After chowing down on musubi, banana mac pancakes, poke by the pound, malsadas and other yummy Hawaiian treats, a little kale salad couldn't hurt. Kaimana Farm Cafe to the rescue. Every internal organ says thank you to the ladies behind the counter for offering healthy food alternatives for travelers and locals alike. Cutesy interior, I could see why gal pals would visit for brunch or afternoon tea. Very Japanese meets Etsy. I even bought a pair of earrings for sale from the lady who owns the cafe, her sister makes them in Japan and ships them over to Hawaii. Kale salad was just the right amount, not too big and not too small. Not too rough, either. Perfect for a hot afternoon. It also made me feel less guilty for consuming my body weight in calories the rest of the day.

I love this place. I've been here twice, and vow to come more if they'll have me. I want to live here! The rustic cute antique atmosphere is fantastic. Japanese Hawaii American fusion cafe feel, with incredible food and drinks, it's wonderful! I love the decor, wood white and rustic, and the chalkboard walls, so quaint. The food is a bit pricey, but I feel it's worth it because it's farm fresh food and tastes great. Drinks are super, price and taste wise. The first time I came it was a Thursday and not busy at all. I'm here today on a Sunday and they had a huge rush! Which I'm very happy for, for them. But I'd say time your visit, like you would any other great place. The service is awesome, and I like buying up front because I don't have to worry about paying later. I came with my boyfriend the first time and we got food and drinks which was wonderful, and today I flew solo and sat at the beautiful window bar for hours (sorry guys!) and got a cafe latte, Delish! The food can have a wait, but not by an incredible amount, as they make it fresh.

Great selection. Came here on a yelpie friend's recommendation. Since Sweet Es was backed up with tourists, we redirected and found the off street parking for the Kaimana Cafe. Our friend said "you gotta try it! Japanese style. Healthy food selections, supporting farm fresh foods. A bit pricy, but food presentation rivals similar establishments. Lots of sides!

Service was excellent. Omelet with mozzarella cheese was soooo yummy. Never had anything like it Hubby had Kakuni Eggs Benedict and was very happy with that too! Great sides. Dying to try the Kinako Smoothy. Will be back!

Located on Kapahulu Avenue, across from Safeway, this cozy little café is worth checking out. Kaimana achieves a pleasant organic vibe for breakfast/brunch, lunch, coffee, and tea. Refurbished tables, black chalkboards, and elegant lighting elements help with the rustic organic feel, though decor falls a bit short in reaching the next level. I had the soufflé omelette. Unlike anything I've ever had and it was good! Light, airy, and fluffy - a new taste/texture I really enjoyed. The tangy sauce on top complemented well. A signature dish. The big, spotless window facing busy Kapahulu Avenue allows you to watch the world whiz by as you relax and enjoy your iced coffee, contemplating life, love, and skinny jeans. PARKING - around the corner, in the back, easy.

Overall impression: Quaint, cool little place with rustic ambience and healthy food that tastes great! Highly recommend you come here. Average price: ~$12-15/meal Positives: -outstanding ambience -healthy -the servers are really nice -the food is delicious -unique. Blend of japanese and American rustic. -serves breakfast and lunch all day Negatives: -parking is a bit out of the way/difficult -on the pricier side but good value for what you get! -the style of how you pay sort of prompts you to tip in advance. But you don't have to do that. Just leave money at the table. Unfortunately if you do it that way though, you can't tip through credit card. Ambience: 5 stars This really makes the place what it is. In fact, it was the reason we came in the first place. My wife noticed the storefront with the wooden tables and mason jars with fresh fern leaves and wanted to go eat there. Well, the inside is even better! They have beautiful wooden farm tables, chandeliers, more mason jars with ferns, a glass water pitcher with slices of fruit in it, antique items all around, and best of all, there's air conditioning! That's right, you get all this outdoorsey rustic stuff with nice, cool indoor breeze. It was awesome. Value: 4 stars It's pricey but for the type of food that you're getting (healthy, organic, delicious) it's actually a pretty good deal. I was definitely filled when I finished my meal and I felt much better afterward than if I had eaten some large, greasy meal. Taste: 4.5 stars Absolutely delicious! I loved my kale salad and the regular salad they gave us. My wife's soufflé was very good and my potato/egg skillet was bomb! The iced cafe mocha was a perfect way to top it all off. Probably a bit sweet for most people but I tend to like really sweet drinks. My wife and I were both impressed by the way they blended japanese dishes with the rustic, healthy foods like kale and potatoes. Service: 5 stars Well, we came on a Saturday morning at about 730/8 and there was no one else there but us so we probably got a lot more attention than others have but they sure did treat us well! The food came very fast. The water is self-serve, which I liked. The server kept checking in with us to make sure we were satisfied and doing okay. Towards the end of our meal, another couple came in, but we were still treated well while they were there.

We first came here because it is right down the street from us; just a short walk. It opened a little past its sign time but not that bad. When you enter, it's pretty spacious. It's decor is a handmade shabby chic. I gave this place 5 stars trying very hard to find ways to lessen the rating. Let me say this, it is kind of self serve and the faire is a HEALTHY alternative to all the breakfast places out there. The food, to me, outweighs any limitation this place has. You seat yourself after you order at the counter. The coffee is soso. You can order from the full menu at any time. Except for the hamburger steak is only available on Saturday or Sunday. They take reservations only on weekdays. The owner is Junko from LA. She says she might put into the Japanese tourist books. So come to this place when it's not crowded and hard to get a seat. The cost is very reasonable. Darcie always like to eat salmon lox. Their's is pretty good. I always eat the dijon chicken with brown rice and five sides. My sides are usually a mixture but include hijkik, brussel sprouts, fruits and two more of the ever new.

The morning after we came back from our vacation in NYC, we decided to try out this spot on Kapahulu. We live nearby so we figured we should give it a try now since they have been around for a bit. The service was good. The girl that took our order was very friendly. I ordered the souffle omelette since I read so many great reviews about it on yelp, but unfortunately, I don't think that was my cup of tea. My fiance ordered the ahi sandwich, and that was good! I would come back for lunch to order that sandwich. But I did have a weird experience at this restaurant. When we were looking through the menu, deciding what we wanted to order, a homeless woman comes in with a young girl. The young girl looked beat up (not physically) but that she's been roughing it on the streets. She complained about how expensive the food is and that she can't afford it. My fiance felt bad for the girl so he decided to give the woman some money so she can buy them food. This woman comes to the restaurant and returns the money and decides she wants to get into an argument with me in front of everyone at the restaurant (she said some really offensive things). I won't get into detail about that, but that was definitely not a good start to my day. Thankfully, the girl asked the woman to leave the restaurant. I haven't been back since then..

Came here after a 3 hr hike with our dogs and sat outside. The staff was more than accommodating, greeted our pups and brought out a doggie bowl with water. There aren't a lot of spots in town that is pet friendly and serves up really great local organic fare. The food after a hike the spot, I had the power bento and it was delicious. 5 sides with chicken and brown rice. Hubbies has the veggie sandwich which also was tasty and fresh. The decor inside is adorable and reminds me of the cute cafes all over Japan. and thank you kaimana staff for such excellent service. They went above and beyond.

The words "cute", "little" and "healthy" are all you really need to know about Kaimana Farm Cafe. The breakfast menu has about five classic options such as two eggs and spam, French Toast, and Eggs Benedict but the lunch options are much more extensive. The Eggs Benedict was really tasty and my husband liked his eggs and said the spam was super tasty. Can Spam be organic? The OJ and coffee were good quality too. This is a great breakfast option if you're in the Kaimuki area and don't feel like braving the lines at Sweet E's, Bogarts, or Cafe Kaila.

We really wanted to like this place and were excited to try something new for a change. But after today, we'll be returning to our old standbys for a reason. The inside of the cafe is really cute, and we loved that they offer so many dishes with locally sourced eggs, produce, etc. The food itself was mostly pretty good...there were hits and misses. We certainly didn't feel that it was worth the money we paid. But for us, the biggest issue was with the service. Also, parents: I don't recommend bringing children that are young enough to require a booster or high chair. I'll explain more why. Here's how our experience went down: We arrived, immediately put our name on a waiting list, and waited 30 minutes for a table to open up. For such a small space, they had 3 or 4 servers on hand, which I would think (having been a waitress for many years through high school and college) would be adequate. But that wasn't the case today - servers were very friendly and wanted to be helpful but were totally inexperienced and we had to constantly ask for everything. Once we were seated, we wanted to put an order in right away, and had chosen our items while we were waiting for a table, but we had to wait another 25 minutes before we could get a server to take our order. It was frustrating watching people who came in and were seated after us being waited on and have their food delivered before anyone had even come to speak to us. I had my 2 year old with me and while she's actually quite good in restaurants, this wait had us nearly ready to give up entirely - it was simply too much. In retrospect, I wish we had just bailed. We finally managed to flag down one of the servers, gave our order and waited another 20 minutes for the food to come out. When it came, we still didn't have utensils or napkins. When we asked for them, she only brought out forks -- we had ordered an acai bowl and french toast, so we had to ask her to go back for spoons and knives. I ordered coffee, but milk and sugar were never offered, and at this point I was simply too tired of asking for everything to be brought out, so drank it black. The chairs in the restaurant are all small circular bistro chairs. They did bring a booster seat for my daughter (we had to ask for it, of course) but it was too large to fit on the chair. It slipped off the seat twice (with my daughter in it) so we finally gave up and had her sit on my lap. Thankfully I was holding on to the booster chair both times so she didn't fall on the ground, but still we were both pretty shaken and frankly, I was done with this place. The food, as I said, was okay. My daughter had a nice blueberry muffin - good. We ordered the omelette souffle and the french toast to share - the souffle was okay - certainly different, but not our favorite. The french toast was really excellent and I'd highly recommend it. The acai bowl was good but smaller than we expected for the price (you get much more for your money at other acai bowl places in town). The pineapple coconut smoothie was a totally overpriced bomb...don't bother. $4 for a large coffee with no refills - don't bother. The iced matcha was good. $57 for not that much food - and not a whole lot of bang for your buck. So my final thoughts: don't bring kids, come only if you're not pressed in any way for time, don't mind fetching your own water and basically anything else you might need for the meal, and aren't worried about the high prices. There definitely are some great dishes here that could be worth it if they can sort out the issues with the service.

I pass by this place on my way to work daily but never really felt the urge to try it because from the outside it doesn't look very inviting. I heard from a friend that their food was surprisingly good so I came here one Sunday morning for brunch. I like the fact they have a parking lot in the back since parking is so limited in that area. When you walk in, you don't expect it to be this cute little quaint cafe. Very Japanese like and homely. They have an interesting menu, things you don't see at other cafes. They have all sorts of breakfast items, sandwiches and health foods. I decided on the Power Bento because you can pick up to 5 sides. I chose the quinoa, kale salad, Brussel sprouts, curry pasta salad and hijiki! This came with a choice of chicken Dijon or croquette. I opted for the chicken which ended up being a really good choice. I loved the healthy side options! All were very good and I didn't feel bad about eating it. Plus their foods are locally grown! My friend ordered the soufflé omelette which was one of the popular items. The omelette was nice and fluffy but it would be nice if it had something inside. My friend thought it was soso. They also serve drinks and coffees in mason jars which always makes it more cool... Not sure why. Only problem I had with this place was the wait for our food seemed a tad bit too long. Didn't think an omelette or chicken could take so long... But overall I really enjoyed it. Another cool cafe/brunch spot to go to!

As a brand new business I think they still have some kinks to work out and that takes time so I'm going to be generous. Located right on Kapahulu Avenue across from Safeway, Kaimana Farm Cafe is a small but adorable spot. EGGS BENEDICT: My girlfriend ordered the eggs benedict and from the moment it landed on our table I knew it wasn't going to be spectacular. PORK BOWL: We had planned on going to Your Kitchen but because they're closed on Mondays this was my replacement. The pork was tender and covered in a drizzle of sweet sauce. My friend was nice enough to ask for more on the side and it definitely needed it. The egg was hard boiled, but not as tender as I would have liked. VEGGIE SANDWICH: Veggie sandwich was amazing! I think you'd enjoy this even if you don't care about being healthy. The bread had cranberries and nuts embedded into it which gave the sandwich additional texture and depth. Who knew veggies could be so exciting?! This is definitely what I would order on my next visit! HEALTHY SIDES: Another plus, is that all the entrees come with your choice of a small healthy side. Kale salad, couscous, fruit and more! PARKING: Street side or small parking lot next door to Waiola Shave Ice around the corner. This is a Japanese owned spot, and the women who work here are really sweet, albeit still struggling to figure things out. The woman who was cashiering was still trying to figure out the register and my friend ended up having to reorder a different dish because they ran out of what she had originally ordered. Did I forget to mention that it was really warm inside because the air conditioning isn't strong enough to cool the entire place? Don't worry, there's Waiola shave ice around the corner. Opening a new restaurant isn't the easiest thing in the world so be patient and order the veggie sandwich.

I really wanted to like this place. My husband and I drive past it on our way to Tucker & Bevvy for breakfast all the time and today we decided to stop and give it a try instead based on a review of their soufflé omelette we saw on Thrillist. I wish we kept driving. The restaurant itself is very quaint and the decor is nice, although I'm not crazy about the shared table concept so we ended up on a table for 2 that was very oddly positioned, crammed and uncomfortable. We ordered the soufflé omelette and the pork belly Benedict and 2 coffees. Our coffee was served while we waited for the food to arrive and I guess it's a self serve concept of sorts, no cream or sugar on the table. The sugar packets were available on the condiment table near the door and we had to ask for cream which was served in a tiny glass cup and came with enough cream for one cup of coffee not the both of ours. The coffee itself had a good flavor but it was served to us lukewarm. My husband and I planned to share both dishes. The Benedict came out first and we were only provided with one set of utensils. The omelette didn't come for several minutes later so we had to share the one set of utensils at first. The flavor of the pork belly was not what I had expected. It tasted as if it had been marinated for too long in a teriyaki based sauce, so it was quite sweet and not hearty tasting as I had hoped. The eggs were overcooked for poached eggs. All in all the flavor and preparation was not great. And there was so much spinach that it almost looked like a salad. I hoped the soufflé omelette would be better but it was also disappointing. The texture was great, very light and airy. But that is unfortunately the best part of the dish. The taste was very bland and the risotto cold, dry and oddly sweet. I needed some water to wash everything down and also realized that it was self serve. The restaurant uses Square, you pay when you place your order and there are tip options of 15%-20%. I opted to tip 20% but had I realized that everything would be self service and that the wait staff wouldn't really be there to make sure you had everything like utensils, cream and sugar for our coffee or even point out that if we wanted water we would have to get it ourselves, I probably would not have tipped that much in advance. Sad to say we will probably not be back. There are some easy changes that can be made with the set up of the restaurant and the way it is operated that can provide for a much better experience, but based on the 2 dishes we ordered I am not terribly hopeful for a better gastronomic experience should we return again.

My girlfriend and I love going to cafes to have a quiet brunch on Sunday's. This place definitely fit what we were looking for, I loved the ambiance of the place, very homey and rustic. I ordered the soufflé omelet and my girlfriend got the ahi sandwich. Hers came out first and it was really good but it was awhile before my omelet made it out. Even though the wait for my food was kind of long they where very nice about it and gave me free fried rice :). The service and ambiance deserve 5 stars. The only two down sides is that it is a little pricey, but it's all fresh local produce so it makes sense, and the sides are real tasty but not real breakfasty. I would definitely recommend the Kaimana Farm Cafe to any one who loves cute little cafes And doesn't mind spending a little extra for fresh local produce.

A new breakfast/lunch cafe that has opened in Kapahulu, right across Safeway. As of now, there is no parking but I hear that it is soon to come, just a heads up. Service was just eh, very slow. It seems as if the workers didn't really care whether you came in or went out at all but it didn't bother me as much. Onto the food -- SOUFFLÉ OMELETTE // $9.50 A plate filled with fried ketchup rice and topped with a soufflé omelette that is drizzled with a ketchup-mayo like sauce. I thought the egg was delicious with the sauce BUT the rice seemed old? like there would be small balls of rice that just wouldn't break.. it was kind of disappointing. ICED CAFE LATTE // $2.80 Honestly, don't get any coffee there. Literally, just warm warm hot milk that is really watered down. I couldn't drink it all. I thought it was supposed to be ice but the drink itself was hot.... Never again.... Overall, I don't think I'll be coming back. Maybe it's because they just started out but my experience was not so good. Really $$$ for mediocre food, horrible "coffee" and bleh service. Oh yeah, and they don't have AC meaning, it's pretty hot/warm inside the cafe. I won't be returning.

Repurposed furnishings, kind of cozy considering it's on the main street with cars constantly whizzing by. Coffee brewed to order and water from large jar with lemons bathing in it. Daily offerings posted on the wall behind the cashier, I was told that their still playing with the menu, prices on par with their offerings. It can get a little warm with only a small AC unit in the corner and two ceiling fans. I tried the Soufflé Omelette with tomato cream risotto $9.50 and added mozzarella chese for $2.00 more. Local breakfast two eggs, two scoops rice, spam $6.50 and added bacon for.70. Which they ran out of bacon within a hour of opening. The food was pretty good, although we weren't offered a refill on our coffee I didn't mind. Being so new there are going to kinks and I really hope they make it in this Kapahulu area. *3.5 Stars on my first visit...

Went there for a little breakfast. Everything was perfect. We tried the traditional Hawaiian breakfast and it was amazingly good. We were a bit disappointed by the green tea scone which was a bit dry for us. The place is also very cosy and well decorated.

lovely people; uneven food. the deli items for the sides and the bento were decent, but the salad was terrible. the house vinaigrette had no distinguishing notes, and drenched the greens. the baked items were too sweet and a tad doughy. great idea, but better execution needed.

Such a refreshing and cute place. The food is fresh and delicious! I tried the souffle omelette with tomato risotto and it was yummy and suuuuuper fluffy. My favorite though which I definitely recommend is the eggs benedict they are AMAZING!! They serve lemon water and their dishes all come with a complimentary deli salad, be prepared it is a small portion but really good. I highly suggest the Hijiki Salad :)

ATMOSPHERE: Cute little place with a few small 2-seaters and a long table for a bigger party. Nice chalk board menus and display of their deli sides. Thank goodness this place has AC with it being so hot and humid during these summer days. Overall, clean and cute interior. I went early in the morning when there were only a few customers seated, but I could imagine it getting stuffy during a full house. FOOD: Meh, I've had better. I probably should've opted for the French Toast. We ordered the Soufflé Omelette and Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict. Souffle Omelette (1 star) - Kind of gross. I don't know what the hype is all about. It felt like I was eating egg-flavored foam, lots of bubbles, nothing to chew. (Was it undercooked?) This was my first stab at a Souffle style egg-- I think I will stick to regular omelettes. I've had excellent fluffy scrambled eggs, but the souffle texture is a bit too wet/foamy for my tongue. My friend was not fond of the texture either, so unfortunately we could only finish half of the "omelette". If you're into savory, egg-flavored foam (think the tops of a latte!), this is the plate for you. The risotto rice tasted okay, but was slightly cold. Just not impressed and certainly not worth $13+. (Looking at past reviews, the prices went up a couple dollars.) Made my wallet choke and paid an additional $2 for a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella cheese. Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict (3 stars) - My friend, who loves salmon/eggs benedict, ordered this. She thought this was just okay, nothing special. She actually expected it to be more flavorful... Deli sides (3 stars) - Quinoa and potato salad-- this was good but again nothing special. The quinoa had a light shoyu flavor that resembled what you taste in shoyu poke. The potato salad was creative with the different veggies thrown in. Nice selection of deli sides, but I think the sides (with the exception of the fresh fruit) would go better with the lunch plates. SERVICE: You have to walk up to order and pay and then wait for your meal at your table. (They give you a number. Kind of like Nordstrom Cafe.) Nice lady worked this morning... no problems with service. Overall, cute decor and I like that they use local produce. Unfortunately, for the price and taste, I was not satisfied. Perhaps they do lunch better? But considering the other places I could hit up in Hawaii for awesome taste at a cheaper price, I probably won't be coming back here.

I usually don't go for egg Benedict but they ran out of French toast so I choose the egg Benedict instead and I don't regret it all all! the egg was cooked perfectly, not super runny and messy like most places! I got the salmon one but be careful but I thought it was cooked but it's actually raw. the mango juice was also extremly tasty and refreshing! definitely would come here again and customer service was great too! :-)

If you want a fresh breakfast with many options, come here. With many of the entrees you get a few small sides, all of which are unique flavors and styles. The Eggs Benedict was delicious. The place has the hipster feel, very welcoming, and excellent staff. One of my new favorite places to grab breakfast.

Kaimana Farm Cafe is a cute little place that boasts fresh and local food. First things first: parking is around the corner of this place (mauka side of the building) and on the other side of Waiola Shave ice. It's a smallish lot, so if you can, pass up on bringing the giant 9 seater SUV or maxi 4x4 pickup. When we arrived, there were only about 4 patrons sitting at 2-top tables. In addition to a few more 2-tops, there is a really big, communal table that takes up the bulk of the space. Warning--if you sit at the big table, the surface is very uneven...be sure you've got a level place to put liquids such as hot coffee so they don't spill! Fortunately it was only water that spilled while we were there. Both myself and my Brekky Buddie (heh, you have a new name!!) decided on the Pork Belly Eggs Benedict, which came with a side that you select from the deli case. All of the sides looked quite healthy, which I think was a good counterpoint to the porky hollandaisy goodness. I'm going to convince myself that the fresh spinach, added to my benedict, was also a healthy touch. Flavor was good, staff was nice (you order at the register, get a number, and your food is delivered to your table. Right after we got our food, the place got slammed and suddenly the huge communal table had about 6 more people added to the mix. This was interesting as we got to see what they ordered. Unfortunately, the kitchen seemed to be overwhelmed as orders were getting very badly mixed up. A guy was served a spam benedict instead of salmon benedict, side orders were confused, side orders ran out....The gal serving couldn't have been more gracious, and the customers were very cool about it. As I was leaving, I noticed that in addition to meals, and a wide variety of coffee drinks, they also sold smoothies in some interesting flavors. If I'm in the area and looking for healthy-ish options, I'd go back....if nothing else to try a smoothie.

great little restaurant for breakfast/brunch! LOVE LOVE LOVE the soufflé omelette! it's light and fluffy, and if you get it with the mozzarella cheese (for $2 extra) it's oozy and gooey! delicious! it comes with risotto and a side (I always get the fresh fruit). we come on Sunday mornings for breakfast and service has been nice and quick an friendly. coffee refills are free! smoothies are a bit small, but made from yummy fresh fruit. the yuzu ice tea is the best! parking is in the back. if you're in the area I'd recommend stopping in!

The restaurant leaves you with a cool rustic feel. Both inside and out. The staff were pleasant and soo enthusiastic about the food the served. The food speaks for itself, it was soo good in the morning that we went back for lunch. Must have is the pork kakuni bowl. Prices were average we found $10-15. The thing we really liked is that they use all local farm produce which makes for really fresh ingredients. Will defiantly be going back before we leave Hawaii.

I wanted to love this place. With the cute albeit inconsistently finished decor and promise of fresh, locally sourced ingredients, it seemed promising. The first problem was that the cashier/hostess/waitress was super nice but seemed to not have much knowledge about the menu. She couldn't answer my husband's question about what the pork steak was or my question about whether or not the chicken sandwich was thigh or breast without consulting someone else. Aside from that, the salads that are showcased in the glass case appear to be either minimal display portions or produced in such small quantities that they look dry and lifeless. Either way--not promising. My husband's pork steak with eggs Benedict was first to arrive. Upon cutting into the egg, he discovered that it was nearly cooked all the way through. He tried the second and it was about the same--85% cooked. Disappointed, he noticed that the egg whites were in a molded domed shape and full of air bubbles. We both concluded that they were microwaved because the white had been heated to a boil in such a manner that the air bubbles couldn't escape. Upon showing the waitress the eggs and asking if the were microwaved, she claimed they were poached but we had doubts that she even knew what that meant. She offered to have them redone and soon brought back a new pair, still perfectly molded but this time barely cooked so that the egg yolk was nearly raw. Not surprisingly, the tell-tale air bubbles were still there. Whether they were microwaved in a mild or "poached" in a mold using water that was too hot, the eggs were beyond disappointing. To make it worse, the pork steak was so salty that my meat-loving husband could barely eat half of the small portion before all the english muffin was consumed and with nothing left to combat the saltiness, he had to stop. In contrast, my chicken sandwich looked delicious. With a huge piece of chicken, I was thinking nothing could go wrong. Sadly, the chicken was quite dry and my locally sourced sandwich ingredients included slices of processed American cheese which do not match my definition of fresh or local. As disappointing as this was thus far, the real failure was the hojicha latte which looked and tasted like little more than watered down milk. There was barely a hint of hojicha flavor and only because I was trying to taste it. All in all, the execution and flavors were nearly a total fail and the appearance of processed cheese in an establishment touting local, fresh ingredients simply incongruous. If you venture here, my advice to you is buyer beware.

Checked out this place after a few raves from friends and food pictures I've seen on Facebook. The staff was very helpful and friendly with accommodating us on food choices. We enjoyed our experience and loved the food. We'll be back for more! *parking is located behind, next to the shave ice parking.

They forgot to place my order. Good thing I got up to inquire or I would never have gotten my food. They didn't even notice that only one plate got served. They were very apologetic once I spoke up. Ate some of my husband's food since he got his order on time. His pork Benedict was good especially since I was hungry. By the time I got my food he was done. Kind of lost my appetite so ate half of the omelette. If not for that I think I would have enjoyed it. First and last time I'll be eating there though. But more food for you!

I should start off by saying this place is pretty tiny. Five small tables, a three-seat bar, and one large table inside, and a couple more seats outside. The atmosphere is pretty adorable though--wooden tables and chalkboard menus. When you walk in, grab a seat as fast as you can, and then go up to the cashier to order. Our drinks took a little under 10 minutes, meals took much longer. With three people in our party, the first got their food in 20 minutes, mine in 25, and the third in 40 (honestly I think they forgot about the order. They even messed it up, but at that point we weren't going to complain). They did give us free fruit to try make up for the wait. If you're planning to actually eat at the same time, forget about it. The servers are adorable but kind of clueless--they stood around instead of clearing dishes left behind by previous diners (which would obviously allow the customers who were standing and waiting for a table to sit). The food, however, was a redeeming factor. I ordered the pork belly eggs Benedict, and had bites of the strawberry French toast and the soufflé omelette. All were delicious--not the best ever, but definitely worth trying if you're in the area.

Stopped in here for breakfast. I would have given them 4 stars for the food and cafe element, but the quality and quantity given compared to the prices is incongruent and almost absurd... too pricey. The food we had was dry, and the iced coffee was heavily watered down. I believe this place makes a decent earning of off tourists, from offering small portions for an embellished price. The atmosphere is quaint and feels like a local farmer's cafe... but the ingredients may not be plucked straight from the earth, most tasted processed, however. You are better off going next door to Safeway and cooking up your own breakfast, save money, have more food, make it taste better, less dry, and make tte coffee correctly. Dissappointment, but they can always change my opinion in the future!

Just don't know. Parking: same lot as previous tenant. Awesome! Decor: They appear to be going for like a rustic meets kawaii look but what stands out most is a gigantic dining table made out of the worn butt ends of 2x4's. So there are all these cracks and crevices for food and bacteria to dwell. I wondered how they cleaned it. When the cream for our coffees came, the cream on the bottom of the dispenser seeped right in. Service: You order and pay at the counter. Water, napkins, sugar and stirrers are self serve. Food came out pretty quick. FOOD: Soufflé omelette w ketchup risotto $9.50 + $2 for cheese. Comes w one side. I chose potato salad. Serving was about the size of a golfball plus 2 slivers of baguette. Ahi Benedict $9.80. Probably a better deal since you get a little meat w the dish. Everything we tried was delicious. Poach on the bene eggs was just over but pretty good. Healthy menu choices were abundant. This could leave some carnivores wanting though. Once again, as with a lot of these new breakfast places that are popping up, had I not gotten part of my wife's dish I would have left hungry for $28 ( we also had 2 coffees). The one thing that still bugs me is the "Local" breakfast. For $6.90 you get 2 eggs scrambled, 2 scoops rice and ONE, count it, ONE piece of spam. Maybe they're trying to help me w my portion control. I could get the same food just more of it for $2.15 less at L & L.

Having to wait for almost 45 mins for our food should've deserved a much lower rating...however it is a new business with so much potential. The food was delish, the ambience was refreshing and the service was pleasant. I would say give them a try...be patient as they get settled in - if we didn't need to be somewhere we probably would've savored every bite...but we did have to scarf it down so we wouldn't be late. Lol. I had the ahi tuna benedict (yes, that's how it was listed)...I was hesitant at first to try it cos I never had a benedict with tuna. It was actually a piece of blackened ahi - yummy! The hollandaise sauce was perfect...not too rich and not too watery. My friend said her chicken dijon was good but it didn't sound too convincing - I think maybe cos we had to rush to eat. It looked good tho. I'll defintely go back there.

My wife and I went here twice. First time was great with good coffee and food. The second time we went I ordered the same thing as before; bagel with lox. Now I freaking love bagel with loxs! But this time they put one slice of lox on there and for $8 and compared to any other place, I thought this was a mistake in the kitchen. I brought this to the waitresses attention and asked nicely if they could add some more loxs please. 5 minutes later (service a bit slow with full house) the reply was the chief says that is the portion size. Tasty stuff but $8 should get me a few slices of that tasty salmon according to every place I have ever been enjoying my breakfast favorite. I think their being a bit stingy and then charging to much if this is their portion size; one slice of Lox. Don't think we'll be going back as it just doesn't feel like our neighborhood breakfast joint; to bad as we were very excited to support local farms. Highly recommend Coffee Talk for awesome bagel and lox.

We tried the benedict and egg soufflé and this was the first and last time we will be at this place. Didn't really like the food. Cute place but I don't believe that they are really attached to any local farms.

Very farm fresh and clean! Lunch was just right...light and not too heavy! I would go again after my manicure next door. This was a cool new place with local foods and everything was different yet tasty and healthy. I wish more of these kind of restaurants would pop up more and more. Way healthier and relaxing than fast food drive-thrus. I would recommend this place to friends!

The restaurant is fairly small but the decor is super cute. I had the souffle omelette with a tomato risotto... Sooo gooooddddd. What took someone so long to come up with this?!? It really felt like I was eating egg air. A must try!

Very gracious staff. Omelette soufflé is horrendous. Soufflé is false advertisement. It was more like foamy omelette. Light and fluffy does not exist and the Spicy mayo on top is just plain odd. The risotto rice that it comes with is not even risotto. It was more like "mushy rice". And the "deli" side we chose was fruit but the amount of fruit more like a garnish. You'll get more fruit from an IHOP garnish. AND the "French Toast" is a toasted baguette that was stuffed with butter and cream cheese. Coffee was nearly 3.00 and not once were we offered a refill. I won't be going back not even for the other dishes that also looked good on pictures provided. Good luck and thank you for being very gracious. In that area you good a 5!

After my last visit for lunch I thought I should give this cool spot another chance but this time for breakfast. I finally had an open morning to visit and glad I did. Got there on a Sunday morning about 9 am, there were a few other people eating but not crowded with open seating. I decided to order the French Toast with Banana and a cup of coffee. Took a seat on the counter looking out at Kapahulu, my cup of coffee was served promptly, strong brew served piping hot. A few minutes later my french toast arrived..first thought was the presentation was perfect. Two nice slices of french baguette artfully arranged covered (but not drowning) in a wonderfully decadent looking sauce. Banana slices were browned nicely and a dollop of home made whipped cream completed the plate. I cut into the french toast, my first opinion and bite was the middle had no custardy finish, in fact the french toast batter had not penetrated at all. I was ready to not like it but then I had another bite coated in the syrup and with a piece of banana. I appreciated now that the crusty bread and chewy (and not custardy) interior perfectly complemented the grilled banana and syrup. I now believed if it was prepared like every other french toast there would not have been a textural difference in the components. I developed a routine, slice a piece of bread, sop up some of the sauce, place a banana slice on top, then dip my fork to get some whipped cream before placing in mouth. All of these components just work together perfectly. If you ate the french toast alone it would be too dry and chewy, but with everything else..wow.. Finished of my plate (i resisted liking it clean as there were other diners in there), drained my coffee mug, and off I went to face the rest of my Saturday!

Adorable little cafe on the not so adorable Kapahulu Ave. Pretty sure the owners are Japanese as the decor and food were reminiscent of a cute little place you'd find in Japan! Attention to detail in the decorations and really good use of space created a very pleasing, relaxed atmosphere. On top of that the food was delicious and healthy! I ordered the veggie sandwich which was paired with this delicious cranberry bread, salad, and one extra side of your choice (I selected the quinoa salad -- very yummy decision indeed!) I also tried the yuzu iced tea which was light and refreshing! Overall, I'm delighted at this new addition to the Hawaii cafe scene and will definitely be coming back!!

I stumbled upon this place for Saturday brunch and gotta say that this place was awesome! It's a small chaming place with a great homey interior - wood plank tables, benches, pillows, and art work spread the room. I had the souffle omelette with creamy rissoto and a side of kale salad. I also tasted their carrot ginger soup. The souffle omelette was incredibly airy and fluffy in the inside and slightly crisp and seasoned on the outside. It was a good savory souffle in the form of an omelette. This paired great with the creamy and more dense risotto that it was served with. Trying the both over a bite of the crisp baguette slice was a treat. The carrot ginger soup was also nice and the extra kick of ginger made it seemed reallu healthy. Personally, if they addee mushrooms or some potatoes to make it heartier, I would of liked it even more. In addition, they also get their fresh ingredients from local farms and are health conscious with their food. I would definitely recommend this place and come again.

The ice latte is really watered down. I also really don't like the taste of the salmon they use in their food.

I highly doubt these are farm to table ingredients... The salads were all bland. Especially the potato salad which also contained canned corn and canned beans. The Ahi sandwich only had 3 small slices of Ahi... and an excessive amount of onions and seaweed. The roast beef sandwich had processed cheese - like the kind that comes individually wrapped in plastic. Also had no flavor. The quinoa salad lacked dressing. The side salad was barely cut and didnt have dressing..... it was just lettuce. The restaurant is very cute. I think they need to upgrade from that standard Costco ingredients and speed up the service. It is a good concept, so hopefully they will work on the execution. I think i will pass on returning... oh and it also left us hungry.

The latte large was really good!! At least 1-1/2" of foam. The bento with dejon chicken and five sides was really good and made me feel really alert ( hard to explain the cleanness I experienced ) I will go back

I wanted to love this place but was not blown away. While the food was alright, the service was extremely slow, and the dishes was not as described. Ordered the quiche, soup and salad plate. The soup was very good - carrot ginger. The quiche was not a quiche. It was an omelette/frittata cut like a quiche. I wasn't bad, but that's not what I wanted. The salad dressing was bland. Husband ordered the acai bowl. It probably had just a tablespoon of granola. Way to skimp, man. The cucumber mint slush was nice, but it came out as we were anxious waiting to leave. The place has potential... But I doubt we will be returning.

I want to like this place more, I really do, but when we went on not-so-busy Sunday, our order took longer than I was patient, and I'm pretty patient. It wasn't a difficult order, as there were no special requests, but our server forgot one of four the items. The Acai bowl was pretty, but there were big chunks of ice in it, which is not something I expect in an acai bowl. The salad sampler was okay but not stellar. Presentation was nice, though! With all the great places to go on a Sunday I'm not sure I'll return unless a whole bunch of Yelpers are ecstatic...

Fresh, flavorful, thoughtfully prepared food. Lackadaisical service. Stumbled on the place but it turned out to be one of my best meals in the Honolulu area for sure. The Dijon chicken salad was scrumptious. All ingredients were fresh and prepared with just the right seasoning. My companion commented favorably on her Dijon chicken sandwich as well. It's almost a deli sort of place with little table service, but the service was lackadaisical at best. My food was delivered to the table 10 minutes after my companion's and she had to twice go back to the counter to ask that her drink be prepared. The service matters aside, it's a first-rate lunch spot.

Went there today not knowing what to expect from other reviews. I have to say...the food we had was rather delicious (vegie sandwich and the soufflé omelette). Great taste and portions won't stuff you, but if your a hefty eater you will not be "full". I didn't mind since I'm trying to cut down on my overeating. The omelette came with a risotto...didn't seem like a risotto to me (but then I'm no culinary expert)...I was fine with that since it still was great to me. I will definitely go back to feast upon their other items. As with most new restaurants, I never go right away. They need time to get their flow going...hope they continue to do a good job.

We had to wait 40 min for our food, and the soufflé omelette is like foam in your mouth...eww Also, service was scrambled. A party got their Soufflé omelette 10 min before us, and we ordered 10 min before they did. They also charged us for extra toppings that they did not provide. The Kale salad and the mango juice was good. So i give it one star.

This place is awesome! The decor inside is really cute going with a shabby chic theme. The menu is pretty small but the food they have is really good. I went here with my family and I got the soufflé omelette. It was very fluffy and delicious! We also got ahi eggs benedict, the kaimana power bento, and the quiche and soup plate. Everyone enjoyed what they got and our plates were cleaned by the time we were done.

Really great spot for a Sat. breakfast. The food is comparable to all the other popular brunch spots in Kaimuki and Manoa minus the ridiculous tourist lines. I had the French toast with caramelized banana-amazing! Also had a bite of the acai bowl and bagel with salmon, also delicious. My new go-to Sat. brunch joint!

Food: I ordered the veggie sandwich. Really good. Side of Hijiki was okay. Service: Really really slow (40 mins for my order). Granted, it's a new restaurant but they need to figure this out. When I ordered my to-go order there were 4 tables waiting and I basically had to wait until they all had their food before I got mine. I also was not given a napkin or utensils (to eat my hijiki with). Another thing is the hijiki had small pieces of fishcake. And I ordered a veggie sandwich. If I were vegetarian, I would not be able to eat this. The server/cashier should do a better job of explaining their food. Again, this is a new restaurant problem. Overall: food was delicious. Service and timing needs A LOT of work. Hopefully they'll figure it out.

A small new hole in the wall cafe. Kinda small space but nice homey feeling. The menu is small but the food is pretty good. A lil bit pricey but I guess das what you get for all da fresh fruits and veggies. The only thing dat sucks is dat parking is limited and also seating. But food was good service was alright.

Great concept but poor execution. Came for lunch only to be confronted an immense wait AND pieces of plastic in my food. The pork kakuni sandwich was poorly constructed to the point where ingredients fell out everywhere. I would definitely switch from hard boiled eggs to fresh sunny side up so that the sandwich can be successfully bitten into and way more delicious ( who doesn't love a nice fried egg on their sandwich?). Service was great though the girls in the front were polite and gracious. She even gave me a muffin for the wait. It seems to me that they just need to get their kitchen in line.

If I died right now I'd die happy. This place is awesome! I purchased a cucumber mint smoothie which is super refreshing and icey which is perfect for a hot Hawaiian day. I split a kaimana power bento with the potatoe croquette. Omg SO good! Everything is super fresh and has just the right amount of flavor. Also shared a roasted farm veggie sandwich that I devoured in seconds, unable to hold back from its amazing flavor. Super cute setting. In conclusion if you like delicious healthy meals you can't go wrong.

I REALLY didn't want to write a negative review for this place because I really want it to do well and be around for a long time. That being said, the two stars is for service only. This review reflects the three times that I have been there. 1st time: Went there already being forewarned that the service is slow. So yeah, I got there and there was a party of two sitting at a table and one person in front of me ordering. To order and get food (for take-out), took about 20-25 minutes. Note: this is for their Kaimana Power Bento - your pick of 5 PRE-MADE sides and choice of pumpkin croquette/potato croquette/dijon chicken. 2nd time: I walked up and it was CROWDED! I thought about leaving, but since I was there and had some time, I stayed and got in line. It took close to 15 minutes just to get to order. Ordered the Kaimana Power Bento again. AFTER ordering - 15 minutes passes... 20 minutes passes... 25 minutes passes and I see a take-out box pop up at the window, so I go inside thinking it has to be mine. Of course, I had to wait for someone to be able to help me and when I got someone, they opened the box to check it and it wasn't mine. They asked me what I ordered and then couldn't find my order. So I ask "did you even put it in?". After a bit of rummaging, we figure out that they gave my order to the guy who also just left with take-out. Soooooooo, they say they will put my order in right away. It took another 15 minutes - TO PUT PRE-MADE SIDES IN A BOX! All in all, I was there about an hour, for take-out. There just is no excuse! **They didn't get a one star rating because they offered to give me the guy that took my order's order as compensation.** 3rd time: This time I thought I'd be really smart and call the order in. I had some errands to run so I called in the same Kaimana Power Bento and figured by the time I ran my errands and drove over there, it would be sitting and waiting. Umm, no. I get there and they tell me they didn't ask me if I wanted white or brown rice, so I give my preference, thinking they're just going to throw it in the box. I waited for the people in front of me to finish ordering and I pay. The order doesn't come out. So I ask if they didn't make my order yet and was told, "oh no, it's made". Waiting... Guess, what, I had to get insistent (call it bitchy if you want) and asked that it be checked on. They were "re-heating" the croquette. I write this in hopes that the service and turn time improves. This is one of the few places with good healthy/organic options and I really want it to do well and stick around.

I ordered the pork belly eggs benedict with baby spinach. It was abysmal. The eggs were overcooked - not slightly overcooked, but we'll past medium boiled egg overcooked. No runny yolks for me. The spinach was raw. This was unexpected and overall not pleasant. I don't order spinach Bennie often enough to be sure, but I thought spinach on eggs benedict was always cooked. The English muffin was un toasted and didn't provide the crunch that is necessary in eggs benedict. The hollandaise was unremarkable. I don't expect it to be amazing and they didn't lose stars on my review because of it. But the pork belly want pork belly, it was roast pork shoulder and it was completely dry. And then I found a wadded up piece of saran wrap between some pieces of pork and it all became clear; the elements of the meal were precooked and they'd just microwaved my food. I brought this to the attention of the cashier and she aphid profusely, and brought me a muffin in apology. The muffin was also dry, but I appreciate the gesture.

Saw this place while driving to Safeway one day. At first it looked like all the other old buildings on Kapahulu, but since the name of the place was clear and easy to read I looked it up on yelp. Of course it caught my attention also because it was called "café". Since I'm a huge fan of breakfast places, this place looked like it was worth giving a try. The decor was very welcoming. It might just be me, but I love the whole homey/vintage look. The menu is filled with a variety of options, but not too much thats it's over whelming. My boyfriend and I ordered the eggs benedicts. I got salmon and he got pork belly. They were both amazing! What I really like though was that the eggs weren't drowned in hollandaise sauce. I also order the house iced tea. The flavor that day was Hawaiian vanilla. It gave the iced tea a kind of rich creamy flavor if that makes any sense. But it was delicious as well! There is also outside seating, and since I live in Kaimuki this place would be a great place to finish my morning walks with my puppy. I'll definitely be back :)

Wow, yum! I can't wait to come back! It is always exciting to see local businesses as passionate about local Hawaii farmers and sustainability as I am. They space is so chic and comfortable, I kept wanting to take pictures because every corner is cute and it looks like it is straight out of a magazine. They chalk board menus above the counter are easy to read. I ordered the souffle omlette and my husband ordered the spam benedict. Both were so delicious! I wanted to pop my head in the back and thank the chef, it was obvious that they put thought and passion into their cooking. I can't wait to return.

Went here at around 1pm on a weekday so the place was slow. Cashier was very sweet and offered recomendations. Ordered the pork bowl and got it about 10 mins later. Pork was yummy! Very tender, fell apart, no knife needed. It had a teriyaki flavor and came with a hard boiled egg. I chose the quinoa beet salad as my side. It was not great but can't expect much as it is beets and quinoa. The place is cute and cozy, small but nicely decorated, would definitely return.

Tried it for the first time today. The spicy Ono Ahi Ahi sandwich was possibly one of the most delicious fish sandwiches I've ever had the pleasure of eating. The server was super sweet, you get the kind of service you'd expect at a family owned restaurant. So, if you enjoy the fake corporate regurgitated speak and being pampered you should avoid this place. However, if you're looking simply for a delicious meal that is farm fresh and delicious then I highly recommend!

Tried this place for the first time today and was very disappointed with the food , the staff and especially the coffee. To start things off the coffee was watered down ,food took a while and when it finally did come out they brought my girlfriend the wrong sandwich. I can confidently say that I would never eat here again. I'm not exaggerating you have been warned.
