It also had a happy birthday chocolate candy to go with it. Unfortunately, my phone ran out of juice so I couldn't take a pix of it. Overall, I give it a 4 or more stars because of the early bird cost of $30 for adults and only $17 for kids under 12 if you arrive by 6pm, prime rib, crablegs, local friendliness of the waitress, very kid friendly, special cake and 4 hour validation to give us extra time to enjoy walking around waikiki, especially since the pan pacific hoolaulea event was happening to make a very special family event.

Well, we came here for a yakudoshi for my friend. It was buffet only and the first prime rib piece I got was awesome! The second one was too thick and a little to rare. The decor was simple Waikiki style. There's a cute outdoor seating area which overlooks the busy Kalakaua street which was nice for people watching! The dessert line was cute and had a variety of sweets. I liked the cheesecake. My friend loved the bread pudding. Park in their lot and they'll validate - 4 hours free in Waikiki is awesome! I didn't eat much more, but everyone loved the crab legs : )

What a delightful experience all the way around, from the friendly host and servers to the great food. As you know, Waikiki can be very expensive place for dining and a challenge can be getting decent food without a huge wait. I stumbled upon this restaurant after picking up snorkeling equipment at the hotel. When i spied crab legs and prime rib on the sign, my interest was piqued and I got details from the host (it was breakfast time then). And a special holiday weekend price to boot. Kind of got it on my radar as a "well maybe." What impressed me the most was the staff -- huge kudos to Gina the host and Eve and Noni, my servers for the two nights that I dined. Yes I came back, it was that good. They were so genuinely kind and pleasant, it really enhanced the overall dining experience. I simply cannot say enough great things about all three of them -- you were a guest in their restaurant and they treat everyone as if they are the most important person there. And that's important when dining solo, you want to feel relaxed and enjoy the meal. (Noni my server for the Sunday, instantly remembered me from Saturday. Eve also stopped by to say hi.) Truly a treat! Asd far as the food, as others have explained, it's not a gigantic buffet but the weekend food is quality vs gigantic quantity. And plenty of choices regardless. The prime rib and crab legs were top quality -- crab legs can be over-steamed but these folks cooked them perfectly. Depending on the weekend night, there will be another premium entree -- whether shrimp, fish tacos or roasted turkey. There are also several self-serve entrees, from Hawaiian chicken and Mahi Mahi (both yummy). Really good selection of salad choices to make your own (decent quality, gotta try to eat somewhat healthy eh). A premium soup (lobster bisque, yum). Desserts were just OK but tasty, but it's the main food that you really want to be great. And they were. One note: this restaurant is temporarily housed in a ballroom by the pool area while the restaurant is under renovation. So it may not be as intimate as a restaurant per se. But do not let that concern you as, unlike many Waikiki restaurants, this location's air conditioning worked very well and was very comfortable -- perfect in that 90s+ weather with 90%+ humidity. And the extra space allows staff to accommodate special requests (ie if a large family wanted to sit together), plus plenty of room around the buffet area. But all in all, thank you again to Gina, Eve and Noni -- you all are amazing and thanks so much for being so wonderful.

I always eat here, I love me pasta mondays. Some of staff remember us from before, even though we come to Hawaii once or twice a year. Friendly staff, good food. They are located on the third floor by the pool, signs will lead you the way.

The breakfast buffet here is pretty on point. Went there a two days in row when staying at the Marriott. Both days the fare was similar but with little changes like one day there were pancakes, the next there was Belgium waffles. Opted to sit outside both mornings, since the weather was perfect. The pigeons can be a little annoying and fearless, they just kept coming back for more. I don't mind a little wildlife while I am eating so I didn't let it bother me. It was around $23 and included your choice of drinks, omelet bar, fruit platter, toasts, yogurts, and they even had a little Japanese breakfast station. I had a throwback moment on the first day and opted for that.

The best king crab legs in the island. Steamed to perfection and served with clarified butter. Sadly I have to stay away from shell fish but if you want all you eat giant king crab legs, then this is the place to go. Their prime rib is also the best in town. Cooked to perfection. Ask the carver for a slice according to how thick you want it. If you like the king cut, they will cut it for you. Their prime rib is tender and cooked on the rare side. If you don't like it too rare they can pan fry it for you. The buffet is rounded out with a soup and bread section, cold salad bar with fruits and cold items such as smoked salmon and shrimp and cheeses, and other hot entree items for non meat or seafood eaters, and a very nice selection of desserts. It's a well rounded buffet that has something for everyone. Overall restaurant rating 5 Food quality 5 Food selection 4 Value for the price 5 Friendly staff 4.5 All in all this is our go to place for a fast meal, reasonable price, and all you can eat. One of the best family buffets in town.

5/5. Review is for Patty, Karen and all of their amazing co workers. I stay at another hotel yet I come to this buffet only because not only do they remember me and treat me so amazing, they always take care their regular clients. Right now they are re modeling until 2016 so it's on the third floor in the back by the pool. The food is AMAZINg! Different selections each night but plenty of healthy choices and homemade deserts. All the staff is welcoming and if you think $30 for a buffet is a lot then you should see the rip off at the oceanarium next door. This price point is perfect and the food is amazing. Love you guys and look forward to always visiting you in Waikiki

I liked the fact that everything on the buffet is delicious. The buffet is stocked with all good quality food, and beautifully laid out. Go between 5-6 to get the discount, park in their parking garage. 4 hours with validation.

First time here, visiting from Chicago.Just graduated from Kendall College, culinary school. Went for dinner on a Sunday. Food-The buffet is limited. Decent dessert selection, but no ice cream. Carving section was prime rib and turkey, but that's all. Unlimited crab legs was good. My mom complained thought the selection was limited, I agreed. Salad bar did not have a lot of variety. Service was okay, my drinks sat empty for long periods of time, over 8-10 minutes. Price- for 4 it was $163, including 2 sodas. I thought it was overpriced. Recommend a cycle menu more seasonal to make it better so as to not get bored with the same food. I would no go there for a dining

Run far far far away. This is the worst "buffet" I've encountered in HI. Ugh gross - wet milky eggs, not edible. all the food was cold, and the options of selections are limited. They required cash payment before you even walk in and get to see what was being offered for the breakfast buffet. $20 a person and we could have had McDonalds for a quarter of the cost, and sadly 100% better quality. I highly recommend staying away from this place and keep your money in your wallet!!!

The all you can eat crab legs and prime rib buffet is fabulous! This is always my go-to favorite place to eat in Waikiki. The crab legs are large and steamed perfectly and the prime rib is tender and medium rare (upon request). We like to sit outside and enjoy the live music from across the street (it's not too loud to drown out a good conversation but it's nice background music). I've been going here pretty regularly since 2005 and the buffet has never let me down. For what you can spend on the crab legs alone at Costco (which you still have to cook), you get a full buffet with a wonderful dessert line and many other various dishes to try, as well as salad bar and soup selections. The Mai Tai's are also really delicious. This crab legs and prime rib buffet is my first choice, even above any expensive restaurant in Waikiki as the food is wonderful, it has a comfortable atmosphere (and outside seating), great prices and did I say the food was wonderful? If you're not into crab legs than it may not be your cup of tea but if you are - this is the place. :)

I had a seat terrace today. Their chair are high for me. But atmosphere was good. They have crab & early bird only week end. I'm going come weekend next time.

****The review is only to the buffet breakfast. **** During our 3 night stays in Marriott hotel, we have daily buffet breakfast including in our hotel package, so I had my breakfast at Kuhio for 3 days, luckily , it's only 3 days, I don't know if I can take it for more than 3 days. They have the same buffet breakfast item everyday, the food is really just mediocre, it won't worth the price they charge ( $21+/ppl as I remembered),there is always long line waiting for getting in, I do appreciate the host trying her best to arrange seats for everyone as quickly as possible, I just don't like the feel of waiting in a line. Overall, if you are thinking if you should add buffet package at your Marriott hotel booking, I will urge you NOT to do so, given the location of Marriott is in the heart of Waikiki, there are so many restaurants ( including McDonald) within walking distances, I will save the money and go to explore other breakfast places !

  • Andrea L.

The location is actually temporarily closed and they have relocated the buffet to the Waikiki ballroom in the hotel by the pool. No bar service in the morning. Seriously? No mimosas or bloody Mary's for brunch? The fact that I'm even giving it 2 stars is that we had 7 year old with us and she loved the pancakes and bacon. We didn't eat. $16 Buffett for kids. I do have to mention that night service/buffet does have drink service which was great as we were hanging at the pool.

This place was a huge disappointment. We expected a full buffet but due to construction only limited options were available. Not worth the thirty bucks. Take your money and run.

Everything on their bugfet TV is really tasty. It's not overpriced like the other buffets and they have a smaller buffet then most but every single dish is good, if you do come here you have to try the prime rib it's wroth every dollar

Average food and selection, kinda reminds me of a Casino Buffet. It was close since we stayed here, but won't be eating here again.

OMG!!! Eating the buffet breakfast this morning included in your $30/day resort fee / activity package and look what was in the egg scramble from the custom omelette bar...HUGE piece of metal !!! Told the manager on duty of the Kuhio Grill "George Duarte" but, he was more concerned about "how this could have happened" instead of making this right for the Elite Platinum Marriott Reward guest offering 10,000 MR points ....pathetic should have been at least 100,000 !!! Dangerous place to eat !!!! BEWARE !!!!

Food wasn't great, but wasn't bad either. Was our breakfast spot nearly everyday since my Marriott elite status for me a free breakfast. Because of my status, I got 25% off for my guests - which was great! Food is spendy but was awesome that it was open at 5am local time. We also did dinner here once and it was decent. It certainly wouldn't be my first choice but it's ok considering a buffet can be ordered.

Breakfast buffet: If you are staying at Marriott and using coupon, then a decent spread. If you have to pay full price of $28, then not worth the money. Good food but not worth that much. Dinner buffet: We love it, discount or not. Prime rib is always good, that alone makes it worth the price. We ate late, close to 9 pm, on Tuesday when they have poke station. I guess the chef didn't want to waste the food, and the portions he fixed for us was huge, piled high on a large plate. I had ahi/tuna poke, my wife had scallops and tako poke, and we could not finish them because there was so much. Later he was fixing them for employees, good idea. Good selection of desserts.

Food was okay. Had a certificate for the buffet or else I wouldn't have gone as I can't eat crab and I don't like prime rib. The huli huli chicken must have been tourist style because no fundraiser or roadside stand ever tasted like that. If I ever go back, I'm just going to eat dessert! Our waitress made our dining experience.

Solid 4! Nice large room, well laid out buffet line. Hostess was super nice and welcoming! Prime rib was outstanding and ready to order poke was superb. Nice salad items, breads, fancy cheeses, and sides. Desserts....mmmm.... Awesomeness! Creme brûlée, bread pudding, chocolate dipped strawberries, carrot cup cakes, tiramisu and a lot more. Our waitress was outstanding. Kept the table clear and our coffee full, she made us feel very welcomed as appreciated. Mahalo for that! Highly highly recommended! Add some mashed potatoes or potato salad and you'll get a 5 from me!

    * Price: $$$, $22 for breakfast; $35 for buffet dinner; $40 for prime ribs and seafood night (without tax, tips and drinks); 3 star. * Ambiance: casual, buffet style. There is outdoor seating... but otherwise no view. 3 star. * Location: first floor of the Marriott beach resort & spa. Paid parking available. 3+ star. * Meals: limited appetizers and main dishes. Good dessert choices. 3 star. * Service: good but not exceptional. 3 star. This is my updated review. We were somewhat disappointed last time but decided to try the weekend's prime rib & seafood night since we stayed at the Marriott. The appetizer station is limited and somewhat boring with pasta salads, greens, grilled vegetables. The main dishes are so so with roasted chicken, seared mahi mahi in wine sauces, roasted beef, steamed vegetables. There is prime ribs and crab legs... but everything is overcooked and lack of taste. The desert station is probably the best of the buffet dinner with assorted cakes, creme brulee, chocolate dipped strawberries etc. Overall, it is a disappointment and left to be desired for some inspiration especially there are so many great local ingredients and fresh seafood and for what they charge!

Go there for the sunsets and Mai tais. (Not the free Mai tais you get when you stay there). Get there before sunset. Find s comfy spot on one of the loungers, get a Mai tai and listen to the music as you watch the sun set. Service can be spotty if they are busy, but it's worth the wait if you have s good seat. I had an awesome time tonight. Made dinner at the condo, rushed over, found a cushioned lounger and got drinks to watch the sunset. Awesome.

We really enjoyed the staff at this Buffet. Excellent food and service. Our waiter was spot on with his appearance cleared plates and refilled our drinks promptly. We had the snow crab buffet and they tasted great. By far the Best buffet on Waikiki Beach!

The Marriott offers a deal if you stay in their hotel you get one free buffet and the second 25% off daily. We wanted to take advantage of the over priced resort fee. So we checked out the Kuhio Grill a few times during our stay. We walked in around 10AM a slow start to our morning and we were seated immediately. The buffet options: pastries, toast, cereal, miso, noodles, congee, eggs (omelettes), bacon, Portuguese sausage, potatoes, bread pudding, pancakes, waffles, assortment of fruit. There's quite a bit to choose from and a lot of it. There's a few different juices and coffee choices. The food is good, not spectacular, but reasonable. There's a good variety so it worked out for us. Our waitresses (both times) were awesome. Florence and Madonna made our dining experience memorable. We will return :)

  • Mike B.

This is for the breakfast buffet... If you really pay $22 for this, you must really like breakfast food. If you stayed at the Marriott and you got free coupons for this everyday, then you will probably enjoy it. They have everything you could want for breakfast food and like I said, it was free. If I had to pay I would prob have rather spent my money elsewhere.

There's an early bird discount that my family enjoyed. The ambience and decor was appropriate, the view of Waikiki was nice too (was able to catch a glimpse of the Friday night fireworks). The food however, I thought, was subpar. Although my family did LOVE LOVE LOVE the crab legs. I'm not a crab legs kinda gal so I guess that makes my rating drop for this place. Not a lot of variety of dishes. About 5 hot dishes, salad bar (which was decent), dessert bar and prime rib (which was good) and crab legs. Not enough got veggies for my liking. Unlikely to return, just cuz I'm not huge on crab legs, but if u like them, u should def try it out!

The service is friendly but the food is average hotel food and the prices are outrageous. Walk a block either way down the street for better food at a better value.

Wonderful crab and prime rib buffet. Since they remodeled it is much improved. The early bird special brought the price down from $34 to $26. The desserts were wonderful. The creme brulee was top notch. My date said the key lime pie was excellent. Also enjoyed the service.

Went there for the breakfast buffet and it was wonderful! There is plenty of seating and the staff is friendly. The reason why I dropped it to 4 stars is because of the price...$24.95 per person for breakfast is pretty steep!!!

I came here last night for a dinner party. The place was empty. The buffet was prepaid with a dinner credit voucher each of us had dish out $34.00.($$$$) This didn't include cocktail drinks either. The gratuity was included already and yet they still ask for tips. Even the chef had a cup of tips for cutting the Prime Ribs. I thought this was kind of low to have present. The menu was mainly Mexican. By using a Hawaiian name you would figure they would have some Hawaiian food....None. The worst part and the reason why I am giving them a 1 STAR is that when ask where is the restroom. I was told I had to go to the third floor. I ask again don't you have any on the first floor. The answer was NO. Later I found that they do have a restroom right outside the front entrance but because of the homeless it requires a key to enter. For hotel guest this would be an okay place to eat. But for an outsider coming here. I rather go to the establishments located on the 3rd flr.

Recently, we enjoyed the 1/2 off buffet ($13.50?) if you dine before 6 p.m. We went on Tuesday for the Prime Rib and Poke buffet. Oh my goodness, it was wonderful! We filled up on the good stuff, not wasting time with starches and salads! And the desserts were wonderful too! Great value for kamaaina! I hope they have other offerings in the future! This restaurant is located in the former Hawaiian Regent Hotel on the ground floor fronting Kalakaua Avenue. Parking is a little difficult, but they validate!

The good: Good value, decent spread & quality The bad: The other customers, horrible crowds On a recent staycation at the Waikiki Beach Marriott, the fiancee and I received two certificates for a free breakfast buffet at the Kuhio Beach Grill for Marriott Rewards Gold/Platinum Elite Members. So, we decided to checkout the breakfast buffet. We headed down to the Kuhio Beach Grill at 9AM. It is located on the first floor of the Kealohilani Tower fronting Kalakaua Avenue. To our surprise, the line was LONG, and many of the other guests in the line were rude and/or hobo looking/acting! After a 15 minute wait, we eventually got our seats. The employees here are nice, though they appeared to be short staffed. Despite this, our server was quick to get and serve our drink orders (water, coffee, or tea), and we were off to the buffet. The buffet here has a decent spread of pastries, fruits, yogurt, scrambled eggs, bacon, link sausage, hash browns, pancakes, fresh Belgian waffles, an omelet station, and a selection of fruit juices. The food was pretty good in quality, and despite what other reviews have said, were hot or cold as they should have been. My only gripe? The hash browns were pretty soggy and the bacon not very crispy, but what do you expect? In addition to the buffet, an ala carte menu is also available and had some pretty good sounding options, but the buffet is definitely where the value is at. Would I return? Yes, if I were staying on property. No if I was just looking for somewhere to grab breakfast and not staying on property. However, given the chaos in the restaurant, it made me wish that Marriott would install an Elite member only Concierge Lounge at this location.

I don't know why this place would get less than a 5 star rating! This place is the best buffet on the island! The food is excellent! The servers are way too nice! No lines for food! And they always compliment us with awesome coupons and free deserts for special occasions! Highly recommended if you are really hungry and craving prime rib and crab! Check this place out!!

I was happy to get free breakfast from the hotel. It is a good way to save some money and fill up for the day. The food, however, is lacking. The omelet station was the lone bright spot. The cook loaded up the omelette's with lots of toppings. The rest of the food was bland and disappointing. The food was not bad, it just lacked any real flavor. I would have been upset had I paid the $22.

Best quiet buffet in Waikiki. Prime rib and fried chicken is unbelievable good. Crab on the weekend is a plus. Most of all the service and atmosphere is just perfect. Most people go to Oceanarium but that's old news. If you want a great food , smooth service and a perfect dinner you know where to go now...shhhhh don't tell to much people if not it might get too busy since local people including myself follows the leader....lol..ENJOY!

A solid, breakfast buffet! For starters, the Marriott gave us 7 free breakfast vouchers here do to my Marriott rewards status. Instead of paying for breakfast on a daily basis I could come down here. At $22 pp I would have been disappointed, but for a free buffet it was def good. For starters, there's a random line to get in on occasion. Why, I do not know. Essentially there's one hostess who takes everyone to their seats, and lets just say she's not in a hurry. The lines are because of her aloha tempo, not for a lack of open tables. You could be the second or third person in line and see 20 empty tables, but you must wait. Ugh! My wife & I requested outdoor seating every time and never had an issue sitting out there. Outdoor seating is a catch 22. One would think that outdoor seating directly across from an unobstructed beach would be a visual home run... wrong. You are actually about 6 or 7 steps below the sidewalk level, so the only thing you see is the nice asian lady handing out pink flyers for her bus tours, newspaper bins, passerbys and the occasional street peddler. Regardless, you're still outside, which is much better than being indoors. As for the food, THE OMELET GUY RICKY(or maybe it was Rich or Fred) was incredible. Easily the best omelet cook I have ever seen. He engaged all the customers, flipped the eggs around, and made a mean omelet. More than that, he was chock full of good info; telling us about things to do, showing me about the coconut syrup w. pineapples as a topping for the waffles, etc. The guy is an asset to that place. The other cooked items were good. Great bacon, good home fries, bread pudding, etc. I never ventured into the asian food section, as miso for breakfast isnt too appealing to me. Maybe for lunch? I did like the inclusion of siraccha & the sweet chili sauce as sauces for my fries & eggs. The servers were a mixed bag. Some were attentive & some mia. A few of the really good ones brought us to go cups with fresh coffee when we were leaving and were attentive with water refills. All in all, for a free breakfast buffet it was great. I prob would have gone w a 3 star review had it not been for the amazing omelet guy and for the fact that they were open fairly late for breakfast. Now just do something about the turtle paced hostess...

*This review only regards the breakfast buffet* Walking the Waikiki strip the morning I had to fly out. Needed breakfast. This breakfast buffet was open, so I checked it out. I only had about 20 minutes left of the buffet, so I loaded my plate. Food: Fresh waffles? Yep! With real whipped cream to put on top. Win! Eggs were pretty decent (scrambled) and they have a guy making omelets to order. Fresh fruit was ripe and not soggy. For a hotel buffet, it was pretty good. A little pricier than I would have liked though - but all you can eat... I shouldn't complain. Service: The waitress was absolutely the best! She was attentive, and even though I hit the end of breakfast, she offered to go grab an extra plate of waffles for me before they put everything away. And when I was ready to leave, she gave me more coffee in a to go cup.

I was so impressed with this place! Huge selection in the dessert section and a huge salad bar. They have different types of buffets every night. Monday: Italian, Tuesday: Hawaiian "Local Grinds," Wednesday: Taste of Orient, Thursday: American, Friday/Saturday/Sunday: International. Of course they always have a salad bar and normal menu to choose from. We went on the Hawaiian night (Tues.), and my favorite hot dish was the Molokai Sweet Potato with Coconut Cream Sauce. Seriously so good! And you get to sit outside (if you choose) under big blue umbrellas right across the street from the beach. Great people watching! The only downside is that it's $26.95 -- worth it if you're a big eater!!

Yummy 3 egg whites omelette with goat cheese, tomatoes, and hash brown. Easy to enjoy breakfast and enjoy final walk on Waikiki Beach just before flying outta here. Great service. They open very early which is very convenient for early birds.

We had the breakfast buffet twice here and the selection is very basic and average. The omelette bar is the best way to go and they have a lot of items to choose from, including Portuguese sausage. If you enjoy waffles, then you will love these. They are right by the omelette station and they go as quick as they are made. Do yourself a favor and try the coconut syrup on the waffles. What a great combination and the syrup is not overly sweet. Fantastic!!!!! They have fresh muffins and they change them up from day to day. Fresh fruit bar including canned juices. They do have pancakes as well, but they are not really that fresh and they just sit there in the bin. The line here gets really long in the morning, so the earlier you arrive, the better. The line does move really quick.

We tried dinner on Friday. Foods and service are great! We loved crab legs and prime rib! Sooo good!!! They don't have much selection like KAI (Sheraton Waikiki) but I like food here too. - Not too greasy and people are friendly here.

I know this is tourist central, but if you pay 22 dollars a person for the breakfast buffet here you're getting ripped off. If you get it free as part of your resort fee feel free to take advantage, otherwise avoid it. Items included in the buffet: pastries (the banana bread was the best thing I had there), sliced fresh fruit, cereal, omelette bar, oatmeal, yogurt, waffles, pancakes etc. The staff was nice and there was a decent selection of food, but this is just a mediocre breakfast buffet. I did not have any other meals here and based on the buffet I doubt I would because I'd likely feel ripped off.

Just left the grill. Their buffet is great. Ordered from the menu was plain and pretty slow. Sitting requires standing in a line and getting pointed at a table. Not good. Once seated, waitress was great. Friendly and attentive. Enjoy the buffet

Still a great assortment for brunch and at $22.95 is much more reasonable with a wider variety than the Hyatt. The fresh fruits were excellent, especially the watermelon and papaya. They brought out blueberries for the oatmeal and the egg white omelet is great. I like the grilled fish of the day with breakfast. I sure wish they'd get better coffee!

I had their breakfast buffet. Plenty of fresh fruits and somen in addition to the basics. Service was 5 stars. The only reason I dropped a star is because there were not a lot of pastry choices. I would definitely come back as the restaurant is centrally located and has a nice comfortable environment.

The buffet was cheap considering the area.. The food choices wasn't too bad. I wish they had more sides to the entrees. Alexis(our server) was really nice and i saw customers coming in and asking to be seated in her area. ;) Great experience!

My review is for breakfast only. I'm sorry to say that this was the worst breakfast of our entire vacation. The restaurant is old and outdated. We had the breakfast buffet and the only good items were the fresh cut fruit and the omelet station (because the eggs were actually hot and cooked fresh). Everything else on the buffet were not at appropriate temperatures (hot food cold , cold food not so cold). The Miso soup was grainy and merely luke warm and the eggs on the buffet were runny and undercooked. The only meat selections were bacon and canadian bacon. From reading other reviews, it appears that the dinner buffets could be better than breakfast, but I couldn't bring myself to go back in. Especially when there are so many other great dinner options within walking distance. On a positive note...I had a free meal coupon from Entertainment so I only had to pay for 3 bad meals, not 4.

Very average breakfast buffet at a very high price, $23. I decided to try the eggs benedict ($18) and it was better than good but not great. I had a hard time cutting the ham. Service was good

Just realize they have prime rib and crab legs dinner buffet when we walked by one day. We had it on Sun night and there is 20%off early bird special between 5-6pm. They don't have much selection, but their prime rib and crab legs very good. They also have turkey, mahi mahi, roast chicken and smoke salmon, cheese, rice, Mac n cheese, salad, plenty of dessert. I think the cost is ok because just prime rib will cost $30 at Waikiki already and the quality is great!

I am a hugh fan of seafood buffets, especially if Alaskan king crab is included-and it was fabulous! There were plenty of other seafood offerings and the fish tacos were a big hit as was the prime rib. Although I love the aquarium at the Oceanarium, I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere Kuhio's.

This review is for the weekend crab & prime rib dinner only Not worth the price. $35 per person for snow crab and prime rib buffet. Luckily we had the Entertainment Coupon which was $25 off so our bill was about $47 after tax, not including tip. I wouldn't come here again for that buffet. Snow Crab - hot, which was good but there was hardly any meat and it was kind of dried out. Prime Rib - nicely seasoned and the au jus was good but nothing spectacular. Hot selections - nothing very appetizing, the chinese style beef was pretty good but the chicken was pretty awful and the other selections were just rice and steamed veggies. Like i said, not worth $35. Salad bar - very nice and fresh with shrimp cocktail, dried fish and pasta salads Soup - this was my favorite of the night. It was a seafood bisque - so rich and flavorful I had 2 bowls. Dessert - I liked the individual plated portions, that was pretty and the what looked like an apple tart turned out to banana which was really good. Not everything was labeled though, so I ended up not taking things because I didn't want to waste it. If you want crab legs, don't come here. I think the weekdays are cheaper - $25, no crab but they still have prime rib.

Gluten free dining is not easy, but this buffet is a winner. I explained to the waitress that I had a wheat allergy, and I just wanted to see what was on the buffet before deciding to eat the buffet or order off the menu. They had the chef come out and walk me through the buffet to explain which foods were gluten free. There were a lot of options, but since I couldn't have some of the main entree's, he made special for me a chicken breast and fresh grilled fish...this is in addition to the other items I could eat on the buffet... Yummy food....And even better if you're not gluten free. Lots of choices, Wonderful Chef Arakaki, very reasonable, $26.95 for dinner buffet in Waikiki - Every night there's a different menu, gluten free diners should choose Tuesday's - make your own Poke bar & Friday through Sunday Sweet and think crab legs. Weekends have early bird pricing from 5-6pm for $27.95, or $33.95 after 6.

Essentially go for the buffet both for breakfast and dinner....more so for breakfast. There is an omelet station where you can also get eggs to order and waffles. The hot bar changes daily and kept fresh. The fruit bar is consistently stocked with melons, pineapple and mango. There is a good variety of breads, cereals and sweet pastries. The coffee isn't as good as you would expect in Hawaii. The interesting surprise is the Asian table which serves rice, congee, miso, dried vegetables and kimchi for breakfast....try it, it is actually good. Dinner is okay and your typical prime rib buffet. The salad bar is small but fresh and the grilled vegetables are okay. The desert bar is extensive. You can also order off the menu but the prices reflect typical prices in a tourist area.

The best thing at the Kuhio Beach Grill is the weekend seafood and prime rib buffet. They have poultry, seafood, salad, soup, and the typical buffet selections. But the main highlights are king crab legs and prime rib! The prime rib is cooked perfectly medium rare with medium edges. It's not like those places that overcook their prime rib. So if you like your meat like me (medium rare) then this is place for you! If you can, I would serious recommend watching what they bring out. They usually replace their food often so if you see them bringing out a new tray of crab or prime rib I would go for that! New crab is always better than older crab! Service is great, the waiters always fill up your water and take your plates away quickly. Plus there's free parking in the Marriott garage (do not forget to get your ticket validated). If you valet it's $12 which is kind of pricey... Make sure you go early (before 6:00pm) because there's an early bird special for around $32 (it use to be $26 but it went up). They also have various promotional discounts so if you have time check out their twitter.

This was a very nice buffet. Best place you can eat for the money. The prime rib is as good as prime rib gets. And everything is buffet, all you can eat. Service was tops. The waitress was always there to fill my glass. The crab legs were delicious. Chicken was good. All sorts of desserts. Pineapple was outstanding, as it always is in Hawaii. All the desserts were good. Too bad this place does not have a lunch buffet.

I've read some negative reviews, but they are older having noted the dates. This place must have made some changes at the grill because my group got there as they were just opening the buffet for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. Great service, the food looked and tasted really good. There wasn't much by way of seafood, but the prime rib and deserts were outstanding. It cost us $22 plus tax. I think for the price, you get some pretty decent options. There were many other places nearby to choose from but they would cost double. I would have like to have seafood, but there was someone in the group who didn't want that, so I was willing to sacrifice crab legs. Still wasn't disappointed. There wasn't any view since were below street level but the stomach didn't care. We walked up and out on to the street afterwards and took some pictures of waikiki beach. No complaints here.

The food at Kuhio Beach Grill is delicious! I've been going and trying different prime rib buffets, but none can match Kuhio Beach Grill. Also, the prices are so much better than other buffets I've gone too. I also went to pasta night and the pasta was hot and I couldn't stop eating it! The funny thing about it is that I found this place by accident when me and Mom was doing some sightseeing in Waikiki. We decided to try Kuhio Beach Grill since it was close to our hotel, but now we go here almost all the time just for the prime rib! If you want the best prime rib on the island, this is the place to get it!

Came for the dinner buffet for two nights because of their excellent salad bar and cook to order station. Each night they have the same salad bar: salad greens, grilled veggies, olives, fruit, and more. The hot foods and the cook to order stations change. The nights we went they had cook to order pasta and the other night was poke. The prime rib is tender and tasty. They had a dessert bar with lots of desserts like cakes, haupia and creme brule. They are running a special where it was $22 and some change for hotel guests to eat here, so we couldn't resist, and were pleasantly surprised we liked it. Just what ever you do, don't get the Kuhio Breeze signature cocktail for $5. It was not tasty. It was super weak. It looked nothing like the picture. Do not waste you time. See photo.

This is the least expensive dining option at the Waikiki Beach Marriott. We ate here for breakfast and dinner each day during our stay. Breakfast is a nice buffet with an omelet bar and waffle maker available each morning. The buffet was fresh and hot with plenty of fruit and pastries to choose from. Dinner was also buffet and best of all they had daily drink specials, although in very small glasses. The food was good, nothing spectacular, but the service can't be beat. Every member of the staff was friendly and made dining there fun.

"Ugh. Me hungry." Yeah. I'm that stereotypical club wielding throwback oldschool male when it comes to breakfast. It's the most important meal of the day. And the best meal of the day I've "hunted & gathered" at Kuhio Beach Grill. The breakfast buffets are usually plentiful. Plump link sausages, glazed ham with pineapple, eggs scrambled, white & brown rice, fish, fresh fruits and yogurts. Omelets to order and mini Belgian waffles with lovely, sticky-sweet coconut syrup at their omelet station. Sadly the bacon's too diminutive for a Cro-Magnon such as myself. Of course their mango, orange, and pineapple juices aren't fresh squeezed, but they're refreshing. And fresh brewed locally grown coffee in a pot on my table. Of course, no culinary wonders. Just a decent put-the-feedbag-on & gorge-til-you-bloat breakfast buffet experience. And what a lovely morning view of the ocean from across the street. Sorry to say my two dinners here off the menu were lackluster at best. Stringy, bland lobster? Veggies void of memory? Two were enough. The service is wonderful and personable. Most of the aunties have been here for over 20 years and spread that signature 'Aloha Spirit' with pride. When we first hit Honolulu in 2009 these were the folks who put us at ease and made us comfortable in their home. Now the fact that our breakfast buffet was all inclusive with our Pleasant Holidays vacation package for 2009's stay at the Waikiki Beach Marriott where the Grill is located and dinner was not has no bearing on my review. This year Mrs H & I booked on our own without the inclusive breakfast buffet and it ran $40 for two. My opposing view between breakfast & dinner stays consistent. Final summation: Enjoyable breakfast buffets, but lacking dinner entrees. I'll see you again in 2011, Kuhio Beach Grill. I'm still a fan of your overall vibe. But I'll be seeing you at 5 a.m. and not 5 p.m. "Ugh."

We had an entertainment book coupon which ended up saving us tons of money since there was four of us so we decided to try their dinner buffet. The buffet was not that big, it had the basic stuff - salad bar, fruit bar, desert bar, entree bar and prime rib carving station. Nothing really stood out, the place was kind of far from where we were staying - it is below the Marriott Waikiki Beach. The one good thing was that they seemed to always fill the items with fresh ones, even if the item was still full and the servers really nice and attentive. The savings was nice due to the coupon, but nothing really stood out.

Every Friday, Saturday, Sunday = All You Can Eat Prime Rib and Crab Legs What more do you want? Because judging by the below reviews they expect more. Where? I dont know. How? I dont know. Perhaps they were expecting the staff to give you a hot oil massage with a free room. Then I can see where the disappointment comes in. Get there between 5-6pm and its only $24.95! So if you get seated at 5:59pm, its only $24.95! So yes, you can stay there till 7pm, but if you get seated before 6pm, you pay that amazing low price. Then after that it jacks up another $10 I believe. Which is still worth the price! Prime Rib = Is GOOD. Even the Au Jus was good Crab Legs = GOOD Full Salad Bar, White Rice, Rice Pilaf, Cheese Tray, Fresh Fruits, Mahi Mahi, Smoked Fish, Ham, Nice Staff....all GOOD Shrimp Cocktail + All you can eat = GOOD Lobster Bisque Soup = Good Dessert Bar = GOOD (except no soft serve) My Cons - No Soft Serve Ice Cream. That's it :) I will be back to this place. One of the best buffets on the island. Even had one of the better dessert buffets on the island. I dont know how this place is not more busy. All the complainants I seen on here I did not run across. I am going to highly recommend you ignore the negative reviews and come here on a Friday/Saturday/Sunday for dinner. Not a fan of traveling to waikiki, but I'll be here atleast once a month. :) To justify my 5 star rating. Yeah this isnt a Fine Dining, $100 fancy smancy place. I give it 5 stars for Value, Quality and Quantity.

I thought I had reviewed Kuhio Beach Grill before, but I must have spaced out and forgot to do my duty as a Yelp reviewer. My family and I went there for breakfast on a recent Sunday, and we were really surprised how good it was. And the kids got to eat for free! The breakfast buffet included an omelet station, pancakes, waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, rice, papaya, melons, yogurt, dry cereal, bagels, other breakfast pastries, choice of juice, and coffee. I think the total bill came to about $50. To top it off, a nice gentleman came up to me and said he had been sitting by our table and said our kids were very well behaved, and he appreciated how we talked to them. I felt like giving him a big hug. The kids had a blast, because they had a huge variety of things to choose from. Best of all, no dishes to wash! We'll definitely be back in the not too distant future.

We came here for the dinner buffet a couple trips ago to Waikiki so since they were having their Sunday-Thursday special of $22.95/person, we gave it another go. It was a-ok, solid American food, cajun seafood stew (mmm!) and I liked the fried chicken. The salad bar was a-ok, the sliced meat looked quite red (eee), and the desserts were a-ok too. Nice service.

I went here for breakfast and it wasn't anything special. They had a good selection of fruit and pastries. The hash browns were over done and the bacon was under-cooked. They had ketchup on the buffet, but they didn't have any hot sauce. The Miso Soup was pretty good. Even though it was a hotel breakfast buffet it wasn't very good. In their defense it was very busy and maybe they were a little overwhelmed, but they're a restaurant in a busy hotel and should be prepared for that. There were lots of people here and I understand there were a lot of people that had their breakfast included with their room which may explain why they were so busy. Next time I'm in town I'll probably look for somewhere else to go for breakfast.

One of the more value buffets for Waikiki prices. Decent carvery and crab legs for the dinner buffet. But get in before 6 pm for a discount. Good place to fill up. A tad above an old diner feel to it, but with tropical decor. If you are curious like I was just wander in and ask if you can look around during meals. They were pretty accommodating. Not somewhere you will break out the bling to visit. Place is pretty causal and shouldn't be the highlight of your Waikiki dinner experience. Took a party of 9 there mostly teenagers and it was a good eat. My only sore point was the $75 pre-calculated gratuity. Darn I should have been a water filler.

The food was ok nothing really stood out like being at a Golden Corral, large buffet but not everything was good. The fruit was tasteless and the crab legs dry. The only thing that was good was the service, the staff was really nice.

Had to give our buffet dinner here three stars. The food was o.k. but the selection was average. It was billed as Hawaiian food (plus prime rib) for that night's buffet but I didn't think there was anything particularly Hawaiian about the choices. For a more authentic selection try the Oceanarium in the Pacific Beach Hotel. Again, price was $25 per person for the buffet but we were able to use the Entertainment Book coupon which made it seem like a better value.

This review is for their breakfast buffet only. Basically I paid too much (~$24) for a Continental breakfast. There basically ain't' much to choose from/ The hash brown doesn't even has a hint of fried/cripsy taste. The cheese plate has only three little piece for you to slice from and some cheddar cubes on the side. The fruits (Pink and green melon, pineapple) are okay, their slices of bread are definitely from at least yesterday or older. The miso soup was not hot enough. You can order stuff off the menu instead of going for the buffet, but a basic American breakfast will costs you the same as the buffet. Will not go again. Sorry

I have been a long time patron of the Kuhio Beach Grill, both as a snow bird for many years, and as a resident for the past two. It has always been my "go to" place for special occasions. I even patronized the place when they had temporary quarters upstairs and most of the food was barely warm, but I understood and my roommate and I were the first customers when they reopened downstairs. (They even gave him "gifts" because of it that night) Tonight I brought my roommate there for his birthday and was bitterly disappointed. Although we rushed to get there before 6, they no longer have a weekday early bird special according to the hostess (who was an unfamiliar face to me,) and they haven't for a very long time. (I'm fairly sure we just had the weekday early bird special a few months ago, and many times before that.) I asked if there were any coupon specials (I would have run out to the magazine stand right in front of them on the sidewalk and gotten the coupon) but she said no. Yet I see a review from two months ago about the 1/2 off buffet if you dine before 6pm. OK, fine, we decided to stay anyway. The hostess seated us, but apparently we were in a closed section because after a few minutes of sitting there watching two waitresses chatting with each other, I finally had to go ask if we could please have a waitress so we could order our drinks. Strike one. Strike two was the prime rib which, although it was good, was almost cold. They had increased the heat lamps to two, but it still wasn't enough. I expect that mine isn't going to be piping hot because I prefer it very rare, but my friend was the one who mentioned that his was cold, and his was medium. Strike three was that almost everything was oversalted. It was "Hawaiian Food night", and I know some Hawaiian food is a bit on the salty side, but they were generously tossing rock salt onto the freshly made poke so that all you could taste was the salt. And the Lomi Lomi, pork adobo, and several other dishes were overly salty as well. So much so that my roommate couldn't eat the poke, and didn't like the other salted dishes. He is not a picky eater - you know it's bad when the only thing he could find to say positively was that the Short Rib Lau Lau and the sweet potatoes in coconut were good. Even his Mai Tai didn't taste right after all the salt. He typically has two or three there and didn't even finish the one. I have high blood pressure and am on a salt restricted diet (although I do like a little salt on things) and have never had a problem with salty food there until tonight. But even I couldn't eat his poke or his lomi lomi. We had just been talking about how most commercial luaus weren't worth going to and here we were at a third rate one if that. Not wanting to make a less than stellar evening even worse, I quietly paid the bill and we left, but I will not be going back. Fast forward a few hours and I'm having serious digestive issues and am spending most of my evening/ night in the bathroom. For years I have highly recommended the Kuhio Beach Grill to anyone looking for good food, from tourists on the beach to friends who live here, and now there is no way I will be able to continue to do so. Eat there at your own risk, even if the hotel gives you coupons as I hear they do....

So my bf and I decided to come in for their dinner buffet on Friday. The last time we were here was like 3 years ago and we had came in for dinner and it was good. For dinner they have a good selection and we came in when they were serving the prime rib and crab yumm.. I really enjoyed the fresh fruit, smoked salmon, steak nice and tender with really good potatoes, rice with vegetables, the make your own salad, shrimp/scallop scampi which I didn't try but my bf said was good, soup, bread, and other goodies they had..ohh and the chocolate covered strawberries mmm had a good time overall with a hot date and good food!! Ohh and their hostess/waiters are really nice and attentive!!

To be fair, I've never really been a fan of buffets, but I was willing to give it a shot as I was a guest, so my mind was open, and I was prepared to be impressed. The service was really nice, attentive and friendly. Plates and cutlery were cleared efficiently and new items brought out promptly. However, there was confusion over some ingredients, and in the end the stir-fry guy never made a second plate for us and walked away. Huh. The self serve items were okay. Nothing stand out, but each had their own distinct flavour, which was nice. The fish was on the dry side, however. The dessert table had a huge selection, but I was trying to behave so only tried a couple things. The chocolate and Macadamia nut covered bananas were nice, and the creme caramel very rich, thick, and delicious (so rich I couldn't finish it). The fruit spread was nice, too. Breakfast sounds like the time to be here, or when they have crab legs. I wouldn't return for the regular buffet, though.

Excellent food and so much variety!! Our hotel package included the breakfast buffet. There was plenty there: Breads, pastries, waffles, fruit, cereal, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, etc. And the type of sausage and potatoes rotated from day to day, so it wasn't the same every time which was nice for variety. The buffet also caters to Japanese guests with the salad and miso soup. I wanted to try it, but I like a typical American breakfast with eggs too much! The omelet station was the best - Yum! The first day we went in, the guy working the station saw my husband had a t-shirt on from NC. His father was stationed in NC with the military for a while so he lived here when he was younger. He seemed to take a shine to us, and gave us some recommendations to try, like the pineapple and papaya juice and the waffles with coconut and pineapple syrup, and also some suggestions on what to do in the area. Toward the end of our meal, he actually left his station to bring us the waffle concoction. It was wonderful! The waitresses actually remembered our names and even sometimes our room numbers - they were very sweet! I have to admit I was shocked with what the cost would have been if it hadn't come with our room - we almost certainly would not have eaten there, but this was definitely a highlight of our stay!

Kuhio Beach Grill has a different buffet every night. I wish we had realized the weekend buffet menu (crab legs and prime rib), but the weekday menu was less than exciting. Very standard offerings, and nothing was out-of-this-world amazingly tasty. If you have kids, or people in your group who like simple, American food - then this is probably a good bet for your money. We went here because there were huge storms and rain, and this restaurant was in the Marriott we were staying in. We had been to Sansei the night before, and wanted to try something new. The noises the teachers make in the Peanuts cartoons about sums it up for me, but then I like a little more adventure with my food.

Well, their prime ribs, crab legs were outstanding, and service was topnotch, deserving four star or more; however, other stations, except dessert and salad bar, were sub-par; drinking water needs filtering! So, I gave it three star overall. Early bird (1700-1800) is the way to go. It will save you $7.00 per person. Also, 4 hours complimentary parking in Waikiki cannot be beat. Lastly, free soft drinks and coffee are icing on the cake. Will definitely visit again whenever I have the urge for prime ribs and crab legs.

Where are the negative stars? On prior visits to Waikiki, I had eaten at the Kuhio Beach Grill and it was not bad. On this visit, it was HORRIBLE. We wanted a buffet, and had eaten at two others that were outstanding, but wanted to try something different, so we hit the Kuhio Beach Grill for my birthday dinner. The place was dead....and we came to realize why. All the food was flavorless, the 'chef' at the pasta line must have had a rough day and he was passing it on to the customers, all of the staff just looked miserable as they shuffled around the place and were overheard in the back area asking each other 'what the hell do you know'. When I flagged down a manger and expressed my deep disappointment she made the comment 'well, we are really slow tonight'. The other buffets were BUSY. Coincidence? I don't think so......everyone just realized how crappy Kuhio Beach Grill is and WAY OVERPRICED for a Sizzler buffet.

Prime rib was good at the dinner buffet, dessert was excellent, and as another patron put it " they where probably not made here", otherwise the menu was kind of bland for the price. Service was good.

I thought this place was just ok food wise. My mom really wanted to try this place because she was told this place was really good, and while I'm not a huge fan of buffets, we decided to try this place as our last dinner before we headed back to SF the next day. I didn't think the selection was very expansive as far as buffets are concerned. The special was prime rib (that was good) and the crab legs (that was really good, simply steamed and not salty at all) but everything else was just blah. I picked up a few sides, but didn't wind up finishing it and just focused on the crab legs during the rest of my dinner. The service was good, but when we got our check they forgot to add our 20% off discount and my mom went to the cashier to have them correct it. Now $6 isn't a big deal, but the asshole cashier there said that my mom had attitude and I told him that because of his comment, it would be very easy for me to complain to the manager and wind up not paying for it at all. just do your goddamn job and do it with aloha like everyone else!

This breakfast buffet is terrible - one star is for my nice waiter and the friendly omelette guy. Food is really awful overheated buffet. Scrambled eggs unedible. Choose another option if you can.

Was given a 20% off coupon at the front desk of the Marriott and took a look see. it was a Sunday night. large Crab legs-tasted way too salty and i love me some salt. prime rib- no real complaints Rosemary chicken- Disgustingly over seasoned. only good thing was the Desert table and fruit bowl. service was all around good. I will not return

Nothing great or bad about this Marriott Hotel restaurant. Like the rest of the hotel, it desperately needs updating. You swear one of the Golden Girls (or all 4 of them) are going to pop out somewhere in the restaurant. Service can be down right grouchy and mean or very pleasant. I have mostly the former, and a bit of the latter. The prices are beyond insane, even for Waikiki Beach. To spend $18 on an omelet in a restaurant that looks like a nursing home cafeteria is just moronic. That doesn't even include if you want to have juice or coffee. I passed by Margaritaville and they say they have a buffet for 11.95 every day. That sounds more palatable. By the way, guess how much the breakfast buffet is? 27.95! Yes you heard me right- if there is no special, it is that much! And it surely doesn't look that impressive either! All in all, the food is decent breakfast food if you order off the menu.

I don't even know where to start. 4PM, a sunny Sunday afternoon. My buddy says "Let's get sushi". I say "Yea! Let's go to Sansei! (Which is upstairs from this hole). We start the drive into waki waki around 4:30PM, and immediately hit massive traffic on the Ala Moana side. Turns out it was due to the "Honolulu Street Festival" or some crap like that. I was furious. Time was running out - we had to be in line for Sansei or we wouldn't get a spot. After sitting through another 20 minutes of infuriating Hawaiian traffic, we finally park (about 1/2 mile away) and get to Sansei. DID WE MAKE IT?! Obviously not, because I'm writing a review of a shitty buffet. The half off happy hour sushi bar was sold out - we walked out with heads hanging low. At this point, we were pissed off and starving so stepped into this place. It actually wasn't THAT bad. Actually, if you're an overweight, middle-American douche, you'll love this place (nothing against those folk). Super heavy offerings, lots of cream, butter, grease etc. Mediocre variety. OK service. We scarfed down some junk and left within 20 minutes. I guess this was more a gripe on how we didn't get into Sansei than a rant on how bad a restaurant this was. Sorry, "Kuhio Beach Grill" caught the fallout from me not getting Sansei...

I only had breakfast there, but what I ate was pretty good as far as tourist-friendly food.

Easily 4 stars. For the simple fact that you can pay $40 for 2 to eat all you want prime rib et al. On Waikiki? Kidding me? Turn off the want in you to be seen or heard at a popular spot and come here if your hungry....

This restaurant is part of the Waikiki Marriott. We were staying at the Marriott and got in around dinner time. After a day of travel, we figured let's just eat at the hotel. Decor was dated. We had the dinner buffet, I believe it was Asian night. It was some sort of pan-Asian assortment, including a stir fry bar made to order. In general, not very good Asian food.

  • Brian S.

Prime rib and crab legs were good. We got the 30% Twitter discount and that is why we ate there. Everything else was average. Coffee was $4. That is a little steep. Still, if you want crab and prime rib, I would eat here (with the 30% discount).

    (3)
  • Corey C.

So-so. The prime rib was pretty good, but otherwise it's a pretty standard buffet with nothing really standing out. You can do better in this area!

Great variety of excellent food for all persuasions. Did the breakfast buffet about $20 per person. $10 for under 12. Lots of fresh juices, eggs pancakes, waffles, made to order omelets, pastries, sausage bacon, fresh fruit and meat and cheeses for the brunch crowd. High quaility fare.

Very laid back, good customer service. Breakfast was filling for us, but dinner was our favorite because of the unlimited crab legs and prime rib, the other entrees we didn't care much about.

Great selection for the breakfast buffet -- we got free breakfast with the hotel package. They have your typical international buffet items (pastries, fruit, etc) plus hot items (steam rice, eggs, sausage -- sorry, no spam here!) The line for the made to order omelettes are always long, yes, even at 6:30 a.m. Tourists actually get up early to go to the beach! The waistaff are efficient and friendly. Just watch out for the little hungy birdies pecking around the floor for your extra crumbs.

This place seemed pretty dead, but we checked it out anyway. Lobster was good, but was a bit on the small side, I left the place hungry. Beer was very good and cheap. I am taking off 1 star because when they served lobster, they did not provide any tool to break the claws.... I asked a couple of waiters, but they said they don't have anything like that. I was pretty shocked and kept on asking, until 1 of them finally found it. Weird.

  • L T.

What a waste of money. The selection here is very limited, we were charge for $3 for soda, then $4 for coffee. This is the first time I heard of a buffet charging customers for drinks.

  • Kelly A.

Service and food were not great! I wouldn't pay full price for this small buffet. On the other hand, using an Entertainment coupon should have been okay but was not welcomed on our visit. Ray, the manager, is wonderful in handling the matter. I hate to negatively review something that was well handled by a manager, but this waitress that made a stink of the coupon in front of other customers left me in a very bad position with those I recommended there (clients/students). Very, very bad publicity for this American joint! Will not send anyone to this restaurant again. They really need to work with their waitresses at this location. I still think they should have returned the 17% gratuity from this waitress. She doesn't deserve the tip.

what a sad sad dinner buffet. save your money and go elsewhere. there was only light one vegetarian option and it was a side dish of wilted green beans. my dad and sister walked out because they didn't have a good spread either. the breakfast was slightly better, but the only thing that I ate was yogurt with granola, cereal and fruit. $15? I think not. I ended up just going to Safeway and buying bagels, creamcheese, and breakfast bars. $20 is not bad considering many other restaurants with easily charge you that for an entree. But the service her is lackluster.

A nice spot to catch a quick breakfast if you are staying at the Marriott or nearby hotels. This is not a Las Vegas style buffet with umpteen choices, but the basics are covered, including a made-to-order omelette station. Waitstaff are pleasant and quick to come around. When the weather is nice, you can sit on the patio (below sidewalk level) and still see the ocean across the street. Good for kids because they are outdoors, but contained within the walls of the patio.

Went here once for dinner and once for breakfast. The dinner was definitely better than the breakfast despite the price difference. The dinner wasn't spectacular by any means, but a good solid 3 stars. Mostly because the crab legs were actually very good. There isn't a huge selection though. There is a nice outdoor patio, with a little waterfall and koi pond. We went another time for the breakfast buffet. This is where I get a little erked. I called ahead of time and asked if they have Eggs Benedict with the buffet. The hostess said, "Yes it is on the menu." Now once I got there, there was no eggs benedict to be found. I asked the server, and she said that I had to order it separately. I was peeved, but oh well. The rest of the breakfast selection wasn't that great. Pretty standard fare. I'm sure you can find better in the area for breakfast. Service was attentive though, despite being a buffet. Probably won't be back though. In terms of food selection, I'd give the dinner 3 stars and the breakfast 2 stars. Service was a solid 3 stars.

  • Nick A.

I stayed at this hotel and went here one night as we kept seeing the signs for the buffet this place had. All n all the food was good but felt there wasn't all that much of a selection given the price ($20/head). One plus was live entertainment w/ traditional Hawaiian dancing.

    (4)

  • Lei L.

Although their breakfast menu ain't all that great, their daily dinner especially all you can eat prime rib and crab are off the hook. Great services too.

Bizarre.

I highly recommend staying away from this place and keep your money in your wallet!!!

best kept secret for crab leg and prime rib . this buffet is on the small side , but if you love to eat crab leg and prime rib , this is the place to be . the crab legs are steamed and served with clarified butter . the hot food section is so so , nothing really worth mentioning . there is a salad bar , some soup and cheese. but wait..... there is the best cake dessert section i've ever seen on a buffet . this is cake heaven... i love cake , and usually it's very dissapointing on buffets , but not this one. i had the chantilly , mango , coconut and chocolate cake. all off them super delicious and oh so fluffy and soft. there were some cheesecake and other desserts too, but i was already too full ... next time.. the crab legs are only served fri-sun dinner buffet . the price is 37.95 $ , but if you go there between 5 -6 pm , you get 20 % discount . so you only pay 30.36 $ per person for all you can eat crab leg and prime rib .

We love this place. We always eat here when we visit Hawaii. Food is great, desserts are amazing. Our waiter, Cheung is always helpful and provides great service. I would highly recommend this place.

Sorry

    (2)

Weird.

I stayed at this hotel and went here one night as we kept seeing the signs for the buffet this place had. All n all the food was good but felt there wasn't all that much of a selection given the price ($20/head). One plus was live entertainment w/ traditional Hawaiian dancing.
