The sign says...Dole "MINI MART". It is a great store, with great owners that cater to the needs of all who work in and around the area. They have great customer service, and a smile every morning.

No idea how others think this place should have such a high Yelp rating. Yes- there is ice cream, soda and mushibi. There is also weird touristy things like cheap hats. Why are there cheap hats here? Do they think the only tourist that is lost walking around will buy all of the hats on the shelf? Sometimes it is not even open on weekends when the biggest crowds of the week are there for the pokemon/ magik/ card games right in front. As I mentioned before, Dole Mall is a weird kind of mall and lowering expectations is advised. It is small on the inside- but that is kinda expected. If you are gaming and just need that 2 bags of funions - well - this is the place for you. Otherwise, just go to where you would normally go to eat.

Super friendly people who work here! Dennis is usually the one helping out in the morning. I often come here for coffee and a muffin or even fruit. I can always call for a lunch order or prepay for a lunch special since my lunch hour is so late in the day, their lunch specials are usually sold out!! If they know your name, they will greet you and talk story with you too! Always nice to frequent this shop on a daily basis :)

Great place to grab what you need when you on the go! They also have some great food for Breakfast or Lunch if you work in the Iwilei area.

At first glance, a typical convenience store, seemingly random in product choice. However, I noticed that thoughtful decisions were being made in its small aisles and limited shelf spaces--some "urban" fashion such as sports team snapbacks, handkerchiefs for do-rag hairdos, interesting hairnets, and other mainlandy people-of-color accessories...but no sketchy "water pipes" that promote drugs in those communities. Culturally sensitive and considerate. The sandwiches, sitting unannounced in clear-glassed mini-fridges, look freshly made (fluffyish wheat? bread, with wet ingredients not yet turning their halves into mush), in contrast with the 7-11 type which might be a day or two old, having melded into a bready and moistly squashed mess. A generic, house-made warmer full of Hawai'i convenience store favorites, such as fried rice mini-bentos, spam and Portuguese sausage plus rice dishes, hot breakfast plates, etc.--but also, quiet displays of specialty prepared foods by hard-working Honolulu businesses that churn out high-quality snacks, most notably the pastries (from the fab Elvin's Bakery in Dillingham, which produces cakes and other baked goods for mid-to-upscale venues such as Nordstrom's Marketplace Cafe) and cookies (from Pauoa's KD Cafe, shave-ice maker and cookie-baker extraordinaire). Check out the brands here: yelp.com/biz/elvins-bake… yelp.com/biz/kd-cafe-haw… These products' merchandising (displays, location, in-store sales) are frankly, quite awful, as there's no emphasis of the Elvin's brand AT ALL or of its gourmet-level quality, just a batch of pastries with prices, laid out atop some brown paper...not even labels of what they are. ARGH. And no selling of the KD Cafe brand, either; the cookies are snuck into what's literally the far corner of the store, and, while at least shelved so that each package with a different flavor-profile is clearly visible, the yummy items are not explained in either English or Japanese as a respected local cookie brand, either. Come on, guys, you did the work of selecting your items carefully, with attention paid to relatively high quality and good ethics and the support of promising O'ahu businesses. Can you at least get a relative or community person to help you with the displays, marketing, etc.? It'll bring in more of those Japanese tourists and Japanese and Okinawan local elderly folk coming in by the busload to nearby places such as CostCo, Aloha Tofu Town, etc. I'll bet some would purchase good local snacks, pastries, cookies, etc., as omiyage, if you packaged and promoted them right. In brief: Don't trust the customer to make the decision. Help her/him along, by offering more attractive information. You gotta support the businesses you're in partnership with, carrying your load of some of the sales effort. These folks need a serious marketing overhaul including a substantial social media boost. They are doing part of the business right, just need some clearer and more apparent branding of their merchandising.

I work in the same building as the Mini Mart and I really love the people who own and work there. I love this little store and it's very addicting

I've been coming to this mini mart for some time now since I work in the area. The best thing about this place is there daily lunch specials. I usually go on Thursdays since they have home made spaghetti and garlic bread, and Fridays they have a hawaiian plate. The prices are more expensive than 7-11, a bottle of water is over 1.50. However, their coffee is cheap and it is amazing! They also have pastries in a glass window, and they give you the option of which pastry you want. The uncle and aunty who work there are so friendly and always greet you and say "thank you" before you leave the store. Beside food, they have lots of other miscellaneous things, t-shirts, hats, and some kitchen things. The salad and sandwiches are too expensive for me, I'd rather make my way over to subway IMO.

run by Koreans? check random things you'd find in an Asian run convenience store? check cheaper snacks and drinks than the movie theater across the street? check hot food items like musubis? check this place is pretty much exactly what you'd expect of a korean-run mini-mart. tasty finds, fairly cheap prices, random things (knock off hand bags to go with my shrimp chips and soda? sure, why not), and that special touch of service only given by Korean Natives.... the only junk part is, they close fairly early, so if you're seeing a late movie at Dole, you can't get snacks from them :(

I give it a 5 stars for it's location and their quality for the price range! If you are planning to go to a movie matinee at dole then play a visit to this mini mart to get your snack on. They are across the street form the theaters, and are next to the escalator. Note: I'm not saying sneak food in, but that's your own discretion! ;) However, they have all your movie favorites from kakimochi, to sour patch kids. The fast foods they have over there are pretty good too. For a quick bite I'd recommend the spam musubi! At $1.69 it's a good deal, beats 7-11's musubi any day! They have a huge drink selection, some drinks I haven't seen before. Folks working there are nice too. It's like your mom and pop mini marts. They also have daily specials, and from those I have tried are pretty good. Bummer is that it's cash only, and only open from 5am - 5pm M-F.

I was looking for a drink and a sandwich, not knowing that they had hot food besides your typical spam musubi and breakfast sausage bentos, the worker possibly owner asked if I would like a chili frank plate. Figured I'd give it a try as she made it sound a lot better than a sandwich did. Awesomely they have a condiment table with Tabasco and other fixings. After paying for my food and finding a table I opened my mini plate which was filled to the brim. Chili seemed to have fresh pieces of onion and carrots making me guess it's not straight out of a can. Had a full red hotdog on top, I figured it would only be a half as I only got a mini. Everything in the store is reasonably priced and they even have a great selection of hats! Would be a great place to pick up last minute snacks for the movies if you are there early as they close at 5. Nothing super amazing that I would go out of my way for, but still a place I would visit if in the area.
